i don’t want characters with healthy coping mechanisms, actually. i want them to yearn and weep and suffer and have their brutal worldviews informed and/ or altered exclusively by their unyielding love for like. one other person. sorry
#how I be writing#timperi#no i do NOT want peri to move on and be a stable functional adult#i want him to throw up and cry every time he sees a specific shade of pink for the rest of his fucking life

"these characters aren't related but somehow their relationship still feels like incest" but deliberately because that's what makes the relationship dynamic and chemistry interesting.

This week, I read a fic that was around 20 years old, which had originally been posted on the author's personal website and which she added to AO3 a few years ago. She listed her email address with the fic, so after I finished reading, I sent her an email saying how much I enjoyed the story, how much I appreciated the work and effort she obviously put into it, and thanked her for uploading it to AO3. She responded the next day and thanked me for my message, then said she had a few more stories in the same series that she hadn't gotten around to uploading. I checked this morning--she added a 35,000 word novella and thanked me in the summary.
👏 comment 👏 on 👏 old 👏 fics 👏

"If Love Is The Answer, You're Home"
CH.9: Enough
Chapter Preview:
Peri cast a glance towards the front of the funeral home, where strangers about the same age as Timmy’s parents were milling about quietly. “Besides, I wouldn’t want you to do this alone.”
Despite himself, Timmy couldn't keep the grimace off of his face. “Yeah, I just…” He cut himself off and took a deep breath. “Let's just get this over with.”
As Timmy took a step forward, though, Peri caught him by the sleeve. “Hold on,” he said. “Your tie.”
“Huh?” Timmy glanced down at the crooked, wrinkled black tie he wore. It wasn't the same shade of black as his suit jacket. “Oh, yeah. I guess I was in a hurry.”
Peri didn't need to have grown up with Timmy to know that he was lying — it was clear on his brother's face. Timmy’s dad had never bothered to teach him how to tie his own tie, so Cosmo had. Peri remembered those lessons.
Apparently, Timmy didn't.
(Peri swallowed his bitterness. Today wasn't about that.)
Read the chapter on AO3.

ch.9 is done, and clocks in at about 7.6k words! I'll be posting it once I have the editing and proofreading done, so probably tomorrow. I like to sleep before I look at drafts — coming back to it with fresh eyes always helps.
So I will see you all tomorrow, and I will have the next chapter of ILITAYH posted just in time for New Year's!

My inbox says that I have 10 asks, but I only see 3 of them. I'm assuming that the rest are hate-mail from people who have since blocked me, lmao.

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!
Hope you’re having a good one.
Do you have any Timperi holiday tradition-headcannons to share?
I feel like Timmy would insist on watching Christmas specials from his favourite super hero series instead of actual Christmas movies, and Peri will sometimes poof them into the episode for fun, causing a lot of trouble.
That's so cute, aw! 🥺
It's already canon that Timmy loves Christmas. I'm sure he'd be ecstatic to finally have a brother he can do everything with — homemade hot cocoa, sled rides, decorating gingerbread houses, making snowmen, snow forts, snowball fights...
I like to think that the holidays are important to Timmy because his parents never did any of those things with him as a kid. Having a family to celebrate properly with must feel like a dream-come-true that he didn't even have to wish for.
And, of course, once Peri and Timmy are reunited as adults, I'm sure Christmas quickly becomes their favorite time of year. 'Trapping' each other with mistletoe (it's like a psuedo-prank war as they try to one-up each other every year, but of course there's no loser, since if they lose they still get to kiss!), baking fruitcake just to try it (it sucks, no surprise there, lol), watching the same Crimson Chin Saves Christmas special that they do every year...
Oh my gosh, they make me so soft.

I love your timperi content, but it's got me curious since chloe is the one of the only people irep actually cares for and his relationship with her is basically the same as peri's relationship with timmy, I'm surprised no one has shipped irep and chloe yet. But what do you think? Would they be a good ship?
Well, I don't really care for Chloe, so I'm probably not the best person to ask about this. I do think it's sweet that Irep obviously cared about her, though! I'm sure he was deeply saddened when she no longer needed fairies — and then immediately buried those feelings deep, deep down and never acknowledged them again, haha.
I won't be the one to pioneer this ship, but I would be interested if someone else did!

thinking of timperi.......
Me, always 🥺
Since you all have been so patient, here is a snippet from the next chapter of ILITAYH:
Peri cleaned his head on Timmy’s shoulder. If he looked his brother in the eye, he would lose control of the tears that he was barely holding back. “If you want to talk about it, I’ll listen. Or if you don’t want to talk about it, I’ll sit with you. I can leave, too, if that’s what you need. Anything at all — just wish for it,” he whispered. Timmy opened his mouth, and all that came out was a creaky, cracking sort of sob. He suddenly wrapped his arms around Peri, holding him tight, face buried in the side of Peri’s head. Timmy was probably getting snot and tears in his immaculate curls, but Peri was hard-pressed to care. “Don’t go,” Timmy begged. “Stay with me. Please.”
