A/N: Don’t know how this college will show up on tumblr, so let’s see. This is an old, old idea that I got one day after I drew all over my arm in eyeliner when I was in class. It was actually really pretty, and thus the idea for this was born. Due to my ADHD it’s hard to focus in class, and because of that I need some sort of stimulation to make my brain think. This was written with an attention disorder in mind for the reader.

“We need to move in from this direction instead and then we can carry them out.” Bucky voiced from his place against the wall. 

I didn’t bother to follow the conversation, as this was the fourth time that they’ve been over editing the plan even when the first plan was perfect. 

I inwardly groaned and leaned my head back, moving my arms and stretching. Enjoying the feel of my back popping. The debate about how we were to get in was still going, and I ended up digging through my jacket pockets. Damn, I had a fidget in here this morning…

Still tuning everyone out, I found an eyeliner pen. Wait, wasn’t I looking for that yesterday?

You have got to be kidding me. I was. My habit, or rather, unconscious habit of losing things wasn’t fun. I misplaced things often enough to where I kept trackers on several items I used daily. Everyone idolizes having an attention disorder until you realize just how fucking shitty it is.

Seriously, I can’t get through the day without misplacing something. Or caffeine. Both. 

I ran a hand through my hair, tucking it behind my ears as I pulled the cap off the pen. It was one of the oil-based ones, which meant it was easy to clean off of skin. Laying my hand on the table I started sketching some bones on my fingers, then moved to my hand. Keeping tabs on the conversation, I finished my hand and moved to my arm. Instead of bones I just drew swirls, some small stars, and honestly whatever came to mind. I did the same with my other hand, albeit a bit messier because it wasn’t my dominant hand that was doing the drawing.

“We’re done with this for now. Let’s go over this tomorrow.” Steve said as he clapped his hands together, and shut off the screen. I glanced up only to meet Natasha’s eyes. As soon as she caught my gaze she smiled. I smiled back at her.

Everyone in the tower knew I had an attention disorder, and if just given my fidgets I would be fine. It turns out both of the scientists and I share that in common, and more often than not we were inventing some sort of new fidget toy. Of course, after the lighter-knife-spinner combination, we were a bit limited on our creations. Still, we got along great.

Everyone slowly got up and headed out to wherever they would be going, and I pulled out my phone and earbuds. Donning my jacket and tugging my phone in a pocket, I started my music and headed out, headless of Natasha calling after me.

I got to my floor and immediately shoved my shoes and socks off, along with my jacket and pants. I was bored enough that the thought of doodling over my legs sounded entertaining enough that I discarded my pants as well, kicking them over the back of the couch and flopping down onto it. I grabbed the remote and started from where I left off of (Favorite show) and went back to work. Eventually my feet were covered, and I moved up to my calves, then my knees, and soon enough my entire legs were covered. I drew up my arms as best I could, and fixed my hands. 

“So, this was the result?” Natasha’s voice scared the shit out of me, causing a huge streak of eyeliner to mess up my doodles on my arms. I turned towards her, mouth open in shock. She huffed a laugh and went around the couch, sitting down next to me.

She held out her hand. “May I?” She asked. I handed her the pencil and she gently took my arm, and continued my drawing up my arm and onto my shoulder, before lightly drawing them on my neck, and eventually my cheek. 

“These are really pretty...have you considered getting these tattooed?” She asked me as she switched sides and started working on my other arm. 

“I have, but I also realized that I’d want them different as soon as I saw them.” I replied. 

“That makes sense. You typically don’t like things to be permanent, they always need to be changing.” 

“Yeah, some permanent things. Such as tattoos, furniture, clothes. I change those often. But people however...they’re always changing.” 

“Ah, so in relationships you wouldn’t be deterred if someone wanted something permanent with you?” She questioned, tracing the pencil up my neck and onto my cheek, leaning closer to me. 

“No, I wouldn’t. I prefer that type of stability in my life.” I whispered as she leaned closer to me. 

“Do you want something permanent?” 

“I do.” I leaned closer and closed the gap between us.

I have a couple scattered around my terminal velocity tag. Here’s some more!

- Oliver doesn’t sleep sometimes (his sleeping schedule is less a schedule and more some online wheel spinner) and likes to lay his hand on Mike’’s chest as he falls asleep so Oliver can watch and feel his pulse get ever slower and slower and he revels in both the undeniable pulse and the thin line he equates sleep to.

- Mike likes to travel. In fact he will actually go ballistic if in one place too long. Sometimes he says he just doesn’t know how to sit still. Oliver is content to follow 5am travel whims. Mike senses coming storms and chases them. His nighttime melts to his patron too, and when a storm approaches, the rumbles enter the background of his dreams. His eyes snap open in the middle of the night and shakes Oliver awake, who nods as they both dress quickly and pack for a drive.

- Mike fucking loves his car. Its kind of embarrassing how much money has gone into the old vintage machine but it’s a nice clean design minus the rainbow led lights under the rims. He didnt name the car but he commonly calls it “her” and “my baby”

- Oliver is veeerrrry very patient which leads to Mike naturally losing alot of their bits that dont end and become about endurance. Mike has switchups between instant gratification and the ability to pursue one thing uninterrupted.

- Mike has poor circulation which is a shame since Oliver is very much not making body heat. They sleep with several blankets and sometimes a heating pad.

- Oliver is on friendly terms with Simon, who knows Oliver as “my basically-kid’s VERY polite and vast aligned boyfriend” and Oliver picks up some painting from him, much to Mike’s chagrin.

- Mikes favorite music genres are rock, house, and sappy songs. Oliver likes psychedelic, edm, and anything that sounds like a halloween song.

- Mike likes any competitive or open-world game and dislikes games that time cap you daily in progression or get too grind-y. Oliver likes all things horror (he can still spook easy) and dislikes games that have over complicated lore and bad lighting

- Mike got a place with a balcony for easy smoke access, which ends up also being where he leaves and comes back often. He only ever caught Oliver there a handful of times smoking, was scandalized to know Oliver had smoked when he was younger. Then realized his lungs don’t work anymore so free immunity. His Balcony was different in all the places he stayed. Sometimes a backyard. Sometimes a front yard. Often a car. Having someone else there was one of the large invisible steps into intimacy he’d have to wrestle with.

- Oliver is an avid spender of Fairchild money. He was incredibly reluctant to at first but eventually the silks and threadcounts got to him

I was watching part of the episode of Assassination Classroom where the kids all give each other code names and I was like "wouldn't it be funny if the league of villains did that", so here we are.

Now "Lizzy," I hear you say "they have villain names, why would they need code names"? And to that I say, leave me alone. I just watched today's episode and wanted to sob, let me have my fun. >:(

(Also, technically, in that episode the fun was that everyone else picked the codenames so we operating off that).

I feel like this would be born of a bet that went horribly wrong or just them joking around and then it became serious. Like, they had some undercover mission to do and were like "hey, since everyone like, knows what our names are now, we should probably get like codenames". Actually no, Toga and Twice said that, the rest of them said it was ridiculous but they were so insistent they put it to rock paper scissors and the others lost. So they all picked out codenames for each other:

Dabi: "Daddy Issues" (he almost flambés the entire hideout, because he totally doesn't and people aren't supposed to know about his super secret stuff, but in reality it's not that deep and Spinner put it in because he thought Dabi just looked like someone who'd have them).

Tomura: "Gotta Hand it to Ya" (Everyone but Tomura thought it was hilarious, no one cares it's not practical)

Spinner: "Brain AFK" (He would take offense that, but at least it's not Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle)

Kurogiri: "MOOOOOOM" (All o's and caps included)

Compress: "Hey kid, wanna see a magic trick" (Again, no one cares it's not practical so Compress just goes with it and waits until it eventually gets shortened into something that can actually be said quickly on coms)

Twice: "Needs Therapy" (Anyone could've taken this, but they felt it fit him best)

Toga: "Stabby the Human" (Most of them don't get the reference, but it's fine)

I can just imagine them running around, murdering people and just doing what they do but the whole time it's just:

Rating: PG-16 - Generally wholesome with a light praise kink but contains innuendo and mentions of bedroom wear

Timeline: Just before the Overhaul arc, when the LOV is still in hiding post Bakugo rescue

Word Count: 1.5k

"To-ga! Quit squirming!"

"But it tickles soooo much!"

"Do you want me to stop?"

She whined, kicking her feet like a child. "Ohmigosh no! Please don't stop!"

Your voice fell into a hushed purr. "Then be good for me, okay Toga-chan?"

Toga's giggle that damn near glittered in the air. "Anything for you ♡."

Sitting on an old dusty crate, Spinner's eye twitched. He hunched over, burying his burning cheeks in his red scarf. "Will you guys cut it out?!"

Magne flicked her wrist, blowing on her fresh, manicure before flashing Spinner a knowing smirk. "Jealous, much?"

He thrust a shaking green finger at Magne. "T-that's not the problem and you all know it!"

"Oh?" Magne teased, using her wrist to smooth her red hair behind one ear. "Do we now?"

Kneeling on some old rags to soften the hard warehouse floor, you shifted to let some blood back into your tingling toes. Your fingers still delicately curled around her soft hand, turning it into the thin light that drifted through the cracks in the old glass. Eyes level with Toga's chest, you threaded the brush back into the nail polish bottle before the next drip could escape. "I can do your nails next if you want."

"Spinner," Toga called, flicking her free hand at the woman next to her. "Use your wizard powers to make Magne's nails dry faster so the dust doesn't ruin them."

"I'm not that old!" he roared back.

Magne smirked before muttering under her breath. "Interesting that that's the part you chose to deny..."

Toga cackled. As her hand shook with laugher, she bounced the brush against her knuckle. Baby pink paint flooded her cuticle.

You groaned reaching for a bamboo stick to scoop out the excess. "Toga! Seriously!"

"So~rry..." she apologized without a hint of remorse before pointing at Magne. "It's her fault."

Magne casually threw up her hands. "I won't deny that."

You could head Spinner's teeth grinding across the room. He glared at the warehouse door. "When the hell is everyone getting back?!" he demanded, checking his wristwatch. "They were supposed to be here twenty minutes ago!"

"Find some chill. I'm sure they'll be back soon," you called, twisting the cap back on the bottle. Blindly groping across the selections beside you frowned. "Hey, Spinner, can you pass me the one that says: 'top coat'?"

"Make Magne do it!"

Magne waved her fingers at him. "My hands are wet."

Stuffing his fists into his pants pocket, Spinner spat out a irritated noise before stalking over to your group. Red eyes searched the small cluster of options resting on the wobbly cardboard box you'd turned into a makeshift table. Plucking the one labeled "Seche Vite" from the group, he twisted off the black cap and sneezed. Eyes watering, he thrust the bottle at you. "That stuff stinks!"

You nodded, blotting the brush off on the bottle's neck. "Yeah, but it's the best one."

"Beauty knows no pain," Magne explained with a shrug.

Shoving his nose into the the crook of his arm, Spinner flopped onto the nearest crate. He narrowed his eyes, watching as you fanned Toga's fingers wide. Each delicate stroke of the slippery gloss spilled across the curve of her nail. The tip of your tongue darted out of the corner of your mouth as you leaned to one side. As the edge of your pointer shifted down the length of her middle finger, Toga bit her lip to fight the giggle.

Your lashes drifted low as a gentle smile split your lips. "Good girl," you praised.

Spinner's adam's apple bobbed. He shifted in his seat with a grimace.

Catty yellow eyes curled with naughty glee. "Do Spinner's next."

"Mhmm," you hummed, pinching your lip between your teeth. "Give me one second."

Above your head, Toga flashed him a snitty grin. "What color do you want?"

Spinner glared at her. "Unlike some people, I have better things to do than get a manicure."

"Bullshit," Magne declared, grabbing the darkest color you had. She wagged it at him. "This one."

"Daddy-and-I-don't-talk black?" Toga sneered. "Dabi will be jealous."

Magne hummed, inspecting the thick fluid with renewed interest. "You think?"

"Please," you groaned, blowing away a stray hair from Toga's pinky. "Anyone with that many piercings is obviously mad at their dad." You nodded to the girl above you. "All done. Give it fifteen before you touch things."

"Hooray!" Toga bounced off the box, sticking her tongue out. "You're next Spinner."

Rolling triceps tensed like the strain of the world was crushing his shoulders. "I—" Spinner swallowed. "I'm fine."

You rolled your eyes and patted the perch before you. "Come on."

With all the speed of a turtle, Spinner slunk over and took his place in front of you.

Without hesitation, you gabbed his hand, lifting it up to inspect his nails. Perfectly almond shaped and clean, you admired their smooth, ghost grey color. "Oh my gosh, Spinner. You have super pretty nails!"

"Huh?" Blood rushed to his face, staining his green skin an irrational shade of pastel pink. [1] "Oh... I never thought about it."

Your grinned. "These are going to look awesome. Makes me wish I had a matte top coat." You sighed wistfully. "Oh well, glossy finish will make them look like midnight water. It'll still be cool. I promise."

"Um..." He scratched his cheek. "I guess I'm in your hands then."

"Kay!" You reached to the pot of skin oil, dabbing the tiny brush over his cuticles. "Ugh. I'm super jealous of your deep nail beds! I barely need to to push these back."

As you worked the tissue with gentle strokes, Spinner's spine snapped straight as a steel rod. Your thumb slipped across his sweaty palm, resting on the bumpy edge between the scattered scales. He gritted his teeth, looking away from you.

Laying his hand back on his knee, you leaned over, the edge of your chest brushing him as you grabbed the rubbing alcohol. A sharp inhale rattled through Spinner's beak. By the time you had his fingers back in your grasp, his purple hair stood on end. He closed his eyes, focusing on the cold swipe of the cotton pad against his heated skin.

"Are you okay?"

He squinted down at you only to have his lungs cease tight. Below soft lashes, curious eyes stared up into his. Oh man... The sight of you holding his hand as you sat nestled between his knees—

"Fine," Spinner squeaked, fanning himself with stale air. "J-just a little warm."

You cocked your head, examining the bare skin just above his arm wraps. You squeezed his hand. "Hey... can I ask you a personal question?"

"W—" He cleared his throat. "What is your question?"

"Do you get goosebumps?"

He blinked before shaking his head. "Um... No. I don't have hair anywhere but my head so—"

All at once, your eyes drifted down to the seam of his pants. Time stopped. His pulse throbbed in his ears. Were you really looking at his—?

Your gaze dashed back to his as you fixed him with a nonchalant smile. "Oh, I see. That makes sense then."

The edges of Spinner's vision sparkled grey as his life flashed before his eyes. While you unscrewed the cap, he scrunched his eyes shut.

'Naked Moonfish. Think of naked Moonfish!' he commanded himself.

While the tiny brush caressed his nail with sticky basecoat, his blood simmered. Despite his best efforts, it was impossible to imagine the cannibalistic villain sans leather bondage gear. Instead, easy images of you body, barely covered in black mesh, shoved themselves to the forefront of his mind. The swell of your chest filled his imagination, begging his thoughts to turn to pebbled peaks just below the filmy, flimsy fabric.

"Do you want to ask me anything?"

He jolted at the sound of your voice. "What?!"

"In return for my question. Did you want to ask me anything?"

'Do you prefer leather or lace?' his brain screamed.

"I..." He gulped. "Can't think of anything right now."

'Well, anything aside from you on my mattress.'

Unable to hear the silent addition to his anwser, you carred on with your work. For two long, hard minutes, your hands danced from one finger to the next, working their way across his body until his pants were too tight to breath. Finally, he gasped for air as you set aside the clear bottle. As you strained to grab the black, he barely caught your next words.

"Might want to think of something, or I'll just keep asking you things instead."

He forced a laugh. "What? Are we playing a game now?"

You smirked at his hand, laying the first thick stripe of color. "Do you want me to play with you, pretty boy?"

Thud.

Half an hour later, when the rest of the league returned to the warehouse, they found three things:

Spinner's nails, perfectly coated in ink colored polish

Magne, and Toga, quietly trying to stifle their laughter.

A comatose Spinner, his mouth still foaming like he'd swallowed poison, laying cheek-to-thigh across your lap while you slowly stroked his hair.

Adventures in Silk

I've tried spinning straight silk top before. It was hell. So slippery it came off so easily and needed so much twist to hold. I did a smidgeon of a bobbin on my wheel and then abandoned jt with vague ideas of coming back. I did not. After months (years) of ignoring it I ended up chain plying it recently to free up the bobbin. And omg it was beautiful. So soft! So shiny! I love the finished product.

I was a less experienced spinner, and will try it again someday given how wonderful the finished thread is.

Until then, I discovered something called a silk cap.

It's...different.

A kind of soft, airy web of silk fibres in a triangle pouch shape, folded and compressed. I unfolded it, opened the pouch...and had no idea how to start.

I end up peeling a sort of layer off and stretching it out. (I know the tensile strength of silk is insane. I know this intellectually. But wow is it difficult to stretch this stuff out from thick to thin. My hands hurt from the effort).

It's working pretty well. The thread is thing and strong, and no where near as slippery as the top. There are a lot of neps, but that doesn't bother me.

I'm surprised by how much thread comes out of such a small amount of silk, but that's one of the beauties of it.

I would love to know if tanyone else has had a go at silk caps, or handkerchiefs too. I have heard making a hole in the middle and stretch them out into a ring is the best preparation method. Keen to try that one sometime.

Jordan Cox Poised to Step Up in New Zealand Tour Amid Smith's Absence

Jordan Cox, the young Essex cricketer, is likely to make his Test debut for England on the upcoming tour of New Zealand. Cox, who is currently serving as a backup wicketkeeper to Jamie Smith on the Pakistan tour, could step in as Smith is expected to miss part of the series for the birth of his first child.

The 24-year-old Cox, who made his international debut in the T20 series against Australia earlier this year, has impressed the England camp with his talent and versatility. England head coach Brendon McCullum confirmed that Smith might play only the first Test in New Zealand before returning home.

"At this stage, it looks like Jamie will probably play the first one and may miss the next two," McCullum stated. "It would be great to have a look at Jordan Cox as well. New Zealand is a comfortable place to keep wicket."

Smith, who has become England's first-choice wicketkeeper this summer, has won eight Test caps since his promotion. He will be behind the stumps for the final Test against Pakistan, starting in Rawalpindi this week. Cox, on the other hand, has been part of the England squad as a backup but hasn’t played in a Test match yet.
