Oh My God...inZOI...
"Recommended System Requirements for inZOI (Life simulator from Krafton Games, South Korea)
For those wanting to experience inZOI in all its glory with high frame rates and the most detailed visuals, aim for the following recommended specifications:
CPU: A more powerful processor like the AMD Ryzen 5 3600X or the Intel Core i5-10600K will deliver a smoother performance even in the most demanding scenarios.
RAM: Doubling the minimum requirement, 32 GB of RAM will ensure that your game runs seamlessly and enables extensive multitasking.
Video Card: Upgrading to an AMD Radeon RX 6800 or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 video card will allow you to enjoy inZOI at higher resolutions and with better graphical fidelity.
Dedicated Video RAM: A hefty 10240 MB will give you the bandwidth needed for ultra-quality textures and prevent any graphical stuttering.
Pixel Shader and Vertex Shader: Remaining at version 5.0, but coupled with more robust hardware, you’ll be able to maximize the game’s visual settings.
OS: Windows 10/11 with the latest updates is again recommended for the best compatibility.
Free Disk Space: A consistent 50 GB of free space is recommended for game files, mods, and updates.
-quoted from https://inzoiresource.com/blogs/22/Minimum-and-Recommended-System-Requirements-for-inZOI
Yeah...that's my wallet finding out I'm going to have to spend at least $4,000.00 to run inZOI decently on my computer. The thing is that you can no longer play these newest games on "integrated graphics chips". You have to get a dedicated card. My wife wants to play Dragon Age 4 (The Veilguard) which is coming out on October 31, 2024. And those games are just as intense on hardware as it is with inZOI.
Minimum and RECOMMENDED requirements for Dragon Age 4 "The Veilguard"
Me, personally... I want to play Cities Skylines 2 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Recommended requirements for those two games. Cities Skylines 2
As for MSFS 2024 (due to come out in 2024?)
It's over and above what is pictured in MSFS2020. Chillblast said that the "recommended specs" for FS2024 is the following:
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 PC Recommended Requirements
OS: Windows 10
Processor: Intel i5-8400 | AMD Ryzen 5 1500X
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 970 | AMD Radeon RX 590
Storage: 150 GB available space
I'm calling HORSESHIT on that right now. I'm saying it's more in the realm of what inZOI and Dragon Age the Veilguard is putting out. You don't get that kind of gaming experience with the specs Chillblast espouses. Especially on the processor and graphics end of things. After all, on the FS forum board, the recommended specs being tossed about just for FS2020 is the following:
Intel i7-12700K CPU
Z690 motherboard
32GB DDR4 3600mhz RAM (upgrades for this on the site are very cheap, but like you said I’ve seen a couple instances where this RAM outperforms most others)
1TB SSD
Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti
Liquid cooled, nice case, 850 watt power supply, etc
Frankly as far as I'm concerned, I'm tempted to go all out and perhaps go so far as investing in:
i9-13900K CPU
64GB RAM DDR4
4TB SSD
NVidia RTX 4090
Z790 GAMING X AX
at least a 1000watt power supply so that I can run peripherals like scanners and other photographic requirements...on top of just my gaming shit.
...at minimum.
I'm sure there will be detractors going, "You don't need that kind of hardware to play Sims 3...or the current games"...well, the main thing in building a system is that you have to shell out for future proofing (as much as technology development allows at any given time) so that you don't have to spend as much money upgrading your computer system on an yearly basis as opposed to once every three to five years and that Sims 3 is not the only game that I play. And the new releases coming out are that graphics-intensive...
I play SWTOR currently and I'm finding that the game stutters especially when there is a lot of people on a server. I want to minimize that so I'm thinking the more RAM I have and the better the video card, I'll get a little less lag out of it and that will help when I'm taking on Imp or Pub forces whichever side I'm playing against at the time. That and maybe improved graphics to the point where it looks semi-realistic. I'm also planning to get Dragon Age 1-3 and then Dragon Age 4 as well. Plus there are a few other graphics intensive games such as Digital Combat Simulator World (DCS: World) as well that are attracting my attention. I may even get into Call of Duty (depending on the feasibility of the user controls.
Mass Effect drives me absolutely friggin' nuts when it comes to controlling my character Shepard - she's a "femShep". I have to key-bind my movement keys to keys that I'm familiar with in order to keep from going bug-frickin' mental. That also messes with the shoot key too. I'll get there someday. In the words of the ever-immortal Maverick Mitchell:
So in a nutshell, these latest games if not forcing people to upgrade to a better class of gaming PC, will find that a lot of people with restrictive budgets may just drop out of the PC market and try to find it on console (if they play console games) no matter how restrictive the console games are in comparison to the PC versions as opposed to spending $4000 on a new gaming system. A standard PS5 is $499.95 CDN as opposed to spending 10X that much trying to set up a PC to be able to play these newer games. Add a couple hundred dollars buying a hard-drive for these consoles will maybe bring that amount to around $600.00 still much cheaper than buying a whole new PC. Dragon Age the Veilguard will only be released for PS5 and PC - No plans in the works for XBOX Series X as far as I know. And for now, inZOI is PC release only (with an intent to release to console later on down the road - though who knows when that will be) Why though am I looking at a new PC on a restrictive budget? Well, it's because I want to play the games in their full graphics and be unrestricted and potentially moddable states. Does it mean I'm going to have to save a lot of money while waiting on a new PC? Yes. Do I have the patience to wait? Yes...I'm in my fifties, I've waited this long...might as well.
🤣
#non-sims#inZOI#MSFS 2024#Cities Skylines 2#SWTOR#Sims 3#Dragon Age The Veilguard#DA4#da4 speculation#DA4 System Spec speculation#Inzoi Specs#MSFS2024 specs#Cities Skylines 2 specs#My wallet has just turned pale and fainted#This is what happens when a male simmer goes nuts and decides his proclivities are worth more than the size of his wallet.

Thess vs Budgeting
I'm not exactly bad with numbers; it just takes me a little while to do the working out of these things. Which I guess is good for my love of D&D, and is also good for budgeting. Because dear gods do I need budgeting. Because, much as I hate to do it, I need to replace Gilmore.
Gilmore is my PC, by the way. My combination gift for Christmas 2018 / birthday 2019. So ... yeah, there are issues. I'm running i5 and i7 is minimum requirement for Silent Hill 2 (or at least, some sites say that but I'm going with what's on Steam, since I figure they'd know). Also ... well, the big issue is that Microsoft is going to stop supporting Win10 in October 2025, and Gilmore won't run Win11. So I need a PC that runs Win11.
Please note that I do not want to run Win11. However, I also do not want to be faced with a massive security issue next year. Plus, let's face it, this machine is over five years old - or, more to the point, I got it five years ago and it wasn't exactly the gold standard then. That's a lot for a computer.
What all of this has meant is that I've had to run the numbers. All of the numbers. With variables that I had to sort out midway through everything. So it's basically kind of algebra. Ish. If you squint.
So here's been my thought process and search terms of late:
Can I just replace the CPU? No, because my motherboard won't support a new CPU.
Can I just replace the motherboard and CPU? Well, at that point, you might as well replace the whole fucking computer because the price isn't that different.
Do I need to worry about a graphics card? No, because I got a new one of those fairly recently and it's way better than the CPU/motherboard that are at least five years old.
Will a custom-built PC tower save me any money whatsoever? ...Not really, no.
Can I plug a graphics card into a machine with integrated graphics? After a little bit of searching, it seems yes. They've all got extra PCIe slots, and the graphics chip just won't do anything if a graphics card is plugged into one, so ... cool.
Can I plug a graphics card into a mini-PC? Apparently you can with some, because they have extra PCIe ports, but it's finding the room in the case that's the problem. Unless I want to Macguyver a solution to the whole thing, probably not, no.
Why the fuck are Intel chips so much more expensive than Ryzen chips? No fucking idea, but the reviews don't seem to show that much difference, so I'll take the budget version.
When do I need this by? Can it wait until Christmas? I mean, I don't really want to play Silent Hill 2, or to potentially try Veilguard, running on the minimum in terms of processing power - if it'll even work on an i5 chip, which is doubtful. So before October would be ideal. Also I really don't want to ask for another combination Christmas / birthday gift from the parentals again this year. I just did that last year, plus my stepfather gets very pernickety about computer stuff since he used to be an IS manager and somehow thinks he still knows more about what I need or want than I do.
So that's the various bits of instinctive maths I've done to get the base information - what I actually need. Then I had to go hunting through the options. Eventually, I found a thing that is suitable to my needs when hunting through the list of places that refurbish computers. The options on Amazon were cheap but ... rubbish, frankly, and eventually I found a nice little refurb place that was able to sell me what I needed at a ... mostly good price. Not as glorious as Gilmore looks-wise, but what do I need that for, honestly? Best part is that this one comes with a DVD drive. I can just watch my DVDs on my new computer! Whose name has not come to me yet but will. Anyway, doesn't completely break the budget but is going to have me being veeeeeeeeery careful this month.
Maybe it's about time to break out the Baldur's Gate 3 perfumes. For a very small client list, mind you. I don't have the spoons for anything as big as Scent of a Warden got for awhile.
Not sure what to do with Gilmore. I mean, beyond gutting for parts. Not that there are many, honestly - I crammed in a few myself, but Gilmore is one of those machines designed for looks and not exactly for ease in upgrades. Thankfully the new box is apparently designed to be upgraded, partly because it was built and refurbished from spare parts in the first place. As for the Shiny Case ... well, there are recycling spots that can deal with that. I don't think a very old i5 chipset machine will particularly go on eBay, after all.
So ... yeah, budgeting. I'd feel bad for upgrading just for two games, but I'm not, really - I'm upgrading as a security measure too. Believe me, I'd be happy to stick with my Win10 machine. I don't want Win11. Everything I have heard about Win11 is awful. But I guess there isn't an option at this point. Assholes. Cramming their ad-riddled, AI-driven bullshit into my machine.

Title: Building the Ultimate Gaming PC: A Comprehensive Guide
In the world of gaming, having the right hardware can make all the difference between an immersive experience and a frustrating one. While consoles offer a standardized approach to gaming, nothing beats the customization, power, and performance that a well-built gaming PC offers. Whether you’re chasing ultra-high frame rates, breathtaking graphics, or future-proofing for upcoming titles, building the ultimate gaming PC is the way to go.
Why Build a Gaming PC?
Building a gaming PC allows you to tailor your setup to meet your specific needs. You can select components that match your gaming style, optimize performance for the games you play most, and upgrade individual parts over time, unlike with a console that has a fixed specification.
Custom-built gaming PCs also offer better longevity. You can upgrade parts like the GPU, RAM, or storage without replacing the entire machine, keeping your setup relevant as games evolve and become more demanding.
Key Components of a Gaming PC
1. Central Processing Unit (CPU)
The CPU is the heart of any gaming PC, handling all the computational tasks required to run your games and background processes. For gaming, a multi-core CPU with high clock speeds is essential. Popular choices include Intel’s Core i5 and i7 series, or AMD’s Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7. AMD’s Ryzen chips, with their excellent multi-threading capabilities, are especially good for gaming and streaming setups.
2. Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)
Arguably the most crucial component in a gaming PC, the GPU determines how well your games render graphics, frame rates, and overall visual performance. For gamers looking to play modern titles at high settings, NVIDIA’s RTX series (like the RTX 3060 or RTX 4090) or AMD’s Radeon RX series (like the RX 6700 XT or RX 7900 XT) are ideal options.
These cards support advanced features such as ray tracing, DLSS, and ultra-high resolution gaming, offering the best performance for 1440p or 4K gaming.
3. Memory (RAM)
Having sufficient memory is critical for ensuring smooth gameplay, particularly when multitasking (like gaming and streaming simultaneously). For most modern gaming setups, 16GB of RAM is the sweet spot. However, if you're diving into memory-hungry tasks like video editing or 3D rendering alongside gaming, 32GB of RAM might be worth considering.
4. Storage
Fast storage solutions can dramatically reduce load times and make your overall gaming experience smoother. While traditional Hard Disk Drives (HDDs) offer larger capacities at lower costs, Solid State Drives (SSDs) have become the preferred option for gaming. An SSD, particularly NVMe SSDs, offer faster boot times and game load speeds. A combination of a 1TB SSD for games and operating systems alongside a 2TB HDD for media files is a common approach.
5. Motherboard
The motherboard is the backbone of your PC, connecting all the components. When choosing a motherboard, ensure it’s compatible with your CPU and offers the necessary features such as sufficient USB ports, PCIe slots for expansion, and support for overclocking. Look for motherboards from trusted brands like ASUS, MSI, and Gigabyte.
6. Power Supply Unit (PSU)
The PSU is often overlooked but is vital for powering your components. Choosing a reliable PSU with the correct wattage is crucial for system stability, especially when using high-end GPUs and CPUs. An 80 Plus Bronze or Gold certified PSU with at least 650-750 watts is a good starting point for most builds.
7. Cooling Solution
Gaming PCs generate heat, particularly under load. Ensuring your components remain cool is key to performance and longevity. Air cooling with quality fans is sufficient for most builds, but high-performance setups may benefit from liquid cooling, especially if you plan to overclock the CPU or GPU.
8. Case
The case doesn’t just affect aesthetics, it plays a role in airflow and cooling efficiency. Choose a case that fits your components, has good cable management options, and allows for future upgrades. Make sure the case supports enough cooling fans or radiators for your cooling system.
9. Peripherals
While not part of the core PC build, peripherals like the monitor, keyboard, mouse, and headset are crucial to completing your gaming experience. A 144Hz or 240Hz monitor paired with a high refresh rate GPU can offer a competitive edge in fast-paced games. Mechanical keyboards and high-DPI mice can further enhance your gameplay precision.
Building or Buying Prebuilt?
Building a PC yourself gives you full control over part selection and can be more cost-effective, but it requires knowledge of component compatibility and assembly. On the other hand, prebuilt gaming PCs from trusted manufacturers like Alienware, MSI, or CyberPowerPC can save time and effort. These systems come pre-assembled, tested, and often include warranties, making them a convenient option for those less familiar with building PCs.

The socket type and processor are crucial. The X670 motherboards support AMD Ryzen processors with AM5 sockets. Make sure your processor is compatible with this socket. Consider your processor and motherboard's specifications to avoid compatibility issues.
Considering Budget
Your budget is a key factor when choosing a motherboard. X670 motherboards range from affordable to high-end models. Choose your spending level and then, at that point, search for possibilities inside it. Remember that a higher price, for the most part, means better elements and performance despite the fact that you can track down budget-friendly solutions with every one of the necessary highlights.
Expansion Slot Type and Number
Expansion slots are necessary for the installation of additional components, such as sound and graphics cards. Check the X670 motherboard's expansion slots and type. Search for PCIe slots, the most common and versatile. The motherboard ought to have an adequate number of slots for your current and future needs.
Other Component Compatibility
Compatibility is fundamental to other components. Check the motherboard's specifications to confirm whether it supports your devices, storage, and other peripherals. On the X670 motherboard, which typically supports DDR5 RAM, there are many SATA and M.2 slots for storage. Check these details to avoid installation issues.
USB Port Type and Number
The number and type of USB ports are important for connecting devices. X670 motherboards have USB 3.2 and Type-C ports. Consider your devices and choose a motherboard with enough ports. Make sure it utilizes the freshest USB type for faster data transfer.
SATA Port Type and Number
SATA ports connect your drives of storage. Break down the X670 motherboard's SATA ports. For your storage devices, be certain they have an adequate number of ports. However, most X670 motherboards have numerous SATA ports, so it's dependably tricky to confirm.
Form Factor
Motherboard size and case fit depend on form factor. Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX are common form factors for motherboards utilizing X670. Consider case needs and expansion while choosing a form factor. While smaller form factors are reasonable for common forms, ATX is the most compact and has the most highlights.
Component Quality
Great components promote dependability and strength. Search for motherboards with high-quality capacitors, heat sinks, and power phases. These components help performance and strength. Surveys and appraisals assist you with evaluating X670 motherboard quality.
Overclocking
Assuming that you plan to overclock your CPU, make sure your motherboard supports it. Although some models have preferred overclocking highlights over the X670 motherboard, it is intended for it. Check for powerful power supplies, cooling solutions, and overclocking Profile settings. With appropriate support, overclocking is steady and effective.
Conclusion
Selecting the right X670 motherboard requires understanding your needs and matching them to its elements. Consider socket type, budget, expansion slots, compatibility, USB/SATA ports, form factor, component quality, and overclocking. By considering these factors, you can choose an X670 motherboard that suits your needs and enhances your computing experience. The right motherboard is the groundwork of a dependable and powerful system, whether you're constructing a budget system or a high-end gaming rig.
