#i'm so frustrated i've just wanted to come home for several days and now i'm here and it's just one problem after another#i had to leave a window open because of the heatwave that was fully 8 days ago because i wasn't gonna be home in the meantime#and apparently they mulched the yard during that time and it blew in the window and got all over the room. which i haven't cleaned yet#also i discovered today that when i flush the toilet it spurts water all over the floor!#and i'm already so tired and sad and i don't have the bandwidth to deal with anything#this toilet thing is an urgent problem but i'm not going to call the emergency hotline right now because they'll just make me stay#up all night waiting for them and i'm already so tired i'm crying from tiredness#so i'm just gonna try not to flush the toilet anymore but like. i just wanted to be home where it's calm and familiar#and now i have to stress about flushing the toilet and have strangers in here (best case scenario anyway. worst case is they#ignore me and don't fix the problem) and probably still be tired because i'm going to be too anxious to sleep well#i'm just so TIRED i just want to REST#and i was texting my friend about it and LOST SERVICE in the middle which has never happened before in my apartment#that was the final straw and now i'm just sitting here weeping feeling sorry for myself#i hate this fucking property management company why can't they just keep their units habitable

I hope I get to work at this location again. The residents are all so sweet about the managers (one of them kept on offering me treats as they were all running around and setting up the decorations for Halloween for the old ppl and children 🥺) and the main property manager said that I was a delight and that he’ll leave a good word for me with my agency 😭! Everyone was so nice to me and all of the old ppl kept on coming up to the front desk and talking to me 😭. So cute…
#rambling#the only crappy thing is the fact that this place is extremely far#outside of Chicago bro#but the area is so nice there’s sm things around the apartment complex#I hope they ask for me to work more days there if they need the coverage 😭#this is the best place out of all of the other places they’ve sent me it’s so easy going and everyone#is extremely friendly#all of the old ppl kept on trying to pronounce my name and some even remembered my name from yesterday#I feel bad since I didn’t remember there’sjssjj#the apartment building only accepts 55+ residents from what I’ve seen and it even says that on the building#it’s not an old folks home tho#I figured that the property manager probably didn’t feel like dealing with younger ppl who would be more of a hassle to deal with#they run in and out all day and cause a lot of problems#old ppl just want to get home and chill they don’t be on nothing#they don’t even have an overnight staff for the front desk either#I’m guessing is because most of the residents are older folks so they won’t cause too many problems vs younger demographics

#so I work at like seasonal job multiple stores and shit some more far out and in the boonies than others#and like before I was at my current job I managed this shitshow camp store#literally was so horrible but only bcs my boss sucked and pushed all his responsibilities to me while I still had to do MY JOB#like darkest time of my life trying to keep that store from falling apart until eventually I was like fuck this#transferee to a different property in a different state and like stalked this lady who would come help us and she hired me as her assistant#like truly amazing I love her so much my boss is the fucking best#but now at my property we have a camp store with no manager being run to the ground#so they asked me to go manage it…#and lLIKEEEE ITS IN THE HIGH CIUNTRY#SOOO NO SERVICE LIVING IN A TENT SHARED SHOWER DORMS#IM SO EXCITEDDD#and also I’ll be at 9k feet elevation SO ILL SEE STARSS!#im at 5thoussnd feet rn and it’s just not the same#my shitty store was at 7 thousand but the year before I lived at 8 thousand feet and the stars are so magical#but everyone else I work with feels bad I ‘have to’ go up there and run the store for a few weeks#I’m like literally MY PLEASURE#working in a camp store is literally summer camp vibes#and I’m such a retail girl boss they didn’t even brief me they were like you know how to open and close a store#AND I DONT HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF INVOICESSS#that was my nightmare at the last place like they taught all the managers how to recieve and pay invoices but no one else really understood#sooo like a day before months end when invocies HAVE to be paid I’d get stacks from every store on property#and like just my store was already a lot to go through bcs we did groceries and gas and beer and retail merch#but lol I came to my current place and they have a whole office just for that lotta sweet lady’s in accounting I’m like damn??#they did me so dirty????#best part about being a warehouse girl with previous retail management experience is thissss#pray for me though I haven’t managed other humans in 2 years and they’re union employees so I just have to follow all the rules#love the union but I’m scared of breaking any labor laws since I’ve never managed humans in the state in living in#last state was horrible there was no lunch break laws
