I need a completely rewritten teen wolf series with Derek Hale as the main character. I think it would heal me.
#we follow Derek from New York. Laura left for beacon hills. it’s been six years since he was back but he hasn’t heard from her#and hes going stir crazy waiting. he packs up and travels back. it’s almost too much immediately. he still can’t get a hold of Laura#he can’t resist going home. it’s like a natural pull that guides him back. all at once he’s 16 again. staring at the wreckage of his life#deputy stilinski is sherrif now. it’s reassuring in the slightest that the police force seems to have moved on from how corrupt it was#he catches her scent and it’s putrid. bile catches in his throat. he seeks it out. still in denial to what he knows it means.#when he finds Laura it’s like the world ends all over again. he can’t stand to see her like this. he gives her a proper burial.#the best he can do at least#he visits Peter. he’s not the man Derek remembers- so full of fire and cunning. their relationship may have been strained at times.#often Derek felt more like Eve being swayed by the snake than a normal friendship#but this isn’t the sharp tongued uncle who guided him. this is a broken shell. all that remained of his family. he was so lost.#22 but he barely knew how to function without his family- his pack paving the way#Laura handled everything. she got the apartment. she made sure they had food. Derek looks back and feels so useless#he was so lost in his grief. Laura must of felt the same way but she never let them drown in it#she made sure he got his GED. even got him to enroll in community college classes.#he took them online. he never was able to warm up to people the same way. he used to be so full of life. now he just wanted to be left alone#he studied English. never finished his degree. doesn’t look like he ever will now. he can’t go back to Laura and his shared home.#can’t bare to see another shell of a home#he vents to the vacant audience of Peter and his cold fixed eyes#Derek leaves. he wants to promise he’ll return soon#but promises feel costly these days#he decides to go back to the reserve. maybe he can find some clue as to what happened to Laura#someone lured her here. someone who knew them and their history here#his mind went to the worst. Kate. why would she go through the trouble six years later. why wait so long.#Derek couldn’t stomach the thought of facing her. he focused on the woods. the scents were all over the place.#clearly multiple people had been through here recently. two scents were much stronger. Derek follows them#but when he hears the crunch of leaves he realizes why the scents are so strong. they’re still here#he ducks behind some trees. listening in on their conversation. but an echo of their scent catches his attention#he spots an inhaler on the ground. he puts two and two together and swipes it from the leaves.#he comes out once they’re closer. tossing over the inhaler- he figures they’ll leave. dumb kids messing around in the woods#he reminds them this is private property. though that may not be true anymore. he recognizes the scent of a new beta. interesting.

stressed rant :)
still haven’t found a place to live near uni and i’m getting very stressed about it; i’ve sent an email to an agent about an appt but haven’t heard back and i think i have to call them (i fucking hate phone calls) but there’s another place that’s much cheaper but farther from campus (idk if the campus bus goes near it?? might have to walk a while and then take the bus to get to the studio which will be esp difficult if im carrying art supplies or a big piece)
i wanted to move in on the sixth bc my parents would be able to spend the night in town after moving me in but that’s so fucking soon and i feel so bad for putting this off for so long (even tho i wasn’t rly putting it off all the places i found were just not available when i needed them and idfk what im doing) (also mom suspects i’ve been putting it off bc it makes me so anxious and she’s probably right)
luckily term starts sept 23 so i don’t RLY need a place until then but i wanted to move in before mom starts work (she’s a teacher) bc i wanted to get it done so she doesn’t have to worry about it and i wanted time to settle and finish my exhibition piece before term starts
living on campus would be so much easier but living in halls my first year actually traumatised me and i can’t do that shit again; also i rly want my own bathroom and washing machine but this town is fucking expensive im dying
#might delete#im just very stressed rn#trying not to be bc my best friend is visiting until next week and i’m stoked#but also i don’t have a place to live when uni starts#and i kinda rly need one#and i need a job#but i have Issues that interfere w everything#the parents (bless them) complain that im too picky#my psychiatrist thinks i may be autistic#shocker

I've always been a bit of a spontaneous traveler, so when I stumbled upon OneAir, I was immediately intrigued. They promised to deliver amazing cheap travel deals right to my inbox, unlocking exclusive access to unpublished private rates from over 700 global airlines and more than 2 million top-rated hotel brands worldwide. It sounded almost too good to be true, but I decided to give it a shot.
Last month, I was itching for a getaway and had my sights set on Italy. According to my research, Rome is the best place to visit in May. The weather is perfect, and the crowds haven't yet reached their summer peak. I subscribed to OneAir and, within days, received an email with an irresistible deal: a round-trip flight to Rome and a four-night stay at a luxurious hotel for a fraction of what I would normally pay.
Booking through OneAir was seamless. The user-friendly interface made it easy to navigate the different options, and I was thrilled with the customer service. They were responsive and eager to assist with any questions I had. The whole process was smooth from start to finish, which is a rarity when dealing with travel bookings.
When I arrived in Rome, everything was as promised. The hotel was exquisite, and the flight was comfortable, with no hidden fees or unpleasant surprises. I spent my days exploring the historical sites, indulging in delicious Italian cuisine, and soaking up the vibrant culture. Thanks to OneAir, I got to experience Rome at its finest, without breaking the bank.

It's hilarious how the notes clearly show what climate you're used to. Canadians are laughing at the idea of that being impossibly cold; Australians are laughing at the idea of that being impossibly hot.
And for everyone complaining that there's a limit to how many layers of clothes you can remove: in the heat, you can get into cool water. There are simple ways to deal with it, even if you don't have air-conditioning.
I remember in high school my geography teacher said humans will choose to live in unbeatable heat over unbearable cold, but nearly every single person I've met in my life has said they'd rather die in the cold than live in the heat, so now I thought to myself why not outsource this question!
no fahrenheit because if i have to google the answers on polls with no celcius, so do you
#if the weather never got above -5C? that is APOCALYPSE WEATHER#I would do my best to survive it but I'd be miserable and angry at constantly being cold#and never going outside#over 35C is uncomfortably hot#like I'm not going to be sitting outside sunbaking in it#but I'm probably outside swimming in fresh water in the shade#and given how much greenery I noticed when we visited Dubai you'd definitely be able to grow plants and food with a bit of knowhow#it appeals a lot more than hunkering down in a bunker#but for the record I live in a place that does hit over 35C for maybe 5 days each summer#winter nights may hit -1C occasionally but the days are at least 10C
