The Benefits of Resin Bound Paving: A Durable and Attractive Solution for Your Outdoor Spaces
When it comes to upgrading your outdoor spaces, resin bound paving is becoming an increasingly popular choice for homeowners and businesses alike. Known for its smooth, aesthetically pleasing appearance and durable qualities, resin bound paving offers a range of benefits that make it an excellent choice for driveways, walkways, patios, and more. In this article, we’ll explore what resin bound paving is, how it’s installed, and the key advantages of choosing this paving solution for your property.
Definition of Resin Bound Paving:
Resin bound paving is a type of surface finish that combines natural aggregates (like gravel, stones, or pebbles) with a high-quality resin to create a smooth, durable, and attractive surface. The aggregates are carefully mixed with the resin and spread onto the prepared base layer, creating a strong bond between the stones and resin. This mixture is then smoothed out to create a seamless surface with no loose stones. Resin bound paving can be used for a variety of outdoor applications, including driveways, pathways, patios, and even around swimming pools.
 1. Durability and Strength
One of the primary reasons why resin bound paving is so highly regarded is its durability. The combination of high-quality resin and natural aggregates results in a surface that can withstand heavy foot traffic, vehicles, and harsh weather conditions. Resin bound surfaces are resistant to cracking, fading, and damage from UV rays, which ensures that the paved area will maintain its appearance and functionality for years to come.
 2. Aesthetically Pleasing and Customizable
Resin bound paving offers a wide range of aesthetic options, allowing you to customize your outdoor space to suit your personal style. The aggregate stones come in a variety of colors and textures, from natural earthy tones to vibrant, contemporary colors. You can even combine different colors of stone to create unique patterns and designs that match your home’s exterior or complement your landscaping.
Tumblr media
 3. Low Maintenance
Unlike traditional gravel or stone driveways, which often require regular maintenance to prevent weeds, moss, or loose stones, resin bound paving is incredibly low-maintenance. Because the aggregate stones are securely bound together with the resin, there is no loose gravel to shift around, which means you won’t have to worry about stones getting displaced or weeds growing through the surface.
Cleaning resin bound paving is simple—just wash it with a hose or use a mild detergent to remove any dirt or stains. This makes it a perfect solution for busy homeowners who want an attractive outdoor space without the hassle of constant upkeep.
 Conclusion
Resin bound paving offers a host of benefits that make it a fantastic choice for anyone looking to upgrade their outdoor spaces. From its durability and strength to its aesthetic versatility and low maintenance, this paving solution can transform your driveway, walkway, or patio into a beautiful and functional area. Whether you're looking for a modern, sleek appearance or a more natural look, resin bound paving can be customized to suit your style and needs. Plus, its environmentally friendly properties and quick installation make it a smart choice for those looking to enhance their property while minimizing upkeep. For a long-lasting, attractive, and practical outdoor surface, resin bound paving is definitely worth considering.

Why Stone Paving is the Perfect Choice for Scottsdale Homes
Tumblr media
Stone paving is becoming an increasingly popular choice for homeowners in Scottsdale, and for good reason. From its durability to its aesthetic appeal, stone paving offers numerous benefits that make it the ideal option for enhancing the outdoor spaces of homes in this unique desert city. As a trusted name in the industry, Stone Paver Scottsdale is here to explore why stone paving is the perfect choice for your Scottsdale home.
Durability and Longevity
One of the most compelling reasons to choose stone paving is its unmatched durability. Scottsdale’s hot desert climate, with its extreme temperatures and occasional heavy rains, demands materials that can withstand harsh conditions. Stone paving materials such as granite, travertine, and slate are incredibly resilient and can endure the intense heat without cracking or fading. Unlike concrete, which can suffer from thermal expansion and contraction, stone maintains its integrity over time, ensuring that your paved surfaces remain beautiful and functional for years to come.
Aesthetic Appeal
The natural beauty of stone paving is hard to beat. Each stone is unique, with its own texture, color, and pattern, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication to your outdoor spaces. Whether you’re looking to create a rustic, old-world charm with cobblestone, a sleek, modern look with polished granite, or a warm, inviting atmosphere with travertine, there’s a stone paving option to suit your aesthetic preferences.
In Scottsdale, where outdoor living is a way of life, the visual appeal of your outdoor spaces is crucial. Stone paving can transform patios, walkways, driveways, and pool decks into stunning focal points that enhance the overall curb appeal of your home. The versatility of stone also allows for creative design possibilities, from intricate mosaics to simple, clean lines, ensuring that your outdoor spaces reflect your personal style.
Low Maintenance
Homeowners in Scottsdale often seek low-maintenance solutions for their outdoor areas, given the demanding climate. Stone paving fits this requirement perfectly. Unlike wood decking or other materials that require regular staining, sealing, or painting, stone paving is relatively low maintenance. Simple cleaning with water and mild detergent is usually sufficient to keep it looking pristine.
Additionally, stone paving is resistant to pests, such as termites, which can be a concern with wood materials. Its natural resistance to wear and tear means you won’t have to worry about frequent repairs or replacements, saving you time and money in the long run.
Cooler Surface Temperatures
Walking barefoot on a hot surface can be uncomfortable and even painful. One of the advantages of stone paving is its ability to stay cooler than other materials, such as concrete or asphalt, even in the scorching Scottsdale sun. Certain types of stone, like travertine, have excellent heat-reflective properties, making them ideal for pool decks and patio areas where you want to keep the surface temperature down.
This feature not only enhances comfort but also contributes to the usability of your outdoor spaces during the peak summer months when temperatures can soar above 100°F. With stone paving, you can enjoy your outdoor areas without worrying about burning your feet or the surfaces becoming too hot to touch.
Environmental Benefits
Stone paving is an eco-friendly choice for your Scottsdale home. Natural stone is a sustainable material that doesn’t require chemical treatments or extensive manufacturing processes, reducing its environmental impact. Additionally, stone’s durability means it doesn’t need to be replaced as often as other materials, further minimizing waste.
Permeable stone paving options, such as porous granite or limestone, can also help with water management. These materials allow rainwater to seep through the surface and into the ground, reducing runoff and promoting natural groundwater recharge. In a region like Scottsdale, where water conservation is vital, choosing permeable stone paving can contribute to more sustainable landscaping practices.
Increased Property Value
Investing in high-quality stone paving can significantly increase the value of your home. Potential buyers are often attracted to homes with well-designed and well-maintained outdoor spaces. Stone paving not only enhances the visual appeal but also signals that the property is built with durable and high-quality materials.
In a competitive real estate market like Scottsdale, having beautifully paved outdoor areas can set your home apart from others and potentially lead to higher resale value. It’s an investment that pays off both in terms of immediate enjoyment and long-term financial return.
Customization Options
One of the standout features of stone paving is the ability to customize your outdoor spaces to meet your specific needs and preferences. With a wide range of stone types, colors, and patterns available, you can create a truly unique look that complements your home’s architecture and landscape design.
Whether you want a formal, structured layout with precise geometric patterns or a more organic, free-form design that blends seamlessly with the natural surroundings, stone paving offers endless possibilities. The ability to mix and match different stones and incorporate decorative elements, such as borders and inlays, allows for a high level of personalization.
Stone paving is undeniably the perfect choice for Scottsdale homes, offering a combination of durability, aesthetic appeal, low maintenance, and environmental benefits. It enhances the beauty and functionality of outdoor spaces while providing long-term value and sustainability. At Stone Paver Scottsdale, we are committed to helping homeowners transform their properties with the timeless elegance and resilience of stone paving. Black Light 8
Warnings: namecalling, violence, other dark elements. Proceed with caution.
Note: thank you for waiting! Please let me know what you think as it helps me a lot with ideas and I love interacting with you all.
Part of The Club AU
Tumblr media
Jazzercise in the park sounded like a great idea when you signed-up. You didn't put much thought to the demographic until you showed up. Amid the grannies dressed in their most neon oranges and hottest of pinks, you stick out like a sore thumb. Still, you don't mind the excuse for some fresh air and to make some friends.
A sheen of sweat breaks out on your forehead and you feel the fitness flowing through you. You look over at Gladys as she nearly puts you to shame with her spry lunges. You sigh and look to your other side, wishing Hottie was there. Too bad she has work.
You follow the instructor, a woman in her late fifties, Sonya. She hops and bops to the vibes of Wham as she hollers at you to get moving. You find yourself bouncing all over the place, the pedestrians along the path and the sitters on the benches watching at all angles. You might look ridiculous but it feels great.
You jump a bit too far back and crash into another body. You expect Meredith and her tight spirals flowing over a sweatband, but instead find yourself on the path, nearly stampeded by the large body heaving and sweating. You get your balance and untangle yourself from the stranger. Not a stranger at all.
August's curls are slightly dampened with his sweat, his skin glistening, as he wears a sleeveless black muscles shirt and even drabber shorts. A little colour wouldn't hurt.
"You," he snarls as he steps back.
"You!" You cheep brightly, "are you here for Jazzercise too?"
"What? I'm running--- Typical. I just can't seem to shake you. Like a bad cold."
"Hm, is there a such thing as a good cold?" You tap your lip, "maybe if it helps you build immunity--"
"Enough," he checks his watch and sighs, looking down the winding paved path, "I don't have time for this."
"I don't either," you put on a scowl, "you know, I'm out here tryna get in shape and you're running into people--"
"You jumped in my way," he accuses.
"My bad," you put your hands up and step off the pavement, "as you were."
You spin and dismiss him. You come join Gladys as she runs in place and you focus on Meredith's barking demands. Whew, this is awesome but you're gonna be in bed for at least a day recovering.
🧸
You walk home alone, enjoying the sunshine and the song birds flying around the statues. You follow the trail to the gates and onto the street. It's not very far from home, a couple blocks if that. You feel the adrenaline fading and the nip of fatigue that underlies it. You can't wait to chill, and maybe take a shower.
You pull at your shirt, trying to air out your sweaty torso. As you turn onto the next avenue, you hear a step out of rhythm. You look over your shoulder but only find a Ford Fiesta driving down the road. You shrug and carry on.
As you come to your house, you see the drive way is empty. It's not surprising. Your mom and dad are social people, more so since you aged into college. Hottie says it's a midlife crisis, but you expect they just feel free now that you're and adult. Well, you do your best.
You hop up the steps and take out your keys. You leave it unlocked as you stop to take off your shoes. The only thing on your mind is a tall refreshing glass of water. You don't think orange pop is a great post-work out refresher, as bubbly as it is.
You go into the kitchen and fill a glass. You head out to the deck, leaving the sliding door open as you sit in the shade. You drain almost half the glass before setting it aside on the patio table. You lean forward and undo your fanny pack, putting it next to the water.
You lean back and close your eyes. You really should get washed up. You're a little smelly. Oh, maybe Hottie's done. You can't remember when she said she worked until.
You drag yourself to your feet and finish the water. You leave the empty glass in the kitchen and stop to look at the crooked whiteboard on the fridge. You fix it and turn your attention to your phone.
Your mom texted you during the class. Her and your dad drove up to your aunt's for their big summer blowout. The same one they seem to have every week or so.
You go upstairs and to your room. You undress a piece at a time. The body suit wasn't a great choice as you peel it away from your skin and the leggings catch around your ankle. Ew, you feel nasty.
You wrap yourself in a fresh towel and walk down the hall to the bathroom as you message Hottie to check in. It's a perfect night for a sleepover. Your dad always drinks too much when he's around your uncle.
You put your phone on the counter and swing the door behind you, not caring that it doesn't clasp. You put the towel over the bar and slide back the frosted door. You bend to crank on the faucet letting the water heat before stepping under it.
You bask in the steam and wash away the residue of your workout. You take your time, a rare chance to do so. You step out and find the whole room foggy. Jeez, like a sauna or whatever.
You grab your towel and pat yourself dry, swathing yourself in the cotton before letting the steam out into the hall. You hum that George Michael diddy as you come down to your room and hit the high note just as you find an unexpected figure on the foot of your bed. It's not your teddy bear.
Your heart drops and you barely keep the towel from doing the same.
"August?" You gape in confusion, has the steam made you delirious?
He smirks, the first time you've seen anything but fury in his features. You gulp loudly and clutch the knot of the towel. You don't like that little light in his eyes, like a wolf about to feast.

A Garden for Madeleine from Am the ghost at the end of the song?
She and Mathilde can never go back to the house on the lake. It would always be a place they had been forced to run from. When Q asked what she would miss most, Madeleine confessed it was her summer tomatoes and her bed of foxgloves.  “We can build you a garden,” Q says.
Tumblr media
This story is about the relationships Q and Madeleine had with Bond, and the one they have with one another.
Chapter 3: Repetitions of Snow is now up!
The Garden
With a small paved patio garden, Madeleine had to be creative. Good thing she has her friend Celyn (ops sorry) Q to help her design and build something meaningful.
First they picked a few veggies. Some grow well using a hydroponic system - aubergines, cucumbers and a variety of lettuces. Best to test out the system this summer, then it can be expanded! At least tomatoes were easy - they do well in hanging baskets. And since Mathilde will miss the wild strawberries they used to gather, he found a good substitute for her.
Second, it was time to pick herbs for the vertical garden. Q put together a quick list. Growing up in France, Madeleine would need those flavors she grew up cooking with - like parsley, tarragon, chervil. But, he also knew she made Italian food when she was sad. They don't talk about his, but he included those flavors too - rosemary and basil especially. Madeleine however knows that Q loves coriander (she thinks it tastes like soap) so she added it to the list.
Third, Q has to sort out flower beds of some sort. Probably raised boxes? There must be some place to grow foxgloves, lavender and hollyhock which are all good plants for pollinators. They agreed forget-me-nots are a must too.
And of course, they need a bit of whimsy for Mathilde. Which is why Q is ordering flamingos, and Madeleine is taking Mathilde to second hand shops for teapots, cups and saucers. Nothing like a little Alice in Wonderland magic!

Your Best Shot - Chapter 5
Sherlock sat by the fire fireplace as John paced the reception room of the Mews.
"He’s had the compulsory neurological examination. It tests the extent of the injury and whether or not their responses are fully functioning. Testing his motor nerves, including muscle tone and weakness, sensory nerves, reflexes. Testing Greg’s reflexes will determine how his bladder and bowel movement have been affected. Control of that unsurprisingly is what worries patients the most. An independent man like Lestrade?-more so. He’s home now and…” John plopped into a chair, and rubbed hard at his face - his frustration on display..
John knew Sherlock knew all of that, he did.
While Sherlock still carried on conversations with Billy the Skull on occasion, much to the amusement of their offspring, when John needed to sound things out - it had to be a living person. Who else but the smartest person he knows - his omega?
“He’s… I can’t say coping, Sherlock . .” John rose out of the chair again to pace again. “I can’t…”
“He’s a dear friend, he’s family…he’s hurting.” Sherlock made a rare statement of the obvious. “And you’re a doctor, a remarkable doctor, John, and you can’t help him .”
“Jesus! I fucking know that!” John exploded, then sat again dejected.”I’m sorry love - Yeah, all of that… And guilty...”
“What do you mean?”
“When it all happened… He was on the ground and I was behind him trying to staunch the blood…” John looked askance as the memory of that fateful moment came back to him. “I was trying to  -- I don’t know…feel for it? I felt… something … wrong…”
“Well yes, his paralysis…”
“No,” John cut him off. “Well maybe yes - but I touched something and it was hurting me - my back seized up for a moment and I instinctively pushed back for lack of a better way to describe it.”
“You… pushed back …?”
“Yes..” John dropped his head into his hands. ““I’m a doctor, Omega. Lesson One is always: Primum Non Nocere .”
Sherlock walked over and crouched before his alpha. He switched to mindspeak.
{What exactly are you not saying alpha…?}
{When someone or someone physically hurts you unexpectedly… You either recoil or …}
(...Or you push back.} Sherlock’s lips pursed as understanding dawned..(You were tending to Lestrade and something from him hurt you and you instinctively pushed back..}
{Yes.}
{And you fear whatever it was when you pushed back…}
“I just know I touched something in Greg’s back that hurt me so I shoved it away from me. What if in my not knowing, I shoved too hard? What if what happened to him is my fault?”
“You don’t know that you did that, John.”
“And I don’t know that I didn’t .”
John’s voice was incredibly small as the Alpha’s proud shoulders slumped.
“Sherlock ...I think…I think “I” broke him. .”
Greg sat in the living room, looking out the patio window. The rain pattern of raindrop as it splattered against the paving stones.
More like shattered against the stones, as shattered as my spine, he thought bitterly.
People were talking: his physical therapist, his…nurse…Mycroft… They were discussing him, and he heard them but he was not truly listening.
“Gregory?” Mycroft touched his shoulder. They were alone in the room, he had not noticed the departure of his physical therapist and nurse. "Penny for your thoughts?"
The physical therapist was one thing: Greg understood needing to keep his leg muscles in tone. It was still early and like the lottery - you never know…
But the nurse really had one sole job and Greg did not want him. Or any nurse from that matter. At. All.
“I’m sorry Myc, I kind of zoned out there.” Greg admitted sheepishly.
“It wasn’t noticed.” Mycroft teased. “Abrahms will be back tomorrow for your PT. Malloy will not return.”
Greg blinked, satisfied, but surprised nonetheless. “Really?”
“He had one job, one that you have essentially refused to let him do.”
“For fuck’s sake Mycroft. His one job was to clean up my shit and check my arse and my nappy to make sure I’m not getting a rash!” Greg huffed. “I don’t need the first one, I’ve become damn good at changing myself. And as for the latter I have you. At least you already know what my arse looks like even if it is getting flabby.”
“Speaking of…”
“Hey!”
“You said it…” Mycroft chuckled “Do you want to watch telly down here before dinner or are you ready to head up?”
“Are you working?”
“Unfortunately, I must…”
“Then I’ll stay here for now. See you in a bit.”
“In a bit…” Mycroft leaned in for a kiss before he headed for the office.
Greg watched as Mycroft’s long legs strolled away and did not even pretend he was not checking his husband out. He did not think twice about palming himself until he realized…
Oh… Oh..? Oh! I’m HARD!
“ALPHA!”
Mycroft had stopped dead in his tracks. His husband’s sudden amorous joy came loud and clear through their bond before Gregory called out.  He slowly turned and casually leaned against a column, his voice smooth as silk. “Really, Beta?”
It was not something they discussed yet. Neither had brought up the subject, not wanting to upset the other, but it had hung between them each night since Greg came home.It was a most happy revelation to know that while adjustments must be made to do it, the question of IF was no longer a question.
“Really, Alpha!” Greg mischievously grinned, his hand emphasizing the increased tenting that even feeling it through the adult pull it up did not lessen its joy. “ Still have work you must do …?”
“Yes, but apparently not for Crown and Country.” Mycroft’s blue-grey eyes slowly grew dark and lecherous.
He counted himself lucky that he had Mycroft as his partner and Alpha. And was so very grateful they lived in a home with a lift.
He could lay in his own bed with his husband beside him and maybe not love him as he used to, but make love with him nonetheless. He wheeled himself towards Mycroft.
“Race you!”
----
Greg woke in the morning, laying down beside him - for a moment for a beautiful, pristine moment it was as though his life had not changed.
In fact, he had smiled as he reached out for Mycroft, who smiled in return next to him.
Then that smile slowly faltered as they kissed. Greg knew .
And just like that, their bed was the very last place Greg wanted to be.
Greg turned away from his husband as fast as his body allowed.
“Do you want…?” Mycroft asked softly after a moment.
“No! I do not fucking want! Not at all!” Greg yelled as he pounded their bed.
They knew it would happen. Everything was prepared for it. Still, the fore knowledge did not help in the living moment of just the two of them.
Mycroft, bless his soul, did not take umbrage at his yelling. Which made Greg feel all the more guilty as his husband reached for a dressing gown and slowly left the room to give him privacy.
After a point even toddlers will remove a solid nappy, but toddlers are accustomed to someone cleaning them until they learn to clean themselves. Nearly all understand the unspoken shame of not being able to control one’s bodily functions past the tender early years. And it has been several decades since Greg was a tender child.
He has been told, and since read about millions who were either born and learned to live with, or like him have had to suddenly adjust to such a life.Logically he understands this, he does.
It was an arduous process. check that everything was contained, then pull himself out of the bed into the waiting wheelchair and check again because of the shifting and then get to the bathroom to do the actual change.
Yes, it would have been faster, and certainly easier to let Mycroft help. And it certainly is not because he has not Greg’s arse. But he has not seen it like this .
But no, Greg simply… could not .
Still, Greg had felt more disgusted with himself for yelling at Mycroft than he felt from the feel of the soilness now against his skin to be cleaned.
“FUCK!”

ok if you start typing a post title and then backspace you lose the entire field to have a post title and there's no way to get it back, so here we are, untitled.
So I spent two weeks at the farm, and was trialing Adderall, and it was sort of impossible to make any judgements about the medication because when I'm at the farm there's such a routine and task lists and stuff it's easy to just follow along, which is part of the reason I go there. But now I'm home and after a three-minute video consulation that cost $210 after insurance I am just doing two more weeks of the same thing. So I'm going to try to conscientiously log symptoms and side effects and things, so that at my next $200+ consultation I can get like some actual advice maybe.
(Whatever. I have the money in my HSA I might as well.)
So I'll go on about that after the cut probably but first: Eclipse!
My niece and mom are coming to hang for the eclipse, and my mother-not-law will join us. We may end up hanging out at her house or at mine, I'm meant to be scouting locations-- there are many many events going on locally, some free and some not, but there is also an estimated tourist load of about three million excess people expected in the region, and I just feel like traffic is going to be so terrible. I don't want to go anywhere I have to drive to! And I don't want to be stuck sitting in a venue somewhere.
So I'm gonna come up with snacks and a couple of activities (probably involving cameras!) at my house or at M-N-L's if her view is better (she has a paved patio that faces south so I suspect it will be; my best vantage point is my unshaded concrete stoop, as my sunporch has a western view and is not totally unimpeded).
Ideas for snacks and activities welcome, my starter list below the cut.
Activities:
Beforehand, I will get either white or black t-shirts, and we can decorate them with dye or bleach, and make ourselves commemmorative shirts. I have everything I need for this but the shirts.
Set up a camera on a tripod to record the eclipse? Set up another one pointed at a white sheet to record shadows.
Have several objects prepared to cast shadows with. I probably can't get a leafy branch this time of year, but a couple of colanders, a grid or something, a stretch of lace, that kind of thing, mounted in embroidery hoops or whatever, to look at the cool shadow shapes.
Of course I have eclipse glasses.
Snacks: oh i can't put this one in bullet points thanks tumblr, no i don't want this to be a gigantic asterisk never mind
frosted cookies cheese plate we can pretend are in festive shapes, my ass is not going to bother with that vegetables lol
Anyway I'm still sorta brainstorming that. My niece is ten, so it's not like i need little-kid stuff, I just want things that will actually be cool to observe. I haven't researched this yet I just remember watching leaf shadows at the 2017 eclipse.
So that's that. Currently I'm tidying the house kinda lowkey, because it's in better shape than usual and also it's just BIL and niece stopping overnight, but it's a good trial run of the guest bedroom. I'm mostly there and am on a 15-min break just now. Still have to set up the guest bed which means moving shit out of the way in that room.
Now: Symptom log.
Adderall makes me very dehydrated. I drink and drink and drink until I can't stand water anymore, and I'm still sorta thirsty and I pee like. Twice a day at most. Kinda weird.
During the two weeks at the farm I had one incidence of a terrible 20-hour headache, and another incidence of vertigo, and I think both were just plain dehydration, because I was drinking water like a normal slightly thirsty person. No, I need to have a huge mug next to me at all times and just drink out of it every couple of minutes. it's intense.
I also sweat really easily. it doesn't seem to be affecting my actual stamina; I get overheated and kind of huff and puff with light activity, but once I'm moving I'm fine and can do a normal day's amount of work without undue fatigue. I'm not sweating enough to explain the dehydration, but I am sweating a whole lot more than normal for this time of year. I may have problems with this in the heat and am already preparing to give that some thought.
Insomnia: not really anything outside my normal. I've had problems for a few years where I'll not be able to sleep, or will wake ultra-early and have trouble returning to sleep, and I've continued with this but no more often than normal and have in fact had several *very* good nights of sleep. I also, the first or second day I took this stuff, had an *incredible* nap around 2pm when I think the dose wore off, and then slept fine that same night. So. I feel kind of lucky with that and will not complain.
But: what is the medication actually doing?? Is my concentration better?
Short answer: not that I've noticed. Hard to observe, at the farm; there's an external schedule there, and I've never had much trouble just getting on that. It's something I've done for years; I love hitching a ride on a household's schedule and then I don't miss meals or lose hours to accidental procrastination. "What's got to get done today? Here's the list, pick what you want and when to do it" has always been my ideal situation. I was able to accomplish more than the list most days, and my motivation was good, and as usual my limitation was not drive but physical pain. (Yes, the PT has helped my bad hip so much, but my "good" hip was a bastard the entire time, with the awful radiating nerve pain from my knee through my lower back. Don't like that, PT isn't fixing that nearly so well.)
So, now that I'm at home, I've had two days totally on my own schedule, and the results are uh. not good. I still don't know how to make my own to-do lists very well, still don't have any clear notion of what I can expect to achieve in a day, still don't really know how to break down tasks well, and super don't know how to initiate them. I fell back on my old junebugging ways, where you just say "ok go!" and do whatever pops into your mind in the order it occurs to you, and hope some of the things on your list get done, and that's got me through a fair bit of housecleaning and putting my stuff away and such.
But I've been having, the same as or more than usual, problems where I pause and then get stuck. I go to pee and wind up on my phone on the toilet scrolling some app or other until my leg falls asleep. I go in the kitchen intending to make lunch and wind up staring out the window a while. I set out to do the dishes and wind up cleaning every window I can reach.
So it's frustrating, I can't tell if this is better or worse than before, and I also think the medication wears off in the early afternoon so my effective window of testing is really short and not really getting me anywhere. But we'll see, I still have a week and a half so I will try some more non-medical frameworks to see if I can't prop the meds up into giving me some more function. And yes, I'm sorta recovering from the relocation, that's always an issue, so maybe the last two days being not ideal are inevitable and I just have to settle more into routine. But that's frustrating.
Anyway. OK. Off my ass and back to work.

Choosing the Right Sebastian Pavers for Your Project
Selecting the perfect Sebastian Pavers for your outdoor project involves considering various factors to ensure you achieve the best results. Here’s a detailed guide to help you make an informed decision:
1. Purpose and Function
Determine the primary use of the area you’re paving. Different applications require specific considerations for durability, slip resistance, and aesthetic appeal:
Driveways: Choose thicker, more robust pavers that can handle the weight of vehicles and daily traffic.
Patios: Opt for pavers that balance style and durability, suitable for foot traffic and outdoor elements.
Walkways: Select pavers with slip-resistant surfaces to ensure safety.
Pool Decks: Consider pavers with textured surfaces to prevent slipping and heat absorption.
2. Design and Style
Consider the overall look you want to achieve. Sebastian Pavers offer a range of styles, including traditional brick, modern concrete, and rustic stone. Think about how the pavers will complement your home’s architecture and landscaping.
Traditional: Classic brick or cobblestone patterns create a timeless appeal.
Modern: Sleek, clean lines and geometric shapes provide a contemporary look.
Rustic: Natural stone or weathered finishes evoke an earthy, organic feel.
3. Color and Texture
The color and texture of the pavers should harmonize with your existing outdoor elements. Light colors can brighten up smaller areas, while darker hues add depth. Textured pavers enhance visual interest and provide practical benefits, such as improved traction.
4. Budget
Establish a realistic budget for your project. While Sebastian Pavers offer excellent value, costs can vary based on the type, size, and complexity of the design. Include additional expenses such as installation, base materials, and maintenance in your budget.
The Installation Process
Proper installation is crucial for the performance and longevity of your Sebastian Pavers. Here’s a step-by-step overview of the typical installation process:
1. Planning and Design
Site Assessment: Evaluate the area where the pavers will be installed. Consider factors such as drainage, grading, and soil type.
Design Layout: Create a detailed design plan, including the pattern, color scheme, and border options. Professional designers can help you make the best choices based on your preferences and site conditions.
2. Preparation
Excavation: Remove existing surface materials and excavate to the required depth. This ensures a stable base for the pavers.
Base Installation: Lay a compacted base layer of gravel or crushed stone. This provides drainage and stability for the pavers.
Edge Restraints: Install edge restraints to keep the pavers in place and prevent shifting.
3. Paver Installation
Laying Pavers: Begin laying the pavers according to the design plan. Use a string line or laser level to ensure straight rows and proper alignment.
Cutting and Fitting: Cut pavers as needed to fit around edges and corners, ensuring a seamless appearance.
4. Finishing Touches
Joint Sand: Fill the joints between the pavers with sand to lock them in place and prevent weed growth.
Compaction: Use a plate compactor to press the pavers into the base and settle the joint sand.
Sealing: Apply a sealant to protect the pavers from stains, moisture, and UV damage.

Sebastian Pavers offer endless design possibilities. Here are some creative ideas to inspire your next outdoor project:

1. Cleaning
Routine Cleaning: Sweep the surface regularly to remove debris and prevent staining.
Deep Cleaning: Use a mild detergent and a pressure washer to clean stubborn stains and dirt. Avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the pavers.
2. Sealing
Periodic Sealing: Apply a sealant every 1-3 years to protect the pavers from stains and weathering. Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for application.
3. Repairs
Repairing Cracks: Replace any damaged or cracked pavers promptly to prevent further issues. Remove the damaged paver, replace the base if necessary, and install a new paver.

Richie Hastings. Human.
[Excerpt below the cut!]
When Richie caught sight of the house, across a rolling green lawn, it actually caught his breath. It was huge, made of ancient-looking grey stone, with a tall roof of rolling gables and parapets. It was beautiful. If this was some kind of fancy school, Richie had no idea how Toby could afford it. The pair of them wore through their sneakers until water leaked in before they’d ever get new ones. But now he was living in some fancy old manor? For what? Have no concept of measurements, to be honest, but would say these grounds are significantly bigger than Hudson Grove Park. This house obviously belonged to someone rich, once, but I couldn’t find anything online. Which is even weirder. If this is a special school, why don’t they have a website? It gave him the creeps. He would glance up periodically, seconds apart between taking notes in his bullet journal. Just in case someone came out of the house with an old-timey rifle. Though for such a creepy looking place, the security seemed pretty lax. The second time he went back, he was able to get closer, skirting the edges of the grounds like a wild animal for almost an hour, and nobody even set foot outside. Side door seems to mainly be used by staff. No idea what’s on the other side, but would be subtler to try and open than the front door. More likely to be left unlocked than the front. The back door was going to be his best option; it didn’t take an amateur to see that from the get-go. Though the patio area wasn’t very well-lit after dark, the lights in the large living room just inside the doors seemed to always be on, the curtains always open. And the area just off the patio was paved with bushes of sweet-smelling flowers. Perfect for sneaking. If Toby was in the house, eventually he would show up inside those French doors. From what he could observe, and the notes he took down in his bullet journal, almost everyone he saw pass through the living room looked to be his and Toby’s age. The only adults passing through looked like staff. -Girl, teenage, pink braids. Very pretty. -Girl, teenage, purple hair, looks super shiny. Also very pretty. -Boy, dark hair, super pale. Teenage. Hot. His second most notable observation was that the teenagers hanging out in this place seemed weird. Weirdly attractive, sure, but also just weird. Richie couldn’t pinpoint what it was at first. But on his third night hiding in the bushes off the patio, he figured out what it was. Kind of. They moved like cats. Stalking cats, when their tails swished and they were looking for things to pounce on, playfully or otherwise. At one point, one of them, a girl with long ginger hair, turned to glance out the French doors, and it was like she was staring right at him. And he was scared. He was terrified, frozen like a mouse. Over a girl his age? Why did she strike such a primal instinct in him to run?

Note
if it’s ok can I request gardener renfield opening up a greenhouse :-)
Years after the death of Dracula, Robert Montague Renfield buys his first home. Well, technically it's his second home, but the first one was purchased well over a hundred years ago and for all he knows might have been knocked down and paved over to create a new by-pass.
Anyway.
Robert's settled in New Orleans, because it is where Dracula was dismembered and mixed with concrete and dumped into the sewer system and he'd like to keep an eye out for any vampiric shenanigans that may arise, but also because he's just tired of moving. He sells most of the objects d'art he's been lugging around the past century. He puts some in a storage unit though, out of a sour mix of nostalgia and dread- the stuffed raven, the stuffed albino fox, a few paintings, some bolts of fabric. The coffin.
"Dude, someone would pay millions for that coffin," his best friend Rebecca Quincy asserted the day Robert wheeled it out of the rented U-Haul and into storage. "There's some weird old rich guy out there who would totally want it. You don't have to keep it."
Robert swiped his arm across his brow. "Who'd buy this thing? Honestly? It's a lead box lined with the fur of some extinct animal. Give me a name."
Rebecca thought a moment. "Nicholas Cage?"
"Hasn't he already got a pyramid tomb?"
"Oh yeah... Well maybe he'd use Dracula's coffin as a coffee table or somethin'."
Robert shook his head. "Even if I had a way to contact Mister Cage, I doubt even someone of his, ah, eccentricity would want this." Robert shoved the coffin into the darkest corner of the storage unit. "No, it'll do just fine tucked back here."
Robert's new home is small-but bigger than his apartment with two bedrooms, one and a half bathrooms, and a full acre of yard space- and what the home renovation shows would call a "fixer upper" with "good bones." It makes him happy to work on it. He listens to music and the occasional psychology podcast as he polishes the original wood floors or paints the walls or rewires the light switches. It's therapeutic- he's gone from caring for a monster to caring for himself, and he has found that he enjoys making things bright.
The yard is a paradise for Robert. In the front yard he sticks a couple of those cheery plastic flamingoes he'd wanted for decades and puts in a white picket fence. He gives his home what the home renovation shows would call "great curb appeal." Perhaps superstitiously now, Robert makes sure to not buy a "welcome" mat, and he plants wolfsbane just inside the fence's perimeter. In his head he plays a very old memory of Doctor Van Helsing waving the wolfsbane in his face. It turned out that the man had been right- Dracula fucking hated this stuff.
His backyard is the bigger of the two yards and he decides quite early on he wants a greenhouse. Rebecca helps him build it (mostly because he promises to take her out somewhere nice for dinner, but also because she's his friend and she loves how happy he is). It's small, maybe a bit bigger than two tool sheds, but the inside walls have sturdy, wide shelves where he can start seeds, there's a toolbox with drawers for labels and waterproof markers and seed packets. Bags of soil and watering cans are carefully tucked under the shelves and garden spades varying in length hang from a little cork board propped up against a wall. Robert even refurbished an old battery powered radio and has it set to a station playing classical music, since that seems to be what plants like the most. There's fresh white gravel making up the floor and a thermometer hangs from a string of fairy lights tacked to the wooden frame of the glass door. Plans for a garden are scribbled on a pad of paper beside the toolbox.
Robert and Rebecca are on his little patio one evening, sitting in refurbished mid-century lawn chairs and drinking fizzy alcoholic drinks. Rebecca gestures to the greenhouse. "That turned out pretty good, didn't it?"
Robert nods.
"You ever think about scaling it up?"
"What do you mean?"
Rebecca sets her drink down to gesticulate as she talks. "I mean, you still own the hospital, right? If you pay someone to demolish the building, that'd be a great place to build a greenhouse that people could come buy stuff from." She picks up her drink and sips. "You could even have classes, y'know, on proper plant care. People would love that shit."
Robert smiles. "I guess I never really thought about it. Might feel good to share what I do," he pauses to take a drink, "especially now that what I do isn't, you know, terrible."
Rebecca chuckles.
