Hello there, my name Gigi, I'm a social studies nerd, a visual artist and some people call me a bruja, they're right but it's usually said with bad intentions. This is a blog where I mostly do whatever I find fun and helpful. I was raised around a great diversity of esoteric traditions but I'm also a nerd about it so of course I had to learn the old, the new, the conventional, the non conventional, the light, the dark, etc. I begin my training as a tarot reader and my esoteric journey at the age of 12, by 15 I was already allowed to share my practices with others (yes I'm kinda a burned out gifted kid tbh and it's not a flex), which is what I'm the most passionate about. I've been working on and off as a professional tarot reader, but mostly in spanish (I live in the countryside of a south american country). So I decided to try out doing it online as a side hustle, since to be honest, working as a tarot reader brings me a deep sense of joy and contempt. Personally I believe that the best part about reading cards for other's relies on the fact that it's a valuable learning experience for both parts, and it's beautiful to see someone grow and face any adversities they have in their way. At the moment, I'm working full time as a tarot reader/astrology reader on an app for esoteric practitioners, and also running this blog, hoping it becomes a nice space for anyone who is into approaching tarot by embracing all the possibilities it has to offer. My work on the app (I can't name it because of my contract) is mostly oriented to predictive and esoteric approaches, I also do a lot more astrology there nowadays, so this blog is less about predictions and spirituality and more about making mysticism, philosophy and esoteric traditions more practical to everyday life without taking away the depth or the power coming from this knowledge.

Before you get to checking what's there to do, I'd like to say that I basically been reading tarot's for most of my conscious life, and I've seen and heard plenty of different perspectives, situations, and so on.  After that I came to the conclusion that the most important thing for me whenever I'm offering my reading services, is that you and I can sort of work together on how the reading gets done. 

My biggest concern when reading for others is that I can communicate the messages from the tarot in a way that's efficient for both of us. I'm always willing to learn and listen without judging, because that way both of us can find the most meaningful and valuable way to approach the reading. 

That's the reason why I specify the length of the readings and the main idea behind them but I don't limit too much the possibilities of what can be asked specifically on that reading. When I read for others, I'm more concerned about respecting and embracing their experiences and thoughts when it comes to tarot, than to impose mine. Not everyone is down for a spiritual experience, not everyone needs the shadow work, or the practical jungian stuff, maybe you don't want to know about the future, or you do but only about the good, and so on.  

To sum it up:

ꕤ I value individuality, empathy and mutual respect, therefore i will never judge, discriminate or belittle the thoughts and experiences of anyone.

I grew up in a very religious household. My mom was an evangelist at the time and my father is Catholic. I'd use cartomancy daily.

Google is your best friend in these situations. There's free apps for astrology and daily tarot pulls as well. If you can't have a physical altar, you can always make a digital one. Pinterest has an app called shuffle. I find it to be useful.

Techno Magic Crash Course

Ive noticed a lack of information on techno-magic and what being a tech witch might entail! Tech magic is the use of modern-day technology in our magical practices! This can be a secular practice OR someone may pair other aspects of theology into it! There is also 'Technopaganism' which is the merge of neopaganism and digital magic. Some people may worship tech and its energy or some people simply use it as a tool for ritual magic!

In this post I wanted to showcase a few ideas to get you started in the tech practice! The first section being common tools, the second is common tech practices, and the last is about how to take steps into your new tech practice and advance forward!

First: The tools To get started here are some amazing apps people might get on their phones to carry magic anywhere

The Moon is an iphone based calander with a bunch of free information about the phases of the moon and even crystals and intentions related to the phase!

Rune reading on the Google Play Store this is a divination app in relation to runes!

Citrine Circle is a great crystal data base to keep track of crystal you either have or want to get

Time Passages is a free chart reader that will read your whole astrological chart!

Labrynthos is a free tarot app that not only gives you access to free tarot, oracle, and lenormand decks, but it teaches you how to read them

This section is all about creating ideas to use for your craft! This section is all about how to integrate common witchy things into your craft! There are thousands of ways to do this so it would be impossible for me to share every idea but hopefully, these get your creative juices flowing

Cleanse using music or beats you enjoy over a speaker

Use mechanical processes in your spells (for example your cars computer could be a green light charm if you hate waiting in red lights)

Create digital grimoires on places like notation or google docs

Create altars on places like Pinterest or sandbox games

Play video games with intentions, like tycoon games for prosperity and FPS for warding

Use autotune during chants to add more power to your voice

Use screens for scrying or intuition practices

Shufflemancy is when you shuffle through a playlist and get a song as a form of divination

Use the energy of a crystal on your screen if you don't physically have one

create digital sigils and hide them around your electronics

Learn a coding language and mess around with enchanting code

Now, Research is going to be the backbone of any practice, however, tech magic doesn't have definite rules so experimentation is going to be your best friend so here are my top tips

If you learn about a new practice ask yourself how you can make it digital (like crystals and the crystals in your phone)

Look deeper into the practice, as you explore how your computer works ask yourself 'why' frequently and question how things work

look into superstitions coders and virtual friends have in relation to computers, are they rooted in anything?

ICY DIARIES 💎 2 : NEVER JUDGE A BOOK'S ENDING BY ITS FIRST CHAPTER

On this episode of "Icy Diaries" we will explore the dynamic of personal timelines, divine timing and why you shouldn't listen to the "gurus".

Back when I was in highschool I used to share a desk with a girl named Marie. Most people wanted to leave our small hometown and move two hours away, to the big city. Everyone was obsessed with leaving and never coming back until their success could make people jealous on a cliché highschool reunion.

Marie though was different. She decided to stay in our hometown and focus on herself. She was always very overweight and never had a boyfriend. Once we were talking about first kisses and she confessed to me that she had not even held hands with a boy, let alone kissed one.

She also didn't know what career she wanted to follow, even though she was a straight-As student, highly emotionally intelligent and very tech savvy and intelligent.

Marie was a late bloomer.

A few years passed, C*VID hit and I decided to visit my hometown.

I got off the train and I started walking towards my childhood home, thinking of warm cups of cocoa and waffles.

As I turned the corner I saw a long haired brunette in tight gym clothes getting off the passenger side of a Porsche. Her man was holding the door open, waiting for her to get off the car.

Looking my way she smiled and waved. I immediately recognized that warm smile and those caring brown eyes ! It was Marie !!!

Turns out, Marie trusted her path and didn't listen to others around her urging her to go to the big city. She worked part time jobs and started attending an online European university program that she could afford without going into debt. For 4 years she had worked on building lucrative online businesses and had founded several projects along the way, even selling a couple of e-commerce stores and a SaaS web app. She had tried moving to the city and had been accepted to a good school but she didn't want to burden her family. People made fun of her for not leaving the town and said that she was scared to get out of her comfort zone ! Who knew !

One day she decided to hit the gym and she became friends with her mentor (a story for another day) and a guy who went to our middle school but switched to a different highschool. He didn't leave our hometown too. His family owned a business and he decided that he wanted to learn the ins and outs of it to take over at some point. It was a very very lucrative venture. Like in the MILLIONS. I learnt that they were planning on getting married and moving in together in their home.

I would have never imagined these two together, but seeing them now side by side something clicked in me :

It all happens for a reason, at the right time.

The story above, portrays to me the importance of following your heart.

I know that many people tell you to suck it up and go cold. Sometimes we need that. Other times though, we need to trust the journey.

Marie never seemed like the type of person who could build businesses. She kept private. Marie played the game right though.

She didn't go after the BIG city sharks. She opted for her small town boy who kept her satisfied. Because that's what she wanted.

She didn't force it and she made the best she could with the tools she had.

Now she can enjoy her life, just at 25, while other classmates of ours are slaving away in corporate offices to pay off college debt.

That was the right decision for her.

Each one of us is on their personal journey. Your timeline is yours. It's not your mama's, neighbour's or friend's. If you can utilise a cheat code don't make it harder just to feel like a victim.

You won't get a prize for suffering.

After my meeting with Marie I started seeing life differently. I decided that I would never let anyone shame me for my choices. Your inner voice holds the answers, you just need to listen.

I always wanted to follow my passion for astrology and helping people to reach their highest potential. Actually Marie was one of the first people I analysed the chart of. She was super chill and open minded from the start. I'm very happy that she let her light shine to the world, in her own way.

What way do you feel is the best to calculate Vedic astrology charts? You’re astrology posts are so insightful and I’d love to delve into the Vedic side but I’ve found, when using astrodienst or astroseek vs the cosmic insights app/vault of heaven as I get two differing charts, one with my ascendant in Virgo and the latter in Leo; should these match? Is there some kind of input that could be impacting how it is calculating these charts? The same ayanamsa has been used for all of them as well as using whole signs; if you prefer broader question asks so you can ignore the leo/virgo part it was just to give a bit of context. I think I would be less confused if only one source gave me a different chart but since I’m getting two distinct ones from where it seems people have gotten the same I was just seeking maybe some clarity on how we should be using these resources.

heyo, Kat! this might seem random (or not! been looking at you astrology research with deep interest), but do you have any sources you can recommend to learn better about astrology and decoding natal charts specifically? the differing info online has been. a little confusing.. (no worries if not, 🫰)

i've been waiting for anyone to justify me posting such a thing

first of all! for beginners i think the best chart generator is astro-seek.com because its by-placement planet/sign/house interpretations aren't shabby at all. i also recommend ignoring uranus–pluto at first just to avoid getting overwhelmed, my medieval/traditional agenda aside

secondly i like whole sign houses in large part because that's what people used before like, the 17th century so what this means on astro-seek is opening extended settings and selecting "Whole sign" and "Uranus-Pluto OFF" (ignore the sidereal thing)

astrology for yourself by demetra george/douglas bloch is something i wish i'd known about when i was starting. it's a paper workbook just like in elementary school where you pencil in information about your own chart. it's so cute and not actually for children but i find it so nostalgic

astrology: understanding the birth chart by kevin burk is really the only "cookbook" type i still reach for because he's so concise without losing out on information, very focused on essential dignity (the concept for interpreting the "strength" and "favor" of placements) and the relationships of the planets, elements, modes

i haven't read it in full but afaik chani nicholas's you were born for this is super approachable and only focuses on the big three (+ chart ruler), which is a good starting place to see just how deep each part of the chart gets

i say astro-seek but personally use astro.com, my settings there include uranus–pluto and the fixed stars

the first 12ish episodes of kirah tabourn's podcast the strology show are fantastic. one episode per each of the planets, then they go through the signs by element. it's so approachable and her guests make the vibes so good. it's the perfect cardio listen

i kinda don't love chani nicholas as just like The face of nuwoo capitalism but hers is the only astrology mobile app that defaults to whole sign houses

but i strongly recommend the books! the BOOKS. and really learning your chart first (i like drawing them crudely by hand!) and then maybe an older celebrity or dead author (to guarantee a different saturn sign, i know bertolt brecht and nick cave's really well; for this astrodatabank) and deadass the way to learn the glyphs is sailor moon

I just hope that I understood your question correctly. Yeah, I think I know what you are looking for. Basically you are looking for synastry chart?

I recommend this:

This one is golden! Enter person's A chart and then person's B. And for a Synastry chart click "Compatibility for lovers/friends".

Select one person with the other person below (just click on it). Scroll down to the end of the chart and you will see

Person A's Sun in Person B's 8 house Person B's Sun in Person A's 2 house

and so forth for all planets in the other person's houses. Here you will also find aspects (not all of them though), so it's best to learn how to read aspects in Synastry as well.
