please feel no pressure to write this, it's just an idea i thought was cute
Spencer Reid x Fem! Reader Trope: Friends to lovers; Fluff with a mix of pining wc: 2.1k A/N: Reader is not part of the BAU, but she just still work for the FBI. By far, this is my longest request written (it's a chapter length) and I don't know how it became so long but I hope you enjoy it still! Comments and reblogs are greatly appreciated đ Main masterlist
Rewriting History. // Spencer Reid
It was the heavy scent of books and wood that welcomed you home. Street lights reflecting off the emerald green walls, bathing the apartment space a warm golden hue. There was peace and stillness, your roommate of two years, Spencer Reid, nowhere to be seenâa usual occurrence that came with his and your job too, being FBI agents under the BAU and CACU, respectively.
You sluggishly made your way to your bedroom, adjacent Spencerâs closed door. Flipping open the switch, your worn body collapsed on the plush vanity chair as thoughts about the darkness of your job slip away and get replaced with melancholy on your connection with the boy genius. It was a relationship nurtured by grueling times in the academyâa connection forged out of convenience at first before becoming this convoluted and intimate bond all because you ended up falling for him.
It wasnât a conscious choice and Spencer didnât make it any easier. He was a closed off castle complete with a moat and a secret passwordâpainfully shy and awkward in nature. If it wasnât for required partnership in physical classes, you doubted youâd get as close as you were now.
A beep brought you out of your musings.
And as if he knew you were thinking of him, it was a text message from Spencer informing you of his return home in a few minutes.Â
With a sigh, you pushed yourself out of the chair and changed into a set of clothesâa faded Caltech tee, that you never returned, and a pair of black leggings
Padding across to the kitchen, you opened the refrigerator and silently thanked your past self for prepping dinner for two in advance. With how irregular both your schedules were and Spencerâs apparent lack of skill in cooking, it fell upon your shoulders to make sure he isnât living off of cold pizzas and Chinese takeouts.Â
As the second plate of food was heating up in the microwave, the chiming of keys softly echoed from outside the mahogany door.
âHey Spencer,â you called out from the kitchen counter.
A series of rustles and a soft hey answered back.
You tilted your head to the side in contemplation, something was wrong and as he turned the corner, shoulders curving in on itself and brows furrowed, something must definitely be wrong.Â
âTough case?â You asked, bringing both plates to the rounded dinner table.
âYeahââ Spencer shook his head. âActually no, not really but I got an email from Las Vegas.â
Your spoonful of soup hung midair, immediately concerned with the email contents. âIs it your mom? Is she okay?âÂ
Having visited Diana in numerous occasions with and without Spencer, youâve learned to love that woman fiercely too. She was a breath of fresh airâblunt during her lucid days and smart during her academic lectures.Â
âItâs from my high school, an invitation for the reunion.â
Ah. âAnd youâre not sure if you want to go?âÂ
He shrugged, chewing his slice of chicken before answering. âThereâs really no one I want to reconnect with, you know. No happy memories really.âÂ
âThatâs true,â you nodded along.Â
During the first few nights moving in the apartment, Spencer had shared the lows he had to go through just to get to where he was now at such a young ageâendlessly mocked for being a geek, no friend group or single confidant to watch his back, and the utter humiliation of being tied naked on a football post. You had an inkling that the genius had gone through bullying, it was a sad norm in all schools, especially in public, but hearing it first hand had brought home just how much of his closed off and shy personality was a product of his trials.
You tapped your fingers on the table. âI think you should go.âÂ
âWhat?âÂ
âYeah, yeah. To show all those mean bullies where you are now,â your back straightening from the idea. âTheyâll talk about you in passing anyway, whether youâre there or not so might as well be there to show them up and defend yourself plusââ you paused, taking a sip of water before barreling through. ââyouâve become quite handsome since then. Donât you think?â
His hazel eyes widened in surprise, further adding to his appeal. Spencer was so innocent that he didnât know the effect he had on womenâfirst evidence was yourself and the second was Lila Archer. âY-you think Iâve become handsome?â
With warmth spreading on your cheeks, you nodded. âYouâve always been handsome to me.â
Spencer started coughing, hand beating on his chest as the food threatened to go down the wrong tube.
Alarmed, you quickly stood up and started patting his back for assistance. How embarrassing was thisâthe first time you blatantly flirted with the man you formed intense attraction for ends up with him almost choking. Was this a sign maybe to not push your luck? Youâve done just about anything to nudge Spencerâs mind in acknowledging your feelings, from remembering all his little quirks (all were just so cute), actively listening to his tangents (all very informative and interesting), and even sometimes delivering a box of donuts to his team (all in the name of seeing his face brighten up) but none seemed to have worked. So, you opted to tell him in words and look what that did to him.
You gnawed on your lower lip. Maybe it was best to pull back, maybe it was best to throw inâ
He cleared his throat before his hand reached yours situated on his shoulder. There was a slight tremor before it closed around your all of a sudden clammy palm. âIâll go if you go with me.â
Filter off your brain. âAs a fake girlfriend type of thing?â
You shut your eyes closed, promising to yourself to stop reading those unrealistic romance novels that Penelope lends you.
âIfâif you want,â his voice shaky and soft as rustles could be heard in the background.
Opening your eyes, Spencer was now fully facing you. Eyes roaming your face and bodyâprofiling you.
A small smile graced your lips. âOkay.â
âââ
The second thing your brain thought of was how oddly fitting that the reunion was held at the school gym, located beside the football field. The first thought being how Spencer looked devastatingly handsome in his suit and tie.
His attire wasnât that different from his usual in the FBI but there was a hidden meaning behind his choices. The patterned brown blazer was a gift you had given to him for his first anniversary working at the FBI and his tie matched the color of your dress.Â
It made you feel warm even though a shiver went down your spine as a sudden gust of wind passed by.Â
Spencer slid closer towards you. âDo you want my coat?â
âIâm alright, thanks for asking Spence,â you looked up, smiling in reassurance. The fairy lights hung in rows emphasized how structured his face was. A high nose bridge, similar to his motherâs, and high cheekbones that made your fingers twitch in want to caress. He was stunning to look atâa view you feared youâd never get enough of.
âSpencer Reid!â A booming male voice shouted from across the gymnasium causing a few heads to swivel. Based on the other attendees reactionsâgiving them ample space as they passed and the stares tracking their every move, you knew who he was right away. A former bully.
âHow are you?â he reached out his hand for a handshake. One that Spencer stared at before bringing his hand up to a wave, lips in a tight lipped smile.
âHey Paul, nice to see you.â
âIs it?â He chuckled before turning his eyes on you. âI donât believe weâve met.â
You stated out your name, tone very similar when youâre on the fieldâcold and professional.
âLook at you, Spencer, having such a pretty girlfriend. Heard you work for the FBI now, is that how you two met?âÂ
A saccharine smile spread across your lips. Your boy genius had been stiff ever since Paul called out his name. Having have heard how Spencer once reacted to a case where the unsub was a high school victim, you knew where his mind was at the moment. Grappling with the hurt from the past and trying his best not to lash out from the scars it had left behind. âYeah, we met at the Academy and just clicked. He was such a gentleman that I couldnât say no when he asked me out for a date.â
âThatâs good to hear. Listen, man, is it alright if I talk to you for a second? Alone?â
You brushed the back of your hand with his, bringing his attention to you. There was a slight furrow in between his brows and his stature was taut, like a stretched out bow that needs to release itâs arrow. This was one of the few times, you could tell, that Spencer was unsure what to do. There was no malice behind Paulâs request and although you werenât a profiler yourself, the slight hunch on the former bullyâs shoulder silently communicated his remorse.Â
Spencerâs eyes trained on yours and as if he found the answer within the depths of your gaze, he slightly smiled, squeezing your hand in his before turning back and nodding to the interloper.Â
âIâll go get a refill,â you lifted your empty cup to excuse yourself.
In truth, you stood idly near the punch bowl and kept your eyes glued on the male duo. Paul was looking down, shuffling his feet, before taking a deep breath and looking straight at Spencer. He uttered a few words you couldnât make of and in turn, Spencerâs body relaxed and he nods once. With an offer for a handshake, one that Spencer shook, Paul walked away as you made your way back to your partnerâs side.
âGood talk?â you asked.
âHe apologized,â Spencer muttered, eyes studying you before grasping your hand back to his. âNo refill?â
You shrugged. âDidnât feel like it anymore. Say Spenceââ he titled his head as an answer. âWant to get out of here?â
He chuckled, eyes twinkling with relief. âThought youâd never ask.â
âââ
The cicadas were singing their tune as you and Spencer stepped out to the football field. The grass lush in color and the faint smell of wet earth wafted around. Grateful that you opted to wear sensible flats rather than the high heels Penelope was bartering you to wear, you held Spencerâs hand tight as he started recollecting the worst bullying that happened in the same place many years ago.
âThatââ he pointed at the goalpost on the far right. ââwas where I was left tied up. I remember feeling worried that I would catch hypothermia as the rain kept coming and going that day and I remember feeling sad when I got home and my mother didnât notice me missing.âÂ
Your voice caught in your throat.
He continued on. âThey say people forget events as they grow older and I wished I had the luxury of that.â
âBecause of your eidetic memory,â you sighed. It was a blessing and a curse to have.Â
âBut I was thinking, maybe I could rewrite it instead?â
There was a thick layer of hope behind his words causing you to turn, fully facing him this time.
âIâIâve been keeping a secret from you for 24 months and 182 days and I donât know if this would change our relationship or ruin it but youâre my person, my best friendââ he took a deep breath. ââand Iâm in love with you.â
People say there are moments in your life that would upend everything as you know it and tilt everything to an axis, you never understood what they meant by that, up until this moment. The twinkling night stars suddenly appeared brighter, the temperature warmer, and the force that tethered you to Earth was no longer gravity, it was now Spencer Reid.
You smiled, eyesight blurring from tears. His trembling fingers reached out to wipe the droplets making its path down your cheeks.
âIâm in love with you too, Spencer Reid, since the beginning.âÂ
And as if the world needed more proof, he smiledâhis bright, full teeth smile and you felt your heart halt before starting back up again.Â
It was proof that he owned the beating organ in your chest and all the emotion that came with it.Â

Luck
Summary: a resolution with flowers on the counter.
Word Count: 1k
A/N: here is part two of Flowers! I would recommend reading that first. Enjoy lovelies đ
Lewisâ head shot up off the couch pillow when he heard the lock on the front door click.Â
He didnât move when he saw you in the living room doorway. You broke the silence first.Â
âIâm going to bed.â
âDo you want me to sleep on the couch?âÂ
You rolled your eyes. âWhatever, Lewis.âÂ
Then he saw you turn and go up the stairs.Â
Lewis dropped his head into his hands. He couldnât believe what the last few hours had turned into.Â
~~~~~
Lewis jogged up the steps, slightly out of breath as the Colorado freezing air kicked his ass. A crappy night's sleep and the change from Las Vegas weather had him struggling.Â
He opened the door and immediately saw Roscoe camped out on the welcome mat. While bending down to pet the attention seeker, he caught sight of you in the kitchen. You had a mug held to your lips with your phone in the other hand.Â
Lewis felt your eyes on him once he stood up. The light still hadnât returned after a night of sleeping apart. Itâs not like he expected anything different.Â
âMorning,â you greeted as you set your mug on the counter. You tucked your phone in the back pocket of your jeans. You kept talking, voice flat as it has been and Lewis didnât like that. âIâm going to the store so if you need anything you can text me.âÂ
Lewis walked to the cabinet and grabbed a glass making his way to the sink to get water. He didnât respond. He didnât know what to say.Â
âAlright, Iâm going. See you in a bit,â you said.Â
âWhat store are you going to?â Lewis asked.Â
âI havenât decided yet. Sprouts perhaps. Maybe Trader Joeâs. Whatever I feel like when I get in the car.âÂ
You started to walk out of the kitchen when Lewis spoke. He really shouldnât have. He was still pent up from his run and over everything he caused.Â
âYouâre not going to the store.âÂ
You froze and slowly turned towards him, eyebrows raised. âWe need groceries, Lewis.âÂ
âNo we donât.âÂ
âYes we do.âÂ
âNope.âÂ
âOkay,â you put your hands on the counter, leaning towards Lewis, âthe fruit and few vegetables I got yesterday barely feed you so we need groceries.âÂ
To this, Lewis replied, âIâll go with you.âÂ
You barked out a laugh and shook your head.Â
âDonât laugh,â Lewis ground out.Â
You both moved simultaneously, Lewis towards you and you towards the door. But, Lewis caught your wrist and pulled you towards him.Â
âDonât laugh at me baby.âÂ
âLewis,â you whispered, in shock and maybe even surprise at your sudden closeness.Â
He walked you so your back was against the counter. Lewis reached into your back pocket and pulled your phone out placing it next to your hip.Â
âWhyâd you throw the flowers away?â Lewis rumbled, you didnât respond, he asked again, âwhy?âÂ
âThey were dried out.â
âYou did that on purpose.âÂ
âLewââÂ
âWhy?âÂ
âJust let it go Lewis.âÂ
He pressed you harder against the counter. âTell me, honey. Why did the flowers end up in the trash?âÂ
âThey were just flowers.âÂ
âThey werenât.âÂ
âYouâre right,â you said quietly. âOnce you stopped showing up they became just flowers.âÂ
He dropped his forehead to yours.Â
Lewis didnât mean to hurt you. Truly. You had the best vacation together, something he enjoyed every second of. No work, no responsibilities. Time together that was needed. He did have work he needed to handle when getting home but went about it the wrong way.Â
He had to fix what he did.Â
âPlease let me go Lewis,â you whispered.Â
âNo.âÂ
âNo? You canât just say no.âÂ
He moved his hands from your hips to around your shoulders pulling you into a hug.Â
He moved his lips to your ear and whispered, âI hurt you. I messed up and I hurt you.âÂ
Lewis felt your arms lightly wrap around his waist. He tightened his arms and pressed his temple to your hair.Â
âIâm sorry I hurt you, baby,â he murmured.Â
âFine Lewis.âÂ
âLet me in, baby. Let me fix my mistake. I shut you out and I shouldnât have.âÂ
He pulled back and saw your hard exterior slowly crumbling. He didnât let you go but gave you time to speak.Â
âWe got back from a fabulous time together, Lewis. I would have supported you through whatever you were going through. You know I have supported you and always will,â you said quietly. âWhat am I supposed to do and think when you arenât talking to me?âÂ
Lewis placed a finger on your chin guiding your eyes together.Â
âGive me your eyes honey.â Once you locked eyes he continued. âI didnât want to burden you with everything I was working through. I canât tell you exactly why I did what I did. I knew it was wrong. I can promise you I wonât do it again.âÂ
He saw you take a deep breath and sigh. He hoped you werenât gearing up to keep arguing.Â
âI know you didnât do it on purpose, Lewis. But Iâm not here to be thrown to the side when youâre stressed or whatever,â you flicked your hand off to the side. âI forgive you, but Iâm not tolerating it again.âÂ
Lewis felt the smile creeping onto his face. He heard you laugh quietly.Â
âHug me baby. Iâve missed you.âÂ
At that, you wrap your arms around his shoulder at the same time he hugs your waist. He missed the feeling of you. All parts of you.Â
You pulled back, Lewis not wanting to let you go, but loosening his hold, and seeing the smirk on your face.Â
He knew what was coming and braced for the incoming sass.Â
âNow, can we go buy groceries or are we going to stand here and starve?âÂ
Lewis bent his neck and dropped his forehead to yours.Â
Then, his eyes locked with yours, he muttered, âOf course honey.âÂ
âThen get off me and letâs go!âÂ
âFine, fine,â he replied, fighting a smile.Â
You looked into his eyes for a while.Â
Then you yelled, âletâs go Roscoe! Youâre daddy stopped being an ass so weâre going as a family.âÂ
Lewis closed his eyes and laughed. Then he moved and touched his lips to yours.Â
Then he let you go and watched as you went to get Roscoeâs collar and leash. With you out of sight, he went to the garbage can and pulled the flowers out. Theyâd deal with them together after shopping.
Roll the Dice
Charles Leclerc x Reader
Summary: You and Charles throw your own private celebration after one of the best races of the season
Warnings: 18+ content
The roar of the crowd still rings in your ears as you make your way through the paddock to find Charles. Your heart is bursting with pride after watching him fight his way to a hard-earned P2.
Las Vegas may be a new circuit but Charles drove it like he had been racing here for years. He made the Ferrari dance in ways you didnât think were possible, squeezing every last hundredth out of each corner.
You spot him up ahead, finally free from the mob of reporters and post-race press conference. Heâs leaning against the wall near the media pen in a rare moment of solitude, eyes closed and head tilted back, no doubt mentally replaying each complex sequence of braking points and apexes.
You take a moment just to look at him â the way his damp curls cling to his forehead, the zipper of his race suit undone and its sleeves tied at his waist to reveal soaked fireproofs that cling to every contour of his chest. Heâs breathing heavily, a post-race flush still clinging to his cheeks.
Heâs the most beautiful thing youâve ever seen.
As you draw nearer, his eyes blink open and immediately lock with yours. Relief, affection, and something more primal flash through them as a smile tugs at the corners of his mouth.
âY/N!â He shouts, hurrying over to sweep you up in a massive hug.
You squeeze him tight, not caring at all that heâs drenched in sweat and sticky with champagne. ïżœïżœIâm so proud of you!â You beam.
He sets you down, his hands lingering on your waist. âI couldnât have done it without my good luck charm.â
You playfully smack his shoulder. âOh stop, this was all you! I canât believe the drive you put on out there. You were incredible!â
Charles glances down shyly. âThank you, mon cĆur. It was a good race tonight.â
âA great race,â you correct him, âYou drove incredibly. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, watching you battle with Max and Checo like that. It was the best thing Iâve seen all season.â
Taking his hand, you lead him away from the crowds. âCome on, letâs get you out of here. I think itâs time we celebrate!â
A flight in the early afternoon means you both decide to forego the wild Vegas parties and instead make your way straight to the hotel. Once youâre in your suite, Charles heads for the shower while you pour champagne. When he emerges in a billow of steam, you hand him a glass.
âTo my champion!â You declare, clinking your glass against his.
Charles smiles graciously but you catch a flash of disappointment in his eyes. âIâm hardly a champion finishing P2.â
You fix him with a serious look. âThat was the drive of a champion tonight. You left you heart on the track out there. If it wasnât for that safety car, you wouldâve won. I would have bet my life on it.â
He looks thoughtful as he takes a sip. âYou really think so?â
âI know so! The way you managed to regain the lead from Max? And then from Checo? The move you pulled in the last lap to take P2? Incredible. My only regret is that you donât have a car that would give you an opportunity to compete like this all season.â
Charles sighs. âThe team is doing their best with what weâve got.â
You set your glass down and rest your hands on his bare chest. âI know and youâre so patient with them. But a driver like you? You deserve to be fighting at the front in every single race.â
Looking into your eyes, Charles brushes a strand of hair from your face. âWeâll get there, I know it. This result today, it shows progress.â
âYouâre right. It does,â you smile up at him. âAnd when you do get a car worthy of you, the rest of the grid better watch out. Because you are going to do great things, Charles Leclerc.â
Charles gazes at you tenderly before pulling you in for a kiss. Your lips move together unhurriedly, his hands trailing down your back.
When you finally break apart, breaths mingling, he gives you a mischievous look.
âYou know, I never did properly thank you for being my good luck charm today.â His fingers toy with the hem of your shirt.
You bite your lip coyly. âI think the good luck charm wants to properly congratulate her driver on the podium. I want to make you feel good. You more than earned it.â
Charles grins and tugs your shirt up over your head. His lips find your neck as he backs you towards the bed, hands roaming your newly exposed skin.
You fumble with the ties on his sweatpants, shoving them down as the back of your legs hit the plush mattress. He gently lowers you down, hovering over you.
âYou are so beautiful,â he murmurs, eyes dark with want.
You pull him down for another heated kiss, reveling in the feel of his solid weight above you. Your hands grasp at his back, nails digging in slightly to leave crescent marks on his skin.
Charles groans into your mouth at the sensation, pressing his hips down firmly against yours. You can feel his arousal even through the thin fabric still separating you.
Breaking the kiss, you trail your lips along his stubbled jaw to his ear. âI want you so much,â you whisper hotly.
He shudders in response, hands gripping your waist. âTake what you want, mon amour. Iâm all yours.â
You slip a hand between your bodies, palming him through his boxers. He hisses in pleasure, bucking into your touch.
âThese need to come off. Now,â you demand.
Charles obliges eagerly, stripping the last barrier between you away. You waste no time to wrap your legs around his waist, gasping as he enters you in one smooth motion.
You move together unhurriedly at first, simply reveling in the feeling of being joined so intimately. Charles peppers your face and neck with tender kisses as your hands caress every inch of his back and shoulders you can reach.
As the pleasure builds, your hips pick up speed, chasing release. Charles shifts his angle, hitting that sweet spot inside you that has you seeing stars.
âJust like that! Donât stop!â You cry out, nails digging into his shoulders again.
He increases his pace, pounding into you relentlessly. You feel the tension coiling tighter and tighter within you.
âCharles, Iâm so close ...â you gasp.
âLet go, mon cĆur. Come for me,â he growls breathlessly into your ear.
His words send you tumbling over the edge with a wordless cry. Your vision goes white as intense ecstasy washes over you. Distantly youâre aware of Charles following right after, your name a reverent sigh on his lips.
As you float back down, Charles collapses on top of you. You hold him close, heart threatening to burst from the love and pride swelling within you.
Charles presses his lips to your forehead. âHave I mentioned that youâre the best girlfriend ever? I donât know what I did to deserve someone as wonderful as you. But Iâm so glad youâre here with me through all of this. I love you so much.â
You grin and pull him in for a kiss. âYou deserve the world, Charles Leclerc. And I plan on spending every day of our lives proving that to you.â
Birthday wishes [S. R.]
Spencer Reid x fem!reader
Word count: 6.4k
Summary: everyone seems to forget Spencer's 30th birthday, but he only cares that you remember it.
second part here!
contents: childhood best friends, idiots who-don't-know-they're-in-love, surprise parties, pure fluff honestly
If you like my work leave a comment or reblog, that would make me very happy!
The first thing Spencer did when he got home was get rid of his converse and even though it had been a relatively calm day he was exhausted, so he went straight to the bedroom to throw himself on the bed. He lay back for a while, just enjoying the calm, and then he fumbled for the cell phone in his briefcase. He hit the call button on the contact he'd wanted to talk to all day and then he waited patiently.
âL/N family residence, who do you want me to contact you with?â
"Hello, is Miss Y/N by any chance?"
"Who's looking for her?" you continued and a smile escaped from his lips. It was usual for you to respond in a silly way when he called you, so he was used to it by now.
"Her best friend, Dr. Spencer Reid"
âSpencer Reid? Spencer Reid, I don't think that sounds familiarâŠâ you teased, hearing him snort from the other end of the line âAh! Wait, I remember you."
âAfter knowing each other for like 20 years, I hope soâ he laughed, and then you too.
Sure enough, the man and you were friends from a very early age. You were his neighbor when he lived in Las Vegas and your parents had always been quite nice to the family, knowing the delicate situation they faced, so it wasnât difficult for you to become friends. You were the first friend he ever had, a real one, so there was a special fondness between you, even when he had gone off to college at such a young age and distance had subsequently separated the two of you.
You always called each other and every time he visited his mother it was a law that you also received a visit, even if the time was only enough for you to greet each other with a hug. You also traveled to DC a few times because of your work and you even had your own key to his apartment, so if he was busy with a case, you could stay there instead of paying for a hotel. Your relationship was like that of a brother and sister, although as this familiarity grew, it was slightly intervened by loving feelings that you didnât want to face yet but were definitely there.
You knew a lot about his life from those long-distance calls that happened at least once a week, and right now he was excited about something in particular. He was exactly one week away from his thirty-year birthday, and he hoped that, like every year, you would fly from Las Vegas to see him. It was a tradition, whether it was thunder or lightning, you two hadn't missed a single birthday from the other since he had to move out of state. So Spencer was hoping that this call was for you guys to plan what you were going to do; regularly your birthdays were in restaurants or nice places and his were at home, with food delivery and classic movies, or when you felt very adventurous you could go to a museum or just walk through the streets.
"How are you, Reid? How is everything?"
"Not so good, but not so bad either" he laughed "And you?"
"Everything has been terrible, it's like a curse is on my head, I swear" you complained. Spencer got up from his comfortable position to sit on the bed and although he knew that most of the time you said things like that you were just exaggerating, this time he had a bad feeling.
"Why?â
You started to tell him about the financial problems you were going through and he, with his mind still focused on your visit, thought about offering to pay for your flight to DC, but his spirits fell completely when you told him that you were being put under too much pressure at work.
âWe're going to have a meeting next Friday with HR to discuss responsibilities and so on, but honestly I don't think things will get better. Right now I'm working from home because there are pending issues that have to be resolved as soon as possible and I barely have time to think during the day, you seriously can't imagine how busy I've been.â
When you finished the story, he remained silent, feeling his chest squeezed by the direction that things were now taking. With that scenario, your visit was too complicated and he was debating internally about whether he should tell you something about it or not. As he had thought before, the money to have you with him wasnât a problem, but dealing with the issue of your shortened times was totally different. He didn't want to make you feel guilty for not being able to go, let alone disrupt activities that he knew were important to you, like that meeting you just mentioned. So what should he do? He wanted you to be there, but he wasn't going to make you.
âCrash? You still there?" you asked. Only you and his mother called him that, since his nickname had arisen when he was just a child due to his clumsiness, a trait that, in your opinion, he still retained. It wasn't offensive coming from you, even he was glad to know that this was something that belonged to the two women he loved the most.
"Yes, I'm here. I just was thinking"
"You always do, I don't think there's a single second when that mind of yours rests," you said amused "Anyway, what's new?"
Spencer hoped that you would at least apologize to him for your future absence or ask him what he intended to do today. But you seemed not even aware of it.
âNothing, really. Today we're done with a case and if I'm lucky I'll be able to rest this weekendâ he murmured. Sometimes he would tell you things about the cases, omitting bloody and dangerous details, so he leaned back and started recounting all the events into the speaker of his phone.
You two continued to talk for almost an hour, but the topic of the birthday didn't come up once and Spencer didn't try to bring it up. After all, there were still a few days to go and in the worst case, you could at least call him that day to congratulate him, right?
But as the days went by, the anxiety ate him more and he even called you a few days after that, but he only received a response from your mailbox and after a few minutes a short text message where you explained that you were a little busy with work, but that you would call him as soon as you could. The fact that during those days he found out that the entire team already had something to do on Friday didnât help his mood too much.
Hotch and JJ discussed a sleepover for Henry and Jack after work, he overheard Garcia and Morgan agreeing to visit a new bar for the night, Rossi said he was going to visit one of his ex-wives and when he thought he could still invite Emily to hang out, she went over to talk to him about the therapist appointment that she clearly didn't want to go to, but had to. There was no remedy, everyone had plans for his birthday and he didnât want to interfere with them. Resignation was the only thing the doctor had left during the remaining days, and when he least expected it, the entire week had already passed.
He used to wake up to your off-key version of the birthday song and a cupcake with a candle stuck in it, then you'd make breakfast and you'd eat it together; so not having any of that when he got out of bed, he felt his heart break a little. This year he thought he would get your call first thing in the morning, but when he checked his phone he didn't even find a message announcing that there was a case. He didn't want to go to the office to do paperwork on his birthday, but the thought of at least getting a hug from his coworkers cheered him up slightly.
He put on his favorite shirt, a new pair of pants, and the converse that you had given him and he only wore on special occasions, before leaving the apartment. For some reason Spencer enjoyed taking the subway, perhaps more than anyone he knew, and this time he stopped at a coffee shop that was just before arriving to buy something to drink, since he didn't feel like eating anything.
He undertook the entire trip lost in his thoughts and when he least expected it, he was already at the headquarters. He checked his phone, again, but he still didn't get any notifications or missed calls. Many times you had insisted that he get a more modern model and he had refused, but now he was wondering if the advances in technology would have allowed him to communicate with you through a video call. It would be embarrassing to ask Garcia for a favor, so he concluded that he would just wait, after all if he hadn't communicated it must have been for something important.
Upon entering, he greeted everyone with a huge smile and he felt somewhat disconcerted when the others greeted him normally, without hugs or cake on the table. He sat down at his desk to start going through the documents he already had and the others continued on their own business. It was common for Emily or Morgan to come up to him for a chat, but on this particular day it was as if they were avoiding him. Even Penelope, who he swore would congratulate him, seemed to have completely forgotten when he came to her place with the excuse of needing a piece of information from the previous case. When Hotch called him to his office, the man's eyes lit up, believing that his boss had remembered the celebration of the date.
"Can you do me a favor?" he had asked, without taking his eyes off whatever he was writing "Donovan needs to sort some files and honestly he has no idea how to do it and I'm too busy to explain, could you do it?"
Donovan was in charge of the physical file inside the building and it was not usual for him to request this kind of support, but Reid still said yes, and the rest of the day passed with him locked in a cellar full of filing cabinets. He had made sure to take his phone with him and every time he turned it on to check it and he realized that there was no sign of you his disappointment increased. He came to wonder if his mind hadn't been playing tricks on him and, for some incredible reason, he had gotten the day wrong and it wasn't really October 12; but when he saw the calendar, he verified that this wasnât possible.
âAre you out of punishment yet?â Emily taunted, when after many hours she saw him again by the bullpen. At another time Spencer would have laughed, but right now his mood wasn't quite right for it and he just looked at her, more hostile than he intended. âHotch left you some documents on your desk, he asked if you could review them before you go. It's urgent,â she informed him.
It was obvious that this would take time and he felt like crying at the thought of having to stay longer than the regular time. It was almost an hour after everyone else had gone home that he finished, feeling somewhat annoyed to find out that even Aaron had already left.
He doubted whether to go home or go to dinner somewhere, because he knew that if he returned to the apartment he would sink into sadness. His birthdays didn't mean anything special on their own, what he liked was to feel loved, to enjoy the company, but above all to see you.
While he was leaving the building, and as if you were reading his mind, a call vibrated on his cell phone. Seeing that it was you, Spencer didn't take more than two seconds to answer, thinking that maybe after the whole day he could improve.
"You won't believe what happened to me!" you said, without even greeting him. It wasn't the kind of sentence he was expecting, but he still decided to listen.
"What happened?"
âThere is a boy, at my work, his name is Brandon. Well, Brandon and I have talked a few times now and he seems like a nice person, plus he's pretty handsome and he finally asked me out on a date with him, can you believe it?" you murmured excitedly, and a lump formed in Spencer's throat "We're going out today, the meeting was canceled and we decided to take advantage of the time, but I can't decide whether to wear the red dress or the black and gold outfit that my mom gave me and I need the help of an expert. You have seen both, which one do you think suits me better?
Spencer was quiet for a moment, processing the situation she was going through, and it wasn't until you said his name that he reacted.
"I like your red dress," he murmured, with a sad smile that you clearly couldn't see. He couldn't believe you were going out with a man you'd never mentioned and it affected him more than he expected you to be asking for advice because a pang of jealousy shot through his chest.
You were telling him that you were going to have a date on his birthday.
âI thought the same! I guess that will be the best option."
"I guessâŠ"
"Where are you now? At home?" you kindly asked. Your tone almost made him angry.
âI just got off work. I'm on my way to take the subway"
"Oh, excellent. Today there were no cases?"
"Not fortunately. I'm glad to know that the criminals at least respected my birthday."
With that said, there was a deathly silence between you, to the point where he wondered if you were still on the other end of the line or if you understood what he was implying.
âSpencer, my God, IâŠâ
"It's okay if you forgot," he said, trying to play the matter down, but the tears that were beginning to accumulate in his eyes indicated otherwise. The guilty tone with which you had spoken was more than enough to know that, probably, if he hadnât mentioned it, you wouldnât have done it either "Nobody remembered it"
"I'm so sorry" you practically sobbed "Between all the work and stuff I... I don't even know why I forgot, forgive meâ
"Itâs okay" he replied. But it wasn't okay.Â
âCan I do something to fix it? Whatever, you just⊠ask me what you want and I'll do it. I swear," you mumbled, sounding desperate.
He tried to convince you that there was no problem with it and you continued to pour out apologies, which Spencer knew were worthless now but he wasn't selfish enough to ignore them. He wanted to scream, cry, or do anything to get that weight off his chest and even though he loved the sound of your voice right now it was the last thing he needed.
âAnyway, I'm about to enter the subway and uh, I have almost no signal there. I'll call you later, okay?" the question didnât wait for an answer, because he immediately added: "Good luck on your date, bye"
If he had considered going out to celebrate, he knew that now what he urgently needed was to go home or he would break down in tears in the middle of the street. The ride on the subway lasted longer than he would have liked, as he longed to go to sleep and find out if it would allow him to forget a bit about the shitty day he had just had. When he was finally in front of the door with the number 23 in gold letters, he struggled enormously to put the key into the lock, because the tears in his eyes were already clouding his vision, and he believed that the heaviness on his shoulders wouldnât allow him to advance.
The key turned one turn, then another, and then Spencer was allowed inside the house.
One week beforeâŠ
The team was meeting in the conference room at the request of Penelope, who had asked everyone to stay after the scheduled time, waiting to receive the news of what they thought would surely be a new case.
"And Reid?" Morgan asked, noticing the empty chair next to him, because they had seen him leave and that was reason enough to have questions about his absence.
"I'm glad you asked because this meeting is related to him," Garcia replied. With the push of a button, a face appeared on the main screen and almost everyone present was surprised to see who it was "She is Y/N Y/L/N, do you remember her?"
"You were at Prentiss's funeral, right?"
"That's right" you replied with a smile, looking directly at the aforementioned "I still have a little trouble understanding, uh... that whole thing, to be honest" you joked.
"Y/N asked us for this space to discuss something related to Spencer's birthday, which will be next Friday" explained Hotch, who was the other member who was already aware of the matter "The microphone is all yours"
"Okay, so where do I start? It's great to see all of you and I hope you're doing well. Every year I visit Spencer on his birthday and we spend the day together, but since this year is his 30th birthday I wanted to do something special and I want to know if you would be willing to help meâ
"Tell us your plan, precious"
âI don't intend to take up a lot of your time, it's simple. I will call him today to insinuate that this year I canât go and all I want you to do is pretend that day that you donât remember that itâs his birthdayâ
"Wait, why do you want us to ignore it?" JJ muttered with a frown.
"I want to throw him a surprise party in his apartment" you explained with a smile and then the request you were making to them didn't sound so farfetched "You can tell him you have plans that day and if he mentions something you just say you can't go. I bought my flight for that day and I will be in the city starting in the morning, so I can prepare everythingâ
"And how will we do if he invites us somewhere?"
Morgan suggested using a decoy for him and pretending they were taking him somewhere else, but you balked at the idea.
âI have all my hopes that he doesnât mention anything. If so, we'll manage somehow. And I know that asking for that is difficult because we are all his friends, but if necessary, avoid him completely that day. We need him to know under no circumstances that we have a surprise for him."
âHe is very smart and he will figure it out. If we make him believe that we forgot he will concentrate on thatâ you argued. Although the others didn't want to admit it, they knew that you had a point there "I just hope you don't have some unforeseen case or something like that, because I would hate for that lie to be for nothing"
You discussed some more until you concluded that your plan was the most viable. The girls would help you with ideas for decorations and David even offered to buy all the drinks. Although the others werenât surprised by his generosity, you were slightly upset, but this didnât prevent you from accepting the offer and thanking him in advance.
âIt really means a lot to me that you guys help me, thanksâ you murmured happily, once everything was settled, and then your phone started ringing in the background âIt's Spencer! I have to answer him. If something happens, you guys will tell me, right?"
"Take it for granted" smiled Garcia, who was the one who had lived with you the most, but everyone supported her from the bottom.
"Fine, thanks everyone, thanks Agent Hotch, I'll see you later!" you said goodbye, hanging up the video call and simultaneously answering the phone.
Everyone got up from the conference room and Rossi was the first to speak, a smile on his face.
"Call me crazy..." he started to say "but something tells me that girl and Spencer are going to end up together"
"The pretty boy loves her, but he still doesn't notice it," Morgan laughed, as they all walked out. "Whenever we go to Vegas, his eyes shine when he sees her."
âAnd she's setting this up for him! It's so sweet" Penelope sighed, who had already taken Derek's arm "But the part about being mean to Spencer doesn't convince me much⊠he's going to be so sad"
"Look at it this way, babygirl: if he's sad he'll be happier than usual with the surprise."
"Nobody's going to screw it up," Emily threatened them, pointing her index finger at them, and the rest of the team promised they wouldn't.
Meanwhile, your first part of the plan was in the works, with the late-night call he had made to you. You had to admit that lying to your best friend was something you hated, but with any luck it would all be worth it when you could hug him and give him that gift that you had carefully kept on one of the shelves, that you hoped could be enough for such an important event like the first thirty years of life.
What happened during the week is history, which was consolidated at the moment he turned the handle without even imagining what awaited him.
When Spencer walked through the door the first thing he did was turn on the light and he felt like he was going to have a heart attack when he heard the screams coming from inside. There were purple balloons scattered all over the floor, a congratulations banner, a table full of presents, and everyone was there.
The shock was such that he couldn't even manage to say a word and some of the tears that he had been holding back were finally able to come out, but this time for different reasons.
They hadnât forgotten.
"How What are you doing here?"
âWe came to celebrate your birthday, genius,â Morgan laughed, as he reached over to hug his friend and ruffled his hair brotherly.
A wave of hugs preceded that and even he received a couple of kisses on each cheek from Rossi, which finally made him laugh. He seemed like a child, completely fascinated with everything around him and still processing the situation.
In the midst of it all, he couldn't help wondering how his friends had been able to enter the apartment, since none of them had a copy of the key and the landlady was too suspicious to have let them in just like that, but he felt happy for the direction the day had taken.
âFirst of all, we have another surprise for you,â said JJ, obviously excited. The rest shared complicit glances and GarcĂa began to record with his cell phone, which made him a little nervous "But you have to close your eyes."
Spencer looked at everyone else as if waiting for a confirmation of that, and seeing a couple of nods he did what his friend was asking. Just to make sure Jennifer covered his eyelids with her hands and in this way she turned him around, while he wondered what this surprise could be about.
"Are you ready?" she asked and the man answered yes with a hum. There was silence for a second, as if they were checking something, and then she withdrew her hand. "Open them."
Many possibilities went through the man's mind for whatever he would see at that moment, but when he did, he felt his heart stop for a moment. There you were, looking at him with a sweet smile and wearing that red dress.Â
The rest of those present were waiting for who would make the first move, because the two of you had froze looking at each other, and GarcĂa was only pointing the camera carefully as you had requested.
"Surprise?" you said shyly, noticing that Spencer hadn't said anything.
You were afraid that after the call you had he was upset with you in some way, but a second after he recovered from the shock he was already on top of you, holding you by the waist to spin you through the air while you laughed heartily.
"You came," he said, his voice cracking, but completely brimming with happiness.
"Of course I would, Spencer, do you think I'd miss your birthday?"
"But you... your work"
"All a vile lie"
"And that boy?"
âThere was never such a thing,â you laughed, freeing yourself from the weight of guilt âYou're my only boy,â you added affectionately, palms planted squarely on your friend's cheeks. He still had you in his arms and was grinning from ear to ear at your answers "I'm so sorry I told you all that, I just didn't want you to suspect anything, can you forgive me?"
"No!" he practically squealed and you widened your eyes in amazement âToday was the most terrible day because I thought you didn't care about me anymore, you made me suffer! All of you!" your friend complained, looking away from you briefly to look at those present.
"In our defense, she asked us to," Emily laughed, holding up both hands in surrender.
"You're so mean," he murmured, turning his attention back to you. "But I love you so much.â
A group sigh filled the room as he engulfed you in a hug and from your position you could see the teasing or tender smiles they all had. It wasn't very common to see the youngest of the team in that position, much less saying those things, plus we had to add the collective opinion that you were madly in love.
"Seriously, forgive me"
"Itâs okayâŠ" he whispered close to your ear "You're here, that's what matters"
His body felt so soft and safe that you didn't want to stop hugging him, but you knew that if you took too long it would create an uncomfortable environment for the rest, so you had no choice but to gently pull him away from you. The woman asked your friend, just to annoy him, if he liked his surprise and although he didn't say anything, the giant smile and flushed cheeks were enough of an answer.
"Come, you won't escape my melodious voice" you murmured after a few seconds, when the commotion calmed down a bit.
Taking him by the hand, you led him to the table where you had the chocolate cake with a couple of candles that formed the number 30. Everyone sang the song while the wick burned down and the boy looked anywhere, with that certain shyness characteristic of him. When he blew out the candle to make his wish, you all applauded and that started the celebration.
There were some appetizers on the table and Rossi had stocked all the drinks quite well, as he had promised. As the minutes passed you hovered here and there to check that things were in order, arranging everything as if it were your own apartment, and Spencer could only smile at how well you seemed to get along with everyone. The last time you'd seen the team was, sure enough, during Emily's funeral, but that didn't mean there wasn't some history between you.
He still remembered the feeling of shame when in the early years he had asked Gideon for permission to summon someone to the hotel during a case in Las Vegas. It wasn't that he was ashamed of you, but that he was ashamed of having to reveal something so important in his life to his FBI colleagues. The agent didn't object at all, but that didn't spare the man from being grilled by Derek and Elle about which mysterious lady their younger coworker was talking to. Over the years, people left the unit, and others joined, but the constant was always you. Even now, if a replacement happened, Spencer knew that the rest of the team would take it upon themselves to introduce you to said person.Â
At some point he felt a tremendous nostalgia for that time and in a chain of thoughts he came to ask himself if working where he did was the right thing to do. Turning thirty was cause for celebration, but for him it was also tantamount to thinking how well he had lived up to the expectations of what he expected to have achieved at this age: How much progress should he have made in the world by now? Was it any use having that brilliant mind that everyone raved about if he was working in a government office? And what about his personal life? He wanted to get married at some point and wondered if he should be looking for love instead of criminals. Even while he was through all this, he wished he could focus on how happy his friends had made him instead of worrying about other things.Â
"Up to here I can see the gears of your brain" laughed someone next to him. It was Emily "What's wrong?"
"Nothing" he murmured, shaking his head softly "I was thinking about some things, it's just that"
"You should drink some more, that wine that Dave brought tastes delicious" she smiled, inviting him to come closer to the others to chat.
It was a bit ironic, but completely understandable, that even at his own birthday party he would remain a bit oblivious to the situation. Following Emily's advice, he poured himself another drink and joined the other attendees to enjoy the moment. For hours you laughed and chatted, until the drinks were running out and your drunkenness rising.
The parents of the group were the first to leave and the last was a drunk Penelope who threatened to stay there to sleep, but Derek took it upon himself to guide her to his car to take her home. It was late at night when only you and Spencer were left, amidst all the decorations in the room.
"Peace and tranquility"
"It was too much?" you laughed, knowing that your friend could become overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle.
"No, no. Just kidding"
âAnd was it okay for you? You had fun?" you asked, referring to the party, as the two of you sat down on the leather couch. The dress you were wearing rose to the top of your thighs and his attention strayed there for a second, so he looked up guiltily; He didn't help the blush on his cheeks that there was your cleavage.Â
"Everything was wonderful"
"Are you seriously not mad at me?" you insisted
"No, honey, I'm not," he laughed. You tried to ignore the fact that he had said that to you, since it wasn't something he was used to, and just smiled sheepishly, "I mean, at first I was a little, but now that I understand why you did it, I'm not anymore."
âYou are already thirty⊠you are so old!â
"You are older than me!" he squealed, completely offended, and you responded with a laugh. Although that was true, you looked more jovial than the man, something that a variety of people had taken it upon themselves to verify.
"Now that I remember, do you want to see your gift?"
"Isn't this supposed to be my gift?" The confusion was evident in his voice and you refrained from answering, as you bolted into the room. You came back from there with a box in your hands, which you later placed on your lap with evident emotion.
âI wrapped it myselfâ you confessed, rather proud of yourself. You had found a piece of paper to cover with drawings of equations and small microscopes that you thought captured the essence of your friend and, of course, now that he had seen it, he had liked it a lot.
The man's fingers drummed the surface under your expectant gaze, and then he winced slightly.
"What's up?"
"I don't know, I think maybe I should open it laterâŠ"
"Spencer Reid!" you yelled. It was obvious that he was only joking with you and you knew that by the laugh that escaped his lips.Â
Your friend opened the box almost ceremonially and then removed the tissue paper that covered the contents: above all there were two hardcover books, one about the world of fungi and the other about poetry, next to it an hourglass, then three boxes with jigsaw puzzles, a pocket chess game, packets of Reid's favorite sweets, and last but not least, a picture of the two of you in a pretty chocolate-colored frame and a little paper envelope to go with it. One by one he was taking out the gifts and his smile only grew with each object, while he felt his heart grow with love.
"I remember this day" he murmured, referring to the photograph you had chosen. The sky was blue behind you and you were kissing Spencer's cheek, who was smiling at how spontaneous it had been âWe were in a park after going to an art exhibition."
âAnd we bought the most delicious ice cream in the worldâ
"I differ, I've had better," he murmured, shrugging. The truth is that you thought that the ice cream had been delicious because of the whole panorama of that day, not so much because of the taste itself.
Spencer knew that photo would have to go on his desk in the bullpen, although the taunts he was sure the others would throw at him. Perhaps having you there would serve as a reminder that there was good in the world, despite everything he could see on the job every day.Â
âOh, and I read somewhere that hourglasses help people with anxiety because it's relaxing to watch the sand fall so they can focus on it. I thought you might like it, I bought it at an antique store."
"It's very nice" he agreed, turning the object over and checking that it actually worked "I'll open the note, okay?"
Spencer always preferred that you read his letters in private because if he saw your face and knew you were reading those words he would just cringe, but you didn't seem to share that trait so you agreed to his request. As with the box, he carefully opened the envelope and then pulled out a handwritten note.
I hope you like these little gifts that try to express a huge love.
Never doubt that you are making a change in the world and that you are surrounded by people who love you, including your old neighbor who now ironically lives too far from you.Â
Happy 30th birthday to my favorite person in the entire world. I am confident that many more years will come for both of us.
Always yours, Y/N.
"Don't cry, Reid" you asked gently, feeling your own tears at the edge of your eyes. Spencer smiled and leaned in your direction to wrap you in a hug so hopefully you wouldn't notice if he got emotional.
"Thank you" was the only thing he managed to say.Â
He wanted to thank you not only for that day but for years of friendship, years of feeling like he wasn't so alone in the world if he had you by his side and even thank you for treating him like a normal kid when no one else did. And as always, you perfectly understood what he was referring to.
You stayed like that for a few minutes; Spencer tucked into the crook of your neck and cooing at the throbbing on your pulse line, and you basking in the warmth of the contact.
âDid you like the puzzles?âÂ
"Yeah! They are greatâ he replied, as he moved away from you so that he could observe you âDo you want us to put one together?â
âSureâ you smiled âJust let me put on my pajamas and I'll be right back, okay?â
"Good. You look very beautiful in that dress, by the way. I don't know if I forgot to tell youâ he flattered you, making you smile sincerely.Â
"You chose it, remember?"
Before getting up you kindly squeezed his cheek and after changing your clothes you returned to where you were. He had chosen the puzzle with the design of a Monet painting and spread it out on the floor, where the two of you settled comfortably.
Your friend took a bunch of pieces and you took another and you guys worked in silence until little by little things started to come together. He was very good at the task and very soon he already had a considerable part assembled; although you were going a little slower you followed a constant rhythm.Â
"Hey, Spencer"
"Yeah?" he asked, too intent on finding a place for the piece in his fingers to watch you.
âWhat was your birthday wish? When blowing out the candlesâ
"Oh, I didn't wish for anything"
"Why?" you asked confused.
Spencer looked up from the puzzle and smiled at you.
"Because my birthday wish was already right here"
It seemed obvious to him, but it took you a second to understand exactly what he meant and when you finally did, your eyes gave him the sweetest look of all.
You and your friend stayed up all night until the play was over and after that you both stumbled to bed, where you fell fast asleep in each other's arms.
At some point Spencer half-opened his eyes, prisoner of a bad dream, and when he was aware of the situation he felt the peace he needed. After that it didn't take him long to get back to sleep, with a smile on his face and his whole world held in his arms.
When Kate got to your shared apartment after practice, it was obvious that her first week of training with her new team was intense when she dropped onto the couch next to you.
âGood practice?â You look over to turn and try to keep yourself from smiling when you see her smile.
She sighs, âAmazing practice. It is an adjustment, but I can do it. Iâm just glad they took a chance on me and that youâre here for support. Couldnât have done it without you.â Kate squeezes your thigh making your heart skip a beat.
To make your best friendâs transition from Iowa to Las Vegas smooth, you decided to go with her. (Of course, it wasnât because you were secretly in love with her and didnât want to be far away from her).
âYou can say it. You love me and Iâm the best,â you shrug.
Kate laughs, âYou are the best and I do love you.â
Anyways.
âDo you want something to eat or are you too tired to eat?â
âNah, just want to stay here. I feel like my legs will give out if I stand up right now.â Kate rested her head on your shoulder as she always did. You sat in silence watching TV. Her body got closer to yours keeping you warm. You always thought she was a furnace because she never was cold.
You thought she was asleep until she spoke. âHey, can I see your hand?â
You were taken by surprise but didnât hesitate. âYeah, why?â
âI just wanted to hold it.â
If Kate could read your mind sheâd hear your freaking out.
âYouâre not being subtle,â she laughed.
You cleared your throat, âD-donât know what youâre talking about.â You tried to sound as calm as you could, but your voice gave up on you.
Kate nodded and smiled. She knew about your little secret but didnât want to press you into telling her. Itâs not hers to tell.
âI hope you know that youâre not going anywhere anytime soon. I want you to stay. It was always you,â Kate whispered.
You knew that living here was never going to be temporary. Your heart is wherever she is.
She kissed the back of your hand and rubbed her thumb against your skin. Soon felt her body relax and her breath slowing down. You rested your head onto hers and fell asleep too.
It had been years again, and Spencer had yet to reach out. He hadnât wanted to invade Y/Nâs privacy by asking for her number through Adam, or having Penelope find it, despite the fact that he thought about her often. Instead, he kept the note she left tucked safely in one of his books, a reminder of the weekend they spent reconnecting in Napa Valley.
As much as he wanted to reach out, Spencer felt it was best to let Y/N take the lead. He respected her need for space and hoped that she would reach out when she was ready. Â
Meanwhile, Y/N had returned to her life in Las Vegas, trying to move on from the bittersweet memories of seeing Spencer again. She buried herself in work and spent time with Billie, occasionally checking in with Adam and Elizabeth who are doing absolutely wonderful in their new married life.
In an effort to move on, Y/N entered the dating pool. Being 26 years old at the time, she felt that she should get some experience under her belt. She went on a couple of dead-end first dates, had some second dates that fizzled out, and even the few that did make it to three or more didnât last as she either got scared and cut them off or they ended it with her.
Just when she was starting to lose hope, she met Alex. Alex was a very nice person, thoughtful and patient, and they hit it off immediately. Y/N felt comfortable around Alex in a way she hadnât with anyone else, and for the first time, she didnât feel the urge to run away. They had been casually seeing each other for about four weeks now, and Y/N was surprised at how easy it felt.
â
Years at the Behavioral Analysis Unit had left their mark on Spencer Reid. While he still possessed the same gentle spirit and brilliant mind that Y/N had always admired, he carried with him the weight of experiences that had changed him in profound ways. Spencer had been abducted by an unsub, struggled with drug addiction, been shot on the job, and so much more.
When a case brought Spencer back to Las Vegas, he found himself wondering about Y/N. It had been years since their reunion in Napa Valley, and she lingered in his thoughts.Â
He had Penelope check if Y/N was still at her old apartment, curiosity tugging at his heart. But when he learned she had moved, he hesitated to ask Penelope to find her new address. The urge to reconnect was strong, yet he respected the boundaries they had wordlessly established.
â
Sunday was shaping up to be another hectic day for the BAU. The team was deep into a complex case, and the need for caffeine was at an all-time high. Derek and Spencer volunteered to make a coffee run for everyone, hoping the fresh air would clear their minds.
As they walked into a charming little cafe, the familiar hum of conversations and the rich aroma of coffee enveloped them. Spencer ran a hand through his hair and scanned the menu, trying to decide on what to order for the team.
Derek nudged him, nodding toward the barista with a playful grin. âReid, Iâll handle the orders. Why donât you grab us a table while we wait?â
Spencer nodded, taking a moment to glance around the bustling cafe. As his eyes swept across the room, he froze, his heart stopping.
There, at a corner table, sat Y/N. She looked radiant, her laughter mingling with the soft classical music playing overhead. But she wasnât alone; sitting across from her was another person, clearly her date.Â
Spencer felt a lot of emotions surge through himâexcitement, surprise, and a hint of something else he couldnât quite place. He watched as Y/N leaned in to say something to her date, her eyes sparkling with genuine interest.
âHey, Pretty Boy, you okay?â Derekâs voice cut through his thoughts, bringing him back to the present.
Spencer cleared his throat, nodding slightly. âYeah, I just... saw someone I know.â
Derek followed Spencerâs gaze and spotted Y/N. A knowing smile spread across his face. âWell, well. Go talk to her, Reid.â
Spencer hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to do. He hadnât seen Y/N since their chance encounter in Napa Valley, and now here she was, right in front of him, living her life. He decided to leave it be, he didnât feel like being rejected again. Or worse, having a pleasant conversation end with her walking away, again.Â
Instead, he shook his head and fixed Derek with a look that said, not right now. Together they waited for their coffee and quietly chatted about the case.Â
Y/N was lost in her thoughts as she chatted with Alex. Her eyes had drifted when she heard his familiar voice. She could have sworn she imagined her date as Spencer Reid because there he was, at a table not even five feet away.
Gone were the glasses and slicked-back hair, now replaced with contacts and curls that framed his face perfectly. His usual cardigan had been traded out for a crisp button-down with the sleeves pushed up, revealing surprisingly toned forearms. The Converse he usually wore were replaced with polished oxfords.
Y/N excused herself and stood up as if possessed by an unseen force, making her way over to his table.
âSpencer...?â she said, disbelief coloring her voice as he looked up.
Derek took notice of the same girl from before, grinning widely. âYes?â
Spencer playfully hit Derek on the arm, but his laughter was short-lived. âHi, Y/N,â he said, his tone carrying a hint of distance.
âYou cut your hair,â she said, taking in his new look.
âI know,â Spencer replied, a hint of no shit in his smile.
âYou look so much older,â Y/N remarked, trying to reconcile the image of the Spencer she knew with the man standing before her.
âWell, four years will do that to a person,â Spencer said, his gaze hardening slightly.
âSo will getting shot at,â Derek jested with a mischievous grin, trying to lighten the mood.
Y/Nâs eyes widened. âYouâve been shot at??â
âWeâre in the FBI, sweetheart. You gonna introduce us, pretty boy?â Derek asked, flashing his charming smile.
Spencer had mentioned Derek to Y/N during their time together in Napa Valley, though they hadnât been extremely close then. Likewise, he hadnât told Derek much about Y/N, keeping their relationship mostly to himself.
âSure. Y/N, this is my partner Derek. Derek, this is an old friend, Y/N,â Spencer introduced them, his voice steady despite the emotions swirling inside him.
âOh, I didnât realize you were together,â Y/N said, a hint of disappointment in her voice.
âArenât you here with a date, sugar?â Derek teased, raising an eyebrow playfully.
Y/N glanced over her shoulder to see Alex, who was watching the interaction with mild curiosity. âOh yeah, yeah, I am.â
Derek chuckled, sensing the underlying tension. âWell, why donât you get back to them and leave Dr. Reid and me to our business? Hmm?â
âYeah. Yeah, Iâm sorry,â Y/N said, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment. âIt was good to see you, Spence.â
âYou too, bye Y/N,â Spencer replied, his voice cool even as his heart ached with a bittersweet feeling as she returned to her date.
As Y/N settled back into her seat across from Alex, she couldnât help but feel a tug at her heart. Seeing Spencer had stirred up emotions she thought sheâd buried long ago. She tried to focus on her date, but her mind kept drifting back to Spencer and the unexpected encounter, the way he had seemed different yet so familiar.
She found herself glancing over at Spencerâs table more often than she intended, unable to shake the feeling that something significant had just passed between them. Her thoughts were a whirlwind of confusion and longing, and she realized that she wanted him more than she cared to admit.
â
On the walk back to the precinct, Derek finally broke the silence. âAlright, Reid. You wanna tell me what that was about? Whoâs the girl?â
Spencer hesitated, then replied, âHer older brother was in my grade. We studied a lot together. I knew her from a distance. It was only a little over a year.â
âCâmon now, I know thereâs more. Summer romance, perhaps?â Derek probed with a teasing grin.
Spencer snorted. âNo, nothing like that. We were twelve.â
âYouâre killing me, dude. It canât be that bad, just tell me.â He said, throwing his friend a tired look.
âAlright, alright,â Spencer said, relenting as he recapped the wedding.Â
âI got an invitation to her brother Adam's wedding," Spencer began, a hint of wistfulness in his voice. "He was always kind to me in high school, so I felt like I should go, even though I was nervous about seeing everyone again."
Derek nodded, listening intently as Spencer continued.
"I hadn't seen Y/N in years, and I didnât know if I'd see her. Her brother booked the room arrangements, and there was a mix-up.â
Spencer paused, recalling the awkward but unexpectedly comforting encounter. "Y/N and I ended up sharing a room because there were no other available ones. It was unexpected, but we managed to reconnect."
âWhat was it like seeing her again?â Derek asked, intrigued.
âIt was surreal," Spencer admitted, a small smile playing on his lips. "She was different, but the same. We spent time reminiscing about our childhood, and for a moment, it felt like no time had passed. She was funny, charming, and... she really made me feel like I belonged there."
Derek chuckled. "Sounds like you two hit it off."
"Yeah, we did," Spencer replied, his expression turning somber. "But then it got complicated. We spent the weekend together, talking and laughing, but when it came time to really confront what was happening between us, she left without saying goodbye. She left me a note explaining that she wasn't ready for anything more."
âOh shit, man⊠and you havenât talked to her since?â Derek asked, raising an eyebrow.
âDidnât want to get rejected again,â Spencer admitted, his voice carrying a hint of resignation. âShe clearly didnât know what she wanted.â
âYeah, yeah,â Derek said thoughtfully, rubbing his stubble. âThat makes sense. From that alone, she sounds pretty wishy-washy.â
âMhm, drove me crazy,â Spencer confessed, shaking his head.
âIn a good way?â Derek asked, his eyes twinkling with amusement.
âIn every way,â Spencer replied, a soft smile tugging at his lips.
âYou gonna see her again while weâre here?â Derek pressed, curious about Spencerâs next move.
âNot sure. Sheâs seeing someone,â Spencer said, a trace of dismissiveness in his tone.
âI see⊠but you said you were friends?â Derek said with a teasing smirk.
Spencer laughed. âAlright, you got me. Maybe I should talk to her.â
âIn my extremely unbiased, objective, open-minded opinion, yes, you should,â Derek said, nodding sagely.
âShe thinks weâre dating,â Spencer said, amusement coloring his voice.
âI know,â Derek laughed, enjoying the situation.
âThanks for going with that. It felt really good,â Spencer admitted, feeling grateful for Derekâs support.
âI thought it might, Pretty Boy. Youâd do the same for me,â Derek replied, sticking his hand out for a sideways shake.
Spencer firmly took his hand, a sense of camaraderie passing between them. âYeah. I would.â
As they continued their walk, Spencer felt a sense of decidedness. Talking to Y/N seemed like the right thing to do, and with Derekâs encouragement, he was ready to take that step.Â
â
Spencer was never comfortable with the idea of invading an innocent personâs privacy, especially when it came to Y/N. He had contemplated asking Penelope to find Y/Nâs new address, but that felt like crossing a line he wasnât ready to cross. Instead, he asked her to check if Y/N still worked at the same office in Las Vegas. Penelopeâs search confirmed itâbingo.Â
By Monday afternoon, Spencer had made up his mind to see Y/N. After a productive day at work, including a briefing with Hotch and completing a geographical profile for an ongoing case, he felt ready to take the plunge.
At precisely 4:45 p.m., Spencer arrived at Y/N's office building. The glass doors reflected the late afternoon sun, casting warm hues across the lobby. Spencer took a deep breath and positioned himself near the entrance, hoping to catch her as she left for the day.
He glanced around, adjusting his jacket and trying to appear casual despite the rapid beating of his heart. People streamed out of the building, but there was no sign of Y/N yet.
In recent years, Spencer had lost a lot of his shy demeanor, replacing it with a hard edge that came from the shit he'd endured. He was no longer the timid young agent who second-guessed himself. Yet, nothing made him feel nervous quite like the thought of a confrontation with Y/N.
In the past, she had always gotten the upper hand, often steering their interactions with an ease that left him both amused and bewildered. Not that he wanted to dominate their conversations, but being able to call the shots for once would feel nice. It would be a change of pace, a chance to show her that he wasn't the same person she once knew.
He couldn't help but wonder how this meeting would go. Maybe Y/N would piss him off enough for him to walk away this time. Probably not, but it was a good thought. He had replayed this scenario countless times in his mind, envisioning a confident, collected version of himself handling the situation with poise.
But deep down, he knew that Y/N had a way of unraveling him, of reaching into the core of who he was and drawing out the raw, unfiltered version of Spencer Reid. And perhaps that was part of the reason he felt so drawn to her.
Spencer took a deep breath, reminding himself why he was here. He wanted answers, closure, or maybe just a chance to reconnect with someone who had left an indelible mark on his life. It was a step he needed to take, regardless of the outcome.
And then he saw her.
Y/N emerged from the doors, her presence instantly recognizable. She moved with a natural grace, her expression focused as she checked something on her phone. Spencer's heart skipped a beat, a flood of memories washing over him.
He called her name softly, hoping to catch her attention without startling her.Â
"Y/N?"
She looked up, her eyes widening in surprise as they locked onto his. For a moment, neither of them spoke, caught in a silent exchange of emotions and unspoken words.Â
âSpencer?â she finally said, her voice carrying disbelief and curiosity.Â
âHi,â Spencer replied, offering a tentative smile. âI hope Iâm not intruding.âÂ
Y/N blinked, processing his presence. âNo, not at all. What are you doing here?âÂ
âI wanted to see you,â Spencer admitted, his tone earnest. âIâve been thinking a lot about... everything. I didnât want to leave things as they were.âÂ
Y/N hesitated, a whirlwind of thoughts and feelings rushing through her. Seeing Spencer again was unexpected, but a part of her felt reliefâlike sheâd been waiting for this moment without realizing it.Â
âIâm glad you came,â she said finally, a soft smile breaking through her initial surprise.
Spencer nodded, not wanting to give away his excitement at her words. His heart leaped at the idea that maybe she wanted this as much as he did.
âSo⊠would you like to come to my place?â Y/N suggested, her voice gentle yet inviting. âWe could talk, catch up?â
âSure,â Spencer replied, trying to keep his tone casual even though anticipation was bubbling just beneath the surface.
â
Back in Y/N's living room, Spencer was determined to keep his emotions in check. He took a seat on the couch, his posture relaxed yet deliberate, ready to lead the conversation with a directness that was unusual for him.
Y/N returned from the kitchen with two steaming mugs of coffee, handing one to Spencer before settling into the chair across from him. She could sense the tension in the air, a blend of anticipation and unresolved feelings hanging between them.
âSo, whatâs been on your mind, Spence?â Y/N asked, her tone light but laced with curiosity.
Spencer took a deep breath, gathering his thoughts. He knew this was his chance to express what he had held back for so long, and he didnât want to shy away from the truth.
âY/N, I want to be honest with you,â he began, his voice steady and calm. âOur last encounterâthe weddingâsucked. You walked away without saying goodbye, and that hurt. A lot.â
Y/Nâs eyes softened, guilt flickering in her expression. âIâm sorry, Spencer. I didnât want to hurt you.â
âOkay,â Spencer replied, meeting her gaze with intensity. âBut you did. And I need you to understand that. I thought we had something real, something worth exploring, but you ran.â
Y/N felt a knot tighten in her chest, Spencer's words hitting home. She had always known there were unresolved feelings between them, but hearing it so plainly brought it all to the forefront.
âI was scared,â she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. âScared of what it meant, scared of messing it up. I didnât know how to handle it.â
Spencer nodded, taking in her admission. âI get that. I do. But you need to know that it wasnât easy for me either. I wanted to be there for you, but I couldnât if you wouldnât let me.â
There was a moment of silence, the weight of their conversation settling in. Y/N took a sip of her coffee, allowing Spencerâs words to sink in.
âIâm sorry, Spencer,â she said again, her sincerity clear in her eyes. âI didnât realize how much it affected you.â
Spencer softened slightly, seeing her genuine regret. âI donât want to hold grudges, Y/N. I just needed you to know where I stood.â
Y/N nodded, a sense of relief mingling with her guilt. âThank you for telling me. It means a lot.â
They sat in silence for a moment, the tension easing as they both absorbed the emotional exchange. Spencer, though still guarded, felt a sense of closure beginning to form.
âIâm glad we talked,â he said finally, a hint of a smile on his lips. âIt feels good to clear the air.â
âMe too,â Y/N replied, returning his smile. âIâve missed you, Spencer. More than I realized.â
âI missed you too,â he said, smiling softly.
They sat there for a moment, the silence filled with an unspoken acknowledgment of the tug they both felt towards one another. Spencer could sense the nervous energy radiating from Y/N, excitement and uncertainty that matched his own feelings.
âSo, um, how long are you in town for?â Y/N stumbled over her words slightly, a bit flustered by how handsome Spencer looked sitting in her living room, alone, in private.
âJust until we close the case,â Spencer replied, rubbing his hands on his pants, feeling awkward. âHopefully not long.â
âI see,â she said, her voice trailing off.
âYup,â he said, trying to find the right words to bridge the gap between them.
âWell, Iâm glad I got to see you at all,â Y/N said, offering a small, tentative smile.
âMe too,â Spencer echoed, his mind racing with thoughts of what this meeting could mean for them.
âUm, SpenceâI, if you want, would you want to get dinner with me?â Y/N asked, her voice carrying a note of hope.
âLike a date?â he said bluntly, catching her off guard.
Y/Nâs face flushed fully, something Spencer thoroughly enjoyed, feeling a bit smug at having elicited such a reaction. âYeah⊠like a date.â
âArenât you seeing someone?â Spencer asked, the hint of annoyance creeping into his voice.
âOh, uh, Alex? I mean, kind of, butââ
âThen, no,â he said firmly, cutting her off.
âNo, Spencer, itâs not like that. Itâs casual,â Y/N tried to explain, her tone pleading.
âIs everything casual to you?â he snapped, standing up abruptly. âYou just run away when things get real?â
Y/N was taken aback by the intensity of his words, her heart sinking as she realized how deeply she had hurt him. âSpencer, thatâs not fairââ
âIsnât it?â he interrupted, his eyes flashing with anger and hurt. âYou left without a word, and now you want to pick up like nothing happened?â
âI didnât know what to do back then,â she said, her voice breaking. âI was scared. Of what it meant, of how I felt. Iâm sorry.â
Spencer sighed, running a hand through his hair. The frustration he felt was visible, but so was the longing that had never quite faded. âI just needed you to be honest with me, Y/N. To let me in.â
âI know,â she whispered, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. âI know I messed up, and I donât expect you to forgive me right away. But I want to try, Spencer. I want to make it right.â
Spencer hesitated, the conflict within him evident. He had imagined this moment many times, wondering if he would ever have the courage to confront Y/N about the past. Now that it was happening, he wasnât sure how to navigate the emotions swirling inside him.
âLook,â he said, his tone softening slightly. âI need some time to think about all of this. I want to believe you, but I need to know youâre serious.â
âI am,â Y/N promised, her voice steady despite the vulnerability in her eyes. âI care about you, Spencer. I always have.â
They stood there in the living room, the air thick with unresolved tension and a hint of hope. Spencer took a deep breath, feeling the weight of their shared history and the possibility of a future that might still be within reach.
âOkay,â he said finally, nodding. âIâm going to go back to my hotel, alone. Give me your phone number and Iâll call you tomorrow. But no more games, Y/N.â
âNo more games,â she agreed, a small, hopeful smile breaking through the uncertainty.
â
When Spencer arrived at the precinct in the morning, he immediately dove into his work. The case was complex, demanding his full attention and analytical skills. As he focused on the files spread out before him, he failed to notice the bouquet of white and lilac roses sitting elegantly in a mosaic glass vase on the front desk.
After everyone got settled in and Hotch conducted the morning debrief, one of the deputies walked in, holding the vase of flowers.
âHey, someone left these at the front desk. Theyâre for a... Doc Ock?â the deputy announced with a bemused expression.
Spencer flushed, caught off guard by the unexpected delivery and the memory of waking up wrapped around Y/N. He quickly stood up, his face a shade of pink as he made his way to the front of the room.
âThank you,â he said with a nod, taking the flowers from the deputyâs hands.
As he returned to his desk, he could feel the eyes of his teammates on him, each of them filled with curiosity. He tried to ignore the knowing smiles and raised eyebrows as he carefully retrieved the card nestled within the bouquet.
Spencer unfolded the card, angling it slightly to avoid any prying eyes. His heart skipped a beat as he recognized Y/Nâs now familiar handwriting.
Hey Doc,
I think it's silly that people usually only buy flowers for celebration or apologies. I also think that you deserve flowers all the time for any reason. Beautiful people should have beautiful things. I know youâre going to read into the meaning of the colors, and yes, I did my research. While white roses signify apology, I already said sorry, so youâll have to take them for the meaning I intended: a new beginning. As for the lilacâŠ
Spencer couldnât help but smile as he read the note, his heart warming at the thoughtfulness behind it. He felt a sense of joy and anticipation that he realized only ever came with being around Y/N.
âWhoâs it from, Pretty Boy?â Derek teased, trying to get a glimpse of the card.
Spencer quickly slipped the note back into the envelope, maintaining an air of mystery. âJust a friend,â he replied, unable to hide the hint of happiness in his voice.
âLooks like a pretty special friend,â JJ remarked with a wink.
Spencer nodded, feeling grateful for the unexpected gesture and the possibility of rekindling what he once thought was lost.
âYeah,â he said, a soft smile playing on his lips. âShe is.â
As he placed the vase on his desk, the sweet scent of the roses filled the room, a reminder of the new beginning that awaited him with Y/N. It was a moment of hope and renewal, one that Spencer cherished deeply.
It was hard to focus on work that day, with Y/N heavy on Spencerâs mind once again. She was absolutely nuts in his eyes, sending lilac roses of all thingsâŠlove at first sight.
â
Y/N received Spencer's phone call as promised. She was so nervous sheâd miss it that she elected to work from home that day. When the phone finally rang, she took a deep breath before answering, feeling the anticipation and excitement.
âHello?â Y/N said, a smile evident in her tone.
âHey, psycho,â Spencer teased, a hint of laughter in his voice.
âIâm afraid you have the wrong number,â Y/N replied playfully. âIâm crazy, not a psycho.â
âAgree to disagree,â Spencer countered, grinning on his end of the line.
âThatâs a heavy accusation coming from you, Doctor,â Y/N said, settling into the easy banter they had always shared.
âLilac roses?â Spencer questioned, shifting the conversation back to the flowers she had sent.
âYou figured it out, huh?â Y/N replied, a touch of pride in her voice.
âYou knew I would,â Spencer said, his tone softening.
âI knew you would,â Y/N echoed, the sincerity in her words clear.
âYou wanted me to know,â Spencer pressed, curious about the depth of her intentions.
âI needed you to know,â Y/N confessed, her voice carrying a vulnerability she rarely showed.
âWhy?â Spencer asked, genuinely wanting to understand.
There was a pause on the line, the weight of the moment hanging between them. Y/N took a deep breath, choosing her words carefully
âBecause itâs true,â she said finally, her voice steady but full of emotion. âIâve always had a hard time expressing myself, especially when it comes to you, Spencer. I wanted you to understand how important you are to me. How important youâve always been to me.â
Spencer felt his heart swell at her words, the sincerity and openness touching something deep within him. He had always sensed a special connection between them, but hearing Y/N express it so openly made him realize just how much he had missed her.
âThank you,â Spencer said softly, his voice holding gratitude and affection.
âAnything for you,â Y/N replied, her words warm and reassuring
âI have to go, but Iâll talk to you soon,â Spencer said, regret tinged with the promise of future conversations.
âOkay, talk soon,â Y/N responded, a smile audible in her voice.
They ended the call, and Spencer stood for a moment, phone still in hand, processing the conversation. He felt a renewed sense of hope, knowing that this was just the beginning of a new chapterâone that he hoped would lead them back to each other, this time for good.
â
Y/N was stuck smiling like a moron after her conversation with Spencer, feeling like a schoolgirl with a crush all over again. Her heart was fluttering, and she couldn't stop replaying the conversation in her head, each word replaying with a sense of joy and promise. Thank god she stayed home from work, her coworkers would have had a field day with the dopey look on her face.Â
That was something Alex never made her feel. Alex. Shit.
Her mind jolted back to reality as she realized she had another important call to make. The weight of her decision settled in her chest, but she knew what she needed to do.
Y/N took a deep breath, pulling up Alex's number on her phone. She knew it wouldnât be an easy conversation, but it was necessary. Alex deserved honesty, and Y/N had to follow her heart, even if it meant ending things with someone who had been nothing but kind to her.
After a few rings, Alex picked up, their voice warm and familiar. "Hey, Y/N. Howâs it going?"
âHey, Alex,â Y/N replied, trying to keep her tone light despite the seriousness of the call. âDo you have a minute to talk?â
âSure,â they said, picking up on the slight tension in her voice. âWhatâs up?â
Y/N took another deep breath, choosing her words carefully. âI wanted to talk to you about something important. Iâve been doing some thinking, and I feel like itâs only fair to be honest with you.â
âOkayâŠâ Alex said, their tone cautious.
With that weight lifted, her mind returned to Spencer, and the possibilities of what their renewed relationship might bring. Y/N felt hopeful about the future. She was ready to embrace whatever came next, knowing that this time, she would be honest with herself and with Spencer about what she truly wanted.
â
Unfortunately, Spencer didnât have another chance to see Y/N before the team had to return to Virginia. The case had wrapped up quickly, and duty called them back to Quantico sooner than he had hoped. As the plane soared through the sky, Spencer found himself staring out the window, his thoughts consumed by Y/N and the possibilities that lay ahead.
Once back in his apartment, Spencer wasted no time. He dropped his bags, kicked off his shoes, and immediately reached for his phone. He needed to hear Y/Nâs voice, to let her know that he was serious about pursuing whatever it was they had rekindled.
He dialed her number, anticipation building as the line rang.
âHello?â Y/N answered, her voice a comforting balm to his weary mind.
âHey, itâs me,â Spencer said, smiling despite his exhaustion. âI just got back home.â
âHey, me. Your voice sounds different here, did it get deeper?â Y/N teased, her playful tone immediately lightening Spencerâs mood.
âYouâre an idiot,â Spencer laughed affectionately, the sound of her voice soothing the stress from his long journey.
âSo first Iâm a psycho, and now Iâm an idiot. Thatâs a lot of negative self-talk, me. Are you okay?â Y/N quipped, her humor shining through.
Spencer got a good laugh in, thoroughly entertained by Y/Nâs sense of humor. âIâm okay,â he assured, shaking his head in amusement.
âListen, I know we didnât get much time together while I was in Vegas, but I wanted to tell you that Iâm serious about us. Iâd like to plan a trip out to visit you as soon as I can so we can try dating. See if it even works between the two of us.â
Y/N was silent for a moment, and Spencer held his breath, waiting for her response.
âIâd really like that, Spencer,â she finally said, her tone filled with warmth and excitement. âI was actually hired by a magazine to write this article, and I think youâd be the perfect person to help me!â
âOh, really?â Spencer asked, still gullible despite her teasing tone. âWhatâs it about?â
âOh, youâre going to love it! Itâs going to be called âHow to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,â andââ
âOn second thought, Iâm so busy here I donât think I can get any time off,â Spencer teased seriously, playing along with her joke.
âOh no! My perfect plan!â Y/N laughed, her voice a melody of genuine joy.
Spencer chuckled, his heart feeling light and full. âYou got me there. But seriously, Iâd love to visit.â
âGood, because I wasnât joking about the visiting part,â Y/N said, her voice softening. âI really want to see you, Spencer. And not just for an article.â
âI want to see you too,â Spencer replied earnestly. âIâll look at my schedule and figure out when I can come. I want to make this work.â
âTake your time,â Y/N reassured, her sincerity evident. âWhenever you can come, Iâll be here.â
They spent the rest of the conversation discussing potential dates and places they could visit together, both feeling the excitement of what lay ahead. Their banter was effortless, their connection undeniable, and Spencer found himself looking forward to this new chapter.
â
As luck would have it, Y/Nâs job offered much more flexibility than Spencerâs, allowing her to take time off with relative ease. With that in mind, Spencer approached Hotch about taking two weeks off, explaining his plans and the importance of the time off. Hotch agreed, granting Spencer the time away with the condition that he remain available in case a serious case arose. In such an event, Spencer would work from Quantico alongside Penelope.
On the other hand, Y/N was allotted a two-week vacation on the condition that she take her computer and remain accessible for any urgent work matters. She readily agreed, buzzing with excitement at the thought of seeing Spencer and experiencing his world in Virginia.Â
The month leading up to her trip seemed to fly by. Spencer had been called on another case almost immediately after their initial reunion, but they stayed in constant contact.
Now, the day had finally arrived. Y/N sat on the plane, her heart racing with anticipation. She pulled out her phone, sending Spencer a quick text to let him know she had made it onto the plane and that they were about to take off.
Hey Spence, I just wanted to let you know Iâm on the plane, and weâre about to take off! I canât wait to see you. :)
She glanced out the window as the plane began to taxi down the runway. As the plane lifted into the sky, Y/N closed her eyes, letting the hum of the engines soothe her nerves. The flight would be a few hours, giving her plenty of time to reflect on the past and the possibilities of the future.
Meanwhile, in Virginia Spencer received Y/Nâs text just as he was tidying up his apartment, a sense of excitement coursing through him. He had spent the past week preparing for her visit, ensuring everything was perfect for her arrival. He wanted to share his world with her, to show her the life he had built in Virginia.
He texted back quickly, his fingers flying over the keys.
Hey, Y/N! Iâm so glad to hear youâre on your way. I canât wait to see you. Safe travels!
As he hit send, Spencer felt a flutter of anticipation. It had been a long time since he had looked forward to something with such eagerness, and the prospect of spending time with Y/N filled him with joy.
â
Spencer stood outside the baggage claim at Dulles International Airport, his heart racing with anticipation. In his hand, he held a small, handwritten sign that read Mrs. Ock, a playful nod to the nickname that had become a lighthearted joke between them.
As travelers streamed past him, Spencer scanned the crowd, his eyes searching for the familiar face he had been looking forward to seeing. The excitement was palpable, a mix of nerves and happiness bubbling within him.
And then he saw her.
Y/N emerged from the crowd, looking slightly travel-worn but radiating the same beauty and charm that had drawn him to her in the first place. Her eyes lit up when she spotted him, a smile breaking across her face as she approached.
âSpencer!â she called, her voice rising above the chatter of the busy terminal.
He grinned, holding up the sign as she walked toward him. âWelcome to Virginia, Mrs. Ock,â he said, his tone teasing but affectionate.
Y/N laughed, reaching him with open arms. âI canât believe you actually made a sign,â she said, wrapping him in a hug that felt both familiar and new.
âIt seemed fitting,â Spencer replied, embracing her tightly, feeling the warmth and comfort of her presence. âIâve been looking forward to this.â
âMe too,â Y/N said, pulling back slightly to look at him, her eyes sparkling with joy. âIâve missed you.â
They lingered for a moment, soaking in the reality of being together again. The weeks apart had only heightened their anticipation, and now, standing face to face, it felt like no time had passed at all.
âSo, whatâs the plan?â Y/N asked, her excitement evident as she retrieved her luggage from the carousel.
âWell,â Spencer began, taking her suitcase in hand, a mischievous glint in his eye. âI thought we could start with a seven-hour history of every event that has ever taken place in Virginia, followed by a pop quiz. And then, you could help me translate this new book I got from Korean to Russian.â
Y/N burst into laughter, shaking her head at his playful seriousness. âSounds perfect,â she replied, playing along. âBut before the history lesson, are there any high ledges I can stand on top of? You know, just for dramatic effect.â
Spencer chuckled, enjoying their banter. âOh, Iâm sure we can find a nice, tall building for you to contemplate life from. It might even offer a panoramic view of all the historical landmarks Iâm going to lecture you about.â
âExcellent. Iâll need a good view while I ponder my life choices,â Y/N teased, giving him a playful nudge as they made their way through the bustling airport.
As they walked out into the warm Virginia air, Spencer felt a sense of happiness he had forgotten he could feel. The playfulness between them was infectious, a reminder of the tie they shared that had survived time and distance.
âSeriously, though,â Spencer said, turning to face Y/N as they reached the car. âI have a few places in mind that I think youâll really enjoy. But we can save sightseeing for another day. Iâm sure youâre tired.â
âSpence,â she said, gazing up at him with a smile, âIâll do anything you want to do.â
A mischievous glint appeared in Spencerâs eyes as he replied, âWell, I was recently gifted the Kama Sutra...â
âSpencer Reid!â Y/N exclaimed, her cheeks flushing as she playfully smacked his arm. Her laughter filled the air, a sound that warmed Spencerâs heart.
He chuckled, enjoying her reaction. âIâm kidding, Iâm kidding. But really, we can do whatever you feel like. Iâm just happy youâre here.â
Y/N shook her head, a grin still on her face as she settled into the car. âYouâve changed, Doctor Reid. I like this new side of you.â
Spencer flashed a charming smile as he started the engine. âYou bring it out in me,â he admitted, glancing at her with genuine affection.
â
As they drove through the quaint streets of Virginia, the passing scenery was a blend of historic charm and natural beauty, with tree-lined streets and quaint buildings that painted a picturesque backdrop for their reunion.
âVirginia is beautiful,â Y/N remarked, her eyes taking in the scenery with awe.
âIt is,â Spencer agreed, feeling a swell of pride. âAnd Iâm glad I get to show it to you.â
The drive felt both comforting and exhilarating, the anticipation of the days ahead making each mile more exciting.
When they finally arrived at Spencerâs apartment, Y/N stepped out of the car, her eyes wide with curiosity and excitement.
âThis is it,â Spencer said, opening the door and motioning for her to enter. âWelcome to my humble abode.â
Y/N stepped inside, taking in the carefully curated space that reflected Spencerâs personality perfectly. The shelves were lined with books, of course, and the decor was a mix of comfort and intellectual charm.
âItâs exactly how I imagined it,â Y/N said, turning to him with a smile. âCozy and full of books.â
Spencer chuckled, closing the door behind them. âI hope itâs not too overwhelming.â
âNot at all,â Y/N replied, her tone sincere. âItâs perfect.â
âWell, Iâll show you my bedroom. We can put your stuff in there,â Spencer said, leading the way down the hallway.
âOh great! And where will you be sleeping?â Y/N teased, raising an eyebrow as she followed him.
âIn the bathtub, obviously,â Spencer replied with a smirk.
âFantastic, we donât need a repeat of last time,â Y/N shot back, grinning at the memory of their playful exchanges.
âSure, Mrs. Ock, I know how much you hated it,â Spencer quipped, chuckling at their shared joke.
âI am not at liberty to confirm or deny that,â Y/N said, feigning innocence.
âMhm,â Spencer said, rolling his eyes playfully as they reached his bedroom. âSo, this is the bedroom, where I like to keep my clothes and lie awake at night thinking about serial killers.â
âOhh, so relaxing,â Y/N said, taking in the room with a mock-serious expression. âIs this where you keep the Kama Sutra too?â
Spencer laughed, shaking his head. âNo, thatâs in a special place reserved for when I really need to unwind after a long day.â
âOh, of course,â Y/N said, nodding sagely. âEveryone needs a little light reading before bed.â
They both burst into laughter, the easy banter between them an indication of the comfort they shared.Â
As Y/N unpacked her belongings, she felt a sense of belonging that she hadnât anticipated. Spencerâs space was filled with little details that made it uniquely hisâbookmarks tucked into half-read novels, maps pinned to the walls, and a cozy armchair that looked like it had been well-loved over the years.
âThanks for letting me stay here,â Y/N said, glancing over at Spencer as she placed her suitcase in the corner.
âOf course,â Spencer replied, his voice warm with sincerity. âIâm really glad youâre here.â
Y/N smiled, feeling the weight of the journey that had led them to this moment. The excitement and familiarity, a step into the unknown that felt just right.
â
That evening, after Y/N and Spencer enjoyed some takeout for dinner, they settled on Spencerâs couch, ready to wind down with a movie. The room was cozy and dimly lit, the perfect setting for a relaxing night in.
âIâm not watching How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,â Spencer declared as they discussed movie options, a playful smirk on his face.
âItâs a classic!â Y/N protested, leaning back into the cushions with an exaggerated pout.
âItâs literally not,â Spencer countered, chuckling at her enthusiasm.
âBut I love that movie,â Y/N insisted, giving him her best puppy-dog eyes.
âAnd I do not care at all,â Spencer replied, shaking his head with mock sternness.
âFine, asshole, what do you want to watch?â Y/N relented, rolling her eyes but unable to hide her smile.
âWe could watch one of the Star Wars movies,â Spencer suggested, his eyes lighting up at the thought.
âLet me guess⊠Return of the Jedi?â Y/N teased, raising an eyebrow knowingly.
âNoâŠâ Spencer said, dragging out the word in a way that told Y/N she had guessed right.
âYou just want to see Princess Leia in a bikini!â she exclaimed, playfully nudging him with her elbow.
Spencer laughed, the sound genuine and free. âIâll have you know that Return of the Jedi is a pivotal moment in the sagaâs narrative arc, with or without the bikini.â
âOh, sure, sure. Itâs all about the ânarrative arc,ââ Y/N teased, putting air quotes around his words.
âFine, if you insist,â Spencer said, finally admitting with a sheepish grin. âLeia does have her moments.â
âBusted!â Y/N laughed, delighted by his admission.
Spencer rolled his eyes, feigning exasperation, but he couldnât hide his smile. âWhat can I say? I have a soft spot for rebellious princesses.â
âDonât we all?â Y/N said, settling back against the couch cushions. âAlright, letâs watch it. But I reserve the right to critique every plot hole and outdated special effect.â
âDeal,â Spencer agreed, grabbing the remote and selecting Return of the Jedi.
As the opening crawl began, Y/N and Spencer settled in, the familiar theme music filling the room. They watched as the story unfolded, occasionally pausing to discuss their favorite scenes or to laugh at Y/Nâs witty commentary on the more dated aspects of the film.
About halfway through the movie, Y/N got up to go to the bathroom. When she returned, she was surprised to find Spencer waiting with a playful look in his eyes. As she walked around the couch, he held out his hand to her, signaling for her to take it.
With a curious smile, Y/N accepted his hand, only to be gently pulled down next to him, their sides pressed comfortably together. Spencer then let go of her hand in favor of wrapping his arm around her shoulders, pulling her closer, and kissing her head softly.
âDid⊠did I just get romanced by Spencer Reid?â Y/N asked, her voice filled with teasing disbelief.
âShhh, the movieâs on,â Spencer replied, a hint of a smile playing on his lips.
âAre you flirting with me?â Y/N pressed, glancing up at him with a knowing grin.
âNo idea what youâre talking about,â Spencer said, feigning innocence as he tried to focus on the screen.
Y/N wasnât having it. She proceeded to poke her fingers into Spencerâs ticklish side, causing him to squirm and laugh despite himself.
âOkay, uncle! Uncle!â Spencer finally conceded between fits of laughter. âYes, Iâm flirting with you!â
âGood, loser,â Y/N said, settling back against him with a satisfied smile.
âIâm going to remember this,â Spencer warned playfully.
âYou remember everything,â Y/N teased, poking him gently in the ribs.
â
As they tidied up and got ready to call it a night, Y/N couldnât help but reflect on how perfect the evening had been. The easy laughter and shared moments reminded her of why she had been so drawn to Spencer in the first place.
âThanks for indulging me,â Spencer said, turning to face her as they stood in the living room.
âYou gave me no choice," Y/N teased, "I hope you dream of me in the golden bikini.â
Spencer raised an eyebrow, a playful glint in his eye. âIf youâll excuse me, I need to go find my⊠reading material.â
âPervert!â Y/N laughed, swatting his arm. âYouâre so bold now.â
âIs that okay?â Spencer asked, his voice dropping to a more serious tone as he searched her eyes for an answer.
âItâs more than okay,â Y/N replied softly, her gaze meeting his with amusement and something deeper.
The two got ready for bed, Spencer being convinced Y/N had put on the smallest things she could find in her suitcase to torture him. Luckily, he wasnât still the same bumbling idiot he was four years agoâhe didn't get hard when the wind brushed by anymore.
He might not actually have the Kama Sutra, but he had finally indulged in self-pleasure. Let's just say, he holds himself together a lot better now.
â
Spencer could not hold himself together at all. He woke up spooning Y/N once again, albeit less like an octopus and more like a boyfriend. His very hard dick was pressing into her very soft ass, waking the rest of his body up very quickly. He swallowed, trying to calm himself and think of literally anything else, but it was no use.
The feel of her warmth against him, the rise and fall of her breathing, was all-consuming. Not wanting to scare her too soon, especially considering how things went last time, Spencer eased out of bed as carefully as possible, trying not to disturb her. He slipped into the shower, hoping the cold water might calm his nerves.
Y/N didnât even remember falling asleep last night; she was just so comfortable in Spencerâs bed. She was surrounded by the rich smell of him, the warmth of his covers, and the knowledge that he was there. It was as if the sheets were wrapped around her like a cocoon of security, and she didnât really want to get up.
She sighed contentedly, letting her eyes drift open, only to find Spencer missing from the bed. Much to her disappointment, he wasnât beside her anymore. But the sound of the shower running from the bathroom clued her in to where he had run off to.
Spencerâs apartment only had one bathroom, and now that she was tuned into the sound of running water, staying in bed was a luxury she couldnât afford. The pressing need to pee was becoming more urgent by the second.
Getting out of bed, she padded softly toward the bathroom, considering the situation. This might be too intimate for two people who said they would try dating but still hadnât even kissed. But it was this or pee on his floor. Being the germaphobe Spencer is, she didnât think heâd appreciate that too much.
She hesitated for a moment, then raised her hand to knock gently on the bathroom door. âSpencer?â she called, her voice slightly muffled by the door.
Startled by her voice, Spencer dropped the soap with a thud. He cursed under his breath, fumbling to pick it up. âUh, yeah?â he replied, trying to sound casual despite the surprise.
âCan I come in?â Y/N asked, shifting from foot to foot, hoping heâd understand her urgency.
â...Why?â Spencer asked cautiously, the water continuing to patter around him in the shower.
Y/N couldnât help but smirk, even though he couldnât see it. âWell, I didnât get to see you naked in Napa,â she teased, hoping to lighten the situation with a joke.
âY/N!â Spencer spluttered, feeling his cheeks flush even though he knew she was just kidding.
âI need to pee really bad,â she admitted, the humor dropping from her tone to emphasize the urgency.
There was a brief pause, and Y/N could almost hear the wheels turning in Spencerâs head as he considered her request.
âFine,â Spencer finally relented with a sigh, âjust donât look, please. Itâs a glass shower.â
âPromise,â Y/N replied, her tone both relieved and playful. She opened the door just enough to slip inside, determined to keep her eyes averted as she made a beeline for the toilet.
As she settled down, she couldnât help but chuckle at the situation, the familiarity of it feeling strangely comforting. âYou know, this is definitely a new level of intimacy for us.â
Spencer chuckled, shaking his head as he tried to focus on rinsing off. âYeah, well, just another day in the life of Dr. Reid.â
Y/N finished up and washed her hands, keeping her back turned to him the entire time to respect his request for privacy. As she headed back out, she paused by the door, glancing over her shoulder with a mischievous glint in her eye.
âThanks, Spence. Oh, one more thing,â she said, a teasing lilt in her voice.
âWhatâs that?â Spencer asked, glancing at her curiously from behind the glass shower door.
âDid your ass get bigger?â she quipped, unable to resist the opportunity to tease him a little more.
Spencer burst into laughter, the sound echoing off the tiles. âGet out!â he exclaimed, shaking his head in amused disbelief.
Y/N grinned, giving him a cheeky wave before slipping out of the bathroom, feeling lighthearted. She left Spencer to finish his shower with amusement and affection for the woman who had quickly become such an important part of his life.
â
Spencer and Y/N spent the day exploring all of Spencerâs favorite spots. They strolled through parks, visited local bookstores, and even stopped by a quaint cafĂ© Spencer adored. Y/N found herself overflowing with adoration for the man who seemed to find joy and wonder in the simplest of things. She admired the way he spoke passionately about his interests, the light in his eyes when he shared a new fact, and the genuine kindness he showed to everyone they encountered.
Spencer, on the other hand, felt his heart swell with every smile Y/N gave him. He couldnât shake the feeling that he might be falling in love with her, something that both excited and terrified him. Her laughter, her curiosity, and the way she made him feel like he was the only person in the world were intoxicating.
As the day turned to evening, they ended up back at Spencerâs apartment per his request that they dress nicely for dinner reservations he had made at a fancy restaurant. The thought of a romantic evening filled him with anticipation and a hint of nervousness.
Spencer left Y/N to use the bathroom, only needing to change clothes and tousle his hair a bit. He opted for a crisp, tailored suit that brought out the color of his eyes, feeling it was a special enough occasion to warrant the extra effort.
Y/N, meanwhile, took her time selecting the best dress she had packed, one that hugged her curves just right and made her feel confident. She applied slightly more makeup than usual, enhancing her features and adding a touch of elegance to her appearance. She wanted to impress, knowing that this was a night she wanted to remember.
When she emerged from the bathroom, Spencer was sitting in his living room, engrossed in a book. He looked up as she entered, and his eyes widened in appreciation.
âReady to go?â Y/N asked, trying to sound casual despite the flutter of nerves in her stomach.
Spencer glanced over his shoulder, the angle making his jaw look extra sharp. His breath caught for a moment as he took in her transformation. âJesus, I didnât know you could clean up that well.â
âShut up, Doctor,â Y/N replied, blushing under his intense gaze.
âIâm serious,â Spencer said, putting his book on the table and standing up. He approached her, his eyes never leaving hers. âYouâre breathtaking.â
âAnd youâre cheesy,â Y/N said, trying to deflect the compliment but unable to hide her smile.
âYou love it,â Spencer teased, his voice low and playful.
âThe juryâs still out,â Y/N replied, though her voice betrayed her amusement.
âYeah?â Spencer asked, stepping closer until he was right in front of her, his breath fanning over her face. His proximity sent a thrill through her, and she felt her heart skip a beat.
âUh-huh,â Y/N managed to say, her voice a whisper as she met his gaze, feeling the tension and anticipation crackling in the air between them.
Spencer reached up and gently tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, his touch soft and reverent. He looked at her with such warmth and sincerity that she felt herself melt under his gaze.
âLetâs go,â Spencer said softly, offering his arm to her.
Y/N took it, feeling a sense of excitement as they headed out the door, ready to enjoy an evening that promised to be as magical as the day they had shared.
â
After being seated in the gorgeous restaurant, Y/N and Spencer settled into the comfortable ambiance, surrounded by soft candlelight and the murmur of conversations from other patrons. The place was elegant, with high ceilings and ornate decorations that gave it a timeless charm. Spencer had chosen well, and Y/N couldnât help but feel a thrill of excitement at the thought of this special evening.
As they perused the menu, the conversation naturally flowed into laughter and stories, each taking turns recounting moments that had shaped their lives since they last saw each other.
âI swear!â Y/N exclaimed, her eyes wide with amusement. âHand to my heart, Adam thought he could handle watching Lizzie give birth. He took one look at the head crowning and passed out!â
Spencer chuckled, shaking his head. âThat sounds like Adam. Always so confident until reality hits.â
Y/N laughed, nodding in agreement. âLizzie was not impressed. She had to finish giving birth and then tend to him once he came around. He claims he wasnât out for long, but I swear it was a solid minute before he came to.â
âI can just imagine the look on Lizzieâs face,â Spencer said, grinning. âShe must have been livid.â
âOh, she was,â Y/N confirmed, giggling. âBut you know Adam. He made it up to her with his charm and a dozen apologies.â
Spencer leaned back in his chair, enjoying the easy rapport they shared. It felt good to laugh and reminisce, the years between them melting away with every shared story.
âWhat about you?â Y/N asked, her curiosity piqued. âAny memorable moments youâve had to deal with recently?â
Spencer paused, considering the past few years. âWell, there was that time we had to deal with a bomb threat at a library. I was in the middle of reshelving a section when they called in the evacuation.â
âA bomb threat?â Y/N said, eyes widening. âThat sounds terrifying.â
âIt was,â Spencer admitted, though his tone remained light. âBut it all worked out in the end. The threat was a hoax, but not before my team teased me about being more concerned for the books than myself.â
Y/N laughed, shaking her head in disbelief. âYou would be more worried about the books.â
âGuilty as charged,â Spencer replied, a playful glint in his eyes.
â
As the evening unfolded, the restaurant's attentive waitstaff served them a series of exquisite dishes, each one more delicious than the last. Spencer and Y/N shared bites of their meals, their mutual enjoyment adding another layer of intimacy to the night.
âHave you ever tried this before?â Spencer asked, offering a forkful of his dish to Y/N.
âNo, but it looks amazing,â Y/N said, leaning forward to taste it. âWow, thatâs incredible.â
âI thought youâd like it,â Spencer said, pleased with her reaction.
Y/N returned the favor, offering him a bite from her plate. âYou have to try this one. Itâs divine.â
Spencer obliged, savoring the flavor. âYou have excellent taste,â he complimented, earning a satisfied smile from Y/N.
As they continued to share their meal, Spencer found himself more and more captivated by Y/N. Her laughter, her stories, the way her eyes lit up with enthusiasmâit all made him realize just how much he had missed having her in his life.
â
Toward the end of the meal, as they lingered over dessert, Spencer took a moment to reflect on everything that had led to this point. The twists and turns, the missed connections, and finally, the chance to reconnect.
âY/N,â Spencer said, his voice carrying a note of sincerity that caught her attention. âIâm really glad youâre here.â
Y/N looked at him, her expression softening. âI am too, Spencer. Iâve missed thisâus.â
There was a moment of silence, but it was a comfortable one, filled with the understanding and union that words sometimes failed to express. Spencer reached across the table, his fingers lightly grazing Y/Nâs hand, feeling the warmth and softness of her skin against his own.
Her heart fluttered at the contact, and she couldnât help but smile, feeling a sense of happiness and contentment.
âIâve thought about this so many times,â Y/N admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. âAbout us, about what might have been if weâd stayed in touch.â
Spencer nodded, understanding exactly what she meant. âMe too. Itâs funny how life works sometimes, bringing people back together when you least expect it.â
Y/N laughed softly, the sound like music to his ears. âI guess some things are just meant to be, even if they take a little detour.â
Their eyes met, and Spencer felt a swell of emotion, realizing that this was a moment he wanted to remember forever. It wasnât just about the past or the what-ifs, but about the present and the possibilities that lay ahead.
âSo, what do you think?â Spencer asked, his tone playful yet sincere. âAbout us trying to make this work?â
Y/N took a deep breath, considering the question. It was a big step, but one she was ready to take.
âI think itâs worth a shot,â she replied, her eyes shining with hope. âIâd like to see where this goes, Spencer. I really would.â
Spencerâs heart soared at her words, the promise of a new beginning filling him with excitement and anticipation.
â
As they finished their dessert and prepared to leave the restaurant, Spencer and Y/N felt a sense of optimism and joy. The night had been perfect, a blend of laughter, shared memories, and heartfelt conversations that brought them closer together than ever before.
âReady to head back?â Spencer asked, offering his hand to help her up from the table.
âReady when you are,â Y/N replied, taking his hand and feeling a thrill at the touch.
They walked out of the restaurant into the cool evening air, hand in hand, the stars twinkling above them like a promise of new adventures to come.
As they strolled back to Spencerâs apartment, the city lights casting a warm glow around them, they talked about everything and nothing, the conversation flowing as naturally as it always had.
When they reached the apartment, Spencer held the door open for her, a gentlemanly gesture that made Y/Nâs heart flutter.
âThank you,â she said, stepping inside and feeling the comfort of his presence beside her.
âMy pleasure,â Spencer replied, a smile tugging at his lips.
Once inside, Y/N kicked off her heels and sighed contentedly, the evening having been everything she had hoped for and more. Spencer joined her on the couch, and they sat together, savoring the moment.
âToday was amazing,â Y/N said, resting her head on his shoulder.
âIâm glad,â Spencer replied, wrapping his arm around her and pulling her closer. âI wanted it to be special.â
âIt was,â Y/N said, her voice filled with gratitude and affection. âThank you, Spencer.â
They sat there for a while, wrapped in each otherâs arms, the quiet of the apartment a soothing backdrop to their thoughts and feelings. It was a moment of peace and reflection.Â
âI donât want this to end,â Spencer said softly, voicing the thought that had been on his mind all night.
âIt doesnât have to,â Y/N replied, lifting her head to look at him.
Their eyes met, and in that moment, everything felt right. The past, the present, and the future all seemed to converge, leading them to this point where anything was possible.
Spencer leaned in, closing the distance between them, and kissed her gently, the touch a promise of what lay ahead. Y/N kissed him back, feeling the warmth and love that had been building between them, finally finding its place in the world they were creating together.
The kiss deepened as Spencerâs hands cupped Y/Nâs face, his thumbs gently stroking her cheeks. The tender touch sent shivers down her spine, and she leaned into him, savoring the spark that felt both electric and comforting. Spencerâs fingers slowly tangled in her hair, pulling her even closer as he let himself get lost in the moment.
Y/Nâs hands found their way to Spencerâs chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart beneath his shirt. She marveled at the strength and tenderness in him, the way he seemed to know exactly what she needed. As if sensing her thoughts, Spencer pulled back slightly, gazing into her eyes with intensity and affection.
âYouâre incredible,â he whispered, his voice a soft murmur that wrapped around her like a warm embrace.
Y/N smiled, her heart swelling with affection and desire. âYouâre not so bad yourself,â she teased, her fingers tracing patterns on his chest.
With a playful glint in his eye, Spencer leaned in again, capturing her lips in a kiss that was anything but gentle this time. It was a kiss filled with passion and urgency, a reflection of the emotions that had been simmering between them for so long.
Spencerâs hands moved to her waist, pulling her onto his lap as he deepened the kiss. Y/N could feel the heat radiating from his growing erection, a fire that matched her own. The world around them faded away, leaving only the two of them and the affinity they shared.
âAre you okay with this?â Spencer asked softly, pulling back just enough to search her eyes for any sign of hesitation.
Y/N nodded, her breath hitching as she felt his hands trail up her sides. âMore than okay,â she assured him, leaning in to press a kiss to the corner of his mouth.
Spencer smiled, his eyes darkening with desire. He took her hand and guided it to the buttons of his shirt, silently inviting her to take the next step. Y/Nâs fingers worked quickly, undoing each button with anticipation and eagerness.
As she pushed the fabric aside, revealing the toned muscles beneath, she couldnât help but marvel at the sight before her. Spencer was beautiful, a perfect blend of strength and vulnerability, and she felt a surge of emotion at the thought of being here with him.
Spencer seemed to read her thoughts, and he reached for the zipper of her dress, his touch both gentle and confident. The sound of the zipper filled the room, a quiet yet thrilling reminder of the moment they were sharing.
But as the fabric loosened around her shoulders, Y/N felt a sudden rush of emotions and pulled back slightly, placing her hand gently on Spencerâs chest. âWait,â she said softly.
Spencer immediately froze, concern flashing across his face. âWhatâs wrong?â he asked, searching her eyes for any sign of discomfort.
Y/N took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the moment. âThis is a lot,â she admitted, her voice trembling slightly. The emotions swirling inside her were intense; desire, fear, and longing.
Spencer swore he could feel his heart break, the words echoing painfully in his mind. Y/N had said very similar words to him four years ago before she left, and he couldnât help but fear that history might repeat itself.
âOkay, let's slow down,â Spencer said gently, his voice calm and reassuring as he moved his hand away from her dress. He wanted to give her space and reassurance, making sure she felt comfortable and safe.
Y/N looked up at him, relief flooding through her as she saw the understanding and care in his eyes. âI justâIâve wanted you for so long, and Iâm a little overwhelmed,â she confessed, her cheeks flushing with vulnerability. âWe have time. Can we take baby steps?â
âOf course, babe,â Spencer replied, a soft smile playing on his lips as he cupped her cheek, his thumb gently stroking her skin.
Babe. Babe. Babe. Y/N's mind spun as she replayed the word, feeling a thrill run through her. Spencer called her babe. It was a simple term of endearment, but it carried a weight of affection and intimacy that made her heart skip a beat.
âYou called me babe,â she said, her voice filled with surprise and delight.
Spencer chuckled softly, his eyes filled with warmth and affection. âI did,â he said, a playful glint in his eyes as he leaned in to press a gentle kiss to her forehead. âIs that okay?â
Y/N nodded, her heart swelling with emotion. âItâs very okay,â she replied, her smile growing as she wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer.
âYouâre still hard,â Y/N observed, her voice holding amusement and curiosity as she glanced down at the noticeable tension between them.
âIâm violently aware of that fact,â Spencer replied, a hint of exasperation coloring his tone as he tried to maintain some semblance of control.
Y/N smirked, clearly enjoying his predicament. âWhat do you want to do about that?â
Spencer took a deep breath, his mind racing with possibilities. âFirst, youâre wonderful,â he said, his voice laced with affection, âbut Iâm going to need you to get off of me.â
âWhy?â Y/N asked, feigning innocence as she shifted slightly, her movements deliberate and teasing.
âDonât tease me right now, itâs not nice,â Spencer warned, though there was a playful glint in his eyes.
âBut I like teasing you,â Y/N countered, her smile widening as she reveled in the effect she had on him.
Spencer arched an eyebrow, a mischievous smile playing on his lips. âYou wonât always be in charge, Y/N,â he said, his voice dropping to a lower, more suggestive tone.
âAre you saying I am right now?â she challenged, her tone playful and confident.
âIâm not dignifying that with an answer,â Spencer replied, trying to sound stern but failing as his own amusement crept into his voice.
Y/N laughed softly, clearly enjoying the banter between them. But her playful teasing took a more daring turn as she leaned in closer, her breath ghosting over his skin.
âWhat if I did this?â Y/N whispered, grinding her hips down on Spencerâs erection, a bold move that sent a jolt of electricity through him.
Spencerâs breath hitched, his mind momentarily blank as a wave of heat washed over him. He couldnât help but let out a low groan, the sensation both thrilling and maddening.
âY/N,â he managed to say, his voice a mixture of warning and desire as he fought to keep his composure.
She leaned back slightly, looking down at him with a satisfied smile. âYes, Spencer?â she asked, her voice sweetly innocent despite her bold actions.
Spencer chuckled, shaking his head in disbelief at the situation. âYouâre going to be the death of me,â he said, his tone both admiring and amused.
âWell, at least youâll go out with a smile,â Y/N quipped, clearly enjoying the effect she had on him.
Spencer reached up, his hands settling on her hips as he tried to regain some measure of control. âYouâre impossible,â he said, though there was no mistaking the affection in his voice.
âAnd you love it,â Y/N replied, leaning down to press a soft kiss to his lips, the warmth between them undeniable.
âUnfortunate, but true,â Spencer admitted, feeling both amused and enchanted by her boldness.
âSo you want to be in charge?â Y/N asked, her voice taking on a sultry edge as she looked at him with playful eyes.
Spencer narrowed his eyes slightly, trying to figure out where she was going with this. âWhat are you getting at?â he asked, curiosity piquing his interest.
Y/N met his gaze steadily, her confidence shining through. âYou can use me, baby,â she said, her words dripping with seduction and sincerity.
Spencerâs eyes widened in surprise. âWhat??â he said, his brain struggling to process the implications of her offer.
Y/N smiled softly, her fingers gently guiding his hands to her hips. âTake my hips,â she instructed, her voice low and inviting. âAnd use me to get off.â
The room seemed to fall silent, the weight of her words hanging in the air between them. Spencer's heart raced, excitement and awe washing over him. It was an invitation he hadn't expected but one that spoke volumes about the trust and desire between them.
Spencer hesitated for a moment, his mind racing with thoughts and emotions. He looked into her eyes, searching for any sign of uncertainty, but all he saw was warmth and encouragement.
âAre you sure?â Spencer asked, his voice tinged with concern and longing.
Y/N nodded, her expression sincere and reassuring. âIâm sure,â she said, her hands covering his as she leaned in, brushing her lips against his in a gentle, reassuring kiss.
Spencer exhaled slowly, feeling the tension in his body shift from uncertainty to anticipation. His fingers tightened around her hips, the soft fabric of her dress under his touch a reminder of the reality of the moment.
âOkay,â Spencer said, his voice steady as he accepted her invitation, allowing himself to embrace the desire that had been building between them.
With newfound confidence, Spencer shifted slightly, guiding her movements with his hands. The sensation of her warmth and softness against him was intoxicating, a heady rush of pleasure and emotion that made his heart race.
Y/N moved with him, her body responding to his touch in a way that felt natural and right. The air between them was electric, charged with the promise of what they were exploring together.
Spencerâs breath hitched, his heart pounding as he felt the electricity between them deepen with every movement and shared breath. It was a dance of trust and intimacy, one that they had unconsciously choreographed together over time. Each subtle shift of her hips and every soft gasp that escaped her lips was a reminder of the potent chemistry they shared, a chemistry that had been simmering beneath the surface for far too long.
Y/Nâs body moved against his with an urgency that mirrored his own, her touch igniting a fire that spread through him like a blaze. Spencer realized just how much he had missed thisâmissed her. The way she seemed to know exactly how to touch him, how to bring him to the edge of reason, was something he had never found even in himself. It was as if she had a map to every sensitive spot, every place that could make him unravel.
The air between them was thick with tension, every whisper and caress speaking volumes of the unspoken desires that had lingered between them. Spencerâs hands traveled along Y/Nâs body, his fingers tracing the curves of her hips and pulling her closer, feeling the heat radiating off her skin.
Their breathing became ragged, the room filled with the sounds of their shared experienceâthe low hum of desire, the soft moans of pleasure, the occasional whispered word that sent shivers down each otherâs spines. The intensity of the moment built like a crescendo, each wave of sensation more overwhelming than the last.
âFuck, Y/N,â Spencer groaned, his voice hoarse with a mixture of pleasure and disbelief. He bucked his hips up instinctively, the friction almost too much to bear as he felt her move against him, her warmth enveloping him.
He tightened his grip on her hips, guiding her movements, feeling the tension coil tightly within him. His breath caught in his throat as he neared the brink, his mind a haze of sensation and longing.
Y/N responded to his every movement, her body attuned to his in a way that felt almost instinctual. She leaned forward, her breath ghosting over his ear as she whispered something that made his skin tingle, her words a promise and a challenge all at once.
âShow me how much youâve missed me.â
In that moment, Spencer surrendered to the intensity, pulling her down to meet him as he let go, the release hitting him with an unexpected force that left him breathless. His body trembled with the aftermath, the world narrowing down to the exquisite sensation and the woman in his arms.
As the waves of pleasure subsided, Spencer lay there panting, his heart racing, feeling both vulnerable and exhilarated. Y/N remained close, her fingers tracing soothing patterns on his skin as she pressed gentle kisses to his face, grounding him in the moment.
Spencer sat there for a moment, panting heavily, his eyes closed as he tried to regain his composure. Embarrassment and satisfaction coursed through him with each breath.
âYou okay?â she whispered, her voice tender and soothing as she pulled back slightly to look into his eyes.
Spencer opened his eyes, meeting her gaze with a look of gratitude and affection. âYeah,â he breathed, a hint of a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. âIâm okay.â
She chuckled softly, her eyes filled with warmth and understanding. âGood,â she replied, continuing to stroke his hair with gentle, soothing motions.
The room was quiet now, the echoes of their shared moment fading into the background as they simply enjoyed being together.
âIâm sorry,â Spencer said suddenly, a touch of sheepishness coloring his tone. âI didnât mean to, you know...â
âDonât be,â Y/N interrupted, her smile reassuring. âI wanted this. I wanted to be here with you.â
Her words eased the lingering tension in Spencerâs chest, and he nodded, feeling a deep sense of relief.
âYouâre amazing,â he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper as he pulled her closer, wrapping his arms around her in a gentle embrace.
They stayed like that for a while, wrapped in each otherâs arms, the world outside their little cocoon feeling distant and irrelevant. Spencer felt a profound sense of contentment, knowing that whatever came next, they would face it together, hand in hand, heart to heart.
Y/N sighed contentedly, resting her head on his shoulder. âI really don't want to ruin this sweet moment,â she murmured, her voice filled with both affection and mischief.
âOh God,â Spencer groaned, a teasing glint in his eyes as he prepared for whatever quip was about to come his way.
âYou don't even know what I'm going to say,â Y/N protested, feigning indignation.
âItâs almost never good,â Spencer replied with a smirk, clearly enjoying the playful banter between them.
âIgnoring that,â Y/N brushed him off with a wave of her hand. âAnyway, we should change.â
âOh⊠yeah, hah,â Spencer agreed, suddenly remembering the very real situation they were in.
âLike now, preferably,â she continued, trying to sound serious but unable to keep the laughter from her voice. âThereâs jizz in my underwear. How much did you come?â
Spencer let out a groan of embarrassment, covering his face with his hands. âI hate you more than anyone Iâve ever known,â he muttered, though his tone was light and playful.
Y/N laughed, the sound bubbling up and filling the room with a sense of joy and comfort. She pulled back slightly, giving him a teasing look. âItâs not my fault youâre an overachiever, Doctor Reid,â she teased, playfully poking his side.
Spencer chuckled, dropping his hands and meeting her gaze with a fond smile. âIâm just thorough,â he replied, playing along with her teasing.
âClearly,â Y/N said with a grin, leaning in to give him a quick peck on the lips before reluctantly getting up from the couch.
They both stood up, sharing a glance that was a mixture of amusement and affection.
âLetâs get changed before we traumatize your couch any further,â Y/N suggested, shaking her head with a mock-serious expression.
âGood plan,â Spencer agreed, reaching for her hand and giving it a gentle squeeze.
They headed toward the bedroom, the sense of closeness and companionship between them stronger than ever.
â
The next morning, it was Spencer who woke up alone this time. Sunlight streamed through the curtains, casting a warm glow across the room. He blinked awake, momentarily disoriented before remembering the events of the night before. A smile tugged at his lips as he replayed the images of Y/N writhing in his lap, her warmth and presence still lingering in his senses.
He heard the shower running, a soft melody of water against tiles, and felt a thrill of excitement rather than the usual pang of morning urgency. Unlike at the wedding, this time he was delighted to know Y/N was showering in his apartment, sharing his space, and he didnât even feel irrationally sex-hungry. Perhaps it was due to the satisfying first orgasm he had technically experienced with the help of another human beingâthe woman who had completely entranced him.
As he lay there, reliving the vivid memories of their shared moments, the sound of the shower stopped, and he imagined Y/N stepping out, droplets of water clinging to her skin, a vision of beauty and mischief.
And Y/N did have a twinkle of mischief in her eyes as she turned toward the bedroom, a plan already cooking in her head that Spencer should have smelled from a mile away. Her playful nature was something he had grown to love, even when it caught him off guard.
âHey, Spence?â she called out, her voice echoing slightly from the bathroom.
âYeah, babe?â Spencer replied casually, the endearment rolling off his tongue naturally. Babeâhe liked the way it felt, like a secret only they shared.
âI forgot my towel,â she announced, the words heavy with intention and familiarity. A wicked sense of dĂ©jĂ vu washed over Spencer, recalling a similar situation back at the wedding.Â
"That's okay, there's extra inâ" Spencer's words were choked off into an incredulous cough as the bathroom door swung wide open.
Standing before him was an extremely nude Y/N, every inch of her skin glistening with droplets of water, her hair damp and cascading around her shoulders. She stood confidently in all her glory, a vision of boldness and allure that made Spencer's heart skip a beat.
His eyes widened, and for a moment, he was rendered speechless, his brain struggling to process the breathtaking sight before him. A flush crept up his neck as he took in the scene, his pulse quickening at the sheer audacity and beauty of the woman he had fallen for.
Y/N flashed him a cheeky grin, thoroughly enjoying the effect she had on him. âYou were saying?â she teased, her voice light and playful as she sauntered toward him.
Spencer swallowed hard, finally finding his voice amidst the delightful chaos she had unleashed within him. âI, uhââ he stammered, trying and failing to keep his eyes from wandering.
âCat got your tongue, Doctor Reid?â Y/N teased, stopping just short of the bed, her gaze playful and inviting.
Spencer cleared his throat, his mind racing as he tried to regain some semblance of composure. âItâs like youâre testing the strength of my heart,â he managed to say, his voice a strain of amusement and awe.
âI suppose I am,â Y/N replied, pretending to ponder the situation as she placed a hand on her hip, striking a pose that was both teasing and tantalizing.
Spencerâs eyes sparkled with humor and appreciation. He reached out, grabbing the corner of the sheet to offer it to her, but Y/N shook her head, stepping closer instead.
âI think Iâm fine without it,â she said, her voice dropping to a sultry whisper as she leaned over him, her lips brushing against his ear. âUnless you mind, of course.â
Spencer chuckled, a blend of amusement and admiration coloring his voice. âNot at all,â he murmured, reaching out to grab Y/N by the hips, his fingers eager to pull her close again.
But before he could, Y/N stepped back quickly, a playful glint in her eye. âDoctor, I need a towel, not your hands! I just got clean.â
Spencer raised an eyebrow, both surprised and entertained by her unexpected retreat. âY/N, you just walked out naked. Youâre standing in front of me naked.â
âAnd I expect you, as a gracious host, to help me cover my modesty and find a towel,â she replied, her tone mockingly prim as she crossed her arms, making no move to cover herself any further.
âYouâre really going to cover up?â Spencer asked, skepticism laced with humor as he watched her. The entire scene felt like a cat-and-mouse game, one he was more than willing to play.
âDuh,â Y/N said, her lips curving into a teasing smile that told him she was enjoying every second of his reaction.
Spencer shook his head, his eyes narrowing playfully. âYou walked out here, completely nude, just to tease me?â
âAn astute observation, Doctor,â Y/N replied, nodding in mock approval. Her eyes sparkled with mischief, delighting in the effect she had on him.
Spencer couldn't help but laugh, the sound deep and genuine. Her antics were just as endearing as they were infuriating, and he found himself utterly captivated by the playful energy she brought into his life.
âYouâre something else, you know that?â Spencer said, rising from the bed and grabbing a towel from a nearby chair. He tossed it over to her, shaking his head in disbelief at her cheekiness.
Y/N caught the towel, draping it loosely around her shoulders with a victorious grin. âI aim to keep you on your toes, Spence.â
âWell, youâve succeeded,â Spencer replied, his eyes filled with warmth and a hint of challenge. âBut donât think Iâll forget this. Iâll get you back when you least expect it.â
âIâll be waiting,â Y/N said, her voice holding anticipation and defiance as she turned to head back toward the bathroom, the towel trailing behind her like a cape.
Spencer watched her go, a smile playing on his lips. He loved this side of herâthe confident, teasing side that could drive him to the brink of madness with a single look.
As she disappeared around the corner, Spencer settled back onto the bed, his mind already racing with thoughts of how he might turn the tables next time. He knew that with Y/N, every moment was an adventure, one that promised both laughter and love in equal measure.
â
Breakfast was eaten between syrupy kisses and crossword puzzles, everything Spencer had ever wanted. The kitchen was filled with the warm aroma of pancakes and freshly brewed coffee, a cozy backdrop for their intimate morning routine.
Y/N sat across from Spencer at the small kitchen table, her hair still slightly damp from her shower, a playful smile on her lips as she scribbled answers into the crossword puzzle book they shared. Every now and then, she would lean over to plant a sweet, sticky kiss on Spencerâs cheek, leaving behind a faint trace of maple syrup that made him smile.
âThis oneâs tricky,â Y/N murmured, tapping the pencil against her chin as she pondered a clue. âSix-letter word for âmysteriousâ?â
Spencer glanced over, his eyes sparkling with affection. âEnigma,â he suggested, his voice soft and soothing. âThough Iâm sure you already knew that.â
Y/N chuckled, scribbling the word into the grid. âYou make it sound so easy, Doctor Reid.â
Spencer shrugged, a modest grin playing on his lips. âCrossword puzzles are my specialty. Along with word jumbles, logic puzzles, and, apparently, pancakes.â
âMm, and you excel at all of them,â Y/N teased, reaching for another kiss, the gesture sweet and unhurried.
The morning light streamed through the window, casting a golden hue over the room and making the moment feel even more special. It was one of those rare, perfect mornings where everything seemed to alignâa moment of peace and contentment that Spencer cherished deeply.
As they continued to work through the crossword together, their laughter echoed softly, mingling with the clink of cutlery and the rustle of crossword pages. Spencer marveled at how effortlessly they fit together, how natural it felt to share these simple pleasures with someone who understood him so completely.
With each kiss and every playful word exchanged, Spencer felt the bond between them grow stronger, solidifying the foundation of their relationship. It was in these quiet, everyday moments that he realized just how much Y/N meant to him, how much he wanted thisâwanted her in his life, now and always.
âReady for another clue?â Y/N asked, pulling him back to the present with a gentle nudge.
âAlways,â Spencer replied, his eyes meeting hers with adoration and excitement. âWhatâve you got?â
âFive-letter word for âhome,ââ she said, her gaze softening as she looked at him, her meaning clear.
Spencer paused, feeling a warmth spread through his chest. He knew the answer immediately, a word that perfectly encapsulated everything they were building together. âVegas,â he answered, the word carrying a weight of love and nostalgia.
Y/N nodded, a smile spreading across her face as she wrote it down, her heart full. âI like that answer. But youâre wrong.â
They exchanged another kiss, this one lingering and full of promise, the crossword forgotten for the moment as they lost themselves in each other.
â
Spencer Reid was a lot of things: a genius, an awkward yet endearing conversationalist, a talented magician, a loyal friend, and a speed reader. But one thing he was not was sexually experienced. Despite this, he wasn't going to let that minor detail stop him from getting payback on Y/N during her stay. The morning she teased him had been a wake-up call of sorts, and he found himself eagerly anticipating a way to surprise her in return.
They hadnât gone past kissing and last night when Spencer had come in his pants. He was perfectly fine waiting; they didnât ever have to go further. He just loved being with her. He loved her. But that was beside the point right now. The point was payback.
When Y/N mentioned wanting to visit a thrift shop she had read about online, Spencer seized the opportunity to do some research of his own. He found himself diving into a realm he had yet to explore: the art of sensual teasing.
Specifically, Spencer found himself gravitating towards articles and forums on how to tame your bratâa playful concept he found oddly fitting given Y/N's penchant for teasing him. He learned about the subtle balance of power and playfulness and how to channel his own awkward charm into something more confident and commanding.
With the new information burned into his eidetic memory, Spencer was rather excited for Y/N's return. The anticipation thrummed through him, nervousness and excitement in his veins as he rehearsed his plan in his mind. He wanted to surprise her, to take back some of the playful control she had over him, and show her a side of himself that was both new and thrilling.
When Y/N walked through the door, she noticed Spencer wasn't in immediate view. "Spence?" she called out, her voice laced with curiosity.
"In here," he yelled back, a little breathlessly.
Y/N followed the sound of his voice into the bedroom, and what she saw made her stop in her tracks. Spencer was lying on the bed, shirtless and clad only in his briefs, his hand teasingly palming his cock, clearly getting himself worked up.
"Whâwhat are you doing?" she stammered, her eyes widening at the unexpected sight before her.
"Sit down," Spencer instructed, nodding toward the chair in the corner of the room.
Y/N felt a rush of excitement mixed with nervousness as she followed his instructions, taking a seat with wide eyes, unable to look away from the scene unfolding before her.
"...Spence?" she ventured cautiously, unsure of what to expect.
"You have done nothing but tease and taunt me," Spencer began, his voice low and steady, laced with an edge of playful bravery. "I told you I'd get you back."
Her mind raced, anticipation and trepidation swirling within her. âIâm sorry, baby, I didnât mean to upset you,â she offered, trying to gauge his intentions.
âOh, Iâm not upset,â Spencer chuckled darkly, his eyes filled with a promise of what was to come. âYou might be after this.â
Y/N felt a delicious tingle run down her spine at his words, realizing that the tables had turned in a way she hadnât anticipated.
Spencer pushed his briefs down, feeling the cool air against his skin as he continued to touch himself. His movements were slow and deliberate, his hand gliding over his length, each stroke building tension within him. He maintained eye contact with Y/N, his eyes dark with desire and intent.
âWatch me,â he commanded softly, his voice a blend of seduction and challenge. The words were an invitation and a demand, meant to draw her in and show her the effect she had on him. He wanted her to witness every moment, every sensation, the pleasure he derived from taking control.
Y/N swallowed hard, her mouth dry with anticipation. She sat on the chair, completely captivated by the sight before her. Spencer, usually so reserved and thoughtful, was now fully in command, his confidence tangible and alluring. She couldnât tear her eyes away, drawn to the way he moved, the way he seemed to revel in the moment.
As Spencerâs hand moved with increasing intensity, his breathing grew heavier. Each stroke was a testament to the electric tension between them, the room filled with the soft sounds of his pleasure. He was keenly aware of the effect he was having on her, the way her eyes followed his every move, and it fueled him, driving him closer to the edge.
âYouâre enjoying this, arenât you?â Spencer asked, a teasing glint in his eye as he observed her reaction. His voice was low and husky, laced with both challenge and triumph.
Y/N nodded, unable to find her voice as she watched him. Her heart raced, a blend of arousal and admiration coursing through her. She was seeing a side of Spencer that was both familiar and entirely newâa side that was thrilling in its unexpected intensity.
Spencerâs pace quickened, his hand moving faster, his breaths coming in ragged gasps. He let out a soft moan, the sound sending a shiver of excitement through Y/N. She shifted slightly in her seat, feeling the heat of her own desire, knowing that this moment was for her as much as it was for him.
With a final, shuddering gasp, Spencer reached his climax. His body trembled as he gave in to the release, the waves of pleasure washing over him with unexpected force. His release reached up his chest, getting mixed in the trail of hair leading down from his navel.
He lay there for a moment, his chest rising and falling as he caught his breath, the room filled with a charged silence that seemed to echo the intensity of the experience they had just shared.
Y/N watched him with wide eyes, her heart pounding, feeling the heat of the moment settle between them. She couldnât help but be impressed by his unexpected confidence and the way he had managed to turn the tables so effectively.
Spencer finally sat up, a satisfied smile playing on his lips as he met her gaze. âHow was that for payback?â he asked, a playful lilt to his voice, his eyes twinkling with mischief and affection.
Y/N let out a breath she didnât realize she had been holding, a smile breaking across her face. âIâd say you win,â she replied, her voice tinged with amusement and admiration.
Spencer chuckled, feeling a swell of pride at her words. He had surprised himself with his ability to take control and turn the tables, and her reaction was everything he had hoped for.
"I'm glad you think so," Spencer said, his tone playful yet filled with genuine affection. He leaned back against the headboard, his eyes still fixed on Y/N, who remained seated in the chair, a slight flush coloring her cheeks.
âYou really got me,â she admitted, shaking her head in disbelief at the unexpected turn of events. âI didnât think you had it in you, Doctor Reid.â
Spencer grinned, relishing the moment. âI told you Iâd get you back for this morning,â he said, referencing her earlier teasing with a knowing glance. âConsider us even.â
Y/N stood up from the chair and made her way over to the bed, sitting beside him. She reached out and traced a finger along his arm, feeling the warmth of his skin beneath her touch. âI have to admit, itâs kind of hot seeing you like this,â she said, her voice dropping to a whisper.
Spencerâs heart raced at her words. He reached up and gently cupped her face, drawing her closer until their foreheads touched. âIâm glad,â he murmured, his voice soft and sincere.
They stayed like that for a moment, savoring the intimacy and the sense of closeness that had blossomed between them. It was a nod to their journey, a reminder of how far they had come and the exciting possibilities that lay ahead.
Finally, Y/N broke the silence, her eyes sparkling with mischief. âSo, whatâs next on your agenda, Dr. Reid?â
Spencer laughed, feeling a surge of happiness at her playful question. âWell, I think weâve earned a little break,â he suggested, his tone light-hearted. âMaybe some dessert?â
âHow about a shower?â Y/N countered, raising an eyebrow with a teasing smile.
âYeah, thatâs probably for the best,â Spencer agreed, glancing down at himself. âIâm sorry I made such a mess.â
âAre you kidding?â Y/N replied, leaning in to punctuate her words with kisses. âDr. Reid, it wasââ kiss âsoââ kiss âfuckingââ kiss âsexy.â
Spencer laughed, his heart swelling with affection and desire. He pulled her closer, kissing her swiftly, his lips capturing hers with a sense of urgency. âOkay, okay. Iâll go shower,â he said, trying to play it cool but failing to hide his growing excitement.
âNot without me,â Y/N whispered, her voice a sultry promise that sent a shiver down Spencerâs spine.
Her words lingered in the air, charged with anticipation. Spencer hesitated for a moment, the idea of showering together both thrilling and nerve-wracking. But the look in Y/N's eyesâfilled with warmth and an unmistakable invitationâwashed away any doubts he had.
âAlright,â Spencer said, a hint of mischief in his voice as he stood up, pulling her with him. âLead the way.â
Y/N giggled, taking his hand and guiding him toward the bathroom. The space was small but intimate, creating a soft haze that enveloped them both.
As Y/N began to strip off her clothes, Spencer moved to help her, his fingers gently brushing against her skin as her clothes fell from her body. Throughout the entire process, he maintained eye contact with her, his gaze steady and filled with an electrifying combination of tenderness and desire.
The intensity of their bond was unmistakable, as if the world around them had faded away, leaving only the two of them in their own private bubble. Spencer marveled at the trust Y/N placed in him, feeling a deep sense of gratitude and admiration for the woman standing before him.
Once she was undressed, Spencer took her hand, leading her to the shower. As they stepped inside, Y/N turned on the water, adjusting the temperature until it was just right. The warm spray cascaded down, creating a comforting cocoon around them.
Spencer watched her, his heart pounding with excitement and anticipation. He had never done anything like this beforeâthis level of intimacy was new territoryâbut the thought of being so close to her, of sharing this experience, was exhilarating.
It was a moment of discovery, a chance to explore the depths of their relationship in a way that went beyond words. The water enveloped them, washing away any lingering doubts or fears, leaving only the promise of what they could build together.
The water cascaded down in a soothing rhythm, and Y/N turned to him, her eyes sparkling with a playful challenge. âCan I wash you, Doctor?â
Spencer nodded, feeling a rush of adrenaline as he stepped under the warm spray with her. The water was a comforting embrace that seemed to wash away any lingering tension or apprehension.
Y/N reached for the soap, lathering it between her hands before gently running them over Spencerâs chest, her touch tender and intimate. Spencer shivered, the sensation of her hands on his skin sending waves of pleasure through him.
He mirrored her actions, his fingers gliding over her shoulders and down her back, marveling at the softness of her skin and the closeness they shared. It was a new kind of intimacy, one that felt both thrilling and natural, as if they were meant to be this way.
The steam swirled around them, creating a cocoon of warmth and privacy, the outside world fading into the background. In this moment, it was just themâtwo people exploring a newfound closeness.
Y/N tilted her head back, letting the water cascade over her face, her laughter echoing softly in the confined space. Spencer watched her, entranced by the way she seemed to glow with happiness, her joy infectious and intoxicating.
âYou okay?â Y/N asked, glancing at him with a teasing smile, her eyes glimmering with affection.
Spencer shook his head, his eyes reflecting the depth of his feelings. âNo, I need to do something,â he said, his voice producing urgency and sincerity.
âOh, what is it, baby?â she asked, her curiosity piqued as she tried to read his intentions.
âTell me to stop if you need to,â Spencer replied, his tone firm yet reassuring.
Y/N nodded, anticipation building as she trusted him completely, not knowing exactly what to expect but excited by the promise of his words.
Spencer gently turned her so she was facing the wall, guiding her movements with a steady hand until she was in the position he envisioned. Her heart raced as she felt his hands on her skin, the water cascading over them adding a layer of sensuality to the moment.
âSpence?â Y/Nâs voice was soft, a mixture of curiosity and desire as she braced herself with her hands against the cool tile.
âIs this okay?â he asked, a hint of vulnerability in his voice as he knelt down behind her, his breath warm against her skin.
âMhm,â she replied, her voice barely a whisper, the sensation of his presence behind her sending a shiver of anticipation down her spine.
With Y/N's consent, Spencer took a deep breath, grounding himself in the moment. He placed his hands gently on her hips, his touch reverent and full of care. The water continued to pour over them, the rhythmic sound creating a backdrop for the moment they were about to share.
Spencer let his hands glide over her skin, taking his time to explore and savor the feeling. He marveled at the way she trusted him, how she let herself be vulnerable in a way that mirrored his own vulnerability. It was a dance of intimacy and exploration, one that was both thrilling and deeply meaningful.
Y/N let out a soft sigh, her body responding to his touch with an eagerness that surprised even her. She felt the heat of the water mix with the warmth of his hands, the combination creating a heady sensation that left her breathless.
Spencer leaned forward, placing a tender kiss on the small of her back, his lips tracing a path of gentle affection. He wanted her to feel cherished, to know that every action was infused with love and desire. His hands continued to wander, exploring the curves of her body, his touch becoming more assured with each passing moment.
The tension between them built, a substantial energy that crackled in the air. Spencer let his fingers dance along her thighs, the touch light and teasing, coaxing soft gasps from her lips. His fingers found her clit, brushing against it with a feather-light touch that made her shiver with anticipation.
"Is this good?" Spencer asked, his voice a husky whisper, full of hope and longing.
Y/N nodded, her eyes closed as she let herself be carried away by the sensations he was creating. "Itâs perfect," she breathed.
Encouraged by her response, Spencer continued his tender ministrations, his fingers rubbing over her clit with increasing confidence. He relished the way her body reacted to his touch, each soft moan and gasp fueling his desire to please her. Every tremor, every whisper of his name, was a reminder that she was here, Spencer was the one causing her pleasure.
Spencer couldnât wait any longer; he needed to have his mouth on her. His desire had reached a fever pitch, and the thought of tasting her, of bringing her even closer to the edge, was irresistible.
With a firm but gentle hand on Y/Nâs lower back, he urged her to arch further, creating a perfect angle for him to reach her core with his mouth. Her skin was warm under his touch, the water heightening the sensations that danced between them.
Spencer leaned forward, his breath ghosting over her skin before he pressed his lips to her clit. He started with a soft kiss, savoring the anticipation before letting his tongue trace a slow, deliberate path up her lips. The taste of her was intoxicating, a blend of sweetness and desire that left him wanting more.
Y/Nâs response was immediate and electric, her body reacting to the touch with an intensity that matched his own longing. Her fingers curled against the tile wall, seeking purchase as she let out a breathy moan, a sound that resonated deep within Spencer.
He continued to explore with his tongue, alternating between gentle licks and firmer, more purposeful strokes that elicited a symphony of pleasure from her. Her hips instinctively pushed back towards him, her body urging him to continue, to take her higher.
Spencer was more than happy to oblige, his focus unwavering as he lavished attention on her clit, every movement calculated to bring her closer to that exquisite edge. The steam swirled around them, creating an intimate cocoon where nothing existed but the two of them and the ties they were deepening with every touch, every kiss.
Y/Nâs breathing grew ragged, her soft cries filling the bathroom as Spencerâs ministrations drove her closer to climax. She felt the world narrowing to this singular moment, the sensation of his mouth on her, consuming her completely.Â
Spencer, attuned to every shift in her body, could feel her approaching release. He intensified his efforts, his mouth working to push her over the edge.
With a final, fervent stroke of his tongue, Y/N shattered, the wave of her orgasm crashing over her with a force that left her breathless and trembling. Spencer held her steady as she came on his tongue, his hands firm on her hips as he helped her ride out the storm.
As the echoes of her climax faded, they remained entwined under the showerâs warm spray, the link between them even stronger than before. Spencer pressed a gentle kiss to her hip, a silent promise of his devotion and the joy they found in each other.
Finally, he helped her stand upright, wrapping his arms around her in a comforting embrace. They stayed like that for a while, basking in the afterglow in the steamy sanctuary of the shower. The warmth of the water mingled with the warmth of their bodies, creating a cocoon of intimacy that felt both timeless and precious.
Y/N turned in his arms, looking up at him with a mischievous smile playing on her lips. âYou have something on your face, Doctor,â she teased, her eyes sparkling with humor and affection.
Spencer raised an eyebrow, a playful grin tugging at the corners of his mouth. âDo I?â he replied, feigning ignorance as he wiped his face with the back of his hand.
âYes, you do,â Y/N insisted, reaching up to gently swipe at a lingering droplet of water on his cheek. Her touch was light, yet it sent a thrill through Spencer, a reminder of the electric chemistry between them.
He captured her hand in his, pressing a soft kiss to her fingertips. âWell, thank you for pointing that out,â he said, his voice a low murmur as he looked into her eyes, filled with a warmth that spoke volumes of the bond they shared.
Y/N chuckled softly, leaning into him as she savored the comfort and closeness of their embrace. âYouâre welcome,â she said, her voice carrying a note of affection that made his heart swell.
âI love you,â Spencer whispered, the words slipping out naturally, carrying the weight of everything he felt for her. He had never been more certain of anything in his life, and saying it aloud felt both exhilarating and profoundly right.
âI know,â Y/N replied, her smile warm and knowing. She could feel the truth of his words in the way he held her, in the gentle strength of his embrace. Her acknowledgment without fear was enough for Spencer right nowâa silent promise of the love they were building together, day by day.
Spencer held her close, relishing the feeling of having her in his arms. They stood together in the shower, the world outside forgotten, their laughter and the sound of the water the only things that mattered in that moment. It was a perfect bubble of intimacy, a sanctuary where they could be completely themselves.
Eventually, they turned off the water and stepped out, wrapping themselves in towels as they continued to exchange soft words and lingering glances, the connection between them as strong as ever. They moved in a seamless dance of familiarity and affection.
Y/N handed Spencer a towel, her eyes meeting his with a playfulness that belied the deep emotions they had just shared. The air between them was filled with a sense of contentment, as if they had discovered a new layer of their relationship that was both thrilling and comforting.
Spencer took the towel with a grateful smile, gently drying himself off as he watched Y/N do the same. Her movements were graceful and unhurried, and he found himself captivated by the simple beauty of the moment.
â
That night, they lay side by side in bed, Spencer reading aloud to Y/N as requested. His voice, a soothing blend of warmth and familiarity, wrapped around her like a comforting blanket. The soft glow of the bedside lamp cast a warm light over the room, highlighting the serene expressions on their faces.
Spencer was lost in the rhythm of the words, his voice weaving a gentle narrative that lulled Y/N into a state of relaxation. The comfort of the moment, the intimacy of sharing a book, felt perfect.
âBaby?â Y/N interrupted softly, her voice a quiet murmur in the peaceful silence.
âHmm?â Spencer replied, not breaking his reading stride but glancing over at her with a soft smile.
âCan I meet your friends?â she asked, her tone light yet carrying an undercurrent of genuine curiosity.
Spencer paused in his reading, a playful glint in his eyes. âThatâs a tough one,â he said, closing the book and setting it aside, focusing all his attention on her.
âHuh? Why?â Y/N asked, her brow furrowing slightly as she turned to face him.
âWell, how would I introduce you? âHi, this is Y/N. I saw her boobs, but weâre just buddies,ââ Spencer teased, his lips curling into a smirk.
Y/N smiled knowingly, a mischievous twinkle in her eyes. âGet to the point, Ock,â she urged, giving him a gentle nudge with her elbow.
Spencer took a deep breath, feeling the truth of his feelings welling up inside him. The words that had been on the tip of his tongue for so long finally found their way out. âWill you be my girlfriend?â he asked, his voice sincere and full of hope.
Y/N pretended to ponder his question, her smile widening. âDepends,â she said, drawing out the word playfully, her eyes sparkling with affection.
He wasnât even nervous this time. âOh yeah? On what?â he inquired, a playful challenge in his tone as he propped himself up on one elbow to look at her more closely.
âWill you scratch my back before bed?â Y/N replied, her expression shifting to one of playful earnestness as she held his gaze.
Spencer laughed, a sound filled with warmth and happiness. âI think that can be arranged,â he said, reaching over to gently run his fingers down her back, the touch light and affectionate.
Y/N leaned into his touch, feeling the comfort that defined their relationship. âThen yes, Iâd love to be your girlfriend,â she said, her voice full of sincerity and excitement.
Spencerâs heart swelled at her words, at the simple exchange. They lay there for a while, enjoying the quiet comfort of the moment, the room filled with a sense of contentment and love that made everything else fade away.
As they settled in for the night, Spencerâs hand continued its soothing path along her back, a gentle promise of the future. Y/N closed her eyes, feeling a profound sense of peace as she drifted off to sleep, knowing that she was exactly where she was meant to beâwith him.
â
Spencer knew how much Y/N loved wine, and he wanted to recreate a little bit of their Napa Valley trip to make their introduction to his team memorable. After some thought, he decided to ask Rossi, his friend and colleague, if he would host a wine tasting at his elegant estate.
Rossi, always the gracious host and a fellow wine enthusiast, immediately agreed, delighted at the prospect of meeting Y/N. He had been eager to meet the woman who had captured Spencerâs heart, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity.
The evening was set. Rossi promised to prepare a selection of his finest wines and a spread of delicious hors d'oeuvres to complement the tasting. The stage was perfectly set for Y/N to meet Spencerâs friends in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
As they arrived at Rossiâs grand estate, Spencer and Y/N held hands, a subtle but unmistakable sign of their relationship. The sun was setting, casting a golden hue over the vineyard, and the air was filled with the promise of a perfect evening.
Rossi greeted them at the door with his usual charm, extending a warm welcome. âSpencer! Y/N! So glad you could make it,â he said, giving Spencer a shoulder pat before turning to Y/N. âAnd you must be the famous Y/N. Iâve heard so much about you.â
Y/N smiled, feeling instantly at ease with Rossiâs friendly demeanor. âAll good things, I hope,â she replied with a laugh, squeezing Spencerâs hand for reassurance.
âOf course, all good things,â Rossi assured her, gesturing for them to come inside. âMake yourselves at home. Weâve got a lovely selection for you tonight.â
As they entered the elegantly decorated living room, Y/N marveled at the surroundings. The room was warm and inviting, with soft lighting and a roaring fireplace, creating a cozy ambiance. Several bottles of wine were artfully arranged on a table, each accompanied by a description card and a plate of carefully paired appetizers.
The rest of the team was already there, mingling and chatting, their laughter filling the room. Spencer introduced Y/N to each of them, his pride evident in the way he spoke about her.
âY/N, you remember Derek Morgan,â Spencer said, introducing her to the man who had become one of his closest friends.
Derek grinned, offering a firm handshake. âNice to officially meet you, Y/N. Spencer talks about you all the time.â
Y/N returned the handshake, her nerves dissipating with each friendly face she encountered. âNice to see you again, Derek,â she replied warmly. âSpencer probably talks about you more.â
âAnd this is Penelope Garcia,â Spencer continued, leading Y/N to the vibrant and colorful tech analyst.
Penelope enveloped Y/N in a warm hug, her enthusiasm infectious. âIâm so happy to meet you! Anyone who makes Spencer this happy is a friend of mine,â she declared with a wink.
Y/N laughed, charmed by Penelopeâs vivacious personality. âItâs great to meet you too, Penelope. I love your energy!â
Spencer then introduced her to Emily Prentiss, JJ, and Aaron Hotchner, each of them welcoming her with genuine smiles and friendly conversation. It was clear that Spencerâs colleagues were more than just coworkersâthey were like family, and they were eager to include Y/N in their circle.
Once everyone had settled, Rossi took the lead, introducing each wine with the flair of a seasoned connoisseur. He explained the origins of each bottle, the notes and flavors they could expect, and the perfect pairings he had selected.
The group moved through the tasting, savoring each wine and the lively conversation that accompanied it. Y/N found herself laughing and sharing stories, feeling completely at ease in their company.
As they reached the end of the tasting, Spencer caught Y/Nâs eye, giving her a soft smile that conveyed his happiness and pride. She smiled back, feeling grateful for the warmth and acceptance she had received from his friends.
Rossi raised his glass, capturing everyoneâs attention. âTo new friends and old friends,â he began, his voice resonating with sincerity. âAnd to Y/N, for making our Spencer so incredibly happy. Welcome to the family.â
Everyone echoed the toast, glasses clinking as they celebrated the new addition to their group. Y/N felt a swell of emotion at the genuine welcome, her heart full with the realization that she was not just meeting Spencerâs team, but becoming a part of something biggerâa community that supported each other, much like a family.
As the evening continued, Y/N and Spencer found themselves stealing moments together amidst the laughter and conversation. It was a perfect night.
â
âCan we go for a walk?â Y/N asked, her eyes twinkling with mischief as she looked at Spencer. The wine had left her feeling a little bold and adventurous, and the thought of a late-night stroll seemed like the perfect way to end the evening.
âItâs nearly 12 a.m., Y/N,â Spencer replied, raising an eyebrow at her suggestion. He tried to sound firm, but he knew that tone of hers all too wellâthe one that said she wasnât going to take no for an answer.
âYouâre in the FBI. You can keep us safe,â she insisted, playfully bumping her shoulder against his.
Spencer couldnât help but chuckle at her persistence. âYeah, okay,â he said, a hint of amusement in his voice. âI once had a man tell me I look like a pipe cleaner with eyes.â
Y/N burst into laughter, the sound echoing in the quiet of the night. âThat is so accurate!â she managed to say between giggles, leaning against him for support.
âWeâre not going for a walk,â Spencer declared, crossing his arms in mock defiance.
Y/Nâs laughter subsided, replaced by a stubborn look that he knew all too well. âThen Iâm going alone,â she said, raising her chin in challenge.
âLike hell you are, you nuisance,â Spencer shot back, unable to hide the fondness in his voice. He shook his head, knowing he was already defeated. âAlright, alright. Letâs go for a walk.â
Y/N grinned triumphantly, taking his hand and pulling him toward the door. âYou wonât regret it,â she promised, her excitement palpable.
As they stepped out into the cool night air, Spencer couldnât help but smile at her enthusiasm. Despite his earlier protests, he found himself looking forward to the adventure, the chance to share another moment with her in the quiet, starlit night.
They walked hand in hand, the world around them hushed and serene. The stars twinkled above, a canopy of lights that mirrored the joy and companionship they felt in each other's presence.
Spencer glanced over at Y/N, her face illuminated by the moonlight, and felt a surge of affection for the woman beside him. She had a way of making even the simplest moments feel extraordinary, and he realized he wouldnât trade this walkâor her companyâfor anything.
âSo, where are we headed?â Spencer asked, breaking the comfortable silence that had settled between them.
Y/N shrugged, her eyes sparkling with mischief. âAnywhere. Everywhere. Nowhere in particular,â she replied, swinging their linked hands playfully. âLetâs just see where the night takes us.â
Spencer chuckled, nodding in agreement as they continued their impromptu adventure. âLead the way, troublemaker.â
They walked for a bit in silence, just enjoying each other's company. The night was cool, the gentle breeze carrying the distant hum of the city, a perfect backdrop for their midnight stroll. The moon cast a silvery glow on the path ahead, and their footsteps echoed softly in the stillness.
âYouâre pretty bossy,â he teased, breaking the silence with a playful nudge. âIs this what itâs always going to be like when weâre married?â
The words slipped out before he could catch them, hanging in the air between them with a weight he hadnât anticipated.
Y/N laughed, not even realizing the massive step sheâd just taken with her response. âYeah, probably,â she said, the words rolling off her tongue as if they were the most natural thing in the world.
Spencer felt his heart skip a beat, the casual ease of her reply settling warmly in his chest. Her laughter was infectious, and he couldnât help but join in, the sound of their shared amusement echoing softly in the night.
âGood to know,â Spencer replied, trying to keep his tone light, even as the implications of their exchange sank in.
Y/N turned to look at him, her eyes shining with humor and something deeperâsomething that spoke of the future they were daring to imagine together. The thought of it sent a thrill through him, feelings of excitement and wonder at the possibilities that lay ahead.
They continued their walk, the conversation flowing easily as they navigated the quiet streets. Spencer found himself stealing glances at Y/N, marveling at the way she seemed to light up the world around her, her presence a constant source of comfort and happiness.
After a while, they found themselves on a small bridge overlooking a gently flowing river. The water shimmered under the moonlight, reflecting the stars above, and the scene was so picturesque it felt almost surreal.
Y/N leaned against the railing, her gaze drifting over the water as she took in the beauty of the moment. Spencer joined her, standing behind her with his arms caging her in comfortably.
âDo you ever think about the future?â Y/N asked suddenly, her voice soft and thoughtful.
âAll the time,â Spencer admitted, glancing down at her with a smile. âEspecially now.â
She looked at him, curiosity and affection mingling in her expression. âAnd what do you see?â
He considered the question, searching for the right words to convey the depth of his feelings. âI see... a lot of things,â he said finally, his voice sincere. âBut mostly, I see us. Together.â
Y/N smiled, her heart swelling with happiness at his words. âMe too,â she said, reaching for his hand and intertwining their fingers. âI canât imagine it any other way.â
They stood there for a while, wrapped in the serenity of the night and the warmth of each otherâs presence. It was a moment that felt timeless, a promise of the love and adventure they would share in the days to come.
â
Y/N had been with Spencer for a week and a half now, and their time together was almost done. The thought of her leaving weighed heavily on both of them, a heavy presence that seemed to linger in the air.
Their days had been filled with laughter, exploration, and the simple joy of being together. From shared breakfasts to late-night conversations, every moment was bittersweet evidence of their relationshipâa bond that felt as if it had always been there, waiting to be discovered.
But now, as their time drew to a close, a quiet sadness crept in, mingling with the happiness they had shared. They both felt it, an unspoken acknowledgment of the distance that would soon separate them once more.
â
On their last morning together, they sat at the kitchen table, nursing cups of coffee and savoring the tranquility of the moment. The morning light filtered through the window, casting a warm glow over the room, but even the sunshine couldnât chase away the bittersweet feeling that lingered between them.
Y/N looked across the table at Spencer, her heart aching at the thought of saying goodbye. She had grown accustomed to his presence, to the comfort of having him by her side, and the idea of returning to her life in Las Vegas felt strangely daunting.
âDo we have to talk about it?â Spencer asked, his voice soft yet carrying the weight of their impending separation. He looked at her with longing and resignation, as if hoping that by not acknowledging it, they could somehow postpone the inevitable.
Y/N shook her head, offering him a small, understanding smile. âNot yet,â she replied, reaching across the table to take his hand. âLetâs just enjoy today.â
He squeezed her hand, grateful for the reprieve, even if only temporary. âDeal,â he said, his tone light despite the heaviness in his heart.
â
They spent the day exploring the city, visiting the places they loved most. Spencer took her to the Smithsonian, sharing stories about his favorite exhibits with the enthusiasm and wonder that never failed to captivate her. They wandered through the National Gallery of Art, losing themselves in the beauty of the paintings, and then strolled hand in hand along the Potomac River, the gentle breeze carrying with it the memories they were creating.
As the afternoon sun began to dip below the horizon, they found themselves at a small, charming café, the kind that promised warmth and comfort with every sip. They sat outside, sipping coffee and talking about everything and nothing, allowing the moment to wrap around them like a soft embrace.
Y/N watched Spencer as he spoke, the way his eyes lit up when he talked about something he loved, the way his smile seemed to hold the entire world in its warmth. She felt a pang of sadness, knowing that she would miss these moments most of allâthe quiet intimacy, the shared laughter, the sense of belonging that came from simply being with him.
â
That evening, they decided to cook dinner together, wanting to savor every last moment. The kitchen was filled with the comforting sounds of sizzling pans and clinking glasses, their movements synchronized in a dance of familiarity and affection.
As they prepared their meal, they stole kisses and shared soft laughter, the knowledge of their approaching separation hanging over them like a shadow. Yet, they refused to let it dampen their spirits, determined to make the most of the time they had left.
Once dinner was ready, they sat down at the table, candlelight flickering gently between them. The conversation flowed easily, a tapestry of shared memories and hopes for the future, each word a tribute to the connection they had built.
â
After dinner, they moved to the living room, settling on the couch with a sense of quiet contentment. Y/N nestled against Spencer, her head resting on his shoulder as they talked about the past few days and what lay ahead.
âI canât believe itâs almost time for you to go,â Spencer said, his voice tinged with regret. He traced gentle patterns on her arm, finding solace in the simple act of holding her close.
âI know,â Y/N replied, her voice barely above a whisper. âI wish I could stay longer.â
Spencer nodded, understanding the pull of responsibility that awaited her in Las Vegas. âMe too,â he admitted, the words carrying a weight of their own. âBut Iâm grateful for the time weâve had.â
She looked up at him, her eyes filled with love and longing. âWeâll make it work,â she said, preservation in her voice. âWeâve done it before, and weâll do it again.â
Spencer smiled, heartened by her resolve. âYouâre right,â he agreed, his voice steady with conviction. âWe will.â
â
The gentle chime of Y/N's alarm broke the silence of the morning, its sound a stark reminder of the day neither of them wanted to face. Y/N needed to be up early to catch her flight back home, but Spencer refused to let go of her, his arms wrapped tightly around her middle.
Y/N felt the weight of the moment settle heavily in her chest. They were both distraught, the impending separation looming over them like a dark cloud. As she lay there, feeling the warmth of Spencer's embrace, tears began to well in her eyes, spilling over as she realized how deeply her leaving was affecting him.
Spencer, ever attuned to her emotions, noticed the subtle shaking of her body and moved to hover over her, wanting to see her face and offer comfort. His brow furrowed with concern as he brushed away her tears with gentle fingers, his heart aching at the sight of her distress.
Before Spencer could say or ask anything, Y/N found her voice, though it was tinged with the raw emotion she felt. "I love you too," she said, the words escaping in a whisper that carried all the weight of her heart.
In that moment, Spencer's world shifted. The confession was unexpected yet deeply desired, a truth that resonated within him, echoing the love he had been holding for her. Without hesitation, he leaned down and kissed her more passionately than ever before, pouring all his emotions into the tender meeting of their lips.
The kiss was an affirmation, a shared promise of everything they felt for one another. It was filled with longing and relief, the culmination of all the moments they had shared and the dreams they held for the future. The world outside faded away, leaving just the two of them in their bubble of love.
Y/N wrapped her arms around Spencer, pulling him closer, losing herself in the warmth and security of his embrace. It was as if time stood still, and all that mattered was the beating of their hearts, synced in perfect harmony. The room was filled with a charged silence, the air thick with the unspoken promises that hung between them.
Spencer could feel the rapid thud of his own heart, each beat echoing the depth of his emotions. He wanted nothing more than to hold her close, to savor every second they had left before she had to leave. Their breaths mingled, a shared rhythm that they had built over time.
All of their emotions were on display in that moment, vulnerability and desire intertwining in a dance that felt as old as time itself. Y/Nâs fingers traced a gentle path along his back, a silent plea for more, for closeness, for the intimacy they both craved.
She reached down, her hand finding Spencerâs hardening length, the touch both bold and tender. It was a signal, a declaration of what she wanted, what she needed from him in that moment. Spencerâs breath hitched at her touch, his body responding eagerly to the invitation.
With a soft sigh, he nodded in understanding, his eyes dark with passion as he moved to accommodate her silent request. His fingers brushed against her skin, gently pushing down her shorts and underwear, leaving her bare beneath him.
The cool air kissed her exposed skin, but it was Spencerâs touch that ignited the fire within her. Every caress was deliberate, infused with the love and desire that had been simmering between them. His hands roamed her body, exploring every curve with a reverence that left her breathless.
Their lips met in a searing kiss, a collision of longing and devotion that spoke of all the words they couldnât say. It was a kiss that consumed them, leaving no room for doubt or hesitation. Spencerâs hands tangled in her hair, holding her close as if she might slip away at any moment.
Y/N arched into him when he pushed inside of her, her body an unconscious show of the need that had built up over their time together. She wanted to memorize this moment, to etch it into her memory for the days they would spend apart. The feel of his skin against hers, the warmth of his breath on her lips, the way he looked at her as if she were the only thing that mattered in the world.
Spencerâs touch was gentle yet insistent, a perfect balance of tenderness and need. He marveled at the way her body responded to his, every sigh and gasp a symphony that played just for him. He wanted to show her, through touch and whispered words, just how much she meant to him.
As they moved together, the world outside faded into oblivion, leaving only the two of them, entwined in a moment of pure intimacy. Spencerâs hands traced a path of fire across her skin, every touch a promise, every kiss a vow of the love he felt so deeply.
Their connection was electric, a powerful force that drew them ever closer, bridging the distance that would soon separate them. Spencer could feel the emotion welling up inside him, a tidal wave of feeling that threatened to overwhelm him, yet he welcomed it, embraced it.
Y/Nâs hands gripped his shoulders, pulling him impossibly closer, their bodies moving in perfect harmony. She felt the heat of his skin, the strength of his embrace, and knew that this was where she belongedâin his arms, lost in the world they had created together.
With every movement, every shared breath, they told a storyâa story of love and longing, of dreams and promises yet to be fulfilled. It was a story that had begun long before this moment, and one that would continue long after they parted ways.
The crescendo of their shared experience built to a peak, an overwhelming wave of sensation that swept them both away. They surrendered to it, allowing themselves to be carried by the tide of their emotions, losing themselves in the depth of their love.
As the world slowly came back into focus, they lay together, wrapped in each otherâs arms, the link between them stronger than ever. Spencer pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead, his heart full of the love that had bloomed between them.
âI love you,â he whispered, the words a promise of the future they would build together, no matter the distance that lay ahead.
âI love you too,â Y/N replied, her voice soft yet filled with unwavering certainty.
They stayed like that for a while, basking in the afterglow of their shared intimacy, knowing that this was just the beginning of the journey they would embark on together.
â
The goodbyes at the airport were tearful and depressing beyond belief. Spencer and Y/N stood at the gate, holding each other tightly, as if letting go would shatter the fragile world they had built together. Y/N's eyes glistened with unshed tears, her heart heavy with the weight of leaving.
âIâm going to miss you so much,â she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion.
Spencer nodded, swallowing hard against the lump in his throat. âMe too. Call me as soon as you can.â
They pulled back just enough to look at each other, memorizing every detail of their faces before the inevitable separation. Spencer brushed a tear from Y/Nâs cheek, his touch tender and full of longing.
âTake care of yourself,â he said, his voice thick with emotion. âIâll be counting down the days until I see you again.â
Y/N nodded, unable to find words as she fought to keep her composure. With one last lingering kiss, they parted, their fingers reluctantly slipping away from each other as she turned to board her flight.
Spencer watched her go, his heart aching with every step she took away from him. As she disappeared from view, he took a deep breath, holding onto the promise of their future together.
â
Spencer returned home, his heart heavy with the absence of Y/N. As he closed the door behind him, the silence of his apartment enveloped him, a stark contrast to the warmth and laughter that had filled the space just days before.
He dropped his bag by the door, leaning against it for support as the weight of the day settled on his shoulders. For a moment, he stood still, the reality of Y/Nâs departure crashing over him like a wave.
He knew they hadnât broken upâthat their relationship was strong, built on a foundation of love and understanding. Yet, the emptiness left by her absence felt overwhelming, as if a part of him was missing.
Spencer made his way to the living room, each step heavy with the ache of longing. He sank into the couch, burying his face in his hands as emotions he had been holding at bay finally broke free. Tears spilled over, silent and unbidden, tracing a path down his cheeks as he allowed himself to feel the depth of his sorrow.
In that moment, he realized just how lucky he was to have someone who made saying goodbye so hard. Y/N had become such an integral part of his daily routine, bringing a light and joy that he hadnât known he needed until it was gone.
He wiped his tears, taking a deep breath as he tried to steady himself. The pain of parting was proof to the depth of their love, a love that would endure the distance and time apart.
Spencer knew he would see her again, that their paths would cross once more, bound by the ties of affection and the dreams they had yet to fulfill. Until then, he would hold onto the memories they had created, cherishing them as a reminder of everything they shared.
As Spencer got up to take his contacts out, his eyes stinging from the tears that had blurred his vision, he heard a knock at his door. The sound was unexpected, cutting through the quiet of his apartment and jolting him out of his emotional haze.
Confused and uncomfortable with his state, he hesitated. He considered ignoring it in favor of dealing with the immediate discomfort in his eyes. But the knocking persisted, each tap on the door a gentle insistence that demanded his attention.
Sighing, Spencer made his way to the bathroom, quickly removing his contacts and replacing them with his glasses. The relief was immediate, but his curiosity about the late visitor lingered. With his glasses firmly on his nose, he cautiously approached the door, his heart thudding in his chest.
When he finally opened it, the last person he expected to see was standing there, a familiar smile lighting up her face.
âHey, baby,â Y/N said, her voice soft and full of warmth.
Spencerâs heart skipped a beat, disbelief and joy washing over him in equal measure. For a moment, he simply stood there, taking in the sight of her, wondering if he was dreaming.
âY/N?â he finally managed to say, his voice tinged with awe.
She nodded, stepping forward to close the distance between them, her presence a balm to the ache that had settled in his heart. âSurprise,â she said, her smile widening as she wrapped her arms around him in a warm embrace.
Spencerâs arms instinctively encircled her, pulling her close as he let out a breath he hadnât realized heâd been holding. The reality of her being there, in his arms, was almost too much to process. He buried his face in her hair, inhaling the familiar scent that always seemed to calm him.
âHowâŠ?â he began, pulling back slightly to look at her, his eyes searching hers for answers. He couldnât believe she was standing there, right in front of him.
Y/N smiled shyly, her eyes sparkling with excitement and a hint of nervousness. âWell, you see, I never got on the plane,â she confessed, biting her lip as she watched his reaction.
âYou never got on the plane?â Spencer echoed, his mind racing to catch up with the reality unfolding before him.
âNuh uh,â she shook her head, her expression softening. âI called my boss.â
âOkayâŠâ Spencer replied, still processing the unexpected turn of events.
âI quit my job,â she announced, a note of finality in her voice.
âWhat? Why?â Spencer asked, his brow furrowing in confusion. He knew how much she had dedicated to her work.
âI never liked that job anyway,â Y/N admitted, shrugging slightly as if shedding an old skin.
âYou loved that job,â Spencer countered, his voice filled with disbelief.
âYeah, but I can love another job too,â she said, her smile widening as she stepped inside the apartment with her luggage trailing behind, trying to act casual.
âTrue⊠but that doesnât answer my question,â Spencer replied, closing the door and turning to face her, his heart pounding with hope and anticipation.
Y/N paused, taking a deep breath as she gathered her courage. She met his gaze, her eyes filled with sincerity and warmth. âI also called my building manager.â
âYou did?â Spencer asked, his curiosity piqued.
âMhm. Turns out, breaking a lease isnât that expensive when youâre month-to-month,â she said, a playful glint in her eyes.
âYou broke your lease,â Spencer stated, surprise and admiration coloring his tone.
âLook at you keeping up,â Y/N teased, her voice light and teasing.
âY/NâŠâ Spencer began, his voice trailing off as he struggled to find the right words.
âI actually have a question for you,â Y/N said, stepping closer to him, her heart racing with excitement.
âYes?â Spencer replied, his eyes locked on hers, feeling as if he were on the edge of something wonderful.
âHow would you like to have a roommate?â she asked, her tone playful yet earnest. âSheâs a little messy, snores a bit, hates to cook, terrible sense of humor, oh and get this, sheâs unemployed and homeless.â
Spencerâs heart swelled with emotion, understanding dawning on him as a smile spread across his face. âShe sounds like a handful,â he said softly, his voice filled with warmth and affection.
âYou have big hands,â Y/N replied with a playful smirk.
âIâd love to have a roommate⊠under one condition,â Spencer continued.
âWhatâs that?â Y/N asked, raising an eyebrow.
âNightly head scratches,â he replied, grinning.
Y/N grinned, feeling a rush of relief and happiness at his response. âDeal,â she said, closing the distance between them and wrapping her arms around him, feeling the weight of uncertainty lift from her shoulders.
Spencer hugged her tightly, his heart full of gratitude and love for the woman who had chosen to stay. In that moment, everything felt right, as if the pieces of his life had finally fallen into place.
âYouâre really staying?â Spencer whispered, pulling back slightly to look into her eyes, needing to hear her confirm it once more.
âIâm really staying,â Y/N replied, her eyes shining with certainty and joy.
And with that, they both knew that they were embarking on a new chapter together.
â
Spencer found himself standing in Y/Nâs Las Vegas apartment, surrounded by boxes and the faint smell of cardboard and packing tape. It was a chaotic scene, but he was happy to be there, helping Y/N make this big move.
âBillie, this is my boyfriend, Doc Ock,â Y/N introduced with a grin, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
âHi, Iâm Spencer,â he said, extending a hand with a friendly smile.
âI like Doc Ock,â Billie replied, shaking his hand with a smirk.
âSo, thereâs two of you... great,â Spencer said sarcastically, throwing a look at Y/N before playfully rolling his eyes. âIâll be in the U-Haul if you need me.â
âNo, you donât, big guy,â Y/N called after him, laughing. âWe need some muscle.â
Billie chuckled, watching Spencer walk away with a theatrical sigh. They turned to Y/N, who was already diving into the nearest pile of boxes.
âYour boyfriend is quite the character,â Billie noted, lifting a box marked "Kitchen" with ease.
âTell me about it,â Y/N said, shaking her head with a fond smile. âHe keeps life interesting, thatâs for sure.â
Spencer, returning with a box of his own, joined the conversation. âHey, just trying to make sure things donât get too boring around here.â
âOh, donât worry,â Billie replied, flashing a grin. âWith you two, I doubt boredom is ever an issue.â
The trio continued packing, the apartment slowly transforming into a labyrinth of boxes and furniture wrapped in bubble wrap. The atmosphere was filled with a sense of camaraderie and lighthearted banter as they worked together.
Spencer found himself enjoying the easy dynamic between them, appreciating Billieâs quick wit and the comfortable rhythm they had established with Y/N. It felt like being part of a team, and he was grateful for the support and companionship they offered.
As the hours passed, they took a break, sitting on the floor with takeout boxes spread before them. The conversation flowed naturally, shifting from memories of the past to dreams for the future.
âSo, whatâs the plan once you get to Virginia?â Billie asked, curiosity piqued.
Y/N glanced at Spencer, her eyes twinkling with excitement. âWell, weâre going to settle in, explore the area, and just take it one day at a time,â she said, her voice filled with hope and anticipation.
âAnd maybe find a job I actually like,â Y/N added with a laugh, leaning into Spencer's side. âSomething that feels right.â
Spencer nodded, his heart swelling with pride at her tenacity. âI have no doubt youâll find something amazing,â he said, squeezing her hand reassuringly.
âYeah, and in the meantime, youâve got Doc Ock here to keep you entertained,â Billie teased, earning a chuckle from both of them.
As the day drew to a close, the apartment was finally packed up, ready for the move. They stood together, looking at the neatly stacked boxes and feeling a sense of accomplishment and excitement for the new chapter ahead.
âThanks for everything, Billie,â Y/N said, pulling them into a hug. âI couldnât have done this without you.â
âAnytime, roomie,â Billie replied, their tone warm and affectionate. âAnd hey, Spencer, youâre not too bad yourself.â
âThanks, Iâll take that as a compliment,â Spencer replied, smiling at the camaraderie they had built.
With the final box loaded into the U-Haul, they took one last look around the apartment, the memories they had made within its walls etched in their hearts.
âReady?â Spencer asked, taking Y/Nâs hand in his.
âReady,â Y/N affirmed, feeling the thrill of the unknown mingling with the comfort of the familiar.
â
Spencer was filled with excitement and nervousness as he and Y/N drove through the scenic roads of Napa Valley, the picturesque vineyards stretching out on either side. The trip had been planned meticulously, a celebration of their one-year anniversary of dating and a nod to the place where their paths had crossed again five years prior.
âI canât believe weâre back here,â Y/N said, gazing out the window, her eyes alight with nostalgia. âIt feels like yesterday that we were running into each other at Adamâs wedding.â
âI know,â Spencer replied, glancing over at her with a warm smile. âItâs hard to believe how much has changed since then.â
They arrived at the hotel, a charming retreat nestled among the vines. As they checked in, Spencer couldnât help but feel a sense of dĂ©jĂ vu as they were handed the key to Room 212, the very room where their story had taken a new turn five years ago.
âRoom 212,â Y/N read aloud, a grin spreading across her face. âYou didnâtâŠâ
âI did,â Spencer confirmed, his eyes twinkling with mischief and love. âI thought it would be fitting.â
Once inside the room, Y/N wandered around, taking in the familiar surroundings that were now filled with memories of their first encounter as adults. The atmosphere was charged with a sense of romance and anticipation, the promise of what was to come.
Spencer wrapped his arms around her from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder as they looked out the window at the sprawling vineyards. âI thought we could relive some of our favorite moments,â he murmured, pressing a soft kiss to her cheek.
âThat sounds perfect,â Y/N replied, leaning into his embrace, feeling the warmth and security of his presence envelop her.
As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the landscape, Spencer suggested they take a walk in the garden, just as they had done five years ago. The garden was as beautiful as ever, the flowers in full bloom, their colors vibrant and alive.
They strolled hand in hand, the world around them quiet and serene. It was as if time had stood still, and the garden was theirs alone. Y/N marveled at the beauty of the moment, unaware of the surprise Spencer had planned.
As they reached a secluded spot where the stars began to twinkle overhead, Spencer stopped, turning to face her. His heart was pounding, but his resolve was steady.
âHey, babe?â Spencer said, his voice carrying a soft hint of excitement and nervousness.
âYeah, whatâs up?â Y/N turned around, a curious smile on her face, the sunset casting a warm glow on her features.
Spencer took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the moment as he dropped to one knee. The world seemed to slow down, the colors of the sky blending into a beautiful canvas that mirrored the emotions swirling inside him.
Opening the box, he revealed a stunning ring that caught the light of the setting sun, sparkling like the stars beginning to emerge above them. âWill you marry me, Y/N?â he asked, his voice full of hope and love.
Y/Nâs eyes widened in surprise, and a burst of laughter escaped her lips. âYou jerk!â she laughed, tears of joy welling up in her eyes. âYes, Spencer, of course!â
Spencer slipped the ring onto her finger, rising to his feet to pull her into a tight embrace. Their lips met in a kiss that was both tender and passionate, sealing the promise of their future together.
The garden seemed to shimmer with magic as they stood there, wrapped in each otherâs arms, the world around them fading away. It was a moment that felt both timeless and fleeting, a beautiful beginning to the next chapter of their lives.
As they made their way back to the hotel, hand in hand, Y/N couldnât help but smile, her mind a whirl of excitement and dreams for the future. The air was crisp with the coolness of the evening, and the soft glow of the hotel lights guided their path.
âI canât believe you planned all this,â she said, glancing at Spencer with adoration. Her heart felt light, as if it were dancing with every step they took.
Spencer chuckled, feeling a warmth spread through him at her words. âHad to let you redeem yourself for letting all of this go last time,â he replied, gesturing to his body with a playful wink.
Y/N laughed, the sound bright and joyful. âDoes the ring come with a gift receipt?â she teased, raising an eyebrow in mock consideration.
Spencer feigned shock, placing a hand dramatically over his heart. âWow, you wound me, darling,â he said, his eyes twinkling with humor.
Their banter continued as they entered the hotel, the familiar surroundings now holding a new significance. The same room where they had reconnected years ago was now a witness to their engagement, a witness to the journey they had taken together.
Back in Room 212, they reminisced about their first meeting, their conversation laced with humor and fond memories. It was a perfect end to a perfect day, one that marked the beginning of a new and exciting chapter in their lives.
As they lay together, wrapped in the comfort of each otherâs presence, Spencer felt a deep sense of peace and fulfillment. He knew that whatever challenges lay ahead, they would face them together, bound by the love that had brought them back to this place and would carry them forward into the future.
The Di Angelo Siblings: A Cold Case
One early unsolved case that confuses people to this day is the case of the Di Angelo siblings, Nico and Bianca Di Angelo.
They were born in Italy to Maria Di Angelo, Bianca in 1926 and Nico in 1928. Soon after their births, the family of three packed up and moved to Washington, D.C., where, according to friends and neighbors, they lived happily without trouble. Records show that the children were healthy and did well in school, living peaceful lives. People also state that the siblings never knew who their father was, but didnât seem to mind much, or perhaps they were too young to care. Nevertheless, they grew up untroubled.
However, disaster struck when World War Two broke out in 1938, when the small family left for what was meant to be a short trip. According to an anonymous source, Maria had allegedly been planning to meet with the father of her children, though thereâs no way to confirm nor deny that this is what she had planned, nor if the meeting had ever even occurred, for soon after, the hotel they were staying at suffered a severe explosion.Â
Allegedly due to a gas leak, the blast caused many fatalities, including to the Di Angelos; Mariaâs remains were found blown apart amidst the rubble.Â
What makes this case so bizarre is this: Bianca and Nicoâs bodies have never been located. In fact, itâs possible they hadnât been caught in the accident at allâeyewitnesses claim seeing children matching Nico and Biancaâs descriptions being led away by a man in a business suit. The two siblings seemed âcompletely unharmedâ and âeerily at easeâ, as if they hadnât even known about the explosion. Several reported sightings follow the Di Angeloâs path state-by-state, in Indiana, Missouri, Colorado, Utah, and finally down to Las Vegas, Nevada, where the siblings suddenly disappear. Investigators have been left puzzled by this case for decades, trying their best to figure out who the man must be, why the children were with him, why they were unharmed.
Some theories suggest that the man was, in fact, the biological father of the children, and he had taken his son and daughter from their mother before the explosion occurred. This may be a plausible explanation, but it raises questions on why Maria wasnât with them, or why this manâwho had been seemingly absent from their lives for ten yearsâhad arrived at the hotel just to take his children halfway across the country. Internet users theorize that he may have kidnapped the children, and Maria was going to report them missing if she hadnât died in the gas leak.Â
Further complicating this case is the fact that thereâs zero evidence of either sibling ever being in Vegas. Their medical and academic records stopped being updated from when the short trip began, and the siblings never legally appeared anywhere after that, not in Nevada or in Washington.Â
With no reliable leads, investigators have declared this a cold case, and the Di Angelos were declared legally dead in 1952, more than fourteen years after their disappearance. The case was closed, and people stopped looking into it.
However, starting a few years ago, users have discovered that there have been reported sightings of the siblings. Though the children would be well into their eighties by now if theyâd even survived, these sightings claim that Nico and Bianca look like they havenât aged a day.Â
These claims would be preposterous if the children didnât allegedly have the exact names as Nico and Bianca Di Angelo, and theyâre allegedly the same age. Conspiracy theorists have a multitude of explanations for this, from the Bermuda Triangle and Greco-Roman myths of Lotus flowers, to space missions and time-warping science experiments performed on the children, but none of these should be considered as evidence for obvious reasons.Â
Internet sleuths have discovered that these alleged clones of the Di Angelos were enrolled in Westover Hall, a military school in Bar Harbor, Maine, though they disappeared from school records after December. More reported sightings of the Di Angelos, specifically Nico, have been reported, but authorities dismiss these as fabricated nonsense claims designed to confuse and scare the general population.
Up Next: The mysterious death of Jason Graceâa boy missing for fourteen years.
"I'm reachin' for you, terrified, 'Cause you could be the one that I love, I could be the one that you dream of, Message in a bottle is all I can do, Standin' here, hopin' it gets to you" - Taylor Swift's 'Message in a Bottle (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault)
It was clear to everyone that there was something between you and the BAU's resident genius. So clear infact, that even the two of you knew it. Many times your brain had danced on the idea of confessing, or even just going up to Spencer and asking for sure if he liked you, but you already had that confirmation from Morgan through a voice message he had sent you of Spencer admitting his feelings one time when they had gone out.
At first, the thing you had found frightening was the fact that your best friend liked you. You didn't know what you were supposed to do with that information. But the more you thought about it, the more you realised that what actually frightens you is the fact that those feelings are reciprocated ten-fold, you just weren't sure on how you felt about them being out in the open to him -- and so, you found other ways to show your feelings. You wanted to ensure that Spencer knew you cared for him more than a normal friend did, but you also wanted to make sure that it could still be played off as a friendly gesture if anyone asked or if he was to find someone else.
You always thought Spencer was beautiful, both in the way he acted and especially the way he looked. When he had come in slightly late to a briefing with a brand new hair cut, it's safe to say you were hypnotized. Then when Hotch made his comment about Spencer's new haircut making him look like a boyband member, you could see Morgan's face waiting for your comment, as you had many times mentioned about how certain boyband members were attractive. But you couldn't pull your eyes from Spencer. He hadn't noticed, but when it was your turn to make a comment on the case, you were tongue-tied, stumbling over your words. This then prompted Spencer to later pull you to the side to ask if you were okay because for you to stutter in front of people like that was an extremely rare occurrence.
Realising you definitely wanted more out of yours and Spencer's relationship, you went for leaving him more obvious hints. You wanted to make sure he knew what you meant by your gifts so you'd write flirty notes and leave them on the front pages of books you'd give him, or attach little comments to the cups of coffee you'd buy him. You were sure this would work, but then work took over.
As an intern, you had certain times when you weren't in the office helping Garcia out and were instead in classes and study sessions to prepare for exams. Usually, you would try your best to help Garcia and the team from her office while also studying there, however, you had your biggest, most important one coming up, and Hotch had given you the time off to allow you to focus on it, ensuring you that the team would be just fine without you for a few weeks.
At the beginning of this break, you'd study in your apartment and Spencer would come over with take-out to help where he could and to just keep you company, you studying while he read on your couch. However, the team had been called to Las Vegas on a gruelling case, so times for you and Spencer to talk were very limited. Even when they got back, Spencer had vaguely mentioned that he had seen his mother while in Vegas and wanted to see if he could get her into another programme. You still had about a week to your exam so studying became more frequent and time to talk and hangout with Spencer became very sparse, sometimes going days without talking at all.
Eventually, your exam had passed and so came the long wait for your result. You were back at the BAU, and even though they had hit a dry spell of cases, paperwork and training did not. The mornings would drag, but when it would come to lunch, you and Spencer had decided to take it together everyday, often heading to a local cafe for an hour to talk and just have a break.
On a seemingly endless workday, a day where you didn't get a chance to stop for lunch, there was a knock at the door of yours and Garcia's shared office.
As the door opened, you both looked up, your smile immediately widening at the view of your best friend holding a tea and a bag of what you assumed was something from a bakery the two of you had found a while back.
"To what do we owe the pleasure Doctor?" Garcia's teasing tone was unmissable as she gave you a side look with a smirk, knowing exactly what had prompted the visit.
"Well, someone, skipped out on me for lunch today so I decided to bring it here, and don't worry I got you some too Garcia."
Garcia took her food and made it seem like she went back to work but in reality she was watching as you and Spencer chatted.
Spencer soon left to get back to his own pile of paperwork and you watched the door a few seconds too long after he left, your daze only breaking at the sound of Garcia's voice. "Girl. You need to tell him, I know you said you were leaving him hints but I don't think he got them, I think you need to be clear and just tell him."
The only word going through your head was 'disaster'. Not in the terms of your relationship, but in the terms of you knew you were going to go through with it and risk everything.
At the end of the work day you made sure to be ready to leave for when Spencer also would be leaving. Running a little to catch up to him by the elevator you shouted his name. "Spence, hey."
"Hi, you didn't have to run, I would've waited for you." He said, laughing a little as you regained your breath now on the elevator.
"Yeah yeah, anyway, movie night?"
Spencer's smile grew even wider than it already was as he nodded and followed you to your car when you got to the parking lot.
It took a while for you to finally gain the courage to confess. In your head as you left the BAU, you had told yourself to do it as soon as you arrived at your apartment, but that nagging part of your brain told you to be a little selfish and enjoy what could be the last few hours of normalcy between the two of you if this were to go downhill.
Two movies later and Chinese take-out on your coffee table, you turned to Spencer.
"You could be the one that I love."
There was silence.
You weren't sure why you had phrased it like that, knowing Spencer would be confused, and this was evident in his face: his eyebrows scrunched in confusion as he finished chewing his food, turning to you.
"And I could be the one that you dream of."
You cringed inwardly at yourself again, willing yourself to just express your feelings normally, but just as you went to speak again, Spencer beat you to it. "You're already the one I dream of. My every thought is consumed by you. I've noticed your hints, pretty girl, all of them, the notes, the extra gifts, which by the way, I love but you really do not need to be spending that much on me, I know how much limited book editions cost and you've bought me five in the past two months. Anyway. I am in love with you and I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier but you seemed to have a lot of work and I wanted to make sure I wouldn't add to that if those 'hints' turned out to just be friendly."
You were stunned, and your lack of response seemed to invite Spencer to continue.
"You are the one that I love. You have been for a long time. I think I've spent more time being in love with you than I have just thinking of you as a friend."
Stupidly, instead of saying anything, you just looked down at your lap. You didn't know what to say. You weren't entirely sure what you were expecting to come out of your 'confession', but Spencer's words were not an expectation in any of your many thoughts of how this would play out.
"Please say something, if I've got it wrong, please let me know so that I can leave-"
The idea of him leaving seemed to pull you from your stun. "No! Please don't leave. I'm sorry, I just never expected you to say anything like that. I played this all out in my head so many times but I never expected you to think of me that way. I am so unbelievably happy and in love with you Dr. Spencer Reid."
Cringing at the use of his full titled name, he muttered out a "Shush you," as he cupped your cheek, pulling you into his lips.
Your message in a bottle got to it's destination.
i won't lie, this is so rushed and i actually kind of hate how it turned out, but it is 4:31am and i am tired but i just really wanted to get this out. at least it's longer than my last two fics. i might come back and edit it but for now, here it is. either way, i hope you enjoyed and please send requests, the people i can write for are in my masterlist!
Hi! Could you do a Caitlin Clark one where we surprise her at one of the Fever Games?
hi! yes ofc! sorry itâs taken me a while to post this! ive been swamped with essays for my summer classes :( i chose to do the fever game against dc where cait had one of her best games of the season! i figured it was fitting if y/n surprised her and she saw her during the first quarter and started dedicating the game to her and it helped her make her shots! i also decided to make y/n a singer whoâs touring, which is why she canât make all of ccâs games!
dc surprise c.clark x reader
caitlin clark x reader!
summary: you're on tour for festival season (its giving chappell roan) and you haven't been able to make it to one of caitlin's games for a while. you finally are able to make it to one and come to DC to surprise her!
!đšđ©đ©đ đșđ·đŹđšđČđșÂĄ
okay i love how this started but idk how i feel abt the ending bc i kind of rushed it but its okay
first cc fic hehehe
đđđđđđđ: the use of y/n?
The last two months have been crazy for you. The festival season had begun, which meant you were on the road more often than not, touring all over the states, playing show after show with no breaks. It made it impossible to take any time off for yourself, making it incredibly hard to find the time to watch your girlfriend play her first few games as a pro.Â
Youâd caught a break for her very first game, spending the week before with her while she finished up training camp and supported her through the loss of her first game pre-season, and their loss against Connecticut. But youâd only made it to a few others, including the game in Las Vegas as youâd wanted to see her and Kate play. But festivals almost every other weekend, and the process of recording your new album made it hard.Â
Caitlin understood she knew what sheâd signed up for when she asked you to be her girlfriend two years ago. It didnât make it easier, but she understood. You had a responsibility to your fans and to your label just as she had a responsibility for her team and the league.Â
The two of you had been inseparable while still in school, you taking part-time classes while juggling your rising stardom, Cait constantly at games or practice, but you lived together, and that made it easier. Right now, Caitlin lived in Indiana, and you lived in hotel rooms, scarcely able to make it back to her apartment.Â
Finally, there was a break in your schedule, coming only two days before you were set to perform at Gov Ball in New York. Caitlin would be in DC for a game, youâd decided to make the trip out there as it was only a few hours from the city and you could stay a few days there with her. You hadnât told Cait your plan but youâd texted some of her teammates and Katie Lou pulled through, her family had spots courtside as her sister played for the Mystics and they had a seat for you and a few of your friends. All you had to do was let your management know about your little detour, but it wouldnât be a huge deal because of the publicity youâd get at the game.Â
The public knew you and Cait were friends, and some people suspected you were more, and you were very open with your sexuality. But, Caitlin was more reserved, she wanted to keep your relationship more private, to try and keep the vultures off your backs. Youâd both seen what the media could do to relationships and valued the health of your relationship over the ability to flaunt each other in public.Â
There were also of course the fans who shipped you with Kate. This had caused a bit of tension between you and Caitlin, especially after the Fever game in Vegas, where people pointed out it was one of the only games youâd attended. But Kate put the rumors to rest mentioning how she saw you as a younger sister on one of Jadaâs lives. Which was a relief, and Cait was ready to risk it all just to prove to the internet that you were hers.Â
Sometimes you wondered how the internet had yet to put all the pieces together, due to all of the songs youâd written about her. It baffled you how many people assumed they were about exes and not about the girl you were with. But Caitlin thought it was hilarious, especially when you dropped your album, and âSo High Schoolâ wasnât immediately connected to her.Â
Being at this upcoming game for Cait was important to you. The media was ripping her apart and it broke your heart that you were unable to be there and support her. Especially as you were at such a high in your career, she deserved all the love and support from you, the same support sheâd given you when you were at your lowest point.Â
So you booked a flight to Washington, DC with a promise to your management you wouldnât blow out your vocal chords screaming at the game, and headed to the airport early the morning of the game.Â
â
Everything worked out perfectly, and now you were on your way to DC for the game. Caitlin had texted you that morning letting you know sheâd landed at Dulles and was heading over for practice. Youâd responded, wishing her good luck tonight and that youâd be watching the game from your New York apartment couch. She of course thought you were flying to New York this morning, and was not suspicious at all that your phone was off for three hours. You just prayed no one had caught wind of you leaving Boston and was waiting at the airport when you landed. The last thing you needed was paparazzi pictures hitting the internet when you were trying to surprise your girlfriend. She had your hashtag notifications on for every website, and it was impossible to get away with any form of surprise because of the media attention you got.Â
Thankfully when you touched down and made your way through the airport there were no reporters. You bumped into a couple of fans, taking pictures, but asking them to wait until the next day to post pictures of you in the airport.Â
You took an Uber to your hotel, a hat pulled low over your eyes trying to avoid anyone recognizing you. There were a few hours left until the game and you were settling into your hotel as Caitâs name flashed on your phone, with a Facetime request.Â
âHey baby,â she said when you answered, her tired eyes meeting yours.Â
âHey, love.â You smiled, taking in her appearance, her ponytail a little ruffled, and her warm-up shirt soaked with sweat. âDid you just get done with practice?âÂ
She nods, wiping a hand across her face, âyeah, weâre about to head back to the hotels to get ready for the game before shoot-around.â She pauses, eyes wandering across your face through the screen. âWhat are you up to?â
âWriting.â You shrug coyly, smirking as her face lit up.Â
âAbout me?â You couldnât help but laugh at her expression.Â
âNo, Iâm writing about some other six-foot brunette who plays basketball.â Caitlin pouts which makes your stomach clench. She looks so cute when she does that. âDonât pout at me, baby.âÂ
She rolls her eyes, smiling again. âYouâre watching the game tonight right?âÂ
You nod, shaking your head as she always double-checked. âYup, I have my 22 jersey ready and a bottle of wine.âÂ
âGood,â she grins, âevery shot is for you, baby.âÂ
â
The line to get into the stadium wrapped around the building, reminding you of the pictures youâd seen of Eras Tour queues. Sometimes you were immensely glad that you were able to cut the line.Â
Youâd texted Caitlinâs parents, meeting up with them so you all could head over to the game together. The three of you were able to cut in line, going through the family entrance, and mingling with people before finding your seats.Â
Deciding to wear a hat to the game had become a good idea, shielding yourself from prying eyes and the eyes of your girlfriend, not wanting to distract her before the game. It always went better for her if she found you in the crowd naturally, almost as if your presence lit a fire in her.Â
And lit a fire it did. Only two minutes into the game Cait spotted you. Her eyes zeroed in on your shoes first, waiting to check the ball right before you. They traveled upwards, meeting your own, a smirk across your lips. Her jaw dropped, and she quickly recovered as you winked cheekily at her.Â
âWhat the fuck,â she mouthed at you.Â
âSurprise,â You mouthed back, grinning. Her parents laughed, sitting beside you.Â
It was as if a switch had flipped. She started shooting every three, making almost every single one of them. You were on your feet, cheering for her every time she made a bucket, just like you had in college.Â
Caitlin was on fire, and everyone noticed, trying to figure out what had caused this winning streak. The camera panned along courtside as the half approached, the media team obviously noticing Caitâs eyes on your section every time she landed another shot.Â
You, Brent, and Anne smiled and waved for the camera as it hovered in front of you. All three of you glanced up, seeing yourselves on the jumbotron, your name and âCaitlin Clarkâs Parentsâ popping up under your faces. The camera stayed there for a while, the three of you trying to maintain smiles as if became slightly awkward, finally when they moved on your eyes found Caitâs and she rolled her own, exasperation showing through.Â
Both of you knew this would come with tons of speculation, but you werenât upset over it. As long as the two of you were happy, nothing would come between you, even the nosey media.Â
â
As soon as the game was over you were ushered to the tunnel, following behind the players yelling in excitement over the win against DC. At an away game too. You smiled, watching Cait hug Katie Lou, and Erica. Her eyes began to travel around the room, looking for someone, looking for you. When your eyes connected, she ducked out from under her teammate's arms, sprinting towards you.Â
You collided, her arms catching you at the top of your thighs as you jumped into the air. She spun you around, a wide smile across her lips.Â
âI canât believe youâre here!â The sound of her voice sent a wave of warmth throughout your body, having only heard it through the phone for the last month.Â
âI couldnât wait any longer,â you whispered into her neck as she set you down. âI missed you so much, Caity.âÂ
âYou have no idea how much Iâve missed you, baby.â Caitlin pulls you even closer, as if trying to make sure youâre real, and actually in her arms. âHoly shit, I literally cannot believe Iâm holding you right now.âÂ
âBelieve it, baby, Iâm here for another day.âÂ
Caitlinâs face lit up. âWe have all night and all day together?âÂ
You nod, eyes wandering across her face, taking in her features, trying to ignore the pang in your heart at the bags under her eyes. âI cleared it with Christie. Iâm traveling with you guys to Indiana tomorrow and flying out the morning after.âÂ
Caitlin lunged forward, connecting her lips to yours. You smiled against hers, hands finding their way to her hair. The whistles of her teammates in the background made the two of you pull apart, breathless. She pressed another kiss to your lips quickly before turning around to face her team and shooting them a look of irritation.Â
âLet's get out of here,â she laces her fingers with yours, tugging you in the opposite direction of the locker room.Â
âWait but donât you have to-âÂ
âNope.â The two of you weave your way through the mass of people, heads down, quickly making your way toward the exit. âIf Christie knows youâre here, sheâll be fine missing me for post-game.âÂ
âBut the media?â She grins at you crookedly.Â
âIâm not on the schedule for once.â Caitlin leans forward quickly, pressing her lips on your temple. âNow come on, we have a lot of time to make up for and only one night to do it.âÂ
I cant do this anymore - George Russell x Wolff! Reader Part 5
Plot: You are the daughter of Toto Wolff team principle of Mercedes-AMG Petronas, you've worked your whole life to become an engineer. However, your dad has other ideas for you and doesn't want you to become a race engineer. You start to confide more in the Red Bull Racing Team Principle to help you get an engineering job, and see him as your present father figure.
There was a pretty decent break between Brazil and Las Vegas, you spend the first week with Geri and Christian and their kids. You'd had a blast riding their horses, going for bike rides and lots of baking.
They of course let you stay with them in the spare bedroom, you went on a massive shopping spree with Geri getting some new clothes as you hadn't gone home and talked about everything you normally would with Suzie. You couldn't lie, you really missed her, especially the hugs she gave you.
However on the weekend before Vegas, Lewis had texted you seeing if you'd wanted to stay with him in Las Vegas for a bit. Lewis had known you since 2009, you were 9 years old. You always came to as many race weekends as you could, obsessed with F1 as much as your dad. You loved the fast cars and the smell of the fuel.
Here was were you were introduced to Suzie, it was perfect time really. You were a 9 year old girl, about to enter here teen years without a mother figure. And Suzie and you, got on like two peas in a pod.
In 2012 when he became the executive director in Williams you travelled with him. Your mum didn't want anything to do with you, so that left you to be home school. It wasn't easy in Williams, they were tight on money and resources despite Toto's financial contributions to the team and no-body had time for you it seemed.
The next year when your dad moved to Mercedes, that had a slightly bigger budget and more time around the paddock was when it became easier.
The engineers helped you with your math's and science while marketing and legal would help you with your English. That's where your love of engineering came from.
Lewis would often stay with you, he and Nico were like brothers and they couldn't help but see you like a little sister with the relentless teasing they put you through.
As you got older, Toto paid for you to have an online tutor so you could sit your GCSE's at some point. 2016 was probably the worst year you had on record apart from everything that's happened in 2023.
You could tell that when they started to compete for the championship in 2014 that things were getting tense between them, they tried to keep it to themselves but you could tell with the post race interviews and how they didn't want to hang out as much together with you.
But in 2016, when Nico won and their friendship had pretty much crumbled as far as it could you, you were also sitting those GCSE's and it was a really tough year for you. Lewis and Nico now spoke to you separately, their sides of the garage never crossing over like they used to.
So you not only had the stress of your GCSE's, the stress of your two role models no longer talking and with that your own childhood best friend cutting you off because of how much you travelled and your commitments not being strong enough. And to top it of Nico was confirmed to be leaving the sport which would mean you wouldn't see him as often.
However, despite everything that went on you came out with some really good grades, thanks to Lewis and his help when it come to studying.
You actually met George the year after when he became a junior driver for Mercedes. You had just turned 17 and he was 20 and part way working his way up through the feeder series into Formula One.
You actually had a crush on George all the way back then, Lewis convinced you it was just a silly little school girl crush you'd soon get over and motorsport men were a walking red flag. Which you found out was true with your first heartbreak when you dated an F2 driver that was the same age as you. You dad of course was hesitant at first, and he was right to be. He cheated on you with one of the insta models 7 months into your relationship.
Lewis did a lot for you and you guys were close, so you almost felt like you couldn't say no even though you didn't want to anyway.
You got the first flight you could out to his LA mansion.
"Hello" he greeted you as you'd found him in the airport with his security. There was of course Paps so it was only a short amount of time before people knew you were here with Lewis.
He drove the pair of you back to his LA home, you guys spent the rest of the week surfing, go-karting and walking Roscoe. Everyone knew you were here by now so you posted a photo dump on the Wednesday to Instagram, photos of everything you guys had been up to.
Everyone in the comments was so excited that big brother Lewis was back.
"So, I think now that we've had some time to chill out we should talk about the serious matters on the table" Lewis says as he spoons some of the vegan dish his private chef had made you guys.
"Mmmm?" you hum as you gobble more of the delightful food down.
"I miss you in the Mercedes Garage and the red bull top doesn't suit you" he says making your head whip to the side.
"Excuse me!" you nearly choke on your food.
"Look, I know what Toto and George did was foul... and others have made it into this whole dramatic show, but I miss teasing you in the garage and I miss you telling the engineers something was wrong and trying not to laugh! I miss you! Everyone does, George, Toto, Suz, all the hospitality and mechanics and the engineers!" he offers looking at you.
"I'm not coming back to Mercedes Lew, I've found my place in Red Bull, they've even let me help on the 2024 car! My dad turned me down straight away when i asked, they trust me there and they like my ideas! I'll talk to both of them okay, I promise but Red Bull stuck their neck out for me hiring me... so I owe them!" you admit, knowing Red Bull helped you a lot, as much as you'd helped them.
"I know I know, but just talk to them soon. They are both suffering and they regret what they did!"
You drove in Lewis car all the way to Nevada. It was only a 4 hour drive where you guys did make stops along the way. You guy's parted ways as you got there. He needed to be present for media duties and you had to be with Red Bull making sure the car was up to standard.
You checked in with everyone you hadn't seen for the two week gap, checking in with the mechanics making sure they though the car was looking okay after the race.
And before you knew it Max was coming out of FP1 in 4th, FP2 in 6th and FP3 in 4th. It was a new track and everyone was getting used to the it and how the car performed on it. In Practices it was more for the driver to get the feel for the car.
Max qualified P3, but because Carlos had to take a 10 place grid penalty he was moved up to P2. He was on the front line next to Charles Leclerc and if he got a good start he could finish again P1.
Vegas was a stressful race for everyone. Charles and his Ferrari was made for the layout of this street circuit it seemed. Lando had a really bad crash which had everyone worried.
Ferrari, once again fucked up their strategy as you called Max to box when the safety car was released. Charles had only pitted a few laps prior. Now Max and Sergio were on the fresher tires.
"Warm those tires up Max then when DRS is available go for that overtake on Turn 3 for P1" you advise as he rolls out of the pits behind the safety car that Charles was already following.
Eventually you had both Red Bulls in the front ready for a 1-2 podium. But on the final lap Charles went for the overtake on Sergio and broke the Red Bulls up, there was no way he'd catch up with Max but you told him to hold his position.
Again Max Verstappen had one his 18th race of the season and you'd been his race engineer for a whole new track. He'd pulled you into a massive hug, along with Christian who was impressed with how quickly you were adapting to the new role.
"Amazing driver guys! Straight to Abu Dhabi now!" Christian grins, nothing could now ruin his mood. Max had been confirmed Champion of the World a few races back but Red Bull still wanted to prove they were winners.
And that you did, you went to Abu Dhabi and one again by a landslide. You all celebrated the end of the season and Max asked you to come up on the podium with him again. However, George had come P3. so you were up on the Podium with him and Charles too.
The champagne was brought out and all the guys showered each other before coming over to you. They soaked you with the rest of the champagne the dark team gear sticking to your skin.
"Omg" you squeal as someone pulls back your top and dumps some of their champagne down your back. You swivel round to see George. Everything is so loud around you right now. Charles and Max are off celebrating the podium together a little further away from the pair of you now.
"George" you say looking up at him and he sheepishly takes a step back.
"George, no! I'm sorry I didn't speak to you sooner" you say looking at him, only for his head to cock to the side where he couldn't here you.
"What?" he shouts coming closer.
You lean in right up to his ear so that he can actually here you.
"I'm sorry I ignored you for so long. I was being childish. Lewis... Lewis talked some sense into me." you say.
"You-" he starts confused. He was the one that owed you an apology not the other way around.
"Y/N listen to me. Meet me tonight and we will talk about everything I promise!" he shouts making you able to hear him over the crowd.
"Okay!" you nod, before turning around and the Red Bull team all cheer as you hold up the trophy.
"Oh and George, Congrats of P3!" you grin, before joining Max and Charles.
Maybe it was time for you to talk it out. Maybe even to reach out to your dad! Lewis was as always right!
short nâsweet (1/?)
kate martin x popstar!reader
contains: flirting (bad flirting)
a/n: nobody talks about how embarrassing writing fanfic is but anyway pls send me feedback or requests!!! also next part coming soon cause this was supposed to be longer im just lazy EDIT: just read this back guys are so fake bc none of the 17 of you who read this and liked it wanted to tell me i posted the unedited version full of mistakes i see how it is ANYWAY itâs all fixed now
Finding musical inspiration isn't always simple for you, for other artists it seemed to come easy all of them having catalogs of unreleased works to release whenever they seem fit, it especially hurts when you feel like youâve exhausted and exploited every relationship youâve ever been in, and so naturally you frequently find yourself wishing you could go through a terrible breakup only to write a few words, which was definitely a normal thing people do of course.
So after several hours cooped up in a studio in Vegas, feeling like you're drowning in wasted paper, you decided to gracefully accept the invitation to attend the season's first Las Vegas Aces game. Sports weren't your thing normally, but right now you'd do anything to get a break.
During the game, the camera may occasionally focus on you in an attempt to capture a reaction for an Instagram post or whatever but throughout the forty-minute game, you were so captivated by number 20 you didn't give much thought about anything else, you couldnât take your eyes off her when she started playing, even though she didn't start until after the first half. Her braided ponytail swung as she moved, and she had total control over the ball as she dribbled up and down the court she had you in the palm of her hand and she had no idea.
After the game your only goal was to meet Kate eyes scanning the whole court after press was done but unfortunately for you kate was gone so the next best thing you could do was the epitome of modern flirting, follow her on instagram it probably made you look desperate considering it was only seconds after the game but it was fine nobody would notice right?
Well Kate did because not long after a notification pops up on your phone.
@/katemartin has followed you on instagram
________________________________________________________
After the game then after doing press and getting changed Kate finally made it to her car ready to head back to her apartment, not before checking her notifications, most of which were boring just her friends checking in with her or congratulating her on the aces win tonight but then she sees you followed her.
She canât help but smile to herself of course she saw you during the game. How could she not have noticed you when you looked so good? and maybe she did put in a little more effort she was subbed in, call it the Jordan Poole effect. following you back, then taking it upon herself to scroll through your account, pictures of all of your performances and music videos youâve done, your album cover and a few pictures of you. she likes a few of them before dming you.
@/katemartin
hey thanks for coming to the game !
and for the follow lmao
ahhh youre welcome for coming to the game and for the follow
you played really good btw
showing off??
maybe just a little?? iâm a big fan btw
ohh yeah sure a fan who doesnât follow me
maybe iâm just a casual fan đđ
i guess you could say im a casual fan of you now
cause casual fans follow someone right after the game ends SURE..
Working up the courage, Kate sent you one last message before the conversation naturally halted as she felt she had to take action before this turned into just another lost opportunity.
you looked good court-side btw maybe you should come again if you liked the way i played so much
Before you could even read the message, she launched her phone onto the passenger seat with her nerves at an all time high. All she wanted to do was turn back time so youâd never get a chance to read it.
________________________________________________________
you looked good court-side btw maybe you should come again if you liked the way i played so much
You were blushing, blushing from a message, a message from someone you havenât even talked to in person.
thanks you looked good playing ON the court ill definitely come to another game
You needed to send one last message before turning off your phone.
idk your game schedule but if your free tomorrow do you wanna grab coffee or something?
Now it was your turn to lose it. You were flirtatious, and it was evident in your music, so normally you wouldn't mind doing this sort of thing, but with Kate, it was different; you wanted to impress her because she was special. So with your Uber driver staring at you in the mirror, as you smile to yourself like an idiot you switch off your phone and relax into the backseat of the car.
