２０２３年の靴作りは昨日で区切りをつけて、今日の午前中は工房の簡単な清掃や整理などを行い、その後は細々としたことをやってます。

さて、Wさまのオーダー。 フランスDEGERMANNのオイルとワックスが多めに入った革でお作りしたChukka Boots。 この革は放っておくとワックス分が白い粉のような感じで表面に現れてきます。ブライドルレザーのような感じでしょうか。 知らない人が見たらカビかスピュー(も知らないかも)か？と思われることもあるかもしれませんが、それはそれで雰囲気があって良かったりします。 通常はブラシを掛けて摩擦熱を加えれば落ち着きます。

またまた着画を撮るのを忘れてしまいましたが、それはそれはお似合いでした。 フィッティングは想定通りで良い感じでほっとしましたが、長く履くと何かしら気になるところが出てくるかもしれませんので、その場合は履き心地含めてお知らせいただけるとうれしく思います。 札幌は雪の季節になってしまいましたので、デビューはしばらくお預けになりそうですね。 Wさま、この度はどうもありがとうございました！

Winter Boots

冬の北海道で履くのにちょうど良さそうなブーツをお作りしました。 アッパーの革はイギリスPittards社の防水革、ライニングには本物の子羊ムートン。 革の話をするとかわいそう😢、なんてことになることもありますが、ほとんどが食肉用の副産物として廃棄されずに手間と時間をかけて鞣されたものです。 だからと言って良い悪いの意見もあるでしょうが、それぞれが真摯に向き合っていくことは、この大地に生きていくものたちの宿命なのかもしれません。 何が大地を汚すのか、人工的に作られた聞こえだけの良い革のようなものは、果たして��のように作られ捨てられていくのか。 上っ面だけで判断することの怖さを思います。 こちらのブーツの底周りですが、手縫いのウェルティング、革のミッドソールに手縫いで出し縫い。 アウトソールにはVibram社のFire&Iceを接着ビス止めという仕様です。 自分で履いていないのでわかりませんが… 水も弾いてあったかくてサイドジッパーなので脱ぎ履きも楽ちん。 おまけによほどの環境でなければ雪道も滑らず安心。 木型も足に合っているので重さを感じることもあまりない事でしょう。 欲しくなりますね。
