My hot take on benji is that the only reason people kept shipping it after season 1 finale is because the normalization of the stereotype of the big social boy that falls for the small shy and quircky boy that we see too much on modern media (aka the occasional representation writers put just to not be called homophobic), so when the writers are clearly pairing him with darius ppl don't seen to notice or agree cuz they are too attached to the same stereotype of ever. BenxKenji had never had chemistry on the show and the only reason ppl were shipping was because they are already used to this kinda of experience.

It really got me surprised when they were hinting at benrius because I had a feeling from the start but I felt like it was not going to happen. I hope benrius become cannon not only cause they make a amazingly well written and lovely pair but also because the break of stereotypes and awesome representation that they would give to us unlike something like benji. Ty very much for coming to my dino talk.
