The Benu bird and the Ba bird.
The Benu is a bird associated with the god Ra and the moment of creation. It's usually brownish gold in colour and looks a little like a heron.
The Ba bird is the form a person’s soul takes after death. It has the body of a bird, but the head of the person who died. This depiction probably shouldn’t be taken literally, but rather descriptively, since it encompasses the idea that soul keeps all the traits and character of the deceased person, but is free to fly beyond the body.
Paintings from the tomb of the artisan, Amennakht, at the village of Deir el Medina.

Fountain Pen Review: Benu Bush Viper Fountain Pen
I love my silly, punk rock Benu Skull & Roses Fountain Pen that I was thrilled to grab one of the Benu Viper Fountain Pens in “Bamboo Viper” ($180) , especially in this Spooky Season. It’s a black pen with an embossed, snake wrapped around the barrel with a beautiful shimmery green iridescent color in the scales of the snake. There are also versions called the Mangrove Viper (green-blue pen body…

I have a personal rule to never buy a fountain pen that's more than $50 because expensive pens, for me, would just be a trap. not only is an expensive pen a lotta muns, I'll never actually use it bc I'll be afraid of breaking it... or losing it because I put it down ""somewhere safe""... or having the ink gunk up the nib and barrel because I didn't use it in a while... or it being lost in shipping
meanwhile I have my relatively cheap pens and while ""cheap"" they may be (context for people not in this hobby: I've heard people describe pens in the $100-$200 range as mid-range) I'm not afraid of actually using them. I fully intend to keep them for life but if I do lose or break them at least I'm only down about 20 bucks on average. (not that I won't be upset anyway bc I love each and every one of my pens, but at least I won't have to deal with tHAT WAS 200 BUCKS on top of that)
it does help, too, that I'm not interested in most of the designs of the Spensy Pens. but sometimes I come across one that makes me ough
like look at this!

The Goddess' Lyrebirds -- ;;
In the days before the Goddess rended the land to save her people from Demise, it was common practice for young women with any type of natural talent for magic to give their lives to the church as a "Lyrebird". This was typically poor women who wanted to provide for their families-- but it could be noble women as well who for varying reasons decided to join the church. The church made sure to provide and protect the family of women who decided to become lyrebird's, and so it became a reliable avenue for them.
Once one decided to become a Lyrebird you were stripped of your name and given a new one-- typically bird related. While you weren't forbidden from seeing your family or acquaintances, there was no guarantee you'd ever see them again depending on where you were sent.
A Lyrebird was essentially a wandering priestess with magical talent who's duty it was to protect and serve the Land of Hylia. They were well educated, and taught to fight so that they may tackle any problem presented to them. However, Lyrebirds were more than just simple wandering priestesses. They were as the name suggests, "liar birds". Fakes. Mimics, stemming from a belief that the Goddess walked among them, and by acting as fakes they could keep danger away from the Goddess.
Once Demise invaded the land though, they were all slaughtered, and while few records remained of the practice, it was never resumed after Hylians returned to the land
