Friends invited us around to their place in Chum Creek yesterday. Tasted the wine grown on their vineyard (10 acres, maybe 3 under vine) and enjoyed the minimal intervention, raspberry fruit forward n' fine dusty tannins of this @strenuawine Syrah. Repost from @benstastingnotes - Tasted yesterday @melbfoodandwine event, this 2015 Colleen's Paddock Pinot Noir from @levantinehill is my new favourite wine. Big call? Maybe, but what a wine! It shows the best characteristics of this varietal, in this region, in one inspiring mouthful: perfectly ripe red fruits, spices—cloves n' cinnamon, touch (just a touch) of white pepper, blue-berry and black cherry; aromas and palate of all that and more, with a delicate but persistent acid and a long, silky finish.
