Stan and Richie 100% created their own language when they were 8 and 9 respectively and have continued using it forever. (It’s mostly used to talk shit about the other losers (Bill))

Stan gets really choked up when under pressure/when all attention’s on him (mostly because of his dad), but Richie is always able to see the signs that Stan’s panicking and derails the entire subject (it’s what he does best). They don’t talk about how that’s why Richie did that but Stan’s always grateful

Richie’s usually the only one that picks up on Stan’s overly complicated jokes (he ended up laughing too hard at a joke Stanley said about Bowers being Pavlov given the way he gets his dogs to drool, the losers thought he was mocking Stan)

Stan carries around a cloth to clean Richie’s glasses, them being dirty doesn’t bother Richie but it drives Stan up the wall

They both did little league together, Stan was really good, meanwhile Richie was in outfield picking daises. Stan ended up making the middle school baseball team. After the whole It debacle he told Richie if he had swung at a ball half as well as he swung at that clown he might’ve actually made it onto the team with him

Richie bought Stan his first puzzle as a joke when they were kids, calling it the lame joke present before giving Stan his real gift. Stan absolutely loved it though, it started his love for puzzles and he ended up glueing and framing it

They do a daily lunch swap because Stan loves Wentworth’s egg salad sandwiches and Richie can’t get enough of Andrea’s famous pasta salad

They’ve always 100% without question not skipping a beat said the other was their best friend when asked. Yes, all the losers are all best friends but Stan and Richie have always been the closest and everyone knew it.

what are your thoughts on reddie's parents being estranged best friends? mainly frank & went, who were childhood friends, but also the whole group in college. sonia was always a bit controlling via her insecurities, and all of that escalated and went south when frank got sick. sonia probably blames maggie for calling her out on her shit, and they severed ties from there. frank listens to sonia out of his sense of 'duty' but keeps in lose contact, until it finally falls by the wayside. i live and breathe for hcs abt the losers' parents

But also Donald and Andrea Uris would've been part of that little friend group too- we know this because of Stan and Richie's friendship. And I feel like Andra and Maggie would've been best friends and try to include Sonia but...Sonia is Sonia and at some point they just got tired of her and stopped putting up with her shit.

Frank and Went being childhood best friends though who were forced apart is fucking tragic though; especially after Frank got sick.

Sonia would complain that Andrea and Maggie were 'mean' to her and 'excluded' her and would demand Frank to stop hanging out with their husbands. He didn't know Donald that well so that wasn't much of a lost but losing his connection to Went hurt. But in his eyes Sonia was his wife and he probably got upset with Went because of how Maggie 'treated' her. Even though he knew in the back of his mind what really happened with the wives. Their friendship remained strained after that.

Then Frank got sick and Sonia probably found a way to blame it on Went. Probably said some bs about Went's 'unhealthy habits' that rubbed off on Frank.

Brb, crying thinking how Went would find out Frank died only from the newspaper obituaries and Sonia wouldn't let him come to the funeral.

Imagine if the losers were all chilling at Richie's house, cracking jokes about how much they hate how Henry's dad is a drunk when Maggie decides to drop some fucking CRAZY mom lore on them by just casually mentioning "Oh, Butch? We dated in high school for a bit." And everyone loses their fucking minds.

"WHAT!?" "Yeah, we were pretty serious too, but then I met Went and I dumped Butch for him. I guess I dodged a bullet there!". Richie is totally shaken by this because this means, had Maggie not met wentworth, Richie could have been Richie Bowers. BUTCH COULD HAVE BEEN HIS DAD. CONNOR COULD HAVE BEEN HIS COUSIN. HENRY COULD HAVE BEEN HIS BROTHER. He's actually gonna throw up over this, he's disgusted. And the losers will not stop making fun of him for it.

Richie and Henry are arguing at school and Bev and Stan snicker about the "sibling rivalry". They ask Richie if his "real dad" packed his lunch for him. Ben jokes that he should get a mullet cause it'd suit him. They will not give my mans a break.

It all comes to a head with Butch busts the losers for trespassing in a codemned building and just as they're leaving Richie accidentally calls him Dad. All the losers are just trying so hard to hold in their laughter while Butch looks at Richie so fuckin confused and Richie wants to actually shrivel on himself. It does not help that Butch is the kind of old fashioned dude who calls every young man "son" for no reason.

eddie’s middle name when i write him is always isaiah. it’s biblical, it’s pretty, and i just think eddie’s mom is very much about pretty perfect things and edward isaiah kaspbrak is just a pretty little name

richie

alwaysssss wentworth! always! richard wentworth tozier is so ingrained into my mind that it’s almost canon to me. i just think wentworth and maggie are the type to name their kids after themselves and when richie was born they were like okay cute, little boy, dads name as his middle name.

i think stanley asher is so cute and it’s also a popular name in hebrew and it goes well with his last name so i do love it. truth be told i did do a little digging when i was 14 and needing a middle name for stan and asher was one of the names that kept showing up on popular jewish names websites so it kinda just stuck w me. stanley asher uris ur so famous to me <3
