"Looking forward to this?" Josh asked as he looked over to the person next to him, recognizing Benedict Hartman easily. "I feel like no matter how early I start to prepare, it always sneaks up on me, every year," he laughed, stretching one arm across his chest, and then the other, letting out a relaxed breath. "But I think it's going to be a good run this year."

"I was thinking less adventure, more picking up a ph--" he cut himself off and let out a laugh, "well, maybe google the phone number of the bee keeper. I don't really know if there even are phone books anymore," not the way there had been when he was a kid and needed to look up a number. Although if any town was going to have phone books laying around… it probably would be Merrock, with that small town mentality and all. "I actually probably do have access to bee keepers in the visitor's center," he nodded. "I haven't had to deal with any rogue bees nests yet this year." And hopefully, he didn't have to any time soon, either. "Tell me about it," he narrowed his eyes thoughtfully. Twenty years away meant a lot of the town he knew like the back of his hand just wasn't the same anymore.

"It's kind of frustrating when you know you have a good idea, and you just need people to listen to you, isn't it? Especially someone with your genius, of course," he conceded with a teasing smile. But Beck did have some good thoughts on the world. Jason thought that anyone with half of a brain would agree with him, at least if they knew what was good for them. "Does it, though? Or does the delusion just make it hurt worse when we realize how wrong we were?" Jason tilted his head back with a laugh, then, shaking his head, "you know, I'll take it. I'm embracing forty."

"So adventure to find a beekeeper?" He suggested, which sounded way more fun than figuring out how to just Google it without seeing weird, kinky bee shit or actual science. "I wish we had someone who worked out in nature all day, I bet he'd have a connection," he teased because he had to, it was low hanging fruit. Even though he'd just got back, it was so tempting to just grab a bag and go. He'd only scratched the surface of the world, but like Jace said, timing. He had plenty of it. "Yeah, guess so. It has been nice to see everything and everyone again, there's even been some changes which is cool," he agreed, even if he still would head out tomorrow for another trip, he did plan on coming back. Even ships had anchors and harbours.

"People really should listen to me more, I've got some good ideas," he joked because if you didn't laugh about it, it was just kinda sad. The right thing was usually pretty easy, especially when it came to how to treat people. "Keep it positive and it hurts less when they kill us," he laughed. Making a face, he thought about it for a moment, "that's a 40 year old response instead of an 80 year old, so take that if you want it."

it  felt  like  each  day  was  getting  longer,  each  shift  more  tiresome  than  the  one  before,  less  &  less  time  spent  at  home  with  his  son,  more  &  more  time  at  work  -  or  out  on  that  piece  of  shit  bike  that  broke  down  more  often  than  not,  dragging  back  some  poor  sod  taken  out  of  their  time  &  dumped  into  the  modern  beauty  they  called  theirs.  he  wasn't  meant  to  work  this  weekend,  he  was  meant  to  be  home.  with  his  heat  coming  up  -  he'd  felt  it  eat  away  at  him  all  week,  he  really  shouldn't  be  out  on  his  bike  right  now.  at  least  outside  of  the  barrier,  humans  wouldn't  smell  him.  the  only  goddamn  upside.  he  just  hoped  the  person  he  was  meant  to  find  wasn't  that  kind.  he  didn't  really  want  to  be  dealing  with  an  alpha  when  he  felt  irritated  to  begin  with.

it  was  sunday  when  he  got  to  the  location,  fucking  sunday.  elias  told  him  he's  a  day  out  …tops.  make  that  3  fucking  days  instead.  none  of  that  helped  his  mood,  really,  so  when  he  got  to  the  abandoned  barn  elias  told  him  was  where  the  marker  had  been  most  for  the  past  week…  his  mood  was  …sour  at  best.  some  may  even  say  foul.  no,  it  wasn't  his  heat  influencing  his  mood.  he  was  just  ..  pissed  off.  gun  out,  because  last  time  he  got  fucking  jumped  by  a  wolf,  he  neared  the  place,  steps  slow  &  careful.  "hey,  you  in  there?  i  know  you're  probably  confused  an'  …  maybe  even  scared…"  fuck,  why  did  it  smell  like  alpha?  no  fucking  way.  just  his  goddamn  luck.  "i'm  here  to  help,  alright?  you  speak  english?"

He sounds just like their father, and while part of him dares to give in just an inch to seize this display of resilience, Arden reminds himself that it is only Benedict. The flask in his breast pocket is lifted to his lips again and he elicits a groan at his brother's protest.

"I do not care for what they want, but at the very least I come with warning," He spats, settling into the seat across from him. The copy of what had reached London first is waved between them both but it is no different than the copies he swears still litter the Sinclair estate. "And we are worth far more than seven pence! They should be charging more!"

The look of pain across the man's face is one Arden knows too well, and he ignores it only because he has been taught to. The liquor, however, still stirs his head and he moves over only to hit the shredded satin of the space beside him. "Elevate your legs, brother. You are built like a fragile little spider and deserve far more space. I haven't a clue how you've remained so still this entire journey— tell me, do you wait for some prey to entrap once you have left me at the manor?"

     benedict   was   sporting   a   headache,   mainly   from   his   brother   and   his   loud   voice,   something   he   had   been   used   to   their   whole   life   yet   it   was   still   a   shock   to   him.   especially   so   early   in   the   morning.   the   event   at   the   sinclair's   residence   was   a   thing   benedict   had   only   attended   for   appearance   sake,   not   that   he   had   participated   in   the   hunt   or   ball,   rather   sitting   in   his   chambers   alone   with   his   books   in   front   of   him,   but   he   still   believed   showing   up   mattered   somewhat.      his   legs   are   aching   and   so   is   his   head,   a   loud   sigh   rips   through   him,   "arden,"   voice   quiet   yet   strong,   "i   do   not   believe   the   whole   of   london   wishes   to   hear   your   voice   so   early   in   the   morning—   i   surely   do   not."   he   loved   his   brother   despite   their   differences,   but   it   was   hard   to   do   so   sometimes   when   he   was   just   so...   himself.   "i   do   hope   what   awaits   is   an   actual   cage   for   you,   brother."   benedict   looks   up   from   his   book   then,   "pause—   did   you   really   pay   seven   pence   for   that   trash   gossip?!"

001 Wrightworth and 002 your girl Anna Pascal from TriStrat!

wrightworth (the most ship duo of all AA):

when I started shipping it if I did: I guess after I watched the first game? No that's not quite right, more like after I finished watching the second game. I was like, "Ah, I understand why this is a popular ship now" after the first and then was like, "Yeah this tracks" after the second.

my thoughts: Wholesome ship, I totally get the appeal (the ship's actually a QPR in my fleet, but I'm not bothered by others shipping romantic wrightworth at all)

What makes me happy about them: I dunno, the dynamic works so well. Phoenix and Edgeworth saved each other, they believe in each other, they're always there for each other--they're just a feel good sort of duo for me.

What makes me sad about them: Nothing really? I mean, sure the entirety of the second game is a low point in their relationship, but it's also so interesting from a writing perspective because like, these two would not have gone into the future games with the bond of trust they eventually come to share w/out the events of the second game so like *gestures wildly*. I know a lot of fans headcanon/theorize that the time between 3 and 4 was also a rougher time (although I have my own set of headcanons/theories about this blank timeframe), but again, there's something about weathering the tough times together and coming out stronger that I enjoy seeing in any sort of fictional relationship arcs.

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Hmm, I don't think I have really any other ships for either of them outside of the main one. They have great platonic dynamics with a lot of characters, but nothing that my brain goes "ah, a QPR or romantic relationship!" about

My happily ever after for them: Retired, living together, supporting Trucy's career, tending a nice small house and rewatching Steel Samurai while giving advice to the younger lawyers in their spare time. Probably show up to guest lecture at Themis more often than not, do mock trials for the students there.

who is the big spoon/little spoon: They take turns, but Phoenix likes being the big spoon more often than not.

what is their favorite non-sexual activity: Binge-watching Steel Samurai, Edgeworth critiquing the spinoffs while Phoenix plays devil's advocate as a joke, although probably they have little mock court battles for the silliest things. I headcanon Phoenix as an ex-theater/vis. arts double major and Edgeworth had a "formal" upbringing, so sometimes they go to galleries or live theater performances too (silly little discussions about the art/shows they see like, ALL the time).

Anna Pascal (my girl...):

How I feel about this character: Love her, love her, lover her. My MVP who was first to hit the lv. 30 cap bc I used her so often in battle, but also just one of my overall favorite characters in the story.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Uhhhh..................actually no one, now that I'm thinking about it? I know Milo x Anna is somewhat popular (as popular as can be in a teeny tiny fandom like TriStrat), but I see them more as enemies to weird coworkers. Although when I realized that both Anna and Avlora were orphaned by the same war, part of my brain wondered what it would be like if they talked/interacted and stuff, and that sort of "what if they talked" question once led to a crackship for a different game, so who knows. If my TriStrat obsession comes back maybe Anna x Avlora will turn from a "wonder what would happen..." to full "welp, guess I have a weird ship now"

My non-romantic OTP for this character: I think Anna has a good relationship with all or most of the House Wolffort people. Obviously her weird familial relationship with Benedict is of endless fascination to me, and I think she has something of a familial relationship with Erador and Archibald as well. I think she gets along very well with Serenoa (and eventually Frederica and Geela) too. Weird coworker with Milo, but the two eventually become weird friends. Accidental mentor figure to Trish and Rudolph and is so confused by this. Accidental parental figure to Decimal. Accidental older familial figure to Quahuag, and he still visits her even after being reunited with his mom. Not entirely sure how she ended up with the giant found family, but isn't complaining.

My unpopular opinion about this character: Honestly I dunno if I have any? Small fandoms sometimes mean there is no "wildly popular" opinions or headcanons to actually go against, because everyone is doing their own thing while also being respectful of their fellow fans, and that's how the TriStrat fandom feels on this site at least.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I want to see Anna's conversation with Benedict after her second character story so badly (I still have not played/watched the extra story that got released, so for all I know she does talk with Benedict finally, but until I do play the extra story I'm to sit here and wonder about her weird and wild familial situation in silence).

my OTP: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

a headcanon: I think Anna is very good with children, and probably helped take care of all the kids Serenoa took in during the war. Wildly popular with all the kids in the Wolffort demense. Acted as something of a babysitter, sort of older sister figure to Serenoa as he was growing up. Is a bit baffled by the fact that even teens who are Going Through It (re: Trish and Ridolph) gravitate towards her and think she's cool. Also, I think she got the scar on her face falling out of a tree when she was a kid, but refuses to tell anyone who doesn't already know about the scar's origin, because she knows it makes her look more intimidating and she wants that edge as the official Wolffort spy. Also, also bc I actually have a lot of headcanons, I also think she gets mistaken as younger than she is like, constantly. Partly because she is Very Short, and partly because she has the "age well" genetics. Milo simply did not believe they were almost the same age when Anna finally told her, and it took everyone who knew Anna when she was a kid to confirm that she is in fact in her early 30s. Trish and Rudolph switched from "oh, we're the same" to "holy shit, teach us your ways" as soon as they figured out Anna was not an older teen or early 20s-adult, which was slightly better than the two of them thinking Anna was also a delinquent since they respect her even more now, but she's still a bit ?? about the development.

The bandage pulls tight around her wound and she hisses lightly at the sudden tug - but when she realises why and the shit tumbles out of his mouth, she gets a sort of wolfish grin on her face. When he refuses to repeat exactly what she said, it turns down-right predatory - she's spotted a target for her nonsense, a flustered noble not quite used to how crass she can be, how much she curses, how positively filthy her mouth can be.

"Oh, come on, Benedict," she says, her voice almost a low purr. "You can say it. With your full chest." She pokes it demonstratively. "I saved your life. Owe me. Come on." And no, she won't push him too far - she knows some people have limits and that word she uses with abandon is a step over the line for some. But she wants to tease him. And so she keeps cajoling him.

Yes, she's forgotten her offer to teach him already, but she doesn't exactly care. They'll circle back around to it, and Benedict's threat to face their enemies armed with only a paintbrush. With more teasing. Because she's nothing if not thoroughly herself.

He was smart when it came to art and having an ability to make the best out of a bad situation, but as far as fighting and handling a sword went... he lacked severely in that. Nobody had ever taught him nor given him the chance, there had been no need with guards in every corner of their home protecting them. No, he'd grown up well protected with absolutely no need until he'd decided to leave. Admittedly he hadn't thought it through all that well, but he had brought a sword which he could just about swing in the right direction - he'd just been lucky enough to not have to use it. At least up until he had and Breina had been the one to step in and save his life. Tending to her wounds was the least he could do.

He concentrates on patting the wound down with the alcohol to clean it and then he's pulling apart an old shirt to use as a bandage to wrap it around her arm securely. He's tying it slowly up until she says that and catches him by surprise, as a result he tugs a little too tight around her arm. " Shit, sorry! " He's not innocent by any means, far from it, especially not since he left home but he'd never expected that to come out of his mouth.

" You lost me at c - things being ripped. " His brow raised and he loosened the bandage, retying it just a little looser this time. " I would have more luck using a paint brush as a sword, only it just might... tickle. " He shrugged. Ben knew he needed to learn to fight, he couldn't expect them to protect him forever. " I would appreciate it if you have the time, you may need plenty. "

"Nope," he shook his head, as though delivering sad, sad news to Beck that was probably going to ruin his entire evening. And honestly, maybe it would -- if he was worried about whether or not someone was going to hold doors open for him. At football games. He scoffed when he was told that elbowing the younger man wouldn't be gentlemanly, because of course not, but he didn't have much self control. "The kids?" he winced, pressing a hand to his chest, as though mortally wounded. "Nah, honestly I figured Cordelia and Cage would be here -- I'm right -- and a bunch of my old friends from high school -- also right -- so it felt like the fun thing to do," the thing everyone did in a small town. "So, fountain of youth grease, in other words?"

"No, no, I like it, are you going to open the door for me at the end of the night? This is nice, I'm not usually on the receiving end," Beck joked, even if there was no door to open, he got here on his bike. It was the principle of the thing. "Don't ruin the moment, that's not very gentlemanly." He had to chuckle at Jace's not a lot, this dude really needed to get out more. "Hang with the kids? Alright!" And that kind of comment was exactly why he would have gotten elbowed. "Oh, yeah, same grease. It's our parents' grease, our grandparents' even, probably. So old it's good for you again. Cycle of life."

I’ve also been a massive fan of Stranger Things since the show premiered! And I have been resurrected to Tumblr because of Mr Eddie Munson (in my defence, Joe Quinn is beautiful).
