#bendy dolls

So it's been a VERY busy time for dolls, part of me is trying to get things done before the weather turns too humid, but I'm also trying to take my time, and boy howdy has it been worth it.

Ever since Dark Revival came out, I KNEW I was gonna do some dolls from it. So today we have an early look at Joey and Audrey. And this is all on the first layer! Granted, there's a lot of sealant on them since both have faces recolored with pearlex powder (I can't help it, they gotta SHIMMER!), so I'm not surprised I could go this far, but ooooh I'm excited to keep going. Gonna have to bust out the gouache to delicately get all of Audrey's inky details. I must say, I'm impressed with Joey's hands and how old he looks, I've never achieved quite that level of detail before, it's nice.

Ever since building this shelf with my grandpa and brother in law over the summer, I've had so much fun dressing it up in different ways. Right now it's very Bendy themed, so I have all my completed customs from Bendy and the Ink Machine and Bendy and the Dark Revival, along with my figures that I've never had a good spot for before. XD There's even a few fun gags in there, like the rubber duck to represent our inky duckies from the BATDR Cast Lovestreams, or the box of miniature coca colas up near Joey (Dave Rivas really likes Mexican Coca Cola). I even put up one of my mannequins to represent Carl! (The funny thing is both of my mannequins have names, that one is usually called Hermes.) And of course, I love the functionality of it being an actual bookshelf, so we have all the Bendy books there in the order they came out. Now I can pick them up to read far more easily. I would have more plushies here, but they all live in other parts of the room. Big ones go on the bed (plus Sammy), and little ones go in the beanbag chair. The two shoulder riders are just so small and actually stand upright, so I felt they worked best here.

I've never really had all my lil guys out like this before, it's nice. And of course, for the one non-Bendy portion, I had some fun. So earlier this year, I got the Rainbow High set that was Skyler's studio tools for fashion design for half off. I specifically wanted it so that my mini me doll would have a desk and art supplies, and it did not disappoint! As you can see, we're making good use of it, along with a couple of other doll accessories, like Neon Frights Draculaura's laptop, a Barbie teacup I found thrifting, my Sammy Lawrence Lego as a "doll for dolls", and even a Disney ILY 4Ever cupcake, because of course we need that. XD My cousin very graciously crocheted me this Mario mushroom, and I've been using it as both decor and a doll footstool, since it's a toadstool. X'''D I tend not to use a lot of my doll furniture, but now that I have a spot for it? I think I want to make an effort to play with it more. Like, I need to find where I put my kitchen set now. Clearly we need to have a doll dinner party. XD

Antiques!

So I ended up having to go on errands with my mom today and during that, my mom ended up taking me to a couple antique stores. My favorite things about going to antique stores are the toys as well as old technology such as CRTS, radios, typewriters, stuff like that. What would your sona/main oc look like in one of your aus?

Well it depends on the AU. Mostly he’d look like his normal design in IM if the AU is like just a change in the plot (say for example Ghost, Angel blood, and Villainous Inc) but in ones where there’s a change in world building or set in a different time period it’d change a bit. I’ve put a few down below for you to check out!

For Vampire, Royalty, and Cyberpunk its just a change in costume because of the different time periods

In Merman I’ve made him a flying fish

The one listed under Inky Mystery is like a secondary outfit in that universe. It’s his costume. His normal design is street wear for when he’s not performing.

And for Lost Toys I’ve designed him to be based off of a Slavic faceless doll. It felt fitting with its origins, use, and his backstory in mind.

Happy Anniversary to Bendy and the Ink Machine Chapter 3! Coincidentally, this is also the anniversary of Barbie in Princess and the Pauper, so naturally I had to do something silly. Wow it has been like a million years since I showed a WIP doll hasn't it? Well no time like the present! Audrey here has been sitting in my closet for a while, because I've been intimidated to finish her. But as it turns out, it's not that bad! I was really intimidated about giving her one of her ink powers on the hand, but we managed to paint Flow on with little gold gouache. It came out pretty nicely! And then we made her shirt! Got to reuse some old ripped shorts (and I have some leggings I cut up for making her pants), happy to actually make use of my fabrics. XD I haven't sewn in a while. It's not quite the right color, but with a little paint and pastels to color correct it, it'll be close. I don't have a good sweater fabric that matches her in-game shirt, so my plan is to use puffy paint to replicate the pattern and then muck it up with a black puffy paint for the ink.

Gotta say, since I stopped putting pressure on myself to film my hand sewing, it's gotten a little easier. I can do it in my lap while chatting with friends and family if it's an easy enough pattern, and that's a lot more productive for me personally. I know that when I go to edit my doll videos, that may be disappointing, but I'll find a way to make that work. I'd rather do a good job than focus on filming it perfectly.
