Bringing this back just because I can
How To Dance 101 - [Ben Hardy One Shot]
Pairing: Ben Hardy x Latina!Reader
Warnings: mild smut, maybe?, some goofiness.
A/N: Hi there! Since some of you liked my Seasons one shot and the snippet from my fic, I figured I’d write this thing that just popped in my head last night.
It was another quiet Saturday night in your and Ben’s flat. Ben had been back home for two weeks now, after the press tour, and he had been trying to get his sleeping schedule back to normal, as well as spend as many hours as he could with you, his girlfriend, and Frankie.
After a few glasses of wine, the food was in the oven, Frankie was fast asleep on Ben’s lap, as he played some video games that you couldn’t quite master yet, and you decided to fold a freshly washed load of clothes, which were mostly your boyfriend’s. You made your way to your bedroom, put the basket that contained everything on the bed, and started to fold item of clothing after item of clothing. In the process you managed to steal a couple of Ben’s old shirts that you loved. He wouldn’t mind, they looked better on you anyway, he’d say.

+ ( So after seeing that cute giftset the other day from the end of the City That Never Sleeps DLC for MSM2, really think it was time to point out just how important a step like that is, not only for Peter and MJ's relationship, but for Mary Jane as a whole.
Buckle up, this may be a bit heavy.
Mary Jane, as a character, has shown more than a few times in differing canons that she can have a problem with intimacy. For a long period of time, she's been pretty adept at putting up a front to mask what she actually feels. Almost all of this stems from her family life growing up.
Mary Jane's father was a failed writer , and despite the loving way that their relationship and marriage started out, he quickly turned to take his anger out on not only Mary Jane's mother, Madeline, but also her and her sister, Gayle. Eventually, this was grounds for the three of them to outright leave . They bounced around from relative to relative, including Mary Jane's Aunt Anna, whom would come to play a big role in her life .
But the problems didn't just stop there. Gayle fell in love with a man, and married and quickly discovered she was pregnant with their first child. While things again were happy at first, they quickly began to fall apart , just as they had with Madeline and Philip . When Gayle broke the news to him that she was pregnant again, he abandoned her and their children, leaving Mary Jane and Madeline to help Gayle pick up the pieces.
This mirror of what had happened to their parents wasn't something Mary Jane could ignore.
Things truly came to a head in her life when Madeline fell ill, and eventually passed away, leaving Mary Jane and Gayle on their own. Having already developed the party-girl facade that she would allow to define her for years to come, Mary Jane finally snapped at the idea of now being the one who would be forced to help her sister raise her children.
It's important to note that Mary Jane had been using this mask for a long time by this point as well, to the point that Gayle entirely viewed her sister as not caring for her whatsoever. To MJ, it was like a second skin, and one that she almost seemed to prefer living in entirely.
Eventually, MJ came to live with her Aunt Anna , and finally find some grounding in her life. By this point, she was well aware that Peter Parker was Spider-Man, having found out the night that Uncle Ben was shot, and had been keeping this secret the entire time . Prior to this discovery, she had felt a sense of kinship with Spider-Man after seeing him on television, feeling that they both wore a mask to protect themselves. After finding out who really was under the mask, however, she couldn't deal with knowing the kind of dangers Peter was putting himself in, and actively avoided meeting him, despite Anna and May's attempts to set them up. Eventually, she ran out of excuses, and did meet him finally. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Fast forward a bit, and after having grown closer after the death of Gwen Stacy, Mary Jane and Peter did start to date a bit . Eventually, Peter thought that he should ask Mary Jane to marry him, which he did ... to be met not only with Mary Jane's rejection, but also that she was leaving to Florida with Aunt Anna . She would not return for a few years, but when she did, things with Peter eventually came to a head. She revealed that she did know he was Spider-Man, and that she had known all along . While this was initially done by her to explain why she couldn't handle being around him, it eventually led to their friendship becoming even more important in both of their lives.
After a mess of a situation involving Peter's then-romantic entangling's with Felicia Hardy, the Black Cat, Peter asked Mary Jane to marry him again. Right on the cusp of Mary Jane heading to Pittsburgh to deal with Gayle being arrested in connection with helping their father steal art . While her initial answer was again ' no ', she did concede that with how chaotic things were, she didn't have an answer for him. Leaving for Pittsburgh, Mary Jane quickly discovered upon landing that Peter had followed her there, intent on standing by her side while she dealt with her family issues.
It was this steadfast refusal to abandon her, and the way that the two of them teamed up to defeat a Spider-Slayer that had been tracking Peter, that finally made Mary Jane step back and think. She had long harbored fears that Peter, despite all the years she had known him, might end up being exactly like her father . But the way that time and time again, he had refused to abandon her, finally made her realize that she could trust Peter completely. While waiting for their flight back to New York, MJ agreed to marry him.
What does all this prove ? It shows just how much an important moment it is for Mary Jane, in any adaptation, to tell Peter that she's willing to make that step . Because it's not something that she would make with just anyone , but rather, it's a symbol of just how much she absolutely trusts Peter with that step . No-one else would ever be capable of that level of trust from her. No-one.
Furthermore, it highlights MJ being willing to push back her own fears of not being a good mother, or a good wife . Reading through the Spider-Man material post the wedding annual highlights just how much growth it takes for MJ to grow into the role of being a partner to Peter, especially given the horrors she had already witnessed via Madeline and Gayle's relationships . And she and Peter are not perfect , by any means. They have their spats, but they make up . They don't give up on one another, rewarding that faith MJ placed in him time and time again that things wouldn't end like her parents or Gayle's marriages .
It's this continued renewal of trust that makes it so when they do decide to take that step to having a family, it's without even a smidge of fear hanging over her . Because she knows that if there's anyone in the world who she could have that family with ? It's Peter , the person who she would trust with her life, time and time again .

Prompt:
“Aunt May, this is my girlfriend, Ms Hardy”
May Parker was like a machine in the kitchen, working with various pots and pans, a whirlpool of spices and sauces, keeping a watchful eye on all the foods she was simultaneously cooking.
Now May didn't cook this amount of food regularly, at least not before she realise Peter was half starving himself due to the fact he needed to eat much more than the average body builder because of his high metabolism but didn't want to be an "inconvenience" to May, honestly that boy would cover up a gun shot wound if he thought he was being an inconvenience.
Thankfully Peter didn't eat them out of a home because Tony Stark also discovered Peter's enhanced metabolism and helped make a protein bar with enough calories to feed a football team to help with Peter's metabolism.
But really, the reason May was cooking a feast fit for warriors returning from battle was because Peter had delivered news to her, news that she had both hoped and dreaded to hear since she and Ben took Peter in.
Peter was brining over his new girlfriend.
May knew this day would come, after all her Peter was perfect, he was kind, gentlemanly, considerate, the things a woman would look for back when she was his age.
She was happy to hear Peter had found himself a girl. Someone to be happy with, just as she felt with her Ben.
But also dreaded for two reasons.
One: because it could mean that Peter may no longer need his Aunt May.
And two: because what if this ended in heart break? Obviously everyone experienced at least one heart break when it came to romance, but that didn't mean she wanted that for her nephew.
But she knew she couldn't keep her nephew from ever bringing home a girl, Peter was 17 for crying out loud, it was just natural. She was happy that Peter was growing up. But at the same time, she didn't want to lose her Peter.
But anyway, another reason the meal was so large was because May didn't know a thing about this girl, only that her name was Felicia, so she made a variety of foods just in case Felicia didn't like one type of food, was allergic, didn't fit diet, etc, etc.
The sound of the front door opening was numb to May's ears but Peter's voice broke through to her. "May! I'm home!"
May cleaned her hands and headed for the living room, putting on a smile and opened the kitchen door, finally seeing this mystery girl for the first time.
She expected to meet a shy, book wise, rule abiding girl, maybe with glasses or freckles, you know, something normal, a normal girl. Nothing could have prepared her for the sight before her.
"Aunt May, this is my girlfriend, Felicia Hardy." Peter gestured to the girl next to him, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly.
His girlfriend was what could be described as a teenager's fantasy girl.
Felicia had the face of a model and looked like she damn well knew it. She wore light make up, more noticeable on her cheery red lips and had silvery white hair that reached her hips.
Felicia wore a dark purple off shoulder top that showed her curvaceous figure, with a cropped Leather jacket that had white fur lining around the collar and cuffs, with a matching pair of white silk gloves.
She wore high waist black leather fitting jeans with knee high stiletto heeled boots.
Girl? That was no girl, that was a woman, a woman who should be on magazine covers.
May loved Peter to death, as though she was his mother and would defend his name to the bitter end but even she couldn't help but wonder how Peter had landed such a woman.
Felicia stepped forward, offering her hand out to May, who shook it numbly, still in shock. "Pleasure to meet you May, I've heard a lot about you." Even her voice could make a person weak in the knees, it had the sweet sound of a tinkling bell, with a slightly husky undertone.
Felicia flashed a dazzling smile at May.
"O-Of course." May nodded dumbly. She needed to talk to Peter. Privately. Now.
May looked back towards the kitchen and excused herself. "Sorry, I'd love go talk but I don't want tonight's dinner to burn. Peter, could you be a dear and take a look? I don't want to serve something Felicia might be allergic to, you know, since you didn't tell me anything about her."
Brilliant excuse, it was technically true and didn't sound ridiculous.
Peter gave Felicia a smile and peck, even taking her jacket and hanging it up before obediently following his Aunt into the kitchen.
Peter had closed the door just in time for May to twist towards him with a face that demanded answers. "Who is this woman?"
"Her name is Felicia Hardy." Peter said, sounding hesitant1.
"Yeah, I got that! Who is she Peter?" May demanded.
"She's... my... girlfriend?." Peter explained, his eyes looking to the side nervously.
May had to ask. "How old is she even? Nineteen?"
Peter scratched his cheek. "Uh, actually... she's uh... twenty."
May's eyes nearly fell out their sockets. "Twenty?!"
Peter looked away nervously before locking eyes with May again, head downwards like a submissive dog. "...two."
May closed her eyes and prayed for patience. Not strength because if she had strength, she'd throw this 22-year-old out her home. "Peter Benjamin Paeker." She began but was cut off.
"Before you freak out, she was born the same year I was, but wasn't dusted, so the reason for the five year gap, plus I'll be eighteen soon, also consent laws in New York says this is cool."
"Cool?" May demanded.
"Not cool as in awesome, even if it totally is- I mean! Cool as in okay!" Peter explain.
May pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed. "Peter, I'm happy you have a girlfriend, I really am but... How did you even meet this girl? Was it through a friend?"
"It's complicated..."
"Then un-complicate it for me."
Peter scratched the back of his head, suddenly finding the floor interesting. "I... met her through Spider-Man."
"What do you mean you met her through Spid- she knows you're Spider-man?!" May whisper shouted. What happened to keeping his secret identity?! Did you just need to have an hourglass figure for that to go out the window?!
Peter winced. "Well she's not an ordinary girl, she's... sorta like me."
"Soooo what? She's a vigilante?"
"Yeah!" Peter jumped on that life line. "Well, technically at first she was a thief."
"A thief." May echoed flatly. Oh this was getting better by the minute. Wasn't he supposed to stop thieves, not date them?
"I know what you're thinking!" Peter quickly tried to fix his mistake. "But it's not like that! She only stole from those that could afford it or were criminals. I met her one night and turns out she likes Spider-man, so we started talking and I managed to convince her to be like me, help people, you know."
May still looked skeptical. "So she likes Spider-man. What about Peter Parker?"
Peter didn't look upset at her accusation. "Yes. After a while, she trusted me with her civilian identity and I returned the trust. That's why she's here tonight. Trust me, May. If Felicia didn't like Peter Parker, she wouldn't be here."
May wanted to say so much right now, like how she was happy that Peter was now bringing over girls, but not the kind that were criminals!
But she sighed.
It was too late now. Felicia was here and May wouldn't be able to kick the girl out of her home. Not now. She'd at least give her the benefit of the doubt.
May gave Peter a final glare. "Alright fine. I'll talk to her later. But no more surprises, please!"
"Sure thing Aunt May." Peter gave her a winning smile, relieved that May would at least tolerate Felicia.
***
When dinner was served, May took the chance to question and observe Felicia.
Turns out, Felicia loved a wide range of foods, which is why Felicia seemed to love everything and took an inordinate amount of time to taste each dish and make sure she took her time.
It was also very interesting to see her talk, the woman had an endlessly quick wit and could easily tell a joke that had Peter laughing.
And that wasn't the best part, she made May laugh, a lot. The girl could say something that would set May off and the girl would have the rest of the table in stiches.
In fact, May found herself liking Felicia. The girl was a social butterfly, charming and engaging, a conversationalist, and was just so damn pretty.
But best of all, the way she looked at Peter. May had learnt how to read people during her years and during her time volunteering at F.E.A.S.T. You'd be surprised how much a person's character is revealed during moments like this.
And the way Felicia looked at Peter, it was like she was so enamoured by him. If she didn't know any better, May would say Felicia was in love.
And the way Felicia looked at Peter, the love in her eyes when she spoke about him, the way she hung on his words, it was like Felicia loved Peter more than anything else in the world.
May decided she could accept this woman into her home if she could look at her nephew like that.
That night, as Felicia left, May gave the girl a hug and whispered. "Welcome to the family, I can tell you'll love my nephew."
***OMAKE***
During dinner, Felicia spoke to May. "Mrs. Parker. I can't help but ask, whenever Peter talks about you, he calls you Aunt May, even when you raised him like a mother?"
May nodded. "We had him call me Aunt and his Uncle 'uncle Ben' as to remember his late parents, we know we can't replace them." May explained.
Felicia smiled. "Of course, if anything that makes it easier."
May was confused. "Makes what easier?"
Felicia's smile turned devilish and her voice became a purr. "Well, that way if Peter says "pass the salt, mommy," we'll both know who he's speaking to."
Peter's face turned as red as his Spider suit. "FELICIA!"
And May honestly felt like she was having a heart attack.

What to say about the movie Civil War by Alex Garland
youtube
With "Civil War," Garland explores the complexities of human nature and societal upheaval, presenting a dystopian vision that resonates with contemporary issues. This blog delves into the thematic essence, cinematic techniques, and overall impact of "Civil War," making it a must-watch for fans of speculative fiction.
Thematic Exploration
"Civil War" delves deep into the fabric of societal fractures and the human condition. Set in a not-so-distant future, the film portrays an American society on the brink of collapse, divided by ideological and political conflict. Garland's narrative is a chilling exploration of what happens when a society loses its cohesion and descends into chaos. The title itself is a stark reminder of the ever-present threat of internal conflict within nations, making it highly relevant in today's polarized world.
One of the central themes of "Civil War" is the fragility of democracy and the ease with which civil liberties can be crushed. Garland uses his characters to depict various facets of this theme. Throughout their journey within the states, the main characters (war reporters) introduce us to this new fractured society where the loss of trust in institutions leads to extreme violence. This thematic depth is what sets Garland's work apart, offering viewers not just a story, but a mirror to our own society.
Cinematic Techniques
The visual storytelling in “Civil War” is very striking and intense, with a meticulous attention to detail that enhances its dystopian atmosphere. The scenes of violence are shockingly realistic, brutal and traumatic - for my part. This film depicts the daily life of war journalists. Above all, it highlights the dualism of this profession: whether you're prepared to risk your life for a good photo or not.The cinematography by Rob Hardy, plays a crucial role in immersing the audience in this dystopian world. Hardy's use of long, unbroken shots creates a sense of continuity and realism, making the unfolding chaos feel both inevitable and inescapable.
The sound design also deserves special mention; the ambient sounds by Ben Salisbury and Geoff Barrow add layers of tension and unease, making the film an auditory experience as much as a visual one. It also confuses the viewer and makes the scenes all the more shocking.
Character Development
Garland's characters are complex and multi-dimensional, reflecting the gray areas of morality that the film seeks to explore. The protagonist (Kristen Dunst - LeeSmith), portrayed with nuanced intensity by an as-yet-undisclosed lead actor, embodies the struggle for survival and integrity in a world where the lines between right and wrong are increasingly blurred. Supporting characters (Wagner Moura - Joel / Cailee Speany - Jessie / Stephen McKinley Henderson - Sammy) add depth to the narrative, each representing different responses to the societal collapse—some succumb to fear and hatred, while others strive to find a semblance of humanity and hope.
The interactions between characters are where Garland's script truly shines. Dialogue is sparse but impactful, often leaving much unsaid, which adds to the tension and the viewers' engagement.
Impact and Conclusion
"Civil War" is not just a film; it is a commentary on the state of our world. Garland's cautionary tale challenges viewers to reflect on their own beliefs and the direction in which our society is heading.
In conclusion, "Civil War" by Alex Garland is a compelling and thought-provoking film that deserves attention and discussion. Its exploration of societal collapse is really interesting. As we navigate through increasingly turbulent times, Garland's film serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of unity, empathy, and vigilance.
Trigger warning : the character with the pink glasses is the worst of all, in my opinion.

Thanks for tagging @lilgreyarea! It took me a while to figure this out 😂 So I'm just going for a list of movies that I can watch again and again.
ten movies i love
1. Inception (2010) Tom Hardy in a posh accent and patterned shirts.
2. Captain America and the Winter Soldier (2014) The movie that started it all.
3. Top Gun Maverick (2022) Miles Teller's moustache. And the story was alright too.
4. The Darjeeling Limited (2008) I watched it on the plane - the screen was small and I could barely hear any dialogue but it was so beautifully shot and my first Wes Anderson movie. I just love family drama, and train movies.
5. Sense and Sensibility (1995) Prime Emma Thompson, and she wrote the script too. Great Jane Austen adaptation. It was Ang Lee, so of course it was beautiful.
6. Skyfall (2012) My favourite Daniel Craig bond movie. It's just very tight and well paced. Ben Whishaw as Q. Big love. It also has Adele, so.
7. Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002) It has Rohan and Helm's Deep, and a great quote: "toss me". I'd pick LOTR trilogy but I feel like that'd be cheating.
8. Emma (2020) Another amazing Jane Austen adaptation. Anya Taylor-Joy was...a joy to watch. Amazing colours.
9. God's Own Country (2017) Lovely. Romantic. Two men finding love amongst fluffy sheep with a with the Yorkshire moors as a backdrop.
10. Bridget Jones' Diary (2001) It has one of the best fight scenes in a rom com (if you know you know). It has Hugh Grant and Colin Firth - what else do you need?
Tagging: @joohoneybeee @film-in-my-soul @fourtacosandaburrito @icemav86 @glitterisblue @yikes-00 @cristinuke @renai-chan @greendaze @yoonsos22 @patbbangg @johanirae or whoever wanna do this!

Cast: Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Josh Helman, Nathan Jones, Zoë Kravitz, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Riley Keough. Screenplay: George Miller, Brendan McCarthy, Nick Lathouris. Cinematography: John Seale. Production design: Colin Gibson. Film editing: Margaret Sixel. Music: Tom Holkenborg.
If only all action movies could be directed by George Miller and edited by Margaret Sixel. Then we might have fewer scenes shot in the dark with shakycam and patched together out of snippets of film so you can't really tell who's fighting whom. Or much less gratuitous use of CGI in scenes where actual hardware provides greater immediacy than software can ever do. Miller and Sixel are one of the movies' great husband-and-wife teams, and it's gratifying that Mad Max: Fury Road was one of the few action movies to receive a nomination for best picture. I've never been much of a fan of the Mad Max series, but this one, the fourth, seems to me to be the best and most coherent. It has the kind of visual storytelling that takes you back to the silent roots of the movies. It also features, in Charlize Theron's Furiosa, the best female action hero since Sigourney Weaver's Ripley in Aliens (James Cameron, 1986). It didn't win the best picture Oscar: It's not the kind of film the Academy admires, preferring action movies that are wrapped in history, like Lawrence of Arabia (David Lean, 1962), or sanctified by religiosity, like Ben-Hur (William Wyler, 1959). Fury Road is sheer enjoyable nonsense, with an abundance of grotesque villains and some heroes who, with the exception of Tom Hardy's Max and Nicholas Hoult's Nux, happen to be women. Although Miller didn't win for best director, Sixel deservedly won the Oscar for editing and it cleaned up in the awards for costumes, makeup, sound and production design.

► HEADCANONS/FUN FACTS
-Peter B. Parker of Earth-90214, is not a Scientist, unlike the other versions of himself. If you handed the man anything relating from calculus, to geometry, to even the simplest version of the periodic table; he would just hand it back to you, and explain that it isn’t anything he gets. Now, whether you’d like to believe that it was because he was never exposed to it growing up, that the time he lived through just meant a lot of the wildly taught information of the 20th century hadn’t even been discovered yet, or the fact that a poor kid who didn’t have a single friend on the Lower East Side wanted nothing to do with the high-intensity social hierarchy that is school at any learning level.
Now, with that in mind, there’s something else important to note. That being, his relationship, thoughts, and views on the entity he refers to as, the “Spider-God.” So, while he’s never been a scientist, beyond a few cultural aspects of his upbringing, he was never religious either. He knew that people around him prayed to all sorts of Gods, that it brought them comfort, a way to see a path down the road to something brighter, family in the others that viewed the same way or agreed that all ways of seeing the light to a better world was right, it was… It wasn’t for him, though. There was always a nagging feeling in the back of his head, even from a young age, that seeing something was the only thing to get him to believe in it. He could see that people felt they had been met with a powerful force, but it never got to the coldness of his reality for him to join in their beliefs. But, he did see that there were problems in the world. He saw that putting your trust in people, people putting their trust in you, going along with things without questioning it; it got you hurt. Without facts, without evidence he could touch, see, smell, hear, hell- Taste, it wasn’t for him.
Then, he watched as someone opened something, unearthed a force that should’ve been unearthed again. Revealed to the night sky after what should’ve been an eternity, was instead only a couple of centuries. Peter had proof that day that things unnatural did exist. He could accept that. Then, the thousand legged, blacker than an lightless expanse, suffocating force of a little bug… Bit another man. At the time, he didn’t know fully what that man had done in his life to deserve the piercing screams that howled from his lungs, the foam that ripped his mouth into separate halves as it poured from his throat, and sent him falling to the ground; but, Peter guessed it was enough.
He knew that even a little bug could kill a man in an instant. A fact, now that he had seen it… Then, it bit him… After that, when he pulled himself from inky black webs he had been encased in during a brief moment of unconsciousness, he accepted that supernatural forces had to be real. He met one. It was shaped like a Spider that was larger than a tank, thousands of teeth each bigger than his entire body, eyes the size of his head that devoured every inch of his form until he was left with nothing else, a voice that could shake cities until they crumbled down; and, it said it’d curse him with great power for not being of evil intent. Sure, it could’ve been a hallucination. But, when those same webs can expel themselves from his wrist, and it crawls back to him in his dreams every night to remind him of a deal he never shook on? Gods are real. Maybe not the ones everyone has been saying were, but a few had to be.
-A slightly more fun fact, still related to the last, is that his body makes his webs! Unlike most other spider people, his webs come out of his arm in an inky black, similarly sticky, yet slimy texture. He also, still setting himself from the other Peters, doesn’t often swing on his webs. Originally, he never even tried, letting the ends slide through his grasp to wrap his opponents up while traveling the city on foot in his own version of web-crawling parkour. However, realizing that there were better ways to use everything he had, he learned how to instinctively grab the ends when he wanted to and sling himself across the city.
-Noir, a name that (will be) given to him by the various people in the new world he’s ended up in, sounds extremely similar to Humphrey Bogart! And, while this is a secret he keeps to himself, he actually did use that man’s films to practice for the voice he put on during the night- While, also, generally trying to match his bass in his day-to-day life! While then, it was a bit silly, it does set himself apart quite strangely from the way people talk in the current day and age of the 2020s.
-HE IS FROM THE 1930s-1950s. HE WAS NOT AROUND FOR A LOT. He knows nothing about Civil Rights, the fact being gay is no longer explicitly illegal, what LGBTQIA+ stands for beyond that a couple are vowels, and several, several, several other things. (He does implicitly support everything already listed, he just… Does not know it happened, or exists.) Although, he also missed out on a lot of technological improvements. The fact man went to the moon, computers in general, portable phones, the internet, OSHA guidelines and regulations- Hell, while he ran into some people that might be considered mutants on this Earth, that word didn’t exist where he came from! He got his powers from a “God”, and (something he knows nothing about) the only two other people with actual powers seem to be Daredevil and Black Cat. So, he is… BEHIND.
Also, he has begun to learn how to use a computer, abusing the one at the local library with random people often coming up to him thinking he’s an old man in distress… He is, but they think he’s either a lot older, or a bit more fucked up than he is.
-He smokes. I refuse the idea of a world where a man who lived through what he has wouldn’t pick up a horribly unhealthy habit in the climate of how cigarettes were spoken of during the time he lived. No. He smokes cigarettes, he drinks whiskey, neat, and makes horrible decisions for his body; although, due to the aforementioned curse from what he lovingly refers to as a god, it doesn’t do much but whittle down his psyche no matter how much good Peter claims it does. He also drinks a horrible amount of coffee to stay awake late into the night on dire investigations. Managing those three addictive substances would be impossible for most men, and utterly unfeasible for him as well. Although, due to the blind commitment and forgetfulness to remember his own body while seeking the newest justice for the people he has put everything on the line for, he often can still go numerous nights without the buffeting smoke of cigarettes, the drowning cascades of alcohol, or the wirey edge of caffeine strangling the sensible part of his brain begging for sleep; before noticing it’s been that long without it, and pulling another flask or pack from his jacket. This was also before he was pulled into the modern day, and should not be offered or referred to energy drinks of any kind. He won’t die, if bullets or the other things hurdling him to an early grave wouldn’t do him in either, but it won’t be a pretty sight. He might find another God, unrelated to the one he’s already entangled in the web of, and challenge it to a fist fight. Possibly winning.
-He has killed one man, the Vulture, for killing Uncle Ben and attempting to do the same to Aunt May. He has shot several, and carries around both Uncle Ben’s gun on him at all times, and two m1911s. While the m1911s sit comfortably in two hip holsters, rarely needing more than the one on his right, the pistol he stole from the chest of Uncle Ben’s war memorabilia sits tightly behind his vest. Noir doesn’t aim to kill often, agreeing with most that not everyone should die, but has found himself… Struggling, at times, to keep it leveled where it’d hurt.
-Along with everything said above, and what might be futurely said below (hi future!) there is something I would like you to watch, if you have the time and you've made it this fair! This video, the original inspiration for what got to me to write Spider-Man Noir with Nicolas Cage doing the heavy lifting after, I feel like is an incredibly real, albeit extremely ruthless, representation of what his fighting style would progress into in his later years after literal decades of practice. I also just think the video is fun, interesting, and should be viewed by more people so they hopefully make more and work on bigger projects!
Favorite Type of Music
-Due to the poverty and low income life he lived his childhood in, most of his time was spent helping his Aunt at the community center she ran serving and making soup for the people in their area who did similarly or worse than them. He also spent similar, or even moreso, time helping his Uncle with almost anything he needed. From running errands for his Aunt with him in a beat up old truck that barely ran, to fixing the truck, to plumping, remodeling, and construction jobs around various apartments in the area for little cash or donations to their center to keep it running, and sometimes just playing with the other kids on their street; Peter had very little moments of ingesting music. There were snippets he can barely remember in his early years of catching a radio (Although, he preferred crime dramas) with something on, or seeing some men play instruments on the street for change, never entire bands. However, when he got older, either during vigilante work or the very little amount of high-end places he got in as a photographer or detective for a specific case, he did run into many Big Bands! Jazz Musicians, the collection of either multiple groups or just one that came like that, stuffed on a single stage in a cacophonous harmony of ear catching rhythm! And, while he was always on a mission or found them shutting off quickly upon his arrival, he did tap his feet while trying horrendously to dance on a blue moon. But, the day he got a TV and his own radio, he… Mostly kept them off, because he was busy.
Favorite Color
-You’d assume that the man, decked in head to toe in blacks, whites, all manners of gray, and the various shades of brown upon all of his clothes from the years of toiling in the exact same ones from day to night with rare washings would grow a fondness of those colors over others… And, you’d be right. His childhood was spent in clothes that often went an entire week or more being recycled without even touching any water apart from the droplets of rain or a puddle splashed on him by a passing car, his adulthood was spent in the shadows hugging dank walls until the moment to strike, and the sun rarely found him in the latter years as well; hard to be fond of the sun’s yellow gaze, when you never see it in your days.
Least Favorite Food
-Anything you need a “refined” and “rich” pallet to enjoy. He’s not looking to waste his cash on something that he has to stomach through, since everyone else says it's great. He’s fine eating burgers, eggs and ketchup, coffee, and egg creams until he dies. If you put a snail on his plate, he’ll look at you like you’re mad, and ask you why the hell you spent your money on it.
Biggest Pet Peeve
-The Rich. No, that’s the end of the thought, you’re not missing anything. Even if it wasn’t because he was raised on socialist ideals and strongly believes in them himself, a man with the sense like his can tell when a system is broke, and he sees that it is. They’re taxed the same as the working class, some of them never working a day in their life, can ignore the problems that they speak to want to fix because they never have to live in it, they funnel any money that is put to be spent wisely back into their own pockets with ease and without stoppage- They could kill a man dead in the streets, drag his corpse in their hand for a mile, and if they happen to have enough in their wallets not a damn thing will happen about it! If the system that is currently in place has easy fixes for rich people to piss away money they frankly don’t need, to pay less taxes that goes to the entire country for- What’s supposed to be good fucking use but doesn’t seem like it is- THEN THE SYSTEM IS BROKE!
It isn’t me, I swear, it's Peter that’s the socialist.
Greatest Fear
-Being ineffective. He doesn’t fear death, pain, suffering, ending up on a hospital bed for the rest of his life, or finding that his leg will never heal and he needs to lose it; none of that scares him. Peter fears the idea of living to see every avenue he’s pursued, every man he’s tried to stop, every way he’s tried to protect people, fail and gets worse while his body slowly decays. He stays awake at night thinking about the idea of him, in his bed, lying still, old age slowly dragging him into whatever lies next; and, being unable to stop it, yet still able to watch the city he only wanted to protect burn around him in the devilish fires of greed.
Best Friend
-None that are alive, or have enough self-awareness to be counted as such anymore.
Worst enemy
-Peter doesn’t have a worse enemy, because he’s killed all the ones who could count. The Vulture, the man that killed his Uncle Ben, was shot dead while he was trying to rip and tear his teeth into Aunt May. The Goblin was pulled away into a sewer tunnel by the body of Kraven piloted by dozens of spiders to, what Peter only guesses, to be his doom. Everyone else? Either in jail, unable to fight him anymore, or done with trying.
Favorite Holiday
-Thanksgiving. The community center his Aunt runs always gets the most donations around that time of the year, and sets up a giant feast for even more than the regulars to come in. It's… Nice. The one time of year he doesn’t have to worry as much, since everyone he cares about is around him. He just gets to breathe, smile, eat, and slowly realize that people who were there last time aren’t this year.
Favorite Animal
-Well, at this point, if he doesn't say Spiders or Cats someone is going to get mad at him.
Birthday
-August 27th, 1914. If he never was ripped from his own reality into the year of the Earth he is currently on and, instead, lived all of those years; he'd be 112.

INGHAM LEADS SWAMP RABBITS TO BIG WIN
Ingham stops all but one to lead four multi-point scorers against RushBy: Mark Binetti, Greenville Swamp RabbitsGREENVILLE, S.C. – Jake Stevens, Ben Freeman, Anthony Beauchamp (G, Ast each), and Tanner Eberle (2ast) helped build an early lead for the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, but Jacob Ingham maintained the separation with 34 saves on 35 shots to beat the Rapid City Rush 5-1 on Thursday night. The Swamp Rabbits came out guns blazing in the first period, carrying a 3-0 lead into the dressing room. Anthony Beauchamp started the scoring entries with a slick backhander from the right side that squeaked by Rush goalie Matt Radomsky, giving the Swamp Rabbits a 1-0 lead at 5:48 of the first (Tanner Eberle had the lone assist). Moments later, Austin Saint notched his second professional goal in the last three games, firing home an east-west pass from below the goal line from JD Greenway to double the Swamp Rabbits lead to 2-0 with 9:14 left in the first (Greenway and Jake Stevens assisted). Swamp Rabbits Captain Ben Freeman ended the first-period scoring run with a point-blank redirect of a Joe Leahy pass, roofing it over Radomsky and tripling the Swamp Rabbits advantage to 3-0 with 3:17 left in the opening frame (Leahy and Eberle assisted). Jacob Ingham, net-minder of the Swamp Rabbits, stopped all 12 Rush shots he saw on the net in the first 20 minutes. Two more goal scorers added their names to the ledger in the second frame, beginning with Jake Stevens. At 7:05 of the second period, Stevens came in off the blue line and fired the puck off of Radomsky, but then it bounced off of a defender and trickled over the line, giving the Swamp Rabbits a 4-0 lead. Brannon McManus took a page out of his Captain’s book and redirected an Anthony Beauchamp pass from the top of the crease to blow open the Greenville advantage to 5-0 with 8:28 left in the frame (Beauchamp and Josh McKechney assisted). The fifth gal prompted the removal of Radomsky from the Rush net, which Jason Pawloski manned for the remainder of the game. Ingham stood tall again, denying another nine shots for 21 saves through 40 minutes. The Swamp Rabbits desperately held on to try and help Ingham get the shutout he deserved, but the Rush thwarted it in the final minute. With 55.4 seconds left in the game, Blake Bennett rifled the puck past Ingham on a one-timer to get Rapid City on the board, bringing the final score to 5-1 (James Hardie had the lone assist). Jacob Ingham was sensational in net, stopping all but one of 35 shots from the Rush (13-6-1-0). The Swamp Rabbits continue their three-game series against the Rapid City Rush this weekend, with game two set for Saturday, February 24th. The second game, slated for 7:05 p.m. at Bon Secours Wellness Arena, is “Military Appreciation Night,” presented by Budweiser, featuring a specialty jersey and a postgame auction.About the Greenville Swamp Rabbits … Acquired by Spire Sports + Entertainment (SS+E) in 2020, the Greenville Swamp Rabbits hockey team has provided family-friendly, live entertainment at Bon Secours Wellness Arena since 2010. 3, 4, 5, and if you've already answered one of these, pick ur favourite question to replace it :)
3. whose writing has impacted your writing style the most? (you can choose anyone! famous writer or not.)
+ ( Well, obviously Stan Lee is one of those when it comes to my influences from comics ! Tom Defalco as well, and I'm STILL finding things from my childhood that he wrote or had a part in ! Non comics wise, I always really enjoyed things like Dear America or the Hardy Boys as a child, so those I suspect play into my writing style at least somewhere . I always enjoyed historical fiction as well. Adult wise, definitely I draw a lot of influences from many different authors, too many to list !
In terms of roleplaying, I will definitely point to some of my fantastic partners who I feel have pushed me to be a better writer through threading with them!
6. is roleplaying the only writing-based hobby you have, or are there other things you like to write? (4 ANSWERED HERE )
+ ( It's my main one, but I've been dipping my toes into writing fanfiction again lately, and it's been a very positive thing for me so far ! )
5. is there a muse you really want to try? if yes: what’s stopping you?
+ ( Tough one, because I feel like if there's a muse I want to try, I usually give it a shot. Maybe Ben Reilly? )

Soulmates were not for everyone, and some considered them to be folk tales. Not everyone had someone out there for them, and most would never meet them. Yet, there was something about knowing you were tethered to someone out there that made it all possible. Anything you ever dreamed of seemed real when the prospect of having another half to share it with was real.
Yet, life didn't stop when finally found the one. And it definitely didn't stop while you were actively looking for one either.
The coffee maker in the kitchen beeped, as you walked over, clad in socks to prepare your warm coffee, which you would end up drinking cold anyway. The teaching lesson you had prepared the night before was on the counter, ready to be taught to your class as you began to slip on your vans, a signature piece in all your teaching outfits. There was something about commandeering the classroom in vans that made you feel invincible, especially when you were teaching high school alone for the first time.
When the principal, your good friend Robbie Andrews approached you about being a solo teacher, after years of working with a partner, you took up the opportunity quickly. It had been something you dreamt about for a long time, and you were finally there.
But now the nerves were showing, your hands slightly shaking at the thought of having to reel in a bunch of 9th graders in the subject of English and Writing.
Your phone pinged from the living room, as you crossed the kitchen, disconnecting your phone from the charger attached to the wall. The screen was lit with a text from your best friend, the person who had been teaching Math for as long as you had.
'Ready?'
'Ready as I'll ever be, I guess. What about you?'
'I'm already on campus, teacher meeting before class starts. Hurry up, teach!'
"Shit," you cursed out loud as you grabbed your bag, making sure everything was inside as you spilled your coffee on the floor. "Dammit!"
Placing a towel over it, you quickly cleaned it up before grabbing your keys and running out the door, going into your car, and driving as quickly and safely as you could to campus. Immediately parking, you ran across the lot to the auditorium where all the teachers were waiting, the meeting barely beginning. Skidding into a seat next to Ben, you glared at him.
"Seriously? You forgot to remind me?"
"Nah," he smirked, "I figured you wouldn't remember so I just wanted to surprise you."
"Ass."
The meeting went on as you took mental notes about protocols and welcomed the new staff for the year. As the meeting was about to conclude, the principal called everyone's attention to Ben and yourself, as he congratulated both of you on another year at the campus. Dismissing everyone, you and Ben walked to your respective classes, across the way from each other as you gave him a hug.
"You ready?" you asked him as he nodded and smiled.
"Hey, where's your coffee?" Ben asked as you frowned. "Dropped it again?"
Nodding, he sighed before smiling.
"I'll get you another, just text me your order."
"Thanks, Ben." you smiled before you both walked into your classrooms.
Sighing, you placed your items on the desk, and picked up the whiteboard marker, writing your name on the board for everyone to see. Remembering that you had made a schedule of the day, your hands pushed the pieces of paper on your desk as you gripped the schedule before beginning to write it out on the board.
That had been a suggestion you had received from a former student, and you took it to heart, knowing some students get anxious not knowing what was next on the agenda for the day.
The commotion was heard outside your classroom, as you connected your phone to the speakers, playing your favorite songs, and your laptop to the projector, as the presentation was projected for the first day.
"Let's do this."
-
The day had progressed rather quickly, as you got to know your new students in the first and second periods, having the third period to relax before getting your homeroom students, where you organized a game to play with everyone. Lunchtime couldn't come faster, as you and Ben headed over to the fast food place across the way, grabbing lunch and settling back into your classroom, making room on your now messy desk.
"So, how has it been?" he asked as you smiled.
"Good! Seems like I am connecting with them better than I was last year, that's for sure." he laughed as he remembered an incident with a student last year. "Please don't-"
"Remember when you got pied in the face that one time while you were giving the lecture on Charles Dickens?" Ben's laugh filled your classroom as you chucked a tiny container of salsa at him, as it missed and landed on the floor. "That was a classic."
"I couldn't get the whipped cream out of my cardigan after that! I think they dyed it because it only turned all my socks pink instead of cleaning it after I washed it."
"Well, at least you won't have that happening anymore." he sighed as he frowned. "Hey, have you heard anything from your soulmate recently?"
You shook your head as Ben mirrored your actions. "He's been quiet recently." sighing, you undid your ponytail and let your hair hang loose, "Maybe he stopped being such a daredevil and is being safe now, considering all the injuries I got while he was out doing some crazy stuff."
He nodded, a pondering look on his face, as he shrugged. "Mine has been quiet, she hasn't been doing much recently. But something happened today that was odd."
Tilting your head, you took a bite from your tacos as he continued.
"I could hear music in the distance and it sounded a lot like Metallica, which was odd considering the last thing I heard them play was Whitney Houston."
"Clearly, their music taste is amazing." you laughed as he nodded with a sad smile.
"I really want to see them already."
"Me too."
-
Your fourth period came around, as the students piled inside, everyone taking a seat wherever they wanted as you opened up the same presentation you did in your last classes.
"Good afternoon everyone!" they echoed your welcome as you smiled, "Alrighty, who's ready to play a game?"
They cheered as you opened up Kahoot, a classic classroom game that clearly hyped up their energy as the classroom erupted into louder cheers.
As everyone signed in, you began the game, everyone cheering and arguing when it came to certain rounds. Suddenly, your classroom door opened as you looked up, noticing a certain blonde in the doorway, holding two coffees directly from your favorite coffee shop.
"Lifesaver! Thank you!"
He smiled as you gave him a half-hug before he waved at the students and walked into his classroom.
"Miss Y/n?" a student raised their hand as you nodded, walking back to your desk and pausing the game. "Is Mr. Hardy your boyfriend?"
You chuckled and smiled, "No he isn't, we're just good friends. We've been teaching here together for a few years now."
A chorus of oohs was heard across the classroom as a blush enveloped your cheeks.
"Look! Miss Y/n is blushing!"
"Wait, guys! What about Mr. Hardy being her soulmate?" one student yelled out as everyone began agreeing, trying to connect the dots between your friendship as you watched in amusement, a blush coating your cheeks.
"Alright, alright! Let's get back to Kahoot! I have donuts for the winners!"
The chatter slowly died down, not going away completely as everyone's attention was turned back to the game, some still talking about the friendship between the two teachers.
Your mind began to wander, as the students kept playing, their words echoing in your mind. All those times you felt pain and anguish from your soulmate, Ben had mentioned getting hurt in small incidents at home, wether that be with his skateboard or practicing his drums in the music room. They seemed really distant in the moment, but looking back, you realized it was a possibility.
Having mentioned that he heard Metallica and Whitney Houston being played, you remember playing two distinct songs for your game in first period, realizing the connection was getting bigger the more you began digging into memories with Ben.
What if your best friend was your soulmate? There was only one way to find out.
They mentioned that soulmates have tattoos on their body that their other half mirror and both people share one image on their bodies. This made everyone unique from other partnerships, and you had never shown Ben yours.
Finishing the class, you dismissed everyone as the bell rang for the end of the day, everyone now piling out of classroom and into thier cars to begin the journey home, as you stayed behind, wanting to have everything organized for the next day.
"Y/n?" Ben called out as you smiled and let him come inside your class. "You ready to go?"
"Almost," you sighed as you finished placing the notebooks on the shelf you made for your students, each with their own name and class period so you can remember which one is which without needing to read chicken scratch on the front.
"Hey, Ben?" he tilted his head, "Do you still have your soulmate tattoo?"
He nodded, "Haven't seen it go anywhere just yet."
"Can I see it?"
Shocked, he gulped, before nodding. Grabbing the end of his flannel, the slipped it off his shoulders, exposing the black t-shirt adorning his torso. He sighed shakily, before pulling up the shirt, and turning around, as you let out an audible gasp.
There it was, the mirror to your own tattoo.
"Ben?"
He turned his head and locked eye contact over his shoulder.
"It's me."
Your words did not register in his mind immediately, as his eyebrows furrowed in concentration before realization hit. Eyes widening, he let the shirt drop, as he placed his hands on your waist.
"Y/n?"
You let out a breath you didn't know you were holding, as he smiled.
"We are soulmates?"
All you could do was nod, as he wrapped his arms around you, bringing you into a hug as you placed yours on his back, pulling him closer.
"God, I love you."
"I love you too."
Unbeknownst to you, your students had been standing outside the classroom, peering in through the window as they cheered silently, knowing their plan had worked.
Soulmates were hard to find, and some never end up finding their own pair, living in the world without another half.
Yet, yours was right next to you, for the last 8 years.
You couldn't ask for more.
