Okay! So I'm not entirely sure what all I've said about it...but there's going to be a moment where Esteban goes in to visit Pierre (he's in the ICU and critical, so he's only been given 5 mins to see him). And not too long after he awkwardly says "hello", Pierre codes. His heart gives out and in the flurry of nurses and doctors running in to tend to the code, Esteban isn't pushed out. He watches them resuscitate Pierre and when they get him back, he ends up on his knees being sick all over the floor. A nurse has to come tend to him, because he goes into emotional shock.

Later, Esteban is wary to go visit Pierre again because he's worried it'll happen a second time. It doesn't. He ends up pressing his fingers to Pierre's wrist and counting his pulse for a few minutes and then leaving after without a word. Pierre is still in a coma, so he's none the wiser.

Esteban has a lot of big moments in this fic, where Pierre spends 90% it unconscious. It's an interesting dynamic.

Now for the Vampire fic....that has a LOT to it 😏 but Bruno....dear oh dear. He plays a beautiful villain role with an unfortunate tie to both Pierre and Esteban. I don't want to give too much away as to Bruno's involvement, but I promise it will be interesting.

Pierre was turned in an odd way. Esteban has been a vampire for a long while and a very human heartbeat catches his attention when he's out one night. He follows it, interested as it turns from human to something not quite human...but not vampiric either. Like the body is stuck in a statis between worlds. Because it is. Esteban finds this man (Pierre) fighting to stay alive against the venom a vampire injected into him. It wasn't enough venom, though. Esteban realizes that the man will die instead of turn because of the lack of venom and makes a split second decision to save him. He bites Pierre and injects his own venom, more than enough to turn him quickly and far less painlessly.

So now Pierre has two sires, one of which neither of them know. And that strange heartbeat that was partially human and partially vampiric? It never turns fully vampiric. Pierre is a full 100% vampire but his heartbeat remains incredibly odd for...the rest of forever. Which is good and bad. Good for tracking purposes and because all the monsters in the woods cannot identify that heartbeat so they don't know what he is and are more likely to leave him alone in fear. Bad because....tracking (from bad things) and while most monsters avoid what they're frightened of, some would be very curious to know what has such an odd heartbeat. Also, fellow vampires can't identify Pierre immediately because of his heartbeat as well, so it gets a bit annoying for Pierre. Esteban quite likes his strange heartbeat. There's something quite comforting about the 3-4 sound beats.
