I’m now completely caught up on all the chapters of Candela Obscura, and I just love that male players from two out of the four Circles heard “do you want to play a cosmic horror tabletop RPG?” And immediately decided to be incredibly romantic, sopping wet pathetically in love with another player character, and having that inform most of their roleplay choices. Just. Amazing. Love seeing dudes choose to be heartsick puppydogs. It’s especially pleasant to me considering how many dudebro “fans” of Critical Role complained that Fjord wasn’t cool anymore once he multiclassed/became a paladin (and dropped his Texas Cowboy persona), and have whined like little bitch babies about Travis’ two Old Man characters in campaign 3. I thrive on how often Travis Willingham in particular chooses not to play hyper masculine cardboard cutout male power fantasy characters, in favor of dorks, wimps, and freaky little weirdos. We can always count on Liam to create a heart wrenchingly tragic character, and Taliesin to create something so random, artistic, and rare that Matt has to create a new subclass just for him, and Sam to create something out of this world weird, funny, and tragic. But traditionally handsome, masculine male players, whether legacy or new, playing Super Simps and super far out of the box fantasy characters just makes me so happy.

there rly is something so bittersweet about this ID... that little self-esteem moment about his career in uptie chatter 2, then this one with that pride he shows at times about his body & strength... and at the same time that feeling that it's all for naught. the second of hesitation when he thinks abt what in his mind could POSSIBLY be worth returning to... you need someone to share it with. even if the person who loves you isn't here you can at least show your manager who has been trying to be your friend... argh!!

Scrying, Augury, contacting other planes, clairvoyance, communing with divine entities all don't work

Teleportation circles have all been dispelled

Curses are stronger

Permanent light enchantments have been dispelled

Specifically 'old magic' enchantments have been dispelled, those thought permanent

Magically bound prisoners escaping

Petrification releasing

Magical items have not been affected by this mass dispel

Possible consequences from that

Trent, the other Cerberus mages and Caleb are no longer bound

The prison under Xhorhas has been fucked up, as has the Vault under the Platinum Sanctum in Vasselheim which includes the horn of Orcus and other terrifying magical artifacts

Hallow and other such protective longstanding enchantments are fucked, ie most temples and the blooming grove?

Ryn is no longer petrified

The binds on ukatoa and other such entities are released or in the process of being weakened? (also the divine gate is being weakened?)

Halas is free from his gem?

The mages in Aeor that were kept in stasis are now free

The binds on Vecna are released?

Is that it? Have I missed anything
