so like. I've never really read sobh properly right? since I wasn't super active with the fandom when was being released, and today I have some free time so I've started reading my physical copy. and i was going to try & not post about every little detail because it's A Lot but in the very first letter there's this

"I at last have Jem as my living family history. Jules doesn't have anyone like that" well. about that 💀

idk I think about this all the time, since it's so strongly hinted that the Blackthorns are Lucie and Jesse's descendants and thus Tessa's. with Jace, Tessa kept her distance until he sought her out after Simon figured it out but she's literally taking family photos with Julian and he has no clue.... like I do wonder what going to happen in twp when it inevitably comes to light. because me personally? I would be having a nuclear level crash out 😭

Emma is the last person to judge because in Los when she finds all the old photos the way she describes them is so funny because she essentially goes "oh that guy's got dark hair. that one's blond. and there's Tessa with an incredibly attractive man who must be The Will Herondale duh"

I know this is because it came out before chot, but it extremely funny that Jem uses brother (singular) here since presumably the brother he's snubbing is Zachary. who’s yknow, Emma's great great grandfather and also named after him

extremely random observation but in Tessa's diary she always refers to Julian first and then Emma (Julian and Emma, never Emma and Julian). idk I feel like other people flipped between the two but she never does

Julian doodling on the quote the faerie builders gave him is so cute omg. also it's so fitting for a random headcanon I have where Emma & the twin find out Julian's been running the Institute alone & in secret so they all take over different things (whether he agrees or not lol) and Livvy starts doing all the bookkeeping. like for the first time in years the books are balanced because Julian's been winging it (doodling on the pages more that writing numbers) and the only reason no one's said anything is because it was an improvement from what Arthur was (or wasn't) doing. she also gets on his ass for spending a ridiculous amount of money on things like out of season grapes <3
