BOTD: Bell's Sparrow

"Formerly considered part of the same species as the Sagebrush Sparrow, this bird is locally common in sage scrub habitat near the California coast and locally in open habitats of the interior. It is often seen running about on the ground, with its longish tail cocked up above the level of its back; when perched up on a shrub, it twitches its tail in a down-up motion like a phoebe."

The Initial Issue

Jack Sparrow wandered through the Guardian Quarters of Mirrorforge Castle, his mind preoccupied with thoughts of treasure. As he turned a corner, his boot nudged something on the floor. Looking down, he spotted a beautifully crafted envelope addressed to ‘J. S.’

With a smirk, he picked it up. “Ah, looks like I’ve got a secret admirer,” he said, waving the letter in front of Jack Skellington.

Jack Skellington tilted his head, his skeletal grin widening. “J. S. are my initials too, Captain Sparrow.” His heart leaped with a flicker of hope. "Could it be from Sally?" he asked as he delicately took the letter, examining it closely.

"Or it might be from Elizabeth. I always knew our kiss meant something,” Jack Sparrow mused.

Before they could ponder further, Sulley walked in and spotted the letter. “Oh, hey guys, that letter is actually for me,” he said with an awkward chuckle.

Both Jacks turned to him in unison, surprise evident on their faces. “You’re J. S.?” they asked simultaneously.

Sulley nodded, a bit sheepishly. “Yeah, my name is James Sullivan. I thought you guys knew that.”

“Ooooh!” they chorused, realization dawning.

Jack Sparrow’s curiosity piqued, and he eagerly leaned in. “Who’s the letter from, then, mate?”

Jack Skellington, equally intrigued, added, “Yes, do tell us, Sulley.”

Sulley started to get shy, rubbing the back of his neck. “I don’t know,” he mumbled, trying to walk away.

Jack and Jack exchanged knowing glances, narrowing their eyes. Jack Skellington whispered, “He knows who it is.”

Jack Sparrow nodded. “I know his lying face, and that was his lying face.”

With a swift move, they rushed past Sulley, blocking the exit. “Who’s sending you these letters?” Jack Sparrow demanded.

Jack Skellington stepped closer, his skeletal hand resting on Sulley’s shoulder. “Monster to monster, tell me who it is.”

Sulley sighed, realizing he couldn’t keep the secret any longer. “They’re from Belle—we write each other letters sometimes,” he admitted.

Both Jacks’ smirked, pleased with their discovery. As Sulley pushed past them, trying to escape their inquisition, they followed him out, bombarding him with all kinds of questions about his not-so-secret admirer.

Notes:

This scenario popped into my head after I received an ask about Jack Sparrow and Jack Skellington being buds because they share the same first name. Then it dawned on me that they also have the same initials. And to top it off, so does Sulley!

Anywhoodle, I hope you enjoyed my little story. The next one will be about a certain Ice Storm Elemental and Heavy Hitting Cowboy.

Oh, and there is no Mirrorforge Castle in Disney Mirrorverse canon—it's just something I made up because I feel there should be a castle at the center of Mirrorforge where the guardians hang out together.

S2 for the Monster au would be harder. Considering dealing multiple realms and the doodler but if I had to assign monsters for the teens off the top of my head. Scary-Banshee, Normal-Half Harpy Half-Mimic?, Lincoln is hard to pin down but maybeeeeeee like. a Frankenstein esc. creature?? Or a water spirit bc if the Titanic, and Taylor being a demon but he's half human in the other way ( maybe a little bit of scales from Glenn tossed in for the flavor) OR MAYHAPS...IMP DRAGON THING????????

Robin cornered Belle when she least expected it. He just needed to make one more enemy and she was the perfect sim.

"Hey Belle, guess what," Robin said.

Belle immediately looked suspicious, remembering all of the stupid pranks Robin used to pull when they were still living together.

"What?" she asked.

"You're as dull as a loading screen," Robin insulted her.

"Why are you such a plumbob?" Belle groaned, looking more annoyed than hurt. "And you're doing this with your child around? What kind of example are you setting?"

"Your fashion sense is worse than a randomly generated townie's," Robin continued.

"Are you done?" Belle sighed. "Watcher, this Chief of Mischief aspiration is getting old real quick."
