Note
what’s your favorite raised as sith obikin head canons?
Hello, anon!
This a good question! I don't usually have hc about specific AUs or I do but I'm shit at wording them lol
That being said, I spent like four hours in a car today so I thought a bit about what I like to see in raised as sith obikin AUs
For raised as Sith Obi-Wan, I like him being immediately interested in Anakin! Maybe it's because I love Clem (obiwanobi)'s Sith Senator Kenobi but the idea of Sith Obi-Wan raised all his life to hate the Jedi and then immediately falling for the disaster one and stealing Sidious's apprentice from under his nose is hilarious to me (especially if he's not even Palpatine's apprentice but Dooku's and Dooku is aging twice as fast due to Obi-Wan's shenanigans against Palps lol)
For raised as Sith Anakin, my first hc would be that he's only Vader when he's raised by Palps. If the story ahs another Sith master, then the name would be another one (like in my raised as Sith Anakin AU where Sith Shmi was the one naming him). Of course, I can accept Vader from another Sith master if the reason Anakin is falling is the same than the one in ROTS but I think it would be a bit covoluted to go with that naming convention lol. So I usually associate Sith Name with the master (this would apply to other sith apprentices, say Dooku or Maul would have different sith names if like, Yoda had been the Sith master)
The thing I like for Sith Anakin in this kind of AUs is the curiosity he feels for Obi-Wan and the Jedi. He sees they are nothing like he has been taught and he wants to be part of your world that community.
Also, him being bemused by Obi-Wan flirting with him, and even a bit shy about the whole thing as well.
On Obi-Wan's part, I love him being curious about Anakin as well, and also, I think he's the very personification of the "I can fix him" meme in this kind of AUs. Or not fix him but he wants to help.
In general, if Anakin is being redeemed or coming back to the light, I like exploring how it works without Luke being directly involved but while keeping him in some way (mostly because of what I explained here) I don't mind him not being part of it in other AUs since I realise that Luke's role is also tied to his own character arc and the reason Anakin fell and a lot of other meta reasons I won't go into right now but yeah, in my own writing I try to have him involved in some way.
Also, as a character in these AUs, Anakin hates Dooku on principle. He considers him the weak Sith as Palps snatched him from the Jedi while Anakin was raised as one. Anakin firmly thinks HE is the real apprentice and the only reason he's not taking Dooku out is because his master needs him.
He's not particularly fond of Maul either but he recongnises that they are the same in that sense, with Maul having been raised as Sith too.
Uhhh that's all I think? They are mostly headcanons I like for my own writing, not something I would stop reading a fic for (I love raised as sith Anakin AUs a lot)
Thank you for asking! I hope these work for you!

Things I Would Change if I Could Rewrite Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker
Last Jedi
Everything is the same until Ben kills Snoke
Rey begs Ben to come with her but he refuses, not because he doesn’t want to, but because he feels he can’t leave the control of the First Order in the hands of Hux.
He helps Rey escape and tells her that he will do his best to give the Resistance time to escape.
Ben confronts Luke just like in the movie, but instead of fighting him out of anger, Ben and Luke pretend to fight to buy the Resistance more time.
While they are fighting, Luke apologizes to Ben for not being a better master and for giving in to his fears. He tells Ben that he doesn’t deserve to be Rey’s master and that she deserves to have someone who will train her not to fear the darkness inside her.
Finally, Luke urges Ben to finish his father’s and Ben’s grandfather’s mission to bring balance back to the Force, not by eliminating the Darkness but accepting that it is part of life.
Luke tells Ben to pretend to kill him since his Force Ghost is fading. Luke’s body fades into the Force.
Ben and Hux find the Resistance abandoned. Ben/Kylo pretends to be angry.
Hux is clearly suspicious of Ben/Kylo but without proof, he is unable to confront him.
Rey rescues the Resistance. She tells Leia that Ben saved her and the rest of the Resistance
“You saved us, Rey.”
“It wasn’t me.”
The movie ends with Snoke’s funeral. As Ben and the First Order watch his body burn, Ben takes a sigh of relief. The dark voices that have been haunting and terrorizing him since he was a child are finally gone. He slowly starts to walk back to his quarters when Palapatine’s laugh stops him in his tracks.
Rise of Skywalker
The movie opens with Finn’s and Poe’s mission on the Falcon, but it is just a supply run and there is no mention of a spy. The merchant runs up the price last minute with the reason, “Who else is going to sell to you?” Finn reluctantly pays up. (This is supposed to serve as a reminder that the Resistance is running out of allies.)
Rey is introduced mediating, but instead of trying to reach the other Jedi she is trying to reach Ben. Their force bond has been silent since Ben helped her escape.
Rey is furious that Ben is shutting her out.
Rey and Leia talk. Leia tells Rey not to worry about Ben, that he has always been able to take care of himself, even as a child. Leia tells he Ben has always been independent and that he shuts people out to protect himself.
Still angry, Rey goes to train. She angrily swings her lightsaber but freezes when she hears a man laughing through the Force, urging her to give into her rage. (It’s Palpatine, but she doesn’t know this). She accidentally drops a tree on BB-8  (Because that whole Poe/Rey interaction was gold!)
Finn and Poe still argue with Rey about how she is doing nothing but train instead of being out there fighting. She tells them that she doesn’t want to make it difficult for Ben. She didn’t want to have to put into a position again to chose between her and his mission. They make bitter comments about how if Ben is good now, why is he still attacking them. They imply that Ben is using Rey. Rey gets mad at them and walks away without answering.
Ben/Kylo and Hux are shown walking to greet a landing ship on the new First Order starbase. Hux questions Ben/Kylo about this sudden new ally. Ben/Kylo tells him that he doesn’t know more than him.
The doors of the ship open and Sith soldiers walk out followed by a cloaked figure.
The cloaked figure walks up to Ben/Kylo and Hux.
“It is an honor to meet the grandson of Darth Vader. I see you inherit his strength, let us hope you didn’t inherit his weakness too”
The cloaked figure pulls back his hood to reveal a young clone of Palpatine. (Played by Matt Smith)
Rey is asleep and is awakened by a bond forming between her and Ben. Rey is excited to see Ben again but is also furious that he has been shutting her out. He apologizes and tells her that he had to. Hux had been raising questions about him and he needed to focus on playing the part of Supreme Leader.
“So, I distract you?”
“Very much so,” Ben slips. Rey smiles.
Ben tells Rey that she needs to focus. He tells her that Palpatine cloned himself and he just told him and Hux the location of the Resistance’s hidden base. Ben urges Rey to get the Resistance out as soon as possible since he can’t stop Hux’s attack.
Rey again begs Ben to join them, but he again refuses. He tells her that he can’t leave until Palpatine reveals his whole plan to him. They will need this information if they want to have a chance at defeating him.
Rey fully wakes up and alerts the whole base.
With the heads start, the Resistance escapes. Poe is badly injured while escaping. Rey heals him and then passes out. (Baby Yoda style).
While she is out, she is once again bonded with Ben. She sees Hux confront him about his suspicions. He tells Ben he knows he had been helping the Resistance and that he has security footage of him killing Snoke. Ben fights the Knights of Ren and almost wins until the Young Palpatine shows up and restrains him.
Palpatine uses lightning to torture Ben. Ben pleads with Rey through their bond not to try to rescue him. Rey’s bond is broken when Palpatine looks right at her as if he knows that she is there.
Rey wakes up completely panicked. She tells Finn, Poe, and Leia that Ben has been discovered and that he needs her help.
They stop her from running off to find him. They convince her that she needs to rest some more and that they will work out a plan to rescue Ben when they have the resources to do so. Leia is broken up that her son is in danger, but her practical side wins out. (Rey pretends to listen to them and then sneaks out later that night to steal a ship).
Finn, Poe, Chewie, and BB-8 are already in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon. They knew she was going to try to sneak away and reluctantly agree to help her rescue Ben because she is going to do it anyway.
Poe tells them that he knows someone that could help them break into the First Order ship.
They go to Kijimi and run into Lando while trying to escape some Stormtroopers.
Chewis is captured. Rey gets upset again and uncontrollably shoots lightning while trying to rescue him. Chewie gets hit accidentally and Rey freaks out. An injured Chewie is brought aboard the First Order ship.
Lando helps make a distraction so that Poe can lead the rest of them to Zorii Bliss and Babu Frik’s workshop.
The meet D-O in Babu Frik’s workshop. BB-8 still heals him (Because I love that droid!)
Zorri gives Poe the coin to get them onto the ship. Poe is not a spice runner. Instead, he used to steal from the rich and get to the poor. Robin Hood-style. Zorri was another thief who always made fun of his need to do good.
Once onboard the First Order ship, they split up. Finn and Poe go search for Chewie while Rey tries to find Ben.
Finn and Poe find Chewie and cause a bit of trouble getting him out. This serves as enough of a distraction for Ben to free himself. (Throwback to Rey using the Force to get the Stormtroopers to free her in the first movie).
Finn and Poe rescue Chewie with help from D-O. Turns out he is a hacking droid.
Rey’s Force sense leads her the wrong direction. She is led straight to Palpatine. He shuts the door behind her.
Palpatine reveals her past to her. He tells her that she is the daughter of one of the original Palpatine's clones that developed free will and escaped from the other clones. (The clones called each other brothers and the original Palapatine father).  Palpatine hides the fact that he had himself cloned by telling everything his wife died in childbirth. The Palpatine family was very rich and powerful on Naboo until the fall of the Empire with the death of Death Vader. Rey’s family had to go into hiding with no money or contacts because people wanted revenge on the Palpatine family.
Palpatine shows Rey a vision of her parents. Her father looks exactly like the Young Palpatine before her. Their house is attacked by a group of ex-Rebels soldiers (The combination of no longer have a war to fight, having no family to return to, and the need for revenge for everything they lost) They believe Rey’s father is a son of Palpatine.
Rey’s father tries to hold them off while Rey’s mother escapes with her. Her father is killed.
Rey’s mother hides her on a smuggler’s ship before leading the soldiers off in the opposite direction. She is then killed.
The smuggler’s ship takes off. A man and women find Rey hidden in their cargo. They think she is an orphan or some beggar's child who threw her away. They raise her as an employee before selling her to Ukar Plutt. Rey believes they were her parents because of the memory of her parents dying was too traumatic for her young mind to remember.
Palpatine tells her that Ben knew about her past this whole time and that he purposely withheld it from her because he knew it would turn her dark.
This is where she has the vision of the dark version of herself. She sees herself become a Sith apprentice. Palpatine tells her that she cannot escape her own fate. That she will join him and that she will rule with him as his heir.
Finn, Poe, Chewie, BB-8, and B-O get cornered by Stormtroopers. Ben rescues them. using the Force.
“Where’s Rey?”
“We thought she was with you!”
Chewie roars angrily in Ben’s face
“I know, Chewie.” Ben’s voice breaks.
Chewie hugs him.
“This a lovely family reunion, but in case you forgot we are still on a First Order ship about to be captured again,” mocks Poe.
Ben reaches out to Rey to tells her that he is safe but senses her being overcome by the darkness. Rey confronts Ben about knowing about her past. He admits that he knew and tells her that he was just trying to protect her. Rey is still furious and confused. She tells him that she can’t resist the darkness. She wants revenge for what happened to her parents and for her lost childhood.
Ben tries to talk her down, but she completely freaked out.
“Rey, if there is anyone who understands the draw to the dark side It’s me. Please tell me where you are and I will help you.”
“No one can help me.” She cuts off their bond. “I can’t fight what is inside of me.
Rey steals a First Order ship and runs away to Ahch-To
Heartbroken Ben tells the others that Rey left without them and then helps them escape.
D-O does more hacking to help them escape
Finn: “I like this droid!”
Ben and the gang flee to the Falcon. Poe and Ben fight over piloting the Falcon. Chewie is too injury to fly.
“Excuse me? What do you think you are doing?”
“This is my father’s ship!”
“Didn’t you kill him?”
“Poe!” Finn looked nervously at Ben. “Not the time.”
Poe and Ben bicker back and forth while they are chased by the First Order.
Finally Ben does a move to lose their chasers. Poe reluctantly mumbles, “Not bad.”
Finn and Poe tell Leia that Ben is back while he waits for her on the Falcon.
Leia finds Ben still sitting at the front of the Falcon looking blankly at the controls. He is remembering all of the times his father taught him how to fly and how much he misses him.
Ben and Leia are reunited. There are tears.
“I never gave up hope that you would return to me.”
Leia cries and hugs me. Ben shyly returns the hug.
Ben apologizes to Leia about Han. He tells her that he wishes he could take it all back. Leia apologizes for not doing more to protect him from Snoke and for sending him away in the first place.
Ben tells Leia about Rey. He tells her that he regrets not being fully honest with her and for pushing her away. Leia reassures him.
“Now, it’s all my fault. She’s out there all alone, and I can’t help her.”
“Sometimes, we make bad decisions when trying to protect the people we love. We act of fear instead of trust. All you can do is believe that they will have the strength to see past their own fears and return home.”
Leia formally introduces Ben to the Resistance command. Ben tells them about Palpatine's giant fleet of the planet destroyers. He also tells Finn about the other Stormtrooper who defected and where to find them.
Finn and Rose leave to convince the ex-stormtroopers to join their cause.
Lando and Chewie still go to find more help
Leia, Ben, and Poe discuss strategy. There is interesting back and forth because Leia treats Poe more like a son then she does Ben. Ben is jealous of their close relationship.
“Your father was the jealous type too. Don’t worry, you will always be my son.”
On Ahch-to, Rey destroys her ship and is about to throw the lightsaber into the fire when Luke appears.
Rey tells Luke that he was right about her. She can’t resist the pull to the dark side, so she must isolate herself from the people she loves so she doesn’t hurt them.
“Once again, amazing, everything you just said is completely wrong.”
Luke tells her that he was wrong about her. That she has more strength than she knows.
He tells her that she shouldn’t fear her darker self because that is what he forced Ben to do and what ultimately pushed him to Snoke. Luke tells Rey to trust her and Ben’s bond because together they form a dyad more powerful than any bond in the last century. Together they can overcome any obstacle.
Luke tells her she should want revenge for her parents’ death. But she should use that anger drive her to do better.
“Those Rebel soldiers acted out of fear. You need to do better than them and take out the forces that are really responsible.”
Luke shows her where to find Leia’s lightsaber and tells her that Ben is going to face Palpatine with or without her.
“He would probably do better with an actual weapon.”
Everything is pretty much the same as the movie. (Rey goes to face Palpatine alone. Ben still show up later and runs to rescue Rey :))
Ben gets Poe to drop him off on the planet.
“In case you forgot, you don’t have a lightsaber anymore. What are you going to do? Blast Palpatine?”
“I’ll work something out. Rey needs me.”
Leia sacrifices herself to use the Force to protect the Resistance fleet from Palpatine's lightning
There is an epic battle lightsaber battle between Ben, Rey and Young Palpatine. Palpatine uses Kylo Ren’s saber. Ben uses Leia’s saber while Rey uses Luke’s.
When Leia’s body fades into the Force, Rey is injury but still fights.
Rey and Ben defeat Palpatine together (We are all of the Jedi)
Ben heals Rey and Rey kisses him
They go back to the Resistance basis
Rey hugs Finn and Poe.
The movie ends with Rey and Ben going to Naboo to bury Luke’s and Leia’s lightsaber in their mother’s grave. They talk about starting a new Jedi Order that embraces a true balance between the dark and the light. They reveal their new lightsabers. Rey’s is yellow and Ben’s is purple.
The End

Fictober 2019
Prompt #8: "Can you stay?"
Fandom: Star Wars (Alternate Universe)
Rating: G
Warning: N/A
Author's Note: This is my first time doing an event like this. In truth, I am not even fully confident in my writing. But I believe this could serve as an opportunity to grow. So I welcome any criticism and advice that anyone can give me. And I hope you all enjoy the short story! :)
Summary: (Takes place around 2 years after ANH) After stormtroopers managed to capture Luke Skywalker on the Death Star, the boy is taken to get interrogated by Lord Vader. The Sith Lord is left reeling when he finds out that Luke is his son and hides him on Mustafar, away from the prying eyes of the Emperor, to train him in the ways of the Force. Together they fought against Sidious and defeated him, claiming the throne for his son. However, the victory did not come without its sacrifices and challenges that led to it. Luke is constantly haunted by them in his dreams and only one person can soothe the troubled boy...
**********************************
Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap.
Only the sound of his mechanical hands typing on the blue screen of the datapad echoed off the walls of his luxurious room.
The palace was sound asleep. Laying dormant and at peace to prepare for the new chaotic day that would arise tomorrow.
It was always busy in the Imperial Palace, and he remembered a time when even in the darkness of the night, politicians and officers would roam the hallways or worked diligently. But save for the soldiers who patrolled, not a single soul was awake. And Vader wasn't either.
Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap.
It was odd that despite not being Emperor, as second in command, Vader had more work than he had in the decades he served the old Empire. However, there were so many changes that still needed to be done.
Abolishing slavery in the Outer Rim; reforming and providing supplies to worlds destroyed by the previous Empire; electing the right leaders for the new galactic Senate; paying tribute to the soldiers' families on each side of the war. And the list went on and on.
Vader did not complain because all these changes were what his son desired to bring peace, and justice into the galaxy.
Ironic that his old self declared the same thing when Palpatine's empire rose into power. But unlike the past, the future held the truth.
Vader placed the datapad down, pausing slightly to relax, and glancing his head towards the door by his side. Even now, father and son slept in adjacent rooms just like when the boy stayed on Mustafar next to his personal quarters. There was peace in just knowing the other was in arms reach though they could feel each other's presence a thousand light-years away. And it was perfect when one needed to comfort the other from memories and dreams that were best left thrown down a dark abyss.
Vader slowly stretched his senses, gently probing his son's bond without disturbing the boy's sleep. But much to his surprise, the boy was not asleep, and upon feeling his presence, Luke's light squeezed needfully against his own. Fear clouded that luminous light.
Before he knew it, Vader swiftly crossed through the door and entered his son's dim lighted room, raising the brightness of the light a little more. Luke sat upon his bed, cerulean covers tossed to the floor, and his silky snow pajamas were wrinkled. The boy trembled like a leaf; his golden hair was disheveled; his eyes were unfocused, but the moment he noticed his presence, Luke's eyes cleared.
"F-Father..." Relief brimmed in the chattering voice as the panic subsided slightly. His child shakily got off the bed, tumbling his way over to him as he swayed in his steps.
Vader hurriedly met his son halfway before the boy collapsed and embraced his arms around him, Luke returning the hug wholeheartedly. His dear little son buried his face, almost wanting to merge with him to disappear from the memories that plagued the soul. And Vader welcomed such desire by hugging him tighter.
"Shhh..." Vader tenderly cradled his child's little head under his gloved palm. "It's alright, little one. I'm here... I'm here... " He held his son for what felt an eternity. Simply combing Luke's silky hair between his fingers and whispering the same mantra as a prayer that asked for peace.
And he would gladly continue to hold Luke for another eternity, but the sobs and shaking silenced.
The boy stilled, and his force presence returned to its full luminous, calmed state.
Vader carefully began to draw back the little child from his chest, believing Luke felt better to return to bed on his own, but the boy stiffened and grasped him tighter- frightful of being even a slight inch away from him.
"No-!" Luke whimpered, shaking his head pressed against the armored chest.
Vader stopped, slowly wrapping his arms around the small child again. "It's alright, little one. It's alright... I'm here..." He softly whispered to the best of his abilities to appease his son's fears.
Gradually the boy became calm, but still held no intention of letting go. Silence settled between them once more till a tiny plea reached his ears.
"Can... can you stay?" Luke quivered and raised his head slightly, his encompassing blue eyes brimming with tears. "Please... Stay with me?"
Vader's heart melted from the heartfelt plea. His soul surged with fierce parental protectiveness and the love he felt for his son multiplied further. It was during the night when haunting memories terrorized his son that he got to see another side to Luke. A younger side that made him gain an image of Luke being a tiny child rather than the adult man that he was.
Vader placed his mouthpiece on top of his tiny son's head, a familiar gesture that he made as a resemblance to a kiss. Much like he could have done should his body be free from the terrible suit. But that dream would be accomplished soon enough...
"Of course, little angel." Vader cooed back with a smile and brushed the bangs from Luke's beautiful eyes. "I'll stay with you. All night long."
And his words caused a wondrous little smile to grace the angel's face. "Thank you, Father...."
Reluctantly, Luke pulled back from his embrace but grasped onto his hand, yearning for that physical contact as he slowly led him to the bed. His son gestured him to sit down, those blue eyes now regaining some life and joy again at having his parent with him. Vader sat down on the bed, his knees no longer screeching with pain thanks to the new prosthetics he got. It was just a step closer to his full treatment and freedom of the suit.
Once seated, Luke briskly joined his father by laying down his head on his parent's lap, his legs propped on the bed, and pulling the blankets over him. The boy stared up at him, the blue eyes glistening with happiness and pure love. "Tell me a story. A happy one. About you and mother again."
Luke would always ask about the stories of him and his mother. The boy ached for them and sought him out to listen to them after long days of work as the Emperor. Or, just like in this instance, he would ask after a terrible nightmare. Anything to wipe away the images of Palpatine cutting the boy’s right arm off or the twisted men torturing him in that dark cell.
He warmly smiled in response, knowing that Luke could sense his compliance through the Force without the need to see his face. “A long time ago, in a luscious and green planet of peace, there ruled an angelic queen….”
Vader spoke long into the night, a tale of a queen fighting for peace and freedom for her people; and the fateful meeting between queen and slave boy. Luke listened closely with such blissful enjoyment as the words became images and danced inside his mind. Yet sleep warmly tugged at the corners of Luke’s mind constantly, the boy stubbornly trying to stay awake to hear his father’s tale, till his son finally gave in and closed his eyes.
The horrors of the past washed away to paint with innocence, and purity into the form of a smile. His son cuddled close to his stomach, clutching his gloved hand in his grasp. It was a beautiful image of his dear son and Vader hungrily roamed his eyes over and over to imprint it deep into his memories.
This was the reason why he continued to live.
All because of Luke...
His sweet and dear little son…
Vader stroked that smooth cheek under his thumb and shamelessly traced each detailed feature of his son’s face. So much like a parent admiring their newborn for the first time.
'I love you son... And I will always be with you.'
And as if the boy heard his father’s words, Luke smiled even brighter.

Here’s how good STAR WARS fandom has been this last month: I still have half of Queen’s Shadow to read and yet fic still manages to pull me away and distract me with all these wonderful stories! Sometimes happy and sometimes heartbreaking and sometimes just really fascinating worldbuilding, the fandom has been pretty damn amazing this month and I would like to yell about all these feelings the Star Wars fic has given me with everyone. You know how, when you’ve read a good fic, and you get that sated, lazy, warm tingly in your brain feeling because everything is just so good? That was me about a dozen different times this last month, every time I would go on a fic-reading binge and I need to share that with everyone who will listen for at least five minutes. STAR WARS FIC RECS: TIME TRAVEL RECS: ✦ I thought I fought this war alone by stonefreeak, obi-wan & qui-gon & cast, time travel, 3.7k    Obi-Wan is thirteen years old, just about to start learning Ataru from his Master. Obi-Wan is sixty-one years old, dead and one with the Force since four years back. Obi-Wan is both, and neither. ✦ Grave Accents by primeideal, anakin & leia & mace, time travel, 1.5k    In retrospect, Mace decided, it had mostly been Qui-Gon’s fault. He was measured enough not to blame the master for the entire state of affairs; after all, it was not Qui-Gon but chance or the will of the Force that had brought young Leia to Jedha. ✦ The Road Is Made By Walking by the_rck, obi-wan/luke (maybe), time travel, 6.9k    Eventually, it occurred to Obi-Wan that figuring out Luke’s motives might be some sort of test. Simply understanding that it was a test would mean accepting that Luke was a teacher. ✦ Runaway by Fairleigh, luke & shmi, time travel, 1.2k    Shmi Skywalker befriends a boy who has run away from home. PREQUELS RECS: ✦ Master by CJinn, obi-wan & anakin, 27.5k    Obi-Wan Kenobi had always wanted to become a Jedi Knight. What he didn’t expect was to become a Master merely days after his own Master died. Adapting to his new role as the mentor and Master of the quite unusual Padawan Anakin Skywalker became a bumpy road. ✦ Supreme Chancellor Obi-Wan Kenobi by stonefreeak, obi-wan & anakin & padme & palpatine & bail & cast, 6.8k wip    By an old Republic law, all members of the Jedi High Council are senators in the Galactic Senate, and can thus be voted in as chancellor. ✦ Am Bushed by SingManyFaces, obi-wan & anakin & ahsoka & rex, 1.6k    During the war, sometimes special tactics are required to make sure The Team gets the sleep it needs. ✦ A little idle talk of this and that by victoria_p (musesfool), obi-wan & iroh & aang & cast, 4k    On his way to Tatooine with Luke, Obi-Wan makes an unexpected stop for tea in Ba Sing Se. ✦ Ghosts of the Present by randomlyimagine, obi-wan & yoda & caleb & siri & plo & aayla & jedi & cast, 8.2k wip    Every single Jedi killed during Order 66 becomes a Force ghost, often before their bodies even hit the floor. ✦ The First Trial by Raven_Knight, obi-wan & qui-gon, 2k    Accompanied by his Master, Qui-Gon Jinn, young Obi-Wan Kenobi undergoes his first trial and rite as a Padawan Learner on the frozen planet of Ilum. ✦ adust by TheFreakWithTheWings, obi-wan & anakin, ~1k    adust: scorched, burned; Obi-Wan had never liked to think of himself as cruel. Practical, yes. Ruthless, sometimes. ✦ untitled by stonefreeak, anakin & ahsoka & yoda & cast, 2.7k    Returning to the Temple seems almost unreal. Despite everything going on in the galaxy, the Temple has always been a point of calm, the eye of the storm. But now when Anakin walks these familiar halls again—his second home, the one not build of sand and stone in the hottest of deserts, and not the one in an upper Coruscant apartment that smells of perfume—it seems as if the very air of it has changed. ✦ Arrival by CJinn, obi-wan & yoda & cast, 2.6k    Little Obi-Wan was only a few days old when he was brought to the Jedi Temple. His arrival caused some confusion among the Jedi. ✦ Trembling Brightness by Pandora151, obi-wan & ahsoka & cast, 2.3k    “I watched you die—twice. And I just can’t go through that again.” ✦ What Should Be by LessAttitudeMoreAltitude, mace & depa, 1.2k    Depa expresses concern about the effect this war is having on her padawan. ✦ The Song in the Soil by Ria Talla (ronia), aayla & quinlan, 3.1k    He had asked her to stay below in the ship, so she wouldn’t know where they were going, and then to wrap the cloth over her eyes before she could get a glimpse of where they’d landed. He always asked. Note
Hi Silver. So, I can't handle horror stuff(hence this is quite literally my least favorite time of year) but I'm super curious about what happens in your latest one-shot, (In the Shadow of the Woods?) and how it relates to Luke and Vader. I KNOW if I read it I'll most likely regret it! I can handle gorey stuff, but not spooky stuff. Would you be so kind as to just give me kind of an overall summary of what happens? Thanks! Love you!
Sure. No problem.
A group of college students go to a lake in the woods. It’s very secluded and remote. They got there by driving Jeeps through the woods. While relaxing at the lake, one of the kids notices a house on the side of the lake. Thinking it might be some kind haunted house, four of the kids leave in one of the Jeeps while the rest stay. However soon the kids that stayed hear screaming coming across the lake. The go and investigate and arrive in time to see one of the kids get snatched up by some shadow monster in the woods.
The monster then starts picking the kids off one by one, so the kids run into the house. While in there they find a baby with blonde hair and blue eyes asking for it’s dada. So the kids pick the baby up and take it with them as the monster continues to attack their group. Eventually it’s down to only three kids and the baby. They have made it back to the Jeep and are driving down the road away from the house.
The baby starts to get upset and cry for his dada. It changes into a white glowing monster. It is then the shadow monster arrives, rips apart the car, and collects the baby. The only surviving kid runs away from the Jeep. While running he comes across a cabin in the woods where he meets a man (Obi-Wan Kenobi). The kid, Davis, tells Obi-Wan of what happened to him and his friends.
Obi-Wan tells the story of the monster Vader:
“What you ran into was Vader. Darth Vader. An unholy horror. Some call it a demon. Others might call it a wonderterror. But monster also works.” Davis noticed the smooth accent coming from the man. It sounded European.
“I . . . don’t . . . what? You know about this thing?”
The man took a long sip of his glass.
“There once was an order of men,” the man said slowly as he stroked his auburn beard. “It was rumored they had been around since the dawn of civilization. Their current organization was hundreds of years old. Dating back to medieval times. They had been established by the church. A holy order of knights known as the Jedi. Their purpose was to protect humanity from evil.”
The man paused as he took another sip of his whiskey.
“This order continued into the modern age. It was a secret order, and their numbers were a few hundred strong all across the globe. Fourteen years ago one of the senior knights discovered a boy. He had a human mother. He himself looked human, but he was not. He was a son of Satan. But that may not be the right description. He was something else. Something more. Something from beyond. A child of the Great Old Ones. Wherever this child originated from, it is beyond our mortal comprehension.
“And the order knew this. They took the child in. They should have killed him, but they were too curious. They wanted to know more of what lay beyond their reality. The order had been able to tap into the small rifts of this world and draw power from the beyond. They called it the Force. Magic. And this boy seemed to be made from it.
“And he was just a boy. A boy who they could raise as one of them. To think like them. To dress like them. To do what they wanted him to do. A weapon. A tool. However, there were other organizations who knew of this truth of the world. One of them was the Sith. And unlike the Jedi Order who sought to protect humanity, the Sith sought to dominate it. They also used the Force, but for their own selfish means. And they wanted the boy.
“This demonic order tried to tempt the boy. They sent many dark servants to tempt him. Darth Maul. Darth Tyrannus. Ventress. Savage. They all failed. The order’s training had prevailed. The boy couldn’t be swayed away from the ones who had raised him. At least that’s what the order thought. But it was not the darkness that won the boy over. It wasn’t the holy order either. In the end, it was love.”
The man sighed. He looked off into the distance. Then he took another deep sip of his whiskey, finishing the glass off. Davis finished his off as well. He was feeling the buzz of the alcohol.
The man continued his story, “It was the love of a human woman that caused the boy to abandon the order he had called home. The order had forbidden the boy from attachments. From things like marriage, but it had happened behind their backs anyway. The boy married in secret. His human wife got pregnant, and then she grew sick. She was a human carrying the spawn of the devil. Carrying reality made flesh. Fearing for his wife and unborn child, the boy revealed his secret to his family. The order was horrified and angry. They decided the wife and the child needed to die.
“Of course the boy did not take this well. He turned to the Sith for help instead. And they gave sweet promises they could cure the wife and baby. All for the price of killing everyone in the Jedi Order. And the boy agreed. He slayed them all including the women and children. But the Sith had lied. They had no idea on how to save the wife and baby, so the boy killed almost all the Sith too in his rage. In the end, it was all for nothing. The wife survived and gave birth.”
“The baby!” Davis shouted. “That was the monster’s baby!”
All that time the baby had been crying for its dada, it had been crying for the monster. He recalled the small little tentacle wrapping around a large black one. Like a baby’s hand wrapping around a single finger of their parent.
The man nodded. “Yes. The boy, long since a man, moved out to these woods with his family. To be left alone. To live away from everyone else.”
Obi-Wan reveals the reason the monster hasn’t killed him yet is because he wears a kyber crystal on a necklace. The crystal was a spell that casts a protective ward on him. He gives one to Davis and drives Davis home the next day. A month later, Davis gets visited by a news reporter and her cameraman. No one believes Davis crazy story and everyone says his friends have all gone off to do different things with their lives. The reporter listens to his story. He shows her the crystal on the necklace, which she steals from him.
It is then revealed the cameraman is the monster (Vader) and the reporter is his wife (Padme). Padme leaves and Vader kills Davis.
--------
That is a non-gore summary of part 1. Part 2, which I’ll hopefully have up on Halloween, tells the story from Vader’s perspective. Which is basically him trying to raise his little babies who can change shape and keep getting into trouble and Vader has to deal with their messes and his tired wife. He is tired and hungry when some punk kids show up at his house in a Jeep and jeopardize his family’s safety (as they’re hiding from Palpatine) by taking photos and posting them on instagram. (A joke in the story is that Obi-Wan chatises Anakin for not having a password on his wifi.)

The Shift (a ben solo fix it fic)
Tumblr media
Genre/Warnings: Star Wars close to canon fix it fic for Ben Solo/Kylo Ren, starts at the end of TFA; mild cursing, violence
Word Count: 3,419
Note: I hated the way Ben Solo’s story was handled in canon, so I ended up writing my first ever fan fiction. This is the first chapter in what will likely be a short(ish) series. Hope you like!
Description: The battle for the galaxy wages on. Kylo Ren, Sith Lord with the First Order, leads the charge against the Resistance, a small group seeking to disrupt peace and order in the galaxy. In an effort to bring an end to this lawless group, Kylo is sent to seek out information that could lead to the discovery of a legendary hero; a hero who could tip the balance of power away from the First Order.
Meanwhile, Ben Solo, a once powerful padawan, remains hidden. Torn between two sides, his loyalties will be tested when someone unexpected forces him to confront his past.
Chapter One
“What do you think you’ll see if I do?”
Kylo Ren and Han Solo stand at the center of a bridge. Darkness surrounds them, as near and real as the cold air. Lights from the distant computers blink red and white, their insignificant light no match to the overwhelming darkness.
But the two men aren’t alone.
A handful of troopers wait nearby, weapons poised as they wait for his command. The ever faithful Chewy, ready to fight beside Han Solo to the end, watches silently from the other side of the bridge. And there’s also the increasingly troublesome Rey a few levels above him, the Traitor at her side. The Traitor. A nobody trooper raised to follow orders, to know nothing but what he was told. And yet he still managed to get away. To fight the darkness and join the Rebellion. Kylo’s mother. His family.
“The face of my son,” Han responds.
The two men stand on the lowest bridge, watching each other silently. Han’s words seem to echo, unfading, in the air. Kylo blinks, hesitating, before he exhales deeply. A final breath warms the face behind his mask before he slides it off.
Han jolts, visibly startled as his eyes rove over Kylo’s face. It’s the first time they’ve seen each other since Ben Solo was a boy.
“Your son is gone,” Kylo says, his head tilting back slightly. “He was weak and foolish, like his father. So I destroyed him.”
Han’s jaw clenches, but he merely exhales the tension, giving his head a slight shake. “That’s what Snoke wants you to believe, but it’s not true. My son is alive.”
“No. The Supreme Leader is wise.”
“He’s using you for your power. When he gets what he wants, he’ll crush you. You know it’s true.”
A muscle twitches in Kylo’s jaw. It’s a future he already suspected, but it won’t happen. Even if it did, Kylo is stronger than Snoke. Just as he was stronger than Luke.
“It’s too late.”
Han takes a single step forward. Hope blossoms in his eyes. Though his expression remains guarded, Kylo has to force himself not to take a step back.
“No, it’s not. Leave here with me. Come home. We miss you.”
Something twists in Kylo’s chest. Miss him? That would imply they’d once loved him. Or even liked him.
He swallows, exhaling a controlled breath. It’s a lie. Han Solo is lying; he has to be. He doesn’t really want Ben. He just wants to stop Kylo Ren. Right?
“I’m being torn apart,” Kylo says, struggling for control as what he wants wars with what he’s supposed to do. Han takes another step closer. “I want to be free of this pain. I know what I have to do, but I don’t know if I have the strength to do it.”
His eyes burn and he has to remind himself his father is lying. He’s a liar. It’s not true. It can’t be.
And yet he’s here. He sought Kylo out, even after all he’s done against their family and the cause that practically runs in their veins. And he’s still calling him son. There was a time this would have angered him, but now? His feelings war within him, urging him toward the light, but also warning him of a trap.
He did come, but for Rey and to destroy the base. This is likely a diversion, meant to give the others time to complete their plan. Yet they’re all right here, watching Han Solo confront him. His father could’ve hidden, snuck back to the Resistance, and pretended he hadn’t just blown up his son. But he didn’t.
Kylo searches his father’s face. Half of him hopes to find the cocky glint in his eye, to know what he’s saying isn’t true, and justify what he knows Snoke wants him to do. But there’s nothing. Nothing but compassion he rarely saw growing up. His father’s feelings, whatever they once might have been, are now full of remorse. And hope.
“Will you help me,” Kylo asks, his voice low.
“Yes,” Han replies, taking a step closer. “Anything.”
The eagerness, the honesty and hope, is evident even to Kylo’s darkened heart.
How long has he struggled to overcome the hypocrisy of the light? How long has he fought their rigid, ignorant ways? And yet, in the dark, he became the very thing he’d wanted to destroy. How many people has he killed, all in an effort to become so powerful that he would never need anyone again? How many nightmares has he created in the imaginations of children, just as innocent as he once was?
This is a chance, one he never thought he’d have, to make a different choice.
The black helmet drops from his hand, landing with a resounding clank on the platform. He pulls his lightsaber, gripping it tightly in both hands. Frustrated, he looks back up to his father, expecting to find fear as his son pulls his weapon. But he’s not afraid.
Han reaches out with a tentative hand and grips the saber lightly. He knows Kylo could kill him, but he doesn’t care. Trusts him not to. He’ll die to give his son one last chance.
It’s time. Now or never. Han is standing so close, he wouldn’t even have to fight. Just turn on the saber and it would be over. His chest tightens, stomach churning, but not from indecision. His Father dead; at his own hand. He can’t do it.
“Dad,” he chokes, tears pooling freely. But he doesn’t care anymore. He’s so tired.
Han’s eyes tear through a smirk of joy. He starts to pull the saber from Ben’s loose grasp.
“Let go, Ben,” he orders softly. So he does. Finally, Ben lets everything go. Han grips the saber at his side, putting a reassuring hand on Ben’s shoulder, and nods.
The blaster cuts across the room, hitting his Dad directly in the chest. Han jerks on impact, his body reeling back and cascading over the side. Chewie yowls, Rey screams, and blasters start firing from every direction. One hits Ben in his abdomen, forcing him to his knees, but he barely registers the pain as he watches his Dad disappear down the shaft. It’s too late. Han Solo’s life force has disappeared from the galaxy forever.
Red flashes left and right, but it’s like it’s happening in another world. Ben had finally come out; finally given in to the light. How could this happen?
Ben rises in a billow of cloaks, finds the trooper who shot his Father, and pulls him toward him across the open expanse of the shaft. The man writhes under Kylo’s death grip, trying to escape his former master’s wrath. Rage boils in Ben’s ears, the entire room fading to nothing but red and this faceless man’s fight, until a voice cuts through the din.
“Rey!”
Ben turns, tossing the now dead trooper into the shaft, and finds the Traitor and Rey disappearing outside. Chewie is bogged down, heavy fire from the troops preventing him from making his own escape. Chewie rises, firing at the nearest troopers as he dashes for the exit. Ben doesn’t wait to see what happens.
Reaching out with one hand, he freezes all the blaster beams midair. Chewie turns, stunned and confused. The troopers stop their relentless firing, unsure what to do.
“Go,” Ben shouts. But Chewie doesn’t move. No one does.
The energy beams press hard against his hold, straining to complete their original path. If he doesn’t do something soon they’ll break free. Or the troopers will start firing again. Ben forms a fist, tightening his hold on the beams, and jerks his hand back.
The energy beams fly backwards, back towards the troopers that fired them. Most miss, pinging off the metal walls, but a few hit the troopers. Ben only knows because he senses their deaths, but he’s not watching them fall. He’s already on the move, down the bridge, his hand held out for his saber that fell in his Father’s hand.
“Go, Chewie,” he shouts again, running hard.
Realization starts to register for the troopers, that this wasn’t a bout of rage by their master. The one nearest Ben turns, ready to fire, but is shot before Ben can even formulate a plan to stop him.
Ben reaches the end of the bridge and skids to a stop a few feet away from Chewie’s position. The sabor clanks out of the shaft and into his hand. It surges to life, filling the area in a pulsing red light.
Chewie growls a challenge, but not at Ben. The two stand, almost side by side, facing off against the remaining troops. A team. Just he and his Father must have done a hundred times.
The troops start firing, but most of the shots are aimed at Chewie instead of himself. Ben takes advantage of their lack of courage and tosses some canisters at the two nearest the exit. The men crumble.
A woman yells, freezing Ben in place before he realizes what he’s hearing. Rey and the Traitor need help. He doesn’t wonder how he knows this, just accepts it’s the truth.
A trooper takes a shot, but Ben is too distracted to block it in time. The bream cuts into his upper arm, twisting his body slightly on impact. Chewie growls from behind a pillar, but Ben’s already dispatched the trooper.
“Get out of here,” Ben says, joining his former Uncle behind cover. “They’re in trouble.”
Chewie looks down at him, confusion and concern mixing in his eyes, and growls, “What about you?”
Ben shakes his head. He’s still torn over what he’s supposed to do, but knows he has to see this through. For Dad. “I don’t know. It doesn’t matter. Just go!”
A trooper pops around the pillar. Before Ben can react, Chewie lifts him bodily off the ground and tosses him into another trooper a good ten yards away.
“Get out fast,” Chewie growls, holding up a remote detonator. “Come to the Falcon.”
Ben nods tersely and steps out from behind the pillar just as Chewie hits the detonator. There’s a low rumble from deep in the station, then the area begins to explode around them. Chewie makes for the exit, tossing another trooper on his way out the door, but Ben doesn’t follow.
He fights. And he fights.
The troopers drop quickly, their weapons and strength no match for the power of the Force. The ground heaves abruptly, reminding Ben he can’t fight the coming destruction. The remaining troops try to flee, but Ben takes them all out.
When he steps outside, the cold bite of winter mixes with the scent of fire and sulfur from the planet's core. The Falcon is to the right, concealed in the forest beyond. Chewie is nearly there, but there’s no one waiting for him on the ship. Ben reaches out, finding Rey with unusual ease in the opposite direction. She’s unconscious. The Traitor is with her, but in trouble. Ben hesitates for only a second before tearing off after them.
They’re a half mile into the trees. The Traitor is struggling to carry Rey while simultaneously fending off the dozen or so troopers closing in on their position. Ben darts between the opposing forces, drawing his saber.
Seeing Ben coming, the Traitor drops Rey awkwardly to the ground and pulls a weapon. Fear rolls off him in waves, but he remains determined as a blue lightsaber ignites in his hand.
Something twists in Ben’s gut. That’s old Master Luke’s saber. It doesn’t belong to this Traitor. It belongs to him! Where did he even find it? Did Luke…?
A blaster beam shoots towards them. Ben deflects it with a wave of his hand. As the trooper drops dead, Ben grits his teeth and forces himself to turn away from the Traitor and focus.
“Get to the Falcon,” he barks, and rushes the oncoming troops.
He gets lost in the fight, slicing and stabbing and throwing. As he fights off two troopers, one takes a shot that Ben only just manages to deflect. The beam bounces off his saber with an electric ping and shoots back the way the Traitor and Rey fled. Someone cries out and Ben turns just in time to see the Traitor tumble to the ground.
“Damn it,” Ben growls. Stabbing the nearest trooper, he shoves him to the ground as he twists, just managing to dodge another blaster beam.
What was the idiot still doing there? How’s Ben supposed to get them out of here now that they’re both unconscious? Maybe he could just take Rey and leave the Traitor. Surely she’s more important to the Resistance than some nobody trooper. Even as he thinks it, he knows that’s not how they’ll see it. Not Rey. And certainly not his Mother.
The ground gives a tumultuous shake and from somewhere in the distance comes a deafening crack.
They’re running out of time. The planet is ripping itself apart. Ben rushes back to the others, scoops Rey up into his arms, and starts to run. He’ll come back for the Traitor if there’s time. He’s not sure why, but he can’t let Rey die.
He only goes a few paces before she starts to stir. The second she realizes what’s going on, she cries out and shoves her way out of his arms. Ben tries to steady her as she falls, but she pushes him away. It’s a weak attempt, but he steps back all the same. As she steadies herself, her eyes dart around the trees, finally landing on the Traitor unconscious behind him.
“What did you do to Finn?”
Tears pool in her eyes, feelings of fear and anger rolling off her in powerful waves.
“You don’t understand,” he starts, but she doesn’t let him explain.
“What did you do!”
Rey screams, reaching out toward him. Ben freezes, struggling to force down the surge of anger at her words when he senses something coming up from behind. He leans out of the way just as Luke’s old saber flies past his head. Rey catches it, eyes round beneath a frown. Ben and she both stare at the lightsaber in her hand, seeming equally shocked.
She has the Force. Somehow, it’s both unexpected and yet... he knew. Hadn’t he sensed something when he’d interrogated her before? Hadn’t she stood up against his probes and managed to escape the guards? And there’s something else, a unique connection he’s never felt before, not even with his old Master or his Mother. And she doesn’t even realize what’s happening; what she can do with this power.
“You need a teacher,” Ben says, unable to hide the eagerness in his voice. He steps forward, holding out a tentative hand.“Let me help you.”
Rey’s eyes immediately darken and she twists her body into a defensive pose. “You’re a monster,” she spits, and clicks the blue saber on. “I’ll never join you.”
Ben’s gut tightens, vision blurring as memories swirl through his mind. Lord Vader haunting his thoughts as a child, tempting him to give in to his anger and lust for control. Leia and Han sending him away. Old Master Luke standing over him as he slept, that same blue lightsaber drawn. Luke had sensed darkness in Ben. Or so he’d said. But instead of helping Ben fight, he’d abandoned him to the darkness. To evil. And now this woman, another wanna-be Jedi Knight, seeks to destroy him too?
Ben ducks, igniting his red lightsaber as he twists beneath Rey’s blade. The blue saber cuts through where his body was just moments before. She pauses, panting, and he matches her hateful glare with one of his own.
Why fight the darkness? The light never wanted him, anyway.
The ground trembles as Ben attacks. She parries his blow, twisting around to slice at his arm. He dodges, knocks away the saber’s blade, and shoves her. She stumbles, but manages to keep her feet and stabs upward. Ben easily knocks the blade away with his saber and sends her flying with his other hand.
Pain sears through his arm and chest at the sudden motion and he recoils. He hits his chest, sending fresh waves of pain searing up his torso, and he growls in frustration. It’s just a blaster wound. This is nothing; he can take it. He’s had worse.
Rey rises a few feet away and rushes him, hammering her saber down with abandon. He dodges the move easily. Clearly she knows how to fight, but not with a sword. She handles the elegant weapon as if she’s holding a battering ram instead of an energy sword. Her moves are reckless and wild. But the Force is strong with her. Even so, he knows he will kill her with ease.
His gut twists uncomfortably at the thought and he staggers. Rey takes advantage of the lapse and slices her saber upward, just grazing the right side of his face. He growls and steps back, but Rey pushes her advantage with another wide, hammering attack. He grabs her saber hand and tries to cut his saber down across her arm. She grabs his wrist just in time to stop his blade and struggles to shove him down. She’s so weak, it’s almost pathetic.
Ben puts one leg back, pulling her with him as he twists, and shoves her to the ground. He steps away, pacing as he waits for her to regain her feet. What is he doing? He should attack! Kill her, end this pointless fight, and leave the planet before it tears them all apart. She clearly won’t stop, not until she kills him. And that will never happen.
When she gains her footing he steps forward, but instead of fighting, Rey flees further into the trees. Ben chases after her, but she doesn’t make it far. The ground quakes, forcing them both to stop to keep their feet, and a large fissure cracks open in front of her. She turns, fear and determination back in her eyes, and raises her saber again.
“You can’t win,” Ben shouts, slowly walking towards her. “Come with me. I can show you the ways of the Force.”
“Never!”
Rey charges, saber high. Ben waits, staring her down until she’s only a foot away. At the last moment he twists and slices his saber up her back. She cries out and stumbles forward, but doesn’t fall. He didn’t cut deep, just enough for her to finally understand just how easily he could destroy her. And that he’s choosing not to.
“Don’t make me destroy you,” he says, watching her try to stay on her feet.
Confusion flashes across her face for a moment, but it’s quickly replaced by the familiar hatred and fear.
“Rey!”
Ben looks up and Rey turns. Before the Traitor appears there’s another loud crack and the earth shifts under Ben’s feet. Another fissure cracks open, this time between him and Rey, and the part of the ground he’s on starts to slide backward. He sinks to a knee, trying to maintain his balance, waiting for the ground to settle. When it finally does, the fissure separating him from Rey has grown to an impassable width.
He squints through the dust and darkness, barely able to make out Rey on the other side, bathed in the blue light of her saber. The tall form of Chewie is there too, tugging her and the Traitor away.
A ship flies overhead, sending more dust and debris into the air, and lands a few yards away. When the door opens, one of the generals steps out, gesturing for Ben to come.
He hesitates, glancing back over the fissure, but the blue saber is gone. The familiar doubt seeps back into him. He’s not sure what to do, but there’s no way he can go back to his Mother now. His Father is dead and he’s responsible. Rey is right, he is a monster. And monsters belong to the darkness.
He clicks off his saber and marches onto the ship. Just before they jump into hyperspace, he reaches out one more time. A small smirk creeps across his lips. Chewie, Finn the Traitor, and Rey are safely away.

Vader Strikes Back - Part the Second
So again, not beta read/really rough/not really proof read and OUT of order.  Not even sure any of these scenes will make it into any final story of any kind.
Just using Tumblr as a way to jump start the muse by writing out scenes that I may or may not use later.
Also spoilers for the original first story in AO3 Back From the Future: Episode VI The Clone Wars.  Do NOT read this if you haven’t read that story since otherwise this will NOT make any sense.
If you want to read Part 1 and the Prologue, check the tag #vader strikes back on my page. Again I value feedback and ideas if you have any.
*
After the tenth body dropped, certain people started leaving Coruscant: human male natural born officers of the GAR, certain scientists, more than a few aids and lower ranking legislators and representatives and an exodus of Senators including Senator Orn Free Ta of Ryloth and Senator Sweitt Concorkill of Vurk. Oh, they all had excuses but nothing could disguise or hide the fear in their eyes.
They feared they would be next to die
Bail Organa was doing all he could to calm the public and hold the Republic together but it didn’t help that one of the key members of the Loyalist Committee, Senator Ta was fleeing Coruscant as if he feared his life would be taken next. That left Bail with limited allies and right now; he wasn’t even sure he could trust the Delegation of 2,000 with Senator Concorkill and Representative Nee Alavar fleeing the system.
If only Senator Amidala had not mysteriously left. They had been mere hours away from the vote to cease hostilities and start the peace process when everything had gone straight to hell. Bail was left to pick up the pieces and worst of all, it meant he was the one that the Jedi Order was calling upon now and he really didn’t have the time
“Master Yoda, Master Windu,” he greeted them perfunctorily. “Please forgive me, but I am due in the Senate in less than an hour.”
“Keep you long, we will not,” Master Yoda said  walking slowly into Bail’s office. “Help we are offering.”
The Senator paused. “Help? What kind of help?”
“We believe we know who is behind the string of assassinations on Coruscant,” Master Windu explained.
Bail put down his datapad. “Master Jedi, I think every sentient in the galaxy knows who is is behind the assassinations.”
“Vader,” Yoda intoned.
“Vader,” Bail agreed. “What sort of help then is the Order offering? Do you know who is on his list of targets? Do you have the evidence supporting the crimes of his future targets? I admit that given the state of the Judiciary right now and how many people the Coruscant Guard have arrested, I am not sure the Senate is in any position to step in to deal with the situation.”
This seemed to stop both Jedi in their tracks. They shared a silent look. “Why would you think that the Order would have such evidence?” Mace asked sharply.
“Why wouldn’t you have knowledge of who he intends to kill next?” Bail asked, growing more confused as the conversation progressed.
“In support of his action, you believe the Order is? That his conduct, we sanction?”
“Vader defeated Palpatine. He was working with a Jedi Knight when he confronted the Sith Master, leading GAR troops.  While I find Vader’s methods to be extreme, I have been privy to enough Senate Arms Committee briefings to know that  harsher methods are sometimes necessary to deal with threats to the Republic. I thought they were working under the auspices of the Order and military authority when they uncovered who Palpatine truly was. Wait, are you now saying that’s not true? Are you saying the Order didn’t know?”
“Senator Organa, Vader is a Sith Lord. He didn’t save the Republic. He killed Chancellor Palpatine because that is how Sith take power. The student kills the master. He just happened to do it very publicly for reasons we cannot explain as of yet.”
Bail looked from one Jedi to another, in shock. “You’re joking,” he said flatly.
Yoda slammed his cane tip into the floor. “Joking we are not, Sith he is.”
“No, he’s not. He can’t be,” Bail argued. He stood and went to the holoscreen which showed multiple news feeds on mute, many of which were replaying Palpatine’s unmasking and subsequent death. “Have you watched the holovid of the fight? What they said to each other? He fought side by side with a Jedi Knight. Just because his lightsaber is red--”
“That boy was no Jedi,” Yoda says firmly.
“Senator, we do not need you to lecture us on who is or is not a Sith. Vader is a Sith Lord and he is planning to take over the Republic in a critical moment of weakness. The deaths are part of a larger plan to--”
“Master Windu,” Bail stopped him with a raised hand. “With all due respect, I admit to being a bit skeptical of the Order’s knowledge of who is or is not a Sith. You have just admitted to me that you didn’t even know that the Chancellor was the mastermind behind anything until after Vader and Luke confronted him on te Galactic Holonet!”
Yoda shook his head and began heading for the door. “Apprised of this situation, you seem to be. Leave you to your busy schedule, we will.”
“Wait, I have questions. The Senate needs to know--”
“The Order will take care of Vader,” Master Windu said with a shallow bow. “We will leave you to your work.
Bail watched them both leave, his mind traveling the speed of light. “What just happened here?” he asked the empty office aloud. “And what the hell is going on?”

Obi-Wan knows there was something that Anakin isn’t telling him and it isn’t just because Anakin still hasn’t said a word since Palpatine’s death. He isn’t blind. He’s raised the boy for over a decade and now and . . .
Well, all right. Perhaps he was a little unaware when it came to Anakin since he hadn’t known until very recently that his Padawan was actually legally married and now has children or that his relationship with Chancellor Palpatine was a toxic mess of dark influences that caused untold damage or that Anakin’s indomitable spirit on the battlefield covered up deep trauma.
Perhaps he is a lot unaware when he thought about it.
But be that as it may, his eyes are open now and he is paying attention and he isn’t just trying to ignore things going wrong with Anakin any longer, and clearly there is something else troubling him.
And worse still, Padme obviously knows what it is and she isn’t saying.
After several days of following them around the Lake House, waiting for one or both of them to confide in him, Obi-Wan finally confronts Padme.  He has to give it to her, for all of his Jedi impassiveness, even he has never mastered her level of control.  But this was Anakin and Obi-Wan isn’t going to give up so easily.
“The issue is Anakin is deeply troubled. If I didn’t know better, I’d say he is in . . . pain, grieving, actually grieving,” Obi-Wan says with growing astonishment, the realization of what he was seeing crystallizing and coming into focus as he spoke his thoughts aloud. “Both of you are. For whom? Not Palpatine?” he asks.
Padme scoffs openly, eyes flashing with fury. “Don’t be obscene. As if we would mourn him.”
“No, no, I’m sorry. You’re right,” he apologizes hurriedly. “But please, there is something. I can sense it. Neither of you are sleeping. He won’t let the twins out of his sight. Just tell me. I can help. I want to help.”
“Have you been watching the holo news lately?”
Obi-Wan shakes his head. No, he hasn’t. It had been showing nothing but the death of Palpatine on repeat. He had no desire to see the vid  and be reminded of literally trying to hold onto Anakin to keep him from Falling.
She purses her lips together and is silent for a long movement. “You should watch it.”
Obi-Wan takes her advice and watches the vid from start to finish.
He wishes he hadn’t because somehow, in some way that makes no sense, all he sees on the holoscreen is Anakin.
Anakin is fighting a Sith Master.
Anakin is throwing himself out of a window to protect his son, Luke.
Anakin is suffering under an attack of Sith lightning.
Anakin is wielding a red lightsaber using Djem So forms that Anakin had modified from Form V.
Obi-Wan buries his head in his hands, wishing he could unsee what he has seen, forget what he now knows.
(“Sidious cares for nothing but himself and the Rule of Two. To finally accomplish his goals he has only ever really lacked one thing, a true apprentice,” Dooku had said.)
Not Anakin, oh Force please, not Anakin. It can’t be.  Obi-Wan is just tired. He’s seeing things that are not there. The stress of the past three years is obviously affecting him. His mind is playing tricks. There is no way, just no way that this can be real.
(”“We've seen your future. We don’t want it,” Luke says fiercely to Palpatine as the vid repeats. “You have nothing we want.”
“Don’t I?” the Chancellor says with a vicious smile. “You hate me, you both do. The hate is welling in you now. Why pretend? You think the Order will accept you? You are nothing more than a heretic, a poorly trained tainted novice who they will shun at best, hunt down at worst. And you, a Sith Lord-- there is no future for you without me. Join me and together we will rule the galaxy as it was meant to be ruled!”)
Anakin is a Sith Lord. Even entombed in a monstrous black shell, masked from the world, even torn out of some other horrible time, Sidious recognizes one of his own.
(On the holoscreen, Vader presses his blade forward and spits back at Palpatine, “I will never join you!”)
Obi-Wan waves his hand and the screen goes dark. He’s offered Padme his help. He’s sworn to Anakin that day at 500 Republica that he would stay with him and make it all right. But this is too much, this is too big. He can’t possibly--
(“He is your brother!? Your Chosen One!? He's supposed to SAVE you and your wretched Order?! YOU LOVE HIM?!” Vader screamed at him.)
He touches his throat gingerly.
Liar, Vader called him.
Later, Obi-Wan had promised himself over and over again over the past few years, pushing aside his guilt. Later, he would have time to really talk and help Anakin.
No, Obi-Wan decides. He is no liar. He will keep his promise and make things right. If Vader could do it, (and how horrible must the future have been for one lost to the Dark to find a way to save the entire galaxy?) then so could he.
He stands and goes to find his Padawan.

Rey Bridger Fanfic: Apart
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a fanfic based on these pictures I drew, using the theory that Ezra is Rey's father. It's pretty sad, but hopefully you'll enjoy ;D
Before the Ghost had even touched the surface of the planet Ezra propelled himself off the ramp in a powerful leap.
He was too caught up in his thoughts to hear Kanan shouting his name from behind, rolling onto the soft, damp soil and jumping to his feet. The world was shrouded in darkness, thick rolling clouds storming up above as a slight drizzle of rain hit his features. He couldn’t see much until the dust started the settle, the Ghost landing heavily behind him.
“Ezra!” he heard Kanan call again, the footsteps of his mentor speeding towards him.
But the male wasn’t listening. He was focused only on one thing… He was only focused on her…
When the message had been beamed out of an attack on the New Jedi Temple, the Ghost crew had been the first to act. The idea alone was almost unfathomable. Who would attack Luke’s Jedi order? Especially during a period where peace ran strong with the New Republic.
Ezra couldn’t believe it. He… wouldn’t believe it!
With a push from his legs the man broke out into a sprint, running forward with a fierce determination while reaching out for that presence… any presence for that matter.
But all he felt was the cold, the icy chill that seeped all the way into his core.
In each second that passed Ezra’s search only became more desperate, his boots digging into the mud beneath as he panted raggedly. Kanan’s voice was blown away in the wind as the dark sky above rumbled and growled. And regardless of the fact that he couldn’t see his path in this murky night, he pushed onward, holding his breath and praying to the force she was alright.
Then suddenly, Ezra’s foot snagged on something.
He immediately tripped onto the ground, mud sliding up his side as he stabbed his fingers into the dirt to stabilise himself. Gliding for a few more seconds over the slick ground, Ezra whipped his head back to stare at what he’d fallen over.
He squinted, unable to make out its dark silhouette as the rain fogged his vision.
CRACK!
The lightning flashed above, illuminating the object for a single moment.
But it was long enough for Ezra to finally realise what he’d tripped over, almost screaming in terror as he scrambled back in the mud.
The surroundings grew dark again, but Ezra’s heartbeat raced as the image of a young, lifeless boy with blood smeared all over his face and chest stayed engrained into his vision.
Clambering to his feet in distress, the Jedi whipped around and shifted his gaze to the horizon as yet another streak of lightning brightened the eerie sky.
But Ezra’s face paled when he saw tens, maybe even hundreds of other bodies scattered across the field, figures of various sizes laying there, as still as statues. The world fell into darkness again, but Ezra’s petrified gaze flickered to the enormous shadow a little to his left. He wanted to be wrong, he wanted to be imagining it… But with another crack and flash from above, Ezra’s worst nightmare had finally been confirmed.
The outline of the Jedi Temple, the building that once stood so tall was enlightened, revealing its shattered structure and crumbling walls. This beautiful piece of architecture was stripped, exploded and branded with lightsaber chars, the stone dull and lifeless, just like the many other people, other children of the force were.
It finally dawned on Ezra as he stepped back with a gasp.
He bumped into someone, but he didn’t even notice when Kanan gently placed his hand on his shoulder, his touch so foreign in Ezra’s moment of realisation.
“Ezra,” he spoke solemnly.
The younger male didn’t reply immediately, his mouth opening and closing, but no sound leaving his lips. Until finally, with a hitch in his chest, he stuttered fearfully “T-Tell me I’m dreaming, Kanan… tell me this is a-a nightmare…”
His master said nothing, but simply squeezed his shoulder as a sign of support.
Ezra’s heartbeat picked up again, as he went to step forward and screamed “REY!”
“Ezra,” Kanan’s hand pulled him back, electric blue eyes scanning the sea of bodies for the young child. But his mentor’s tone was low, and gentle, as he murmured with sorrow “We scanned for lifeforms when we landed…”
“I’m sorry…”
Ezra already felt tears forming in the back of his eyes, but it was only when Kanan said the final words that his heart broke into a million pieces.
“There are no survivors…”
Immediately, a raw, painful weep escaped Ezra’s lips, his legs growing weak as he collapsed onto the soil beneath him.
He cried fiercely in that moment, and as if the heavens itself were mourning, the storm grew louder and the rain fell harder. The male’s clothes and skin began to get drenched, but he didn’t even care. His eyes were burning with tears, his heart shattered.
With his head hung low, Ezra’s mind shifted back through his memories, back to the moment he stood in this very place and said goodbye to his little girl…
“Luke!” Ezra greeted cheerily.
“Ezra! I got your message! It’s great to see you again!” the Jedi smiled as he stepped forward. He glanced at the figure in his arms curiously and asked “Is this your daughter? My how she’s grown.”
A proud grin pulled at Ezra’s lips as he shifted his attention to the little girl in his arms who hid her face away meekly. “Don’t worry darling,” he cooed warmly. “This is Master Luke. He won’t hurt you.”
The child glanced up at him with her dazzling hazel eyes, her expression pulled into a suspicious pout.
Ezra smiled softly. “Where’s my Rey of sunshine?”
There was a reluctant pause, before Rey flashed a charming, lively grin.
“Ah, there it is!” Ezra teased lightly, pressing a kiss against her forehead and causing the child to giggle. But there was a deep pain in Ezra’s voice as he hesitantly raised his gaze back to Luke, his eyes shadowing over darkly.
“I’m sorry Luke, but I’m afraid I can’t stay for long,” he admitted drearily. “Kanan and I are getting closer to finally destroying what remains of the Sith, but, that comes with lots of unnecessary dangers…”
“I completely understand Ezra,” the master replied encouragingly. “And I can assure you, Rey will be well looked after while you’re away.”
Ezra shot Luke a weary smile, before he gently lowered himself to the ground and placed Rey stably on her feet. On his knee, her father remained eye-level with the girl as he mustered a weak smile and brushed some unseen dust off her shoulder.
“Darling,” Ezra started, his eyes showing a different emotion to his face. “Daddy has to go away for a while.”
The child asked “Can I come with you?”
“I’m afraid not.”
Confused, Rey pried “Why not?”
He sighed sympathetically, replying “Sorry Honey, but it’s very dangerous, and I don’t want you getting hurt.”
Her little brows furrowed tightly as her hand rested on her father’s shoulder, and she gripped onto the fabric of his shirt tightly and mumbled “You’re leaving me?”
“Of course not darling, you’re just… visiting Master Luke for a month or so, that’s all,” Ezra assured her gently. “You’re going to love it here! There’s tons of other kids just like you. I’m pretty sure Luke has a nephew who’d love to meet as well.”
She didn’t seem convinced, her gaze growing anxious as she shifted from foot to foot. It was hurting Ezra too. He loved his daughter dearly, and there wouldn’t be a day in his life where he didn’t think of her… but the risks were too high. He’d never forgive himself if something happened to her while Kanan and him were out hunting for trouble essentially.
She’d be safer with Luke… She’d be safe at the temple…
That’s what Ezra kept telling himself anyway.
So lovingly, the male placed his hands on Rey’s shoulders and kissed her forehead, pulling back and saying “I love you to Lothal and back Rey, and I’ll be back soon. I promise.”
The girl pouted, before she replied uncertainly “Promise?”
Ezra smiled, saying “Of course my darling. I’ll be back before you know it.”
There was a tense moment, before Rey lunged forward, wrapping her arms tightly around her father’s neck in a warm embrace. “I love you Daddy,” she whispered timidly.
Ezra could feel his eyes beginning to sting, but he pushed it away and returned his daughter’s hug fiercely, securing her in his arms one last time before he left.
Luke stepped forward after a few moments, and Ezra reluctantly pulled away, taking one last look into Rey’s gleaming eyes before carefully raising her hand up to the Jedi Master.
Luke softly took Rey’s hand in his, and began to guide her away.
Her expression was one of great sorrow as she hesitantly held her other arm out for her father, unwilling to break their gazes. Ezra, still on his knee, put on a fake façade of confidence and smiled warmly. He held his hand out, and with each step Rey’s small hand slid along Ezra’s arm, until finally, their fingertips parted, their touch absent.
Rey was still looking back at her father with wide eyes and her hand extended back to him, but never the less she didn’t resist Luke’s gentle guidance as he began walking her towards the temple ahead.
The sight of her desperate expression hurt Ezra deeply, but he mustered his courage and held a smile, telling himself she’d be okay…
She’d be safer with Luke…
She’d be safer at the temple…
Lies…
I’d fed myself with lies…
And now she was gone… my daughter was gone…
My tears fell from my face and blended into the already muddy soil, the thunder above drowning out the sounds of my pitiful sobs. I reached forward with my hand, as if to reach out to her, as if to get her back…
But she was gone. My Rey was gone forever. And it was all my fault.
So as I cried out in agony, my weeps getting carried throughout the desolate, lifeless temple, I asked myself one question…
Why did I ever let her go?
