We were not supposed to be living with them this long and it has been super difficult for us BUT we're very thankful because its allowed us to save up for a pretty good down-payment.

I'm so glad someone finally asked!! Thank you!! I can see you've been reading one of my favorite WIPs lol. I have a lot of opinions. Like a lot. So this is cut for length. PLEASE talk with me further about ghoul magic I beg you.

Mountain can cause earthquakes and can do some manipulation of the earth but he has to be touching it. So like no earth bender throwing rocks shit. More like splitting open the earth, or mending a crack, making a path across a stream, or raising up a hill from the flat ground. Mountain in particular is an extremely powerful earth ghoul capable of filling canyons and making new islands rise from sea and more, but he doesn't use his powers often simply because he loves and respects the earth too much. He does not want her to bend to his will, he wants to admire her natural beauty. Mountain is also very in tune with plant life. He can grow anything.

Rain can summon water with the moisture in the air and he can manipulate water that he is touching in much the same way that Mountain can manipulate the earth. Water ghouls are very talented swimmers who are capable of holding their breath for very long periods of time as they dive into deep waters and swim against powerful currents. Ghouls already have excellent night vision, but water ghouls even more so because they like to explore deep waters. Rain has all of these common features of water ghouls. He loves to explore any body of water he can while the band travels. Rain loves to manipulate the water while he is swimming to swim faster and do tricks. Nothing on earth or in the depths of hell makes Rain happier than being in water.

Aether has healing powers, can manipulate emotions, and he can ease pain and discomfort, but again he has to be touching the person. Aether is a gifted healer, but he doesn't use his powers often because it leaves him feeling exhausted. He doesn't like to manipulate people's emotions on moral grounds, but he has done it for what he believed to be the greater good. Aether is able to ease pain and discomfort easily without causing much stress to himself. He will often cure headaches, pains related to heats and periods, muscle aches, etc. His favorite way to use his powers is to massage a lover, rubbing away all their aches and pains and tension both physically and magically all while setting the mood.

Multi ghouls are jacks of all trades. Not all of them are able to use literally all powers, but most of them can use two or three, and their powers are generally fairly weak in comparison to a ghoul of that element. Swiss has fire, water, and healing powers. His fire powers are his strongest, followed closely by his healing powers. His water powers are very weak, but he is able to do little tricks that make Rain laugh.

Dew always has a literal fire burning in his chest and he is able to summon flames on his skin and in his mouth. He likes to light cigarettes, candles, incense, etc. with his fingers and tail. Dew does have some water powers as well, but they are not nearly as strong as his fire powers. He is an above average swimmer and he is able to manipulate small bodies of water. He can conjure very small amounts of water. No more than a few tablespoons. Despite Dew having water and fire powers he is not a multighoul. He has all the characteristics of a fire ghoul, which means he is a fire ghoul, he just happened to inherit water powers from his father as well. This is a rare occurrence but not at all unheard of.

Cirrus and Cumulus are essentially air benders lol. They will use their powers in many little everyday ways such as dusting something off, cooling hot food, drying something that is wet, blowing out many candles at once or from a distance. They can summon powerful windstorms when they are angry. They've also been known to use their powers to mess with other people such as a puff of air on the back of someone's neck when they think they're alone or endlessly blowing papers off of somebody's work space. They can make objects seemingly float, including themselves. I see a lot of fics with them having wings and I think its cool as fuck but I haven't adopted that into my writing. I might. I can't seem to make up my mind lol. Cumulus also has some healing powers that she inherited from her dad in the same way that Dew has water powers.

All ghouls practice magic. Their glamors are just one of the many ways they use magic. They are able to cast other illusion spells as well. They can grant protection, ward off negative energy, summon each other, and more that I haven't thought of yet lol. Cumulus loves practicing magic and making spells for the humans at the Abbey.

As for the dorm mates,,,, I'm definite straight up NO with their policy that the strongest survives there IM A WEAK ASS BTICH JAJSKA and i like... lazing around but I'm not Leona so sike ig. Scarabia: their characters on their own are good but seeing them together makes me extremely uncomfortable?? it’s probably because the orientalism plus people shipping together..it’s not jamil and kalims fault but i have a complicated relationship with scarabia

Octavinelle: idk they just don’t stand out to me. jade is neat but i feel like the tweels are overhyped. don’t really have an opinion about azul

Ignihyde: okay of course my second favorite dorm is the cute family. what did you expect. but also they are so interesting?? book 6 has been the best book so far especially with all the lore. also ortho is best boy AND LITERALLY A ROBOT. how can you not like precious robot boy who loves his brother. also their designs are cool the hades hair and teeth are very gender.

Diasomnia: you already knew this was coming. my beloved dark romanticism found family dorm<33 i am literally obsessed with them okay. not only are their designs peak gender but they’re WRITING is so. augh. just the contrast between them. we got two faes who are centuries old and have experienced years upon years of hardship. war. suffering. and then we have two (one and a half) humans who have never experienced loss. or grief. they are honest and hardworking and loyal, they represent youth and joy!! and yet they all have so much LOVE and TRUST for eachother it makes me go INSANE!!!! also you can never miss with gothic aesthetics and fairies…literally the greatest thing out there

Summary: While discussing favorite cereals, Makoto realizes Haru is holding out on him and so uses a playful interrogation method to get a straight answer out of his friend.

A/N: My very first Free tickle fic! I'm so excited to share it with you! I feel super silly about the title but we all know my history with titles so I'm just going to let it be, lol. I originally wrote this with lee Haru laughing much louder, but after giving it some thought I decided it would be more in character for him to laugh silently, so this is what I settled on. I feel good about it! Hope you enjoy it, too! ^^

“Mackerel is all I eat for breakfast.”

“It is now, but I know you used to have cereal sometimes growing up.”

“That was a long time ago.”

“You’re not that old!” Makoto grinned, rolling over on the couch to look down at Haru, who lay on the floor staring up at the ceiling. His blue eyes slid over to his friend. “Come on. Forget cereal for breakfast; just think about cereal in general. Which one’s the best?”

Haru blinked. “Are there any fish-shaped cereals?”

Makoto laughed. “You’re impossible.”

“I don’t eat cereal.”

“You should try it! It’s good.”

“Okay.”

The brunette waited a beat, then smirked at his friend. “Aren’t you going to ask me what I think the best cereal is?”

“Uh, sure. What’s the best cereal, Makoto?”

“Cinnamon Toast Crunch.”

Haru frowned, then glanced away. “If you say so.”

“You can’t judge me when you won’t give me an answer yourself.”

“Whatever.”

Makoto reached down to poke his stomach. “Do you have an opinion on the matter after all, Haruka?”

Haru batted his hand away. “I thought we agreed not to call me that.”

“Then maybe you should stop being so stubborn about giving me an answer.” Makoto chuckled, an idea sparking in the back of his mind as he poked his friend again, wiggling his finger on purpose this time. “Just tell me.”

Haru rolled away from him onto his stomach, grunting. “Knock it off.”

Instead, Makoto quickly descended from the couch and sat on his friend’s lower back, skittering his fingers rapidly along his back and shoulders. “I know you have a favorite cereal. What is it? Tell me.”

“H-Hey! Stop!” Haru protested, squirming. He wasn’t really reacting beyond that, but Makoto knew he’d break eventually. It was just a matter of keeping it up. The ravenette made a choking kind of noise when the taller boy started jabbing his fingers into the backs of his ribs. “Makoto!”

Makoto merely grinned, reaching under his shirt to dig purposefully into his ribs from behind. “Tell me, or I’ll tickle it out of you.”

Haru’s eyes snapped up to him in a brief panic. The usually stoic swimmer was well aware that Makoto knew he was ticklish enough for it to be a viable interrogation method, but still. He didn’t want to crumble right away just from the threat of it. He tried clamping his arms to his sides. “Don’t!”

“All right, you asked for it.” Makoto grinned, switching from digging to light scribbling, and Haru shuddered beneath him, burying his face in the carpeted floor to try and muffle his giggles as they slipped out of him beyond his control. “Jeez, you’re so stubborn, Haruka. All you have to do is tell me your favorite cereal.”

“I don’t eat cereal,” Haru tried, letting out a squeal that made his cheeks instantly turn a dark shade of embarrassed red. “Stohohop it!”

“See, I like Cinnamon Toast Crunch because it’s so sugary,” Makoto replied as though he hadn’t heard the giggly plea. “I know it’s not super healthy but I only eat it in the off season. I have to imagine you’d probably be a Honey Nut Cheerios person, or maybe a Fruity Pebbles kind of guy if you’re secretly pretty bold.”

“Mahahahakoto!” Haru cackled, giggles becoming soft laughter the more his friend focused on that incessant, light scribbling across his second worst spot. “Stohohohohohop!”

“I wonder what Nagisa and Rei would imagine your cereal choice to be. I should have them guess once I’ve gotten an answer out of you.” Makoto smiled at his increasingly flustered friend. “Feel like talking yet?”

“Stohohohohohohop!”

“All right, guess I gotta bring out the big guns.” The brunette let up on his tickling and shimmied down Haru’s body to straddle his calves instead, pinning his legs to the floor. He glanced behind him just briefly to get an idea of where his feet were, then began scratching ruthlessly at the bare soles, watching in satisfaction as his normally silent friend absolutely shrieked with giggles.

“Ehehehehehehehehe! Nohohohohohoho, Mahahahahahakoto!” Haru pounded the carpet with his fists, laughing quietly but uncontrollably, unable to even wiggle his feet away thanks to the position he was in. He tried rolling over but could only flail uselessly, and seeing that triumphant smirk on his friend’s face was not helping this tickle any less. “Stohohohohohohohohop it!”

“Favorite cereal, Haru. Tell me.”

“I dohohohohohon’t eat cehehehehehereal! Plehehehehehehehease!”

“Lying won’t get you out of this situation, I’m afraid. Better talk before I go for the toes.”

Haru yelped, then slapped a hand over his mouth. “Nonono not the tohohohohohoes!”

Makoto grinned, his friend’s unique brand of hysterics making him feel giddy as well. Haru was quiet in all respects – even in his laughter, which never rose above a low chuckling even when his worst spot was being tickled mercilessly like this. The brunette knew that it was still unbearable, however, and that continuing at this pace should break him in another minute or so.

Sure enough, just a few seconds later, Haru was giggling his defeat. “Okahahahahahay, okay, fine! It’s Cocoa Puhuhuhuhuhuhuffs! Cocoa Puffs! Please, stohohohohohop!”

Makoto laughed. “You like Cocoa Puffs?! No way! Say you're cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs!"

“Stop tihihihihihickling mehehehehe!”

“Say it!” Makoto demanded, grinning. Oh, how he wished he’d gotten his phone out for this.

Haru’s cheeks and ears turned a dark shade of red as he squealed into the carpet, “I-I’m cuckoo for Cocohohohohoa Puffs! Plehehehease – Makoto, please, no mohohohohohohore!”

Finally the brunette let up, laughing himself at how cute Haru was being. He couldn’t believe he’d actually gotten him to say it! “That was great, Haru! Man, you must be more ticklish than I thought you were!”

“That was mean,” the ravenette muttered into the ground, covering his head with his arm. “Stop laughing at me. You wouldn’t stop until I said it.”

Makoto’s giggles died down, but his smile stayed in place. “Hey, you know I wasn’t trying to be mean. I just never hear you laugh, you know? It’s addicting. I wanted to draw it out as long as I could.”

“Whatever.”

“Don’t you ‘whatever’ me. I’ll tickle you again if I have to.”

Haru squeaked, scrambling away from his friend in a hurry, shooting a nervous smile over his shoulder. “Don’t!”

Makoto smirked, wiggling his fingers playfully. “Why don’t we discuss dessert next?”

Quick thoughts after new chapter. Obviously slight spoilers.

- BATH SCENE ASFGSGHEFETGEHDGHDFGWEUIW *unhuman screams* just can't stop looking at that CG and back to work

- Lucio has the scar that looks suspiciously similar to one from self-harm or suicidal attempt. Maybe it is not, but it was my first thought when I saw it. (Maybe I just like angst too much and wish to think so. But I can quite imagine how he perform that kind of act being delirious and despaired after an amputation, clamping the dagger between his knees or holding it in his teeth, thinking as his life is ruined and beind mad that he even not beeing able to do it properly now. After all he came to thought that it was definitely not his brightest idea trying to cut himself in the medical tent being surrounded by doctors)

- Lucio doesn’t know how to calm himself down on his own when he is overwhelmed. Perhaps this is some root of his bad temper and explosive behavior (yelling, broking, damaging and throwing things when he needs to vent, as it is his only available option)

- Lucio is the good swimmer after all

- They have knowing not only about trains in their world (trains was mentioned in the last Muriel’s chapter) but also about wrist watch. That looks like that they live in some kind of steampunk world lol If not to think that it is just anachronism and carelessness in writing the script.

- Okay, I think I suddenly have a little crush on Valdemar now. As if it was too easy for me before 😂

- BATH SCENE. Fine, it’s inevitable. I cannot not to speak about it. I have a post in my drafts about it with some thoughts that it looks like Nadia categorically does not intend to offer her private bathroom to Lucio as she did it in others routes (I've expected this scene before the Masquerade, as I find it quite reasonable if they were send to take a bath before the party after all that Lazareth stuff, but.. they did't) as she had some bad previous experience, like Lucio might bathed with his dogs and use all luxury shampoo for them (because his babies are deserve all the best!). Buuut... well, cannon balls are not any better. So yes, she obviously had her reasons 😆 //And as it shows the option with separate bathing in the chapter, I was right! He is truly bathing with dogs :)

- When the new chapter comes out I always play it several times to see all the options. And gosh, I really don’t remember if I ever felt myself that bad before the choice as now on “Free me” option (I even needed to stop game and took several deep breath before I could keep reading after the choice. Too damn hard for my poor heart lol). But you know what? With choosing that option the chapter becomes much longer! And more interesting in a way. And this is an opportunity to meet the rest of the characters that have not appeared yet (though only Julian got a line, but I'm still glad). And dialogues after reunification with Lucio? Omg, I've totally melted. It is so amazing. So I definitely recommend to try that plot option - pure, 100% hurt/comfort as it is.

- And I’m sure that it was already mentioned but since it is obviously by now that  Lucio and MC are completely interchangeable in the ritual it's reveals almost undoubtedly that Lucio represents the Fool arcana. Congrats to all who believed and hoped :)

Hello I just finished the Pacific and I'm dying. So it's time for me to delve into the fandom and try and fulfil my poor sledgefu heart. Have any recommendations on who's blog to look at or tags? Other than yourself because I most certainly will spend a solid 5 hours going through your tags. I've already seen a lot of your art and I think it's beautiful, just an FYI.

Oh boy do I ever have recs! It was only about a year ago that I was new to the fandom myself and slowly going through @aboutthatmelancholystorm and @persipneiwrites tumblr sledgefu tags every night, reading all of it, and being totally sucked in! ^_^ (I especially suggest Persipnei’s 3:16 AU where Sledge and Snafu are rock stars!) As for art, I think the biggest collection I know of is the blog @marines-r-gay. Some of my favorite sledgefu artist blogs include @skelesocks (Ace Eugene will hold a special place in my heart forever!) @badgerms and my old favorite the-heebiejeebies who sadly disappeared and deleted their blog :( but you can still find their old art in my ‘sledgefu’ tag on my blog like here. There’s no really ‘exculsively’ sledgefu artists out there right now, but there is a LOT of amazing older stuff to be found mixed into people’s blogs! Not Quite Home by Seabright - A fix it fic that really fixes things. Post war set in New Orleans with Eugene showing up on Snafu’s doorstep. Snafu is cantankerous and very in character and he /claims/ he can’t ‘fix’ Sledge, but let’s face it that’s why they need to fix each other. Snafu has a lot of walls up and Eugene breaks all of them down in his steadfast way. This fic captures Snafu perfectly - even in little things like in the way he fidgets and moves. Also the last kiss is just...SO good.

Roadverse is set after the war and Snafu takes Eugene on a roadtrip to Florida, there’s a lot of introspection, they fall in love, definitely a happy ending! The writing here is what really shines.

After The Happy Ending by Handdaddyhoosier - Another author it’s worth reading their entire sledgefu collection. This one is also set after the war and is more domestic. A lot of fluff, a lot of slice of life, a lot of Sledge and Snafu dealing with homophobia and overcoming it (!!). Through it all Snafu and Eugene remain sooooo much in love that they’re stronger together and...yeah...it’s good. 

Christmas Even Will Find Me by SOMETHINREAL - My favorite canon compliant Sledgefu Christmas fic! It’s just perfect! Everybody is all together again after the war for Christmas and Eugene and Snafu are playing their own little dance between each other in the corner...they’re adorable. Plus there’s a happy ending!

Maybe You’ll Think Of Me When You’re All Alone by SOMETHINREAL - A very very good fix it fic for after the war. They’re both broken but they’re together and falling in love all over again, yay! I live for first pining and emotional kiss scenes and this is one of the best!

These Foolish Things Remind Me of You by Spoondragon - Merriell is quirky and weird and collects things and his last line in the fic is gOLD. Basically them being cute, with a first kiss. I highly rec ALL of spoondragon’s sledgefu fics!

To Make Much of Time by Hueligan - FIX THE TRAIN SCENE. I will read almost any variation of that train scene where Snafu makes it right, and this one does! AND THEN RUINS IT. So fair warning, you will fall in love with this fic but then it will break your heart. Kinda like Snafu. But it’s ok cause then you can go read one of the OTHER many fix it fics and mend it again.

Tilled Earth by Killerqueenie - Okay, this is one of my absolute FAVORITES. Snafu finds Eugene playing farmer boy in a small town outside of Mobile ten years after the war and Snafu signs himself on as a ranch hand. This one ACTUALLY fixes the train scene. Eugene is prickly and untrusting and Snafu has to earn his right to waltz back into his life. And oh gosh the love each other so so much!

The Magic Helmet by jspringsteen - Cute adorable and totally in character, canon compliant and not actually sledgefu except for some delightful hints that they are into each other more than they let on. It’s just such a great moment for Snafu’s character that I’ve reread this on multiple occasions.

All You Got by ssstrychnine - Another fix it fic (I know, I love these). This follows canon so well it’s seamless and only adds subtle touches of love between Gene and Snafu - so very believable as a part of the actual show. This author has four fics on AO3 for sledgefu and I suggest reading them all!

The Jazz Lights of New Orleans by Gracefully - Yet ANOTHER fix it fic! Give me them all!!!

Like It’s Only You And Me by SJTrinity - Snafu is an artist in this so of course I’m going to biased, but this is one of my absolute favorite college AU’s. All our favorite characters are there, including Bill, Burgie, Andy, and Eddie (and even Pops! as a fatherly figure to Snafu though he’s only referenced). Snafu is as chaotic as ever. The romance is hot! There are parts where I almost bust a gut laughing. Also anytime Eugene gets all haughty and bossy with his little furrowed brow over Snafu that’s like A+ for me.

Learning Curve by Seabright - ok THIS fic defines ultimate pining over Gene for me. I have never related to Snafu more. There’s a description of Eugene swimming in a pool that just..yeah...I have feelings. Anyway, it’s a college AU that is tragically UNFINISHED and will rip your heart out, BUT the same author also has a whole bunch of more canon related fic where the two of them do get together, so that eases the sting a little. 

F.M.L by @badgerms - I maybe have a thing for swimmers, but I love this swimming college AU especially because it’s in Gene’s POV but done so well that it feels real. This fic also delves into mental illness and mental self flagellation (there are some moments that hit REAL hard if you’ve ever had eating disorders). But on top of all that, I feel like lollki really captured what is so magnetic about Snafu, and by having Gene put him on this impossible pedestal it kinda reflects what a lot of us in the fandom do with his character. Snafu makes his existence look effortless and thoughtless, Gene is incredibly jealous of how Snafu just lives, their competition is ENTHRALLING.

The Kind Of Stuff That Only Prince Would Sing About  by @stolperzunge A coffee shop AU that has Sledge and Snafu just slowly and sweetly falling in love. This one is from Snaf’s pov and since I identify with him more you know I’m gonna love it lol! There are some GREAT funny lines, Snafu has personality in spades. Eugene is a grandad hipster type who also writes erotica....I dunno it’s all amazing go read it.

There Will Be Better Days by SydneyCarton - High school AU. As someone who had a fairly shitty high school experience and many bad holidays, this is...cathartic. Gene is definitely more the caretaker here, he saves Snafu in a way that’s just as strong as when he picked him up on the battlefield. But it’s all emotional, and Snafu is this scared prickly kid. And Gene is the honor roll kid who has to play the role of best friend secretly in love with the one person who matters most to them. This author never wrote anything else for Sledgefu and I wish they had!
