I've seen several fanfics say that the potion Azul gave Leona cause Leona to accumulate Ruggie's blot. It there anything in canon to back this up?

"Ruggie would have overblotted in Book 2 but Leona shouldered Ruggie's blot to save him" is a popular fan theory! ^^

For background: Ruggie used a lot of magic throughout Book 2, culminating in that potion from Azul that enabled him to overcome his own magical limitations, which sounds like it should be a big deal for blot accumulation (there is no reference in the game, manga or novel to the potion also sending Ruggie's blot to Leona: it only enhances his magic).

But Ruggie never seems to suffer any consequences to his physical or mental health while Leona, one of the objectively most powerful characters in the game, overblots after using his unique magic just once.

And we see Leona use King’s Roar a lot more during Book 6 in much more physically challenging conditions, while simultaneously being limited by the blot escaping the Underworld, all after using the thunder spear three times (twice by himself alone, while Riddle and Vil both received help each time).

This is often tied back into the theories that

1) there is a time loop happening where everyone is reliving the same incidents over and over again

2) Leona is aware of the loop to some degree: he may have already experienced a scenario where Ruggie overblotted and has been taking on Ruggie’s blot in every loop since then in order to keep it from happening again.

Looking at Ruggie’s backstory, all the effort he put into Book 2 and why, and how badly he was hurt when Leona crushed his dreams, Ruggie seems to have experienced just as much trauma and uses just as much magic (if not more, since his gets enhanced) as any of the others, and using their unique magics on too many people at once is exactly what led to overblot for Riddle, Azul and Jamil. These contemplations seems to be the main foundation for the theory, but that is all there is!

I have not been able to find any references to "mages can shoulder other people's blot" being canon, for example, so the entire process is possibly a fan-made invention that does not actually appear in the game, manga or novels (at this time 👀), with no confirmation that that is actually what happened. But it is interesting to think about ^^

Idk, Rook Hunt fans should tell me if I failed, idc much, really.

I think having him being the god of travel is interesting since I remember him saying his family travelled a lot? Or was it that they owned a traveling agency?? Idk.

But, I also liked the fact that he’s the god of languages, too, cause Rook Hunt is Atleast speaking a lot of french and is one of the few characters known to diverge from the normal language everyone is familiar with.

Then we have his great-grandkid who’s trying to spite the god’s for keeping her away from her lovely husband.

She’s a Yuu, loosely based off of Little Red Riding Hood, an idea I had a while back. She wasn’t in any actual relationship but her most important relationship was her rivalry with Rook and how much she hates him, which I find funny now that I’ve made them related.

She’s the only woman in her crew, so ofc she has to be the captain (/jk).

But…since her crew can be dumbasses (killing sheep, opening mysterious bags) she takes all the responsibility on herself.

I’d say in the beginning, she was willing to die for her crew, but around the song sung by the prophet from the Underworld, she kinda gains a more ruthless approach.

In Suffering, when the Siren (Jade faking to be Jamil) is faking to be her husband, just a glimpse of Jamil (no matter how poorly imitated) was enough to remind her who she was actually fighting for.

In Love in Paradise with Malleus, she feels sympathetic towards Malleus, but not enough to reciprocate or pretend to reciprocate his feelings.

I feel she just has a more calculative expression than Odysseus, making her look a bit colder than she feels.

She was born into royalty and Jamil was a guard. Yuu fell first and hard, while Jamil fell second and harder. Jamil currently rules as the King Consort, refusing to be crowned as the actual King of Ithaca, because he is sure his wife is coming back soon.

I’m unsure of other’s roles in Epic, though. I’m open to Riddle being Athena, since they both have similar personalities and character arcs. Vil strikes me as a Circe, because I can see Vil trying hard to protect people that follow him and are under his care. Crowley is Zeus. Thinking Crewel is Hera?? (Non romantic) Would LOVE Deuce/Ortho as Polites. Maybe Jack/Sebek as Telemachus?? And Carter as Apollo cause they’re both pretty boys.

Neige isn't one to be jealous easily, he's constantly surrounded by admirers so if anything you need to know what you're getting into once you decide to date him.

If you get jealous he'll apologize but Neige is far too nice to shoo off his fans. It's annoying, but you must understand that fame also has its flaws. Such as...this one.

He gets a little pouty if he sees you spending more time with someone else than him.

If its just a quick hello or a short conversation he doesn't mind. The boy isn't going to destroy your social life !

Of course he won't immediately show it when you're with that certain person but once he notices just how happily you're smiling in their company, Neige starts to have doubt.

He would understand the pressure of having to be with a star, he always needs to dress up so that people don't recognize him.

Help, I can't stop thinking about this Twisted Wonderland AU.....

Ok, hear me out.....every thing is the same.....Kinda.....but the Vice wardens ( plus Kalim ) Over bolt.....

Trey's family bakery gets a bad reputation from Riddle's mom....he's still Riddle's best friend, but deep down he held a grudge against Riddle's family from that day......

Events leading up to the duel between Ace, Deuce and Riddle.

Trey slowly gets overbolt

Slowly regretting his friendship between him and Riddle...

Watching Riddle waste one of his best pastries because of some stupid rule....

Having to see his parents business suffer......and having no power to help....

Hate having to hold his tongue when Riddle harshly punish a student.....

Him have to apologize on Riddle's behalf.....

Having to hold all that in......because his action will reflect on him as a person.....and his position as a dorm leader.

On the day of the Duel, Riddle was being a tyrant as usual......

But when the duel gets intense, him and Cater try to calm him down...... But Riddle never listens as always.....

Off with your head was gonna hit Ace, Deuce, MC, Grim..... That's when Trey cancel it out with his own magic...... Everyone in heartslaybul was stunned by Trey's action. Even Riddle was shocked..... But before Riddle could say anything

I think Trey's overbolt form would resemble something similar to the Mad Hatter from Alice in wonderland.......from the Disney animated movie of course.....

That's when Leona calls Ruggie out.....and in a short story, said that Ruggie is a no good thief, that only befriend Leona for his status and wealth....

This was Ruggie 's breaking point........after all of this?........no matter what he does............ He'll always be seen as a no good thief in the eyes of other.....

Ruggie's mind went blank....... And he overbolts....the only noise that came from him was that Hyena like laughter....

Ruggie's overbolt would be inspired my the three Hyenas from the Lion king......his clothes are ragged and has bone like accessories on him.....

After the overbolt he tries to talk things out with Leona.....it will take some time for Leona to trust Ruggie again....... He understands why Ruggie did the things he did........he still cares for Ruggie..... But needs time....

Now.....the moment Kalim fans have been waiting for.....

Now, as you see from the voice line that talked about him not being fazed about anything scary because of the amount of kidnapping..... Got me thinking.....

Jamil still used snake whispers on Kalim making him do some weird things........ And instead of manipulating just the dorm members, he manipulates Kalim too.....

Saying that someone here is using some kind of magic on him to make him act out of character.....An Assassin is in NRC......Kalim is fucking terrified, he thought that since he has Jamil with him and he's at a new school.....he would be safe..... No......no he wouldn't.......That's when the bolt starts....

And Kalim buys it......he slowly stressed out on who it could be.... He doesn't show it but becomes more suspicious of other students..... He sticks more to Jamil, he's the only person he can trust..........

Jamil slowly uses that paranoia and stress against Kalim, Making him lose trust in people...... When he met MC and Grim the lil sunshine was happy he can hang out with someone

And not worry about being assassinated.....That's until Jamil brought up the Idea that MC and Grim could be the assassins.....

Kalim didn't want to believe it........but he has witnessed lengths the kidnappers and Assassins would go just to get him.....so he commands dorm students to keep MC and Grim prisoners until the time being....The bolt continues....

When MC and Grim escaped from Scarabia and and came back with the Octotrio..... His opinion of the two changed........they're with students from NRC! They can't be Assassins! They're friends!....... Right.....

And for the passed several days.....nothing weird happened to Kalim! He was back to his old self!

That's what he thought when he suddenly found himself on the edge of the of the dorm lounge...... Almost falling to his death..... Jamil shout out his name to snap him out of it........The bolt is near its breaking point.

Kalim went running to Jamil..... Holding him tightly...... Crying.......he....he can't take it anymore! W..what if the next time he's like that.....he...he could.......

Kalim didn't want to think of that.....

And the Octotrio new what was up........and in the end caught Jamil in the act, with everyone witnessing his true colors.........even Kalim ...........

Kalim...... Was Furious, Betrayed, Relieved......so many emotions.......he can't believe it.......he trusted Jamil........ He could have killed him..........his own best friend........ Manipulated him......betrayed his trust......

The bolt is now over flowing......Kalim has overbolted

Kalim 's overbolt would most likely take inspiration from the Sultan from Aladdin......

After the overbolt, Kalim apologies to everyone....... But.....his friendship with Jamil is now rocky......... Like Leona....it will take him time to trust people again.........

For some fluff, the other school members have begun reading Sebek's books because the author is right there, and the novels are apparently very popular. (The exception to this is Cater, and Idia who have fans since the books dropped.)

Cater is super excited to see Riddle reading his favorite series. Riddle- embarrassed because he was caught reading a popular romance novel- explains that it is purely for research purposes. Cater assumes Riddle is looking for love advice, but is swiftly shut down when Riddle claims that Sebek is the author. This starts an entirely new debacle with Cater roping Trey, Ace, and Deuce into reading every single one of Sebek's books to figure out if Sebek could really be author Becky Z. Long story short, Trey gives a "yea, that tracks". (Trey then has to explain why it makes sense for Sebek to be Becky Z. First of all, Becky can easily be a nickname for Sebek, and -as romances are associated with female authors- this nickname could easily be interpreted as a female author even though the author's gender is clearly stated in the little biography on the back of the book. Secondly, the knight- who isn't even given a name in the book- is a carbon copy of Sebek. The fact that this character doesn't have a name is very concerning to Trey... His big brother senses are tingling. Thirdly, Sebek is Trey's cousin. His family has all of his books- signed and first edition- on their shelves. Trey just didn't read them because romance isn't really his genre.)

Ruggie starts reading the book because he notices that Jack has been hiding one of Sebek's books inside his textboook so that he can read during class. (If anything makes Jack ignore his studies, then it must be good.) Turns out, Ruggie gets hooked onto a mini spin-off series that happens in the same universe as the main series, and starts magicing the books so that they can read to him while doing Leona's chores. After the third play through of the mini-series, it caught leona's attention. He secretly borrowed a couple of the books, but couldn't really get into it. Props to the lizard kid for writing so much. Leona could never do all of that, and his respect for the noisy knight just when up ten fold.

Azul and the tweels found out during the movie casting, and immediately begin to formulate potential business deals. (Unbeknownst to Jade and Floyd, Azul secretly fawns over the romance and love tropes in the book. Idia ended up introducing him to fanfiction, and Azul stays awake at night reading.) Jade knows. Jade shouldn't know, but he does.

Kalim had heard of thhe series from Cater, but the books couldnt really keep his attention. He's more of an action adventure kind of reader. Jamil, on the other hand, is a special case. Azul may treat the books like a guilty pleasure, but Jamil treats the book like a forbidden temptation. He read the books before coming to NRC. He was obsessed. He embroidered the "lover's symbol" from the third book on the underside of his clothing, he reenacted the scenes in his room, he dreamed about being the first-born prince who could whisk away a beautiful blacksmith in the far reaches of an enemy kingdom. Doomed by the people around them, yet constantly saved by their own wit and cunning. He wished fighting back-to-back with his true love was his only concern instead of worrying about his families status as servants tip-toeing around a powerful merchant family.

Vil found out about the book because Sebek specifically requested that Vil play the first-born prince. (He's going to have to dye his hair dark, but playing the part of a hero would be worth the damaged strands.) Rook found out the same time Vil did which led to Epel figuring it out via Rook's cryptic comments. Rook- lover of all things beautiful- and Vil- chosen actor for Sebek's saga- spend hours reading the books and the script, and makes Epel practice with them. Sebek is one of Epel's friends, but he is suffering in Pomefiore. Please save him.

Idia is a huge fan. Idia practically died from cringe when he figured out that he argued with the actual author about the book's facts. (The feeling of Idia's mortification filled Ignyhide for months.) Ortho- on the other hand- is exceptionally excited. As a fellow first year, and member of the firsty squad, he gets to hang out with one of his big brothers favorite author's.

Diasomnia, as stated, doesn't know. Thus, when Sebek's newest book comes out, it's the NRC fans-new and old- who check up on him. The firsty squad immediately begins planning more sleepovers to help Sebek out. Riddle, akward soul that he is, tells Sebek that he can talk to him if he needs to, and even offers Sebek a room in Heartslabyul. Leona may not care for the books, but his freshman is worried, and Ruggie is worried, and his pomefiore kit is worried which rilles him up. He slogged through that last book to understand the entire situation. Half of Savanaclaw had to hold him back from killing that stupid lizard, and taking his ward. If that prince can't keep his knight happy then Leona is happy to pamper his new bodyguard. Octavinelle had no idea what to do. Azul wanted to help, but he doesn't know how. He offers Sebek some coupons for a free meal, and brings up the situation to the other house wardens- whom already know- and they end up brainstorming how to help. (Leona's vote for murder was not added to the official list.) Scarabia- basically just Kalim- decided to throw Sebek a party for getting a movie adaptation. (Jamil was positive this wouldn't help, so he helped Sebek sneak out when it all got to be too much. Sebek's next book absolutely destroyed Idia, and Ortho has made it his mission to constantly check on Sebek's wellbeing. (Scanning the young knight's health every time they meet might be a violation of some sort of law...)

The only ones who actually manage to help Sebek after his new book comes out are Trey and Cater. Trey literally just kidnaps Sebek, and takes him to heartslabyul for some ice cream, movies, and talk. Cater sets up the movie while Trey and Sebek have a mini heart to heart. Sebek admits to feeling inferior compared to other fae knights and even feeling inferior to Silver. Silver- a human- who was accepted by the fae court before Sebek was accepted due to his halfling status. Silver, who gets to share strange brother moments with Malleus like sticking a wet finger in Malleus's ear, or having a bucket of slim dumped on his head when Malleus pranked him back. Silver, who is constantly praised by his father while Sebek's parents worry about him following a knightship. Silver, who gets all the attention even though he doesn't do as much as Sebek does. Trey- who can listen, sympathize, and give Sebek ice cream- doesn't know how to help Sebek feel better or overcome his trial. Cater does. Cater sits next to Sebek and tells him about his older sisters. He tells him about the guilt of feeling inferior, the sorrow, the pain. He tells him how hard it is to overcome that feeling, and then he explains that he only began to feel free when he left for NRC. Here, he felt like he could be himself. He tells Sebek that he cannot guarantee that the same method would work for him, but if Sebek ever wants to talk or if he decides that he wants a clean break for a bit, Cater is willing to help. After this talk, Sebek stays at Heartslabyul.

Suffice to say, his next book is a lot more hopeful.

Sebek but he has a little hobby/job on the side. Maybe he's a writer and his novels are really good, famous even).

Like people literally cosplay his characters, write fanfics and nobidy knows that Sebek wrote this book. Like, it doesn't come up in casual conversation often so nobody even has a chance to be suspicious.

At some point though, maybe Idia is arguing with someone about the novel, he gets something wrong and Sebek corrects him. Idia naturally thinks that Sebek doesn't know what he's talking about only for Sebek to point out a chapter that proves his point.

From then on, Idia sort of thinks of Sebek as a novel buddy, he knows he's a bit strict but maybe it's a case of him being shy about his hobbies, Idia understands (he doesn't).

Then, maybe a movie adaptation is introduced and Vil is auditioning for a role, for some reason it becomes a school event (maybe casting for extras) so everybody comes along. Then, when it's time for the casting directors and the author to come out, everybody just sees Sebek come out and are confused.

can you (or followers) pls explain some of the small elements the EN version censored? i only recently started playing and i'm very curious.

Of course Anon! I've been playing the game for almost two years now, the anniversary is in March for Japanese game by the way. I'll try to give you a clear answer, however I must mention that, as far as I've read, there are not many censored elements —they've changed the language and the slangs instead. I'm going to point the main differences we've seen until now.

[This post will be under constant edition. I'll add things as I notice]

First of all, I want to clear that there is no lgbt stuff censored in TWST. That is something many people have been spreading through the Internet but they are mistaken, most of their affirmations are based upon Headcanons or Fan-canons. Even though there are hints to playful suggesting commentaries (Cater is the most popular among the topic, actually), there is nothing explicit and not a single of those facts is actually canon.

Kalim and Jamil's Personal Story (aka Vignette). Their true relationship is the one similar to Master and Slave, since Jamil was raised as his attendant since his family has served Asim's family for generations, and despite Kalim considering him a dear friend and almost a brother (which is actually said in stories yet to come to EN version as well as Episode/Book 4), Jamil thinks of him as a burden more than a friend, he likes him only a bit though.

Sam's tattoos were removed due to cultural context, which is non-existent in the original game and treated as another design since it is a reference to Dr. Facillier and voodoo practice. In the EN version, they took that representation out of the game so people who actually practice voodoo won't find it offensive, since it is not the purpose of this game.

They changed "Madols" to "Thaumarks". The name of "Madol" could be defined as a short word composed by "Magic" (魔法 Mahō) and "Dollars", Ma/dol. If we're following the same logic, Thaumarks could be defined the same, "Thaumaturgy" is a word used to define the ability to perform magic or miracles (an equivalent to "Mahō"), "Marks" used to be a unit of account over England's area and a coin in Germany before being replaced whit Euros; Thau/marks.

Trey's Unique Magic was another noticeable change many fans didn't like. It's a small thing though, but it was kind of weir to change the name to "Paint the Roses" from "Doodle Suit". I don't know why, though, but translators/Disney may have their reasons for it.

Cater Diamond and Idia Shroud language. Cater is a person fixed with social media, he's always carrying his phone talking about the latest trends, using slangs and terms you'd usually write while chatting with someone or in gaming; while Idia talks literally like an "average" hardcore otaku will talk, he talks with acronyms and some "cringy" words or sentences —now, this is not censorship, is a literal translation of how an english-speaker will use this terms in their own language, their japanese lines are basically the same in these language. They only tried to put there some terms like the "like-suscribe" thing.

Some characters are way too 'kind' compared with their version in the game. TWST is based upon Villains, alas we're not expecting them to be kind and sweet from the beginning —this was one of the first fixes they made on the emergency maintenance during the second day of the game.

This is not censorship itself, but they made somewhat softer the way Riddle's mother treated him —they made it seem harsher in the original version. But the story is basically the same.

Chen'ya didn't suffer any change at all but the name, which is written this way by those who fan-translated the game; now, the name in Japanese is "Alchemi Alchemivich Pinka" because that's how it was written in katakana, so I am going to clear this point as a person who speaks and understand how japanese works: katakana is used for outside words BUT WE USE IT TO WRITE PRONUNCIATION, which means if we read the word as "Waver" it is written as "Weiba", why? Because the pronunciation in english is actually "weɪvɚ". So it makes sense he's named "Artemiy Artemiyevich Pinker" AND it makes sense you're confused if you come from JP ver. since R could be interpreted as L because we don't have an L in japanese. If you change R for L in the fan translations it says "Archemi Archemivich Pinker", as for the "Pinker" instead of "Pinka" is because you actually don't pronounce "-er" as dry as it goes.

A noticeable change is the interaction between Sebek and Malleus. Sebek respects Malleus to the point he even owns a painting of him in his room, he always refers to him as "The Young Master", "My Young Lord" or "Lord Malleus". At the English version, he refers to Malleus just as Malleus, only certain chapters of the MS or PS's of another characters he refers to him as "Master". This is a huge failure for translators since it looks like there were different teams in charge of it, and they actually never came in contact with each other, there why we have so many fluctuations.

Floyd Leech's nickname for MC/Yuu. In the original version, he calls us "Koebi-chan" which can be translated as "Little shrimp" ("Shrimpy" for his pals haha). While at EN version they actually avoided the nickname, at least I've seen so in the few chapters of him I've read both MS and PS. They've respected some of his nick's like the one he has for Riddle

How will the boys react to people who mistreated pokemon or abused them that pokemon will attack there trainers because the pokemon can't handle anyone more abused or pokemon that were abandoned as for some trainer said ( for being weak, ugly, not the evolution they wanted)

I think one of the things that Soni prepares them for is that Pokemon, like all living beings, are to be treated with respect. However, that doesn't mean everyone follows that idea back home, which leads to the discussion of what happens with Pokemon that have such trainers. Soni can understand Pokemon, so whenever she has to recount the stories or even think of the idea, it makes her uneasy. She's met the Pokémon in the Pokémon Village, which only reinforces that idea.

As for the others...

Ace and Deuce would be the first to hear about this, both being suitably horrified by it, especially when they look at their Pokemon and the idea of being mistreating them. Ace might get a flashback to that time in the mines with Aegis and Mila while Deuce is just deeply thinking about Happiny in that position.

Grim, despite his demeanor, is silent and is listening carefully. I feel like because Grim was alone for a long time, he gets the concept of being abandoned.

Off the top of my head, Riddle, Jack, and Azul would be angry at the idea of someone mistreating Pokemon.

Riddle knows how the expectations of having to reach a certain height can crush someone with his own experiences based on his own past. Jack and his sense of justice would definitely get pissed off because even if the Pokemon didn't reach those heights, it was never anyone's right to mistreat Pokemon. I can see Azul imagining Trainers being in the same vein as his bullies that mocked him in his appearance. Azul would be kinder to Pokemon that dealt with those people, although he wouldn't show it openly. A more subtle thing.

Kalim would be upset at that and feel like making a place where those Pokemon who suffered that sort of injustice would be happier. Jamil would resonate with those Pokemon that had lashed out and couldn't trust Trainers at all, mostly based on his own experiences in the Asim Family as a servant.

Vil wants the people around him to reach their true potential, meaning that he pushes them to reach those ideals. He may seem harsh, but he never would stoop to this level. Thinking of Bidoof in this position made him immediately go, "I dislike this," especially when Soni mentions how some people back home weren't huge fans of Bidoofs.

Leona would see this and feel surprised by the fact that something so powerful would cower towards a Trainer. Soni mentions how some Pokemon would attack people indiscriminately due to their trauma and their fear. Leona can understand that much.

God, this is even funnier and more chaotic if it was Grim’s fault that got Darling in this mess in the first place. Aside from the embarrassment that you would inevitably suffer right after, this random singing curse of yours doesn’t seem to be too bad especially when you get to see the interesting reactions you get from others. Though, most of the times it’s just pure confusion on their faces as they don’t have a single clue on what the hell you’re singing, since it never existed in their world.

Yes all of the characters that overbloted deserve the most pampering.

For my ocs, I'm glad that you like them very much! Since twst characters canonically aged up in the pomefiore arc, the age one is outdated so only Aoi is the minor left. Again, you don't need to feel guilty if you have feelings/have fantasies for Aoi or any other twst that's underage if their age isn't why you're attracted to them and don't condone underage sex. As long as you see them as at 18+ of age like I do, then fantasising about them is a-ok!
