when for rent comes out I’m gonna recreate my building with the guy that vomits at the back door every morning and the guy that smokes inside the elevator and the woman that interrupts every conversation with her annoying ass dog and the landlord that truly doesn’t gaf if you live or die and the no thoughts head empty mfs that don’t know how to park their cars and
my parents are moving out of the house I grew up in and it's making me feel a certain way even though I have my own house to which I'm happily emotionally attached so it's not like I'm being ~uprooted~ or anything. haven't lived there or thought of it as My Home in years. but they sold that fucker FAST so part of me is still like damn I won't even get to visit to say goodbye... gaze upon my parents' questionable interior paint colors one last time...
when we moved into our current apartment, the current residents left two loveseats & a recliner, which was convenient because they're p good quality & it saved us having to buy living room furniture right away, but also they're all beige and the carpet is beige and the walls are white and our ikea bookshelves are white and the blinds are white and this week my brain has chosen to flail and thrash in protest at the lack of color in our living room, but guess what, brain!! we just got a puppy & keep spending money on her, so we don't get to redecorate the entire living room right now! you'll just have to live with it!!!!!
when we were like, 19/20, me and my friend's fav drinking spot was this ~alternative~ bar in town that we liked for a lot of reasons, including just the general vibes, and the fact the staff were rly friendly (and also p chill abt ppl smoking weed in the beer garden lol..) ..but most of all bcos it had a digital jukebox, that played the songs u chose over the speakers both inside and out in the beer garden 😈
we used it Constantly (altho i can't rly remember what we used to play anymore, but i know the bar staff complimented us on our choices a lot 😆) and so this one night, i queued up a bunch of the cure's songs and then went back to the bar, where this 50 or 60 y/o dude in a royal mail uniform started talking to me and my friend?? 😮
he told us abt how he'd been a ~full on goth~ when he was younger, and that altho he didn't rly have time for it anymore he still loved the music!! so we talked abt bands for aaages and he even bought us a couple of drinks.. but what i've always regretted is that he told us his all time fav band was bauhaus and was soooo enthusiastic abt them.. but i hadn't got into them at the time ☹️
he was p excited abt the prospect of converting me and my friend into fans of them lmao, and it wasn't long after that that i finally did listen to them and fell in love.. but unfortunately we never saw him in there again to let him know...... 😔💔
