Morning Sunday Lovelies… This beautiful photograph, yes it’s a photo not an oil painting, is by the lovely Anliette, one of my dearest friends and incredibly talented photographers, based in Sydney. . Anliette has already received international acclaim being featured in photography magazines globally and today she is launching her stunning website full of her amazing creations… @erthe_store. 🍃🌱🌿 . What impresses me most about her work, like this beautiful piece, “Burnt Candy”, are the methods she uses to create her photographs. Incredibly this piece has no digital enhancements, it’s photography in the purest form. 🌸🌼 . The technique used here is by an intricate method of preserving the poppy blossoms and later ‘freezing’ them to achieve a different textured opaque, or clear ice effect. 💧 . Right - I'll confess, this photograph is two years old TO THE DAY... I've just been sitting on a hundred of photos of daffodils, from bud to bloom, and have only gone and made a very (Heath Robinson) 'time lapse' with them! (go see my YouTube LINK IN PROFILE) ⠀ ⠀ Oh - this was quite a project - we shot these MANY stills of daffodils over a period of four days... and think you'll agree, this passes for a #sgiew_fresh right @PennyWincer? (still time to join in with that #sgiew hashtag if you fancy it!)⠀ ⠀ We tried to make a stop FRAME/timelapse video back then and just couldn't get it to work - so today we had a go with StopMotion app on the iPhone.⠀ ⠀ Why did it take so long to photograph? We set the camera up in front of the Daffodils, and using a blue tooth remote control, took LOTS of photographs over a period of four days... there was a small-child-bumping-incident at one point, (where we almost gave up on the project) and the battery ran out on the camera too - luckily we had been using a tripod so we were able to return the camera to more or less the same spot!⠀ ⠀ But can you believe it takes four days from bud to bloom?! I usually do yoga on Fridays, that is one of the only days that my favorite yoga session is on the schedule. I have never been a big fan of yoga in the past, I always found it a bit boring, but I discovered a yoga studio that was able to combine hardcore training with yoga and oldschool hip-hop.
