okay I love the art I’ve been seeing of Jaune finding Juniper as a kitten and caring for them until they grow up into a big strong jackalope
but I’m also wondering whether it was the other way around, similar to Ruby and Little
like, Juniper finds Jaune going through it on that beach and decides
“Oh, wow. I don’t know what you are, but you’re in a bad way. You could use some company. How about I stay with you for a while and make sure you’re all right?”
‘a while’ then turned into decades, but hey, Juniper looks like they’re having a pretty good time
#and they don't appear to have anything else going on#we don't see juniper in jaune's flashback but if they were the one who went for help then we know they must have been there#before alyx and lewis got there#juniper rwby#jaune arc#rwby9#rwby spoilers#kaen's posts

RWBY Beyond Journal Jaune
(Potential Spoilers Warning)
Won't say I agree with everything they stated here, like Jaune not identifying himself as the Rusted Knight at all. I do think he views himself as said person, I just don't think he views said time as something of worthy note.
I'd argue he'd view it no differently then how viewed himself during Beacon. As in he saw it as a span of time where he failed.
I do like that Nora basically proclaims Jaune as the Rusted Knight all the time.
Now unto the real points of note to me... Alyx and Lewis, okay, so I figured Jaune was close to them, but DAMN! He legitimately cared about them, like to the point where he felt like they were as important as him teammates.
Which goes on to show why Alyx's betrayal hurt all the more and now makes me really like that at the end Alyx couldn't leave because of the guilt she felt.
Also we got confirmation that Jaune was in the Ever After for well over 80 Years! as Alyx and Lewis came from before the Great War! Which was 80 years ago (Vytal festival taken place 40 time and is held every 2 years to celebrate the end of the great war)
Which Whoa! That sorta all but confirms what I thought about aura and Jaune's semblance effect of someone's body. Definitely reduced the effects of aging since Jaune is at Minimum 99 by this logic.
Which is fucking insane, and definitely another plothole but one I would rather use as it's fucking awesome!
my favorite blonde looks good for someone pushing 100! Like Fuck!
Also the fact that Lewis and Alyx are Vacuian is a nice detail, also how they came from a time before Huntsman... Like What!? Hunters are only a recent thing that've existed within the last century!?
I love the little bit we can draw from the pictures, realizing that Alyx wasn't just a mean little girl. in fact she was really more like Ruby or Yang, excitable, curious and a bit pushy with her shyer brother Lewis. Jaune wasn't kidding when she said she changed...

You know, because it's hard to give a massive amount of character in one post, I'm gonna list stuff about alternate rusted knights here
Repentant Thief: Emerald Sustrai, desperate for company used her semblance to hallucinate her friends/allies. Over time as her memory of them began failing, the illusions became flatter, more generic in their kindness and support, and at some points she truly believes that's what RWBY and Co. were like, while at others she can't stand the sight of them, the inaccuracies making her sick to her stomach.
She waits for her Heroes. The ones that saved her before.
She wears leather armor with a Leather helm that covers the lower portion of her face, with a large cloak and hood over all of it. her pants are very similar to previoupairs, simply plainer and sturdier. She has traded heels in for full hiking boots.
~~~~~
Fathomless Angler: Clover Ebi, now an old man, has grown tired, very, very tired. So tired he no longer cares to find a way out, and lets time slip by - He never read The Girl that fell Through the World, his knowledge of it's tale being minimal. He figures this is some twisted afterlife, that he'd done wrong fighting Qrow and has to let himself be punished for fighting his friend.
He Waits, as catching a fish is mostly waiting for it to take the bait. He's still trying to figure out his fish.
Clover wears a faded, dusty Atlesian coat, meant to have water and snow slide right off, with a large scarf and slick bucket hat. due to lack of care, his beard has grown long and scraggly, a veritable bush of salt and pepper. He wears Waders in place of his old Military boots.
~~~~~
The Cobalt Knight (Oxidized Cobalt): Alyx, upon deciding to amend her mistakes in the Ever After was assaulted by The Curious Cat. Jaune Arc, the Rusted Knight, still sick from the poison rushed to her aid. In the end, Alyx was saved, and the cat slinked away to lick it's wounds.
Jaune's didn't make it, and was swallowed by the tree.
Alyx, unable to heal him, to fix this mistake took up his weapons and trained. She was smart - out maneuvering and outsmarting the cat for years until she was able to fight it directly. Then they stayed apart, the Cat not wanting to risk themself, and Alyx not wanting to her own life in revenge.
Alyx waits for the same reasons Jaune did - Guilt, anger, self-loathing, and a need to help RWBY, with all the same weapons he fought with; Mind, Sword, and Shield.
She wears armor like Jaune's only simpler, and lighter, and in FAR better condition - only a little dirty and scuffed.
~~~~~
The Frosted Empress (Lonely): Weiss Schnee, Knowing all she had to do was wait, did just that. She waited. and Waited. And waited. She did her best to stay stable, she practiced arts, she kept up her training, she began to speak to herself in off moments, she never got along with people too much liker herself so Alyx was a handful to deal with.
She oscillates between a very sweet, matronly figure, and an Icy, bitchy Vol-1-esque personality, with moments of lucidity being not too uncommon.
This Weiss wears very simply constructed outfits - basic chain mail and dresses, with immense ornamentation, and a veil, like one would wear at a funeral. She has many different trinkets - leaves, feathers, jewelry and what not.
~~~~~
The Wilted Rose: Ruby Rose fell into the Ever After, and Suffered. She fought as much as she always had, but with no support, no clear goal and the weight of her failings crushing her, Alyx and Lewis were the Straws that broke the Camel's back.
She Ascended into the one person she knew could do anything.
Summer rose.
As motherly and sweet as ever, this rose has thorns only for The Curious Cat - even if she can't remember why.
She looks like an older Summer. With like, very graying hair. It's just Summer Rose.

Ruby telling this story in front of the whole Remnant Alliance, using Robyn’s Lie Detection to prove what she’s telling them is the truth, inspired by this post:
ROBYN: So what happened on the other side of the portals?
RUBY: Well, after I fell, I met a talking mouse I named Little, then we found Weiss and Blake captured by a whole village of talking mice whom we convinced to let them go, then we found Yang fighting a Jabberwalker while missing her arm, then we realized we were in our favorite childhood fairy tale, The Girl Who Fell Through the World.
OSCAR: That fairy tale actually happened?
RUBY: Then we went to the village in the Crimson Acre to bargain with the Jinxy Peddler for Yang’s arm.
EMERALD: You met the Jinxy Peddler?
VELVET: Was he cute?
WEISS: Yeah.
RUBY: And he was older than he was in the book. Anyway, toy soldiers won the arm, and we only got it back from them because Little tried stealing another “fine treasure”, exposing Jinxy’s treasures as fakes. The soldiers escorted us to the Crimson Castle, at first to arrest us for stealing Yang’s arm, or “royal property”, before I traded Penny’s sword, with a story of her being the greatest warrior to ever live.
REMNANT ALLIANCE:
RUBY: The occasion was the birthday of who we thought was the Red King, but turned out to be the Red Prince, who was more of a spoiled brat than Weiss was at Beacon.
YANG: (nudging Weiss) Heh-heh.
RUBY: Then we challenged him to a game of chess, where he shrunk the girls to the size of chess pawns, and when we beat him, he threw a tantrum and wanted us beheaded, and the Curious Cat rescued us.
NORA: The Curious Kitty?!
REN: Were they as chatty as the book made them out to be?
RUBY: Mm-hm. Not to mention easily distracted. Anyway, they took us to look for ingredients for a Growgurt Parfait in the Garden Acre, and we met a smoking caterpillar called Herb who drugged us into seeing our past selves via leaves from the Great Tree, which we all rejected, well, which the other girls rejected, I almost gave in, before the Cat stopped me, then got Herb swallowed by a hole in the ground.
TAI: You guys did drugs?
QROW: Whoa, whoa, don’t start drinking like me, girls.
RUBY: Anyway, the Cat led us to a market to keep looking for the Parfait ingredients. Along the way, they told us about Ascension, a process that occurs when an Afteran is no longer doing the assigned role that they are supposed to be, triggered by them losing their ways, wearing out, doubting themselves, or even just finishing their assigned tasks, upon which they are taken to the Great Tree and repurposed into someone or something else with a new identity, personality, and role. Their memories are erased in the process, but the heart barely ever forgets.
REMNANT ALLIANCE: Ooh.
RUBY: And then, the market was attacked by Jabberwalkers using Neopolitan’s Semblance. We had all of the ingredients for the Parfait, and the girls grew back to normal size just as we got assistance from the Rusted Knight riding his white rabbit.
WHITLEY: You know, Weiss had a crush on the Rusted Knight when she was a kid.
BLAKE: I think everyone had a crush on the Rusted Knight at some point.
RUBY: Well, things didn’t help when he turned out to be a grown-up Jaune with longer hair and a beard, who grabbed a fruit that sent him back in time twenty years right after he landed.
REMNANT ALLIANCE:
NORA: Oh, my Gods, Jaune.
JAUNE: I was stuck there isolated from other human contact, too.
YANG: Weiss certainly loved how mature he was.
RUBY: And the white rabbit was a jackalope Jaune named Juniper.
NORA: Aw, Jaune.
RUBY: Then Jaune told us his perspective on the Tree, that he believed it was death, that Alyx backstabbed her brother Lewis, the author of the fairy tale, who wrote the story the way he wished it had happened, and that the Cat couldn’t be trusted, then we got sent to a punderstorm, which creates a physical manifestation of a mental or emotional problem. Jaune, Weiss, and I were sent to metaphorical and literal crossroads, while Yang and Blake were sent to two broken, wooden, rickety bridges connected to a giant pillar they could only advance toward if they were honest about their feelings for each other. Yeah, Yang and Blake are girlfriends now.
REMNANT ALLIANCE:
NORA: See, Ren? I told you there was more going on!
KALI: Our baby girl found love?
TAI: With my sunny little dragon?
RAVEN: She really is your daughter, then, Tai.
RUBY: Then the Cat bailed on us after mistaking us for selfishly using them to get home, and once the storm passed, Jaune let us spend the night in his house in the Origami Acre, then he introduced us the next morning to a village of paper stars called the Paper Pleasers whose purpose was finished and kept trying to go to the Tree to gain a new purpose, but Jaune had been stopping them for as long as he knew them. Then Neo’s Jabberwalkers attacked, and while we were distracted, the Paper Pleasers finally managed to commit mass suicide via destroying the koi pond dam, then when the girls asked me to help comfort Jaune, I blew up at them for caring more about everyone else’s feelings or getting home, and taking my mental health for granted and ignoring my suffering…
REMNANT ALLIANCE:
WBY+J:
RUBY: …then I ran away, came across the Abandoned Acre, and entered a random mansion, where Neo had made clone illusions of Roman Torchwick, Penny, Pyrrha, Professor Lionheart, Clover, Professor Ozpin, and General Ironwood, and used them to physically and psychologically destroy me, and when the chaos was over, I didn’t want to be me anymore, not helped by Torchwick’s question: “Do you really think you can stand to watch more of your friends fall, or are you ready to admit the truth? That the world would just be better off without you?”
REMNANT ALLIANCE (passing tissues around):
RUBY: Then Neo offered me tea made from leaves from the Tree intended to wipe me from existence, then the Cat blasted her away, but then turned out to be evil and tried to possess me, then Neo fought them off and stomped Little to death, then I drank the tea, offing myself, and got swallowed by the Tree.
YANG: (tearing up) Oh, Rubes.
RUBY: Then I met a Blacksmith, who I also found at the market, or, rather, she found me, and then she presented me with a choice to either be someone else or myself. I saw my mom’s weapon and was treated to a vision of the night she left with Raven on another one of Ozpin’s secret missions and never came back.
TAI: (turns accusingly at…) Raven?
RAVEN: (sheepishly) Uh, surprise?
HARE: (to Ruby) Wait. What did you say your mother’s name was again?
RUBY: Summer.
HARE: (muttering) So, her uncle is Qrow, her father is Taiyang, and her sister’s mother is Raven. All are members of Team STRQ. Summer, Summer, Summer… (out loud) Summer Rose, the leader of Team STRQ, was your mother?
REMNANT ALLIANCE (walla): Summer?…Summer Rose?…The previous silver-eyed Huntress?…That’s Summer Rose’s daughter?
RUBY: Yeah. And then, I finally chose to be myself and grow into a better Huntress. And I. Came. Back, and helped the girls fight the evil Cat. And we won.
REMNANT ALLIANCE:
RUBY: And then Neo killed the Cat with the Jabberwalkers, who, by the way, are the only creatures to prevent Ascension if they eat Afterans. And, according to the girls, Neo was possessed by the Cat, and she chose to accept Torchwick’s death and undergo her own Ascension. Oh, and Little ascended, too, into who we called Somewhat, and succeeded Jaune as the protector of the Ever After. And then, we had made it to the Tree, and we walked through the door back home, landed inside the plane of the Tree met the Blacksmith again at her workshop, and when we noticed two statues of the Brother Gods, she told us their backstory. That the Ever After was overfilled with plants and dangerous wildlife in its primordial years, but the Brothers were created to clear it out. Then they created the Afterans as well as the different acres for them to live in. They designed new creations that would replace them in maintaining the Ever After. This was how the Cat was created. They later created the Jabberwalker as a form of destruction. However, the two disagreed on whether it disrupted the balance or not and began to wage war.
OSCAR: (scoffs) What else is new?
RUBY: The Blacksmith told us how balance isn’t supposed to be two opposing forces locked in battle; balance is an ecosystem, an organism, and a living thing, thus balance isn’t restored with force or manipulation, it’s restored naturally, requiring love and patience to see it through to the end. The Gods got to Remnant because the Ever After created a door to a “greater beyond” for the Gods, so they can leave and experiment in creating new worlds as much as they like.
NORA: (snickering) So the Tree basically said, “You think you have life sorted out? Then get out of my house”?
RUBY: Pretty much.
TEAM RWBY, JAUNE, AND REMNANT ALLIANCE:
YANG: (wiping a tear) Oh, my Gods, that’s such a hilarious way of looking at it. Thanks, Nora.
RUBY: Anyway, the Blacksmith told us that we have impacted the Ever After significantly; just like Somewhat, Alyx, and Lewis, and that the Cat caused a bad impact, and then she made us a portal in the desert on the outskirts of the city, and now you’re all caught up.

In today’s episode, Jaune revealed that Lewis and Alyx were actually residents of Vacuo Kingdom (surprise, surprise) during a time before the Great War. And since we know that Lewis actually returned from the Ever After, it make wonder something curious.
If Lewis was the author of the Girl Who Fell Through the World fairy-tale then it would make perfect sense as to why he omitted himself from the written adventures in the Ever After and chose to make Alyx the protagonist. It makes sense since, unlike Lewis, Alyx never returned home and basically “died” in the Ever After.
So my assumption is that Lewis must’ve maintained his sister’s story through his story about her. That way Alyx’s legacy was able to live on in some shape or form despite the real Alyx practically ceasing to exist after never returning home.
Since Jaune was shown to still be have some qualms over his time in the Ever After, it got me thinking.
What if…Jaune were to (somehow) discover the original journal of Lewis which he had used to record his experience in the Ever After in the Vacuo archives?
What if…Jaune were to meet someone closely connected to Lewis and Alyx while in Vacuo? Like a surviving member of their family bloodline still thriving in modern Remnant.
What if… Headmaster Theodore was that surviving member? I know the main popular theory is that Lewis was one of Ozma’s reincarnations but imagine if Lewis wasn’t an Ozma reincarnation but Theo’s ancestor instead?
I haven’t read either of the RWBY After the Fall books so I’m not familiar with Headmaster Theodore in terms of characterization or like what his backstory is.
That being said, I do, however like the idea of the final maiden being connected to Theo in some shape or form.
For me, I like the prospect of the Summer Maiden being either Theo’s daughter or younger sister or cousin or niece or some important person to him as she’s probably the only family he has left.
Again, I don’t know anything about Theo but thus far, none of the other headmasters of the huntsmen academies have had any reason to be protective of their respective maiden outside of a moral obligation as per Ozpin’s instructions.
To make Theo stand out more, I think it would be a nice change of pace if Theo, the final headmaster, were to share an actual connection to the final maiden as she is a beloved relative of his.
Why bring this up? Well I like the idea of Jaune forming a close relationship with another Maiden candidate. Maybe he could even fall in love with the Summer Maiden.
Technically, Jaune hasn’t had a legit love interest since Pyrhha and I don’t know about ya’ll but…after six seasons (and half a movie), I’m kind of tired of being reminded of Arkos, ya’ll.
It was the Ship that was meant to be that never got to be because Writers decided to kill it off early.
Don’t get me wrong. I love Arkos. Arkos was a great ship that was gone too soon.
To (finally) close the chapter on Jaune moving on from Pyrhha (since even after all of his growth, I still don't think he's over her as the show keeps constantly bringing up whenever they can)...
I think it actually might be cute if Jaune does end up being romantically involved with the Summer Maiden who he actually succeeds in protecting from Cinder when she comes to steal her powers.
I’ve grown tired of new maidens showing up in the story just to die for the sake of the powers being passed onto a main character.
Since Summer is the last maiden, it would be nice if Summer is the one to stop the cycle of original maiden deaths and she actually gets to live on even after opening the vault.
As much as I like WhiteKnight as a ship, I honestly gave up on it becoming canon after V5 dropped and nothing else was done to further develop Weiss and Jaune’s relationship as a prospective romance.
Yeah sure, V9 tossed us a crumb of Weiss being attracted to Jaune in his more mature Rusted Knight persona.
But after further deliberation, I’ve concluded that that little nugget of hope isn’t enough to get me back on the horse of hoping for a romance between these two.
Do you know what would actually be pretty wild?
If Jaune fell in love with the Summer Maiden who is not only a red-head (like Pyrhha) but is also a descendent of Lewis who is the author of the Girl Who Fell Through the World and thus a relative of Alyx.
And unlike Alyx and Pyrhha who Jaune failed to protect/help/save, Jaune is able to do just that with the Summer Maiden by protecting her from Cinder and thus, the two are able to live happily ever after.
That would actually be wild.
Not saying this would become true in the canon. I'm just tossing it out into the RWBY FNDM ether as a food for thought.

Nice detail to know that Alyx and Lewis are from Vacuo from way before it got all it's resources depleted so it was still a pretty prosperous oasis, so they can dress all fancy.
Yup. Jaune is even surprised they're from Vacuo because nothing about their design says Vacuo or hardship or desert at all. They probably grew up happy, perhaps even rich.
And the Great War would also explain how and why The Girl Who Fell Through the World became enough of a fairy tale that they didn't know who the author was. Things got jumbled up and suddenly this fairy tale story from Vacuo (who cares who wrote it, it's from Vacuo, we'll just put in a disclaimer that it's "based on a Vacuo legend" and republish it as ours) is everywhere, but no one knows or even thinks that it might have been the creation of a single person. After all, fairy tales don't have authors. Alyx wasn't real anyway.

Any interests in the theory that Theodore was Lewis? We know Lewis and Alyx were Vacuan, and time in the EA is a mess. Lewis was about 10 or so, Theo is at most 50 cuz he was the oldest Headmaster and Ozpin was the youngest and hired youngest and was Headmaster when STRQ was at Beacon. Lewis could've popped out of the EA 30-40 years before episode 1 and made a new identity for himself.
Lewis cannot possible be Theodore. The timeline doesn’t fit in the slightest
The Girl Who Fell Through The World is at least as old as Alice In Wonderland is in our world, making it at least 150 years old. In fact, TGWFTTW is probably older, because it’s old enough that nobody even knows the author’s name. It’s got the same mythology as the Grimm fairy tales do in our world, where they’ve just been around forever
So there is no possible way that Lewis is Theodore. He’d have to be about 200 years old, at the very least
Sorry. The math just doesn’t work

it amuses me how RWBY Beyond was advertised as "see what was happening in Remnant during V9, while RWBYJ were in Ever After", and yet the 2nd episode out of 4 of the series is about what Jaune was doing after V9. yeah, he talks about stuff that happened during V9 (or, technically, before, since it's about events from when he was with Alyx and Lewis), but the whole thing still takes place post V9, with him telling all those stuff to Oscar.
and then there's the 1st episode, which, while indeed taking place during V9, is just comedy filler, that supposedly continues with detectives joke from RWBY Chibi (I never watched RWBY Chibi, I only heard from other people that that show also had Sun and Neptune act like detectives) with no actual relevant info about what was happening with Vacuo, or the Atlas and Mantle refugees, or how people and the ruler of Vacuo were handling a whole ass nation of people just suddenly dropping onto their doorstep, or anything like that. the only sort of plot relevant info was showing that Summer Maiden is in Vacuo, but then again, her identity was still hidden from us and Kerry quickly jumped off from that plot point as soon as it was introduced with his """hilarious""" "nuh-uh, no more new characters lmao XD" line.
this 2nd episode isn't really that bad, it's kinda alright, certainly better than the 1st one, but, again, when I read that the series will be about what people of Remnant, who aren't RWBYJ, were doing during V9, I kinda thought it'll be about Atlas and Mantle citizens trying to get used to their sudden new life in Vacuo, or Oscar/Ozpin talking to Theo and all 3 maidens to figure out what to do next, or, hell, maybe even focus on Tai's feelings on everything that happened, with him thinking if he did the right thing by letting Ruby and Yang leave, since now he doesn't even know if his daughters, his last remaining family, are even alive, assuming he knows about the fates of Vale, Atlas and Mistral. (yeah, Tai's still at his house I think, but the description did say that it's about "what was happening in Remnant", not just Vacuo. yeah, Vacuo is a more important location right now, with everything except Menagerie and Mistral literally getting nuked just so the writers wouldn't have to go back to those places, but then change the description to "see what was happening in Vacuo during V9" if your only gonna focus on that location).
but no – the 1st episode is basically useless (and also very unfunny, but that's just my opinion) and the 2nd one, while okay on its own, takes place after V9 and doesn't focus on other people of Remnant, focusing on Jaune instead.
if the next episode is gonna be about bumbleby going on a date in Vacuo and telling everyone about how they got together in Ever After I'm gonna eat my own chair
and if the last episode will be the only one with any actual plot relevance, useful into or big reveal I'm gonna eat another
#rwde#rwby critical#♤mizu.txt#txt#this is a copy of my comment from reddit#thought I'd post it here too#you could say that the cut V9 epilogue already “focused” on what people of Vacuo Atlas and Mantle were doing during V9#but then you get the question#“why the fuck did the writers even made and advertised RWBY Beyond to be about what those people were doing during V9”???#could've just made the show about team RWBY figuring things out aftee coming back#since those 4 have always been getting shafted aside in favor of every other character#just make each of the 4 episodes focus on each of the girls talking to friends and family they haven't seen for a while#while also figuring out what to do now and retrospecting on the events of V9 and maybe V8#and also cram Jaune in there somewhere since the writers like him so much#would be nice for the show called RWBY to focus on team RWBY for more than 2 volumes

Jaune knows the mysterious Blacksmith lady we met last episode.
Jaune’s armor has been expanded considerably since landing in the Ever After, complete with helmet now. Obviously he DIDN’T undergo ascension so he had to have gotten those new armor pieces from somewhere.
And last episode, we just HAPPENED to meet a Blacksmith.
Furthermore, going by Jaune’s flashback it seems that he got his new armor BEFORE he even met Alyx and Lewis.
Meaning that this Blacksmith has been part of the Ever After for a VERY long time indeed.

The Promise
Inside a cabin with a group of people all with a sad expression on their faces, a young man is looking at rain through the window.
?: it's almost as all of Remnant is crying.
Just then a woman came out from another room and walk toward to the young man.
Woman: my grandfather would see now.
The young man walks into the room and saw an old man laying in his bed breathing heavily.
Old man: I'm sorry I forgot what's the name this one again?
?:(smile) it's oswald but you know you can call by my real name.
Old man: good to see again Ozma.
Ozma: it's good to see you to Lewis.
Ozma took a seat next to bed
Ozma: I came as fast as I could as soon as I got your letter.
Lewis: I ain't got much time, what I'm about to ask you would be hard to believe.
Ozma:(giggling) Lewis, I'm an immortal Who Sold possess a new body after dying, I think I will believe what you're about to say.
Lewis: there's a young man(coughing)...his name is Jaune Arc, I request that you accept him into Beacon.
Ozma: I will, this Arc kid must be really special where did you meet him.
Lewis: this is where the hard to believe part comes in, I met him in the Ever After.
Ozma: that's impossible you were 17 when you went to the Ever After and the only other human there beside you and Alyx was(realizing) The Rusted Knight.
Lewis: I didn't realize till after I return to Remnant but I think Jaune came from the future.
Ozma: what make you think that?
Lewis: because I ask him where he learn to fight, he said he use to go to Beacon Academy.
Ozma expression change to shock.
Lewis: when Alyx and I fell Beacon Academy was build but wasn't open yet, so how did he become a huntsman?
Ozma: Unless he came from the future.
Lewis soon started having trouble breathing then grab Ozma hand.
Lewis: ......promise....me...you will accept...Jaune Arc.
Ozma: I promise.
Ozma called out to Lewis family as they came into the room, Lewis breathing less and less.
With his last breath Lewis tell his family that he loves them all and just like that he was gone.
Ozma: I promise Lewis.
-------------------------------------------------------
200 years later
Now as Ozpin, He is looking through transcripts for new students then glynda walks in.
Glynda: so have decided who to accept into the school.
Ozpin: almost.
Glynda: almost! Ozpin We got to start sensing Acception letters soon before the year starts.
Ozpin: Calm down Glynda I only got one spot left to fill I just can't decide who to pick.
He looked up and saw glynda was holding and on envelope.
Ozpin: what do got there?
Glynda: This is a late entry I was about to threw it away.
Ozpin: can I see wouldn't hurt to take a look.
Glynda:(handed him him the envelope) can you pick someone already like her, Cinder fall look she'll make a good student........
As Glynda keep talking Ozpin open the envelope and was shock to see the name on the transcript Jaune Arc he couldn't believe it.
Ozpin begin reading it and could tell that this transcript is fake but couldn't help feel a little impressed in how Determine Jaune is to get into Beacon.
Ozpin: I decided he would be will accepted.
Glynda: but he missed the deadline.
Ozpin: true but as headmaster it's my decision.
He handed Glynda the transcript and she leaves.
Ozpin lean back into his chair and took a ship of his coffee, he doesn't know how or when Jaune would end up in the Ever After but All he cares about right now is that he finally fulfilled a promise to a friend.
Ozpin: Welcome to Beacon MR.Arc.

A Rusted Redemption
Written with permission from @jboy44
Jaune felt heavy and groggy when he opened his eyes.
Pushing himself up with a start, he shook himself and looked around. The calm and lush of the dark, colourful forest seemed to thrum, like the heart of another beating in time with his own.
He was alone now.
Alone again.
'Naturally.' He supposed.
Jaune shook his head and grunted, rising up straight to stand up.
'What happened?'
He remembered . . . Juniper . . . Alyx . . . and Lewis . . . Sitting around the bonfire . . . The Cat.
It was all coming back to him.
Jaune had been worried. Those few thoughts he'd had before the memory faded into the deceptive, greying abyss of forgetfulness.
"Come on . . ." He urged himself, "It's not that hard. It's not that hard, REMEMBER!"
‐---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Herbalist had clearly told or showed Alyx something. Likely something important. But he didn't know what.
He wouldn't know what.
Because he hadn't heard.
Whatever Herb did, all Jaune knew was that Alyx had changed. She hadn't trusted anyone after seeing the Herbalist. Not him, not the other Afterans.
Not even her own brother.
Jaune tried to keep out of Herb's cloud, but to no avail. The smoke enveloped the little back room and choked him when he dared to breathe; when he recovered enough to raise his head, he saw nothing.
Just a dark, empty, smokey space.
He didn't know what that was supposed to mean.
'How could nothing mean something?' He would have asked.
He never got the chance.
The clouds faded, and before they knew it, they were in the little back room again. Jaune figured that had something to do with finding himself.
But how could he find himself if he was being someone else?
Growing up, the Rusted Knight was a favourite character of his and his sisters. A selfless, righteous hero whose actions were an inspiration to millions across the whole of Remnant.
Of course, it had been years since he'd last touched the book, and a few details were a little fuzzy. But he remembered the best parts well; his favourite character was in them, after all.
But now that Jaune knew who the Rusted Knight truly was, he began to feel . . . Fake.
How could it be him?
Yes, he'd accepted it.
In fact, he'd been so excited when he realised it.
He knew he was the Rusted Knight.
He knew from the story how he was meant to act.
How the Rusted Knight was meant to be.
But was that right?
Did he really understand what it all meant?
. . .
He did.
. . .
And it was stifling.
Like playing a never-ending game of pretend, with children whose boundless energy syphoned him of any strength. He could never be himself, not as long as the game was on; but when it finally came to an end, as it inevitably had to, who would he be then?
Would he go back to being Jaune Arc?
Would he remain the Rusted Knight?
Or would he simply . . . not be either?
Had he truly been the Rusted Knight?
Had he upheld the image of his favourite hero?
Had he done him justice?
Or had he ruined it all?
Had he changed the story completely?
Jaune had done his best to keep it going the way he remembered. And it had all come terribly apart.
‐---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jaune sighed. Deep thoughts like this took a lot out of him. He laid back on the log and steadied himself, just like he used to practice so long ago.
Deep breath in.
Deep breath out.
More of his memory slowly filtred back to him.
The soup . . . having the soup . . . And then . . .
Nothing . . .
Again . . . nothing.
Only . . . waking up here.
The fire had gone out, and he was all alone.
'That was mean.' He thought, 'Why would they just leave me here? Especially after eating?'
They had stopped along the path to the tree. They were tired and hungry, so Jaune and Alyx set about foraging while Lewis and the Cat made up their campsite. Within the hour, a hearty soup had been prepared.
Something about it tasted wrong though, as if some unnecessary ingredient had been thrown in for a laugh. But who would do that? And why?
It hadn't been him.
Then he realised.
Alyx prepared the bowl of soup he ate, and now, neither she nor Lewis, nor the Cat were anywhere to be seen. A line from the story popped into mind.
"The Rusted Knight drank the poison in her stead."
The pieces came together like a splintered plank of wood, securely clamped down and smeared with a globule of glue to dry it in place.
Panic sunk its hooks into Jaune, and he bolted upright at once.
"I will get out of this place." Alyx said firmly, "I don't care how, but I will. One way or another. I won't let anyone get in my way."
Jaune had heard her say that, but he didn't remember when it happened.
So . . .
Alyx had poisoned him.
She must have.
And, of course, Jaune understood why. This was the EverAfter. He knew it better than them, and he was desperate to leave, too. But he had to wait there, for his friends.
But if Alyx was so desperate to leave, why would anyone else want to stay here?
Then, a terrifying thought struck him.
'If Alyx was willing to go this far, then what else would she do?'
Would Lewis be okay?
What about the Cat?
Or anyone else she happened upon along the way . . .
Did he dare think about Juniper?
He remembered her part in the story as well. Alyx rode a big Jackalope to the tree, and it her there left to find the Rusted Knight again.
He dreaded to think.
But if Alyx had rode Juniper then-
The pounding of cloven paws drew nearer and nearer, until a worried Jackalope bounded into view.
"Juniper!" Jaune was pleased to see her again.
But the previous issue remained, Lewis, the Cat, and many other Afterans might be in serious danger.
"I've got to stop her!" Jaune wasted no time.
He quickly picked up Crocea Mors, slung it across his back, jumped up on Juniper, and together, they started looking for footprints.
The chase was on.
‐---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At the Tree, Alyx, Lewis, and the cat found the door. The frames creaked, groaned, and glowed as the panels swung open.
'Beautiful . . .' They thought.
The Cat appeared unamused, as if it'd seen this sort of thing too many times before, and wasn't keen to watch it happen anymore.
"I'm ready." Lewis took a deep breath,
"As am I!" The Cat trilled, suddenly excited,
Alyx, however, felt hesitant. An unwelcome, unfamiliar feeling had been tugging at her for quite a while now. Perhaps, for longer than she wished to admit.
She felt . . . bad.
Bad for stealing from the Jinxy Peddler.
Bad for cheating in that game against the Red King. Even though it had technically been Lewis' idea.
Bad for being so rude to the Lively Carpenter.
And even worse about how she treated the Rusted Knight.
The Jinxy Peddler was a thief as far as she was concerned. He'd stole from her first, so Alyx didn't feel too bad for him.
The Red King hadn't been too bad, but both Alyx and Lewis quietly agreed he seemed very skittish. Like he was worried something might jump out from the abstract shadows and end his reign then and there.
He'd even executed two guards who got too close to him.
But the Lively Carpenter was a different story. He was so sweet and had only wanted to help them. The Rusted Knight was the same, though much more personal.
He was from Remnant, the same as her and her brother.
He hadn't introduced himself by name to them, so both Alyx and Lewis called him Rusty - it suited him, considering the state of his armour and sword, and he didn't seem to mind.
Secretly, Alyx had to admit, she did think he was very handsome. Lewis thought so too, which rubbed her the wrong way for some reason.
Naturally, she never said a word about it.
Alyx set foot on the steps leading up to the door, but she didn't take another. Something stopped her. Her desire to leave faded, like a shadow when clouds blocked the light of the sun.
Overpowered by a force unseen; by something she was completely blind to.
Lewis hadn't noticed at first and made it to the top of the steps before Alyx realised she wasn't moving.
"You coming, 'Lyx?" Asked Lewis.
Alyx blinked and looked up. She wanted to go, oh how desperately she wished to return home, see her mother and father again. But now, she didn’t want to.
'Why?' Wondered Alyx, 'What's stopping me?'
The realisation hit her harder than she expected.
She felt guilty.
. . .
This was entirely new for her.
Why should she feel guilty?
The EverAfter wasn't real. Nothing made any sense here. No one here was really real! So why follow the rules? It was all just a dream! Who could figure those out?! She couldn't, so why bother trying to understand?
There was nothing to worry about!
. . .
. . .
. . . Right?
The Cat noticed Alyx and turned to face her.
"Alyx?" One of their ears wilted.
Alyx kept silent. She knelt down and touched the tree's root. Tightening her grip around it, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
"Yeah, I'll be there, Lew." She finally said, "Just- . . . you go on ahead."
"Are you sure?" Lewis didn't like the sound of that,
"Uh-huh." Alyx nodded mutely and stood back up, "I'm sure."
Lewis knew his sister, and this didn't sound like something she would do. He came back down the steps.
"What's going on?" He asked, coming face to face with her.
Alyx sighed.
". . . We did a lot here, Lewis." She began carefully, "And I'm . . . I'm kinda worrying if we may have messed things up too much."
Lewis raised an eyebrow.
"Messed up how?" He needed to know,
"Well-" Alyx gestured to everything around them, "Look how far we went! With everyone! I mean, don't you think we've ruined some parts of this place now?"
"That's a rich spin on it." Lewis knitted his brows together and crossed his arms,
"What?" Alyx was taken aback,
"Alyx, you know everything we did just as well as I do." He frowned and patted the leather book hanging off his shoulder, "You don't think I didn’t know what you wanted us to do?"
"But- then why didn't you stop me?!" Alyx felt betrayed,
"How could I have?" Lewis threw his arms up, "You never listen to half the stuff I tell you!"
"Well-! D- Eh- Hmph!" Alyx huffed and put her hands on her hips, "I just wanted to get out of here!"
"So did I!" Lewis reminded her, "I've been stuck here with you this entire time, don't you think I've had enough too?!"
"Listen, I don't wanna argue with you, Lewis." Alyx quickly shut him up, "I get it, you know better, you're the eldest, so I have to listen to you."
She took a breath and looked her brother in the eye.
"At least now, I know why Momma and Pop-pop'd always tell me to." Alyx shook her head, "Now I'm seeing it all from overhead, I don't like any of it. Anything I've done . . ."
Lewis calmed down a little.
"Okay," He conceded, "So what now then? You're just going to stay behind and . . . 'Fix' everything?"
"I have to." Alyx nodded, "A lot of this is my fault, I can see that now. I have to make it right."
The Curious Cat didn't like the sound of this at all, but remembering Alyx's promise to them was secret, they said nothing.
Lewis nodded back.
"Alright then." He paused, "What'll you do first?"
". . . I've got to get to Rusty." She decided, "We know he knows this place better than either of us. Maybe he can help me-"
"Even after-, y'know . . .?" Lewis raised an eyebrow and rolled his hand,
"I said I want to make things right!" Alyx reminded him, "That means getting him back and waking him up."
"And then what?" Lewis prodded.
Now it was Alyx's turn to pause.
"I guess we'll travel around and see what went wrong wherever we went." She considered.
Lewis nodded one more time. He didn't like this one bit, but his sister didn't seem to want him there for this stage of her journey. It hurt a little, but deep down, Lewis knew this was a step Alyx needed to take.
". . . Fine . . ." He relented, "I'll see you on the other side, 'Lyx."
"You can count on it, Lew." She smiled.
Lewis looked his sister in the eye, and threw his arms around her.
"You'd better be back home soon." He said quietly.
Alyx smiled and hugged her brother tightly back.
"I will." She promised, "Don't worry."
The two separated, looking into each other's eyes one last time, and let go. Lewis turned and jogged up the steps, the cover and pages of his journal flapping open and shut at the corners with every bounce.
Lewis was glad he locked his journal.
Reaching the top, he paused. Then cast one last glance into the EverAfter's forest, and with a wave, he disappeared into the glow.
Alyx took another deep breath.
"Alyx . . ." The Cat sounded very anxious, "What are you doing?"
Alyx winced, she had forgotten her promise. She tried to be gentle.
"I'm sorry, Cat." She said earnestly, "But I have to stay here just a little bit longer."
"NO!" Cried the Cat, "No-no-no! You promised me Alyx, you promised you'd take me back to Remnant!"
Alyx was caught off-guard; the Cat had never acted like this before.
"Uh-" She tried, "I- I'll-"
"You remember, don't you?!" The Cat pleaded,
"O- Of course I do!" Alyx recovered,
"Then what are you doing?!" The Cat demanded, "Why are you staying here!?"
Alyx felt terrible now. If the guilt from before hadn't been enough, then this certainly made it worse.
She had always intended to bring the cat back with her as something to remember the fun by. And even better, she would convince her parents that she and Lewis had actually gone somewhere.
And coming back home with a real-live, talking cat?
That was the cherry on top!
No one had one of those!
As an added bonus, she might turn them into a fat, contented house cat who'd sleep in the sun and chase mice around the yard. That's what cats were meant to do anyway.
But from how they were talking now, they didn't feel like the cat she always wanted to take. For a brief moment, Alyx wondered if this was how her parents often felt about her.
"Come on," She tried again, "We won't take too long. I can't leave everything the way I did."
By now, the cat had lost patience.
"You lied to me, Alyx." They snarled,
"No I didn't." Alyx looked hurt, "I still want to take-"
The Cat lashed out angrily.
"Ah- bad kitty!" Alyx batted them wildly back.
The Cat didn't take very kindly to that, and with a hiss, they knocked Alyx's knife away, badly cutting up the back of her hand with their claws.
"Ouch!" She gasped and staggered away.
She looked at her hand. A few layers of skin had been sliced through, and her warm blood swelled from the slits, trickling down her wrist.
. . .
The pain was real.
. . .
. . .
. . .
The PAIN was REAL.
. . .
Alyx's heart turned cold, and a weight promptly sank with it. For the first time since she arrived, she truly felt afraid. The Curious Cat stalked angrily towards her on their hind legs.
They had grown well over ten times their old size, their forelimbs were thick as tree branches, and their beautiful checkered fur rippled with every step closer, like the water of the pond where Alyx and Lewis used to skip stones.
From a sugary-sweet light blue and lilac to a starkly picked-out black and white pelt. The Cat snarled again, and its bent whiskers twitched.
Alyx was more frightened now than she could ever remember being. She scrambled to her feet and tried to back away, but something kept her rooted in place.
Alyx had frozen.
"You lied to me." Growled the Cat, "You lied. You're lying just like my creators did!"
Alyx wanted to speak, but her voice did not come out.
"I can see you now for what you are!" Continued the Cat, looming over her like an unscaleable cliffside, "You're broken!"
The Cat swatted her head, Alyx fell to her knees.
"You'll break everything you touch!" Another, harder swat, and Alyx was on her face, "You humans are weak! Lost! Confused! Incomplete!!"
They punctuated each word with every swipe of their paws. Alyx curled into a ball, trying to protect herself as much as she could. The Cat suddenly stopped hitting her.
"But that's alright." They sounded much kinder now than they did before and gently stroked her hair, "It'll be okay, little explorer . . . I can help you . . ."
The Cat forcibly straightened Alyx out and dug their paws into her chest.
"AGH!" She cried.
"I can help you find yourself." The Cat pushed deeper, and deeper, and deeper, "And if I can't do that, then I can mend you . . . Or better yet, I can be you, instead!"
Alyx was in tears; the Cat hadn't pierced through her chest, and she wasn't bleeding from there, but it was getting harder to breathe the deeper the cat's paws went. Like she was sinking in water and had no way to keep her head above the surface.
'Is this . . . the end?' Alyx dared herself to think.
But then suddenly the Cat roared and hissed in pain, wrenching their paws out of her. Alyx coughed and hacked as she came back to reality and scuttled backwards, away from the beast.
Then she saw it. Sticking out from the Cats' hind leg was the worn, brass hilt of a sword, wrapped in old, dirty blue leather. Alyx knew who that sword belonged to.
'Rusty!'
He had arrived with his helmet on; he flew into view and charged the Curious Cat with only his shield. A wide, deep purple wave shoved the Cat hard forward, sending them sprawling into a limp off the platform. The Knight's sword fell from the wound and clattered on the ground.
"Get away from her!" He barked fiercely, and he scooped up his broken blade.
Alyx was out of the way, and most grateful for that. Had she not moved a moment ago, the Cat might have crushed her underfoot when they stumbled.
The Knight spotted Alyx's knife not too far away and quickly snatched it up as well before chasing the Cat into the surrounding woods.
"Drat!" The Cat hated being interrupted, "Bother you, Rusted Knight! You'd dare stand in MY way? I'm surprised you're standing at all!"
The Knight readied both blades and his shield.
"You've told enough lies." He said bluntly, "Her mind isn't a ball of yarn for you to play with!"
The Cat, by now, was blindly furious and swung with every ounce of strength as they could bring down on their adversary. The Rusted Knight didn't even flinch, and tanking the blow with ease, he knocked them away.
Alyx watched with bated breath as the two battled within the trees.
'Rusty' was pulling every trick he knew: grip switches, head-butts, and high kicks, anything he could remember from his training to keep the Cat at bay.
He smacked his shield against the Cat's nose. And in an unexpected flash of light, their fight ended.
‐---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When it faded, everyone realised they were no longer by the tree but somewhere else entirely. Jaune and Alyx looked around. It was early in the morning, and this didn't look like any place they'd gone before.
The Cat was still angry, but it wasn't as bad as before. They were back to their original, small size, but their light blue checkered fur had faded, blending in with the rest of their violet fur.
"Lousy meddling knight." They mewled, ruefully nursing their nose, "She made a promise to me. I merely wanted her to keep it."
Jaune knew how important it was to keep the promises you made. It was his family's creed, after all. But he knew that forcing others to do so wasn't always the best idea.
"She'll go back to Remnant when she's ready." He told them, "Not when you want."
The Cat wrinkled their snout and sneered, but Jaune just kept his guard up and glared.
"Leave her alone." He demanded, "Like I said, you've already told enough lies."
The hairs on the Cat's back stood up as they hissed at him one last time, then they calmed down and licked their forelimb.
"Fine." Grunted the Cat, "I can see it's no use."
They got up with a grunt and limped feebly away.
"At least I now know what not to do." They sighed, "Thank you for this lesson, Alyx. Caroll. Explorer. I'll be on my way now. I hope you find what you're looking for."
And taking a few more steps away, the Cat disappeared from view. Now it was Jaune's turn to sigh, he was relieved. He trudged back over to Alyx and knelt down to properly look at her face.
She was still very shaken up by everything that just happened.
"Are you hurt at all?" He asked, trying to sound as kind as he possibly could.
Alyx didn't answer at first. Her eyes were wide, and she seemed too afraid to even speak.
"Here, let me see that." Jaune very carefully took her hand in his.
Tears welled in Alyx's eyes. She couldn't believe this was happening; she tried to kill the Rusted Knight, but here he was, still treating her kindly and gently.
"I'm-" Her voice finally returned to her, "I'm sorry . . ."
Her lip trembled, and her tears began to spill.
Jaune's stern expression didn't falter. He wanted to be upset. He wanted to be angry. But as much as he wished he could blurt his anger out for all to hear, he didn't.
He knew deep down that wouldn't help Alyx whatsoever. And so instead, he simply sighed and scooped her up in his arms.
"Rusty?" Alyx felt more nervous now,
"Your hand will be fine," Jaune said thoughtfully, "but you need more help than I can give right now. There must be a place we can get you patched up."
Alyx couldn't argue. She just clung to 'Rusty' as tightly as she could and properly began to cry.
"I'm sorry, Mister Knight . . ." She sobbed quietly, "I'm sorry!"
Jaune shook his head.
"Alyx, it's-" He wanted to wave her off,
"Don't tell me it's okay, I know it's really not!" But Alyx wouldn't let him, "I shouldn't've been so mean, I get it now!"
"Do you, really?" Jaune asked reflexively,
"Yes!" Alyx sobbed,
"If you knew it was wrong, then why didn't you do anything about it earlier?" Jaune wasn't as upset now.
He just wanted to know.
"I was scared!" Alyx didn't hesitate, "I just wanted to go home and- and see Momma and Pop-pop again! I didn't mean to hurt anyone, I mean it!"
Jaune could tell she was being sincere, and did what he could to pat her head. But he was still perplexed.
"Alright, I believe you . . . then why didn't you go back through the door?" He had to ask.
Alyx sniffled.
"I have to fix-" She insisted, "I have to fix all of it."
"All of it?" Jaune was even more perplexed,
"I know I did a lot of bad things since I got here." Alyx admitted sheepishly through her tears, "When I was leaving with Lewis, I- . . . I just . . ."
And she trailed off; Jaune found he really didn't have it in him to be angry at her anymore.
Not now.
Because he understood what she was trying to say.
And realised, had he been in her shoes, he might have acted the same way she did. Obviously not as he was now, but as a twelve-year-old in an unknown land where nothing made any real sense.
Without his parents there to guide him along.
Or the siblings he always wanted to be around.
Or the friends he'd made what felt like a lifetime ago.
How much of his younger self did he see in Alyx?
What about her reminded Jaune of his younger sisters?
. . .
. . .
. . .
There was so much. And yet somehow so little.
. . .
. . .
. . .
Jaune shook the thoughts from his head. And saw that Alyx was still crying.
"I'm sorry." She murmured again.
"Don't worry." He soothed, "It'll be alright now."
Jaune glanced around. The ground was white. Not because of snow, there was none around, and it was actually quite warm out. He took a step forward, but this time, he properly heard the sound from under his boots.
'It's paper.' By now, Jaune was even more puzzled.
Juniper trotted up to them, and Jaune carefully helped Alyx up her leg.
"Alright . . ." He put a hand to his chin, "You need bandages, and I need- uh, something for whatever I ate . . . So where can we go for that?"
Alyx wiped the rest of her tears with her uninjured hand and gazed ahead.
"Maybe that little star-thing can help us?" She suggested.
Jaune blinked.
"What star-thing?" He raised an eyebrow.
Then he looked the same direction she was, and he saw it. Waddling happily up to them was a little red star.
Jaune blinked in surprise. It was made of folded paper, and had little pink overlapping bubbles dotting its wings and legs. He'd never seen anything like this before.
"Hello!" The Star chirped with an elegant pirouette, "Welcome to our village! We hope that it pleases you. Would you be so kind as to tell me what you are so that I may serve you?"
Jaune and Alyx exchanged glances.
"Serve us?" Jaune asked carefully,
"But of course!" The Star answered earnestly, "As a Paper-Pleaser, it is my duty to serve all who come to our village!"
"Paper-Pleaser?" Alyx tilted her head,
"Indeed!" The Star chirped again, "Come with me, our village is only down the hill from here."
Seeing no other choice, Jaune guided Juniper after the little red Paper-Pleaser. But he couldn't really focus just then. His mind wandered back to those vicious thoughts he'd had before chasing after Alyx.
Growing up, the Rusted Knight was a favourite character of his and his sisters. A selfless, righteous hero whose actions were an inspiration to millions across the whole of Remnant.
For a moment, he felt bad for thinking she would do anything so horrible. Despite how reasonable it had been to do so.
Jaune knew who he was here in the EverAfter. He accepted it, but now he didn't feel as stifled.
Yes, there came an enormous pressure with being the Rusted Knight. And yes, that pressure had been thrust on him.
But the story hadn't played out the way he'd read in the book.
Maybe that had been his fault.
Or maybe, when Alyx wrote the book, she would change some things.
Anything was possible.
But with that in mind, he realised now he'd done more than what had been written about the Rusted Knight. And more than that, he'd been truly able to help in the end.
He'd been more than just a guide. He'd been more than just a shield. Sure, Alyx was hurt when he wasn't looking, but she was still safe from harm.
Although Jaune was sure he could've done more, he found he was glad to have done anything at all.
Perhaps in the end, he had done the Rusted Knight some small justice after all.

I dont think it was confirmed that adam was on the train it could have been a hallucination. and hazels whole point is how he mishandled his grief and repressed the pain and tried to pin the blame all on ozpin to the point he worked with salem due to finding that fighting against her useless. IT doesnt change the fact that deep down he didnt want salem to win which is why he got angry about oscar telling him. and for watts he doesnt do magic what you suggested is having him do magic on penny
as for the cat while jaune had a mental breakdown he didnt break like neo or ruby did. the cat was waiting for jaune to breakdown for years but jaune never did jaune had a mental breakdown but it wasnt severe enough.
Adam:
RWBY Vol 6 EP 1
RWBY Vol 6 Ep 5
RWBY Vol 6 Ep 10
How did Adam get Argus to even fight Blake?
Watts hacked into Penny:
RWBY Vol 8 Ep 8
And if you believe she couldn't be taken over
RWBY Vol 8 Ep 3
Pietro did it. This is not magic. It's Programming and coding. All science.
Hazel
No. We all know. Come on. You say he didn’t want Salem to win deep down then why? Why did he aline himself with her? Why does he follow her orders? Why not team up with Ozpin or become a teacher himself to protect the students? I mean has he ever leaked information to someone to help the heroes? Nope. This man died like a hero but was a villain in the long run. Again commit to it because you have too much blood on your hands to say otherwise.
Now the as for the cat.
RWBY Vol 9 Ep 9
Lewis was going back to Remnant. And he sat there. Watched him leave. Didn't bother to go with him.
Now for Jaune
Killed a friend.
Gets trapped on island. But goes back in time before his him and friends by accident with his only option being to wait for them or get home (which wouldn't do him any good considering he would've ended in the wrong timeline. But then again he would basically abandon team RWBY.) He then meets Alyx only for her to betray and poison him.
And after finally seeing his friends again and taking them to his hut. They just call him crazy. And he watched as the same people he protected died right in front of him.
Seriously? This doesn't mentally break anyone. And this wasn't even touched well in the show. And this was Jaune on the island for years while Ruby and Neo were only in Ever After for A DAY and:
Cat got em. So again Jaune is stronger than Ruby and Neo.

"The Rusted Knight looked down on Ruby, a derisive huff echoing through her helmet's visor.
"Yes, you truly are exactly like Alyx. Just as stubborn, just as selfish, just as convinced that the whole world revolves solely around you."
Ruby's face flushed red from anger and embarassment.
"What do you know about Alyx? Or me?"
The Knight laughed again.
"Are you saying you know her? You, who has only read a story of her?"
"Well, maybe I do! Better than you anyway!"
Ruby gave the Knight a sullen glare. The Knight said nothing for a few moments. Then she gave a chuckle.
"Loathe as I am to disappoint you, child."
She took off her helmet. Ruby's eyes widened. She recognized that face. She'd seen it time and time again, in the illustrations of her story book. Only in those it hadn't looked nearly as weathered. And there hadn't been a scar in the shape of a claw mark over its right eye.
Alyx' smirk was without joy.
"You don't know Alyx at all.""
Hey, Alyx existing only as motivation for Jaune's man-pain and to be villainized was bullshit. So here's my rewrite idea for Volume 9.
Alyx didn't have a brother, she truly did fall into the Ever After all by herself. Desperate to get home and terrified of this completely new and bizarre world she'd been dropped into, she went to almost any lengths to get home, causing many Afterans grief.
Her only friend was the Curious Cat, who found and helped her escape from the Red King's dungeon after she was imprisoned for cheating in the Red King's game. As they got closer, the Cat told Alyx about their desire to see Remnant and their trauma stemming from being abandoned as the caretaker of the Ever After, who had to take care of everybody but had no one to take care of them. Alyx sympathized with them and promised to take them with her when she returned home.
However, once Alyx made it to the Tree, she reflected on all the hurt she'd caused in the Ever After. At the last moment, she decided not to return to Remnant yet. And instead stay to fix everything she'd broken. The Cat, enraged by what they perceived as yet another person taking advantage of them and leaving them with nothing in return, attacked Alyx, clawing her across one eye. Alyx managed to fend them off with her dagger, nicking their ear, and get away. But she fell from the Tree in the process.
She was found and nursed back to health by the Jabberwalker, a being widely feared by the Afterans for its off-putting appearance, but whose purpose was actually to fix and restructure everything that was broken in the Ever After.
After Alyx recovered, she was more determined than ever to make good on her promise and fix the Ever After, as well as find the Cat again and explain herself to them. She became a sort of apprentice to the Jabberwalker, who taught her how to navigate the Ever After by herself and made her armor from the rusted discarded metal he'd collected during his work.
Alyx soon became known as the Rusted Knight, a heroine who helped every Afteran who requested it and one of the few to stand up against the tyrannical Red Prince.
Sometime after she'd become the Rusted Knight, Alyx would meet another person from Remnant, a young author by the name of Lewis. Seeing her younger self in him, she accompanied him to the Tree. To encourage him during their journey, she told him the story of a girl named Alyx who had fallen before him but made it back home safe and sound.
After getting back home to Remnant, Lewis would write down Alyx' story under the title "The Girl Who Fell Through the World", adding in the Rusted Knight as his personal way of thanking the woman who had guided him to safety.

So I will say it would might be hard but what about Harriet as the Rusted Knight stand in. Spending years dealing with guilt and horror of her willing to nuke a city just because she was told too. She could call the Lighting Trailer or something.
(Fun fact! When initially thinking about the major plot threads for the Sharc AU, I was actually going to have Harriet fall into the Ever After, find the time fruit and become the Juniper of the Sharc Universe. I have since decided against that, and feel safe sharing it.)
Blake: My Gods! It's the-
The Galvanic Squall: You kids have been getting up to a lot, huh?
Blake: Y- Yeah? Wait, how do you know we've been up to stuff?
Yang: Have you been watching us or-
The Galvanic Squall: That was one of the things I was meant to do, among all the other-
The Woman wrenches her face mask down while pulling off her goggles and hood.
Harriet Bree stood before them, her face wrinkled with old scars covering her face and ears, her hair pulled back into a mess of cable-like dreads, all streaked with dull gray and Electric Yellow.
Harriet: A Shit that Ironwood was ordering us to do- What the fuck happened!
Ruby: HARRIET?
Harriet: Yes! HELLO! I've been stuck here for-Fucking-ever!
Harriet: I mean, fuck I lost count after about the second month here, but I've been looking for- look, what was the last thing that happened to you?
RWBY: *Share worried looks*
Harriet: Okay, I get it, I'm in rough shape, just answer, alright!?
Weiss: uhm ... We only woke up here a day ago. before getting here, We evicted Atlas and Mantle to Vacuo using the Staff of Creation.
Harriet: Uh huh, Caused Atlas to sink, I'm aware.
Blake: Cinder Fall and one of her Cronies followed us into the In-between, and made us fall.
Harriet: Yep. I was Running Civies to the exit because Flame Girl and Polendina were fighting.
Yang: We all got knocked down here, obviously, and Salem got the Relic, but we know she doesn't have the maiden powers.
Harriet: Well. That doesn't sound great.
Ruby: Well, Neo, 'Cinder's Crony' fell with us. She hates my guts and ... It ... isn't good. Penny died. For real this time, no rebuilding, no recovering she's just ... gone.
Harriet: ... Oh. I- I uh.
Harriet: Wow. That's- I'm sorry. I know you two were close- she would never shut up- Er, Stop talking about you.
Ruby: We've all lost people. We can't sit around feeling sorry for ourselves. You Didn't.
_WBY: *look worriedly between each other and Ruby, who doesn't notice*
Harriet: Yeah, Well, I did my best to. Hell, I figured out how to dye my hair, gave me something to do while I waited.
Harriet: Also if you see a technicolor Cat, Don't Trust it. A couple kids Ran through years back and uh ... I couldn't find them. They just disappeared. If that Girl hadn't poisoned me I'd be certain they were just delusions.
Blake: A Girl? Was her name Alyx?
Harriet: *Squinting Suspiciously at Blake* ... How'd you know that?
Yang: It's a Book. The Girl that Fell Through the World. It's a classic!
Weiss: But there was only Alyx in the Story.
Harriet: The girl I met had a Brother. Lewis, and he was a lot more nervous and forward-thinking. And a hell of a lot more level headed. Lewis could stub his toe on a rock and he'd apologize to it. Alyx would stub her toe and make a guillotine for whatever tripped her up.
Blake: It sounds like we have a lot to talk about. Uh, do you have a place to stay or ...
Harriet: Yeah, I've got a cottage, let's move out.
Weiss: Well I'm glad you're not angry at us.
Harriet: Well, if it means anything ... I think you did the right thing standing up to the General. I know I made a mistake listening to him. *She beings walking*
Harriet: Come on, we might make it before sundown.

Hmmmm I’m thinking that Jinxy taking Alyx’s happiest and saddest memories probably did not help her mental state before she went to the Herbalist…
I think Weiss said it best when she said that Alex was just trying to survive, that the moral of the story was pretty simplistic. It’s simplistic but in the most fierce way possible. Alyx lied and manipulated her way through the story, gave up important memories, had an experience with the herbalist, possibly gave up her brother, and just deteriorated into her basic need to make it home, no matter the cost.
Survival is something that is not very pretty and can change the way you view the world. Even if you have a bad home life like Weiss did, one would say she just tried to survive her childhood. Especially as a kid, an already established selfish kid, surviving can be so personal. We know Jaune was just trying to help because he knew the truth but he’s just some guy she met in this magical wacky world where everyone has some kind of agenda. Of course he knew what would happen, there was some book about it. That… make sense. But what if he’s lying? When she thought Jaune was going to get in her way from getting home she got all paranoid and acted.
I’m interested in how Lewis handled all of this as well, what his experience was. We get a lot of context from what we knew about Alyx and what we currently know about her; I want to see the other side of the coin……..
#also Ruby is starting to remind me of Alyx? can’t explain just yet#I am watching all of them again tonight for tomorrow morning#rwby#rwby spoilers#rwby9#rwby theory#rwby volume 9

Okay. Thoughts.
We saw Summer Rose and heard her voice. That was something. I was expecting Lindsay to voice her, but they got a new actress which is fine as well.
I am loving this Weiss. I’ve known she was the voice of reason, and she’s shown it here. She helped Jaune, and I beg she helps Ruby in whatever comes next.
So tree Ruby. Seeing what happened to Herb, she is going to her in evolution next episode. The question is that is this evolution mental or physical? We saw the paper pleasers turn into the pebble pleasers (I know that’s not their name but it’s all I got). I doubt she’ll evolve physically unless it’s in the form of a new outfit.
So Louis wrote the story about his sister. Interesting. Also, Alyx was probably under control of the cat for a good amount of time before killing her off because Jaune said Alyx returned but not Lewis. He truly has no regard for a life. I know people theorize that Lewis is an Oz incarnation, but I doubt it. I believe Lewis is separate and just wanted to turn the story of his sister into something light hearted. Something nice to remember her by.
I am not feeling this at all. They are really pushing for Weiss and Jaune to have a stronger relationship of some kind. But shipping aside, wow. He just fell off the tree. I wonder if the weirdness of the Ever After will just return him to the top or if he has to catch up eventually. Also, is he staying rusted? We’re approaching the end of this Volume and no clock fruit to reverse the effects. That’ll be interesting.
So Ruby was looking at all the weapons and said they’re all too heavy. All until she saw Summer’s. I believe in this moment, she felt all the other weapon holders have the same dream as she did, and she felt that they felt they had the same weight on their shoulders as Ruby. Summer, however, is her idol. She is blinded and meeting Summer will clear her mind and realize that everyone is going through the same as she did. Ruby will learn that she isn’t alone. She isn’t the alone one saving everyone. She doesn’t have to do this alone. She is sharing the weight with her team and her friends.
Can’t wait for next chapter and I hope for more WhiteRose because I missed when my girls talked.
Also, if y’all have the chance, listen to The Bear by Ok Goodnight. Casey and the rest of the band did amazingly.
