Um hi!! I just wanted to say I fucking love your work and everything you do and I’m so glad to say that you have officially made me into a papyri lover and I request that you continue to feed me with your amazing art and writing😇 (I’m literally folding for Rus and Dare’s relationship and not to mention Flipping fate has honestly got me hooked and never letting me go)
Also! If it’s not a bother do you have any tips on drawing the two skeleton brothers? (Aus don’t rly matter!) I just adore how you do it (sketches and the finished product) and I just wanted to ask ;,)
WAHHH THANKUUU 💖💖 Welcome to the ranks of Papyri lovers...!! (APOLOGIES IVE BEEN SLACKING ON THE PAPYRI CONTENT ;w; [and also. literally anything in general recently agdjcbdk]) ALSO sorry this took like. months to reply to agahamjdbhsmf,jj,,,, I made a whole thing. and then accidentally deleted said thing? so I had to remake it after moping for like a month.
Anyway, here is. a very messy breakdown and some tips!! That are hopefully helpful!!! It's mostly about faces but if you're interested I can also get into the nitty gritty of drwing skeletons but these are like. Sans and Papyrus specific parts (so mostly their skulls lol)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Skulls are both weirdly round, and weirdly angular (a sentiment that I read in a fic once and committed to heart apparently. Like... yeah. They ARE weirdly round and angled.) As always shape language is your friend (real bouba and kiki moments)
Sans has more of a... chibi face shape LMAO. If you've drawn those before it makes drawing him a lil easier imo. As for Papyrus...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He's a pain!! He's got lots of expressions and I usually have to redraw his face like sixteen times. His eyes are just like 2 fucking vertical lines and yet. AND YET. My beloved boy is so difficult. At least he has very expressive eyebrows. I also use the corners of his mouth to give him more range of expressiveness since he has no lips! Also the lines for his "individual" teeth... I can take it or leave it. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't!
I only give Papyrus lower eyelids because if you give him upper eyelids/lidded sockets he looks like Underswap Paps LMAO,,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sans on the other hand has "lips" but doesn't use them hrkfhdk,, I always make sure to give him the little holes at the corners of his mouth as well.
Also that's all about their heads/faces so here's a note about how I do bodies which is. Shapes. These two are so Shaped.
Tumblr media
Seriously though the best thing to do is just to try emulate other people's artstyles or pick out parts of them that you like and incorporate them into your works. Like how someone draws Sans' eyes? Try it and apply it!!
People also tend to draw the skeletons with slightly different facial proportions, so experiment with that and see what you like as well! I've gotten pretty good at eyeballing it and drawing them directly (with the exception of Papyrus around 40% of the time, wherein I have to redraw his face sixteen times before it looks good).

I love your palia oc Sol! and I LOVEEE the artwork you did of them in palia's artstyle! really looks like official art, if you ever had commissions opened I'd love to see my character in your art (obviously not pushing if you don't do comms or anything!)
just wanted to say I love the artwork and wanted to ask if you had any headcanons/lore for your character? I don't know if I do for mine, but I love peoples creativity and when they can give a story to their oc's/game characters ^-^
omg, thank you so much!! It's made me so happy how positively people have reacted to my attempt at the palia artstyle, this community has been so welcoming and supportive of the art I've made and i genuinely love it so much. I actually made a commission sheet for palia style pieces a while back, so I may post it here on tumblr some time soon! I've actually recently updated that art, since it was the first art I ever drew of them before having a concrete design idea for them:
Tumblr media
As for the second part, I've actually put quite a lot of thought into their character, so heres some info about them under a read more :D (also for anyone interested in character plots, the plot I have uploaded to the tour board as Sol Reagem is my original plot, but it also doubles as what Sol's actual home looks like!)
- when they first emerged they were very curious to learn as much as they could about the world around them, and spent a lot of their time talking with Ashura and Chayne asking questions, and just talking and befriending villagers in general. They also spent probably an equal amount of time exploring the world around them (and almost immediately discovering some of the not so legal goings on of the underground). As they start to get a better grasp and establish themself more in the village, they still end up spending most of their time socializing when they can (and more often than not they're either hanging around the Inn or at Jel's shop!) - their main skills are in foraging and cooking, which is quite fitting that two of the people they become closest to are Ashura and Reth. They sell a lot of forage and wood as their primary income, but they really enjoy making extra food to be able to share with company. They also have a tendency to chopping wood to help clear their mind, (if youve seen the tumblr post you know LOL) - they have absolutely no memory of pre void, and never will gain it back. Those memories are permanently lost to time, and its something they're glad for - for the most part. Sometimes at first they do struggle with not having any memories or life experiences outside of Kilima and Bahari, but with time they find family and new memories in the people there :) they consider Ashura a father figure, and ask him to be their Shepp when the time comes for it. - they actually have a little runt palcat named Leaf! She's smaller than usual palcats (and her ears are pretty large looking because of it!) and she LOVES to hunt bugs. I jokingly call her the Village emotional support palcat, since Sol will bring her into town pretty frequently, and often leaves her with someone if they need a little cheering up or comfort.
Tumblr media
Thank you for being interested in them :D!! i love when people ask, it makes me so happy to share bc i always put so much thought into my characters

How long have you been drawing? I really like your art styl. I've been wanting to learn how to draw, but I'm worried I won't ever be able to pick it up or have the patience or know how to start.
(video includes some of my art from 2017-2019)
Drawing has always been a hobby of mine, but I only got serious about it around 2017. The most important thing is motivation, that's why a lot of people get started with fanart and learn the fundamentals through it. Try drawing things you love! References are your best friend, I have entire folders for every character I draw.
All artstyles are a combination of process and appearance preference: I don't use multiple layers for lineart (my sketches are the lineart and I clean them up with an eraser) and semi-realism is the easiest for me because I was mostly into traditional realism at first - I learned I like fine details, clean but sketchy lines and rough textured brushes. It's kinda like handwriting, you already have your own unique way of drawing, but you can shape it to your developing tastes with practice.
For most folk anime and comic styles are usually easier to learn, because they simplify everything already. Especially at the very beginning copying other people's art and manga/comic panels is a great way to get into drawing, figuring out your preferences and build up muscle memory (don't upload copied art, but traced photos are fine).
Remember that the art you enjoy seeing and the art you enjoy making can look vastly different. Having multiple styles, changing over time and experimenting are very natural things.
To this day I struggle drawing chibis and cartoons because I've only studied realism :') Even semi-realism has only recently clicked for me by closely looking at other people's art, so don't stress yourself with only focusing on the fundamentals.
Another tip that really helped me understand better in the beginning was watching various artists draw in real time, just observing them can really clarify the process and break it down. It's also a lot less lonely than learning all alone - there's lots of art youtubers and tutorials.
Here are a few:
How to start drawing for beginners
What our brains do when we draw
How to learn to draw (as an adult)
Learn the sketching basics
Obligatory Drawfee episode
Tips for changing artstyles/get unstuck from patterns
Doodle date (caus they're wholesome and fun)

Hello! :] I saw your post recently regarding the pervasive feeling of shame in newer fans re: Danganronpa, and it really resonated. I wanted to offer my two cents as a fandom old/armchair fandom archeologist that's hopefully a little heartening:
I remember back in 2012/2013 when Danganronpa was beloved, during the height of the SomethingAwful TL days. It was a genuinely fun time to be into things, especially as people were getting excited for an EN release, something that I do think the fandom deserves a little credit in making happen. I was there for the UDG release, DR3 anime, and the lead-up to v3's release, and unfortunately, I think the fact that all three of those entries were in some ways polarizing effectively memory-holed a lot of people into believing Danganronpa was never "good" to begin with, which makes it a lot easier to pick out its flaws and give it a bit of a weird reputation now.
(As a tangent, but some more context that might help: Danganronpa also got really big on my neck of the woods in Tumblr during one of the big Homestuck hiatuses. Back in the day there was a lot of fandom crossover, which I don't really think is the case nowadays, but I think for people that were either in both fandoms and had negative experiences, or people outside who disliked either/or, they've been inextricably linked together as part of a particular "time" in Tumblr/internet history that isn't remembered fondly. So, I have a theory that a lot of secondhand Danganronpa disdain comes from misplaced disdain for the other Big Thing at the time.
This also overlapped with the tail end of the big SuperWhoLock era to my memory, which is usually much more focused on which discussing Tumblr history. Which is a shame, because I feel like this particular transitional era of Tumblr "fandom" history has been underdiscussed because of it!
None of this is excusing some of the things I've seen said about DR fans and the ways people have been iced out for liking it, but I find trying to understand the factors at play always helps my mind figure out how to process these things.)
However: time moves on. This isn't permanent. Having gone back and re-experienced the whole series some 5+ years removed, I was able to find joy in parts of the series that, while I was in the thick of a shift in fandom attitude, didn't appreciate as much as I think I should have. I didn't absolutely love everything, but I had so much fun, it almost felt like I was experiencing things again for the first time.
I want to believe the same thing will happen as we get some time removed, as people get nostalgic for things and get older and understand that you can love something flawed, criticize it, and not feel shame for it. I always welcome fresh faces discovering something for the first time, but I think that some day, a lot of older fans can come back and embrace it as well. Sometimes you need time and life and a few extra years on you. I'm living proof of it! :P
Of course, this is just one person's perspective from one slice of the fandom. But I remain hopeful. There really is nothing else quite like Danganronpa for me, warts and all. You don't have to post this publicly or anything if you don't want to, but I wanted to offer a little hope to go with your thoughts. :') and I hope you have a great day!
Oh man, I really really appreciate this message. I am really interested in the perspective of fans who have been here for so long, and I always feel a little out of my depth talking about old (read: 2018 and before) DR fandom because despite seeing a Lot of it in my blog-diving, I still wasn't there. It's genuinely wonderful to hear that it was beloved like that, even if only fully for the first two installments.
I HAVE noticed a weird amount of homestuck/dr crossover in my searches, so that totally makes sense! Hell, my first exposure to DR on tumblr was a homestuck blog I followed back in 2017/2018ish (for the artstyle, I haven't read homestuck) that also posted a lot about Kazuichi. That's super cool!
While I feel like today, there is at least a little bit of fondness (even if it is a little ironic) for superwholock days, I see very little talk of homestuck. And when I do, it is usually with the same flavour of "Wow that fandom was so crazy" as old-DR.
I think there is usually this reactionary retrospective on site-wide popular fandoms to some degree after they start to wane in size. I saw it when I was in the TMA fandom. That thing was a monster, and over all I felt more stressed there than I ever feel now with DR. And after it ended, and really even During those last few episodes, you could feel a level of distaste for the piece of media growing. Although it never really reached critical mass like DR.
Maybe its even more apparent with something like Steven Universe- when it was actively coming out there was so much disdain for it (from some people) and for the fandom. I was there, on the sidelines, but I saw it all and it wasn't fun. But after its finale and a couple years of silence, people now seem to have come around and realized, whoa, so much about all that discourse was way overblown. I feel like a couple years ago there could still have been this sense of "cringe" posting about steven universe, while today its a lot more neutral.
Of course, it's kind of weird to compare DR and SU, and the nature of outside of fandom perspectives on them is not the same. The level of disdain for people posting SU never reached the point of DR either. But if it's anything to go by, I feel like there is hope eventually for people to stop having an immediate knee-jerk reaction to it. To look back and realize, "hey, that was actually pretty good," or "I didn't really appreciate this the first time." Or even just "It's fine actually to have nuanced take on this piece of media I don't like that concludes with them still liking it." I feel like we already got a mini-version of that in 2020, but since that's when I joined I can't speak too much on it.
Small tangent aside, I really appreciate this. I also hope people can come back around to it, or at least appreciate that it made them or other people happy at the time c:

Hi there!
To clarify I’m a different anon to the person behind these two asks about Namy Gaga:
https://www.tumblr.com/sprinkleonthatcriticism/766735598905163776/so-i-saw-someone-mention-namy-gaga-on-here-and?source=share
https://www.tumblr.com/sprinkleonthatcriticism/768251951945269248/hello-again-i-dont-know-if-you-remember-me-but?source=share
But I saw them both the other day and wanted to add in my two cents (which I felt would be applicable to you, given your valid criticisms regarding Vivziepop’s behaviour).
During the situation with Scott Cawthon back in June 2021 (if you know, you know - I have my own thoughts about that but they’re not relevant to my discussions), Namy posted a “Thank You, Scott” drawing on both her Deviantart and her now-defunct Twitter - which featured her FNAF AU characters: https://www.deviantart.com/namyg/art/FNAFNG-Thank-you-Scott-882997156
Back then, I remember seeing Namy respond to Vivziepop’s comment on that situation (which I’m sure you’ve seen and have your own thoughts about) with the following (note that Namy’s old Twitter is now defunct, so this is all I could find from Namy’s full response - if anyone has an archive (screenshot or otherwise) of her response, that would be great):
“Well, you wouldn't have open your mouth from the beginning. You basically helped Scott get doxed first. …”
Despite this hostility Namy had towards Vivziepop, I am starting to realise that - from what I know about Namy’s behaviour - she is similar to Viv more than she cares/wants to admit.
For example:
Both are LGBTQ+ creatives with massive fanbases across different platforms, mainly YouTube. Vivziepop (bisexual cis woman) having 10.5 million YT subscribers and Namy Gaga (lesbian/sapphic and, more recently genderfluid (although she did previously identify as a cis woman exploring androgynous gender expression)) having 1.09 million YT subscribers.
Despite their huge creative platforms, both have been incredibly irresponsible with those platforms (toxic behaviour, encouraging harassment towards those genuinely criticising them, claiming that they “own artstyles/character concepts/design choices”, using their LGBTQ+ identities as shields against legitimate criticism, etc.).
Both have been called out for, at best, having double standards regarding trans people (i.e. being biased towards trans folks they don’t like) and, at worst, parroting transphobic rhetoric (e.g. Namy with trans men and trans women, and Viv with trans men and transmasc people).
Both have been criticised for the questionable and/or poorly-written depictions of LGBTQ+ characters in their works (Viv in her Hellaverse shows and Namy in her fanart and AU projects). (My response: As a queer person myself, I’m not saying that ALL LGBTQ+ representation in media has to be ‘perfect’ or ‘done the right way’ - after all, LGBTQ+ experiences (bi, pan, lesbian, gay, trans and gender-diverse, ace/aro, etc.) are diverse. That being said, it seems that both Namy and Viv tend to walk on a fine line between misguided representation/poor writing AND blatant queerphobia/spite towards those whose queer experiences aren’t the same as their own.)
Both have behaved in an incredibly toxic and unprofessional manner towards their legitimate criticism (especially the kind regarding their ego), regularly pulling the “I experienced harassment in the past and harassment is bad so my behaviour is actually okay” card. (My response: Yes, harassment is bad, but you shouldn’t confuse genuine criticism for that.)
In short, I feel Namy behaves more like Viv than most realise (or than she likes to admit). I’m curious to hear your thoughts about this if you have any, though…
Final note for those reading this:
PLEASE DO NOT take this as me claiming that Vivziepop is a sexual predator, especially in the same way Namy is (who, as the other anon said, has been in predatory, abusive relationships with three individuals (two of whom she dated) when she was in her early 20s and they were 16-17).
Unless there is concrete evidence to prove otherwise, accusing Viv (or any random person for that matter) of being a sexual predator without concrete proof is bad.
Thanks for reading and I hope you have a good day!

Hey, I love your art so much! Any tips if you wanna get into prints? Mainly sizes and how to make sure the work is the right resolution and quality? Or, I guess, just: what sizes do you work on for your prints?
I usually draw on a DinA3 or DinA4 canvas and then crop that as needed. If you want to start doing prints make sure you draw in CMYK and that the canvas is set to 300 points! 300p is really important, some procreate canvases are set to 180p, that is fine for a screen but if you want a crisp print 300p is the minimum.
If possible try out some paper options, like glossy, matte or natural paper, that part is a bit of trial and error, as different artstyles look better on different papers (at least I think so. For example I will never use glossy paper for my prints)
For print sizes, I have been experimenting alot with that and I recently decided I'll stick to Din-base sizes. Meaning all my small prints have DinA6 as base - > the short side of all prints are 105cm, all my medium prints have DinA5 as base and so on.

Hi! First of all, I'd like to thank you for making such a great little game. I absolutely love the concept of being the boss of a souls-like game and having to deal with a very determined, at first pathetically weak, constantly respawning player who just does not want to let go. I found many different elements in your game quite inspiring and wanted to ask a few (actually, many) questions about your general game development process, since my dream is to at some point create a small game that I could say with full certainty I poured my heart into and call mine. I did read all your devlogs I could find, yet I'm still curious for more. I apologize for the amount of words that will follow in advance.
For context: I have some programming experience in Unity (though only of a 3D game) and can do art adequately, although I've never tried doing stuff like pixel art, UI or sprite animation, so those concepts are quite foreign to me.
Regarding programming, how did you make the AI able to perfectly dodge your every attack to the point it gets annoying (besides obvious input-reading, that little shit)? What was the hardest thing for you to program that maybe you thought was never going to work and how did you approach overcoming those obstacles? And to flip it around, what were the *easiest* parts for you to program? Overall, how long did each part of the development process (art, writing, coding, music, etc.) take and what did you change most often? Also, what would you say about the experience of creating a game in Godot? I'd be interested in making a 2D game in it, rather than Unity, I think.
Regarding art, do you have some tips for sprite animation or animation techniques you've used to make it easier and to make it look good? What made you decide to settle on a pixel artstyle for this game? Would you recommend something for starting out in pixel art and sprite animation in general? Also, do you use some program specifically dedicated to creating pixel art? I'm *also* generally curious about the creation of your own assets for a 2D game, like UI and backgrounds or various objects in the scene, and making them all coherent visually (that particularly applies to UI work as I find the idea of creating a nice-looking UI quite difficult). I wonder, how many separate assets does the Queen's throne room consist of? Or is it all mostly a single drawing? I've never tried doing that before and would very much like to draw all of the assets for my game myself.
And regarding writing, what was your process for thinking up character dialogue and creating the 'voice' for the Queen and the Hero? I've seen you mention many rewrites and had to wonder just what was being changed the most. Was it the word choice, improving sentence flow, changing the overall story? Did you find it difficult to come up with what the characters should say? I enjoy writing some small things myself, though it never really turns into anything finished and is more of an assortment of half-started ideas and mostly just fun writing study for me in the end, and I'm always curious how writers manage to create interesting dialogue between characters.
I liked the fact you also made your own music for the game. I've been slowly trying to wrap my head around music theory recently with the goal of making one track for my game that I'd be happy enough with, so I know how tough it is to make something sound good without much know-how, lol. I enjoyed the music you made and it makes the game even more special knowing just how much effort was put into it.
Lastly and most importantly, what kept you going to eventually finish the game, since that is a point many games never even get to meet? Was it that you enjoyed the concept so much and wanted to see it until the very end or was it maybe a feeling it will all go to waste if you don't see it through? Both?
---
I apologize for the amount of questions! If I could, I'd just open up your head and peek inside to get the answers, but alas I cannot, lmao. Please don't feel obligated to answer everything if it's too much. I'll be happy to learn whatever more you share about the process behind this game.
Really, it's one of those games that will get stuck in my head and I'll think about from time to time despite it being so short, and I'd say that's a great achievement! So once again thank you for making it, haha.
Hello, and thank you for activating my trap card! I've got so much Mortholme info ready to go, your excellent questions have prompted a write-up long enough that I'm turning it into a sort of post-mortem blog post. Just a moment!

Disillusion, an Oneiric Dungeon Crawler
Tumblr media
Disillusion, and its sequel DisillusionST, are games I've been following intently, ever since I found out about them on a niche vaporwave forum three years ago.
The sequel is still in the works, but recently has garnered quite a bit of attention as Vinesauce played it on stream. Such attention is well deserved, as the dev's artstyle has come into his own, and the game showcases many extremly charming vingnettes reminiscent of early 2000s point and click games.
Tumblr media
However, for this post, I'd like to focus on the original work. While Disillusion is much more primitive in every aspect compared to the demo of ST, it still manages to be a very worthwile experience.
As flawed as it might be because of it's janky combat and color-vomit art direction, the execution of it's main concepts is still very worthy of praise.
In the original game we play as Golem, an amnesiac soul climbing a tower with the intent of achieving either nirvana or reincarnation.
Tumblr media
(My interpretation of the MC, made in Blender)
As it turns out, there are many wayward souls in the same journey. Most of them, however, have become lost and succumbed to insanity, as the more time one spends in the tower the more one's memories begin to meld with everyone else's.
Tumblr media
In our travels we meet and become allies with Melpomene, the muse of tragedy. She asks for our help in defeating Mara, the buddhist version of the devil, who has perched itself on top and trapped all of the wayward souls. She intends to use the tower to transform itself into a god and remake the universe in it's image.
Tumblr media
As for the game itself it is mostly a silly, psychedelic romp through a kaleidoscopic dungeon. Even though it's main themes are spiritual and introspective, the game is mostly meant to be fun and light.
Tumblr media
For example, there is a sidequest where in you have to smuggle sweet corn for the obese monarch of a fish kingdom.
Tumblr media
Because of this, the game can go from an off kilter-joke to something quite somber in the span of minutes.
Tumblr media
It's definitely weird, but it adds to the experience in my opinion.
Wanting to truly immerse myself (and make some fun content), I asked the dev the recipe for one of the game's healing items, a PBJ sandwich. PBJ stands for pickled pork, beans, and jelly. It's supposed to cure poison.
Tumblr media
I cooked it up and felt a bit poisoned afterwards.
In any case, if you want to hear my full thoughts and see my culinary experience, you can check it out in the video review on my youtube channel.

See ya next time.

There’s only one reason I can’t watch Arcane in its entirety. Now, before I explain why, let me preface by saying;
Media is a fantastic gateway for outsiders to see experiences that don’t reflect their own. This can especially be the case with mental illness. When done right, it provides a brief glimpse into the reality so many live with. Films and TV can show you a character hallucinating, and books can give you a front row seat to a panic attack. With that said…
Arcane is a fantastic show, and its depictions of mental illness are incredibly realistic. And that’s why I can’t complete it. Its depictions of mental illness are incredibly realistic. When I watch the scenes where Vi or Jinx are mentally spiralling, it inadvertently causes me to go into my own mental spiral because what is being portrayed is stuff I am far too familiar with.
And yet I still recommend the show. The artstyle, animation and story telling are some of the best in recent years. It’s got a bit of everything - bits of horror and romance and drama and the show starts out as a slightly more mature Disney adventure. The characters are all complex and sympathetic and you can understand where they are coming from, whether you agree with them or not. The music is fucking incredible (I adore “What Could Have Been”, talk about a fantastic ending.)
The sad reality is that mental illness can flare up over anything. Something innocent can remind you of the worst moments of your life. And it’s OK if you need to skip or avoid it for the time being. Just cause you’re not ready yet doesn’t mean you won’t ever be.

Get To Know People Better Tag Game
I was tagged by @graysparrowao3! Thank you and hi nice to meet you!
Three Ships:
I had to really think about it. I never really thought about if I had any favorite ships.
From Spy x Family (Loid x Yor) : Pretend to be in a relationship but end of up falling in love. It's really sweet how they parent Anya.
From Futurama (Fry x Leela): Friends to lovers vibes. This ship is more nostalgic. I enjoyed the journey of these two. The finale made me cry. I still need to get around to watching the Hulu reboot.
From The Flower of Evil (Jiwon x Hyun Soo) : How many times do I have to remind you that I love you? How many times will you fall in love all over again till you admit you're in love?
The angst and the drama with this married couple is so good.
Bonus: Bladeweave (Gale x Wyll) : Two people who will easily sacrifice themselves for others see the impact of those actions through each other's eyes. How can you ask the other not to sacrifice themselves when it's all they have known. I don't know. There is something there but I don't feel the need to write their story.
I still feel bad for not picking either one on my playthrough. Maybe when Patch 7 comes out.
First ship: I honestly don't remember. Most likely Mandy x Nergal Jr. from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy.
Last Song: Wham Bam Shang-A-Lang by Silver
Last Movie: Recently watched a horror movie called Long Legs. It was more strange than scary but I still got scared anyways. It's an a experience.
Currently reading: A House Called Tomorrow Fifty Years of Poetry by Copper Canyon Press. I just flip through to a random page and just start reading. It has been fun seeing what poem a get each day.
I got "On Finding a Field" by Tyree Daye today.
Some fanfiction:
Direct from Hell Logistics by Ineadhyn
Through the Gates of Horn and Oak by Sensoo
Currently watching: Dungeon Meshi
Currently Eating: Stir fry Buldak
Currently craving: Some inspiration and a apple fritter.
Favorite color: Navy Blue
Favorite flavour: Mango
Current Obsession:
BG3
Art (Been studying MINJYE artstyle on YouTube)
Alien Stage
Ultraman: Rising
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree
Last thing I googled: monk bg3. I wanted to know what spells they had access to.
Favorite Season: Winter
Skill I'd like to learn: Piano or guitar again. I took a long break from music. It would be nice to revisit it again.
Best advice: Stay hydrated and eat good food. Below are some words that I have to sometimes remind myself. I don't know if others needed to hear it as well but I am willing to share.
Through the struggles you weather hope is ever present. No matter how deep we choose to bury it. You will continue to move again. You will continue to struggle. You will try again and again because everything is temporary even the cave you've trapped yourself in.
Feel free join if you wish no pressure!

So I was gonna make this into a video game hot take of the day but I feel like this actually just makes me so upset that it’s not a hot take. It’s just bewilderment at the general video game landscape that’s getting underneath my skin.
So recently Nintendo’s big teaser for Emio was revealed and it’s a sequel to Famicom Detective Club. Cult classic visual novel style game franchise. And to say the disappointment from people was very swift. Now I could make a joke about the obvious “people complain about Nintendo not bringing back old IP but then when they do they’re like ‘no not that one!’” But honestly, I feel like that’s really played out and that doesn’t really bother me like that’s just dealing with hard-core Nintendo fans on a daily basis. No, the thing that bothers me is from a different disappointed reaction.
Since Emio was just a teaser with no explanation that meant that you could fill in the blank yourself, because there was no real explanation. It was just there to make you excited. Reactions ranged from “oh it’s a new IP” or “It’s made by Bloober Team” or the big one “Nintendo is doing a hard M rated horror game like Resident Evil.”
Now, I understand being disappointed because people got hyped and probably constructed their own perception of what it be and when it wasn’t what they wanted they got upset. You know, it’s the double edge of hype. While I think “it isn’t what I wanted” is kind of silly in the grand scheme of salty takes, I still get it. But the reaction that has been just getting under my skin and bothering me is people saying “I wanted to see Nintendo make a horror game and they’re just a visual novel.”
I cannot tell you how much this is driving me up a wall because it is a horror game. Like it objectively is a horror game. Yes it’s a visual novel, but it’s still a game with horror elements in it. It’s a horror game. Like this doesn’t feel like it should be one of those debates on “what’s an RPG versus what’s an action RPG” that was happening like a year or two ago. This is a horror game but it’s not a horror game like say, resident evil or silent hill you know it’s not a survival horror game. And I swear those games and their popularity, have kind of messed with people on what they perceive as a horror game or if I told you that this is a horror game.
But like not 10 years ago you have some thing like five nights at Freddy’s, which is really not like say a resident evil type of game and it was possibly the biggest horror franchise in pop culture for a time. Then you have games that leaned more into the action element of like a horror adventure likes a dead space, which again was also very popular. I would still consider it a survival horror game. But it feels vastly different from like say silent hill as a horror game. Then there’s something like Who’s Lila? Perhaps the most unique take on a horror experience I’ve ever had to experience. It’s artstyle, facial control mechanics, opening another file on your PC to add into the mystery and unnerving atmosphere, are nothing you’d get playing Resident Evil or System Shock. But it still is horror. Just like Famicom Detective is horror.
Again, just to be crystal clear, I totally understand if you are disappointed if this is not, your brand of video game and if you wanted something else, that is completely understandable. You know, I’m probably not going to play this myself because I’ve personally don’t like playing through visual novels when I have a big bag catalogue to go through. That doesn’t mean I just like them. I loved Paranormasight. I did a Playthrough of Danganronpa 1 and V3 on this blog. Like it is not a genre that I am “unable to read.” But it still is a horror game, it’s a rated M game with murder suspense and suicide, it’s horror. Being a visual novel does not disqualify it from horror.
I’m sorry for this rant being very off the car. This is just something that is bugging the hell out of me because I know some people are gonna say well you’re being pedantic and I probably am but like this just bothers me.

Tagged by @momonica05 and @skywayoctane !!!
list 5 topics you can talk about for an hour without prepping any material
How roboky went from a joke character to the best guilty gear character, why he's literally me, why him and venom were BORN to be friends and why i think gg strive NEEDS him in the roster.
Why i am obsessed with john cena along with fun facts about him. I already made my friends listen to me talking about him for more than a hour btw (sorry ayla), and that was BEFORE the oscars.
Monster high dolls, i've been in this collecting bullshit since i was 7. By that i mean actually watching reviews in other languages i coudn't understand yet, checking out the prettiest dolls to show to my aunt that lives in the united states so she could buy them for me since it would be cheaper that way, i'd wait months for them to arrive. My most recently aquired possesion was the jack and sally skullector dolls.
The entire apocalipse saga from the turma da monica jovem manga. You've seen those archie comics with a more realistic comic book artsyle right? Yeah a similar thing happened in brazil with the most famous brazillian comic series of all time, it got a manga version instead tho. I am a proud owner of all the first 110 chapters.
Jibaku shounen hanako kun. Like, in general. The artstyle, the protagonist, the worldbuilding, how yashiro and hanako are a lovely pair, the way the minamoto family dynamics are written, how aoi is literally me, whatever the fuck kou and mitsuba have going on, the list goes on.
Lists of damage that toxic chemicals like lead, mercury, cadmium and arsenic can cause on the human body. The reason i don't need to prepare any material is because wverything is already prepared
Teenage mutant ninja turtles, i've been in love with the tmnt franchise since i was a little kid with my tmnt backpack. I have at least a little something to say about most versions, and there are lots of them. The rant about why micheal bay's version is actually peak would last a decent portion of the time limit i think
Shiori experience, it's one of my favorite mangas rn and i could go on forever about it. The story, the protagonist, the characters, FUCKING JIMI HENDRIX, the artstyle, the movement on each panel, the fact that somehow they managed to draw MUSIC in a way that makes you almost hear it by just looking at the panels without even writing out the lyrics for you.
That was more than six actually my bad. You're supposed to tag people to do the same right? It's been months since i've been tagged and i can't remember teehee~ @aygaaazef1r0 @amndrkwe @belateeegfya14 start writting chop chop

I've been in a rut as of late, and I really want to get better at form and anatomy. Your style is one of my favorite ones ever, what would you say were your biggest inspirations throughout the years?
hey, first of all i’m so very sorry for the late reply. hope you get to see this still since it’s been a while since you sent this ask... sorry
secondly, thanks a lot! i try to give some insights here, this question's always kinda hard for me to tackle because i'm having a hard time identifying my style and what makes it tick, idk... i guess it's a combination out of everything i like, starting from the artstyle of tf2 to various styles of my mutuals and people around here (but i think tf2, wanting to draw humans ever since i first laid eyes on tf2 and the cartoony artstyle of it all are my major fuels, ngl).
as for anatomy and form: this is a matter i just recently pushed myself into because i felt really stuck in my ways. like... i never really did studies in my life, so when i wanted to draw i kind of had to count on it to ‘just work’, idk if this makes sense... i always felt like i didn’t actually know what i was doing there, and i worked with ref a lot (i would always recommend using ref, no matter what, what i want to say is that i realized i had not enough fundament to truly fool around in the way i liked to). and now that i started actually doing anatomy studies i feel so dumb because yeah. it IS making things easier x) i understand tho that for most it’s a motivational issue... you have to find a way to make it work for you. like doing studies, but implementing what you learned into a sketch of your blorbo, as an example.
as for resources, it’s hard to find good tutorials, mostly because the place is flooded with art bros trying to tell you “you don’t NEED anatomy and here is why” and then they make a sketch and you can SEE that they put SO MUCH ANATOMICAL KNOWLEDGE INTO IT. so there’s a lot of bs out there. there is good stuff out there tho, but it might take you a while to find what’s best suited for you. i could make a list of yt channels that really helped me but the thing is, everyone is at their own lvl and with different goals in mind, so i don’t think this would be very helpful.
what i can link you to tho are 2 videos that really opened my eyes in regards of a) finding your style and b) getting better at drawing a certain topic.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLfH9yOGs3o - this video tackles the whole ‘finding your style’ topic. because i often give the tip that you don’t find your style, style finds you (and i still think that is in its regards correct, because you just get subconsciously influenced by the media you consume and like and your fave artists’ style’s if you really dig them) but the ability to actively WORK on your style is there. it’s just something you have to put a lot of work into. but we’ll never stop learning, so there’s that. (she describes it with her landscape drawings but really this works for anything... from dynamic linework to just trying to find the right energy in your pictures)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0ufz75UvHs - this one really helped me getting over my fear of ‘drawing something ugly’ (big words from someone drawing ugly men as a hobby) but hear me out... because i have a weird brain that makes me recoil from something my mind thinks is ‘imperfect’ i really often get stuck with my art and either don’t experiment at all or get stuck with a sketch and spending hours on it trying to fix it... so approaching this matter like the video described just... melted that away. because when you draw 20 faces a day just telling yourself “NOBODY will EVER see this” you start loosening up... or at least i did. it’s also good for an analytical brain or people who strongly lean into that. this approach was especially nice while being stuck in an artblock... because i could easily just fool around and it kind of changed how i see doing art... like... nothing is ever perfect so i don’t have to make it perfect, i can analyze my art through a more neutral lense than my emotional attachment to it now... does that make sense?
last but not least, there are a ton of good resources out there for anatomical studies, my fave is still “anatomy for sculptors, understanding the human figure” by uldis zarins sandis kondrats.
SORRY THIS GOT A BIT LONGER BUT i put A LOT of thought into this as of late so yeah... maybe it’s gonna help someone too
