He’s right, the movie cast was incredible. I still have issue with the movie but everyone in it was perfect. It also grossed almost 300mil dollars so what do I know.

Also the way he speaks about the movie and trying to persevere the fact that the animatronics are kids is actually something I really appreciate. I’m glad he had that intention and I can see where he was coming from.

It actually did make me really sad to hear that when he read critics reviews he started freaking out. Like I can tell he put a lot of work in it and it’s been in production hell for so long.

Can’t wait for the second movie. I know I’ve been a hater but I had a great time with the first one

I’m a little bit sad that the said he tends to lean towards Sci-Fi because I prefer the more down-to-earth or paranormal aspects and elements but that’s okay. I can always ignore them :)

what even happens in cross worlds? I tried playing it but got overwhelmed really fast

god. so. so many things.

i record cross worlds' story and upload it to youtube so you can watch the actual thing over there if you want. however if you don't want to (understandable) here are my personal highlights

the main plot of the game is that you sign up for a beta test of a vr game but it turns out the company is actually just sending people to ni no kuni. they're doing this by taking your soul and putting it into the body of your soul mate, so they have two souls, and you get put in control - your soul mate's soul is dormant. eventually drippy takes them out of dormancy and you speak to them for a bit and after regaining their bearings they wish you luck and just hang out in there now. this is, admittedly, sick as hell

your soul mate's best friend and the drippy/lofty of this game, cluu (who i love. sorry to all cluu haters out there but he's my guy.) doesn't know you're a "player" (what the people who signed up for the beta are now called) until a few chapters in. i do wish they'd done more with this but when he finds out he's confused and horrified but eventually says you have the same goal as him so he wants to keep travelling with you anyway

there's this fun little found family dynamic between two players, varum (who in ichi no kuni was a no life gamer (his words.) and now in ni no kuni he's a fucking raccoon who leads a band of players who stick together to find solidarity (because they thought they were signing up for a game and now they are in a DIFFERENT WORLD AWAY FROM THEIR FRIENDS AND FAMILY)) and tariq (a player who is a middle schooler who joins varum's troupe. i just enjoy him.) i don't have much to say on them i just like them

ZERA. was a developer on the "game" who was the first ever tester on it and hasn't figured out a way to get home in TEN YEARS. she's been living in ni no kuni introducing ichi no kuni tech and trying her best to get home. she is ever so important to me. girl we will get you out of there

i literally completely forgot to mention edelian and envie who were rivals at the same magic academy and now edelian works for evermore's guard and envie is part of the main villains (who are working to break up evermore into separate nations i think...???? i can't actually remember.) yeah they're yuri

if cross worlds was good and more popular cyrus would be a tumblr sexyman. that's all i have to say on the matter

LUXERION!!! luxerion is my favourite character as he is an immortal world keeper (the world keepers are like. they keep the peace/balance of the world and there are five and they each have one of the elements assigned to them. also they're dragons) and he's the world keeper of light and he is responsible for the destruction of a kingdom and he would DO IT AGAIN!!!!! but he regrets that he had to because he found a child's pocket watch in the rubble and cast insight on it and saw the kid's memories and now he's kind of fucked up about it. also at one point he's like "i'd cast travel to take you to this place but i haven't been there since they relocated due to a recent flood :( sorry" and then you ask around for where this place is and the girl you talk to is like "are you talking about the great goldpaw flood from hundreds of years ago." i love you luxerion

god there's probably more i just can't think of it right now. the issue with cross worlds is that the story and characters are PRETTY GOOD. pissed off about it

Do any of you guys believe ghosts are real? Any experiences you blame on a hypothetical ghost?

What about the skeptics of the pack? Do you indulge the believers or is it a Shane and Ryan (Ghost Files) like dynamic where you just "no its 1001 things before its a ghost" and, in the "nicest" way possible, make fun of them?

"Oh absolutely ghosts are real." Jisung says immediately, eyes dark and wide and completely serious, as he nods gravely. "No doubt."

"Oh my god." Seungmin rolls his eyes. "Not this again."

Jisung whirls on the other beta with a wild look in his eyes, waving his finger erratically.

"You know there's no way in hell I left my window open that night! It was locked!"

"You just forgot to latch it. And this house is old. And there was a thunderstorm with insane winds that evening. What a coincidence."

Jisung huffs and folds his arms over his chest, lips pulling into a pout, before he grumbles sourly under his breath, "Seungmin's obviously a hater."

"I don't believe in ghosts. I believe in science."

"Do you believe in my fist making contact with your face?"

"Try it. I dare you."

"I'm with Seungmin on this one. Surprising, I know." Minho states matter of factly, ignoring the betrayed look Jisung shoots him from across the room. "Ghosts? Supernatural Beings? It's all bullshit made up for campfire stories."

"No way." Hyunjin is already shaking his head emphatically. "I'm with Jisung, which is also surprising, but here we are. Ghosts are totally real. Remember when Innie came to visit me in the lab after hours and all the test tubes fell off the table across the room and shattered?"

"That was terrifying." Jeongin agrees, nodding solemnly. "Legit thought we were gonna be next. Like the poltergeist or something."

"Hah!" Jisung points at Seungmin triumphantly. "Explain that one, Mr. Science Man!"

Seungmin sighs. "Gravity exists, Jisung. Because, again, science."

"I totally used to see a man in my house growing up." You interject, and Jisung looks even more vindicated, giving Seungmin a long, silent stare. "My parents thought it was just kid's imagination, an imaginary friend or something, but it got worse as I got older and eventually, they called in like this lady? Who saged our house and I never saw the man again." You shrug.

"That's scary." Felix whispers, pulling the blanket on his lap up to his chin and cuddling against Minho for safety, his eyes wide. "I hate that."

"I don't believe in ghosts or anything supernatural." Chan says with a slight shrug. "Mainly because I think our minds are a powerful thing, and a lot of times we see what we want to see, or what we don't."

Changbin nods in agreement. "Same here."

"You just don't believe because Seungmin's your moonmate and he's brainwashed you with all his stupid science talk." Jisung protests grumpily, glaring at the other beta.

Seungmin shrugs. "Science has been proven. Ghosts have not."

"I believe." Felix adds, looking slightly less terrified now, Minho's arm looped loosely over his shoulders, Jeongin cuddled up to his side. "But I also don't think every supernatural has to be bad or terrifying either. I think a lot of ethereal beings are misunderstood."

"Of course you would." Jisung rolls his eyes, but it's good natured, and he sends the omega a warm grin. "Leave it to Felix to see the good in everyone, even ghosts."

(Temporary) Final Thoughts of Pomefiore Arc

Since this is my official first-time experience of playing this 'live', I haven't read the translation fully. So, I'll probably re-doing this after reading/watching everything.

Essentially what I like and what I'm mixed with.

I will first address something that has been bugging me since early update. And that's about the delay. Now, I'm not going to talk about the actual delay, but the reaction. Lots of people complaining and blaming the staff and just... Guys, give them some slack. Do you know what happens when you rush production? You'll get something like Frozen 2, where they had to edit so much stuff in just 6 months before the release date because of the failed test screening. As someone who once made an RPG, coding is hard, especially something massive like Twisted-Wonderland. Sitting in front of your computer for six hours straight, coding and beta testing over and over, making the OST, scripting, voice acting. This is a massive group project and it can't be rushed even if you want to unless you want it to be glitching so bad like the Ghost Marriage incident (or was it Fairy Gala?)

Especially during this pandemic and all its protocol. My parents are professors and even they don't go to campus every day, instead, they use zoom to teach and for work meetings. I barely go out from my own house except for physical therapy and volunteer work, which usually once in two weeks because we take turns. Are you saying the staff must risk their health just for a gacha game? Guys, they might be a professional, but they are still human. Cut some slacks. Be grateful we haven't gone into absolute development hell. Yes, the Halloween event was big, but Pomefiore Arc is part of the Main Story, of course, they will give extra care compare to filler event (which might be created in the first place to give them more time in Pomefiore Arc development, which is why we don't get any Christmas event)

On to the story, I don't know how to rate the scale, but it might be slightly lower than Scarabia Arc. Can you really compare a school talent show to a rebellion? Also, in paper, this should be more light-hearted than the four arcs before it.

However, the lack of stake didn't reduce the content quality. From what I remember, there is not a single chapter that can be count as filler, from Yuu's befriending Mickey, the understandably training arc, Vil's unique magic, Deuce and Epel bonding, and the actual VDC (but I do think the tour around the campus with Riddle and Trey was a bit boring)

Also, slight worldbuilding. We finally see Sage Island in its full glory and found out RSA is a freaking Disney Castle and on the same island!

This also gives us possibly the longest rhythm game, plus chibi Jamil rapping. There's just a lot of singing in this episode, which is understandable.

I appreciate Yuu finally taking notice of the Great Seven dreams, which I hope we can get more of this and actually do something with this and not just Disney Movie references, which later in the Episode shows Yuu sort of connecting their dream and Vil's poisoning attempt.

Speaking of Vil, he's a fantastic character. Okay, I aware that we can't like all characters, there will be haters anywhere. But it seems like Vil is hated a lot because he's 'arrogant' and 'only care about beauty'. Guys, he's not Jeffery Star. This Episode shows Vil as someone much more: a hard worker, passionate in acting, and a great teacher. I always see Vil as the more mature of the cast, the mentor. And he's also basically bullied when he was a child. "TV told me how to feel" as they would say, and children believe everything they saw on TV, so of course they would see Vil as the villain. It's also interesting, as someone mentioned earlier, how Vil is a foil to Leona, where Leona just gave up, Vil doesn't stop and keep striving, and that's an admirable trait. He just wants to get the protagonist role for once and break the norm.

Another character that I like is the new combo, DeuPel (Deuce and Epel). I should've known that they will be bad boy buddies with one trying to get away from the past, while the other wants to embrace it but can't at the moment. The shouting moment at the beach is wonderful despite I haven't read the full translation. Separately, Deuce shines so much with his willingness to learn. Meanwhile, Epel finally respecting Vil and all the training is probably one of the best character development so far.

Why one of the best? Because Kalim has great character development. How he grows to be more mature in this Episode really warms my heart. Again, I need to read/watch the translation to appreciate this more. The way he reassures Jamil to take the part as the main singer, but at the same time work hard to maybe get a spot as well is great.

Sadly, because Epel taking the spotlight as Deuce's partner, Ace was sort of underused. Same as Jamil, but sort of worse since he overblotted in the last chapter but has less development than Kalim. Rook also might seem doesn't do much, but he's more as Vil's support, which is why I kinda forgive him.

But, the highlight of this is probably our very own Snow White, Neige Blanche. Can I just say how much I appreciate that Niege doesn't have a dark side? He's a sweet boy and I just really appreciate that considering we're surrounded by a cast of not so great people, it's kinda refreshing to see someone just pure. The dwarves' design are also adorable, can't really say more since we haven't seen them in depth.

And since this is a School Festival Arc, all 22 students have a cameo. I know some people who are thrilled to finally Idia in the main story and to meed Che'nya again since Episode 1.

Unfortunately, Crowley proved to be useless again. When he finally appears in this final update I screamed: "SIR! Where were you?!"

Let's go back with Rook. What he did in the last update was definitely shocking. I knew something is wrong when he smiles after Vil's monologing. So this is the only time through the update I read the translation. And I sort of get it.

So, Rook and Vil's relationship should mirror how the Evil Queen and the huntsman. I mentioned above that Rook is Vil's support and I mean that. Rook and Vil's relationship is another level of prefect and their vice. It's just fascinating. Rook is just as reliable as Jade, but also not afraid to against his perfect like Jamil, also is not afraid to say something against his perfect, unlike Trey.

And it shows in this finale. Rook is always praising the beauty of things and Vil's hard works is truly a sight, but the way Vil unable to believe in himself, it clouded what is supposed to be something truly beautiful. Compare to Neige who is basically Snow White, the purest Disney Princess, there's just no way Rook would not pick RSA. I admit, I was pissed when RSA win, but when Rook started talking, I knew there was something more. And I finally found it. Rook's message is basically "believe in yourself", the most Disney-thing ever.

Saving the best (or worst) for last, I was terrified when Grim happened. We already guess that Grim is the same monster in the prologue, but I never thought it will happen so soon. The flashed of the monster and Yuu's carriage is also a point, but we have so little info that he can't pull a conclusion yet. Is this a timeloop? Is this a vision? This is the darkest ending we've gotten and I'm scared of what will happen.

Overall, Pomefiore Arc is an enjoyable Episode, definitely a step up emotionally. The cast are wonderful as always, the theme of hard work and believing in yourself are spot on, Vil's hero journey is great (I'll give more explanation soon). Great job, team.

Your writing skills are astounding and I’m so thankful for your incredible depiction of Sakura’s bad-ass personality and story in this fic. Not only that, I am amazed at all the consistently LARGE contribution you used to upload weekly because the quality is literally off the charts. I’m so thankful that you’re taking a break because I know that accomplishing all of this as well as you do cannot be easy! I've had a lot of people tell me how much the weekly updates were grounding and a breath of fresh air in this pandemilovato but your comment has to be one of the best I've got so far because.... oh man, I desperately need not only others but also myself to realise just how taxing it was.

So yeah, thank you for loving my story but also thank you for reminding myself that it was a HUGE accomplishment and that it's okay if I maybe can't meet it anymore. I've recently begun digging deep into myself and started going to more intensive (and intrusive) therapy and had some diagnosis that are pretty mindblowing in a way and now I'm trying to be mindful not to push myself to my limits. It's hard af, let me tell you, I know the potential I have and it feels normal to always want to achieve it but I gotta remind myself that maybe my "full potential" isn't as healthy as I thought it was.

For a bit of an update on how my process is coming along: I got sick. Covid got me y'all and I still only had the first dose and suffer from asthma so daaamn this motherfucker's got hands. No need to worry about me tho!! My tests are coming back okay and at least my fever is gone BUT that means my brain is a bit like mush rn and while I'm still working, I'm doing so veeery much slower. Anyways, covid was just the cherry on top this month but I don't want to get too deep into it.

I genuinely think Fire Fridays were good not only for you guys (esp during that time back in 2020 where literally everyone was at home and routines were thrown out the window faster than you can say defenestration) but also for me, it gave me a nice sense of "normal" when everything was shit. Uuhh as you've seen in my last AN, I dropped out of college and am currently pursuing other dreams/way of living so I think having that set date will help me A LOT while juggling real life and fandom life. That being said, some things had to change.

First of all is the way of seeing Fire Fridays as if it's a deadline set by my boss. Nah, I don't get paid for writing fanfiction and I'm done treating it as a job. I know not a lot of people have the same care that you did while commenting and there is a lot of nagging and grumbling about Fire Fridays (even if sometimes those comments are even sweet while they do it) but I'm incredibly proud to say that comments from people in the internet I don't know hardly have an affect on me. Lol y'all haters can hate but I'm my worse critic and I fkn know it, nothing you say will change the way I see myself and my work. That being said, a lot of that nagging was being unconsciously done by me *gasp* I know. I'm an overachiever. Shocking.

NO MORE OF THAT.

Next order of business is how I was going about Fire Fridays. My first break came because I literally didn't have any "spare chapters" meaning, I wrote, edited, sent for my Beta to edit, and then edited myself again a whole ass 9k monster every week and that shit was like a kick to the ass right into the general direction of Burnout City. Not fun. So I took a "break" which wasn't really a break because I still wrote 71k words in that month and when I started back up with Fire Fridays, I had a lot of chapters to post, right? WRONG. If each chapter had 10k words (which is roughly what was happening on an average), that meant I only had 7 new chapters to post with severe burnout making it practically impossible for me to write anything else to the point that I couldn't even bring myself to edit the first drafts of those chapters. Again. Not fun.

So now, my idea has been: try to aim for Fire Fridays in a healthy way but also let my readers know they might not get another batch of those lovely what? six months of new chapters every friday. What does that mean? Well, it means I'm trying to write some chapters ahead! So while y'all aren't really getting anything since the last chapter, that has been a conscious decision on my part not to leave y'all with horrible cliffhangers when I can't be sure I'll make quick enough updates (and that definition has changed to maybe twice a month? We'll see). I'm writing. It's going fairly slowly by my standards but since I've come really close to giving up on DoF in favour of RL original content, I'm proud of it.

Uncharted 2: MP Beta

I was lucky enough to be the recipient of a spare beta key for the PS3’s Uncharted 2: Among Thieves multiplayer beta. It opened last Wednesday and I’ve been hitting it every night since. The game was not even on my radar of possible purchases, but the beta has got me very interested in the game. The only experience I had with the first Uncharted game, Drake’s Fortune, was just the demo. I had been waiting for some time for the game to either become old enough to have its msrp lowered significantly, or for enough used copies to make their way onto shelves that they would be on the cheap. Neither of these things seemed to happen because the retail version is still forty bucks at least, and the pre-owned usually only lower by a fiver.

The MP Beta is actually making me consider buying the game when it comes out so I can be on the lead end of the charge of people playing online, but what’s also intrigued me is the single player (or co-op) campaign. I tried a bit of the co-op that is available in the beta, and it was rather fun. I’d say not as fun as the deathmatch or plunder missions, but at times almost as intense. I’d still like to get the first game and run through it to have a better back story before soldiering on, but since the first game doesn't have any multiplayer, I may be driven straight to Uncharted 2.

I’ve played many beta’s in my gaming life, but all of them have been on the PC. I must say its refreshing playing a test version of a game and have it not be plagued with problems. That’s not to say there isn't any, but there not largely noticeable. Save the one that resets your PS3 every time you quit the game. But, I'm not certain that this is happening to everyone, so it may be an isolated incident.

The graphics are very solid, VERY solid, and the physics seem pretty realistic in my opinion. Your foot speed isn't too fast, or too slow, and the default controls work well for me (and I'm someone who typically hates shooters on consoles). The cover system is a real gem, but I think it’s not always precise. You can (well, I can) sometimes accidentally take cover where you don’t mean to. I’ve had a couple instances where I tried to hug up against a pillar, just to wind up on the wrong side aiming my profile at the enemy. But, I suck, so your results may vary.

I hope they make the MP Beta a demo for all to try, because if it can make someone like me (console shooter hater) like it, then it should convince a lot more people.

Since our last cyberharassment attack by hateful individuals on Tumblr that fail to support Star Wars fandom and lie about other fans, I will share my thoughts as a Black woman who is engrossed in the Star Wars fandom and has minor support from Lucasfilm.

My real life experience is entrenched in social justice for over 30 years. I’ve marched with Hosea Williams and Ralph Abernathy against the Klu Klux Klan in Georgia. I’ve spoken to Andrew Young and always to Christine Farris, sister of Martin Luther King, Jr. I have had conversations with several Nobel Laureates because of my scientific interests like the first person to show that there are organelles in cells, George Palade, and the first persons to prove that heart-liver transplants correct for Heredity Familial Hyperlipidemia, Michael Brown and Joseph Goldstein. I’ve met Jonas Salk before he died. My grandfather was president of Bethune Cookman College in Daytona Beach, Florida, Dr. Richard V. Moore who use to work closely with Mary McLeod Bethune and met the Roosevelts...I come from that world and I made a heavy choice in 2008 to walk away from all of it, because why should I have to keep proving my worth to those who fail to do their appropriate search, study, research and reading?  In 1988, my Amnesty International college group at Spelman put forth a decree at a national meeting to end Apartheid in South Africa. I helped write that proposal and I almost bled to death due to a health issue.

In 1992, I was in Las Vegas, Nevada in the area of town that rioted due to the Rodney King verdicts in the Los Angeles Riots. The City turned off the water and power in that community. I never told my parents because at that time, I was an adult.

I found another way to make change, through awareness programs and I chose health. But, I finished my degree and I moved to Texas, where I suffered a seizure in 2003. I came face to face with what healthcare duping was. I vowed to end that process in 2009 through supporting Obamacare. In 2004 through 2006, I had support of my local Seattle Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation with health care awareness initiatives. I had Pfizer and Swedish Hospital for support. I walked away from that due to health and career changes. My career shows that in cardiac and pancreatic beta islet cells, DNA damage is similar to that in cancer cells. Since these cells do not divide, what do they do? I could not get funding under President Bush’s administration.

My other research says that regulators of G-protein coupled signalers (RGS proteins) that are along the blood vessels, can change cardiac output to adjust for blood pressures in mice. A scientist in my lab that had these animals for 2 years and no data got jealous of me and decided it was better to disparage me than to answer the key question why. My data was stolen as it was presented publicly without my advanced knowledge. Rather than incur the bigoted hate that I’d suffer, I walked away.

So I have no problem in walking away when foolishness starts because my health and disabilities are a major issue to me, but what I won’t do is quit when I create something forged from my own hands, because some fools think it is fair to hurt a Black woman like Zimmerman killing Trayvon in brutality. What will happen is I will move the Universe to shift in my favor. To some people, that hurts. But that is why.

Since I was small, I’ve loved Star Wars as a fan. My first book I purchased was Alan Dean Foster’s, “Splinter in the Mind’s Eye”. I’ve read several Star Wars books that are mostly Legends now. “NON CANON” as some fools would say, That is foolish, because ANY REAL CREATIVE INTELLIGENT PERSON DEVELOPS IDEAS FROM MANY SOURCES! It’s has always been a tidbit from one story, and addition of a trope here, and use of the literature elsewhere to create and fashion proper stories. Which is WHAT STAR WARS ACTORS GUILD 77 DOES. Then we perform them, which has slacked, I must admit to that, due to dealing with my parents being sick and me being sick. Life has not given us fairness lately. Sorry for that. I’ll try treat asshole fans who are selfish better.

Being an influencer sounds exciting; you get paid to talk about things you like, you get to build up a fanbase, and you get a lot of free stuff. But everything in life has its upsides and downsides. For example, consider the celebrities that complain about being famous or being stalked by paparazzi — what might sound exciting for some, can be a significant issue for others. As you can see at the Celebs Complain twitter-handle, even those who like fame sometimes complain about random things. You can find Kim Kardashian’s complaints about bleaching her roots for 13 hours or Demi Lovato’s grievances about taking her makeup off when she wants to sleep.

That being said, if even celebrities are complaining, then influencers probably have a lot to say about the disadvantages of their occupation too. At the same time, if more people are trying to become influencers every day, then there must be some perks to the job; so what are upsides and downsides of being an influencer?

Life can be hard

Influencers are always busy. When Man Repeller asked four influencers if their job was fun, most of them said, yes…but there was more to it. The main hardship these influencers brought up was all the work it takes to build a brand and get things done daily. One of them said that “Blogging is one of those 24/7 jobs,” and that she cannot ever shut off. Another explains how her “days are filled with meetings and emails and not fun stuff.” And not only is your schedule always full, it often tends to be different every day.

Life is unpredictable for an influencer. Harling Ross talked to three influencers about their day-to-day life, highlighting how challenging and exciting the unpredictability can be. But, they say it can be tough to define priorities to focus on or get organized. For example, in one of Caspar’s videos, he explains how he ended up breaking up with his girlfriend since he had to travel too much. And if you want a funny take on unpredictability, Ryan Higa has a video about the ups and downs of a YouTuber career. He talks about haters and how one day you are excited and the next day bummed about something happening on your channel — and this goes beyond YouTube.

Balancing real life with social media is challenging; if this is difficult for regular people, imagine balancing life and social media when you work through social media platforms. Many influencers bring this up as an issue, like Alisha Marie and her guests in this video on what no one knows about being a social media influencer. They mention it can get isolating and you can spend a very long time editing a video. Which leads us to our next issue;

You can spend a lot of time thinking about the future, instead of enjoying the present. On Alisha’s video, YouTubers discuss how they get wrapped up in what they are creating next, instead of enjoying success. Sometimes, that is what the job requires; occasionally you attend an event but miss the whole thing because you have to post a video by the end of the day. But you cannot forget to pay attention to your health and happiness, because being wrapped up in the future can be related to anxiety, like in the experience this anonymous influencer shares.

But, it is still a lot of fun!

Like any other career out there, a career as an influencer will have its challenges. But there are many perks as well.

You can get free stuff; this might be one of the most cliche things to say, but it’s true. Some influencers talk about how they get invited for a free meal in exchange for a mention, others will tell the story of a luxury trip, some are very excited to cover events. And if you talk to Beauty and Fashion influencers, they will probably list many products they got to test for free.

You can make connections; this is, of course, a big part of the business, but it is also one of the pleasures of the job. For instance, consider how emotional Abigail gets in this video while talking about meeting a subscriber personally and getting many loving messages from her followers.

You can use your influence to have a positive impact; there are many examples of this, like when influencers get invited to participate in campaigns or events to raise awareness or funds. And you also have influencers concerned about specific topics. For example, influencers who are eco-friendly or those who advocate for gender equality.

It gets more fun with time! According to Ryan Higa, once you go through the ups and downs of the career, you learn to enjoy more the fun parts and not worry too much about the disadvantages.
