Doing some form of visible mending on a vintage Monsoon skirt cheerfully purchased in Oxfam, Keswick. Stitching together the memories of honeymooning in the Lake District one very hot July, keeping things together and not fraying away... It's not just clothes that are cherished with mending but the memories caught between the threads too, every stitch a star to wish on for more magical moments, more adventures caught within trees

Serrastretta is a tiny village at 1000 mt above the level sea, in the Calabrian mountains and is surrounded by immense and dense beech forests and chestnut trees and numerous sources of spring water.

Serrastretta was long called “the city of chairs,’’ because generations of artisans handcrafted furniture from beech wood with seats fashioned from woven reeds.

In the territory of Serrastretta also porcini mushrooms are found, particularly in areas where chestnut trees grow.

Today was HOT. 30°C in the shade. So we went for a very short walk in the beech forest bc it's shaded and cool. Still didn't manage more than 2k. Had to use an umbrella in the sun to avoid heat stroke.. but just as I write this the wind has picked up and the sky has clouded over and it's blessedly cooler. A week of rain will be very welcome.
