Welcome to the family! I bought a pot with two tiny ones and I only kept this one because I'll gift the other one to my grandpa for his birthday today!

Oh I love it so much already, it produces oxygen at night, purifies the air and is so Feng Shui approved.

Here they are, my Aspidistra called Crowley and my Snake Plant on my bedside table, I think I'll call it Anthony J. Manlio

Plant update!

About ten days ago I decided to move inside a bunch of plants because it suddenly got really cold at night (below 13° C). When I first got the Aspidistra I meant to have it in my bedroom but it was kept outside up untill that point (23rd august). So I gradually put it inside, at first in the dining room next to all the other ones and I kept the window opened and all the lights switched on to somewhat acclimate them. After a few days I moved her to my bedroom in the sunniest spot and here she is now!

This pic was taken yesterday around sunrise (yes there's a butterfly right under the vase, I freed it right after)

And here she is today!!!!! The biggest leaf is more than 50cm long and I put it like that so it's resting against my nightstand.

And sadly I noticed that two out of three baby leaves are dead... I guess it was too crowded and they didn't get enough light and air, also the repotting was a bit harsh so maybe the roots were also damaged.

But here is the one baby leaf that's still alive and well!! The dark spots are just a bit of dirt. I noticed that the very tip is yellowish and drying up. I watered it today so I hope it'll recover 😥

Last night I got woken up by some mysterious erratic thumping outside on the building. It instantly shot me into the nighttime Fear. I tried to calm myself down but couldn’t sleep. I kept imagining I was about to hear the sliding glass door shatter or hear a malevolent creak on the stairs.

I eventually slunk my way into my wife’s room to whimper about it. They grabbed a wooden sword and patrolled the perimeter, returning to report all was okay.

Today we’re both super tired but I’m grateful I have a partner who doesn’t get grumpy about my irrational stuff.
