I'm not in support of the war or anything, but I think the young man in the letter meant people he was protecting his family from, people that are or were trying to kill people for unimaginable reasons or none at all. I think it's really sad that when people don't support the war or the cause or whatever they think that soldiers can't be heroes. I've known lots of young men in the army and I think that trying to protect the people you love and their freedom makes them heroes. :\

I don't support any of it. I don't think they are bad people, but I don't see them as heroes either. Just my own opinion. I sick of getting shit for the same shit over and over. But I shall explain my reasoning yet again for those who have not already heard (and for those who have I am sorry for repeating myself). I don't get sad when I hear a soldier died, yes its unfortunate and shouldn't have had to happen but let's get real, they signed up for this they knew the dangers and went along with it. It would break me if a family member left for war knowing they can die, it would break me knowing they knew how bad I'd suffer if something happened to them and going for it anyway. Yes I would be all for it if there was true danger threatening us, but do you really know what this war is about? No none of us do. The whole 9/11 thing still isn't completely understood so how can we be supporting a war that happened because something we still have understanding of. They aren't quote on quote heroes in my eyes because at the end of the day killing to me is killing. No matter how it happens. Yes we are losing soldiers and so are they. Why are we fighting like uneducated baboons? Why can't we use our words. & Honestly, his family would be fine. My family is fine, my neighbors, the guy three towns over. What danger are we really in? If we were really that much in danger we would know a whole lot more about the war we are fighting. You may think its sad that I don't support it, but I think it's sad so many people support it because its the "Right thing to do" without really sitting down and thinking about it in your own light and terms. I am not like oh fuck you cause you are in the army no, I have friends in service and that are deployed they know my feelings and I know theirs. I hope I explained that so I don't look like a dumbass.

I've also noticed that this seems kind of selective. A lot of people are claiming that this does happen, and a lot of you are saying it doesn't. I'm not sure what the cause is. 

Also, I'm aware that regular reblogs don't have tags. Tumblr normally removes tags on reblogs for some reason. I was stating this this new 'feature' removes the source in addition to the tags. That's all.

Anyway, Do what you want. I'm just trying to do this to keep people's content their own, because there's been a fair amount of problems with that lately.
