And, finally, prompt 7: yuzhi was kidnapped and drugged by a rival gang; yuelou has to save him then deal with his high ass and that bs (the drugs should be either like a truth serum or a hallucinogen, something that would have him either tripping balls or being overly honest)
HOT FUCKING DAMN, I APOLOGIZE THAT THIS TOOK ME SO DAMN LONG! I KNOW IT'S BEEN SITTING IN MY ASKBOX FOR PROBABLY OVER A MONTH (OR MORE) BUT I FINALLY GOT AROUND TO WRITING IT! I REALLY HOPE YOU LIKE IT AND THANK YOU SO MUCH AGAIN FOR SENDING ME ALL THE LOVELY MAFIA PROMPTS, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED WRITING THEM!
Jiang Yuelou’s day could literally not get any worse. First, he had a raid that went absolutely shit; more of his men got hurt than the men of the triad he was fighting against and second, when he returned from said raid, he was told by one of his men that the doctor that he was seeing, Dr. Chen Yuzhi, had been kidnapped. When he was told that, he nearly lost his shit. “Why was nobody WATCHING HIM?!” he roared, glaring at his men who cowered before him. One of his men, Sun Yongren, looked at him nervously. “Boss…you know how Dr. Chen feels about having us hang around his clinic” he murmured as another one of Jiang Yuelou’s men, Song Rong, nodded. “Yeah, he says he feels like—” he continued. “We scare away his patients, I know, I know” Jiang Yuelou growled, interrupting him. He then took a deep breath before he looked at his men. “So, none of you were around his clinic? At all?” he asked. The men shook their heads. “Because Dr. Chen knows what we look like, even in plain clothes, he’ll still tell us to go away because he doesn’t need our protection” Song Rong explained. Jiang Yuelou let out a low growl and pinched the bridge of his nose. “Damn it, Yuzhi” he murmured. He was proud that Chen Yuzhi could recognize his men and go to them if there was anything he ever needed (because Jiang Yuelou specifically told him that they were at his disposal) but he was also irritated that he would blow them off when Jiang Yuelou specifically put them there for protection. He then looked at his men again. “So no one saw anything? Nothing at all?” he demanded. The men shook their heads again before Sun Yongren stepped forward. “I can go ask some of the food stall owners if they saw anything” he offered as Song Rong stepped forward as well. “I can ask some of the street urchins if they saw something” he added. Jiang Yuelou waved his hand. “Go. See if they know anything” he ordered, Song Rong and Sun Yongren moving as soon as Jiang Yuelou gave the “go ahead”. Jiang Yuelou then looked at the rest of his men. “I want you to search Jing City up and down. Search every back alley, every abandoned building, everywhere. I want Chen Yuzhi found” he snarled. The men nodded before they ran out of the hideout, leaving Jiang Yuelou alone. He then took a deep breath before he sighed. “Guess I should go see a person too” he murmured, grabbing his leather jacket before he headed out.

Meanwhile, in an abandoned cabin out in the middle of bumbfuck nowhere, Chen Yuzhi was tied to a wooden chair with a bag over his head. The bag was then removed, causing Chen Yuzhi to squint at the sudden sunlight that was streaming into the cabin before he looked around, realizing where he was at. “What the hell?” he murmured. “Ah, Dr. Chen you’re awake. Good, good” a voice purred, making Chen Yuzhi look up to see a man stepping out of the shadows from the corner of the room. Chen Yuzhi frowned at him; he didn’t recognize the man and frankly had no idea who he was. “Who are you? What am I doing here?” he demanded. The man laughed. “Why else would you be here? You’re bait” he explained. Chen Yuzhi frowned. “Bait?” he repeated, only to have the man slap him across the face. “For someone so smart, you’re so stupid, Dr. Chen” the man hissed as Chen Yuzhi squeezed his eyes shut in pain. The man then huffed. “You’re Jiang Yuelou’s lover, are you not?” he asked. Chen Yuzhi paused before he looked up at the man. “I—” he started when the man laughed. “You don’t have to say anything, Dr. Chen, I already know! I’ve been watching you for a while and you are very much so in love with Jiang Yuelou” he declared. Chen Yuzhi blushed as the man cackled. “Which is perfect for me, and do you know why?” he purred as he looked at Chen Yuzhi, who was now frowning at him. “Why?” he asked. The man cackled again. “Because you, my beloved little doctor, are going to be the one to kill Jiang Yuelou” he declared. Chen Yuzhi’s eyes and before he could say anything, the man suddenly surged forward and gagged him before throwing the bag back over his head. Chen Yuzhi’s eyes widened at the sudden darkness before flinching as the man patted his shoulder, his fingers digging into it with a vice-like grip. “All in good time, little doctor. We just have to wait for Jiang Yuelou to find you…then the real fun can begin” he purred.

While Song Rong, Sun Yongren, and the rest of Jiang Yuelou’s men were off searching for witnesses to Chen Yuzhi’s kidnapping, Jiang Yuelou headed to an old friend of his, one of the most powerful triad leaders in Jing City, Zhan Junbai. When he walked over the man’s mansion, he walked over to the door and knocked, a servant soon answering the door. “Master Jiang. What can I do for you?” the servant, Qiu Ming, greeted. “I’m here to see Executive Zhan” Jiang Yuelou answered. Qiu Ming nodded and stepped aside as he motioned inside. “Come in” he instructed. Jiang Yuelou dipped his head and stepped inside as Qiu Ming shut the doors behind him. “I’ll get the Executive” he declared, walking past Zhan Junbai to go find his boss. Jiang Yuelou said nothing as he crossed his arms and tapped his foot, impatiently waiting for Zhan Junbai. “Jiang-xiong” a voice called out, making Jiang Yuelou look up to see a tall man with light skin, brown eyes, and short black hair dressed in a maroon three-piece suit walking down the stairs. “Zhan-xiong” he replied as the man, Zhan Junbai, walked over to him and smirked. “It’s rare for you to visit me…you normally don’t come to me unless you want something” he mused. Jiang Yuelou snarled. “I don’t really have time for your games today, Zhan-xiong” he hissed. Zhan Junbai raised an eyebrow. “Oh? Somebody’s a little angry today. What happened? Raid go badly? I told you not to mess with the Leun Fei Ying” he stated. Jiang Yuelou glared at him. “Cut the crap” he spat. Zhan Junbai’s playfulness fell away immediately, and a frown entered his face; Jiang Yuelou normally put up with his teasing for a little bit before he got angry but today…today something was off. “What happened?” he asked. Jiang Yuelou gritted his teeth and clenched his hands into fists as he looked at him. “Yuzhi was taken” he growled. Zhan Junbai looked at him in surprise. “Your doctor? The one you’ve been seeing?” he asked. Jiang Yuelou glared. “Who else?” he hissed. Zhan Junbai raised his hands in apology. “Sorry, sorry” he apologized before he frowned. “Taken? What do you mean, taken? Don’t you have people watching him? It’s you” he stated. Jiang Yuelou sighed heavily. “I would, except Yuzhi doesn’t like having people surrounding his clinic, even if it’s for protection, because he’s afraid they’re going to scare away his patients as most of his patients are either women, children, or the elderly” he explained. Zhan Junbai nodded slowly. “I see” he murmured as he crossed his arms. “So why come see me?” he asked, raising an eyebrow. Jiang Yuelou sighed. “You have eyes and ears all over this city…maybe you would know someone who took Chen Yuzhi” he explained. Zhan Junbai tsked. “Unfortunately, Jiang-xiong, while I do have the numbers…I wouldn’t know who to ask” he explained. Jiang Yuelou looked at him before he pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to calm himself down from completely losing his shit. “Now now, no need to lose your head, I’m not saying I won’t help you” Zhan Junbai chided as a small smile graced his face. Jiang Yuelou lowered his hand from his nose and looked at him in confusion. “What are you saying?” he asked. Zhan Junbai chuckled. “Well, let’s think about this…what triad leader hates your guts more than anything and would like to see you suffer as much as possible?” he asked. Jiang Yuelou was quiet before he snarled. “Feng Cai” he spat. Zhan Junbai smirked and motioned to him. “And there you go. He’s probably the one who took your precious little doctor” he mused. Jiang Yuelou narrowed his eyes. “Watch your mouth” he growled. Zhan Junbai laughed. “Alright, alright, no need to get snippy” he soothed. Jiang Yuelou then sighed. “Do you have any idea where he might have taken Yuzhi?” he asked, looking at the taller man. Zhan Junbai hummed before he shook his head. “That I don’t think I can help you with. But maybe when you return, your men will have found something” he mused. Jiang Yuelou nodded. “Maybe…” he murmured before he looked at Zhan Junbai. “Thank you, Zhan-xiong” he thanked. Zhan Junbai smiled. “Anytime” he replied. Jiang Yuelou then turned and headed towards the door as Zhan Junbai smiled. “You should bring him over some time” he called out, making Jiang Yuelou stop and turn back towards him. “What?” he asked. Zhan Junbai smiled. “I want to meet this doctor and see why you love him so much” he explained. Jiang Yuelou tsked and rolled his eyes. “Not on your life” he replied, a small smile on his face as he turned back and continued towards the entrance, Zhan Junbai laughing softly to himself.

When Jiang Yuelou returned to his own hideout, Sun Yongren and Song Rong were waiting for him. “Well? Did you find anything?” Jiang Yuelou demanded. Song Rong nodded. “One of the children said that there were two men who came into Dr. Chen’s clinic and dragged him out when the streets were the most crowded, so no one noticed anything out of the ordinary” he explained. Jiang Yuelou frowned. “Yuzhi didn’t make any noise? He didn’t call for help or anything?” he asked. Sun Yongren frowned. “One of the shop owners thought they might have seen a glint of a gun pointed at the doctor’s back, but they’re not sure” he answered. Jiang Yuelou growled. “That would make sense…they would threaten him with a gun to keep silent…” he murmured. Sun Yongren and Song Rong then looked at him. “Did you figure anything out, Boss?” Song Rong asked. Jiang Yuelou nodded. “Feng Cai is the one who kidnapped Yuzhi” he declared. Sun Yongren and Song Rong’s eyes widened. “Feng Cai?! That fucking bastard” Sun Yongren snarled as Song Rong looked at Jiang Yuelou. “What are we going to do, Boss?” he asked. Jiang Yuelou huffed. “Find Yuzhi, of course” he replied before he looked at Song Rong. “Did the children see the men lead Yuzhi to a car or anything?” he asked. Song Rong hummed, thinking about it before he nodded. “I think so” he replied as Sun Yongren nodded. “One of the shop owners definitely saw him get into a black car” he stated. Jiang Yuelou nodded. “Okay, so he got into a car…did they see where the car went?” he asked. “It went out of town” a voice called out, making Jiang Yuelou, Song Rong, and Sun Yongren turn to see a tall man with light skin, brown eyes, and long wavy black hair walking towards them. “Chief Jin” Jiang Yuelou greeted, raising an eyebrow in surprise. The man, Jin Dacheng, smirked and dipped his head. “Boss Jiang” he replied. Song Rong then frowned. “What are you doing here?” he demanded. Jin Dacheng shrugged. “Well, I was there when Dr. Chen got kidnapped. I watched it happen” he explained. Jiang Yuelou’s eyes widened as he stormed over to Jin Dacheng and grabbed him by the front of his uniform. “You watched Yuzhi get kidnapped AND DID NOTHING TO STOP IT?!” he roared. Jin Dacheng huffed and looked down at Jiang Yuelou. “How could I? The man had a gun to your doctor’s back and the street was crowded. Either way, someone would get hurt, probably your doctor” he stated. Jiang Yuelou growled as he glared at Jin Dacheng before giving him a shove, causing him to stumble backwards. “If you have nothing else to say, leave” he ordered. Jin Dacheng gave him a look. “You really think I came all this way just to tell you that I saw him get taken? Honestly, Boss Jiang, how stupid do you think I am?” he asked. Jiang Yuelou gave him a look in return. “Do you really want me to answer that?” he replied. Jin Dacheng glared at him before he sighed. “I followed the car” he declared. Jiang Yuelou, Song Rong, and Sun Yongren all looked at him with wide eyes. “You what?” Sun Yongren exclaimed. Jin Dacheng nodded. “I followed the car out of the city. They drove out into the middle of nowhere to a little abandoned and rundown cabin. I’m sure Dr. Chen’s being held there” he explained. Jiang Yuelou looked at him before he narrowed his eyes. “How do I know I can trust you? You’re a cop” he snarled. Jin Dacheng sighed exasperatedly. “And I’m your best bet to find Dr. Chen. Take it or leave it” he stated. Jiang Yuelou looked at him before he sighed heavily. “Fine. Will you take me to find Yuzhi?” he asked. Jin Dacheng smiled. “I’d be happy to. Car’s this way” he stated, motioning for Jiang Yuelou to follow him. Jiang Yuelou looked over his shoulder at Song Rong and Sun Yongren, both of whom were looking at him concerned, before he sighed and followed after Jin Dacheng, both men heading out of Jiang Yuelou’s hideout.
~*~*~*~*~*~
Jiang Yuelou and Jin Dacheng then got into Jin Dacheng’s car and drove away from Jiang Yuelou’s hideout, Jiang Yuelou checking his gun to make sure that it was fully loaded. “Are you going to need backup, Boss Jiang?” Jin Dacheng asked, glancing over at him. Jiang Yuelou looked back at him before he shook his head. “No…I don’t think so. I don’t know what Feng Cai might do to Yuzhi if I don’t come alone” he murmured. Jin Dacheng hummed, eyes on the road before he looked back at Jiang Yuelou. “You really love this doctor, don’t you?” he asked. Jiang Yuelou’s eyes widened as he looked at Jin Dacheng. “What the hell makes you say that?” he asked. Jin Dacheng laughed. “Boss Jiang, we’ve been rivals for a while now, haven’t we?” he replied. Jiang Yuelou frowned. “I guess so” he replied. Jin Dacheng smiled. “And in all my years of knowing you, I’ve never seen you this worried for a person, not even for your own men. This doctor is something special to you, isn’t he?” he asked. Jiang Yuelou huffed. “None of your business” he grumbled. Jin Dacheng smiled and nodded. “Okay, okay. I won’t press” he assured before he hummed. “I think it’s a good thing” he mused. Jiang Yuelou looked over at him. “What is?” he asked. Jin Dacheng smiled. “That you found someone outside your…line of work, so to say. I’m sure he brightens up your dark and depressing life, right? That days seem just a little bit brighter at the thought of him?” he asked. Jiang Yuelou blinked before he huffed and looked away. “Fuck off” he murmured. Jin Dacheng chuckled but said nothing as he continued to drive through the countryside until they came upon the abandoned cabin. “You said Yuzhi was in here?” Jiang Yuelou asked, looking over at Jin Dacheng. Jin Dacheng nodded. “It’s the only one for miles…where else could he be?” he replied. Jiang Yuelou was quiet, causing Jin Dacheng to tsk before smacking him on the back of the head, making Jiang Yuelou look over at him with wide eyes. “Don’t go there, Boss Jiang. If he was already dead, you would have either received or found his body. You haven’t found nor received his body, right?” he asked. Jiang Yuelou nodded slowly. “Then I’m sure he’s fine. What Feng Cai really wants is you, not Dr. Chen. So he’s probably still alive and is probably in that cabin” Jin Dacheng declared. Jiang Yuelou looked at him before he huffed. “Stay here. Don’t come out unless you here a gunshot” he instructed. Jin Dacheng nodded as Jiang Yuelou got out of the car, gun in hand, and headed towards the cabin.
~*~*~*~*~*~
When Jiang Yuelou entered the cabin, he found it to be empty save for a person bound with ropes to a chair and a bag over their head. “Yuzhi” he breathed, quickly placing his gun in the back of his pants before running over to the person and kneeling down before them. He then reached out and yanked the bag off their head, revealing a gagged Chen Yuzhi, who flinched at the sudden sunlight. “Chen Yuzhi” Jiang Yuelou breathed, Chen Yuzhi’s eyes widening when he realized who was kneeling before him. Jiang Yuelou smiled before he reached up and unbound the gag from around his mouth, cupping his face in his hands. “Yuzhi. Yuzhi, are you alright?” he demanded. Chen Yuzhi looked at him with teary eyes and he shook his head. “Jiang Yuelou, you need to leave. Now” he ordered. Jiang Yuelou shook his head. “No. No, I’m not leaving without you” he growled as tears came to Chen Yuzhi’s eyes. “Jiang Yuelou, please. Go” he pleaded. Jiang Yuelou frowned, just a shadow stepped behind Chen Yuzhi and stabbed him in the neck with a needle, making Chen Yuzhi cry out in pain. Jiang Yuelou’s eyes widened and he looked up to see Feng Cai smiling darkly at him. “Feng Cai” he snarled. Feng Cai laughed. “Jiang Yuelou. Welcome to your own funeral” he purred as Jiang Yuelou looked at Chen Yuzhi, whose face was contorted in pain as he struggled against the ropes. “What did you give him?” he demanded. Feng Cai shrugged. “Just a little concoction of mine…you know how I like to dabble” he replied, just as Chen Yuzhi’s eyes flew open and he glared at Jiang Yuelou, who looked back at him with wide eyes. “Yuzhi…” Jiang Yuelou started as Feng Cui sliced the bonds keeping Chen Yuzhi hostage before holding out the knife to Chen Yuzhi. “Here you go, little doctor. Kill him” he hissed. Chen Yuzhi then took the knife as he continued to look at Jiang Yuelou, who was looking at him with wide eyes. “Yuzhi—” he started when Chen Yuzhi launched himself at Jiang Yuelou, Jiang Yuelou diving out of the way as Chen Yuzhi stabbed the nearby windowsill. Jiang Yuelou then looked at him with fear in his eyes. “Chen Yuzhi, snap out of it!” he exclaimed but Chen Yuzhi just yanked the knife out of the wood and launched himself at Jiang Yuelou again, this time getting lucky in slashing the man’s arm. Jiang Yuelou let out a cry as Feng Cai cackled. “He can’t snap out of it, Jiang Yuelou! Not without the antidote!” he exclaimed. Jiang Yuelou looked over at him for a brief moment, just as Chen Yuzhi attacked him again, causing him to roll out of the way so he didn’t get stabbed or sliced again. “And do you have the antidote?” Jiang Yuelou demanded. Feng Cai cackled again. “Of course I do! But…you’re never going to find it” he stated, just as Chen Yuzhi, in his crazed state, tackled Jiang Yuelou and pinned him to the ground, knife raised to strike. “Because you’ll be dead!” Feng Cai shrieked. Jiang Yuelou barred his teeth at him before he looked up at Chen Yuzhi, who was bringing down the knife to strike him. “I’m sorry, Yuzhi” he whispered before he whacked Chen Yuzhi in the head, causing the young doctor to lose his balance and crash to the floor, the knife clattering out of his hand. Jiang Yuelou then reached behind him and pulled his gun out of his belt, pointing it at Feng Cai, whose eyes were wide in shock, before shifting his gun and firing it at the ceiling. Feng Cai blinked in surprise before he barked out a laugh. “I didn’t know you were such a shit shot, Boss Jiang” he sneered. Jiang Yuelou smiled. “I wasn’t aiming for you” he replied. Feng Cai frowned, just as Jin Dacheng arrived at the entrance of the cabin, pointing his gun at Feng Cai. “Don’t you fucking move” he snarled. Feng Cai’s eyes widened and he glared at Jiang Yuelou before he smirked at Jin Dacheng and suddenly bolted, making a run for the nearby boarded up window. “I said don’t move!” Jin Dacheng shouted, firing his gun at Feng Cai, but Feng Cai was bursting through the window, so the bullet whizzed right past him. “Son of a bitch” Jin Dacheng growled, about to take off after him when he paused and looked back at Jiang Yuelou. “Are you—” he started. “Catch that son of a bitch. I’ll be fine” Jiang Yuelou replied. Jin Dacheng nodded before he took off running after Feng Cai, leaving Jiang Yuelou and Chen Yuzhi alone in the cabin. Jiang Yuelou then looked at Chen Yuzhi, who was lying still on the floor, and frowned. “Yuzhi?” he called out, pushing himself to his feet before walking over to the young man, kneeling down before him. “Yuzhi?” he called again, reaching out to touch when Chen Yuzhi’s eyes suddenly shot open and he launched himself at Jiang Yuelou, his hand around Jiang Yuelou’s neck. He then tackled Jiang Yuelou to the ground, pinning him down before sending a good solid punch to his face, making Jiang Yuelou grunt before he covered his face so that Chen Yuzhi couldn’t hit him again. “Yuzhi! Snap out of it! I don’t want to hurt you!” he exclaimed. However, Chen Yuzhi just ignored him and went to punch him again, causing Jiang Yuelou to groan before he lashed out, hitting Chen Yuzhi square in the chest, making him go flying backwards. Jiang Yuelou then pushed himself to his feet, Chen Yuzhi doing the same. Both men looked at one another before Chen Yuzhi rushed forward and began throwing punches, causing Jiang Yuelou to quickly block them. Despite Chen Yuzhi not being a fighter like Jiang Yuelou, he was certainly doing a good job kicking Jiang Yuelou’s ass. They continued to fight each other, Chen Yuzhi mainly doing the attacking while Jiang Yuelou blocked and dodged, before Jiang Yuelou saw and opening and quickly chopped Chen Yuzhi on the neck, knocking him unconscious. Chen Yuzhi’s eyes fluttered and Jiang Yuelou quickly caught him, pulling the young doctor close. He then checked him over, making sure he wasn’t hurt, before he carried Chen Yuzhi over to the chair he had previously been tied up in and carefully set him down, tying him up once again just so that neither of them got hurt. Jiang Yuelou then began searching the cabin, looking for the antidote that Feng Cai was talking about. He searched the entire cabin, but couldn’t find anything, making him let out a growl. “Bastard must have had it on him” he snarled, just as the floorboards creaked, making him look up to see Jin Dacheng stepping into the cabin. “Where’s Feng Cai?” Jiang Yuelou asked. Jin Dacheng smiled. “Dead. Just like you would have wanted; bullet between the eyes” he replied. Jiang Yuelou smirked before he frowned. “Did you search the body? Did you find anything on him? Like a vial?” he asked. Jin Dacheng frowned before he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small vial. “Something like this?” he replied. Jiang Yuelou’s eyes widened. “Yes, that!” he exclaimed before he let out a sigh of relief and pointed at the vial. “Hold onto that…we’re going to need it when we take Yuzhi to the hospital” he declared. Jin Dacheng nodded and stuck the vial back into his pocket as Jiang Yuelou walked over to an unconscious Chen Yuzhi and untied him, carefully scooping him into his arms before he looked at Jin Dacheng. “Let’s go” he ordered. Jin Dacheng nodded and stepped out of the cabin, heading back to the car as Jiang Yuelou followed after him, carrying Chen Yuzhi in his arms, the unconscious doctor’s head leaning against his chest. When they reached the car, Jin Dacheng opened the backseat, allowing Jiang Yuelou to place Chen Yuzhi carefully inside before sliding in after him. Jin Dacheng then shut the door before getting into the driver’s seat, turning on the car before heading back to Jing City. As he drove back, he looked in the rearview mirror at Jiang Yuelou and how he was holding Chen Yuzhi to him, pressing a kiss to the unconscious doctor’s hair. He then smiled slightly before he turned his attention back to the road, stepping on the gas so that they could get to the hospital in time before Chen Yuzhi woke up.
~*~*~*~*~*~
When Chen Yuzhi woke up hours later, he found himself in a hospital bed with an IV in his arm and Jiang Yuelou fast asleep in the chair beside his bed. He blinked a couple of times, just to make sure he wasn’t seeing things, before he hesitantly reached out and touched Jiang Yuelou’s knee. “J-Jiang Yuelou?” he whispered. Jiang Yuelou’s eyes snapped open in an instant the minute he heard his name and when he saw Chen Yuzhi looking at him with his big, clear, doe eyes, he couldn’t help but smile. “Yuzhi” he breathed, reaching out to cup the young man’s face. Chen Yuzhi leaned into Jiang Yuelou’s touch as Jiang Yuelou gently stroked his cheek. “How you feelin’?” he asked. Chen Yuzhi shook his head, only to hiss. “My head feels fuzzy…” he replied before he looked at Jiang Yuelou and realized that the man’s face was bruised and that his arm was slashed. “Jiang Yuelou, what happened?! Who did this to you?!” he exclaimed, looking up at Jiang Yuelou with wide eyes. Jiang Yuelou looked back at him before he looked away, causing Chen Yuzhi to frown. “Jiang Yuelou…what happened? Who hurt you?” he begged. Jiang Yuelou still said nothing before he sighed. “What do you remember?” he asked, finally looking back at him. Chen Yuzhi frowned. “What do I remember? The last thing I remember is begging you to leave and then a sudden pain in my neck…after that I can’t remember anything” he replied. Jiang Yuelou sighed as he removed his hand from Chen Yuzhi’s face and took his hand instead. “Yuzhi…you did this to me” he murmured. Chen Yuzhi’s eyes widened in horror. “What?! No, Yuelou, I would never—” he started when Jiang Yuelou shook his head. “You didn’t do it on purpose. The man who kidnapped you, Feng Cai, drugged you and caused you to try and kill me” he explained, gently stroking the back of Chen Yuzhi’s hand with his thumb. Chen Yuzhi looked at him, his eyes beginning to fill with tears before he let out a shuddering breath. “I’m sorry” he whispered. Jiang Yuelou’s eyes widened and he quickly stood up, causing Chen Yuzhi’s eyes to widen but instead of leaving, like Chen Yuzhi thought he would, Jiang Yuelou carefully sat him before sitting down where he had previously been laying, placing him down so that he was lying against Jiang Yuelou’s strong chest. Chen Yuzhi blinked in surprise as Jiang Yuelou wrapped his arms around him, holding him close. “Baby, you have nothing to apologize for. You did nothing wrong” he soothed. Chen Yuzhi blinked, feelings tears well up in his eyes again, before he shook his head. “But I…I hurt you. Jiang Yuelou, I hurt you” he whimpered. Jiang Yuelou just smiled and leaned down, pressing a kiss to his forehead. “Shhh, Yuzhi. I’ll heal” he soothed as he leaned back, grinning almost cheshirely. “Besides, since I’m hurt, it gives me more of an excuse to come see you” he declared. Chen Yuzhi huffed and shook his head, smiling softly. “Of course you would use your injuries as an excuse to come see me” he murmured. Jiang Yuelou raised an eyebrow as he gave him a squeeze. “What, does Dr. Chen not welcome me?” he teased. Chen Yuzhi blushed before he shook his head and looked up at Jiang Yuelou, smiling fondly. “No…Boss Jiang is always welcome” he replied. Jiang Yuelou smiled fondly in return as he leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to Chen Yuzhi’s lips, Chen Yuzhi smiling into the kiss. When they pulled away, both men were looking at each other lovingly before Jiang Yuelou reached up and began running his fingers through Chen Yuzhi’s hair. “Get some sleep, my love” he whispered. Chen Yuzhi nodded and settled against Jiang Yuelou, relaxing immediately, knowing that he would be safe in the triad leader’s arms. Jiang Yuelou chuckled fondly and continued to run his fingers through Chen Yuzhi’s hair, watching the young doctor sleep with a soft, fond smile on his lips. He could never be mad at Chen Yuzhi for hurting him, it wasn’t even his fault. He was under the control of Feng Cai’s drug, so he wouldn’t hold that against him. And like he said, because he was hurt, it would give him even more reason to visit the doctor than before. So, in the end, it was a win-win.
~*~*~*~*~*~
A few days later, after Chen Yuzhi was released from the hospital, he was in his clinic, changing the bandage on Jiang Yuelou’s knife wound when a tall man with light skin, brown eyes, and short black hair dressed in a maroon three-piece suit walked in. “So this is the famous Dr. Chen Yuzhi I’ve been hearing so much about” he mused as he walked over to Jiang Yuelou and Chen Yuzhi. Jiang Yuelou made a face while Chen Yuzhi looked at Zhan Junbai with a raised eyebrow. “And you are?” he asked. Zhan Junbai smiled. “A friend of Jiang Yuelou’s. Executive Zhan Junbai” he introduced. Chen Yuzhi smiled. “Nice to meet you” he replied before he turned his attention back to Jiang Yuelou’s knife wound while Jiang Yuelou glared daggers at Zhan Junbai. “Zhan-xiong, what are you doing here?” he hissed. Zhan Junbai chuckled. “I told you didn’t I? I said I wanted to meet the doctor and see why you love him so much” he replied. Chen Yuzhi’s eyes widened slightly and a blush came to his cheeks as he continued to clean and change Jiang Yuelou’s bandage while Jiang Yuelou glared, embarrassed. “Zhan-xiong!” he exclaimed. Zhan Junbai tsked. “What do you have to be embarrassed for?” he asked before he motioned to Chen Yuzhi. “He is the best thing that’s ever happened to you. And I would know! We practically grew up together” he declared before he pointed a finger at Jiang Yuelou. “Don’t fuck this up” he warned. He then looked at Chen Yuzhi, who was looking at him with wide eyes, and smiled. “It was wonderful to meet you, Dr. Chen. Maybe you can come over for tea sometime” he suggested. Chen Yuzhi blinked before he smiled slightly and nodded. “Sure” he replied. Zhan Junbai smiled. “Wonderful” he agreed as he shot Jiang Yuelou one final look. “Don’t fuck this up” he hissed before he turned and walked out of Chen Yuzhi’s clinic. Chen Yuzhi and Jiang Yuelou watched him leave before Jiang Yuelou sighed and looked over at Chen Yuzhi. “Sorry about that” he apologized. Chen Yuzhi smiled and shook his head. “It’s alright. He seems nice” he mused. Jiang Yuelou laughed softly. “He’s one of the most dangerous men in Jing City…I don’t really think “nice” is in his description, Yuzhi” he replied. Chen Yuzhi shrugged. “He seems nice to me. And he cares about you” he stated as he finished changing the bandage. Jiang Yuelou hummed. “For the longest time, before Song Rong and Sun Yongren came along, Zhan Junbai really was my only friend. He took me in, showed me the ropes, and helped me become the man I am today” he explained. Chen Yuzhi looked at him before he hummed. “Well then, whenever I go to have tea with him, I’ll make sure to thank him” he declared. Jiang Yuelou looked up and him and raised an eyebrow. “For what?” he asked. Chen Yuzhi smiled as he leaned forward, pressing a kiss to his hair. “For helping you become the man I love today” he replied. Jiang Yuelou looked at him with wide eyes before he smiled and pulled him in for a hug, holding him tightly. Chen Yuzhi smiled and melted into the hug, resting his chin on Jiang Yuelou’s shoulder as he let out a content sigh. Jiang Yuelou smiled even wider as he reached up and pet Chen Yuzhi’s hair, loving the way the soft strands ran through his fingers. Zhan Junbai was right, Chen Yuzhi was probably the best thing that ever happened him and he definitely wasn’t going to fuck it up and lose him. He almost lost him once…he wasn’t losing him again.
