Pikmin 4 au where instead of landing near the S.S. Shepard you land near wherever Leafling Olimar hangs out and instead of developing your fun little found family with your crewmates you're out in the wilderness reenacting Survivor with every castaway you pick up and this Leafling guy who wakes you up everyday at 4 am like "Wake up kid it's Dandori or Death" and keeps trying to convince you and everyone you rescue to embrace the leaves

#I hc that red pikmin have tiny little spines‚ like glochids#and that’s why they do more damage#also I tried making the white and purple ones be more root veggie like since they live in the caves#yes that is a root tail. it helps white pikmin with digging#purple also have the tail because again. root like. mayhaps it contributes to their damage too#yellow is just a creature#blue is self explanatory. made it look aquatic with the flower looking lotus like and having sorta? amphibian lookin features?#because you know. they can be in both land and water#I wanted the flowers to all look different but also make them all have 5 petals#to have that be one of the things all pikmin share#also I made purples have umbels because haha get it carrot#idk man I’m just messing around and looking things up I’m not a biology expert#oh wait yeah I made yellow a bit shorter and made the eyes round to kinda match with white?? idk why it’s just cute ig#and Yes I know yellows are the best at digging right now but I like p2 white pikmin lore ok? ok 👍#pikmin#pikmin game

Got 3 more tattoos the other day, I'll post them when they've had touchups and have healed again but this time I got the paw print of my doggie that died recently, some soot sprites and the blue spirit mask and white lotus tile
#my arm was bleeding like mad?? both me and my tattoo artist were confused because all other tattoos were fine#but that does mean she couldn't see which parts she'd properly shaded anymore so touchups will happen#anyways now Ive got my own big 3 fandoms on me#atla merlin and loki being the things that have kept me alive for over a decade#soot sprites is more recent but still very fitting (thinking of the ghibli theme where you always leave something behind and cant go back)#now Ive got one more planned with the flowers we reveived when my dad died and I want to add pikmin to that because both me and my dad#played that (my brother too)#but drawing those flowers is still to hard so it'll have to wait#I also kinda want a yugioh tattoo and a moth and maybe some more original art#(and an arcane tattoo but forcing myself to wait a year before I put new fandoms on my body)

#I feel like not a lot of people outside of the pikship server is going to understand this oc so I’m gonna explain her in the tags#so Saph here is half kyoan#kyoans are based on the concept of (cont cause character limit)#what if a leafling’s four eyes were naturally occurring in a starfolk species#most have two eyes anyways so four eyes are more like a rare desired genetic trait#their other traits include having red slitted eyes that glow like pnf-404 creatures at night(cont)#being roughly twice the height of the average starfolk which is why Saph is so huge compared to most of the characters in the collab(cont)#their tolerance to oxygen is greater than even that of a Koppaite’s#they can handle about half the amount of oxygen of PNF-404’s atmosphere(cont)#and they’re strict carnivores#about the strict carnivore part they developed a hunger for starfolk flesh and blood over time#so they had a history of terrorizing other planets until a group overthrew their government and made starfolk hunting illegal#Saph is among those who’s against starfolk hunting#their one weakness is that they will burn in sunlight#their home planet Kyo revolves around a red star and they built their settlements underground to survive the planet’s aggressive wildlife#so they developed a low sunlight tolerance because of that#pikmin#pikmin oc

i just did so many dishes and it was so fun peace and love on planet earth YIPPEE!!!!!!

I gotta wonder, for how many massive crossovers (Smash, Marvel vs. Capcom, Multiversus) there are to help get fans of one franchise to get interested into another one, how many fans were driven away further from an unfamiliar franchise.
Say what you want about Fire Emblem having too many swordfighters even though there's plenty of classes to pick from in that franchise, but how many players out there who haven't played Pikmin never will because Olimar's awful design screams "unemotive tyrant of plant aliens" and not "working class science hero and alien race helping each other survive the wild"?

I really think we need to make it illegal for people to say "the game is too easy" in a videogame review/critique
#was watching a video reviewing all the pikmin games#stopped taking this guy seriously when he critiziced pikmin 3 for being quote 'too god shit baby easy'#and then i stopped watching when he used dark souls as a comparison lol#like bruh if you're going to criticize an aspect of a game by comparing it to other at least use a game that's on the same genre#or demographic. you cannot compare a children's strategy game to DARK SOULS#also the reason why pikmin 3 (and to a certain extent 4) feel easy is because he's already played the previous games#which are much harder. so he is already familiar with how the games and mechanics work#but like. the thing is. pikmin 3 came out MORE THAN A DECADE after the first two#so it's target demographic was newer and younger players. who wouldn't be familiar with the game or it's mechanics#so for them it would be harder. because adapting to the style of gameplay is objectively hard#HE ACKNOWLEDGED THIS IN THE FUCKING VIDEO TOO#also the reason why the first two games are so hard to begin with is because it was the early 2000 and the ai and mechanics#just couldn't be as refined as they wanted to#honestly every pikming game is easy once you get the hang of it and it's engine#like when playing the first game i got to a point where the hardest area didn't even seem that hard because i was familiar with the layout#and knew the best strategies to deal with the hazards in them#like they could've criticized stuff like how short the main campaign is. how its too linear compared to the rest of the series#or if they want to talk about difficulty they could talk about how unbalanced rock and winged pikmin are#to the point that they make every other type unnecessary#sorry for the long tags. i just hate when people use 'it's too easy' as a legitimate arguing point

I was so excited to play Pikmin 4 until I realized that the local co-op is just like in Mario Galaxy where the second player can throw stuff and just sits around watching the first player play 90% of the time… I thought it would be like Pikmin 3 Deluxe with a 2 characters split-screen!! I wanted to play with my sibling!! And yeah, I could just get Pikmin 3 Deluxe instead but I can't because I don't have infinite space on my Switch!!! (And I'd much rather have a physical copy anyway)
