And the way they did all that Buddie interaction in s7 which is the season they’re supposed to use to introduce these characters to a new audience? Like… all they did was fully and whole heartedly establish the Buckley-Diaz family dynamic and Buddie as a duo. FOR THE NEW AUDIENCE

LITERALLY. And the alleged love interest that came to break them up forever had exactly 57 seconds of screentime that was about the relationship after they finished using him to establish Buck as bi and make Buck come out. They couldn't even round it up to a full minute. In an episode that had Buck and Eddie being Partners. Come on. They established an endgame relationship for Buck this season, that's for sure, but it's not the one they are thinking.

This has been in my drafts for a while and I’m seeing the NBC 2008 UB medal ceremony going around again, so I might as well post this now that I’ve finished editing this with more HQ screenshots.

Here’s a documentary with footage from 2003 where you can see hopefuls for the 2008 Olympics training. Deng Linlin is shown training on the uneven bars @ 0:52. Jiang Yuyuan is shown stating her name and age @ 1:21. They totally thought to lie about their ages back in 2003!

Deng Linlin also had this same “baby tooth” four years later in 2012. She was totally 8 in Beijing and 12 in London then!

Anyways, it turns out it wasn’t a baby tooth, but was actually a really crooked tooth. She got it fixed with braces after retiring.

Also you can’t expect to win with 2 falls and 3 oobs :)

China beat the US in quals, sooo.... Plus they had a 2.1 point difficulty advantage. The US would have needed China to make multiple major mistakes and hit perfectly themselves, but the only mistake China had was Cheng Fei’s fall on beam (-0.8) and the US had 2 falls and 3 oobs (-1.9).

Chellsie and Sam both could have contributed on beam and floor, but their d-scores were around the same as Asac, so it wouldn’t have made enough of a difference to catch up with the Chinese. Plus, Jiang Yuyuan was also injured, so she couldn’t land her amanar in Beijing. What ifs are stupid, but you could say that if she wasn’t injured, she could have landed the amanar and that would have added around 7 tenths to China’s total.

In general, scoring was very high this quad. E-scores in the 9s were handed out like candy. And d-scores were so large with 10 skills counted that people could make finals with falls or large mistakes (Nastia, He, and Beth made bars finals despite Nastia and He falling and Beth hitting the bar + being extremely late on her ono) or medal with falls (Li Shanshan 2007 beam final). And Chinese e-scores weren’t the only ones that were high in Beijing. Nastia had the highest e-scores on floor (9.225 in EF, 9.325 in AA) of the whole competition despite her obvious form issues. Nastia also had the highest bars score of the whole competition (16.9, 7.7 D, 9.2 E) despite form issues and late handstands. And she had even more errors in EF where NBC vehemently claimed that she was robbed by judges who are from countries that never won Olympic medals. She was close to the bar and landed low on her dismount, had a leg sep on her pak, and was incredibly late on a 1/2 turn on the low bar. Tbh tie breakers suck, but I don’t see how she tied He in the first place and beat Yang Yilin as well. Plus... unlike the Chinese, the Americans also got the benefit of doubt on their d-scores. Bela Karoyli actually said that he thought Nellie Kim was still bitter that she lost to his gymnast, Nadia in 1976, that she would take it out on Nastia by lowering her beam score. In the AA, she actually credited her with the onodi + wolf jump 1/1 connection, which gave her a 6.7 SV, instead of the usual 6.6 SV she was getting for the connection obviously being slow. Even Tim said that it was clearly not connected before the final score came in. Shawn Johnson got her amanar in AA credited despite only completing 2.25 twists. Nastia got her double L turn credited every single time, despite her leg clearly being below horizontal for more than half of the turn. This actually cost Jiang Yuyuan the floor bronze. As for Cheng Fei medalling on vault with a fall, I reaaaaallllly hate when people medal in event finals with a fall, but that’s the fault of the COP and vault judging being loose in general. Like falls were only worth 0.8 in this code and Cheng had a 0.9 difficulty advantage over Alicia. This allowed Cheng to beat Alicia through her difficulty advantage plus the strength of her first vault, which was one of the best amanars of all time. Also e-scores on vault were VERY high for all the gymnasts, even higher than they are nowadays and vault has the most generous scoring.  In the next COP, falls became worth a full point, but it was still possible to medal in vault with a fall rip (ie. McKayla Maroney 2012, tho Paseka didn’t have two clean vaults like Asac and had a terrible amanar... tbh I thought Janine Berger deserved to be ahead of both of them because she had higher difficulty than both Paseka and Izbasa and she didn’t have a major mistake like a fall or underrotated and ugly vault like Maroney or Paseka).

Lady Whistledown. I totally understand if you don't post this. Huge no worries because honestly, their fandom is on fire, and it makes me sad the hate they send you. Like it's a damn ship, people. Just stop.

But to get where we are now you sort of have to go back to the beginning of epsiode 4 last season then repeat after every sentence their copium after 24 hours of rage was "well duh the Buddies are crazy so of course ". Oliver only posted he and Eddie for his coming out episode. Oliver never followed or promoted Lou and now they even admit there is bad blood. Oliver never talked to them only Lou took the money. Oliver gave too much attention in the BTS of the medal ceremony to Ryan. Oliver didn't talk about bisexuality in regards to Tommy only to the fact he is. Oliver never promoted interviews. Oliver posted more of Gerrard this season. Oliver flirts too much with Ryan. They didnt get Hen approval scene. No JLH scene after she said they filmed in the same building. They never got the family scenes of Christopher with his 3 dad's. Got more Eddie and Tommy. More Tommy and Eddie. Tommy was supposed to be a main. And as always they would throw Buck off a bridge to get Eddie and Tommy.

So now we lean into Narnia. They had a high after the first episode. OK he's there. But honestly after the initial time. It was a nothing scene. It was about Eddie. It could have been 2 friends teasing each other. Then everything fell apart after that. He wasnt with Athena. He didn't save the day. He didn't have a double date breakfast with Bathena the day after. The worst? They used his truck and he wasn't even there. There is a lot of chatter of the story is narrowing. All they wanted was a 118 family dinner. But he was iced out. Now it's pretty excepted he's not part of the 118. He will be regulated for however long to just Bucks partner. Saw one rage that at least they used Taylor in her job and they couldn't here. We are clearly going into Eddie's isolation arc. They hate his interviews that came out today. He won't be the one to get Christopher back. They basically lost all of their hopes. His story now is how Buck resolves Gerrard issues. Oh and weird fact they seriously thought that when Lou came out of hiding for ABs birthday that it was proof the Athena Tommy connection. She had his back. And well we know how that worked out.

Back on grass. Its been sort of wild to see them keep lowering their bar to make themselves feel better about the story. Well we didn't see Karen sort of thing. Oh but also an annoyance at Josh with Maddie. Apparently in their world there's a limit to queer people and it can only be BT and Henren.

This made me giggle, ngl. Each episode proving their spec wrong was awesome lol. He was there for 30 seconds and had 2 lines and they were expecting him to be everywhere. It was extra sweet to see a black child do the thing they were convinced he would. He wasn't on the plane. He wasn't on the highway. He wasn't lowered through the hole in the cockpit. He wasn't on top of the truck. Buck didn't even mention a little plane fact he learned from him. He was only in the story when he was on screen and he was barely there. And now the conflict with Gerrard can't be good for the relationship considering his past. Of course they hate Oliver even though Oliver is the main character and he's made it very clear where he stands when it comes to them, but the flirting too much with Ryan made me scream. They are so mad they rpfing. I kinda love that they want more of Tommy and Eddie but even though he was in a scene about Eddie, he did not interact with Eddie, not really. I guess living of "you're a vision in a cone" is not good when there's a plane emergency and he's not there. And yeah, the show did find a way to incorporate the journalist, if they wanted to incorporate the firefighter pilot, they would, too bad they don't. I did not see the bathena breakfast spec, that one is funny as hell. I wanna say I can't believe they actually thought the comment was a message but, I totally can, and that obviously didn't go anywhere. And of course they are turning on Josh, why wouldn't they. I will say their cope has been glorious to read, like my god you guys are so close to the point and missing it. I can't imagine how mad they must be behind closed doors.
