It's kind of insane, actually, that people are actually acting like Ciri isn't the true main character. Going to be a wake-up call when they realize the last book/books centered around Ciri, and that they already made a statement after the Liam stuff was announced, that Ciri is going to be the main character of the show from here on out and it's going to focus on her journey just like Lady of the Lake did...so did you all just not read the books, or...? If you don't like it, this show isn't for you.

little mermaid AU with ariel!geralt. he doesnt have a father telling him that the land is forbidden or anything, but he's different from other merpeople and he can feel it. the loneliness of having his own territory eats at him, and even thought it's dangerous he cant help but poke at human inventions, sneak close to their ships. that's where he finds jaskier, the human prince who almost dies in a storm at sea.

yennefer is the sea witch, but she doesnt have an evil motive. magic comes at a price. they've known each other long enough that she does this for him, gives him legs and takes his voice, sets him free so he can go find the mysterious man he saved, so he can maybe find somewhere he belongs better than the sea.

the levels of overshadowing and underappreciaton of female characters can be easily spotted when you enter a new fandom and find out that there are actually multiple well written women. meanwhile you have heard about like one and it was coming from dudebros who were calling her their waifu with big tits and ass

You know...people are always complaining about Yen's behavior after the Triss debacle, and warranted...because she's big time mad and she's displacing it on Geralt and she shouldn't...but if you haven't read the books then lemme back my baby up for a moment okay?

Before Triss takes advantage of Geralt, Yen and Geralt are living together. They are in love, they are happy, they have a home--they're practically married--and then shit hits the fan. So, they're finally getting some domestic bliss TOGETHER only to have to deal with kidnapping, and poisoning and then they BOTH end up with amnesia (that's right, in the books it happened to her too). They're both separated and not of their right minds and while Geralt has it harder, Yennefer went through some shit too.

Now, picture that you come out of your amnesia, and all you want is to find your soul mate again, make sure he's okay, and be with him, only to be told he's in love with someone else. And not just ANY someone else, okay? Someone she considers to be one of her best friends. So, after this horrific ordeal, and literally DROPPING EVERYTHING TO TRY TO FIND GERALT THE MOMENT SHE REMEMBERS, she's told that never mind, he's in love with someone else, leave him alone.

Would you not be mad too?!

Like, the book doesn't handle any of the Triss fallout the way that it should, and yeah, even in the games Yen's throwing shit off cliffs and portalling Geralt into the ocean, but come on. She's absolutely gutted. HEARTBROKEN. She should have taken it out on Triss, but she didn't know what was going on until Geralt finally got his memories back and did the same thing: went looking for her.

So, give my baby a break.

Been feeling the 'Jaskier upset with Geralt' angst train lately if this prompt interests you

I read the word 'angst' and instantly went on board- honestly Jaskier deserves to be angry with Geralt. What always makes me go *chef's kiss* in those scenarios is that Jaskier is upset, but he doesn't want Geralt to be hurt! He always looks out for him 🥺🥺 I made Jaskier and angry-crier, because I haven't tormented my man enough. Also Jaskier being able to actually show how upset he is and Geralts self worth issues of 'distancing himself when he thinks he isn't wanted' FIGHT-

I am now invested enough in the witcher (show) that im worried it wont carry to a satisfying conclusion, particularly given the whole streaming situation.  I suppose I should give the books another try. Is the series finished?

Who do you ship Ciri with?

Oh boy. I'm afraid mine will be an unpopular opinion.

In canon there is only one person I would ever ship Ciri with romantically (and this is in regards to her being older btw), and that person is Cahir (yes, I'm a rare Cahiri fan.)

Maybe it has to do the fact I like how they are like opposites (and parallels) of each other? Or how Ciri hates him rightfully at first, but he ends up proving he is a good guy. Or...the fact there is so much potential between them (I mean, there has to be a reason as to why he had dreams about her just like Geralt! Destiny does weird things..) It could also be that I'm just a sucker for the Knight and Princess trope.

Either way, I'm in agreement that I only ship it if Ciri is older.
