Okay so S19E57 just makes it canon that Henrik would hate how a lot of the Holby fandom treats him.

“You see, I need people like you, Mr. Levy: not to rally to my side, but to challenge me. To steer me back to what matters most. I don’t really want blind devotion. I need someone to tell me when I might be wrong.”

Right there, he admits to being fallible and that he hates it when people pretend he’s not. He’d hate all that stuff people push about him being a “hero” or “Holby’s moral compass” or whatever.

(Also, again, Henrik is very very self-aware for a character both the show and the fandom regularly wanted us to believe wasn’t capable of knowing what was best for him.)

#yes i only finished watching the scenes from this episode last night #despite having started rewatching them a couple days ago #what can i say i've been busy #sidenote if you want to make yourself mad about how the show kept forcing henrik back into the ceo job just rewatch this episode #because in hindsight they were SO clearly building up to his resignation in s20 #said resignation being a PIVOTAL point for his character development #and then they just undid it by the end of the season #he was genuinely happy as just a surgeon and he was MISERABLE as ceo #and when he finally acknowledged that and tried to put his own mental health first #it wasn't allowed to last because the writers wanted to restore the status quo #if only we'd got to keep abigail and see her actually develop as a character #instead of ''lol fuck your mental health henrik you need to go back to being ceo''
