i think it is so kind of you to offer your help to a complete stranger who wishes to make a comeback to rping on here but is wary because so much has changed.

i actually have this idea of taking a character from marvel and placing them in the stranger things universe where they are a surviving subject from hawkins lab.

but yeah making a card is pretty new to make, i don't have the talent or skills to make my own graphics and then formatting now is also another don't know much about.

then the whole thing of jumping back in also kind of triggers a bit of anxiety.

which i guess is normal but still.

hi again friend! so i definitely do think several things have changed in the rpc as a whole over the years, but in my opinion a lot of changes have been for the better. back in the day everyone used to be obsessed with a good aesthetic-- super complex themes, icons, graphics, etc. if you didn't have top quality stuff no one really took you seriously lol and nowadays most people (including me) don't even have a theme. the only reason i have fancy graphics n stuff is because it's what i personally like to use, not because i felt pressured by anyone and i don't care if my rp partner doesn't use icons or have fancy graphics either, what matters is what they write! carrd is also really easy-- there's a lot of resources out there for pre-made ones where you just put in your own information/pics.

i love marvel and i love stranger things so i am super interested to hear more about that! and honestly i'm not fully in the stranger things rpc but everybody has been really nice to me there <3 i have a lot of cool people ive met i can recommend to you, and yeah i have a ST verse for mikey too so yeah! you got this dude!!!

✖ How has Tumblr RP changed since you started?

Honestly? Since I started on tumblr, things in the RP community have just become more elitist in a way?

It's less about the writing these day and more of of who can have the fanciest aesthetic, or the prettiest looking blog or be the most popular. Which is all fine and well if if that's your thing, but blog aesthetic isn't the end all be all. A blog having an amazing aesthetic isn't indication of the quality of writing, just as the lack of aesthetic isn't an indication of the quality of the writing on the blog.

It's also the same when it comes to the kind of images people use when RPing. I've seen people get really nasty anon's over the way they format their icons and you know what? At the end of the day, I just don't care about that type of thing. I will match my partner for the most part. Use icons? So will I. Gif icons? Larger gifs? No images at all? Cool with me.

I hear from a lot of people that the RPC keeps getting smaller and smaller and it is. It's because people are being disincluded for the kind of imaged they use, or their blog isn't fancy enough or cliques are appearing and acting more like a group RP than an indie blog.

Don't get me wrong, be selective to keep your blog your happy place. Have rules that keep your comfort, block liberally for your sanity, and enjoy your time on here because this is for fun, it's not a job... but I just feel like in recent years, we judge people's worthiness to write with more on how their blog and post aesthetic, than the actual writing these days.

I was thinking about remaking, but that won’t lead me anywhere. What I might do is clean up my blog a little bit/check who still wants to do something? I want to write here but I honestly don’t know who wants to continue what/if people want to continue threads or talking altogether. 

But one of the big changes that I will make here is that I will make this blog primarily OC focused. As in, I will remove all my canon muses and shove them in my bonus page that you can ask me if we are really good friends. It’s nothing against RPing canon muses, I just spend way more time (and money!) on my OCs and I’d like them to have more of the spotlight. Which means I’ll be revamping my muse page and finally sitting down to write the OCs that I want to bring forward at least a small bio page. 

I admire people who do graphics and very elaborate stuff a lot, but I am Very Disabled (tm) and busy (I’m married, ADHD, executive dysfunction, like thirty other things going on, taking care of my husband and our silly apartment, not things u need to know but I feel like sometimes I need to explain why everything about me is so sporadic and activity is so spread out) and I either have energy to make things fancy or to write. Sometimes I don’t even have the energy to write. So I might go back to simple gdocs pages for all of them, to make it easier on myself. I already gave up on smalltext because even that made me agonize about writing. 

I know I dropped the ball on a lot of people re: plotting (and I am so so so so sorry for that), but I really prefer plotting + talking about our characters instead of doing 90 small threads like... people usually do. It’s legit easier on my brain when I know what I need to focus on instead of constantly trying new things. Of course this does not apply to memes I send people, it’s easy to do that and I love doing that. Plus I don’t like using icons most of the time and I feel like doing small/impromptu stuff - that is not my forte - without it makes my blog look very clogged/weird. Again, this is mostly me. I prefer doing longterm things that I know I will get a cool story out of + someone to talk about said story. It was my reason to start writing to begin with, I like creating stories with other people.  

But yeah tl;dr I’m not going to move blogs, but I might clean my follower list up real bad, throw most of my Canon muses in a locker and slap very simple things on my blog from now on. If we have a thread or you want to continue something please let me know. I’ll also be cleaning my inbox and just considering most of my threads (except for the few people that I already rp with and they know my very on-off-mostly-off schedule or if we have already good established relationships in-character) dropped. 

So with that said if you’re not ok with it for whatever reason you can feel free to unfollow me! I’m having way less time to write these days and I kind of want to focus on things that people actually want to write with me <:3c

Do you have any advice? Just because you seem like quite the well-versed RPer!

Advice? Well... Running an RP Blog on Tumblr is just a fun hobby.

The only advice I can really think to give you is that most people (myself included) prefer to RP with their Mutuals since then we know we are allowed to RP with each other. 

For example. I’m not Mutually exclusive/Private, but I’ll admit it’s much easier to know that I am allowed to RP with a blog if we are both Following each other. Some people however will RP with people they don’t Follow. I’ve RPed with a couple people like that that don’t Follow me but still allowed me to RP with them and they’re great. It’s just a matter of checking a blog’s Rules to see what they’re stance on who exactly they will RP Thread with is. 

However, if you are both Following each other. You are Mutuals, and that always means you and the RP Partner are free to RP 100% of the time. 

Though that might all be obvious. So let me give you another piece of advice.

About what you said about fancy blogs with their fancy icons. I’m gonna be honest. Nobody cares these days.

If you have good presentation? Cool! If you don’t? also cool!

The only time I can see good blog presentation mattering is if you run an obscure muse. (A muse from a small Fandom/A muse that is not a very well known character).

But even then, as long as your writing is good for your obscure muse, most people will gravitate towards you anyways because every time you post something the character writing and character personality consistency is so high quality™.

Here’s what RPers on Tumblr care about these days:

Effort. 

However. Not effort in how fancy you make your icons or your theme. Effort in your writing. 

As long as you put your best effort into your writing. You can’t go wrong, and I assure you, you will get popular. 

Don’t have the energy to post something IC with your best effort on a particular day? Then don’t post that day. Skip as many days of Tumblr RPing as you want.

Just always make sure that when you post something IC (In-Character). The writing of that character has your BEST EFFORT and a lot of love put into it.

Because trust me. People can see with their eyes if something you wrote wasn’t your best effort from a mile away.   

Writing is the only place on an RP Blog where effort is absolutely necessary. That’s what people are coming to you for, that’s the content they want and you have to serve it to the best of your ability every single time you post something IC (In-character). 

You don’t have to put any effort into your icons or how your theme looks as long as it’s funtional and has a Rules page and an About page. 

However, if you decide you want to put a lot of effort and love into your icons and how your Theme looks. Just make sure you’re doing it for yourself because you personally like having something nice to look at when you’re done posting an RP Thread.

Never do it to impress your RP Partner. 

Do it for yourself ❤️.

Honestly, like, I’m forever grateful for the switch to icons from gifs. Mostly because I’m so lazy. I would spend hours going through a gif hunt and naming every gif, or spend way too long picking gifs at random from their thumbnail -- only needing to delete them because the expression was totally different from what I expected. For as much as I think some fancy/deepfried/blockquote icons might be a part of how graphics have become much more fancy/advanced since when I started, I think overall they’ve actually freed it up to be about the writing more. Just a hint of spice to emphasize your character’s feeling in your reply, rather than agonizing over finding the right gif buried in a hunt that takes too long to load or having to apologize in the tags for the gif not quite working. I think icons are way more flexible. 

I used to actually be really salty about icons (probably because I then had wasted all that time naming gifs), but now that they’re so easy to find and organize, I’m on board all the way.

♒ Thoughts on the fandom you're currently rping in?

Oh, the witcher fandom. 

Just kidding! Overall, I’ve really enjoyed my just over a year in the witcher fandom. People tend to be really helpful about working with different levels of familiarity with the lore, taking plots and characters in cool directions, and being generally welcoming (within reason, it’s tumblr, I know we’re not all going to get along all the time). But one thing I wish the RPC could consider more is that like... one adaptation doesn’t have to be superior to another. Adaptations are tricky and fucking hard because changing the medium inherently changes things about the story (”the medium is the message” and all that). You absolutely don’t have to like every version of something (or hell, even the original), but I think it’s worth it to always be open to and respecting the value someone else has found in one version or another (or all of them). 

Speaking as someone who loves the book Haun.ting of Hi.ll Hou.se and the Netflix adaptation which... wholly changes the overall message of that book: Adaptations are going to be weird and have value in weird places. Acknowledge what does or doesn’t work for you and run with that and don’t put anyone down who has a different set of things that do or don’t work.

preferred genres/tropes/aus: horror, angst, psychological, thriller, dark genres in general, romance. <-- i’m stealing this answer 1:1 from kay because it’s perfect. disliked genres/tropes/aus: domestic fluff without a purpose, pregnancy and childbirth, fight scenes, social media aus like wtf do you even do there write out youtube videos??, religion themed things (based on real religions), “celebrity” aus, college aus without any further plot (that’s a setting), hogwarts based aus (again, what’s the plot that is just a setting). preferred writing styles: multi-para to novella. tho i don’t usually write novella because it takes me long enough to write multiple paragraphs. sometimes it happens though. i don’t really do one-liners anymore. personal icon preferences (do you use them? do you prefer certain sizes? ect.): mine are like 75x75 to 100x100. i like using them because i think they complement the post, but i don’t always have one that fits or even any for certain characters, so i also write without them. i don’t mind when people use no icons. any other details about your writing preferences you want to include: i like both present tense and past tense (i tend to write present tense). i kind dislike first person narrators, but i can live with them. what i really fucking hate is second person narration, that’s only acceptable in homestuck. i don’t like double small text because i can’t read it; seriously i already zoom in to 150% sometimes on the regular dash. i also can’t deal with these posts that are so formatted every other word has a different font size, italics, boldness or color. it LOOKS great, but it’s annoying to read, tbh. that, and it’s usually accompanied by purple prose which i absolutely despise. i find it laughable that some people consider that “high quality writing” like no. it very often doesn’t make sense, it’s overly complicated, it sounds like the writer had a sentence in their head and then looked up an archaic synonym for every single word just to sound cool. and it usually creates long paragraphs in which literally nothing happens but someone dropping a pen and saying “ur dumb” but in very fancy. i’ll let this slide as poetry, but not as epic writing. stop making people feel inferior for (luckily) not being “able” to write like that, it’s seriously not better at all. go back to college and ask any literature professor (who doesn’t specialize in poetry - or maybe even them) if they think this is good writing. i dare you.

anon | ‘✖‘ the times i have reached out to you, i've been ignored... i do love your blog so, but naturally i'm hesitant because of that.

i’m gonna answer these together and be breathtakingly, brutally honest about myself here.  first things first:  i remade in part because this was a bit of a problem, in that so much was happening on my dash at all times i literally could not keep up with the influx of ims, how fast my dash moved, and it was incredibly, awfully, not fun overwhelming.  rp started to feel like a job, and i’m not here for that.  i couldn’t keep up.  i was stretched thin.  so naturally i gravitated back to the people i have sure, plotted things with.  things i don’t have to think hard about because i don’t have to really consider how tony feels, i already know.  does any of this make sense?  probably not.  but this is a lot of it.  there was just too much, at all times, going on, and now that i’m here, on this new blog, the list of people i’m following is genuinely under a quarter of how many i was.  i do regular clean outs when things aren’t clicking.

so let me clear up the main elephant in the room here that...if you’re here, if i’m following you.  i want to rp with you.  i don’t care if you’re 616.  i don’t care if you’re mcu.  i don’t care if you’re another fandom.  i don’t care if you’re an oc.  i don’t.  if i’m here and you’re here, i want the thing.  sometimes it’s gonna take some hashing out before we do the thing, however.  and that all comes down to the point that scenarios that would work for an mcu based tony will not work for a 616 based one.  things have to be kinda guided, i know not everyone is familiar with the comics and how astronomically different tony is.  but i’m here to do that, to talk about, to explain how he’s different and answer any questions anyone may have because i am a literal tony stark wiki article.  except more indepth and a better wealth of cited sources.  you get me?  please i am begging you - if you ever legit have questions about how comic tony is different, i am always happy and more than willing to answer them.  you’re giving me a chance to do my favorite thing, which is talk about my boy.

and if i’ve ever ghosted you in an im or something, it’s by accident usually.  again, i used to get...so many ims.  so many.  i could not keep up.  i’d open something with the intention of replying and get swamped with something else and...by the time i realized i’d never replied it’d been ages and i’d look like an asshole.  like i said, my dash is much, much, much smaller now.  and i definitely intend to keep it that way.  i’m still bad about being flaky on tumblr ims, i don’t know why my brain hates them so much.  and i will say disco is literally the best place for this kind of thing, if you have it.  but i’m doing what i can - now that i’m not...drowning under the weight of things - to keep up with what i have.  i’m...well, probably still failing miserably, but i’m trying.  there’s also the fact that i’m socially anxious, shy, and awkward.  i don’t do the whole hi how are you thing very well.  i do better, handle it better, if we just jump right into it.  it gives me something to latch on to that’s not the social graces i lack. (as a note, you’ll probably notice i’m in literally almost no marvel/rp servers at all that aren’t exceptionally tiny and closed, and this is part of that, too.)

last two things, here we go.  one, there are certain people (that shall remain nameless) that i have a lot of things with.  and by a lot i mean unintentionally they make up the bulk of my drafts and inbox.  we just have plotted and built so much we have a lot to say.  but that doesn’t mean i’m closed to having more friends like that.  let me be really clear about that.  i’m absolutely here for it.  and now, hopefully, with such a small dash, i can do that.  like everyone else, sure, i have my friends.  we happen to have plotted things more.  i have threads i’m really excited about, and they get a faster turn around - strike while the iron is hot, etc.  but it’s because we talk and plot that that happens.  i know i’m kinda awkward, and it takes a tic to get me comfortable.  i don’t do small talk at all.  but honestly - i prefer being friends with people i write with because it makes it all just...so much easier than writing with a stranger.  i’ve never been very good at that, and i come - originally - from an rp background stretching back to livejournal and dreamwidth where friend groups move through the community together, and all the friend groups are interconnected by some people so they merge and move and...it’s like that.  it’s how i know how to operate.  and i would love - and i can’t believe i’m finally gonna say it - to have a good, solid group.  for continuity and plotting.  a bunch of avengers rpers where we can just.  set up a continuity line and run with it.  would fucking love that.

lastly, here’s the the thing:  i don’t give a good doodly fuck all about aesthetics.  i really don’t.  i like making things in photoshop, it’s fun for me.  it’s a hobby.  it’s relaxing some days to do nothing but make comic edits.  i like comic artwork, so i make things out of it.  a lot of the rpc is into it.  i know some people do it for...idk.  popularity points.  but it’s completely incidental.  i make things because i want to,  not because i give a good goddamn what anyone else thinks about it.  don’t use icons?  cool, that’s fine.  don’t have a fancy theme?  great, those don’t matter.  don’t make fancy promos?  okay, would you like one?  i like making promos.  like it’s a thing that literally just doesn’t matter to me, but is also a hobby that overlaps the rpc and it is what it is.

a lot of my reticence has to do with the fact that...i worry people come here looking for a tony stark that acts like mcu tony, and uses comic artwork, and that’s not what this is.  i’m a comic tony through and through, and he’s as different as you can get without a lot of core things being true.  i feel like that’s probably disappointing to some people, and if it is, i’m sorry, but it’s why, ultimately, overall i was disappointed with how the mcu panned out.  but it makes me really kinda...gunshy, even though i very much want to interact with you if you’re here!  i do.  and that’s the truth of it.

How to enter a fandom - RPC

Hey guys, time for a friendly PSA from yours truely~

So I’ve been in and out of a lot of fandoms, made friends, enemies, frenemies, grave mistakes and happy accidents. I also see a lot of people come in other fandoms. Most of yall do great but I see some people carry in this weird sort of self deprecating attitude that can immediately turn rpers away from them, which results in; more of that self deprecation. So Im here to hopefully help out with the best ways to enter a fandom or an rpc, make your presence known and make lots of wonderful friends.

Now the first, and most important thing, and I notice a ton of people struggle with it is:

General attitude. 

Let me give two examples of some first time posts.

“Hey! I’m new to the fandom. I know my bio and my theme sucks but would anyone like to rp? Maybe?”

VS.

“Hey! I’m new to the fandom. My bio and rules are located here, though they’re still under construction I’m really eager to develop them with interactions!”

Now I know the first one is tempting for a lot of reasons. You might not even feel like its all that bad, but up next to the second one it actually sounds a little...depressing, monotone, dry. Even though they start the same, one ends with me feeling like: this person really doesn’t put effort into things, they dont even really want to be here. All my threads with them are going to be lazily written or probably written with half baked enthusiasm.

The second person is happy to be here, eager to interact, admits that since they’re a new blog not everything is perfect. Yet, they don’t talk down on themselves or make it seem like anyone who talks to them will only be taking pity on them.

This is actually a big problem I see in the rpc. Making people take pity on you for interactions and the rule with that is simple:

don’t make people feel like they have to take pity on you. 

It’s a knee jerk reaction, I know. We’re all awkward humans on the internet who want to play up our faults. Who wants to say “My stuff is SO awesome! It’s the best”??? 

Well. You do. You’re new to a fandom. People already have established relationships, character arks, possibly with another version of the muse youre playing. Backstories so detailed it’ll make your head spin. You are literally selling yourself to these other rpers. Don’t sell them “A vacuum cleaner that sucks. No, not sucks up the dirt, it just sucks. Like me, Im trash and dont even have a working vacuum” No one wants to buy a vacuum cleaner that sucks.

Hate to break it to you, but when you say you suck, or your stuff sucks; people are gunna believe you. Or they’re just gunna pity you. And thats not great either. 

Heck you might think; why not? So long as they rp with me, whats wrong with that? 

Well... lots of things but mostly; pity isn’t a good feeling. Nobody wants to feel guilted into rping with you. Imagine seeing someone on your dash constantly posting about how no one likes them, their character or interacting with them. How they wanna die because they never get asks, no one likes their starters. (Sound extreme? I’ve seen it.) It makes you feel bad right? It makes you wanna like them but like- where do you even start??? They don’t even like them?? What common ground do you have?? “Hey, I see you hate yourself... uh... I hate you too?” Not great. Actually bad. You don’t know how to approach this person without becoming an emotional crutch, and you know they’ll latch on to you and suck every positive emotion out of your body so how do you win?

So lesson one is; People don’t want to be forced to feel so bad that they rp with you, they want to feel inspired to. Inspire some dudes! (or non-dude identifying people)

I can’t stress enough how important attitude is because I’ve had both a shitty attitude and a great one in the RPC and let me tell you, nothing kills a blog faster than a shitty attitude. Wanna make a self deprecating posts about that meme that you got 0 asks for? NUH UH. Think again. PITY = BAD, SHORT LASTING FRIENDSHIPS. INSPIRED = SUPER AWESOME HAPPY FUN TIMES FOREVER.

Yo, present yourself in a way that makes people wanna approach you. Get them interested, say something wacky or edgy or if your character is self deprecating then self deprecate through them but DO IT IN A FUN WAY. The people who care about icons and fancy promos usually aren’t worth lasting friendships either. Sometimes they literally spend more time formatting than writings something worth while for you. (some of you really balance it and just love formatting but u know im not talking about u Im talking about those that literally wont talk to us that dont)

So present yourself well and be genuine.

The internet is a playground because you can trick people into believing whatever you want about yourself. YEP even good things!!! You don’t have to wear your flaws on your sleeve, and you certainly don’t have to wear them like a full body cast that prevents you from doing anything fun in your life.

Take the cast off, take a risk. You literally have nothing to lose. Especially if no one interacts with you as is anyways.

Be mindful

This is more of a trick I use to make myself feel better. I don’t follow a lot of people so my dash is pretty slow. It’s fairly easy to tell when people are and aren’t active/online so I literally have to trick myself sometimes but;

If you reblog a meme and get nothing, step back and ask yourself; am I sure anyone even saw it? and are the people who did maybe to shy to send anything? Or maybe nothing in that meme applies to their character.

As a mute character I am VERY restricted to what memes I reply to. As a character who speaks VERY LITTLE I am VERY restricted to what dialogues I can send at all. This means I’m required to edit memes a little (this is allowed by most meme creators btw) or I need a very good relationship with a character in order to say/sign that many words at them.

And worse case scenario, queue it and reblog it again/later. Its no biggie, some memes don’t make it.

Self reflect

Check out people on the dash. Do they have interactions? What are they like? Is their character more welcoming? Maybe you’re character is more intimidating. You might need to actually seek out interaction.

Tumblr has this huge enigma where everyone wants asks but no one wants to send them. Curious anons come from someone, magic anons come from your peers, followers, friends. Some of them are pretty obvious. Want asks? Send them. We really need to get the ball rolling with this because its honestly a problem. Show some initiative and reach out. It actually feels pretty good seeing someone react to your outrageous anon. And its a lot of stress relief if you play an otherwise very serious character to get to branch out and be silly.

So you send asks, you like starter calls- why isn’t it working?

Well, a stranger knocks on your door and tries to get to know you. Its a little awkward- it can work sure in some cases. But in most you’ll probably close the door and phone the police.

The RPC isn’t as strange as that but what’s easier? Talking to a muse you’ve never met from a blog you’ve never seen before? Or writing a thread with your best bud, throwing in inside jokes and references to your favourite shows- teasing each other about that one embarrassing thing that happened to your muse- yeah. Yeah you get it.

If you have history or at least an idea what someone is like, you will want to interact with them more. I don’t know if you’re some mean... meanie pants whos gunna smack my muse because he offered you a cookie. And maybe you are, but if I don’t know you, or know that your muse is deeply traumatized by cookies, I might take that as you saying “Ew no get away I never wanna rp with you”.

It sounds harsh, but I KNOW it happens. It STILL happens to me, even with people I’m friends with. Even if someone has multiple blogs and I get on fine with one muse, if the other hates me I might get uneasy about sending in asks cause I feel like I’m directly bothering the mun (who I love on this blog but WHAT IF THEY START HATING ME THERE TOO???)

Separation is tricky. We all get jealous or feel neglected when our partners focus on another thread/ship or send mean angsty replies which is why its important to check yourself remind yourself you have value, mun =/= muse and that it’s all in good fun.

Have Rules

UGH no!!! Not rules I hate rules, I dont want to restrict anyone!

Listen. I get it. I was a rule-less blog for a long time. But you know what? You need them. Not just for you, but for the people who wanna interact. I still feel the need to ask people who have rules what they are and aren’t comfortable with. You might not realize it but shit can go down in rps especially in certain fandoms. Even if its just the basics. Write them. They matter.

Unless you’re fine with someone literally controlling your character, or a blog you dont even follow who RPs David Letterman tags you in a smutty thread where your muse and him are married and he’s heavily pregnant with 4 narwal baby’s I- I think you can see where I’m going.

If its just the basics, thats fine, everyone loves seeing that. No god modding, not forced shipping, ect- great. Less for me to remember. Add to it if you need to. Everyone experiences rp different. Make your experience a comfortable one.

Step away.

If you’re feeling negative, just step away. Do not make a big post about it alerting everyone who follows you because they might not all respond well. If you have close friends in then fandom you can go to, talk to them, vent a little, or just remove yourself and get those feelings out. But remember that no one here is equipped to be your therapist, and we cant all be expected to take the burden from you. It is up to you to regulate your emotions. Use coping skills but please don’t make the fandom or your blog a toxic place to be.

You don’t feel good, and no one reading your posts feels good, and building friendships on not feeling good is just... completely not good.

Im not saying you must be sunshine and rainbows all the time, but feeling bad feels bad and even though rping is just a hobby and a past time you are still reaching into other peoples lives. Leave a good impact, try to be someone you would want to meet in the rpc. Make it a better place.

-I’ve wrote this a few times now on the blog but I am Semi-Selective and Mutuals only. I have a lot of anxiety or rping with to many people. I do open up to more people in time. Again, I rp for fun and as a stress release I don’t want to start making rping stressful.

-If I’m following you and you follow back. How do you know it’s me?? I send geckos and danger noodles. I’m very shy when first interacting so I send geckos on anon. It’s a way for me to 1) judge your muse and how they handle things. 2) It makes me feel better as a starter to say hello.

-This blog is a nsfw/sfw blog.

-I don’t rp with minors. I’m literally over 21+ I don’t feel personally comfortable with minors interacting or rping with me. Nothing against ya, I’m just not comfy with it. Other reasons are because I rp a lot of adult/dark themes and I don’t feel comfy with minors being around that.

-I’ll pretty much rp anything except anything NSFW with minors or anything NSFW with minor muses.

-I will unfollow if I feel like pretty wiggy about your blog. By this I mean, let’s say you post a canon call. Then you make a post complaining about people liking said canon call. I mean this like you do this a lot. I’m old and I don’t care and it comes off as wiggy to me.

-I do not accept or acknowledge hate to anyone of any kind on my blog, thank you. If I see it on my blog I’m going to delete it. This means I do not condone sending or receiving hate of any kind to others or myself.

-I also will add a side note to this because I can’t believe I have to do this. If I don’t accept of acknowledge hate that also means I will not send hate. I have not and will never do such actions.

-Muse =/= Mun. This means the Mun and Muse do not always share the same feeling or would act the same way. We are two different people.

-Do not reblog my threads unless you are apart of them. If you do I will block you.

-I’m not an rp meme blog, if you are not a mutual please don’t reblog the memes. Reblog it from the sources.

Triggers:

-The only triggers I have is Sharks (Realistic Images or video of them) and IV Needles. I just ask that you please tag them. It’s cool if you forget it happens.  Mostly it’s the needle bit that is the worst trigger. I have other trigger they are just very rare and very hard to hit. I’ll let ya know if you ever hit them.

-If you need something tagged just let me know.

-I will tag things if you need it tagged. I’m also an idiot and forget sometimes. Just slap me with a friendly reminder message and I’ll tag it for ya. When I tag things I always forget to tag things with ‘tw’ at the end.  Example rather then writing ‘gore tw’ I write ‘gore’. Again, I do this mostly because I forget to put ‘tw’ at the end.

Shipping / writing:

-I’ll just slide this in here too. I ship chemistry, if I feel the two muses are getting along and you wanna ship them I’m down. I don’t ship with minors. If you wanna have a family bond connection with my muse, smack dat message button and hit me up. I’m down for chatting about it and plotting it out!

-I ship Connor/Hank personally but this doesn’t mean every Hank my muse meets will want to jump their bones. Again I can’t stress enough how I ship chemistry. I won’t ship with anyone right off the bat unless you talk to me ahead of time and want to plot something out.

-If your Hank only sees Connor as a son, I’m totally cool with that too. Again I do not ship anything unless you’ve messaged me before hand. I just like chemistry between muses first.

-I will ship hate pairings, crack pairings, and just because pairings.

-If you want to ship with my Connor, hit me up. Again this is normally after we’ve been rping for a while. I’m for the most part chill about shipping.

-I have my own NTP I’m chill with talking about them. I’m also over all a very chill but weenie of new peeps person. Again I’ve been around a while.

-If you have a ship you wanna try out with my Connor slap that message button and I’m more than happy to chat it out. We can come up with an idea. But again I prefer chemistry first over shipping.

-I love to plot things out. If you have an AU you would like to try out I’m totally open for it.

-If you see mistakes in my grammar and spelling I am sorry. I tend to type fast and sometimes aren’t able to catch all my mistakes. Please bare with me on that and I’ll most likely edit my posts. Or more commonly I’ll respond with like little to no sleep in me and don’t realize I messed up spelling or used the wrong words or grammar till like the next day or when I post my reply and reread it. Again I have insomnia… most days I’m up till like 3-4 am. Not even lying there. Some days I sleep for like… 14 hours. There is little to no in between.

-I can and will rp dark themes. I love rping angst or pretty much anything. That being said, just be aware of my fear of needles. I will rp sharks just because I can’t physically see them. Writing about that doesn’t bother me just anything to do with blood work just … yeah.

-I write rather large posts when I role play. Don’t feel intimidated because you don’t have to match my post size. It’s just my thing I do. I only ask that if I reply with let’s say a paragraph I wish for at least a paragraph back. This doesn’t apply if it’s a crack thread. Those are just up in the air and fun.

-If your muse is an OC, from a different fandom, or if he never met you in the game and your  beginning message/thread/starter is acting like he knows you right from the get go and he doesn’t I might not answer the ask or thread. Just because sometimes it makes me uncomfortable unless it just fits or you have messaged me ahead of time.

-I also love the idea of my Connor viewing any of the Rk series as family. If you don’t see it that way hit me up and I’m chill with it.

-If the post is long or nsfw based I put them under read more.

Just things I didn’t really know where else to put:

-I am SUPER shy online. In person I’m a loudmouth who isn’t afraid of anything. So it takes me a good long time to message people to rp.

-I am one whole weenie. If you get geckos/ danger noodles (snakes) in your anon box. -dabs- dat be me. Trying to get over being a weenie one gecko at a time. I don’t what it is I’m just very very shy online.

Put the theme for the blog together, the fancy tags- basically the sane voice that was like ‘yo just do the multimuse already’.

I have many, but one of them is writers who ignore other writers because they either don’t have an aesthetic, or the aesthetic is not ‘cool’ enough. Like I’m here to write not for the decoration. Back in the day we could reblog smutty gifs, now they aren’t allowed anymore x’D I think the hellsite changed more but I don’t remember. I think I remember more about the smut because of how hilarious the process of removing it was, when they would flag even cats. It was a whole experience.

♒ Thoughts on the fandom you're currently rping in?

Quite interesting, but it’s starting to annoy me the ‘sides’ and how angry some people gets over one side or the other, like guys don’t forget this is fiction and all of them are going to die anyway xD

(I would say my biggest pet peeve, or at least one of the main ones, when it comes to RP is the elitism and general amount of arrogance. 

A good example would be the people who think that in order to be a good roleplayer, you need to spend a lot of time working on the aesthetics of your writing posts and your entire blog in general. I personally am more comfortable with just the basics bare-bones style when it comes to this situation, that is just writing and not worrying about anything else. 

I’ve always been like that, and it is part of the reason I did not pursue a more in-depth education in writing. I find ‘formats’ ruin the experience for me, nothing takes away the value of expressing myself through writing for me faster than guidelines and rules. It just defeats the purpose of my enjoyment and it makes me sad that a lot of RPers can’t look past the superficial and judge me for whatever quality they think my actual writing has and not just the way it looks compared to expectations.

Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against RPers who like to use icons and stylize their threads and use lots of tags and I have no issue RPing with partners who use any style! Some of you are so good at showing your creativity this way! But for me personally I just find it distracting to try to do it when I’m already enough of a procrastinator to begin with and I’ve found it unnecessary for my style of writing.

I completely get that it’s as much a form of art as the writing for some people, and I’m cool with expressing yourself however you want artistically! I enjoy designing and stylizing online too, just not with my writing for whatever reason. Maybe processing issues on my part?

My issue is with people who think they are better because they choose to do this, a higher class of RPer with more experience and more worth, and I find most often the people who think they are better than other RPers for stylizing their threads so heavily are often the ones who actually have very little substance in their content when you strip all of that fanciness away. Not to throw shade but it’s true. 

I’m not trying to rustle any jimmies here but this is just how I feel, because I think that some RPers who are like this think that those who don’t stylize don’t know how or aren’t ‘pro’ enough to do it, when really for me it’s a choice. I’ve been RPing online for nearly a decade, I’ve seen the formats, I know how to do them, I personally do not like using them. End of story.)

(I feel like a terrible roleplayer.

I'm so inactive compared to most because of stupid high school and other crap. My blog doesn't have a fancy theme, cool icons, or even a decent promo. I feel like my writing is subpar compared to the other Pits I've seen. I don't know why people choose to interact with me.

I'm slow, only "ok" at Rping, and my blog doesn't even look nice because I'm running it off my phone, which crashes if I type too fast. And I'm never sure how to approach people.

HOW THE MUN RUNS THEIR BLOG .

SPEED. im actually online a lot because im on summer break and all my friends here have already headed back for college (theyre on the semester system while im on quarter system) so i am. alONE. i’m also a super fast writer, so im pretty speedy at replying combined with all the free time when im not working.

REPLIES. i try to match length but usually end up writing more than the person i reply to and then replies just get really long lmAO SORRY ;; also u may have noticed but my two favorite things are way too many adjectives and semicolons. this hoe LOVES a good semicolon.

STARTERS. i loooove writing starters tbh never be like “hmm i wanna write w/ emmy but dont know if i can like her starter call” pls do it lmao. i tend to write about 3 paragraphs per starter, thats my “i want this to be interesting but not overwhelming” limit. whether i write ninny as visible or invisible depends 100% on my mood but if you want one version over the other its totally chill to specify. nothing makes me sad w/ roleplaying quite like when i spend a lot of time writing a starter and the other person never replies. if you like my starter call, please. actually reply to the starter i wrote you lmao ;; like im serious that so many people like my starter call, like the starter to let me know they saw it, and then just. never ever reply to it. not just on this blog, ive been rping for years on this hellsite and its always been a thing. it makes me so gjhsgdfsf bc i spend so much time writing those starters like boi

INBOX. i reblog ask memes once in a blue moon bc i always get super worried people wont send anything + am super picky about which i reblog lmAO but on the occasion i do reblog ask memes/rp ask starters, feel free to send in as many as you want i guess? i rly do enjoy writing them so go hard idk

SELECTIVITY. im mutuals-only! i used to not be on my older blogs but oh my god so many weird ppl tried to force me into rping with them and bc i wasnt selective (plus was kind of desperate to please lmao) i just uncomfortably went along with it and it was. tragic. i have no problems with OCs or multimuses or if you use icons or how fancy said icons are or if you make your font tiny or not, i care more about the writing style n stuff. i follow back most of the ppl who follow me! but if we aren’t mutuals than please don’t jump onto an open post or anything ;v;

WISHLIST. i think it would be so cute if i did a thread w/ someone who met ninny as she was when invisible and then met her again as visible, when she’s barely recognizable because she’s so healthy and happy. im also pagan (got a bigass tattoo of Aphrodite on my chest which my friend refers to as my aphrotitties,) and spent a ton of time in the greek/norse myth rpc, and seeing as ninny is a magical creature, itd be really cool to do rps with ppl who roleplay gods. ive had a few but theyve never gone super far. i also wanna explore ninny having a crush on too-ticky because oh my god they wouldnt stop cuddling at the end of the episode in the 90s cartoon u cant tell me she doesnt have a crush on the local butch lesbian

;; Ooh.. Wow. Oh, boy. See, here’s the thing. When I first started rping, there weren’t many people who used icons, and formatting posts wasn’t a thing.. And then, I’ve been in a fandom where I watched people draw their own reaction pics for the asks they got, and then icons started to be used but they were huge and took up half the post but nobody cared. We were just having fun! And then people started formatting their posts with fancy symbols and text and stuff, and we were still all like, ‘oh hey, that’s pretty cool’, and we still just enjoyed rping, because that’s all there was to it. Just having fun.

But then people started getting selective, and choosing who they talked to based on whether or not they used icons, and if the icons they used were a specific size or not, or if their posts were nicely formatted and all neat and pretty. I have watched people get left behind, because they don’t use icons or format their posts.. Because they didn’t know how. I have also seen people get bullied for writing the same muse as someone else. I have been picked on for writing the same muse as someone else’s friend.

Basically, long story short, the tumblr rp community in general has changed a lot since I started, and people are a lot pickier nowadays, and it’s honestly kind of become a harsher place. People like to say there is no elitism on tumblr, but.. there is. I watched it start. I’ve been a victim of it. So.. Yeah. I am a bit salty about that, to be honest.
