and then they go out and get ice cream. sometimes the murderers need to take a break from murdering and just do NORMAL crime yk???

“So, I was thinking.” Benjamin announces over dinner. Max managed to shove them into his plane and fly back to Monaco, waving away any protests from Red Bull that they needed to stay in the UK. Less than six hours since he left Monaco, he’s back in his apartment like he never left.

Only that he’s got another Max and Daniel’s child with him. Benjamin had waltzed into his apartment, brushing away the mini tour Daniel had attempted to give him. Apparently the other versions of them had also lived in the same place, which. Go figure.

“They asked me what last name I wanted to go by. Apparently Ricciardo-Verstappen was too long, but I just think they’re cowards.”

“Okay.” Max nods his head slowly. “If you don’t want people to know that you are related to one of us, you can always use a fake last name. Or use one of our mum’s last names and say you are a cousin or whatever.”

Benjamin drops the fork and Daniel winces at the sharp clink. “I was thinking maybe I would use Ricciardo. Because you aren’t racing, and I thought it would be kinda cool. If that’s okay with you?”

Being stabbed through the heart with the fork Benjamin dropped would’ve hurt less than being reminded that he’s not driving. But it’s the first time Benjamin looks legitimately nervous since they’ve met him and he’s reminded that Benjamin doesn’t actually know why Daniel isn’t driving.

He’s probably assumed retirement, and Daniel’s not leaping out of his chair to correct him, so he swallows down the hurt and hopes the smile on his face is convincing enough. “No. No, I would be honoured.”

It works on Benjamin, who visibly settles into himself again, but it doesn’t get past Max, who lingers on Daniel’s face before turning back to Benjamin.

“I think that is very lovely, Benjamin. So technically I will still have driven a Ricciardo in every year of my career still,” Max replies, offering a small smile in Daniel’s direction.

Hey y'all! Weird question time again, this time for my fellow peeps with brain fog (or other things that could cause word issues tbh I have no idea which of my health issues causes it): Do you ever find when your brain gets stuck trying to say a word because the word is just completely gone from your head* in your first language, you can kinda work around the missing words in a different language? Especially asking if this commonly happens to you in a language that A. you are not fluent in and B. no one you are talking to understands Like, knowing more Spanish vocab has helped me when I get stuck in English because sometimes I can say the thing in Spanish and it's like it unlocks the ability to say it in English, but sometimes I say it in Spanish and still can't come up with the words in English and then I have just said a sentence in not very good Spanish to my dad and brother, who speak almost no Spanish (this has happened enough my brother is picking up on Spanish)

*idk how to articulate the difference between the word issues I'm talking about and the "oh I forget the word it's on the tip of my tongue" type issues. Like, my dad, uncles, and cousin were/are firefighters. My dad was, at the time, watching a show about firefighters. One time I lost the word firefighter so completely that by the time I was able to string together other words to get the concept across, what I came up with was "firetruck people". I still occasionally have the "forgot the word" issues, but I never had the "word is completely gone" problems before I got sick and the two feel very different (they probably look not too dissimilar from the outside)

I've realized that everyone's second season and onwards, there is constant talk of "nothing carrying over" and you can tell everyone kinda thinks that everyone else should forget who they were last season.

y'know, other then them. everyone has sorta been very, "Don't hold a grudge against me for past seasons! it's a totally different season!" and then they turn around and talk about their grudge towards a different person because of a PAST SEASON.
