Even though I've only rewatched the first three eps, I'm thinking about the ending of Good Omens and the whole "Crowley being reinstated as an angel" thing because the miscommunication situation is heartbreaking.
When Crowley sees Aziraphale being so enthusiastic about him regaining his position as an angel, he sees it as Zira being desperate to change part of him, that everything will be okay so long as the traits that Crowley holds as a demon are gone. But Crowley doesn't want that. He just wants to be accepted for who he is and it's incredibly painful for him to see the one that he loves so enthusiastic to have an integral part of Crowley changed.
But the thing is, that isn't want Aziraphale wants. He doesn't want Crowley to become an angel because he's trying to "fix" him. Zira remembers how happy Crowley was when he was an angel, and wants to see that pure, unfiltered happiness that he lost post-fall back again. However, Aziraphale doesn't seem to realise that just because Crowley was happy then, it doesn't mean that he would be happy going back there.
And the whole situation is so painful to watch because it's two people (well not people but you know what I mean) who love each other so deeply that all they want is acceptance and happiness but because they don't just sit down and talk about things they're totally misconstruing each others intentions and wants.
Crowley wants to be loved just as he is, but he thinks that Aziraphale will only love him once he's changed. And Aziraphale does love Crowley for who he is, and he wants so desperately to bring him the happiness he once had, but he doesn't realise that going back to how things used to be isn't going to make that happen.
