Kim and Marcia "Marcia, is an eccentric dresser. She loves “Being fashion”. She loves mermaids and and her favorite color is colorful. Our relationship - I left her Dad and moved from Brooklyn back to Miami Bc I didn’t want to normalize our dysfunctional/abusive behavior. I bring this up because having her really put everything into focus. I suppose it may be cliche to say she saved me but she really did. I left Brooklyn broken, broke, traumatized, depressed. Shortly after I lost all my jobs within 2 months. Things were BAD. I managed to get a job in Bloomingdales that barely paid my bills and the massive debt I incurred during my relationship. She’s an expressive girl who’s so emotionally competent and I always made sure to do my best to nurture that even when things were really dark for me. Fast forward to now. It’s almost 3 years since I’ve been back in Miami. My daughter is thriving. She’s in school, does Muay Thai, swimming and gymnastics. She loves to paint and draw (I’m an art major so I always did art with her) I’m an elementary school art teacher which I thoroughly enjoy. I just got accepted into Grad School to get my Masters in Arts in Medicine and we are finally moving into our own place in August. I want her to know that it’s ours and not just mine Bc she helped me focus and get it together to get here. When I found out I was pregnant, I knew I wanted my child to wake up everyday and know that their mother loves what she does. Marcia helped me find that and get to it.
