So, I know I'm a little (very) late to the AvA stuff, but I was rewatching AvM Season 3 for the seven hundredth time and, well, I noticed something and I'm curious to know if it's been discussed before.

AvM Episode 29, Purple's story, specifically, Pink's death.

Her color changes as she dies, or is represented to have died.

It fades to grey.

Now, the question is, can we, or rather should we, use this to infer anything lore-related? Was this just an artistic choice to depict the act of becoming unhealthy/dying, or could this be what actually happens to stick figures that die over a period of time? Are their colors linked to their health?

Let's have a bit of fun with it, and presume that the fading of one's color can happen to a stick figure for health-related reasons, as the scene could imply.

This fading seems to involve loosing the saturation of one's color into grey. Saturation is how vibrant a color is, and the complete lack of saturation is greyscale.

The World-of-Alan reason for Pink's death is that she 'got sick', which is where the health connection of this theory comes from. If she did loose her color as she was dying as the notes depict, that loss of color was likely a result of her failing health rather than any other factors, like age or outside variables. A whole bunch of human body stuff are indicators for good vs poor health, including skin color (jaundice and cyanasis are good examples) so why not a stick's color for them?

What if, when they fully die, they lose all of their original color?

Now, let me propose this…

Who else do we know of who has had their color loose vibrancy?

What if Victim's color has lightened because he's ill?

There was an odd beauty in Death, its something that Jason has been aware of. It was obvious in the way as he could feel the smoke inhalation begin to affect him along with the burns from the explosion. His vision blurred heavily he accepts his fate, his own mother sold him out but he couldn’t be bitter about it. He tried to save him, tried his best as a Robin and to help others.

Everything hurt, his eyes stung from the smoke even if Jason knew they’d sting from tears if he was able to.

“Shhh… it’s alright. You don’t need to stay strong anymore Jason.”

A soft, soothing voice told him and he wanted to turn to see who was here— how they were here. He gave a wheezy response as a figure entered his rather blurry field of view. His lungs felt heavy, they burned alongside the stinging sensation across his body. He thinks he could vaguely feel the stickiness of blood pooling underneath him from the stray rebar from whatever was in warehouse that managed to hit him. He couldn’t feel where it exactly it hit but he felt so cold.

Would Bruce be okay? Is he looking for him? Jason hopes that Bruce doesn’t blame himself and that Dick keeps an eye on the older man.

Everything hurts. He’s so tired, he hopes B forgives him for not listening. Gentle hands place themselves on his cheeks before they move up to where his eyes are. The blue hue of their skin obvious as a soft rumbling was heard. Was another explosion going to happen? This person needs to leave. There shouldn’t be another death at the hands of Joker. His mouth opened to speak but he was shushed softly.

“You’ve done enough Jason. You can relax, come home with me.” The person gently murmured and Jason took a weak breath and suddenly it felt so much easier to breathe, how was that possible?

“That’s it Jaybird, follow my voice.” Jason knows stranger danger, he grew up in Crime Alley where you couldn’t trust anyone as far as you can see or throw them but something about this person was like a siren call. It made Jason feel at home, like he was wrapped up in one of mom’s hugs— Not Shelia’s— Catherine’s. Oh how he missed his mom, how she’d wrap him up in her arms to protect him from the cruelty of the world.

How she and dad tried their best despite the hand that was dealt to them by the world.

Jason is just still a little boy who craves comfort and love, he releases a whine and it’s all it takes for the blue person to wrap him up in their arms. A soft coo escaping the person who held him in their arms, cradling him like he was a baby and not a teenager. It made him giggle as the person bounced him briefly.

“Aren’t you a sweet Robin for me? Such a darling, Catherine was right about you. A sweet little Jaybird.”

Jason opened his eyes when had he closed them— to stare into the swirling green of the boy his age who gave him a sweet smile that Jason could feel his own cheeks flushing at. He rarely gets a smile like that, last time someone smiled at him like that was Rena back in school after he brought her chocolate for valentine’s day.

“Hi, do you want to come hang out with me?”

Jason shouldn’t, B’s probably looking for him and he’s got to apologize to B for running away. Then he’s gotta apologize to Alfie and and—

He takes a deep breath.

Suddenly everything he thought of fades away and all he can think about is not hurting anymore and hoping B forgives him for being stupid.

“Yeah!” Jason— Robin chirps sweetly at the boy boyghostkinghalfafriend who gives Robin a big grin as a swirling, toxic green portal opens before them and the boy takes him away in a whirlwind that causes Robin to give a shrieking laugh.

Oh poor Robin who will remain unaware of his own death for months, who will haunt the minds of Batman and Nightwing- Bruce and Dick, father and brother. Who will forever remain unaware of the grieving his family did at his death as his gets forcibly dragged away from the Ghost Zone before being dumped in the Lazarus Pit and furious.

The poor Robin who will forget his friends back in the Ghost Zone.

just for fun this time during 'sea of blood' I counted out all the venatori corpses I think we can be pretty sure were lucanis' handiwork before we show up (not including the ones he kills in his initial cutscene, and with an assumption that he's been at work mainly up and down in the areas we move through until we find him, not behind the locked door -- I think that's mostly the work of rampaging undead and other venatori-hoisted-by-their-own-petard suchlikes). can thus happily inform you lucanis has killed at least 32 venatori before rook and company get there. at least one of them he's impaled on their own weird crystal spike things the venatori mages cast as an AOE attack and that they're trying to keep him contained with when we find him. so he's clearly been keeping busy lol. that's my boy dispensing poetic justice and claiming some enrichment in his enclosure while he's at it good for him!

Yk, I hate that adaptations keep making Peter a high schooler, and not just because it means he never evolves, but because the adaptations now also include wider Marvel, whitch usually (thanks to the MCU) is at the modern day stage with legacy characters and new age teen heroes, meaning that Peter is taking up Miles' spot and you can really tell when they put him next to someone like Kamala Khan or Sam Alexander who are Miles' pals. Tho Peter taking Miles' stuff is just a modern issue overall, just look at MCU whitch just stole and re-skinned Miles' personality, characters, story-beats, even the costume to an extent and then made it worse.
