20 Question Fic Writer Tag
Hell yeah I'll play. Thanks @palfriendpatine66 :D
How many works do you have on ao3?
AO3 says ten, but one of those is a series continuation of another one, so I count it as nine...although tomorrow that will go up by one, after the reveals for the Ghost Window challenge go out.
2.) What's your ao3 word count?
Oh god. 690,376. I honestly think I was happier not knowing that fact about myself.
3.) What fandoms do you write for?
I don't multitask well. I can write Star Wars fics or I can write Star Wars fics. I haven't even ventured outside the Clone Wars era yet.
4.) What are your top five fics by kudos?
Some Technical Difficulties - big gap - Solsbury Hill - An Uncivil War - medium-sized gap - An Unlikely Duo - another gap-ish - Down by the Seaside.
5.) Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yep. I like it when authors reply to me when I leave a comment, so I try to pay it forward. Also sometimes we get into fun little side chats.
6.) What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
At the moment, not one single damn one of them. They have angst in them, but none of them end on angst. However as of about twenty-four hours from now, my answer will be, Ghost Window AU.
7.) What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Literally all of them. I'm happy to read angst, but when it comes to writing I am firmly in the happy endings camp.
8.) Do you get hate on fics?
I had some people tell me they were dropping out of Solsbury Hill because it wasn't getting to the Obikin fast enough, but I wouldn't call that hate. So, no.
(Side note, though: you don't have to tell authors that. Just delete your subscription quietly.)
But, I am also very ready to delete any and all negative comments. This is my fun side project; good vibes only.
9.) Do you write smut? If so what kind?
...pretty vanilla kind, honestly. Again, I read much more adventurously than I write. (Although, as recently as two years ago I would have said I don't write smut at all, so hit me up two years from now and maybe I'll be writing hardcore d/s, I don't know.)
10.) Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
By the strict definition, no. If you're talking 'dump Star Wars characters into settings of other movies', then hell yeah, that's kind of my jam right now. Down by the Seaside is Obikin Overboard. Next year I'm planning to publish Obikin Jurassic Park, Obikin Parent Trap, and Obikin Princess Diaries II. And I have a couple more on my to-do list.
11.) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Is this a thing I need to worry about?? Shit.
12.) Have you ever had a fic translated?
@kittonafoxgirl did a podfic of Some Technical Difficulties and it is still like one of the top five most rad things that has ever happened to me; does that count?
13.) Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
No but @fulcrum843 are currently mulling something over...
I do get a lot of help with my writing though. @piecesofeden11 basically wrote all the DnD stuff in An Unlikely Duo. I talk stuff out on Tumblr with folks all the time before I actually sit down to write it (or during, lol).
14.) What's your all time favorite ship?
I have no plans to write anything other than Obikin, and there's so much new good fic that it takes up most of my reading time as well.
15.) What's a WIP you'd like to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I wouldn't call it a WIP because there are no words on a page but I love the *idea* of a fic based on Jenn Barkley from Parks & Rec but have no idea what direction to take it and may never get to it. (If anyone wants to take this idea and run with it please do; it is very much up for grabs!)
16.) What are your writing strengths?
This is a weird thing to answer about myself but I hope I write with a sense of movement, propulsion, even a little suspense - as a reader I love to feel that I have to turn the page, I have to see what comes next, I don't want to put this fic/book down - and I try to work towards that goal in my own writing.
17.) What are your writing weaknesses?
Getting bogged down in details. It drives me crazy in movies when characters have these huge mansions but seemingly never go to work and somehow this has translated into me being incapable of just writing a smutty one-shot or whatever because what is everyone's job and how much is their mortgage payment and do they get paid on Fridays or Mondays and how many bedrooms does that apartment have.
18.) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
See answer above about over-complicating things: I came up with this whole system for An Uncivil War for whether I'm writing out the dialogue in a language other than Basic (I feel like we really only have enough information for me to be able to do this in Huttese and Mando'a, and even then only short conversations in certain subjects), or simply noting that a character is saying something in another language ("he said in Ryl" or whatever), or mixing Basic and a word/words in another language within the same sentence. It was important to me to capture that multilingualism, but it's also a lot of work, ngl.
19.) First fandom you wrote for?
Technically Johnlock but I never finished/published anything.
20.) Favorite fic you've ever written?
I love all my babies equally, she lied.
It's the Can't Stop the Suns series, which is An Uncivil War, Pick Up the Pieces (more than halfway completed), and Sometimes Fate Steps In (loosely outlined). Sometimes I'll just look over my notes and get giddy about how much good stuff I'm packing in there and how much *more* good stuff I haven't even gotten to yet. I'm throwing the kitchen sink of stuff I love at it. Even if the final version doesn't quite live up to the vision I see in my head (it rarely does), as long as I get close I'll be happy.
I tag @piecesofeden11, @underacalicosky, @fulcrum843, and, as usual, anyone else who feels up for it!

20 Questions for Fic Writers!
Thank you for the tags @suspendingtime, @colettebronte and @fayes-fics 💙 Following Faye's lead and answering while inebriated 😅 Saturday night fam...
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
24 thus far. I should toss LMBYA on there - I think it may be well received.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
144,232
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Just Bridgerton. It's the only thing that has stirred my soul to write for since I was a teenager...
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
On AO3:
Love to Spare  135
Young at Heart 128
Touch 126
A Brother's Love 122
Willow Bark 98
Tumblr notes:
Still Going 1730
Touch (my next top 5 are the Touch series at 3777 cumulatively)
Locked Out 417
Gala 395
Young At Heart 300
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Absolutely. Every single comment gets a response because that level of engagement from readers deserves celebration and recognition. It makes my heart soar.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
LOL HAVE YOU MET ME? I have something of a reputation... But if I had to pick, I'd say Number Ten and I'll Be Seeing You rank as my top angstiest endings for A & B Bridgerton respectively.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Hmmm. Young At Heart was for sure the fluffiest thing I've ever written. But I have a soft spot for the tooth-rotting sweetness of Two Lines and A Special Day.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Fortunately no. I haven't encountered any negativity for my fics yet. The Bridgerton fan community has been lovely.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do, but I don't feel that it's my strong suit. It started just for Benophie but I have branched into x Reader. I don't think I'm great at it. I prefer to write whump and angst.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
No, no real crossovers. I enjoy AUs that dip into vampire/zombie/apocalypse territory though. My friend suggested I combine my fixations and have the Bridgertons discover a portal to Middle Earth in their hedgerow 😅 Let the madness begin...
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I think so. I granted permission for a fic to be translated into French.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not officially, but I have had such fun brainstorming and workshopping fic ideas with my mutuals. I wouldn't have written half as much as I have if it weren't for them.💙
14. What’s your all-time favourite ship?
Benophie is my OTP, obvi.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
WOOF. I have 17 WIPs. I'd say the most at risk is a concept for Anthony on each of his siblings' wedding days. I have to read all the Bridgerton novels to finish this one, and that's a tall ask.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think I'm aight at conveying emotion. Feels are kinda my game - good and bad.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Writing TOO much about feelings 😜 I skew verbose and can get wordy as fuck because I'm trying so hard to paint a very precise picture. I always have to remind myself to reel it in so readers aren't bogged down.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I have sprinkled some French for Benophie and Tamil for Kanthony into my stories. Just little phrases that I always research thoroughly.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
First ever? X-Men 😋 I was 12. The first film came out. I was a goner for Wolverine...
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
Guh, they are all like children to me. But my heart is drawn to my multichapter character stories. Let Me Be Your Anchor is the first Bridgerton fic I started writing and the only one I ever intended to. It's novel length and will be my greatest accomplishment. A Brother's Love was the first fic I actually finished and has the most soul in it IMO. Then I see Willow Bark as my most clever 'fix it' story - if the show could adopt my ideas on that one I think we'd all win 😉
Everyone I know has already been tagged so - just here to share 💙

Got tagged by @queenofbaws like 6 seconds ago to do this thing and because I'm currently trying SUPER hard to stay awake for at least another three hours to get me back on a 'normal' sleep schedule for the next week and a half, we're doing this shit now! ...and also because if I don't do it now then I'll just forget about it and never do it asjdhkjahsdkjs
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
59! Not a bad total all things considered 😤
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
337,514. That's an average of 5,720 words per fic btw akjdshjkahsd
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Until Dawn mostly. Got a decent amount of Tales of Phantasia stuff as well as a lot of ideas for it but cause that fandom is even deader than ud's, I never actually write any of it lmao
4. Top five fics by kudos
Valentine's Day Prompts (crossed out because while it's *technically* my highest I do not count it for the sole reason that like literally not even ten minutes after I uploaded it I got like 50+ guest kudos all at once so those are clearly bots and the correct kudos count is probably somewhere between 20 and 30 lol) What I actually consider my top five fics by kudos are:
The Final Days of Our Youth
More Than Worth It (though considering it was posted only barely a week after the vday prompts the kudos may be a bit suspect here as well 🤔)
Nothing and Nobody But You
The Sound of Silence
Baby It's Cold Outside (so hold me tight in your arms and don't let go)
5. Do you respond to comments?
I did/do. And by that I mean I love to, but the last couple of years I've been letting the few I've gotten pile up due to not being in a good headspace to answer/I've just been really busy at that exact moment. Which is important, cause if I don't have the time to respond then and there, I will just keep forgetting to reply. Which is how I've reached the point where I have almost 2 year old comments that I want to respond to but I feel like shit answering them now 2 years later, and let me tell you the feeling does NOT get any less guilty the longer I wait to respond aksjdhkajsdhjk
(maybe I should use this time to answer them while I try to stay awake lmao)
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Hmmmm. I mean, technically the one I'm writing now? It's probably between Winter is Death and Not Only Monsters Hide Under the Bed where one fic involves Hannah slowly losing her free will as she spends a year with the Makkapitew taking over her body and the other is about a little girl hiding from the people sent to kill her village but being found and killed just before her brother got home to save her.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
...Somehow, this is the harder of the two to answer aksdjkjahsdkjashd uh.... pretty much any chrashley focus fic where the ending involves them actually confessing and getting together I guess? But if I have to chose one, I think The Final Days of Our Youth cause it's chrashley confessing and getting together, but also repairing their friendship that Chris very nearly torpedoed cause he's an avoidant moron.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Surprisingly no! Thankfully anyone who does not like the ships I write for does not read my fics and thus does not leave comments. And if there us people out there who just do not vibe with my writing style (understandable) they've just clicked back and not responded either.
9. Do you write smut?
Once! I did it once and only once because I just really, really wanted to read about an awkward and clumsy first time between Chris and Ashley and that, uh, did not exist. So I (unfortunately for everyone lol) took it upon myself to write it. That being said, because it is smut, it is unsurprisingly the one fic I can always count on getting a new kudos or bookmark on every now and then.
And I will probably never write another one again sorry not sorry lol.
10. Craziest crossover?
I mean the only crossovers I've ever done is my Outlast au stuff but I don't really consider that a 'crazy' crossover lol.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of! Like I'm not even sure that they've been scrapped by AI sites. Not sure why anyone would want to steal my fics in the first place though honestly.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I mean, no one's ever asked so I assume not? If they did though than all the power to them.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nope! Never been asked and never asked anyone lol.
14. All time favourite ship?
I mean, Chris/Ashley easily, though Chris/Josh/Ashley is a *very* close second lol. (Chester/Arche is also a very close third but no one other than me here knows who they even are so askldjaslkdjsa)
15. What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Oh god, the actual main outlast au fic that really delves into how the initial prank on Hannah snowballed into climbing chrash being thrust into experiencing the events of the Outlast video game. Except that's not a wip I've even started despite all the notes and timelines in my head 😭
16. What are your writing strengths?
I do think dialogue is my strongest strength personally. I think it flows fairly naturally, to the point where I've sometimes gotten stuck on a scene and switching over to some dialogue either earlier on or just throwing a line in randomly will just unstick *something* in the brain and my creativity output stops being a blockage and returns to it's trickle aksjdhaskdhj
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Literally everything else? Descriptions. I just feel like I can't describe things very well and so I'm always worried that my writing tends to read flat because of it.
Also, due to being told that I'm a waste of space, stupid, ugly, blah blah blah by like 99% of my classmates from like grade 1 to grade 9 my self-esteem when it comes to shit like this is unsurprisingly pretty fucking abysmal! So every time I go to post something new I spend way too long hovering over that upload button convinced that this is the fic that will convince everyone that I'm actually a terrible writer and they won't like me anymore lol
18. Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
Never had to use it before myself but it's neat when done... not right or well but, like, done to achieve something you've planned out. I'm not sure what ways I would use it myself, I think it would depend on what use I need it to have in the story itself.
19. First fandom you wrote in?
Oh Class of the Titans easy. Inuyasha is where I discovered fanfiction, but CotT is what inspired me to try it out for myself (my first attempt was uh, not great aksdjklasjdlkasj)
20. Favorite fic you've written?
Oh god, there's a tough question lol. Uh, probably between Baby It's Cold Outside (so hold me tight in your arms and don't let go) and Artificial though. Both are my babies, but Baby It's Cold Outside is the fic that finally started me writing again regularly since middle school after a like almost ten year drought. And Artificial is the one where I finally got to really sink my teeth into what makes my outlast au actually outlast and really get to experience a bunch of shit I had never really written before (torture (physical and psychological), whump, body trauma) and it turns out it was a lot of fun sdlkajsldkjaslkdj
Oh god I have to tag people to do this now don't I? Uhhhhh, @chris-hartley, @icequeen-07, @hannahwashington, @eurazba but if there's anyone else who follows me that wants to do this than please by all means go ahead! Share your work with the rest of us 💖

[20 Question Fic Writer Tag]
Hey, I got tagged twice. Thanks @yourfavoritefridge and @miserableandmagical94! <3
How many works do you have on AO3? Only nine, ten tomorrow, but I feel like I'm a n00b as I just got back into writing fic this past spring.
What is your AO3 word count? 376,550
What fandoms do you write for? Mainly Star Wars. I'm kind of obsessed at the moment. Like, I've gone down the SW rabbit hole and I kinda love it here.
What are your top five fics by kudos? Asphodel: 168 The Echo and the Stain: 50 Peace: 42 Hard Candy: 25 La Cantina de Bloomita: 21
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I totally do. I cherish every kudos, every bookmark, every subscription, and every comment on my stories, because no one is obligated to interact at all. The fact that people take the time to do it? I want you to know I see you and I appreciate you. You could be doing a billion other things with your spare time, but you chose to read my new chapter? and then you took the time to tell me what you thought?! I adore you.
What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? In Vain. Obi-Wan goes to Kalevala in search of something to feel close to Satine in the wake of Order 66. I remember writing it and being like, "Well, this is fucking depressing."
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Peace. Satine gives birth to Korkie with Obi-Wan right there with her, and it's just fluff and love and newborn baby sweetness.
Do you get hate on fics? Occasionally, I get some kind of comment that implies that I have grossly misunderstood the Obi-Wan/Satine characters, and I just shrug it off. Some people don't like my version of their year on the run because they're annoying eighteen year olds, and I suppose all of us were our best selves at 18? And some of the feedback I've heard on Asphodel makes it sound like I've turned Satine into a Space Thot or something, like she's DTF with everyone in the galaxy. For the most part, though, the feedback I've gotten is amazing, so I keep doing what I'm doing.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Yes, I dabble in the smut. In Asphodel, it's very much a romantic thing. There's occasionally a little bit of gratuitous smut, but I'd say 95% of the time, the smut scenes are pivotal to the story and give you more insight into their characters and how emotionally tied to one another they are. Maybe I could illustrate those emotional ties through dangerous experiences, but that's what I'm doing in my year on the run story, so.. romantic sex it is. ;)
Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? I haven't attempted this yet. I feel like my brain would explode if I tried a crossover.
Have you ever had a fic stolen? No, and I fear this ever happening. I'm mean and vindictive. My Aries moon is a bitch.
Have you ever had a fic translated? No, but this would be so cool. What a huge compliment, right?
Have you ever cowritten a fic before? Nope, haven't done this yet, but I'd be open to it in the future.
What's your all-time favorite ship? It's a tie between Steggy (MCU) and Obitine (SW). I'll just admit this right here and right now, at the end of Endgame, I sobbed. For two hours. TWO HOURS. My husband has video of me in the car leaving the theater and I'm crying like a crazy person because Steggy got their happy ending. I was so deep into that "doomed by the narrative" ship that I never thought it would happen, so when it did, I basically lost my mind and embarrassed myself in front of all our friends. But I own it. I will love them forever. I'm almost as crazy over Obitine.
What's a WIP you'd like to finish but doubt you ever will? Shhh, don't say that. I'm finishing them all.
What are your writing strengths? I'm really not sure. I mean, I like my writing. I like my stories. I write for me, so it's all good. Someone wanna tell me what my strengths are? Maybe it's the details. I think I'm detail oriented.
What are your writing weaknesses? I'm long winded. If I could cut my chapters back to 3K words a piece, I think my stories would hit a wider audience and I would probably sleep better at night, but c'est la vie.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? Never say never, but it's unlikely. For me to sit and try to figure out the linguistics of Mando'a alone, look, I'm old. I got 2 kids. I'm a class mom. I have a job. I have a caffeine dependency. I have migraines. I'll leave that to the pros. I'm just over here fucking around trying to let Obi-Wan and Satine have a few orgasms and some romance before the galaxy goes to shit around them, y'know?
First fandom you wrote for? Ever?! I used to write Hanson fics when I was in middle school with an Angelcities website, and I was in a little online club called Hanson Hoes. "Do not cite the deep magic to me, witch. I was there when it was written." (Aside from that, definitely SW.)
Favorite fic you've ever written? It's gonna be Asphodel. It's my baby. I love it so much and I'm so proud of it.
Now, for who to tag.. here we go! @jelly-opal and @scottysketches! (If you've already done this, please disregard. My bad.)

AO3 tag game \o/ !!!
thank youuu for tagging me @ragecndybars !!! best of luck with your wips ^_^ !!!!!!!!! without further ado ...
How many works do you have on AO3? 103 !! \o/ !!! i hit the 100 mark just at the end of december .. and then didn't post all january lol ^_^
What's your total AO3 word count? only 97,635 ! pretty unsurprising, everything i write tends to be a oneshot, and very short oneshots at that ! not even an average of 1000 words per fic though ehehe ; ; !
How many fandoms have you written for, and what are they? 33 ! ofc this is only ao3's number, some of these count for the same fic being tagged with multiple series tags, but (ignoring my .. eugh ... 6 2020 original work posts i refuse to look at ...) my top fandoms are: persona 3 [40] , persona 5 [15] , trauma center [8] , persona 4 [6] , pokemon [5] ! wow ... i'm honestly surprised, but i feel like i shouldn't be ^_^;;
Top five fics by kudos: all of these are from over three years ago, so i don't remember them very well ^_^;; and i'm kind of scared to reread them now, but here goes: we won't slip through your fingers - 763 kudos ! a cute p5 found family fic with akira, sojiro and futaba ^_^ i still see this pop up in my daily kudos email every so often ! it seems like the type of thing i like reading myself for p5, so i'm not surprised :p Indistinct and Incomprehensible - 515 kudos ! another p5 sakura family fic (sensing a theme?) but this time interrogation room flavoured ! i've always loved the interrogation room hook, probably because i'm such a huge fan of whump fic ^_^;; i'll never forget when a friend excitedly messaged me saying she was about to send me a great interrogation room fic .. only to realise it was mine :p The Days When My Father's Here - 402 kudos ! another- I PROMISE I DON'T ONLY WRITE P5 SAKURA FAMILY FIC LOL ...! cute and short, a shortcake biscuit of a read imo :3c (he left the town long before) yet his house is still standing in the same place - 400 kudos ! akira talking tatsujun ... i've always liked this premise, even as i tend to lean into the angstier side of p2 nowadays ^_^ but no matter what, i have always been a long title connoisseur ... i hope it's toned down in recent years ehehe ! Unconventional Naming Ceremony - 275 kudos ! yeah ... the truth come out ... i used to be a huge fan of the sonic movie >_< i was literally on the phone to my friend the other day getting bullied about how much i used to like it lol !!!!!!! they didn't even know me then ... c'mon ... i hope this is a cute fic. i'm too scared to touch it. lol.
Do you respond to comments? i try to as much as i can !!! sometimes i forget, and sometimes i just don't have anything i might want to say other than thank you for commenting, but all of them mean so much to me ^_^ rereading comments is probably about 40% of my fuel ehehe
What's the fic with the angstiest ending you've ever written? wow ...! that's difficult ! even though i write lots of angsty fic, i am a freak who can find joy in anything. the jolliest guy you could say. a mochizuki fan, possibly. in recent memory, i'd say disappearance, an alien heart beat ... even shorter than usual, but miserable the whole way through . ryoji and minato sit in a room and don't say anything. yaaaay ! (fun fact! it is partially based on a feeling i used to get when me and my ex used to sit in my room with the lights off but the tv on standby, because the overhead light was too harsh. i love watching people move under light; i love the sound of electronics that have been on for too long)
Do you write crossovers? not really ?! they're fun for crackfics, but i don't really honestly explore them that often. maybe i should !
Have you ever gotten hate on a fic? i .... don't think so ! i used to get hate anons when i was younger + stupider because i was quite literally asking for it -_-;; but rage -> if you see this, that zelda comment screenie you posted made me laugh for literally ten minutes [link]
Do you write smut? i would really like to !!!!!!! but i'm so shy >_< !!! but also i worry .. i did once, for OCs of mine, and sent it to a friend ... who immediately sent back laughing that it was 98% inner monologue, 2% actual smut .. which tracks for me lol !
Have you ever had a fic stolen? i sure hope not !
Have you ever had a fic translated? YES !!!!!!! it's always been my dream ^_^ !!! and just this year i had and then he looked right through me, as if i wasn't there translated into russian by a very kind regular commenter !!! if you see this: thank you so much, it means the world to me !!! apparently it was for a friend of theirs, who is a new fan of p3 due to the widespread translations of reload, and they really liked it ^_^ it makes me so happy to think that reload can really extend p3's reach and even more people can get a chance to experience it ...
What’s your all-time favorite ship? ryomina ofc ^_^;; ! kind of topical, but i recently scored the old kotobukiya minato figure that came with the episode "luck" drama cd ! i'll never stop talking about it, but reading episode luck's translations on the gekkouhigh livejournal is what made me love ryomina, and cemented my love of p3 as a whole ... such sweet memories ehehe
What’s a WIP that you want to finish, but don’t think you ever will? mostly things that were born of a specific emotion i was feeling when i drafted it, and don't really want to feel again if i can help it, or at least on purpose. it makes me pretty sad that i feel some of my most impactful work has come out of me feeling ... well, pretty sad ! so i just work harder every day to write just as well, if not better, than things i've written in that state :]
What are your writing strengths? aaa ... i think i'm good at laying running metaphors in a fic (which i love hearing when @p3ta says them back to me ^_^ !!!!!!!!!!!!) if that makes sense ?!?! probably because i love edgar wright movies .. callback fan writes callbacks eternally like the ouroboros lol :p i'm sisyphean !
What are your writing weaknesses? i need to buckle down and write longer fics goddamn it !!!!!!!!!! my latest work, the best beast ever is a boy you know, is also my longest work to date, at a measly 3,657 words. but i love it so much, and it's so amazing what i can do with just 2000 words more than i'm used to ! hopefully i can keep it up ^_^
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fics? it's interesting, and really enjoyable when done well (looking at some bebe writers tbh !!!!!) ... buuut, of course, it can also fall flat ! kind of related, but the closest i've ever gotten to something like this is using japanese honorifics . i know it's a little divisive, but i like it a lot when used responsibly (as i try to) ^_^;; ! overuse of stuff like -sama totally makes me feel like i'm about to tab into ouran high school host club part 1 of 13 on youtube though lol
What was the first fandom you ever wrote for? gravity falls, on a long abandoned ff.net account ! you know i was one of those guys writing it directly into the post box :]
What’s your favorite fic you’ve written so far? it's cheating, but i have two and an honourable mention. i am so happy to have returned to writing persona 3 fic ... it is one of my favourite things ^_^ first of all: alone but sane . alone but sane could be considered my magnum opus so to speak lol ... it is just one of those ideas that is so perfect. i don't know ... i am in many ways my own biggest fan. i do ofc owe my inspiration for it to @mymp3, the best messiah recipe 2008 attendee ^_^ i am so glad we're friends now :p second of all: when you're hollowed out and empty !!!! i hope to write many more fuuka and ryoji fics this year . she is so kind and so reaching in her kindness ... i aim to be more like her ..! fuuka asks, "i wonder what ryoji's doing... do you think he's still crying, like before?" and i write and write and write at last .. my honourable mention! my only zombieland saga fic, and you don't seem to understand (a shame, you seemed an honest man) .. i don't have anything to say here .. zls is a tragedy . to me
again, thanks for tagging me \o/ !!! this is ofc open to anyone who might want to play !!!! i hope you're all having a nice day :]c

20 questions for fic writers
tagged by @yee-hawlw
1. how many works do you have on ao3?
208!
2. what's your total ao3 wordcount?
524,331
3. what fandoms do you write for?
top five would be warriors, moon knight, star trek, overwatch, and homestuck. i haven't posted anything for overwatch or homestuck in AGES tho, and i've got a good number of fic plans for fandoms i've never posted for. i just like to be complicated like that ig.
4. what are your top five fics by kudos?
burned off the tapestry; drarry. written in high school.
ashes; squirrelflight/ashfur. in dear deserving of an update. i'll get there. eventually.
if i ever get the nerve to say hello; k/s accidentally secret relationship where uhura thinks she's dating spock.
better left unsaid; po3 slight-crack about everyone knowing the three aren't biologically squirrelflight's.
a cool summer night (and this sweet breeze); some hollywillow/kestreljay nonsense. can't believe this one is in my top 5. i don't even ship kestreljay. i don't even LIKE kestreljay. it's only in this fic because the premise required it.
5. do you respond to comments? why or why not?
i try, but not very often. honestly sometimes i forget, sometimes i'm busy, sometimes it's just too much. basically all my fics have moderated comments because i have had Issues with commentors in the past, but. i collect the comments in my inbox and love them very mcuh.
6. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
oof, tough question. i'm gonna go with "anything at all," which uh. ends with a mother finding her teenage daughter dead by drug overdose. i don't think it's my best work, i wrote it when i was like 15, but it's probably the worst ending.
7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
oh shit i have to go thru all my fics again? damn. this is easier and harder than the previous one. i like to write happy endings! i prefer it! but i limited myself to only fics with happy endings, not, like. fluff pieces that are all happy. and with that, i'm gonna go with "i see the moonlight steal across your sheets." yes, it is the daddy kink tigerdove one, but it has a very happy ending with very little bittersweet.
runners up include: "a firefly is forever (you know my answer)", "a tree called life," and "it's mere assignment."
8. do you get hate on fic?
rarely. in my inbox is more common. i moderate comments for a reason tho LOL.
i think people on ao3 are much less likely to have problems with me because things are always tagged and warned for. you can't really go into a fic from me and not know what you're getting into.
9. do you write smut?
yes, but i haven't finished anything to publish. which is funny. because i write a lot of smut. [i do have one explicit fic, but. it's not smut.]
10. do you write crossovers?
my first ever fic (written and posted when i was ten) was a crossover. other than that...i write fusions, sometimes. i have a warriors & night circus crossover which is a proper crossover but doesn't really engage with the world as a crossover, if that makes sense. they're not really my thing tho.
11. have you ever had a fic stolen?
not that i remember? i think i've had to address people over copied paragraphs, but i don't think i remember the details of that. it could've been me noticing someone else's work being copied.
12. have you ever had a fic translated?
yes! and it was very kind of the person who did so.
13. have you ever co-written a fic before?
...it's complicated.
i'm working on a co-written fic rn tho.
14. what's your all-time favorite ship?
character named james who goes by something else X guy who is constantly getting into situations.
(not really a joke, three of my favorite tags on ao3 fit this description. house/wilson, k/s, steve/bucky.)
15. what's a WIP you want to finish but probably won't?
ohf, i'll admit it here ig. i have a shrewsquirrel piece, "waiting for me in some unholy sunlight," that i really adore. but uh the ending. it ends in a bittersweet way, and uh. well. the ending i had planned ended up more-or-less happening irl. so. i can't. i just can't.
16. what are your writing strengths?
tenacity. lol. uh, i think i'm good at description when i let myself get into it. and i think i'm good at like. the structural elements of writing.
17. what are your writing weaknesses?
actually fucking finishing things. and. i've gotten a lot better at it, but i still struggle to keep a balance between narration and dialogue. sometimes it feels like there are pages between two sentences in a conversation.
18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?
goddamn this is something i've done. i think i've mentioned most of the fics involving this here also. okay. so. i'm going to answer with what i do, because there's not, like, one right solution to this. what i prefer to do is keep everything in english, and use dialogue tags to specify what language is being spoken. however, if it's a single word, or a specific phrase, i might keep it in the original language, for flavor/"it's a concept that doesn't translate well."
i have written a fic with sentences in spanish, and i took a long time to make hover translations work, except it doesn't have accents because to this day i can't figure out how to make it work. sobbing and crying etc.
i don't think i would do that with a language i didn't know. in that case, the character being latina was important to how i wanted to angle the story, so it made sense. i'm not sure if i'd do that in a different situation?
basically i play things very by ear. if i was writing a physical book with pages, i would use footnotes fairly heavily, but it's not the same on ao3. you have to lose your place to check a footnote. like, even if it's linked back to the spot (which, y'know, i would do, now that i know how to make footnotes), it jars you a bit.
19. first fandom you wrote for?
i'll give you half the cross over, MLP:FIM
20. favorite fic you've written?
that would be telling ;3
tagging @kudossi, @creed-of-cats, and @secondyearpigeon, with no pressure. anyone else who wants to is welcome <3

20 Questions for Fic Writers
I was tagged by @runninriot to do this!! Thank you for the tag <333
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
7!
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
189,187! Which has all been since August 2022! I've never written this much in my life, it's kinda wild.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Just Stranger Things right now! Though I could see myself getting back to writing for ATLA (especially with the new show coming out).
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
An Exercise In Denial
Now I'm A Stranger
Paint The Devil On The Wall (my BigBang fic!)
Conversations About Love
Girls On The Ceiling
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes! Whenever I can! I'm so behind right now, though, but I'll get back to everyone soon!!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
One I haven't published yet! It's my first non happy ending. It's called Keep Me Company and I'm hoping to get it all up before the end of the year! All the others have pretty happy endings, so I couldn't really pick any of those.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
They've all got happy endings so far, but Conversations About Love has my happy ending to beat all happy endings. It's queer platonic joy through and through <33
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not so far, thank god!!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Only very recently! I'm still geting in the swing of it, but having a really good time with it so far! Though I did learn through writing some steddie sex scenes for PTDOTW that I much prefer writing WLW smut. It comes a lot more naturally to me.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Nope, don't think I ever would.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
No :)
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No! Doubt I'd be good at that. I write non chronologically and without a plan in advance so I think I'd probably be a nightmare to work with lol
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Oh Steddie is probably pretty high up there. Might be the recency bias speaking though.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Hmmm.... Don't have any right now I think? At least not ones I think I won't finish.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I love writing narrative summary?? Give me a couple hundred words to describe or summarize like a whole summer and I'll be golden :) I love picking out super specific details to get a point across without having to say too much.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Descriptions of facial expressions and body language. I feel like my characters are only ever frowning or raising an eyebrow or sighing and stuff. Really hard to keep that varied and interesting!! I also really really struggly with endings. I think I've gotten better at it lately, but it takes a lot of conscious effort (and a lot of stress lol)
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Never done it!
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Oh boy think that may have been Haikyu!! Actually? Like ten years ago on and old AO3 account. All of it very self inserty and angsty. Can't remember much about it it either.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
Conversations About Love is really special to me because I don't see a lot of aro rep and writing it myself was actually quite a healing experience. The comments I've gotten on that fic are really special to me and I read through them a lot.
(will tag @devondespresso @hotluncheddie @eddieseyelashes but obviously no pressure <3)

ten books to get to know me
Thanks for the tag @wolfpants!! And @consistentsquash!! :D
Tagging: @perverse-idyll, @writcraft, @lizzy0305, @arrisha-ao3, @liladiurne, @bluesundaycake, @cindle-writes, @ripeteeth, @givereadersahug, @broomsticks, @charlotterhea, @ashesandhackles, @teacup-tai, @sugareey-makes-stuff, @mrviran, @yletylyf ....no pressure! Apologies if you've already been tagged or done this! And if you've not been tagged and want to play along, go ahead and consider yourself tagged!
Under the cut cuz LONG. (Y'all know I like to talk.)
The Harry Potter series
....I'm in the HP fandom, so that's probably 0 surprise. Also feels icky due to being written by Terf McTerfington. Buuuuuut. Well. The universe needs balance and HP's power was so great it could only be stopped by Great Evil, or so I like to tell myself.
The series was published in the U.S. when I was 7. I was already a big reader. I was a big reader from the moment I could read at all. But HP was the first series I fell well and truly in love with. I discovered fanfiction at 11, and started writing it at 13. The story and this fandom were there through the worst moments of my life. I'm not sure it will ever not be important to me.
The Percy Jackson series (Rick Riordan)
Honestly, I can't lie, I'm a big sucker for kids' books. They're just fun, dang it. Great literature? No. But I don't read to impress, I read to have a good time, and Percy Jackson is a good time. Also all the related series. Magnus Chase? Trials of Apollo? The Kane Chronicles? Yes yes yes BRING THEM TO ME.
There's a Potter-esque feel to the PJO series. Dark haired green eyed hero who didn't know he had magical abilities? Also the Cabins make me think of the Houses, even though it's more parentage than traits. It's a vibe, okay? And on top of that...mythology???? I'm a big ole mythology nerd, especially for Greek mythology. And let me tell you, I inhaled those books. And I still love them a lot, actually.
The Twilight series (Stephenie Meyer)
To round out the list of "stories Little Danni loved" is Twilight. Yes, I was a Twi-hard in junior high and high school. What's funny is all the modern "this is problematic because Edward is stalking Bella, and also he's a vampire and immortal and there's an age gap!" jabbering is probably what sold me on the story to begin with. Listen: I like what I like, okay? Also: vampire + human? Does that count as monsterfucking? Idk but it's at least different species which ticks some boxes, okay?
Honestly everyone talking about how effed up Twilight is was just a lightbulb moment for me of like "oh. No wonder I was so into it."
Twilight also played a role in my writing journey! In high school I joined a Twilight themed RPG site on proboards. I created a mega evil vampire named Danna Deville, whose face cast was Hayden Panettierre. This weirdly made me super popular because no one else was creating/playing villainous characters. Let me tell you, it did loads for my self esteem. Also it's funny to think about all those old friendships born of "hey let's RP together. I really want your character to torture my character."
Mistborn (Brandon Sanderson)
This one I have big opinions on. On the one hand, I really enjoy Brandon Sanderson's stories. On the other hand, while his magic systems are often highly praised, I hate them. Hate, loathe, and despise them. I'll not say more than that. I don't like to hate on things. And my partner really loves Brandon Sanderson and his magic systems. (I'm just over here muttering about "they eat metal" and have to actively not think about it.) It's just not my jam. I much prefer softer magic systems. Hard magic systems tend to throw me a bit. But Brandon Sanderson sure knows how to tell a story, dang it. He's super creative and smart and has these big sweeping ideas, with all these twists and turns! His worldbuilding is also insanely good.
Mistborn (Era 1) is probably my favorite of his works. One as an overall story (Vin, my love!) But also the connection to my Eddie.
You see, when my partner and I first met, it was in the book section of an entertainment store. Where we stood in the aisles and talked for hours. My very first impression was "who is this goofy man?" and I left the interaction fully smitten. And anxious, awkward lady that I am, my grand plan was to read the books he'd been raving about to have something to talk about. Idle chit chat? No can do. Book talk? That I can do! So I read Mistborn, for a start. Then worked my way through other book recommendations. And now that goofy nerd is mine. All's well that ends well!
The Wheel of Time series (Robert Jordan, Brandon Sanderson)
Once I worked my way through Brandon Sanderson's books, I moved onto The Wheel of Time, which was much more up my alley! I could not put those books down. (At least until I hit The Slog, at which point I still couldn't put them down, but I was mostly charging through waiting for it to get good again.) This was also the first time I tried to not look up spoilers before reading a book. (Blasphemy, I know, blah blah. Look: I have anxiety. Spoilers make my life easier and happier, okay?) Eddie is very staunchly anti-spoiler, so I did my best to try a spoiler-free experience. I made it most of the way through. Towards the end I accidentally spoiled myself on a big event. It was a bit foolishly done but I'd consulted google to refresh my memory on an event from an earlier book, and my Google excursions warned me of a few deaths ahead of time. Whoops. On the whole, though, me making it 10+ books with no spoilers was pretty dang impressive.
Also the book series is great. And I'm side-eying the show a bit. Just a little bit.
(Bonus: the band Blind Guardian has a song called "Wheel of Time" about the books and it's 10/10. At least if you like symphonic metal, which I do.) (Oh, "Ride Into Obsession" from the same album is also WoT inspired.)
Flowers in the Attic series (V. C. Andrews)
The fact that I read this series as a child might explain a lot. Also you should know my mother gave me these books to read. Child abuse, forced imprisonment, murder, and incest? Sign me up! It's all sortsa messed up and dark and to this day it's still my # 1 guilty pleasure series. I like...just don't care. You can tell me how badly written it is or how problematic it is, I don't care. This is the book equivalent to eating a whole bag of Flamin' Hot Cheetos while watching true crime videos. This is indulgence, my friends. I'm having a great time, please leave me in peace.
Till We Have Faces (C. S. Lewis)
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Idk what to say other than this book is perfect, I will hear no slander against it, and I really need to reread it, like, ASAP. Another link to Greek mythology this one. Also: I really love Orual.
(Does anyone wanna read/reread it with me? Lmk.)
The Song of Achilles (Madeline Miller)
Gorgeous, amazing, perfect, wonderful. Patroclus/Achilles forever. Ouch my heart. God it's beautiful. MORE GREEK MYTHOLOGY OF COURSE. Also all of Madeline Miller's stuff is stellar. (Circe and Galatea!!!! Read those, too!!!!) I have every feeling on planet earth about this one.
Widecare trilogy (Phillippa Gregory)
Beatrice Lacey is wonderful and amazing and also really messed up in the head. Historical fiction. Little Beatrice is in love with her family's land, Wideacre. And is HORRIFIED and OFFENDED when she realizes that, as a girl, she will not only not inherit, but will have to leave one day???? Cuz as a lady it is her purpose in life to get married and pop out babies???? But Beatrice is ambitious, clever, manipulative, and passionate and she doesn't let lady parts or the patriarchy keep her down!! And by that, she goes to rather dark and taboo extremes. Which I admire and respect. (I grew up watching horror films and reading darkfic. Trust me, I was having a great time with this story.)
Wuthering Heights (Emily Bronte)
I stg this book gets no respect. Is this a really toxic, dysfunctional romance? Absolutely. What else do you want in a story???? Oh OBSESSIVE, PASSIONATE, UNDYING LOVE??? GOT THAT, TOO. This book lives in my heart and soul. I can fully quote Heathcliff's speech to Catherine ("I cannot life without my life, I cannot live without my soul") on demand. I have read this book to death, through resurrection, and back to death.
...also it's hella Snarry, isn't it? That explains a lot.
(Also shoutout to other teenage obsessions: The Hunger Games and Divergent. Also the Three Dark Crowns series???? Loved that. Hannibal???? Yes please. Dan Brown's Robert Langdon series??? MORE! Oh and R.L. Stein's The Nightmare Room were the books of my childhood. Oh! Oh oh! And another thing! The Wonder by Emma Donoghue????? Incredible. Blow my mind. Oh and She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb is another case of "this is a very dark messed up story that a family member gave me that I inhaled because I really liked messed up stuff, actually.") (Is this cheating? Probably. But I've been a major bookworm since words even made sense to me, please cut a gal some slack.) (Please don't judge me.)

Something nice that happened to me!
So on Friday we did a presentation with my class, the scenes we've been working on for the last months. The school printed some posters - and well, I changed my name with the front desk and my teachers but never did so with the administration because it's only ever used in private emails that I'll be the only one to see so I don't really care.
But the posters, they were printed by the administration, so my deadname was there, plastered on the front door and I flipped when I saw it. No one else had read it or noticed, because honestly we had other shit to do, so lucky me, and I just. I tried to calm down and I saw that wasn't gonna work nicely. And I thought fuck it. Fuck it, I'm scared and shocked and there's nobody here who isn't on my side so I'll process this as I can, and I asked for help with making a sticker with my name to put over the deadname, and I got all the help I needed and I told them 'hey I'm feeling like shit so my top priority right now is calming down', not even in so many words, and they made arrangements and helped me so I could get a ten minutes break to go for a smoke before I needed to be on stage for dress rehearsal. Passing by the front desk, first I tried to say something and realized I was just gonna scream so I gave up. I calmed down a bit. Walking by the front desk again I explained tersely, and the guy was sorry for me and offered to take care of it for me right now and I said I didn't have the time and would do it later myself, he already had a phone in hand, but I insisted I'd do it, so he apologized on the admin's behalf saying it sucked and I went back to work. Two minutes later I was on stage screaming and it was nice. And when I came out of stage a friend took me by the hand and showed me the poster. Reprinted with the correct name. And everyone was with me, ready to be helpful or supportive or angry on my behalf, whatever was needed, and like.
I'm quite a sensitive person. I'm the bitch that gets anxious, panic attacks over the place, tearing up and all that, and I used to hate being the one that has to be taken care of. But I take care of people, too, and now that I am better in general, it's good to have an awful moment and realize 'yeah this bad emotion is strong and it's not gonna disappear if i just hide it and other people will see it anyway and they care so i can just let the emotion rage and pass and trust them to react sanely'.
And the other day, the girl that had the poster reprinted, she's really more used to taking care of people than she is used to be taken care of. It breaks my heart at times, and I do my best (as a lot of us do) to offer support whenever we can. Well some awful shit happened to her and she flipped. I had never seen her cry at all, let alone like that. Upset and hurt and we were with her through it, and she kept saying we could go do better stuff. And apologizing for taking our time, or for letting her venom out to process her anger. And when later that day we talked again she thanked me for being there and said she felt stupid - she said she was going to text our friend and apologize for taking so much of his time when he comforted her. I said we all chose to be with her because that's what friends do, and we'd rather she's not alone to deal with that. I said that texting our friend was a good idea but that if she felt she was glad we were here, saying thanks would be much better than apologizing. We're happy to know we can make things less shit. And she looked surprised and relaxed by this, she heard it, and I was so glad.
Like how happy she was showing me that new poster. How patient friends are to let me swear and throw hands and fail rolling my fucking cigarette and just tag along with things.
You know, it's something I've lived by for a long time. I know I used to apologize all the time, for everything, and we know it's a bad habit, we know it puts us down, makes us feel like we're inconveniences and not people. But it's hard to lose it - and when we are bothersome, what else can we say really? When we feel we drag our friends down with us? And saying Thank you is really worth it. If you're about to say Sorry to a friend, by reflex, wonder if you could say thanks instead.
And it works even if you do feel sorry. Another thing: I'm sorry is about you, thank you is about them. If you have done nothing wrong to them, them knowing you feel sorry about it will not make them feel any better. On the other hand, if their bearing whatever they tried to shoulder with you made you feel even a tiny bit better, them knowing it will make them feel good.
So yeah. I'm just rambling, but it made me feel better, all this. All the bad emotions and the good ones that grow from them, surprisingly. It's long, unlearning to feel bad about feeling bad, but it is so rewarding. It's all worth it.

1, 2, 37, 41, and 11 (I know you’re partial to doctorriver so in this case let’s make it abt which dynamic -4River/CuratorRiver, 8River, 10River, and so on or are you equal opportunity)
1. What fic of yours would you recommend to someone who had never read any of your work? (In other words, what do you think is the best introduction to your fics?) I think the best introduction for someone with some time on their hands is probably there is a love I reminisce but for a lower-commitment intro, I'd probably go with I don't wanna run, just overwhelm me.
2. Go to your AO3 “Works” page, to the sidebar with all the filters, and click the drop-down arrow for “Additional Tags.” What are your top 3-5 most used tags? Do you think they accurately represent your writing habits?
Oh, god this is an embarrassing question. I'm so bad at tagging, and I used to be even WORSE at tagging, because I'd been out of the fanfic world since the days when people unironically used citrus terminology, and had only dipped into reading Doctor/River fic a few months before but had not updated myself at all on the modern conventions of fanfic or like How Ao3 Worked. Which is, of course - in combination with having absolutely no idea what I was getting into when I decided to write a scene from Darillium that popped into my head one day - how I ended up writing an 84-chapter fic as a series and making everyone hate me for 6 months. My friends in the fandom assure me no one does hate me for this but they also will never let me live it down, so 😂 ANYWAY this monstrosity fucked up all my tagging stats and I was, at the time, clueless of conventions and haphazardly tagging it with things like "romance" like just normal non-fanfic entertainment genres. All that considered, though, romance, family feels (which is more specific to that one series,) light angst and fluff are not a bad representation of a lot of what I've done.
41. Link a fic that made you think, “Wow, I want to write like that.” Everything Pam @mygalfriday has ever written is phenomenal but I'll throw some love at this one which I still think of even though it is TEN YEARS OLD???? and I daresay it has not aged a day, it is spectacular. And all in war with Time for love of you
11. Are you partial to a certain character/pairing or are you more equal-opportunity? If you are partial to any character/pairing, why do you think that is?
Obviously 11, 12 and 8 are my top three- as well as my top three favorite Doctors generally, and I will not decide rankings between them, I can't do that to them 😂 And so far I've only written her with ones she's met in official material, whether the show or Big Finish so I at least have a little something to go on- with the exception of 13 who I wrote before she was even on TV lol. But I love her with all of them, it's so much fun pulling out the subtle differences in their dynamics as well as the overriding things that don't change at all. That's what makes this such a great ship- endless possibilities with matchups of different Doctors and different points in their timelines, but they are always fundamentally the same two people not so far beneath the surface.

Bloody, Beaten, Bruised or Maximum Effort
Quick Tag List: @kuruumiya @spacelizardtrashboys @enigmaticandunstable @nattinngrst @amyofaquitaine
This passage contains potentially: scenes of one (or more) characters swearing, blood, self-harm (unintentional) and scenes of a violent nature. whump content and potential tear-jerking moments.
Summary: In this 'chapter' Kirby has her first fight in New Jersey, and stay in New Jersey for a week, leading to some heavy whump content by a certain someone.
Kirby's POV:
Standard match, one on one with a ten minute time limit. Not much for a debut but it's made into a big deal upon learning the opponents were male and female and not the standard male on male.
Jobber VS Newcomer.
Andrew Strong VS Kirby 'Gluttony' Lucifarian.
The bell rings and the fight starts.
"Strong throws the first punch and misses."
"The Ogress capitalises and hits him with a Feeding Frenzy."
"Strong is backed into the turnbuckle but the Ogress continues her attack."
"The referee is forced to separate them and Strong gets The Ogress in a lock-up."
"A swift knee to the stomach and Strong is staggered."
"The Ogress hits Strong with the Organ Grinder and it looks like it's all over."
"She covers Strong and … one … two … three. She's done it! The Ogress has won!"
Walking back to the locker room, I caught a glimpse of Moolah as she sneers at me and I shrug her off, focusing on getting into some clean clothes and going back to the hotel. I change and walk out of the dressing room with my bag slung over my shoulder.
"Good work out there, Kirby."
I recognise the voice and turn to see André, "Thank you, Drey."
"Moolah, doesn't seem to like you girls."
"We're stealing the hag's time in the sun. She always hates people who do that, even if she brings them in. I'll see you soon Drey."
"See you soon, Kirby."
I start walking back to the hotel when I start hearing a voice behind me, gradually getting closer.
"Hey, Miss, I think you dropped this." A distinctly masculine voice called out.
I turned around to see what the person wanted. To my surprise they had picked up my wallet, "Huh, I didn't feel it fall out of my pocket, thank you."
The man handed it to me before introducing himself, "Paul Orndorff. I saw your match earlier, you're fast for a giant, tough too."
"Thank you, Mr Orndorff."
He looked over his shoulder, "Oh, well, I have to go, Piper's waiting for me."
"Uh well, bye Mr Orndorff."
He left without another word and I unzipped my bag slightly to place my wallet inside, zipping it back up and continuing back to the hotel. I spent the night in a cramped hotel room and went to the gym the next morning.
Setting myself up at a heavy bag and practicing as per usual, no interruptions, no one else near by to talk to.
It was as if my mind just drifted away and I went into this mental fog, no gloves on but punching as if I did, breaking through the skin on my knuckles and only stopping after I noticed smears of blood on the heavy bag.
I wiped it down and bandaged my knuckles before moving on to doing push ups, lunges, squats and other exercises that wouldn't leave me covered in blood.
I was alone for the rest of the day, so I ordered some pizza (simple, pepperoni) and relaxed in the hotel, I pulled out a sketch book from my suitcase and began sketching.
I didn't plan on sketching anything too important so I just went with what was on my mind, which happened to be Roddy, Jeez it's like I'm becoming emotionally attached to this idiot.
Tumblr media
When I see him next I'll give him the drawing if I have it with me. I close the sketchbook and go back to the gym for around an hour, before coming back to the hotel and getting some rest.
I woke up the next morning (January 9th) and had a day much the same as the last, got up, did my morning routine, went to the gym, came back, ordered Chinese food and started drawing. It was just a shitty little thing, but once again, the Rowdy one came to mind.
Tumblr media
What is it with Scottish men and me, is it because I'm a quarter Scottish, is it maybe because I believe in the folk tales and stories of old, of knights on white steeds, saving fair maidens and living happily ever after, while the monsters they kill or maim lie in a pool of their own blood and wish they could've had a different life?
I have no idea, and the idea of my own mind comparing me with those monsters makes me regret ever reading those stories while growing up, rather I should have stuck my head into scientific textbooks instead of tales of heroism and fantastical ghouls, then I would have never become and wrestler or met the amazing people in my life.
I look back down at the paper and decide to let Roddy have two final full page drawings on the other side of the sketches I've already drawn of him, I add in a small note on the page under a picture of Roddy that Sam had found.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The more I looked at the drawings and that lone picture, the more I realised the small details of Roddy's features, the strong jaw with a cleft chin, his hazel eyes? or are they dark blue? either way they intrigue me. And that musculature, Roddy's not slim but not a big man either, he's at that almost perfect weight to body fat ratio. Good lord, listen to me calling … Piper, Roddy, Him, perfect. I think I want to be sick, just to be rid of those thoughts.
Right as I run into the small bathroom I hear a commotion in the hallway and someone being thrown or more accurately, hurled into the other side of the bathroom wall. I take a deep breath, re-fix my mask into it's usual position and dart out into the corridor, right as the commotion ends.
The obvious victim of the bout was on the floor face down with a long, not to deep cut down the back of their left leg and was breathing heavily when I reached them.
"Woah, hey, hey buddy." I whispered to them in an effort to calm them.
"Kirby?"
FUCK
That Glaswegian accent, fuck, He's not even supposed to be in town, or is he?
"Piper?!" I whisper-yelled, more to myself than to him.
"Hey…" his voice trailed off, I heaved him over my shoulder and went back into my hotel room, tossing him down on the only bed and grabbing his left foot, reaching over to my suitcase and getting my personal first aid kit, nothing too fancy, some bandages, plasters, the bare essentials. I cleaned the cut and bandaged it, taping the bandage in place.
I glanced up from Roddy's leg and saw that he had passed out, "Shit." I muttered to myself, louder than I thought and his eyes flickered open.
"Kirby? Is that you?" His voice weak but still understandable.
I stood there, frozen to the spot, unable to move, I wanted to cry as I realised how badly he had been beaten up, his eyebrow cut, coming close to his eye, his hairline a mix of matted brown hair and blood that was starting to coagulate and then I started to notice more things wrong with Roddy's visage.
His shirt (a Piper classic, yellow with a wild cat graphic) was torn in several places, showing bruises and nicks in his flesh. His kilt, however, was fully intact, including his belt and sporran, though all of it was scuffed with little scratches, but no cuts.
"Kirby? Kirby talk to me, please?" He spoke so carefully and it broke me.
I dropped to my knees, weeping, and Roddy shot to his feet, before dropping down on his left side and leaning on the bed, getting only a couple of steps closer to me.
"Kirby, are you okay?"
"Roddy, look at ya," I took a deep breath in, "How can you be so beat up and worried about me? How is that possible?"
"Kirby? look at ya, you're crying over me? I thought you didn't care about me that much?"
I wiped the tears from my face and got Roddy back on the bed.
"Stay there, Piper."
"Oh, feisty."
"Roddy! Stay on the bed and don't move."
"Yes Ma'am."
I trudged into the bathroom and ran a long cold shower, and I heard him move off the bed before swearing and sitting back on the bed.
"I thought I said, DON'T MOVE Roddy!"
"Alright, alright. … feisty"
After the shower, I dressed in the bathroom after drying myself off and exited the room. I instantly noticed a sleeping Piper.
"I guess I'll sleep on the floor then."
"C'mere." He lazily waved his arm to try and beckon me over.
"No, Roddy, get some rest."
"Come here and get in the bed." He rolled over and picked up the duvet, lackadaisically blowing a joking kiss in my direction.
"Jesus, Roddy, fine."
I climbed into the bed and felt Roddy's arms curl around my waist and his face between my shoulder blades.
"Rod, get off."
"Wha'?"
"Get off of me."
"Why?"
"Aren't you married, get off."
"if I was married, there would be a ring on my finger," He waved his left hand in front of my face, "No ring, no wife."
"Oh. Still, get off."
"Now, would that be 'get off' in the, leave me alone, way or the 'get off' in the, I love you take me now, way." The latter a clear joke but it annoyed me even more.
"Leave me alone, Roddy."
He slid his arms off and rolled to face the other way.
"Small bed, Kirby."
"I wasn't expecting company, Piper."
"Your tattoos are nice."
"Sleep, Piper."
"I'm just saying."
"Roddy, you are injured, sleep."
"I looked through your sketchbook earlier, y'know, when you were in the shower, just flicked through it, and wow, you're a great artist."
"For the love of God, Roddy! would you please just get some sleep."
"Alright!, alright. No need to yell."
"One more word and I'm chucking you out the nearest window."
We both fell silent and managed to get some sleep, it wasn't until sunrise that either one of us awoke. As I stirred from my slumber I was face to face with the Scottish idiot. I yelped and, without realising his legs were intertwined with mine, fell off the bed with him falling on top of me, waking Roddy up in the process.
"Oh, well, morning sweetheart, did I wake ya."
"Rod, get ya damn 'Loch Ness Monster' away from me."
Rod's cheeks turned pink and he quickly looked down between our bodies before sheepishly standing up and hurrying to the bathroom, I took the chance to change into a graphic tee and some black jeans, not noticing that Piper had left the bathroom door wide open, until I heard his voice.
"Woah, so uh, all of you is bigger than normal?"
I yelped and threw one of my shirts at his face, before realising that I had thrown the shirt I was planning on wearing at him, "Wait, Roddy, I need that shirt."
He laughed before handing me back my shirt, "Uh, thank you … for …saving me last night."
"Were you even supposed to be in town?"
"Well no, but I …" He trailed off
"I can't hear you, Roddy?"
"It's nothing, really."
I continued on with my normal routine, mindful that Roddy was in the same room as me and injured. It wasn't until the phone rang that I had a problem, before I could reach the phone Roddy had already answered it.
"Who is this?"
I could hear a loud, angry voice on the phone and Piper got defensive.
"You think you're a hard man do ya?!"
Damien. That's got to be Damien, which means I am in some real trouble now. Thanks Piper, ya dafty.
"I'll get her to call ya back once you've calmed down."
He slammed the phone back into it's place and breathed out a hefty sigh.
"Kirby, is Damien your boyfriend?" He seemed instantaneously calm
I almost choked on air for a moment, "No! He's my manager, and he's like double my age. He's Vic," I paused for a moment, "He's my dad, as well as the other members of the D.O.D. We're not all his biological daughters though, just Vickie."
"So, he adopted you?"
"I guess you could say that." I avoided looking him in the eyes.
"Tell me the truth. Now!"
"Promise you won't tell anyone first."
"I won't tell a soul, now, why are you so, uptight, about who he is to you."
"First things first, my name isn't Kirby Lucifarian, it's actually Kirby Trevor."
"Oh, so Damien's not you're adoptive father, either?"
"No, my real parents are Heaven and Eric Trevor. Damien's Vickie's dad and only Vickie's dad."
"Are either one of your parents giants? or is it just you?"
"Just me, the closest person to me in height, family-wise was my uncle Rory. He's the reason I have the tattoo on my wrist."
I walked up to Piper and showed him the 'R' tattooed on my right wrist.
Tumblr media
"So, he passed away?"
"Yeah. He died, eleven, no no, twelve years ago now, when I was Seventeen, My uncle Vaughn died a couple months later, he's why I have the lighter on my left arm, my uncle Vaughn was best known for being, in the nicest terms, a layabout smoker, and the smoke took him in the end."
Tumblr media
"So, you have a lighter to remember a man who died by smoking?"
"Dark, I know, but uncle Vaughn would've laughed at it. Erik laughed at it when I explained it to him."
"Eric, your dad?"
"No, no, Erik, with a 'K', my old tag partner before I joined the D.O.D. I think you would've liked him."
"Really, now why would I like a guy I know nothing about?"
"Well, Erik's Scottish, He's from Edinburgh. He's tall-ish, then again I am a giant, so who am I to say what's tall, he's six-foot-five. He played the bagpipes when he was younger, he quit playing when he was twenty-three, same year we lost the tag titles."
"Rough," He interrupted "Continue, please."
"Uh, well. Erik's strong, very strong, he would compete in the Highland games and well, … I guess back then I thought I'd never leave him, until Damien gave me an offer I couldn't refuse and I left him. I had a whole life with him planned inside my head and I left it all behind, for what, cramped hotel rooms and breakfasts with André."
"You had breakfast with André the giant and you didn't tell me … You, You had a good Scottish man, and you left him, for," He gestured to the room, "all this?"
"Well I jus-"
"No," He held my jaw and looked me straight in the eyes, "You had a life, a man who obviously a close relationship with you, and you gave it up for breakfasts with André and shitty hotel rooms."
"I know I'm stupid."
"But you're not stupid, you saved me, I could have died in that hallway and you brought me in here, you stopped that bastard from killing me. I could kiss you."
"Please don't."
Sorry for cliff-hanger ending, but … END OF BLOODY, BEATEN, BRUISED or MAXIMUM EFFORT.

ahem kpop bias ask. if u want to. onf and onewe… this is my second formal apology 😔💕. onewe is an afterthought i’m really asking for ur top ten jayus things -tt
NDSKJFSKGH it's really not that serious omgg but hehe. i will start with onewe bc i don't need to elaborate too much. i actually don't wanna hand it to him but i'm gonna have to hand it to yonghoon 🙄 ever since i made that post abt how he fits in a venn diagram w jayus & changgu i have come to realise it . truly mental illness. help. but u know what's more mental illness? whatever bullshit i've written under the cut (it's LONG)
i mean for onf ofc we know. we know. BUT i will say all of them are my meow meows & initially i was an emkay boy actually... like at the very beginning. he's a catboy so ofc i was drawn to him but i think the way i approach each onf boy is different & well jayus has to be the closest to what u would call a ' bias ' ... obviously...
that aside... top ten jayus things. hm. well. in no particular order...
- He's So Normal. but he's also not. i say he's normal bc i think he's the most specialest man (parasocial) but i know to some he just looks like a dude... but look... he is the guy. he is capable of being the guy. because he is. the guy. help i actually got attached to capricorn man i don't even know. now ofc if anything were to change my mind on this (ie him turning out to Suck) i will not excuse him he's still a celeb & idk him but for the time being he's my man
- he actually is very nice?? like from what we know of him. as one of the leaders we know the others rely on him & they seem to trust him a lot. he's also shown a lot of care like,, when wyatt lost his mother during byubyu promos i think & kept it to himself to not bring everyone down, but jayus called him asking where he was then brought like... everyone wyatt loved with him to visit him? just thinking about it gets me all misty-eyed. people being considerate just does things to me i'm not immune. it just makes me think the ppl around them are in good hands if they ever need someone to lean on & like augghhgf to be dependable
- honestly a bit obsessed w how relevant his dislike of cucumbers is that it's mentioned in song lyrics. also that's a mood i hate cucumbers so like i get it. every idol who hates cucumbers they just get it... i do find it funny in general how Serious idols who hate cucumbers are about hating cucumbers
- he's fully aware his stage name is peculiar & that's one of my favourite things truly genuinely... "i'm j-us my name is weird" yea the fuck it is!! how did u even come up with that 😭 but look i enjoy calling him jayus so i can't really complain. i don't think i'll ever be on first name terms with him it feels weird to call him seungjun i feel like i'm about to scold him & like . No
- his fashion. is so bad (positive) sometimes. but also he wears light turtlenecks on purpose so like who am i to complain? (i still think his fit for the sukswim dance practice was SO silly though ngl everyone else was #normal and he had his Jacket. he's not normal actually) i feel like i wanna borrow half his wardrobe... i'd cut a chest window into a turtleneck but then not give it back bc it's for Me now i get the chest window fuck off
- this specific pic of him doing the dishes. i've rbed it at least twice u can probably find it on my blog if u look for it but i admit there are a number of jayus pics in my jayus tag... possible u've already seen it though
- okay now onto the more basic things bc i wanted to get the rest out of the way HE'S A FUCKING PERFORMER!!!!! and i'm genuinely upset we don't get to see it that often bc he leaves the floor to the rest of the group & never takes center!! bro!!! post dance covers where ur the only one dancing!! i'm begging u. ur the leader of the performance team but i can never promote u. i have to rb my pinned post endlessly... pls give me more.....
- now this may be bc of conditioning myself. okay. but he's grown to have my favourite vocal tone in onf. i've already described his voice's flavour so i won't repeat it but it's truly like......... i appreciate it a lot i want to hear him sing more. i feel like he's not the type to post song covers which sucks bc he really has a good voice :/ & he's skilled at singing! even the onf members who aren't the vocalists have very good voices & good technique too! i'm sure i'm not the only one who thinks we should hear all of them more. i love more vocal-focused songs bc we get to hear all of them & it's the best thing (also shout out to tion for having my second favourite vocal tone in onf. i guess that's just capricorns for u)
- u would think he's one of those regular kpop dudes who keep their hair colour to like black or brown all the time but NO. he's Different. he's had dark hair quite a few times but we've gotten white hair haven't we? now the blond? we had the black with the red then purple side too... his hair length has never bothered me like i'm not begging him to grow his hair to his ass (although i would like to see it. post enlistment ofc.) he's like not Outwardly So Special but he doesn't seem like the guy who'll stick to what's "normal" if he wants to do smth he'll do it... even if it's little things i def enjoy the um, casual-ness with which he seems to approach most things. i can't know if the hair colours were all his ideas obviously (i doubt tion decided to Go Yellow) but like, see when hwanung went hot pink & mentioned that he had a hard time getting used to it? u never really get that impression from onf in general they all seem to be fine w anything. they're just here to have fun & make bangers
- *heavy sigh* he's so incredibly handsome to me i don't even know what to say......... this is the part where i am, in fact, gay. i really do think he's handsome like idk how to explain it he's so very charming <3 even in his ugly selfies bc obviously they're my favourites. i'm generally not the biggest on fansites for obvious reasons but some of them offer pics w his brows untouched & like. yes. ❤ tbh i'm sad about enlistment but also seeing him with brows again is probably gonna make me very happy so... i'll take it. (but also idk why it's said they're gonna enlist for two years when enlistment minimum is one & a half year now? idk) oh man i just realised since he's hashtag physically capable he's probably gonna get at least a little bigger there's no way he's gonna be sent to an office for two years. i entrust my laying to rest to u & the mutuals bc i know my family won't do right by me ok? more seriously. i'm always afraid of sounding Weird if i talk abt ppl's facial features (despite being, yknow, an artist, so that's a thing i Have to focus on & study to get better 😭 & everyone else does it but apparently when it's me it's illegal in my mind) but his cheeks *face in hands* he also has such a cute smile. his smile when he's flustered is also um, well it is 😔💕. um. yea. that's about it

Hello! First of all, I really love your writing, some of scenarios are that well done I actually forgot I was reading them and not participating in them myself! Could I ask for one too? Like an angst with Imayoshi and #77? I'll love you forever if you put it in Mafia!AU but if you don't want to do this it's fine, just ignore this message then, please. Have a great day anyways! ♥
Hi namadine! Thank you so much for your lovelycompliment! I’m so pleased I can literally take you into the story. This is myfirst time writing a Mafia AU so I hope it’s good.  Also, I love that you choseImayoshi! He’s one of those characters that I like more the more I re-watch theanime. Slight language so technically NSFW.
I thought this picture was great for this, please give the artist kudos here.
Shoichi Imayoshi – Prompt #77 – “You shouldn’t haveeven been there!” (angst/Mafia!AU)
Tumblr media
“Get it done tonight. I want it clean, no mistakes,”Imayoshi says coolly.
“Tch, why send me to do this job?” Aomine asksyawning.
“Because, despite your lazy attitude, you’re the bestshot we have. It’s simple, probably won’t take you more than ten minutes tops.”
“More like five,” the ace sniper comments, his wordsindicative of his acquiescence to the orders.
“What is it Sakurai?” asks the bespectacled head ofthe Too mafia gang after the blue haired male has left the room.
His mousy assistant jumps slightly, unaware he’sbeen observed. “I’m sorry,” he begins shakily, bowing slightly, “I just…do youthink it’s a good idea to leave it to him?”
Before he can answer, Wakamatsu is already raving, “Ofcourse it’s not a good idea! Boss, you know how he is! Let me take this one,you know how unfocused he is ever since Kagami-“
“Aomine is fine,” Imayoshi interjects firmly, “it’stime for him to get back in the game. As for Kagami, I’ll admit that was anunfortunate incident, but we must move forward.” He stands, heading for thedoor, saying over his shoulder, “But if you’re that worried about him,Wakamatsu, feel free to tag along. Just don’t get in his way.”
Later that night…
Aomine sits on top of a roof, the cold of theevening biting through even his heavy coat. He bemoans the need to take it offsoon in order to have the best body control possible for this shot. Nearby,Wakamatsu kneels in the shadows, his presence irritating but not distracting;Aomine is too good for that.
Eventually his target arrives, getting out of hiscar and making his way inside. Shucking his jacket off, Aomine readies himselfinto position, his gun already out and waiting for him. As he settles his righteye against the scope of his rifle both widen in surprise when he sees you inthe same café as his target.
“Fuck,” he mutters under his breath.
“What is it?” his unwanted companion asks.
“_______-chan is in there. What the hell is shedoing in this territory?” Aomine asks.
“Not sure, but boss man isn’t going to be happyabout it, that’s for sure,” responds the blonde.
“No shit,” Aomine says running a frustrated handthrough his hair.
He weighs his options; his target isn’t exactlyknown for drawing attention, in fact Daiki can see he’s moving about the roomwith nary a glance in his direction. It’s worth the risk of your exposure tothe violence. Plus, it’s not like you know anything about anything. To you,Imayoshi and the rest of them are respectable business men dealing in the worldof high paid athletes and sponsorships. You have no idea that Too and all itsassociates are one of the largest mafia organizations in Japan, second only tothe Rakuzan family.
“I’m taking the shot,” he says, repositioning andremoving the safety. It will all be over in a blink of an eye.
Inside the café you’re enjoying a latte along with atoffee scone, perfect companions to the latest novel from your favorite author.Glancing up as you turn a page, you’re startled to see a red dot settled on theback of a fellow patron. It takes milliseconds for you to figure out what you’relooking at, your body moving on its own.
“Look ou-“you cry standing up rapidly, but yourvoice is cut short as a sharp sting smacks against your back, the air in yourlungs escaping as pain radiates from the point of impact outwards.
The last thing you see are the bright blue eyes ofthe man whose life you just saved, seemingly at the cost of your own.
In a large mansion, a large room holds a large bedwhich holds a very small and fragile you. Imayoshi sits in a nearby chair, headin his hands. Why? Why the fuck did he think it was a good idea to take thejob? If only he’d told that damned self-proclaimed “emperor” to shove it up hisass, you wouldn’t be in this position, fighting for your life.
Taking your hand, slow tears trailing down his face,Imayoshi whispers, “You shouldn’t haveeven been there.”
No, you shouldn’t have been anywhere near that sideof town but he just had to be “busy”. He just had to blow you off and tell youhe couldn’t see you because he had business to attend to. He’d no fuckingbusiness other than assigning Aomine to the hit. How could his ace have done this?He never missed, ever.
Leaning his head down onto the bed, he sobs, “Y/N,please…please come back to me. I…I can’t…I can’t do this without you.” He looksup to your serene face, holding out hope you’re just sleeping, just reallytired and will wake up soon. He stands, brushing his lips against yourforehead, “I love you so much, please…please open your eyes.”
Days pass then weeks then months with no change inyour condition other than you’re losing weight and muscle mass but Imayoshirefuses to give up, refuses to pull the plug despite doctor’s opinions andforecasts being unfavorable to any recovery at all.
He knows he’s a selfish bastard, but Imayoshiroutinely does the things that people hate, and right now, he’s keeping youalive, even if it kills him. Because for as much as he hurts to see you likethis, he can’t let you go.
