and as they go back in he's like "damn chrissy you need to cut back. smoking's super bad for your health, dude" and it makes her smile every time

Eddie kept stealing glances at Chrissy and he knew her too well because now it was clear she was up to something. She kept checking her phone, something she didn’t do that often, and tugging at the beautiful necklace she had on, which, now that Eddie was actually looking at it, he didn’t recognize it.  “Where did you get that necklace again?” he asked, pretending he wasn’t fishing for information. Chrissy was distracted looking at something that Eddie couldn’t figure out exactly what it was.  “It was a gift,” she said, her eyes moving as if following someone in the crowd. “A gift, huh?” Eddie asked, and Chrissy hummed noncommittally. She was very much not in this conversation, and Eddie wasn’t ashamed to use that on his behalf. “And did Robin choose that all on her own for you or…?” “Oh, yeah, Robin has the best taste, I…�� Chrissy stopped and spun around, looking horrified at Eddie. “You tricked me!” He snorted, “well, one can say you tricked me first. What the fuck are you up to, Cunningham?”  She smirked. There wasn’t a shameful bone in that tiny cheerleader body. “Don’t worry about it.”  “Oh, but I worry,” Eddie said, squinting at her. “Chrissy, please, do not meddle.”  She looked at him, and now Eddie could see a tiny bit of guilt behind her blue eyes. But definitely not enough for her to stop whatever that she was doing.  A waiter showed up with champagne, and Chrissy motioned for him to top their glasses up.  “Drink up,” she said, searching for Robin in the crowd and motioning for her to approach them. “And be nice.”  “I’m always nice,” he said, emptying his glass as if it was a shot and extending his glass out for another refill.  “Yeah, right,” she said, but she was smiling. “Robs!”  Then, the weirdest thing happened. Robin wrapped her arm around Chrissy’s waist and pulled her in, pressing a long kiss in the corner of her mouth. Eddie had to look away because it felt like he was intruding.  “You look stunning,” she said in a low tone, and Chrissy giggled, turning her head enough that Eddie could see she was blushing.  Well, it was clear that something was happening between them and if Eddie wasn’t so worried about whatever those two were planning then he would definitely be happy for his friend. He knew Robin and Chrissy would get along pretty well, and it seemed that he was right.  “Nice to see you, Eddie,” Robin said, barely looking at him. She clearly had more interesting things to look at, and Eddie knew he couldn’t compete with that.  “You too,” he said, smiling as he watched Chrissy turning around in Robin’s arms, but noticing how they made sure to stay close. “Although I have a feeling I won’t enjoy whatever surprise you and Chrissy have for me.”  Robin laughed and kissed the top of Chrissy’s head.  “No, I suppose you won’t.” Robin agreed, and just like Chrissy, she didn’t really look ashamed of herself.
