Why’d they capture swamp link??? Is it cuz he’s the hero? Or some other reason?
Yeah I'm thinking so. I'm still figuring out what exactly happens y'know, but I like the idea that this group is like, really devoted to Farore/the golden goddesses, and so are kind of obsessed with the hero... in a bad way.
I was thinking maybe they've been looking for the hero for a while, but since Swamp Link has been in the swamp his whole life they never found him. But now that he's moving around Hyrule a little more they go "blond man with triangles!!! named LINK!!!"
But again, I'm still thinking about it. I messed with the idea a little but didn't get very far:
"Whoa whoa whoa wait I'm no hero!" Link yelped, pulling against the ropes binding him to the pillar. "I'm just-- I'm just a guy!"
"Yes, a 'guy' with all of the markings of the Hero," the woman said, taking his face in her hand. "We've waited many years for your return."
"But I'm not a hero!" Link yelled, glaring at her.
The woman gave him a flat look. "Your name is Link, is it not?"
"So? Everybody names their kids Link! I have a cousin named Link! It doesn't mean anything!"
"On the contrary," the woman said with a smile, one that made Link's stomach twist. "It means everything."
#so yeah that's partially why I'm writing that one whumptober#because 1 its a fun idea and 2 it gives me an excuse to maybe a work out a bit more of what I want these bad guys to be like#answers from the floor#smiles my beloved#swamp link#wip

alr first floor 2 doors thought dump, obv spoilers ahead // cheers to @d-alva45 for experiencing first playthroughs w me :3
first impression was like oh my god we're actually going in. starting from where we left off and atmosphere was so perfect tbh WE'RE GONNA CRAASSHHHH
door 1 was at first confusing cus like we didnt know what to do (no guiding light this time >:( ), eventually we figured out. i kinda like that mechanic tbh, also the ping noise when you open a drawer/locker when there's an item in it is kinda nice to have
oh the rooms we've seen so far are so environmental like ... definitely giving the mines, its so eerie and atmospheric and dawg the ambience scares me everytime :sob:
the light sibs are there :3 although, curious' had the potion which i know i put there; guiding's had ... a large .... curious .... bottle .... ? i've always had my A-1000 tablet in there, but i thought maybe it wouldnt transfer to the mines so like i took it. big mistake idk what happened to the tablet but i lost it forever. rip tablet you were never useful to me. at least i can use my rift with purpose
i believe our first (new) entity was that white screech? giggle. fuck i hate that thing. i like the idea that friends can take that thing off you but ugh. i hate your laughter. keep doing whatever you're doing great sweetie. anyways later runs we started to catch on that it would just be in the ceiling giggling so thats nice. i like its mechanic tbh
i think my first death was to hide. i caNNOT believe they changed hide's design to be that red monster thing, AND HIDE HAS MINIGAMEESSS???? i havent tried it in the hotel but i kinda hope it didnt fully replace the locker timer. i liked that tbh but i guess they wanted to spice it up. it gets faster the longer you stay in until it becomes borderline impossible and you have to LEAVE. i didnt even know you could LEAVE during the minigame. anyways died to that thing.
next death was the gloombats. oh those things sound TERRIFYING. also guide gives no helpful advice for them, 'they're menacing when they're in a swarm' yeah thanks im getting swarmed how do i get Not swarmed. had to learn through friends that they're attracted to light. gotchu
i dont remember what door number but i think its a fixed one; motherfucking FIGURE falls from the FUCKING CEILING ???!?!?! brother starts wandering around like bro you are Not contributing anything what are you doing. sick though hello old friend
also eyes fucking TELEPORTS around. bro starting working out before the update now its EVERYWHERE. eyes, screech and giggle are worst combo
ALSO WE GOT AMBUSH ON LIKE DOOR 4. DAWG WHAT. rush also came from the front. omg doors floor 2 trailer referenced.
ANYWAYS i might've forgotten something but thats all my thoughts down !!! i will be taking a sleep because its MIDNIGHT and i am SUPER EXHAUSTED, i will try my best to avoid spoilers since we only got up to like. door 14. ENJOY THE REST OF THE UPDATE AND THANKS FOR READING MY DUMB RAMBLINGS I GUESS ????? i did not read over this so excuse my grammatically incorrect ass
rip im gonna have to mildly change hide's design. giggle's is gonna be fun to draw. gloombats i dont really know what they look like but probably fun. idk about the big boy, havent seen it yet

Goultard's backstory, comparing the Dofus manga and the special episode Part 2 - Falling in love
Part 1
The special ep and the manga are the most different when it comes to Goultard falling in love.
The most notable difference is that Goultard falls in love with one witch instead of three. Certainly because they thought Gou having three girlfriends/wives at the same time wouldn't be politically correct enough for a short film meant to be showed to french tv channels as a way to prove Ankama had what it takes to make a tv show (Wakfu).
In the manga, Goultard goes after a trio of witches, the dark sisters, who keep stealing food from their village and causing chaos. He's not really interested in stopping them, really he's just charmed and intrigued... (maybe he's kinda fascinated... and wishes he could be free like they are idk idk maybe who knows)
Kiki : Alright girls, I've got everything we need... Let's go!
Guy : Well, Goultard? What the hell were you doing? These three witches ransacked the whole village! And you didn't even lift a finger!
Goultard : I... I don't know, I wasn't myself, they must have cast a spell on me... / Guy : A spell? My ass. You're losing it! Talk about a hero... You're a pervert, that's what you are!
The way this guy talks to him like he's a completely useless imbecile really proves Goultard's only respected as long as he does what people expect him to do...
So he throws a large boulder the size of a small boulder at them, making them drop the bag of stolen food.
Kiki : Listen little peasant, we don't want to hurt you. Give us that bag and you'll leave safe and sound. / Elvie : Pretty cute for a little peasant.
Goultard : Shush... A small demonstration is better than a long speech...
Kiki : You think we're impressed, you pretentious macho? (Still... A tree with only one finger!) Let's see what you can do againsnt our magic powers!
Dark sisters : Take this! / Goultard : I wonder which one is the cutest...
They insult him, make fun of him, threaten and eventually attack him... and I guess that totally does it for Goultard. This is also exactly what Algathe did before he fell in love with her, so I'm pretty sure that's just his type.
Goultard : Now, you've really gone too far... You've burnt all my clothes off! (Gou like "teehee oops i'm naked lol ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶ " )
Kiki : It's impossible... No man can resist our magic! / Elvie : Seems like he can.
Goultard : Now, may I give you some advice? / Kiki : Keep your advice and take this!
Goultard : Please, don't make me hurt you! / Kiki : Ow, my arm. Where does this strength come from?
Goultard : No idea, I've always been pretty sturdy... Now, if you'll excuse me... I believe this bag of provisions must be returned to its real owner. See you later, girls! (omg nobody look! he's ass)
Ah yes... No creature could resist Goultard, whether monstrous or feminine... / Kiki : What a guy... / Elvie : I'd like casting a love spell on him.
They dont ever say it, but you cant make me believe that these three "single" witches, who people call "sisters", (who lived together secluded from "respectable society"?) and did petty crimes together, weren't all dating one another. Goultard was just the latest addition to their cute little polycule. Thanks to his idiot rizz. And supposedly huge dick (If Elvie says so I believe her)
Elvie : Oh! Now that's what I call a magic wand!
His dick pictured here, here and here (pictures kindly provided by @dj-m0th thank you lmao)
( ^◡^)っ✂╰⋃╯No!! you leave that thang alone!!
In the special episode, the unnamed witch initiates the flirting with Goultard.
She IS very cute even if she doesn't seem mean like Goultard usually likes.
They dont waste any time getting to know each other. As shown here by this VERY subtle broom riding illustration.
In the manga, the relationship takes a little more time to develop.
Thus, after a few months, the relationship between goultard and the dark sisters grew friendlier. They first began by repairing the damage they had caused and helped Goultard to fend off the most aggressive monsters.
Over time, the three sisters and goultard became more intimate / Kiki : Take your finger out of there, naughty boy...
Looks like they're having fun. Good for them, good for them....
His wedding was magnificent and thousands of warriors came to pay homage. They were even surprised to see some former enemies arrive during the ceremony.
(Cabotine isn't there, is she dead?)
Life went on and Goultard was the happiest hero in the world. / Monster : Goultard, you little worm, come taste my balls... / Goultard : Stay in bed, girls, I'll be back in five minutes... (He'll be back right after tasting this dude's balls I guess)
They had many children and lived happily ever after
They have four children, three boys and a girl. Riri, Fifi, Loulou, what the fuck is the daughter's name oh my god (Fun fact : Riri, Fifi and Loulou are the names of Donald Duck's nephews in french)
Goultard's family is what he cherishes the most in the entire world. He truly loves that simple domestic lifestyle....
And this is it! Happy ending! No looming threat in the dark and certainly no part 3 to this post.
Part 3 Part 4
#dofusposting#Goultard#i think im losing it#dofus manga#like.... maybe they really are sisters but like... they all have sex together so???? who knows

Could you please make a part 2 on the ‘in his arms’ fic from Mathias?
I want to know if reader survives or not
What I'm hearing is we don't appreciate cliffhangers around here, which is good with me because it gives me excuses to write more parts to my existing content which is always fun for me:)
In His Arms (Part 2) - Matthias Helvar
Content Warnings: Mentions Of Threat, Violence, Injury, Near Death, Death. Concepts Of Mortality. Not Beta/Proof Read.
Part 1
You were dead. You were sure of that. There was Matthias and the cold and then... Nothing.
You felt like you were waiting for a flicker of candlelight in the pitch darkness and right before someone struck a match you were feeling your nerves again.
Your eyes opened briefly to a healer whose name you had never known leaning over you muttering curses in more languages than you know.
Yet it was Matthias's voice guiding you, pulling you back from whatever place had intended to keep you. You heard him when you pulled in that first exhausting breath since your heart had given out, and then darkness again.
Waking in soft cotton sheets was not what you had pictured happening, considering you were sure you were destined for the grave and most of the way into one, you weren't expecting much, but you wake on a soft fur throw with far too many pillows surrounding you. You've got no idea where you are, but the whole room smells like chamomile and something you cannot place, something smokey, something that would make you keep your eyes forward if you were passing by on the road.
Matthias is asleep beside the bed, taking up all the space of a far too small chair. You see a pair of eyes you recognise in the darkness of the doorway, and you're met with the most delicate of smiles. "You're awake," Inej whispers, "that's good, honestly I thought you were lost to us for a moment there. I was expecting to try and keep Matthias from studying the Bright Lands to bring you back."
"Djel," you manage to croak out despite the weight of your tongue in your mouth, "he would've had argument with the wellspring."
She laughs at the way you're correcting her religious references but her concern is still palpable. "Don't talk," she advises, "you're a long away from recovered yet."
She fusses you a moment, and in that time you glimpse that softer side to her, that side that in all her years she didn't let the horrors of The Barrel completely grind out. "If you can, please drink, I'm going to find something to eat, and maybe... Nina, maybe Nina," Inej is talking more to herself than to you and you know it. But she gives you a disapproving glance as you attempt to sit up, but she allows it.
You reach for your drink and that movement, so small but close enough to Matthias brings him back, and in the seconds before his eyes truly take in the waking world, you can see all the fear he keeps for you, for your safety, for your survival in those eyes of his.
"Hey there wolfy," you say, trying to break a smile.
All his instincts make him want to grab you, to hold you, but you still look so fragile he fears as much as a touch might shatter you. "You're alive," is all he manages to say.
"Seems that way," you admit. "You really couldn't just let me go, could you?" It's a joke, or its an attempt at one, you're not sure how else to talk about the way in which you very nearly died.
"I... I have already lost everything that I kept close to my heart," Matthias says, "everything except for you, so I will not lose you too."
"Matthias..."
"So no," his confession is quiet but he never takes his eyes off you, "I could not let you go."

today in: Me trying to forget the current history of the comics and completely ignoring that Venom will meet Spiderman in the movies. A stupid idea of what it would be like if by chance Movie!Eddie and Comic!Eddie switched symbiotes 🎉yiphi🎉
1.- "Let's go for some bad guys"
Venom and Comic!Eddie:
So I keep thinking about Venom constantly bugging Eddie about going after some bad guys. He just replies "Yeah, here we go let me finish this report" the exact same excuse that Movie!Eddie gives them every time. things get strange when Eddie actually saves his report, turns off the computer, gets up from the table and goes to the window leaning until he almost falls, they wait a few seconds and Eddie asks:
– So? Are you going out? Or..
– Wait, really?
– "really" what?
A few more seconds pass and Venom covers Eddie's body to go out to devour some heads, Venom's happiness cannot be explained in those moments.
Venom Symbiont and Movie!Eddie:
The symbiote is not usually begged because Comic!Eddie understands its needs, but this Eddie, Movie!Eddie, oh, if his Eddie was foolish, this was four times as foolish.
– I already said no and it's no
– Come on, I'm dying here!
– Don't be dramatic, have some chocolate bars and shut up, I'm working.
that's enough..
Other than tantrums and complaints, Eddie didn't expect the symbiote to do anything about it. At most he might break some valuable thing like the TV or scratch the couch more than Venom had left it. His surprise was great when he became unconscious and a few hours later he woke up on the roof of a building covered in blood and some bodies around him.
– w-what the fuck did you do?
– Sorry Eddie. Hungry, very hungry, we couldn't contain ourselves
Maybe he would have to rearrange his schedules, because he couldn't afford to be unconscious from time to time and wake up hours later covered in blood in some strange place
2.- Spider web
It had probably been a week since they got together, but Comic!Eddie was still trying to pull cobwebs off his wrists. At first Venom thinks it's weird that he did weird poses with his hands, then they went through Eddie's memories and now they make fun of him every time he tries to pull cobwebs.
While Movie!Eddie was very scared when he realized that cobwebs could come out of his wrists. He had to accept that they are very helpful most of the time, but he is still terrified of flying through the air.
3.- Trust
Venom and Comic!Eddie:
Venom was surprised to feel the trust Eddie placed in them. It was like it was almost impossible for Eddie that something bad could happen between them or that Venom would let something bad happen to him. In part this gave them self-confidence.
Venom Symbiont and Movie!Eddie:
It was difficult for the symbiote to show that Eddie that he could trust them and despite his misunderstandings, he had no reason to fear them. But the symbiote noticed that even with his previous symbiote there was this strange mistrust.
He partly understood, Eddie lives in a world without superheroes or supervillains with superpowers. For him, super powerful beings are just part of movies, series, comics, books...
In general, the fact that one day he was a normal reporter doing his job taking down a large company and the next moment he had a symbiotic alien, with superhuman strength and a fascination for eating brains. at least the Eddie of his universe was somewhat related to the superhumans that lived on his planet, but to this Eddie everything was so new and strange. Maybe things will go slowly, but they will teach this Eddie that he can put his trust in them, come what may.
4.- Anne
Venom and Comic!Eddie:
– Hey, I haven't seen Anne in this universe, where is she?
– Annie? oh amm, she- she died, long long time ago
– WHAT?!!1??1!
Venom Symbiont and Movie!Eddie:
*After Eddie had a call with Anne
– We didn't know that the Anne of this universe was still alive.
– Annie? Well yes, she's not alive in your universe?
– No
– And what happened with her?
– Suicide
*Eddie swallows dry – You say it like you don't care
– Not much really, We don't dislike her or anything, but kept Eddie constantly worried and got in the way of our plans. really annoying.
– oh
Maybe he's considering keeping this symbiote away from Anne.
5.- Flash Thompson
Movie! Eddie and the Venom symbiote are not going to meet Flash in the universe they are in. But I love thinking about Comic!Flash meeting Movie!symbiote, demanding that Eddie give it back.
Venom asking – who is that guy?
and Eddie like – Nobody, don't listen to him, let's just get out of here
6.- Head
Venom Symbiont and Movie!Eddie:
– Why do you always talk in my head?
– ?
– You know, Venom used to stick out a big head and talk to me.
– Oh yeah, we can do something like that
Eddie expected the big head of Venom, big white eyes and long, pointy fangs coated with saliva but instead, a small black tentacle without eyes or mouth came out of his shoulder. It wasn't threatening or creepy, it even seemed kind of cute.
Venom and Comic!Eddie:
Eddie did not comment on the Venom spectacle. But he would like them not to show their teeth so much, he doesn't know if Venom is asking him for things nicely, threatening him or seducing him
I have no ideas anymore, goodbye beautiful people <3

Ill be honest and say i think the removal of sheikah related lore was not for internal weird racist reasons and instead simply for game design reasons, why the zonai tech is so similar in concept and execution. totk is a sequel and also a redux, they needed technology for mechanics and a reason for the world to change and introducing an entirely new race of characters would be the perfect scapegoat. it feels like it ignores botw almost entirely because 1) new players 2) to be a finished version of botw more mechanics and more content. the narrative was barely a thing in this game because what mattered the most was design and gameplay above all else. i don't think caring about gameplay first particularly bad, it's a fun game they will probably revolutionize the industry once again, and that nintendo doesn't care about lore at all but it really wasn't the priory here at least that's how I felt when i play the game. i adore the overworld and the npcs but the main quest (tears) story itself is very stale. best praise i can give to it is character design and zeldas sacrifice/how they handled her and link that's literally it (vague because i don't know if you've gotten there yet, it's after the completion of the tears quest and getting the master sword). zelda lore at this point is a sandbox and us fans will do what we want with it. sorry for the ramble!
Hey, thanks for the ask!
So I sort of agree, especially on the first part. I absolutely believe that yes, sheikah were not sidelined for malicious reasons, and the ease of just having one super-powerful ultratech culture you rely on was cleaner than having the old relics hanging around. I actually think it's the cleanest choice to make (one that would have been *even cleaner* would have been to write a story and think of a world that reinvent its landmarks based on that new ideas of archeology and the past bursting back into the present, which is theme that coats the game but doesn't ever permeates it). I still think any acknowledgement that it used to exist would have enriched a world that has, ultimately, very little new things to teach us about itself (I have scoured the Depths a bunch, and it's a combat/exploration hotspot, and that's cool but also what a missed opportunity to try some proper FromSoftware-style worldbuilding down there!). I don't think this would have confused new players; if anything it could have hinted at more and gave the new players any reason to pick up Breath of the Wild? But: the world is a playground! That's cool. I think it could be a much more meaningful playground, that's all. There's a category of players who kind of need some light modicum of internal consistency to be invested in exploration, and will just get bored otherwise (I have seen a bunch of people making this exact remark, and honestly... yeah, there are areas in the game I'm not interested in exploring just because I know it's a consequenceless challenge in the end --I'm just not the kind of player that is hooked by a game loop on its own merit, I need to understand what I'm building towards or I lose interest. It's the kind of thing that wouldn't have changed anything to a regular TotK's enjoyer experience, but would have greatly enriched the experience of players like me)
Still think that making Sheikahs a subset of hylians was a very weird choice. Not an outright malicious one, but one that does build up with all of the other weird choices and make this Hyrule feel like a revisionist Hyrule; and one they simply... didn't have to make.
(I'll maybe do another post about this, but there are so many things in this game that would be very confusing to a new player either way also --but that's kind of going into another territory)
I disagree about one general point, however, and I may get offtrack here a little but I guess you gave me an excuse to rant a little about how narrative design is perceived by the general public and what has been frustrating to witness in regards to the conversation surrounding this game from my perspective.
Mainly, this notion that "they had no other choice" because they chose to prioritize gameplay. I'm going to overshare a little (again sorry) but I work in gamedev in real life; I am actually a narrative designer that did quest design and game writing on a couple of games, some of them that also qualify as AAA open worlds. I think it's completely fair to see this game from a player perspective as a series of compromises struck to privilege the aspect of the game they were the most confident with --however, it is literally my real life job to walk through situations that can be extremely similar to this one and find solutions that weave narration with fun experiences game and level designers managed to put together. It doesn't mean that story has to swallow gameplay: if anything, narrative designers always try to privilege mechanics first and treat them as narrative devices in their own right before whipping out the actual cutscenes and the constant writing (and this game was somehow under AND overwritten in my opinion, especially in English --so I don't think it even solved this aspect?). This is not at all aimed at you in particular but at the internet at large; it ends up being quite grating to see assumptions being made about what can and can't be done in non-linear narrative as like, a fact of the universe instead of it being a specific field that deserve research and investment just like any other graphical advancement or intricate interactive feature, and explain away poor design decisions by the strange notion that they had no other choice, as if Nintendo studios aren't comprised of a bunch of humans who made active and passive choices. Like, I worked on very similar issues. There are solutions to how you feed information to the player in a non-linear way. There are ways to maximize impact and depth, even when you let the player guide the story. Again: it's fine if it doesn't bug you or a lot of people --but there are flaws. It happens. It's gamedev. It's a miracle any game is made at all --and this one is its own sort of miracle. What strikes me as strange is that I never see that level of excuses made for companies that do not cultivate that same image of being an unapproachable, united workforce, that get instead torn to shreds at the slightest sideway brush --but that's another subject maybe (maybe).
Narrative design is this thing that, when it's not there, people don't realize it could be; and when it is there, people take it for granted unless it's very visibly front and center like in Edith Finch or Disco Elysium or any other number of indie games (generally it's the indies who do all the research and development and take all of the risks on that front --like seriously I worked in narrative-driven studios, known for their narrative games, where 2/3 of the game designers couldn't care less about emotional impact beyond satisfaction/frustration/boredom, and it's infinitely frustrating (heh) to have your specialization considered optional fluff when you know how far thematic cohesion can push a game when handled well ANYWAY anyway). So: I was always going to care about the way they handled narrative, because it's how I'm wired, what I research, and I also played this game in part because I was very curious on how they'd push their explorations of BotW's possibilities, which were very interesting if a little limited. Needless to say, this was a let down. And I think it's not unreasonable to have higher narrative standards than this.
I do want to autocorrect myself on a statement I put out before, however, that being the notion that not enough research was put into narrative. I think I want to push forward a new theory that sounds much more plausible to me (again based on nothing but speculation and weird déjà-vu vibes, which is perhaps why I care that much :) :) ), and that being: a lot of research was done, and then cut. It seems very plausible the narrative used to be much more ambitious than this --and then, for one reason or another, somebody panicked, or the thing got out of hand, or they couldn't get it to work exactly right, and everything was downscoped pretty late into production. Six years of development is a long time, and I don't think anyone with the standards of a Nintendo employee would have been happy with handling the storyline the way it was. It kinda feels like a rushed cobble-up of loose threads after a massive downsizing, leaving plot holes and suboptimal emotional experience. Again: just a theory, no proof at all. But I absolutely wouldn't be surprised, and it would explain a lot of things.
#asks#thoughts#totk#totk spoilers#totk critical#gamedev#narrative design#sheikah#botw#as for the lore as a sandbox: yes! I agree#tloz#but here they tried to shut doors instead of opening them almost?#I mean not really#but it is obviously a soft reboot#I don't know there is this sort of vague contempt for zelda lore/story enjoyers that permeate a lot of the discourse#which I find weird and unfair#like it's one of the last forms of gamer nerdiness worthy of mockery that a lot of other fanbases seem to have outgrown#nobody can agree on what feels like Zelda or what part of Zelda is important!! that's the zelda fandom: arguing about what is Zelda!!#and story fans were always an important subpart of the fanbase#not you anon but general internet dwellers have this sneering “you enjoy the game wrong so it's not for you” attitude#when it's clearly and demonstrably untrue (or it has been in the past)#and if it ends up becoming true... then isn't it a sad thing?#why are we scoffing at the people who don't feel at home with zelda anymore?#especially when they very well still could if some *truly* minor effort was being made in their favor?#anyway thanks for the ask! I hope I make some sort of sense!

16. what are your writing strengths?
I'd like to say worldbuilding and fun metaphors/analogies! or maybe action scenes? and if i know the character well enough (*cough*beidou*cough*) then maybe characterization
17. what are your writing weaknesses?
I NEED TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO STOP RAMBLING. brain starts yapping and it doesn't stop, and then i don't know what details to cut because everything starts looking important ahhhhhh (so probably pacing??)
18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Depends! full dialogue? probably nah, since it sometimes breaks the flow, but a word here or there because it works better and people presumably know what it means? then yea! Might need to do some translations/linking shenanigans in the AN if i ever end up doing that tho
19. first fandom you wrote for?
Naruto LMFAOOO
20. favorite fic you've written?
I'd like to say mora for a myth, because its been a while since ive had that type of productivity and motivation? but honestly im not that sure lol
tagging: @yuniemaki, @lisascumslut78, @fishareglorious, @mireillexy, @bardigrade if yall feel like it, and anyone else that wants to give it a go :D
#tag game#hua-fei-hua#fic asks#...goes i haven't finished a fic in a while huh#ngl im also surprised by how many anon'd fics i have LMAO

This has been going on with me for a little bit over 2 years now and me nor my aunt (who's a nurse) knows what's going on with me and I've fainted many times because of it, and Keigo is one of my biggest comfort charcters and it's embarrassing but him kinda being there when this is happening is just is oddly calming lmao

↳ Requested; 30th March, 2023

( 12. ) Hiii! If it’s alright, may I request some general Eddie Blight dating head canons? Thank you :D
↳ Requested; 19th April, 2023
( 13. ) Hi! Hope your having a nice day! could I request a Hunter x Shapeshifter!reader just some hcs of Hunter w a reader who can turn into different animals and mimic people/voices and uses said abilities to be a menace and cause chaos just cuz they can no real reasoning behind it it’s just fun.
Also here’s some ideas I’ve had about reader for if you do choose to do this request that might help!
-> I feel like reader would probably be able to change their body to be able to take on like a half form of things so like they could give them-self ears or like wings (I personally rlly like wings) and depending on if they have a ‘Main form’ of sorts they could probably have some of the features of that thing like idk enhanced hearing or their good at being quiet/Sneaky.
-> Also I imagine that they might get like aches if they haven’t done it in a long while just based on the fact that in a way it’s like changing your bones/Bone structure if that makes sense so if they do it too much (Like an unhealthy amount like every single day for hours on end) Or haven’t done it in a long time they’d get aches n stuff
->They would probably use smaller/Quieter forms to scare/sneak up on people
-> I also just wanted to quickly mention that they might have a ‘main form’ that’s kinda just like the thing they first ever turned into and is something they turn into when they don’t rlly think about it
If not that’s fine too! Thanks for reading my request :]
↳ Requested; 21st April, 2023
( 14. ) I saw in your sensitivity HC’s that you bc Hunter has a mommy kink and I was hoping you could elaborate on that more? NSFW? If you’re comfortable of course if not then please direct me to a list of rules so I can refrain from making you uncomfy again ❤️
↳ Requested; 21st April, 2024
( 15. ) hi hi!! hope ur doing well ^^ can i request some headcanons for luz and hunter? so in my head this would take place when the gang is trapped in the human world but ya know do whatever’s fun or makes the most sense. reader is like one of one luz’s few human school friends, and maybe they see Hunter around town with luz sometimes start like, developing a crush on him ya know? so they start asking luz about him and its like OBVI theyre like sorta into him even though they haven’t actually? talked? and they aren’t ASKING to talk to him either, they’re being avoidant in a very “teenage crush” way, but maybe they start asking luz to put in a good word for them, or asking what he likes or like asking luz to give him stuff for them. just their general reactions would be fun!! sorry if this is too much lol
↳ Requested; 24th April, 2023
( 16. ) Hey um. If rq are open Will you pretty please do a Hunter x Wild Witch!Reader, who specializes in Beast Keeper magic? They know the ins-and-outs of all the little (and big) critters of the Boiling Isles, and whenever they see something, they just go "NEW FRIEND!! MUST PET!!" So Hunter is VERY concerned for their well-being.
"Will you PLEASE leave the WILD GRIFFIN alone?!" "But he needs head scritches!! Griffins can't reach their heads!! :<" "... Just be careful. Please." -A convo that happens every week other week
Love your work btw<3
↳ Requested; 6th May, 2023
( 17. ) Hiii I love your writing 🫶 could you do hexsquad like reactions to seeing you again after they returned from the human realm?
↳ Requested; 23rd May, 2023

Being with you is the only good thing in the world anymore, Y/n.", "Just stay a little longer. Please, Y/n." and [She gives her gentle kisses on his tear-stained cheeks for comfort] about his shy!female!human! reader comforts Hunter (TOH)in her room at Eda's home for Hollow Mind aftermath? 😭💕

I know you've been asked this before, but still, now since toh has ended would you consider giving Arcane a chance? Not right away but maybe when feel like it. 👀
I promise it's not a bad show, I watched it after starting toh to pass the time. It's only 1 season for now and it has just 9 episodes, but these episodes are so packed! The world building is easy to grasp, the characters do interact, there's development, it has a diverse female cast and fighting scenes. There's at least 3 conflicts that interconnect at the end.
The thing about it that amazes me is that it does so much in such a little short time, 9 episodes only. I often compare it toh and wonder about how much toh could've done if they knew how to plan beforehand, because toh had all the time in the world in comparison. (I'm mentioning this because I'm also bitter about the shortening thing being thrown around to excuse the bad writing).
So I will 100% admit that Arcane sounds entirely up my alley. It's in a universe that has had literally over a decade to flesh out its lore and ideas, characters they've been working with for at least half the games life cycle, it has rave reviews, lesbians, the animation is GORGEOUS, I've actually heard surprisingly little analyzing the plot and that could be fun for me. I... just don't know why I haven't watched it. And it's not like I'm so busy as to not watch shows. I watch WAY too much Youtube and streams. That stuff is mostly mindless and pure entertainment and I can't make blogs or stories about it. But that might also be exactly why I don't watch much scripted content. See, I watch a lot of stuff while I'm on walks to have some noise going, or music while I think about writing ideas, or while I'm playing a game or the like. It's distraction. It's to turn off the part of my brain that's too wound up and emotional and analytical. Also a lot of media has the unfortunate problem of me going "What can I be inspired by this for?" Which if I was going full blast would be great! At 8k words a day, having things to distract me or keep my motor running would be almost necessary. And that's technically a conservative statement as when I first joined TOH, I did 200k words in 2 weeks. That's 15k a day. The fact that it took me months to burn out during that time period is a miracle. But when I'm depressed? Those ideas honestly hurt more than anything else. I still haven't done Amphibia blogs because I just can't get myself to bring my thoughts together independently on the subject for some reason despite the fact that I DO have things to talk about, whether that be talking about what sells the characters as family to me, what makes Sasha's introduction one of the best charismatic villains I've ever seen, how Hop Pop is showcase of fantasy trauma done right, why people CAN skip the first season and how insane that is and even for a more negative one: Why Marcy is so far easily the most awkward element of the show so far that I've seen. Not even bad but just not nearly as natural as the rest. And yes, while I'm still only at the First Temple, you can still send me Amphibia asks. It honestly helps my literal personality disorder to be responding to asks instead of making them myself.
I don't know. I wish I did. My head is a chaotic mess and I honestly just need to learn to calm down a lot more but my literal two main disciplines as a creator require my brain to be on. at maximum volume all the time. And it only gets worse when I go "Well what about Amphibia, or that TMNT series, or Molly Mcgee- Oh but you really ought to be looking for something new. Preferably something you can write for within its first week of airing. Even better if before then. Got to get that ENGAGEMENT after all! GROW YOUR COMMUNITY!" *sigh* And I don't want this to make you all feel bad. PLEASE let me know what you're interested in seeing me maybe talk about. I commonly forget about Arcane because it just flies under my radar for the most part for some reason. Just understand I'm slow to move. I'm trying to get better but I don't know when or if I'll ever be good at it. Edit: Because I feel like it, I do want to shout out a few channels I like to watch. Youtube: Noah Caldwell Gervais is one of the best video game essayists out there. When I talk about just putting on something to zen out to for a few hours... Well, I've watched his 8 hour Resident Evil Retrospective twice. He also has a great, dry sense of humor and great analytical skills. Todd in the Shadows is where I go for pop song reviews. Honestly, I'm pulled in more by his One Hit Wonderland Series and his Trainwreckords but it's also nice getting incite on modern pop music. If you're into animation, you NEED New Frame Plus in your life. Daniel Floyd is absolutely amazing at his job, he's ex-Pixar so that's not surprising, and pretty much all I know about animation comes from that channel. Absolutely phenomenal work. Twitch: CauseImDanJones is my favorite streamer period. Not only is his chill vibes immaculate, he has this insane talent to say the most bat shit crazy things and act like they're entirely normal. He never is an over the top streamer but he still manages some of that "WHAT JUST HAPPENED!?" energy those people have. JHobz296 is someone you likely know if you watch GDQ. For those who don't know him though: He's my go to for speedrun content. He does a lot of Kingdom Hearts speedruns, does a lot of Kingdom Hearts 2 Rando WAY better than I do and when he does variety, he keeps it laid back and casual. (I like chill streamers). Gilbot9000 is my last callout. He does a lot of fighting game streams and likes to throw it back old school, or play games with an old school vibe to them. He's a nice dude and a good friend of mine so I'd be remiss to not mention him.

oh wow!! ok ok bet let me try respond and also clarify some things
ALRIGHT so the first image and the second last image are connected. it’s more like tapestry if picard actually looked 21. q copying him sorta because i like the idea of him doing that, almost like what he does in star trek picard. the one of them in the bed is sort of like. evil tapestry bed scene.
the writing “i need to relax i think” was just me writing to myself but interpreting that as dialogue is really cool i dig it.
the second image is homestuck bs. now i never read it myself, but ive always really enjoyed classpecting. classpecting has always been ultra intriguing to me cus character’s personality dictating what powers they get is fun as hell. my friend (who IS a homestuck fan) classpected picard as a mage of light and q as a lord. i suggested q being a lord of breath and we went with it. search up classpecting character analysis, it’s really interesting actually.
THE 80S AU! honestly the accuracy of the au jumps back and forth up and down depending on what we (mark and i) want for the au. heres the doc i’ve made for it (it’s pretty bare bones but theres some stuff in there). we also have a playlist lol. i don’t imagine it being as qcard focused as the other aus i’ve made, the qcard focus is purely because they are in my brain all of the time. honestly its mostly an excuse for me to associate characters with music genres i like lol
the relationship between q and picard in the 80s au is. um. very intense. won’t go into too much detail but q and picard do things that neither is incredibly proud of lol
human q drawing exists for two reasons: 1) scenario where q remains human for longer and what happens in naked now is pushed back to this point 2) bums are funny
the multiple au drawing was poking fun at the amount of aus mark and i have made but the scenario you came up with is awesome lolol picard is so tired… give him a break
when i first watched qpid i really loved the idea of q and vash striking a friendship and immediately going off on adventures with each other. i hadn’t realised there were romantic implications until my friend brought it up to me and i remember being lowkey upset about it haha. now though, i really do like the idea of friends with benefits/relationship for all the wrong reasons between the both of them because it really opens them up for so much character analysis. why rebound to each other? are they monogamous or is it extremely casual? why does q say he left vash when vash seems to think she left him? is he lying? why did she leave him? why was q so desperate to keep vash with him in q-less? does it have anything to do with his deal with picard? etc etc . in my head i have an animated miniseries about q and vash going on adventures with each other haha i started drawing more of this idea out and was even thinking about making a fake pitch bible (which i’ll probably end up keeping to myself lol) also maybe something about tng picard talking to stp q … who knows
jacques is such a little tragic character because his parents are. them. younger jacques takes after q so i reckon picard has to deal with two different entities who both desperately want his attention lolol
as usual, another really fun post :oD i really like reading thru these long reblogs of yours
qcard drawings from the past few. uh. since whenever i last uploaded ig

Using A Spark in Fate Core to Build My World
I thought I’d show you my process through A Spark in Fate Core, a worksheet for creating an original campaign setting. This doubles as a writing tool and something that will contribute to gameplay, even after going through it, so I think it’s worth showing what I ended up doing before formulating that introductory post.
Since Spark in Fate was made specifically for Fate Core, a TTRPG I’m not using, I’m using part of it. I also homebrewed this a bit, since it’s built for collaborative worldbuilding and I’m just doing this on my own, but not that much..
Step 1: List Media
Going into this project, all I knew about it was that I wanted it to be kinky, in a world that’s atleast better than real life, and related to space. This first step, which is to list some media that I like or has things that I want in my world, will help me get a more solid idea. I’m not going to justify my choices, because I don’t have to, not until step 2.
Usually, you would have 1 or 2 per player. I picked 3 total, which is a bit less than you’d normally have, but that’s because of a future step.
Cowboy Bebop
Star Trek
Tekken 3
I didn’t need all of the media to be sci-fi, and in fact, only 2 have space travel. I didn’t need media with a story, either. I’m actually pretty sure that, every time I’ve done this with an actual group, atleast one person gives an album. I make a point that it works just as well as anything else. I picked these because they were either cool, or were cool and also had themes I wanted to explore.
Step 2: List Inspirations
After asking for some of the stuff I like, Spark in Fate then has the gall to ask ‘why’. This means I have to pinpoint specific things in the media I’ve listed that I want to see in my world, and put that concept into a phrase that’ll be called an inspiration. I went for 1 ‘cool’ inspiration and 1 ‘thematic’ inspiration for each piece of information, just to keep a balance or something.
I’ll describe my thought process for deciding each inspiration. I won’t go in depth about how that inspiration relates to the media it comes from, because I don’t need the inspirations to be perfectly reminiscent of how they were explored in the media I chose.
Cowboy Bebop
Bounty Hunting
This felt like a good way to facilitate swashbucklery duels, and maybe have an excuse to explore dub-con/cnc style dynamics.
Holding on to Identity
I tend to get bored of sex that just exists for its own sake (acespecs gonna acespec), so I figured it’d be fun to ask what makes sex, and for that matter, romance and gender as well, meaningful to the characters doing it.
Star Trek
Space Adventure
It’s fun, you should try it! That, and I recently came across a book called “Elf Genders” that has tables for randomly rolling genders for fantasy cultures. I won’t use that specific book, because some of the tables are checks for if certain things are discriminated against, and I just don’t want to introduce that in this game. I’m giving it a shoutout because it made me realize that it’s kinda silly how aliens in media are often just a couple of genders that humans ended up with, and I thought I’d contribute to rectifying that.
Almost Utopic
Utopian fiction appeals to me because I just think it’s a more productive way to comment on real world issues, and because not being depressing doesn’t make something less intelligent or meaningful. I went with ‘Almost Utopic’, partially to acknowledge that Star Trek’s politics aren’t perfect, but mainly because it makes fitting it into the Thirsty Sword Lesbians framework slightly more straightforward.
Tekken 3
Expressive Fighting Styles
I like when characters have fighting styles that fit their personality, and are flashy to the point of ‘that would never work in a real fight’. Basically, professional wrestling.
Tech Awakening Old Horrors
I wanted to interrogate the idea that technological advancement is inherently good. Obviously, as a tool, it's done some pretty cool things like develop modern medicine and make long distance communication practical, I guess. I’m more talking about the idea that we should have more powerful technology just for the sake of it, and thought maybe having really powerful technology that poses an existential threat could be a good jumping off point. I didn’t intend to end up with ‘fossil fuels but Lovecraftian’ but maybe I can lean into that.
Step 3: Genre
This is when you pick a genre and put an adjective infront of it to make it more unique. That’s about it. It sounds easy, but with a group, it can sometimes take awhile…
Anyway, I went with “Kinky Sci-Fi Adventure”, of course.
Step 4: Scale
Ironically, this is another one-question-long step. It asks what problems the PCs will need to face, ranging from small town drama to saving the world from a mad god. This is actually a pretty complicated question when you put it in the context of a single campaign, which is probably why it gets its own step. It asks you to say something like ‘small scale’ or ‘big scale’, but then add a phrase to elaborate on the nature of that scale.
I plan on this campaign being a monster-of-the-week with space travel and rival characters. Since the broader problems of the world aren’t being tackled (atleast, not in the start), this would actually be a ‘small scale’ campaign. I’ll specify that the setting takes place in a large location, but focuses on a certain type of character.
I went with “Small Scale (Space, but Filled with Rivals)”.
Step 5: Establish the Facts
At last, I get to start putting in some more tangible elements into this world. Normally what would happen is the DM would ask a question (my favorite starting question is ‘What does mundane life here look like?’, but that’s neither here nor there), and a player answers it in a way that incorporates one of the inspirations. Then, that player asks another question, and another player answers it by incorporating another inspiration. This goes on until every inspiration is incorporated, making sure everyone gets to ask and answer a question.
When I’m doing this on my own, I sometimes write down a question and randomly roll for what inspiration to use to answer it. For this campaign, I don’t have to, because Thirsty Sword Lesbians has a worksheet for worldbuilding, with questions that I can use for this process. This is why I only used 3 pieces of media with 6 inspirations, because there were six questions that I wanted to pull from the TSL worksheet.
Since the questions were decided by another source, I just picked the inspirations I wanted to use.
What community does the PC live in?
The Sell-Whips. (Expressive Fighting Styles)
What’s the scale of this community?
Scattered across two galaxies. (Space Adventure)
What is especially positive about this community?
Complete and mutual respect for each-other’s needs. (Holding on to Identity)
What is a serious flaw of your community?
Sometimes you need to ‘grab’ someone to help keep the ship running. (Bounty Hunting)
What poses a threat to your community?
The sorta benevolent Federation, which pressures others to assimilate to a specific way of life. (Almost Utopic)
What poses a threat to the world?
The chaotic, powerful, and destructive Extinction-Tech. (Tech Awakening Past Horrors)
Step 6: Name Your Child
It wants a title for the world. Most groups skip this step. I figured there’s no better title than my blog title, so refer to that and continue to Step 7.
Step 7: Step 7
This is Step 7. It’s the step where ‘Sparks’ are come up with, root problems that have an effect on the entire world, and it’s the last step that I want to do. This step exists even for small scale campaigns, because they give an understanding of where more local problems originate. This is normally done by each player thinking of 2 sparks, but I like to make sparks usings the facts I established in Step 5, which is not Step 7. Step 7 is this.
Remember these Sparks, they’re the whole reason why I thought this process was worth showing. They’ll come up in a future, similarly ‘behind the curtain’ post, and will hopefully play a huge role when actual gameplay starts.
It’s a dangerous job, but someone’s gotta do it. (The Sell-Whips.)
Interstellar travel takes a while. (Scattered across two galaxies.)
Sell-Whips stick together. (Complete and mutual respect for each-other’s needs.)
Sell-Whips hunt each other. (Sometimes you need to ‘grab’ someone to help keep the ship running.)
Life’s hard for those who aren’t homogenous. (The sorta benevolent Federation, which pressures others to assimilate to a specific way of life.)
Extinction-Tech is never good news. (The chaotic, powerful, and destructive Extinction-Tech.)
In later steps, a group or solo player would create more local issues, and then create some key characters and places. I plan on doing all that without Spark in Fate, so that’s why I’ve neglected them. I just needed to come up with a skeleton (or the outside of the iceberg, if you’ve seen that Brandon Sanderson lecture that one time), and get those Sparks as a secret tool that will help out later. It’ll be a bit until I start the actual journal, I got some homebrew ideas I want put into writing, plus a bunch of rivals and my PC’s crew, but next post will have atleast a little bit of narrativeness to it.

throwing ideas your way in case you want them (NOTHING underage): 1- dick loves being held by bruce (bruce loves it, too; whispering sweet and filthy things to him depending on the mood); 2- phone s*x or s*xting/pics; 3- au where they're not heroes (lawyers, drs, bankers); 4- skinny dipping or another getaway; 5- mutual m**turbation; 6- dick surprising b with something really nice/meaningful.
yo are we allowed to have p()rn on this website again, because if so maybe i'll take a run at a few of these other ideas sometime too. but in the meantime, here's a piping hot #6 for you!
perfectly safe for work unless your work doesn't want you using tumblr during business hours. established relationship, no smut, lots of feels, light angst. tried to do my best by romani dick & jewish bruce and then fell down a rabbit hole of 20th century circus town history.
thank you for your prompts and please, folks, feel free to keep 'em coming!
-----------------------------------------------------
These days, when mail addressed to Dick Grayson arrives at Wayne Manor, which hasn’t been his legal residence in like a decade, it’s generally an excuse for Bruce to have a little fun with it.
(“This relationship is very new, still,” he said the last time, sitting somberly across from Dick at the breakfast table with an envelope in his hand. “Things are delicate between us, Dick.”
“I understand that. We’ve talked about this before, Bruce. I know you want to take things slow.”
“I do. That’s why I’m concerned. It’s far too early to be telling everybody at -” as he looked down at the envelope with a solemnly furrowed brow - “Gotham City Bank Preferred Platinum Visa Rewards Card that we’re moving in together.”
“Very funny.”
“I know you’re preapproved for a special offer with 0% interest APR, but -”
“Oh, just give me the goddamn envelope and shut up.”)
But this time, both he and Alfred see the return address on the big cardboard box when it arrives, and they know whatever is inside, they can’t joke about this.
Gibsonton, Florida has been the winter home of circus and carnival performers since the early Depression. Its unique zoning laws allow residents to keep everything from monkeys to elephants to giant tents and trailers on their property, and in its glory days it was a safe, albeit colorful and bizarre, home for all kinds of people who might have been treated like freaks anywhere else. Pop Haly had been born there, back when the town was at its wildest, and had always spoken of it fondly, though in Dick’s time the circus traveled so far and wide that they didn’t really take whole winters off anymore the way they used to, so his memories of the place were more fragmented.
It would not take Batman - or even an ordinary detective - to figure out what’s in the box. Alfred gets there just as quickly as Bruce.
“Master Richard did mention plans for the circus to sell off some of the assets that were no longer in use, in order to reinvest them in the new permanent site,” the butler ventures. “I do not recall specifics, but I would imagine property -”
“And somebody going through it for sale found something that belonged to the Graysons.”
“Would you like to call him, sir, or shall I?”
Bruce shakes his head. “It’s Wednesday. He’ll be here at seven for dinner anyway. Leave it on his bed in his old room. He might want to be alone when he opens it. We don’t have any way of knowing what’s in that box, or how it will make him feel.”
He doesn’t get answers to either of those questions that night. Dick finds Bruce in the study and kisses him hello with an easy smile, but it falls off his face like a painting on a loose nail when he hears the word “Gibsonton.” He’s alone upstairs for so long that Alfred has to put the chicken pot pies back in the oven to keep warm, and when he comes back down to the dining room he’s uncharacteristically reserved and somber.
“What did he tell you?” Alfred asks Bruce quietly, as he helps the butler carry the dishes into the kitchen, leaving Dick staring wordlessly into his coffee and playing with a brownie he isn’t really eating.
“Nothing. I didn’t ask.”
“Not even to see if he was all right?”
“He’s not all right,” Bruce says simply. “It’s private, Alfred. If he wants to tell us, he will.”
But he doesn’t say anything over coffee and brownies, and he doesn’t say anything as he puts the box in the trunk of his car and drives home, and he doesn’t say anything for days and weeks afterward.
Bruce still doesn’t ask. But he hasn’t stopped wondering.
* * * * *
It’s nearly two months before the topic comes up again.
It’s a nice night, warm for October, the skies clear. Bruce is sitting alone with a cup of coffee on one of the benches near a corner of the grounds where the leaves are already turning. He still has a few hours before it’s time to leave for patrol, and it’s peaceful here. His parents liked this spot. It’s gotten easier, slowly but surely over the years since Dick came into his life, to live alongside their ghosts without feeling quite so . . . haunted. He can remember the nice moments without as much pain. When he was little, after the fall leaves were raked up into piles but before the landscapers hauled them away, Bruce was permitted to jump in them. He liked the crunching sound.
He hears the same sound behind him suddenly, an odd coincidence, and turns to see Dick approaching across the flagstones, scattered red and gold leaves crackling under his feet.
“You’re early,” he says, smiling, and moves aside to make room on the bench.
“Alfred said I’d find you here.”
Everything okay?”
“Yes. Yeah. I just had something -” Dick pauses, shaking his head a little like he’s gathering his thoughts, and takes a seat beside Bruce. They look up at the stars in silence for a few moments. Bruce doesn’t press him. Dick will talk when he’s ready. He always does.
“So you probably remember that box,” he says finally. He doesn’t look at Bruce as he speaks. “The one that came here for me.”
Bruce nods. “I remember.”
Another silence.
“You know, I kept waiting for you to ask me what was in it,” Dick says.
“It was private.”
“Like you’ve never seen me opening the mail and asked, ‘oh, a package! Who’s it from?’”
“I know exactly what Gibsonton is, Dick. Did you want me to ask, or were you afraid of me asking?”
“I don’t really know,” says Dick.
“Are you bringing it up because you want to tell me now?”
This silence lasts even longer than the others. Bruce doesn’t reach out to touch him, or turn to look at his face, but he lets his knee shift leftward just a centimeter or two, enough to bump lightly against Dick’s. I’m right here, the gesture says. Take your time.
“There was a warehouse on the property,” Dick finally says, eyes fixed on the trees in front of him. “All the other outbuildings were empty, easy enough to get them ready for the sale, but behind the stable there was a big old bunker of a thing I didn’t remember when the real estate agent sent me the photos. All she told me at the time was that the guy who was managing the property had found some personal effects in there and needed access to Pop Haly’s list of addresses of former employees. It was full of shelves with crates and bins on them, labeled, personal things people didn’t want to take with them on the road. I didn't think anything of it, I didn't assume there'd be anything in there for me, so I just sent over the copy I had in the paperwork he left me. But it must have been old -"
"Because the address he had for you was here."
"Gibsonton was home base, see," Dick goes on. "The place they always came back to. Sometimes when you were going out on a long-haul, you might leave a box there for the crew to watch over, if there were things you didn’t want to get lost or broken from months of traveling in a caravan.”
His voice has been impressively steady up until now, but when Bruce hears it begin to break a little, he steps in to let Dick breathe for a moment.
“So the property manager went through the warehouse to ready it for sale,” he guesses, “and found a box with your name on it. Things you didn’t go back for, because you stayed here in Gotham and didn’t go back to Gibsonton when the rest of the circus did.”
“Not my name,” says Dick, and he reaches out for Bruce’s hand.
Bruce exhales deeply. “Oh.”
They sit there like that for a long time. The moon’s almost full. A faint breeze shivers through the tree nearest them - a dogwood, which always erupts into riotous white and pink blossoms each spring - and a few red-gold leaves flutter downward.
“They left a bunch of things in Gibsonton that they didn’t have room for anymore in the caravan after they had me,” Dick says. “Things from their life before.”
“I see.”
“Things that were fragile, or delicate, or just things that there wasn’t a daily use for, so they had to choose between that and, you know, diapers and a stroller and all that. We never had a lot of room. And going from two people to three people in the same tiny space -”
“Of course.”
“They left a lot of things behind,” Dick says, and there’s something strange in his voice. “They left a lot of things behind, to make room for me.”
Bruce turns and looks at him, and squeezes his hand. “You don’t need me to be the one to tell you that nothing they left behind in a cardboard box in Gibsonton, Florida was more precious to them than you were,” he says, “but I’ll say it anyway, if it would help you to hear it out loud.”
Dick gives him a fleeting, weary smile before moving in closer, resting his head on Bruce’s shoulder. At the implicit signal that Dick wants comfort, that proximity and touch are now more important than the distance and silence he’d seemed to require when he first sat down, Bruce puts his arm around him, letting Dick curl up into the massive, sturdy wall of his chest. It seems to ease something in the younger man, who lets out a long, exhausted sigh.
“The biggest thing in it was a lamp," Dick says. "The base is a glass elephant. Mom told me about it once. She’d had it in her bedroom as a little girl. She’d dreamed of joining the circus because she wanted to make friends with an elephant. They’re matriarchal, did you know that?”
“I did.”
“Mom had dreams as a little kid of a trapeze act starring her and a bunch of girl elephants. They would be her best friends, she said. It always made me laugh when she told me about it. They left the lamp in Florida after she got pregnant; Dad was afraid a kid running around a space that small would knock it over, and he knew it was special to her. He always said someday, after they’d retired, they’d buy a little house somewhere, and -”
Dick’s voice breaks off. Bruce squeezes his shoulder.
“We always think we have more time,” Bruce says simply.
Dick nods. “Yeah.”
“It’s nice that you have it now.”
“That was the biggest thing in there,” Dick says. “There were some antique-looking books, and a really old dress - like a prom dress maybe. And some jewelry - nothing, you know, fancy, they weren’t rich, but things that were special. A few pieces that I think were maybe my grandmother’s. I remember them from photos. And a glass box full of shells. They must have collected them somewhere. Maybe on vacations, or maybe when the circus was traveling and hit seaside towns. Dad always liked to go to the beach on days off if we could.”
He sits up, pulling away from Bruce a bit, and reaches into his pocket to pull something out of it - something small enough to fit inside his closed fist, which he doesn’t open right away.
“And then there was . . . there was something else.”
Bruce turns and looks at him. Dick’s eyes are thoughtful, and warm, and a little sad.
“I think she forgot it was in her jewelry box,” he says, looking down at his hand, still clenched tight around something Bruce can’t see. “She talked about it a lot, actually. She always believed she’d lost it somewhere. She wasn’t a terribly superstitious person, it wasn’t that, not really, but it was a habit. And it was special to her. She’d gotten it from her mother.” He opens his palm and looks down into it, but Bruce still can’t quite see what he’s holding. “And the first thing I thought when I opened the box . . .” He shakes his head suddenly, looking up at Bruce with his eyes suspiciously bright. “I’m not explaining this very well,” he says apologetically.
“Take as much time as you need,” says Bruce.
Dick opens his palm all the way, and holds it out for Bruce to see. It’s a tiny gold oval, tarnished and faded. It looks very, very old. Bruce isn’t Christian, but he’s seen enough holy medals to know one when he’s looking right at it. And despite the fact that whatever graven image the medal once held is impossible to make out - probably long since worn down by decades' worth of fingers rubbing it for luck - he knows enough about Mary Grayson to make an educated guess.
“Saint Sarah?” he guesses. “Patron saint of the Romani.” Dick nods. “This was your grandmother’s?”
“At least,” says Dick. “Maybe older. Mom didn’t really know. She said that her mother gave it to her as a child, for protection, and told her that nothing bad could ever happen to her as long as she had it with her.” He closes his eyes. “She didn’t know it was in the jewelry box, she didn’t know it was in Gibsonton,” he says dully. “She thought she’d lost it. Used to joke about how that meant she was unlucky now. It was funny, when I was little. Every time she got stung by a bee or something went wrong at rehearsal or she was the only one in the whole circus who caught whatever cold was going around, she and Dad would laugh about it. ‘If only you’d had your Saint Sarah medal, this would never have happened.’” One bright tear wavers for a moment on his thick black lashes before falling. Bruce watches its slow progress over the rise of Dick’s cheekbone and down his jaw, wanting to kiss it away but uncertain whether that’s pushing the moment too far. “The medal was in the jewelry box all those years,” he whispers, “and they only left the jewelry box in Gibsonton because they had me.”
Bruce is a pretty good detective, true, but he also knows Dick Grayson better than anyone else in the world, and Dick doesn’t need to say it out loud for Bruce to know exactly what fear is haunting him.
“Your parents’ death was not your fault,” he says quietly, moving closer and leaning forward just enough to rest his forehead against Dick’s. “Even if your grandmother’s belief was provable, Dick, even if the medal truly was some kind of talisman invoking the protection of a patron saint - well, I know very little about saints, but I have a hard time imagining any of them granting or withholding their favor as capriciously as that. Your mother didn’t discard it, after all. She didn’t give up on Saint Sarah because the medal was lost. Perhaps she had her own kind of private rituals or devotions that she maintained in her own way.” He takes Dick’s empty hand and squeezes it. “Or perhaps she had less need of a talisman in her life to make her feel like the luckiest woman in the world,” he murmurs, “once her child was born and she realized how blessed she really was. Maybe she allowed herself to forget it because she didn’t need it anymore, the way she had when she was a child. Maybe it was all right for her to let it go. Mary Grayson always seemed to me like a woman who made her own luck. And her life was more than the worst thing that ever happened to her. She would be happy that her things have finally come home to you, Dick, but she would never, ever want you to blame yourself for being the reason that she’s gone.”
Dick sinks heavily against Bruce’s chest, not fully crying yet but not able to speak either. Bruce can feel the emotions pressing him down with a palpable weight. He’s so preoccupied with listening to Dick’s breathing to make sure it’s steady and he isn’t heading towards an anxiety attack, that at first he doesn’t notice the feeling of something small and warm and hard being pressed into the palm of his hand.
He looks up at Dick, who closes Bruce’s fist around the medal and lays his own hand over it before lifting his head to meet Bruce’s eyes.
“I know you don’t believe in it,” he says. “I don’t even know if I believe in it. But I need you to take it. I need you to have this, Bruce. Keep it with you, and don’t let it go. I’ll sleep better if you do.”
“Dick -”
"I lost you once," Dick says roughly. "I'm not going to lose you again."
Bruce closes his eyes. He doesn't know what to say.
“If anything ever happened to you, and I wasn’t there,” Dick tries to say, but he can’t quite get the words out.
“Dick,” Bruce says softly. “I’m honored to hold a piece of your family’s history. I’m honored to have this. It’s priceless to me, to have something in my life that belonged to your parents. I don’t want you to think that I don’t . . .” He swallows hard. “That I don’t know what this means.”
That your family is my family. That my family is your family. That if they were alive today, Mary Grayson would be my mother-in-law one day and Martha Wayne would be yours. That it would matter to you, that much, what they thought of me, and what I thought of them.
“So yes,” Bruce says. “I’ll keep this. I’ll keep it forever. I’ll treasure it. But I don’t need a talisman to protect me and keep me safe, Dick. I already have you. And you’re all I need.”

For anyone still under the impression that June Egbert is just a product of the Toblerone wishes with no particular relevance to Homestuck proper, here's an argument to the contrary: that June (or whatever you like to call her) was already here, woven into John's relationship with the idea of Dad.
Act 1 has a certain preoccupation with the ideal forms of things, John having multiple instances of saying X isn't a REAL X unless it has this or that characteristic. "A fire BELONGS in a fireplace, categorically." One of those outbursts touches upon masculinity, with John saying a gentleman without a monocle is a piss-poor excuse for such. Along such a paradigm, you might gather that something like John saying the beaglepuss sucks as a disguise or trying (and failing) to integrate Dad's pipe into the façade communicates that John is kind of grasping at this ideal of masculinity exemplified by Dad and getting frustrated that he can't seem to measure up to it (or that masculinity feels "fake" on him).
This sort of dynamic is more blatant with Dave, who talks openly about how he isn't a "hero", not really, measuring himself against the impossible standards set by his Bro. But as much was already implicit in Act 1.
Later it gets established that John has some kind of fear of heights: the first ogres appear after John experiences vertigo from almost falling off the stairs, and again after getting launched by the pogo hammer. (Just as Karkat suspected he was given a planet covered in his own blood as a form of harassment, Sburb placed John's house on that needle plateau because of this fear of heights; the game generally manifests adversaries in response to fear). The phobia becomes relevant to Dad stuff after the ogre fight is over, when John is hesitating to jump down into Dad's room: it isn't just that John's nervous about entering the room for the first time, the descent itself makes John anxious. Furthermore, this juxtaposition serves to establish that the fear of heights and anxieties around Dad are related somehow, if not outright synonymous. The two are associated again at the beginning of Act 5 Act 2, when dream!John tries to jump over a canyon to reach Dad, but awakens mid-leap. The formal reason John awakens is Vriska of course, but if we ignore her we're left with John approaching Dad and immediately experiencing vertigo. (The name "June" comes from Vriska contacting John shortly after this dream, incidentally)
This comes up again when John finds Dad's wallet and gets overwhelmed by the prospect of Manhood and the responsibilities it entails -- next thing you know John is flying around in Dad's car, having fun... and after the scene is interrupted by Seek the Highblood, we return to find John crashing the car (another fall from the sky!) and talking with Vriska about dread surrounding societal expectations, and the possibility of rejecting them to pursue something different for yourself. John came into the scene worried (if quietly) about the expectations surrounding manhood, so the Vriska conversation serves to makes those kind of concerns more vivid.
The car crash is itself kind of a metaphor for that conversation's trajectory... in Act 6 we see something analogous play out among the Dersites who have gotten into dapper-wear: one Dersite sits on a hat, panics about ruining it, and then begins to wonder if perhaps a crumpled hat could have a value of its own, aesthetically. (Dirk expresses this sort of counter-assessment more bombastically: "...the next best thing. By which you mean, the vastly superior thing.") Dad Crocker swoops in to condemn the crumpled hat, but the Dersite's tentative revaluation of an apparent failure mode is something the scene shares with Vriska, who initially regards her ambivalence towards murder as a symptom of personal failure, unbefitting her caste. John enters that conversation with a crumpled car, and from context we can guess John's revaluation concerns "failing" to be a man in the way Dad is, and how maybe that doesn't need to be considered a failure.
As laid out so far, I guess none of this quite necessitates trans-Egbert, since people can come at "anxiety and reservations at the prospect of embodying masculine ideals" from a number of angles... but there are other considerations which make me think wrestling with self-deprecating thoughts like "I'm a failed man" are maybe comorbid with a budding sense of being a girl, in Egbert's case.
Foremost, I think it helps to recognize that Dad's car can function as a symbol of John's body. To sketch a case for that:
1a. Death often means transformation: the trolls die in questcocoons to reach the godtiers, suggesting that death stands between the caterpillar and the butterfly, their too solid flesh dissolved into a goo.
1b. A command in Act 1 implores John to "retrieve arms from MAGIC CHEST". John complies twofold: we see some fake arms retrieved from the toy chest, held up by John's real arms which have been "retrieved" from John's ostensibly armless torso.
2. This dual usage of chest is deployed in part 3 of Openbound, in service of building a dysphoria metaphor (among other things). The segment reintroduces us to Fiduspawn, a game in which one creature hatches from another, a host creature, killing the host in the process (fans of the Alien films may recognize this as derivative of the "chestburster", fans of Homestuck may recognize this as analogous to godtiering). Damara (who Rufioh refers to as "doll") becomes the host plush, who is accused of locking away Rufioh's "happy thought" (Tinkerbull) in her "chest". Rufioh's beef with Damara serves to illustrate an adversarial relationship with one's own body, the ways in which the body itself seems to function as a barrier to some happiness. The carnal imprisonment of euphoria (the "happy thought") represents dysphoria. The conversation between Kanaya and Porrim which follows has analogous content and offers a potential resolution to such a conflict, with Kanaya coming to distinguish her body from the reproductive duties assigned to her body by her caste's place in society, and knowing that she is not "bound" to the Matriorb by any will but her own...
3. But the paradigm of Fiduspawn reminds us that the act of actually ripping the happy thought out of your chest has suicidal overtones, when taken literally. And Aradiabot notwithstanding, the inner ghosts the kids give up are often green: Dirkbot tears out his uranium heart and explodes, Rose peels pink bricks off the green core of an island and wonders aloud if her existence is a mistake, and (returning to our main topic!) John tries to retrieve the green package from Dad's car. The retrieval of the box comes to represents the birth of the self from its shell, the now broken body, a gesture which overlaps with the pursuit of death.
So we can infer that Dad is akin to Damara here, having locked the desired object (the box, the "happy thought") within a container that we can identify with John's own body. Thus Vriska's talk of perhaps rejecting her assigned role in society proceeds naturally from the wreckage of Dad's car: insofar as the car functions as an emblem of the masculine expectations imposed upon John, the car's wreckage suggests the possibility of liberation from those expectations, liberation from your own body. John is "sick to death of cake" -- cake is a Life symbol imposed by Dad, in visceral excess, accumulating as every birthday marches John towards Manhood. The possibility of living as a girl does not seem to have occurred to John yet, life and masculinity seem inextricable and absolute. The first time John sees Dad's car totaled (after Rose drops it), the symbol of self-as-corpse is surrounded by yellow bands of caution tape. The Authority Regulator who placed the tape will later declare himself to be THE LAW, and we should take his word for it: the scene's function is to declare that the crumpled car, the "dead" and therefore feminized body, is forbidden to John. No surprise then that as John marches to her death, in defiance of the Law's prohibition, she-whose-name-does-not-yet-suit-her is met with impressions of several maps that actually align with their territories: troll movies whose titles are their contents in full, a rocket encoded by the sound PCHOOOOO. John wants that for herself, I think. And as @lscholar once pointed out, it’s worth noting that John's pursuit of this unity (this pursuit of "death") is interrupted by Dave, who in saving John's life repeatedly emphasizes their status as "bros" -- masculinity being, again, inextricable from life within John’s symbol system.
...and that's the short of it. A more detailed account might get into the association of Vriska and other blue girls with the feminized corpse, or read into Equius self-consciously roleplaying as a cat girl between John’s joyride and crash, or perhaps try to apply this car-body framework to the appearances of Dad's car in the Epilogues. And I haven’t even touched upon clowns...but I'll call it here for now.
#homestuck commentary#john#i might do a follow up going into life metaphysics and how jade ties into things

okay , so I have a rather odd theory about this and I have not read all the books yet but please hear me out. So you know how the original humans came from a not fun situation. They were not in a good spot , they were practically seen as nothing more but laborers or poeple who were not worthy of being listened to . You know what also is kind of tied to laborers that give those same poeple an excuse to not listen to them?
They have no collage education because why should some one who just carry stuff possibly be worthy of listening to for intellectual ideas? Because labor is never there for the brain , its for the heavy work to carry the "important ones" who probably did have maybe a more decorative diploma then anything , so not only did these poeple get treated badly but they had to deal with a bunch of hypocrites who treated them unfairly. I get this kind of from the beginning of the first book when that guy gets the idea to go on the planet due to how the guild were disrespectful and also wanted to get the hell off the station.
So when these poeple came down there , not only they were humiliated by the treatment of those who were their superiors but when they did succeeded on getting down there they probably like "see , we don't need to listen to those guys who left use on that station, we can do everything fine"
Another way this could have influenced this is that 2 other reasons . One it may have given the mospheirans a weird kind of generational truma that comes out maybe ether Dunning-Kruger effect , illusory superiority, self serving bias , ultracrepidarin or maybe just Superiority complex. I kind of lack knowledge in that psychology but the complaints bren has towords the humans kind of back that area up.
The second thing is that it might be the reason why not only has psychology has not only not been developed on the planet but why they did not learn from the past, not only did they poeple come from those who were laborers but trying to get education to the planet would have been a nightmare. So not only were these poeple starting from literal scratch but they were also in the negative of the board before getting to square 1 of the game board.
This kind of it why one of the fanfic ideas I have is a bunch of human psychologists going to the planet to try to figure out how to apply psychology to the planet . I also call this little idea the "everyone in Foreigner attempts therapy" . If i said anything I missed then please let me know.
the more i think about the atevi the more i’m like i don’t get it, what about their behavior is inexplicable to these humans? i keep eyerolling at the concept that the war of the landing was about a misunderstanding about “friendship” because it keeps sounding to me that it was about a bunch of atevi being pissed off that humans just showed up and claimed land that belonged to them. And when told “hey that’s our land you bulldozed” the humans were like “okay sorry we didn’t know. but we’re here now whatcha gonna do ‘bout it hmmmm” like the only way the atevi response is surprising is if you’re expecting it to be like, an imperialist narrative where your technologically advanced white people are going to go in and civilize the dark natives in their colonization process, where by civilize they mean get them to be their servants and have them produce all the luxuries for the comfortable lives of their white colonizers. like, even when the humans lose the war and make a treaty that says they will piece by piece hand over all their technological knowledge, they have this SECRET PLAN which STILL supports the colonial idea, where they’re going to coax the atevi into producing all the things that THEY THEMSELVES need for their own technological happiness. has anyone on mospheira done any deep soul-searching about their own race history and internalized race narratives and thought about why they expected the black aliens to bow down and welcome white colonists? Like that’s not even the way earth’s colonial history actually went, it’s just the sanitized version white people like to tell themselves, the myth of the white man’s burden and shit like that

The Psychology of Us
Pairing: Wanda Maximoff x Reader
Word count: ~3.5k
Warnings: mentions of smut (nothing explicit)
Summary: It seems like you’ll never get the answers you want, but little did you know…
Author’s note: This is probably my favorite story yet. It got a little steamier than I originally planned, but I think it turned out okay. I hope the explanation makes sense, it’s something I do use in real life so I thought it’d be fun to write about. Anyhow, thank you for everyone who read, and have fun with the last part :D

Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3
“I know, I know, I’ll be at your place at seven.” You said to Angie as soon as she reached you.
The hallway was packed, yet you were still able to notice her presence.
“About that,” she sounded unsure, “I came to tell you about this small gathering Pietro is doing at his place tonight, and I was wondering if you’d come with me?”
“So I can be a third wheel? No thank you.”
“He will have other friends over too, don’t worry.”
“Then why can’t you go by yourself?”
“Because I don’t know any of them and I don’t want to be there all by myself.” She reasoned.
“Just stick by Pietro and you’ll be fine.”
“Please!” She pleaded, giving you her best puppy eyes.
You weren’t opposed to the idea of going to Pietro’s house, a small gathering would be a nice change of pace from your usual Friday night parties. But your mind was in a different place right now and a party wasn’t exactly on your plans. You couldn’t say no to her though, maybe you could sneak out early, who knows.
“Fine, I’ll go.” You gave in.
She cheered, hugging you eagerly, and walked away before you could change your mind.
It was Friday again and you were still stuck on the girl and her puzzle. You’d seen her seven more times in the past two weeks. Now you had compulsively read eight books in the span of one month. Eight books all due to her, it was more than Diego reads in the same time.
Even your family was starting to question this sudden new hobby. Aalways keeping yourself locked in your room or with your nose deep down into a different book wasn’t normal.
Despite that, you were no closer to solving the mystery that was the girl from the library. She refused to give you her name when you asked her for it. She refused to explain the logic behind her recommendations. She just had fun watching you drown in frustration.
You were close to giving up, to start avoiding her until you forgot completely about the whole situation. But you enjoyed these moments. You were excited at the prospect of seeing her, not that you’d ever admit it out loud.
Of course, all this excitment died down the moment she started to mock you for nothing, with that annoying smirk painting those perfect stupid lips of hers, growing your desire to wipe it off of her.
There was something, though, that caught your attention, something about the books she recommended. You enjoyed them, you savoured every story, every plot, every character. Diego always tried to get you to read some of his favourite books and you gave up after a few pages. But not these ones, you liked them, and you had to figure out what kind of spell she used to make you like them so much.
“I think I’m going insane.” You muttered while staring at the ‘map’ you had created on your bedroom wall.
It contained post-its, notes, the title of all eight books and the answers that earned you each recommendation. A pathetic attempt to find a connection between this whole thing.
“You are getting too worked up on this, I mean, look at your wall,” Diego, who had been hanging out with you this afternoon, gestured towards it, “it looks like something right out of a detective movie.”
“It’s not that bad,” you said exasperatedly, “I just need to figure this out.”
“Okay, two things,” he put up both his index and middle finger, “first: it is that bad, it’s just a bunch of books; and second: why are you so desperate to figure this out?”
“I’m not desperate,” you argued.
“Yes, you are.” You heard him mumble.
“And aren’t you even a little bit curious?”
“Not that curious.”
“I just want to prove her wrong,” you explained.
“Because you care about what she thinks?” He seemed genuinely confused.
“No, I-”
“Look,” he interrupted, “I know you. I’ve known you for a long time. You have never been one to care about what other people think of you. So why her?”
“I-,” you were at a loss for words.
Why did you care? It bothered when she insulted you, even though you knew it wasn’t true, and you’ve never been bothered by such things before. It bothered that she knew nothing about you and still had the nerve to deem herself better than you, even though this was all the more reason to not care about her opinion at all.
Was it really a bother though? Or was that just an excuse? And if it is an excuse, then what were you excusing? Why were you still doing this? You’ve been dragging this out for a month. Why were you so keen on proving her wrong after all this time?
You don’t need to prove to her that you’re smart: you get good grades, you’re the captain of the football team, you even have a scholarship in one of the best colleges in the area. Of course she doesn’t know any of this, but that’s not enough motivation for you to spend a month trying to prove her she’s wrong about you.
For all you know that crazy scheme of hers to recommend books could be fake. She could just recommend books she likes and hide the reasons behind those questions. But then why did you enjoy those stories? And why would she put up a whole facade to recommend some books to a random stranger she met in a library?
“Do you like her?” Diego’s voice brought you out of your own thoughts.
The look you gave him was one of disbelief. You almost wanted to laugh at his words.
“Like her? How can I like someone who pisses me off so much?”
“Then why do you keep going back?”
“Why I- because- I- I’m curious.” You didn’t sound as confident as you wished. It wasn’t a lie. You were curious. But curiosity was not the only reason you kept going back, although you couldn’t quite pinpoint what it was.
“I don’t believe you.”
You didn’t answer. You didn’t know how to answer. Thankfully you didn’t have to when, with a quick glance at the clock, you were able to change the subject.
“We’re late.” You simply stated.
“For what?”
“I told Angie I was going to meet her at her place at seven,” you gestured towards the time, “it’s seven thirty.”
“I didn’t agree to this.”
“C’mon, please,” you pleaded, “it’s going to be a small, like, get together or something, and I know Angie will leave me alone at some point to makeout with her boyfriend.”
“Okay fine,” he gave in and you made a little celebratory dance, dragging him out of the house.
Since this was supposed to be casual and between friends, you didn’t waste any time at Angie’s, where you’d usually spend hours getting dressed and ready.
Pietro’s place wasn’t far, which you were slightly thankful for since Angie wouldn’t stop talking about him the whole ride. He’s such a good kisser. He’s so cute. Did you know he plays soccer? He looks so hot in his uniform… You love your friend, but that’s just too much.
As always you weren’t the first one’s, and by the amount of people it was far from a “small gathering between friends”. The apartment wasn’t small, but sure felt like it with the almost fifty people crammed in there.
You were greeted by Pietro himself, who offered you each a beer before pulling Angie in for a kiss, causing you and Diego to roll your eyes. You gladly took the beer, if you had to endure this, might as well have some alcohol to help.
Two beers later and your mind was no longer fixating on the girl-from-the-library problem. Instead you were having a friendly debate with some of Pietro’s friends about which college was the best, the typical rivalry. Having only Angie to back you up was making the whole thing harder.
“Hey Piet,” a tall blonde boy called out, interrupting the conversation, “is Wanda going to join us?”
“Doubtful, you know how she is…”
“Who’s Wanda?” Angie’s voice was laced with jealousy causing the boy to laugh dramatically, which only seemed to make her madder.
“She’s my sister, don’t worry,” he reassured her. It made sense, he had mentioned he lived with his twin sister.
You watched as he pulled Angie away from the group, probably to makeout, as you had predicted, and you looked at Diego, to stop him from commenting anything, only to find his place empty.
You left the group as well to search for him, and was surprised to find him shoving his tongue down some girl’s throat. You could’ve left them alone? Yes, you could. But did you? Of course not.
“Y’know,” you tapped on his shoulder, earning his attention, “when I bring you to a party so I can have someone when Angie left me, I expect you not to leave me as well.” You teased.
“Shut up.” He tried to sound serious, but the smirk gave it away.
“You owe me one.”
Feeling a sudden need to go to the bathroom, you let them be and went in search of one. You opened a door you thought led to a bathroom, but found yourself in a corridor which had other four doors that probably led to bedrooms, at least one must lead to a bathroom.
“Pietro, I already told you, keep that door closed!” You heard someone scream from one of them.
It wasn’t just anyone though. That was a voice that had been haunting you for a whole month now. Okay, haunting was an exaggeration, but still. You quickly closed the door, muffling the music and chatter.
As you rested your back against the wall, a surge of power took over you. The new information taking over all your thoughts. You had the upper hand now on this little game of hers. It was your turn to play.
Her door was easy to identify, being the only one with light seeping through the cracks, and you made no effort to be quiet or discreet when opening it.
She was sitting in her bed, long red hair loose over her shoulders, a book in hands. Her expression was soft despite the interruption, she hadn’t looked up, so she had no idea it was you who was standing there.
“What do you want Piet?” A mischievous smirk grew on your face.
“Wanda,” you uttered as if trying it on your tongue for the first time, earning the girl’s attention.
The shock that took over her features did wonders to your confidence.
“A beautiful name,” you continued, daring to take a few steps inside her room, “I see you favourite color is red,” you referred to the endless amount of details on her walls, shelves, bedsheets, all a different shade of red.
You walked further into the room, exploring everything in sight. She followed your every move with her eyes, too stunned to say anything. Were you crossing a line? Probably. Should you be invading her personal space like that, without a warning? Probably not. But she has been invading your personal space for weeks, so you couldn’t care less.
“Ah, you play the guitar,” you grazed your fingers over the instrument sitting on the corner of the room, “I didn’t think you had any talents other than insulting me for no reason.”
You were enjoying this too much. Your eyes landed on some pictures and notes clinging to a wall.
“Sokovia,” you said after reading one of the notes, “so you are Sokovian, that’s interesting.” Your gaze fell to her desk, a pile of textbooks stacked there. “Psychology,” you laughed, not because it was funny, but because it was going to piss her off even further, “you are more likely to drive your patients crazy than to actually help them.”
“How…,” you turned towards her, “did you…,”
“Get in here? Learn your name?” You offered some suggestions since she didn’t seem capable of finishing that sentence herself. “Pietro.” You simply stated and watched as her face went from stunned to mad.
“How do you know my brother?”
Was that jealousy you were sensing? Or was she just upset that he had told you stuff about her? You decided to play with it a little bit.
“He is a sweet boy isn’t he? So hot and so nice,” you teased and she advanced towards you, making you a little frightened, but not enough to back down, “it’s hard to believe you two share the same genes.”
Your face was mere inches from hers and you suddenly felt like the air was growing thick, making it hard to breathe. A feeling of warmth taking over your chest and stomach. In spite of all the discomfort, you managed to keep your composure.
“I so want to wipe that pretentious smirk off of your face right now,” she growled. Oh, how the tables have turned.
“Why don’t you?” You challenged.
Football had given you fast reflexes (except for that particular event a few weeks ago), you were ready to catch her hand if she tried anything. Instead of her fist or her palm, you were met with her lips attacking yours furiously.
The kiss was needy, hungry, desperate even. Your hands made their way to her waist, pulling her impossibly closer. It was a battle, a fight neither of you were willing to lose. Tongues fighting for dominance, teeth biting lips, jaw, neck, hands pulling on skin in such a way it would definitely leave marks.
Clothes fell to the floor as you backed her to her bed, pushing her onto the mattress, this feeling, a necessity for her, on the pit of your stomach growing ever more.
Safe to say your plans of leaving early were postponed. At some point during the night you had managed to find Diego and let him know you wouldn’t be needing a ride back home. Your disheveled state and red marks, which were already showing up on your neck, didn’t go unnoticed by him, but he didn’t have time to comment on it. You mentally dreaded the moment he would start with the questioning.
Some shifting on the bed caught your attention. Slowly opening your eyes, you were able to catch Wanda staring at you with a soft smile. Your back was facing her, so she didn’t know you were awake, but you could see her clearly from her bedroom mirror.
And what a sight it was.
“You’re staring.” You called out, and watched her face turn three shades redder out of embarrassment from being caught.
You turned around so you’re now facing her, although she wouldn’t meet your gaze.
“What’s on your mind?” She kept quiet. “Okay, wanna know what’s on my mind?” She nodded lightly. “Well, I’m thinking that I would have never, not in a million years, pegged you as being shy.” She tried to stifle a laugh while bringing her hand up to playfully hit you on the arm. “That’s more like it,” you teased.
“I’m not shy,” she defended.
“Then why won’t you look at me?”
“Because… “ she lost it mid sentence.
“... you’re shy and sweet, just like your brother said,” you recalled from the day you spent together in the arcade.
She hit you, yet again, on the arm, slightly harder this time, but not enough to hurt.
“Tell me this then,” you finally reached the topic that has been bugging you for weeks, “what was all this for? The mystery, the games?”
She fell silent, seemingly in deep thought and you got scared you had killed the moment.
“Okay, so maybe I’m a little shy,” she admitted and you celebrated internally while your face remained unfazed, “and that makes me scared of…”
“Talking to people?” You helped out, but she covered her face with her hands in embarrassment.
“Please, don’t laugh at me, I know it’s stupid-”
“It’s not,” you interrupted, uncovering her face, “go on.”
She took a deep breath before continuing.
“I’m scared of talking to people… especially people that I like.” Although it sounded like a confession, you weren’t exactly sure what it was about.
“So you liked me?” You asked in disbelief. “From the beginning?”
Her already red face was growing darker by the second.
“I had seen you before, with Diego, in the library, always complaining, always stating how boring it was,” she shook her hands in the air for the purpose of drama, “and it was annoying, but it was also cute and- and I always wanted to talk to you, but I never found courage to do it.”
To say you were shocked at the new information was an understatement. She liked you all this time? And you just thought she hated your guts for no reason? Wow, that’s precious.
“Okay, so…” you tried to say in the stunned state you found yourself, “how- why- the- why did you do all that then?”
“Because I had like, this sudden flow of confidence, and since you had this cocky personality I thought you would like someone who was the same, so I said what I said, and I did what I did and-”
“I started to hate you.” The way you acted when you first met must’ve hurt her.
“Exactly, and I thought I had screwed up completely, until you showed up again, and my stupid brain associated that to the idea that the way I had acted worked. So I kept it up. A persona, in a sense.”
“What were you planning to do then? Keep that act up forever?” The question made her slightly frustrated.
“I don’t know, I didn’t think that far, I just enjoyed your presence, even though you still seemed to hate my guts.” You laughed and moved closer to her, wrapping your arms around her waist.
“I did,” you whispered close to her ear, “I hated your guts, but I also enjoyed it, the games, the mystery, that’s why I kept coming back.”
“So it worked,” she said excitedly.
“It sort of did.” You stared into her green eyes, for a few seconds. “There’s something else in my mind too that I’ve been meaning to ask.”
“Ask away.”
“So… about the recommendations-”
“Oh my god,” she didn’t let you finish, “you haven’t figured that out yet?!” She exclaimed in disbelief, when she opened her mouth again you knew what was coming.
“Don’t say it.” You warned.
“You really are slow.” She said it anyways, a mischievous grin painting her lips.
“Damn, I hate you,” you said jokingly, unwrapping yourself from her and making a move to leave the bed.
She stopped you short, wrapping her arms around your shoulders and pulling you back, causing you to fall on the bed laughing hysterically.
“Okay, okay, I’m sorry, I won’t say it anymore.”
She let you go and sat up and across from you.
“Good, so are you going to explain it to me or not?” You questioned and she rolled her eyes playfully. “And don’t you dare tell me there is no logic behind it, there has to be one.”
“Yes, there is a logic,” she mocked, “it’s quite simple actually, the ‘color’ is what sets the mood for the book.”
“How so?”
“Uhm, like, we associate colors with stuff, like black is associated with death and evil and white is associated with peace and purity,” you nodded, “it also works for feelings, associating those with colors, so when a person says a color I can pick a book that has elements that are associated with that color, or that causes a feeling that we associate with that color.” She explained.
“That explains the psychology major thing.” She seemed happy you remembered, even though it was mere hours ago.
“Basically,” she agreed, “so, ‘person’ is what defines the relationships that surround the main character, so either romances, friendships, families, strangers, y’know?”
“Yeah okay,” you tried to follow along.
“And ‘place’ is to decide how far from reality the story should be, if the person says a place that’s close to their home, they tend to prefer stuff closer to their comfort zone, so no fantasy or sci-fi, and vice-versa.”
“That’s it?”
“Yep,” she beamed a smile, “simple isn’t it?”
“Does it always work?”
“No, it’s a really subjective thing, the more I know the person the better, but sometimes it just doesn’t work.” She admitted. “It worked on you like a charm though,” she teased.
“That it did,” you couldn't deny. “Okay, so if I got it right, color sets the mood, right?”
“Right.”
“Then what is red associated with?” You looked around her room, filled with several details in red.
“Anger, love, passion-,” she stopped talking when she met your eyes, a mischievous smirk on your lips.
You slowly rose from your position and crawled forward, never losing her gaze. You quirked an eyebrow suggestively as you got closer. You sat on her lap, faces inches from another.
“Well, I can show you some passion.”

Nathan Chen’s Iconic Costumes As Yuri On Ice Characters
Let’s do thissss. DISCLAIMER: I absolutely adore Nathan, I think he’s an AMAZING skater, this is all just a bit of fun, because while I do find most of his costumes aesthetically offensive to my eyes, Nathan Chen would not be Nathan Chen without his um...niche outfits. Again, this is my opinion, I’m very happy for you if you love his costumes and think they’re stunning.
1. Starting off with maybe the least offensive one? In the sense that most figure skaters happen to wear costumes like these:
Skate America 2017
This gives me very much Phichit vibes:
Excuse the cursed image of Phichit here, but I can definitely see the similarities and appreciate the vibe both Nathan and Phichit were going for. A solid 7.5/10
2. Pyeongchang 2018:
A personal favourite of mine actually!! I’m loving the mesh panels, I think it looks quite elegant and classy, possibly my favourite Nathan Chen outfit ever.
I’m getting Eros Yuuri from this:
Nathan’s costume is lacking the pretty embellishments, but both Yuuri and Nathan are giving me innocent Eros, soft and playful while maintaining a level of class. I think yes, and my rating is an 8.5/10
3. Grand Prix Final 2019
Vera Wang...babes...what have you done??
It’s confusing, it’s loud, it’s just not for me. My eyes hurt, my head hurts and my heart hurts looking at this.
Now this one’s confusing because the yellow resembles Leo’s costume, but I’m gonna give this one to Michele Crispino:
Mickey is obnoxious, slightly odd and Italian, and this yellow monstrosity is as well (the GPF in 2019 was in Turin). You don’t quite know what to make of both, so you try your best to ignore its existence. Rating: 2/10 because at least it’s not busy
4. Skate America 2019:
Bestie I- I really can’t defend this.
This is Yurio only because it lowkey looks like a jungle and Yurio loves big cats. Both are also kinda rude, but have a lot going on so you’re willing to forgive them. Rating is a 3/10 because it’s colourful, but also has me thinking i’m on a psychedelic trip with the 360p quality.
5. Beijing Winter Olympics 2022 (Short Programme):
La Boheme is kinda basic, but again it could be worse. It’s just a little bland, but I can appreciate the vibe he was going for
This is Victor during his depressive era i.e. Before Yuuri:
Victor’s sad, longing, wants more but doesn’t know how to achieve it, or what ‘more’ can even mean. Like Nathan’s costume. It’s a bit sad, stoic, appears quite 2 Dimensional, but nevertheless remains classy and formal. Rating: 7/10
6. Beijing Winter Olympics 2022 (Free Programme):
Yeah, no this one is just rude. Bestie knew he was gonna win an Olympic Gold Medal, and this is what he chose to wear. This one is obviously JJ:
Boastful, cocky, overconfident, but lowkey iconic. I wouldn’t have either any other way. For that reason, 5/10.
This post is getting VERY long now, but I have more ideas lol, if you guys want a part 2 let me know :))
