wow almost seems like this whole romanticization of "girlhood" thing kind of revolves entirely around consumerisim. "little treats". 10 step skincare regimens. "girl math" as an excuse to be financially illiterate. be a good girl, don't think, just spend inordinate amts of money to conform to the latest tiktok microtrend bc that's all it means to be a girl <3

Look, I don't care which direction the show goes in. All I know is that Zen, Ryu, and Atom are poly TO ME and nothing is going to change my mind. They could do that thing where they ruin Atom or Ryu's character for the sake of lifting up the other's relationship with Zen, and I would simply pretend it didn't happen.
I have been a firm believer in the, "It would be better if it was poly," solution for love triangles for well over a decade now, and I honestly haven't seen a show that so perfectly encapsulates this sentiment with its main characters for a while. All three characters are different and interesting and multifaceted in their personalities and backgrounds, and it all blends into this beautiful dynamic that this episode really showcased.
Atom and Ryu both clearly like Zen, but what I love is that they don't try to put the other down in order to get themselves in Zen's good graces. Atom doesn't try to use Ryu's dubious background to convince Zen to stop associating with him; instead, he shows Zen that he's reliable and caring by consistently helping his grandma. Likewise, Ryu doesn't try to throw Atom under the bus when his teammates beat him up. In fact, he seemed hesitant to tell Zen at all, and when the truth had to come out, he made a point in clearly stating that #4 was the culprit.
So what we get instead is an innocent rivals relationship where Atom and Ryu fight for Zen's attention so they can have a chance to flirt and prove themselves, and silently bicker when Zen isn't watching. It's funny, harmless, and a delight to watch in a genre where the typical love triangle is borderline unbearable to sit through.
And don't even get me started on how Atom and Ryu's characters mirror eachother. Ryu's mother doesn't support his dream, wanting to remove everything related to basketball after his father died, leading to her no longer being a part of Ryu's life and him living on his own and turning to street basketball. I'm contrast, Atom has an overly-oppressive father who cares more about Atom being a basketball star than whether or not he's actually happy, causing Atom to feel incredibly lonely even in his own home.
Basically, what I'm trying to say is that the show has done a fantastic job in making both Atom and Ryu worthy of Zen's love while also giving them the perfect rivals-to-lovers set up, and therefore the only solution is for all three of them to kiss and live happily ever after.
Also Zen's grandma clearly approves of both of them so.....

down a rabbithole re: current publishing drama and my biggest question is can someone PLEASE tell me more about the trend of reylo fics getting turned into published books? like i saw a goodreads collection in the dossier that had like 50 books that were reylo fic. i am genuinely so interested in how this fan community feels about this phenomenon, and what other books besides love hypothesis fall under this umbrella. no i was not a reylo shipper in my 2016 tfa era, i was simply a kylo ren appreciator, but reylos PLEASE interact and tell me more about this !!

Fashion girlies are spineless, we know this.
But I find this insistence on trying to blend both faux activism and praise of the bigots and fascists in the industry of yesteryear aggravating.
If you spend more time waxing poetic about how Coco Chanel, John Galiano, or Karl Lagerfeld's work shaped the industry than you do detailing the various bigoted or outright fascist things said or did, what do you think your audience is going to come away with?
How do you not see that you're lowkey painting their actions as just flaws of an artistic genius and visionary?
Are the pretty shapes and colors more important to you than the human cost of their bigoted ideals? Really?

Rip Sue Sylvester, you would’ve despised all the ridiculous labels the beauty industry has created. Tf you mean bad facial harmony and low visual weight?

I need people to stop responding the way they do when fat people say they're fat.
"No you're not!"
"You're not fat, you're beautiful!"
Bitch, I can be both. These are not excluding each other. I'm fat AND I look good. I'm fat AND I'm okay with it (most of the time nowadays, thankfully). I'm fat AND I have no desire to waste my life with trying to fit into a society that makes trends of BODIES.
Saying things like those above isn't the nice thing you think it is. It tells me a lot about how you view fat people and that you see them as less.
And we also know that you're not actually concerned about our health ;) We're fat, not stuipd,
It's a description. Just like tall, slim, blonde, etc..
