Boyd, upon waking up: What are you doing here?
Hsin: I couldn't sleep last night so I walked over here and slept with you
Boyd: Oh, that makes sense. I thought I saw a strange man in my room last night but I just went back to sleep.
Hsin: ... maybe next time you see a strange man in your room you should scream, or run. Or both.

i love talking to people who like icos simply because of my love for ivan. they both tend to be confused and then i get “oh, so you hate boyd right? you want hsin and ivan to be togerher??”
NO. to both of those. i still LOVE boyd and i absolutely adore beausin. they genuinely belong together. they grow together, love each other, and understand each other in ways i don’t think anyone else truly could, BUT
that doesn’t change the fact that i think ivan is an AMAZING character. i think he and hsin fit together perfectly fine. if they would’ve ended up together in the end i think it would be fine, but. it’s not something hsin wanted.
hsin was well aware of the fact that he and ivan would eventually end up together. he accepted that fact and he genuinely enjoyed being with ivan. he became one of hsin’s #1 supporters and closest friends VERY QUICKLY.
but, no matter how you feel about ivan as a character or your ideas on him “getting in between boyd and hsin” (which he isn’t and never was), you can’t deny the fact that ivan was one of the few people in hsin’s life that just fully accepted him for exactly who he is without any expectations.
hsin needed a friend outside of boyd to care about him just as much, but without the expectations boyd had of him.
ivan just let hsin..... exist and simply be. like or hate him, he’s still exactly what hsin needed during his and boyd’s breakup AND the forakis mission.
in the end he was the only one that was really there for hsin when boyd wasn’t. that’s still a very important fact whether you hate him or not.

Kassian, stepping into Hsin and Boyd's room to find Hsin filming Boyd: What are you two doing??
Hsin: we're filming Boyd's missing lover footage
Boyd: You know in movies when the hero's wife or girlfriend goes missing and so he sits in the dark and watches her in a home movie
Hsin: or a hologram
Boyd: or a hologram. And she's always beautiful and full of love almost to the point of being stupid? We're making footage like that for me in case I get kidnapped or murdered!
Kassian: Super healthy you guys. The Health Department called, they don't want anything back.

Well, it's true. Even Neal Gaiman confirmed it. 😂😍😁 That's is why I love this idiot soo much, even if technicaly Crowley is more my type, but Aziraphale just stole my heart.
It's also in ep. 2, when he complains about paint on his coat waiting for Crowley to clean it up for him and he does.
It's not only about getting his attention, but mostly, because Crowley genuingly makes him happy and he likes spending time with him. Everytime when Crowley does something nice for him or does something Aziraphale's way even of he dosn't agree with, he lights up like a little lantern. 😍
In all the scenes we get from their past, the only two times, when Aziraphael was not happy to see Crowley was in Soho but he's more resigned there than anything else; the other one was in church during war.
It's after they fight in St. James Park and a break up of sorts and I'd say it's easy to assume that they didn't stay in touch during that time. Then, Crowley just of the blue showed up in a church, in a place when demons shouldn't enter, because it hurts them and Aziraphael just seemed mad and upset that he's risking like that. In the end Crowley saved him, but more than that he saved his books too, and I know, that a lot of people think, that this was a moment, when Aziraphael realized, that he's in love with Crowley, but I think that he realized that sooner.
I realy think this was the moment, when he realized that, Crowley loves him too. To this point they kind of played this game. Sometimes just met randomly, but mostly they helped each other and worked together, and sure from Aziraphale point Crowley liked him and helped him, but it was connected to their busseines like weird relationship. At least I think, that's what Aziraphale was telling himself, also when it came to his feelings for Crowely too. Then, Aziraphael didn't help him with holy water and in general when Crowley kind of need him but he stil
showed up in church as if that fight and anything never happend and not because he needed anything, but because Aziraphael was in danger and he wanted to help him. The fact that he knew that, means that he was keeping tabs on what Aziraphael was doing, even if they didn't stay in touch. Not only that, Crowley saved his books, because he knew how much Aziraphael cared about them. And then he shruged it like it was nothing. It's love at it's purest form. I believe that was a moment when Aziraphael realized that Crowley really cares about him a lot and even loves him too.
If we talk about that, it's also pure love to give Crowley a holy water even if't the last thing you wanna do and it scares you shitless that it might be last time you see him. Just saying.
It's hard to say when Azirapheal relized that he loves Crowley. I mean he had been pretty gone for him in Paris, so I will say beetween Paris and St. James Park or maybe after that, when they didn't see each other and he couldn't any longer deny that he more than cared about Crowley and missed him and wanted him back, but not because he needed him to help with his work, but because without even realizing it Crowley had became an essential part of his life.
It might be before St. James Park also, since he's reaction was a lot over the top. It's like he expected just their banter and nice time and instead he get hit by holy water train lol. I mean I'd be suprised too, I didn't expected that either. Honestly he seemed like genuinly hurt when Crowley said that he has other people to fraternize with. Adding that to beeing scared about holy water beausines and not knowing what lead Crowley to even needing it, we can say that loved him at this point, but whether he realized that at this point or in the time after that is hard to say.
While I’m certainly not debating the fact that Aziraphale is a moron, does anybody else feel like the whole “pop over to Paris dressed like an aristocrat to eat crepes” was just a little too moronic? He could have easily miracled himself out of those chains and escaped. Maybe he would have gotten a reprimand, but wouldn’t that be better than explaining to his superiors he’d gotten discorporated in pursuit of brioche?
(If he even did get a reprimand, considering he miracles his clothes a second later without seeming to worry about it.)
Like, to me it sounds like exactly the kind of scheme a moron would dream up to get his equally moronic husband to pay attention to him, basically sending up a flare and screaming into a megaphone “OH NO I’M IN TROUBLE… I DO SO WISH THAT SOMEONE WOULD RESCUE ME AND THEN GO TO LUNCH WITH ME IN PARIS.”
I mean, look at his face. He looks delighted, but he does not look actually surprised. That looks like a nonbinary entity saying to himself “It worked.”

and they better run
The Snakes found them shelter, but when Boyd and Sin decided they were done running they found them their first target, too.
They didn’t even have to go far.  They pulled themselves out of the catacombs in London after saying their goodbyes to Athea and the rest – some fonder than others – and travelled northwards.  More specifically, they travelled towards an agency compound nestled in the heart of Leeds, with the river on one side.
As targets went, it wasn’t exactly on their usual level.  But going from hunted to hunters was more difficult than the other way around, even for people like them.  They needed information if they were going to be anything more than a vague annoyance to be immediately exterminated by the Agency.
Just as importantly, an attack on an Agency compound, even an outpost like this one, would send ripples outwards across every underground circle they’d ever run in.  For people whose lives depended on secrecy that was deeply dangerous.  But for people whose family and friends were scattered across the planet in hiding, it was the kind of red flag they needed to throw up in the hope of catching friendlier attention.
Sin quietly and intently wanted to see his father again.  The others too, if he was honest with himself.  He knew that Boyd felt the same.  They also both knew that bringing the Agency to its knees – this time hopefully in a more permanent way – would be a hell of a lot easier with their entire group of insane rebels together again.
As for the Leeds compound, planning an infiltration was different without resources or people behind them, but the two of them were well practised by now at functioning as a lone pair.  It wasn’t precisely a fortress, either.
That was lucky.  Because whichever way they went about it, they had no chance of getting inside without splitting up.
There was no denying that Boyd had adjusted admirably to the loss of his eye – Sin never forgot, but there were times when he could watch Boyd and think that there was very little difference in him now without it.  That illusion lasted until Boyd turned to see something more than he ever would have before, or flinched at movement in his blind spot.
Sin had spent years now in that void on Boyd’s left, the two of them a paired force against whoever was stupid enough to try their luck.  And while sending Boyd in alone was the furthest thing in the world from sending a lamb to the slaughter, the very idea of splitting up chilled Sin to the bone.
Sin had proposed that he go in alone with Boyd as support on the outside.  Boyd had refused that plan, suggesting instead that he go in and retrieve the information, while Sin set charges and then created enough of a distraction that Boyd could escape in the chaos.
The ensuing argument had been pretty similar to the very beginning of their partnership, with Boyd vulnerable and stubbornly set on his plan as their best option.  The difference was that Sin hadn’t cared then, and now he cared too much.
Boyd’s plan was the better one.  Sin knew that.  But after everything he’d done to keep them together, he was absolutely fucking terrified that he’d lose Boyd on their first attempt at bringing the Agency down, the thing he’d suggested doing because he’d finally gotten sick of spending every day of his life running.  He wasn’t cut out for it, any more than he was meant to live out his days in the miserable darkness of the catacombs.
He was afraid. He’d said as much to Boyd, which had brought their argument to a screeching halt. Boyd, his expression gone soft, had curved a hand around Sin’s neck and whispered into the skin of his jaw that he could do this.  The scratch of his eyepatch had been both a reminder of Sin’s past failures and one of what he still had to lose.
Everything.  He had everything to lose, because he still had Boyd.
He’d had enough of losing.
So the plan was to creep in, and then reduce the place to ashes on the way out.  These days, they were terrorists.  Thankfully Sin had never given a shit about that.
They planned it so they arrived in Leeds under the cover of the night.  There was no moon to worry about, the clouds hanging oppressive and orange-lit overhead.  It wasn’t raining yet, which was good; Boyd planned to go in from above, and scaling the walls would be hard enough without the concrete being wet.
In the even deeper shadows between buildings, they waited for what Tayla had informed them was almost certainly when the guard on their target floor did their round.  Next to Sin, Boyd had come alive with adrenaline.  He was still and silent, expression familiarly blank, but it added an electricity to him that these days Sin only saw during sex.  Even fighting for their lives didn’t bring him to life quite like this.
He had always liked a well-executed storm.
“Time,” he murmured, flicking Sin a quick glance.  Sin’s sharper vision could make out the entirety of him, even where his dark clothes might have blurred with the shadows and hopefully would to the eyes of the people they were hoping to avoid.  He suspected Boyd could see nothing but the gleam of his own eyes.
That didn’t mean Boyd missed when he reached for Sin, though.  Their mouths met hard enough Sin swore he tasted blood, Boyd’s hand curled tight in his shirt.
“Don’t die,” Boyd whispered against his mouth.
Sin’s stomach was chewing itself up.  But he trusted Boyd.  When they broke apart he said, “Same to you.”
Then Boyd was gone like a ghost, his footsteps near silent even to modified ears.  Sin watched the space where he’d stood for a moment before turning away.  He had his own job to do.
Reduce it all to ashes on the way out.  That just meant going on exactly as they’d started, with destruction and fire.  Sin was more than ready for that.
