--- The morning light trickled through the half-open windows of the drama clubroom. Legoshi shifted uncomfortably as he adjusted a prop tree, his mind preoccupied with a myriad of thoughts. The sudden announcement from Louis the previous week had taken everyone by surprise—a new head writer had been chosen.

She had arrived earlier that day, slipping into the room with all the presence of a shadow. Legoshi watched her from the corner of his eye as she sat, barely speaking, her sharp gaze fixed on the scattered scripts before her. A black cat with an air of indifference, she radiated a quiet intensity that made even the most confident club members uneasy.

“Her grades are unmatched,” Louis had explained with his usual brisk tone. “She’s exactly what we need to elevate this production.”

Legoshi’s tail flicked nervously as he approached her.

“Uh... hi. I’m Legoshi,” he murmured, his voice softer than usual.

The cat glanced up briefly, her green eyes narrowing slightly before she returned to her work. “Okay.”

It wasn’t rude, but it wasn’t warm either. It was… curt, like she had decided he wasn’t worth more than a single syllable. He shifted awkwardly.

“So… um, you’re the new writer?” he tried again, his ears twitching as the silence stretched uncomfortably.

“Yes.”

Another sharp, clipped answer. Legoshi’s tail drooped. He wasn’t good at conversations on the best of days, but this was like trying to talk to a brick wall. Still, there was something about her that intrigued him—something about the way she seemed to carry a world of thoughts behind those short answers.

“Is there… anything you need help with?” he asked, trying to be helpful.

The cat finally put down her pen and looked at him fully. Her expression was unreadable, but her voice was calm and measured. “No. I’m used to doing things myself.”

Legoshi nodded, unsure if that was a dismissal. “Okay… I’ll just, uh, be over here then.”

She didn’t reply, her attention already back on the papers in front of her. He slunk back to his corner, silently berating himself for his awkwardness. But as the hours passed, he couldn’t help but watch her work.

Her movements were precise, her focus unyielding. She scribbled notes in the margins of the script, her handwriting neat and deliberate. Occasionally, she would pause to glance around the room, her sharp eyes missing nothing.

It was Louis who finally broke the ice—if only unintentionally.

“Legoshi, stop lurking and make yourself useful!” the deer snapped, gesturing toward the new head writer. “She needs the last script drafts from the archives. Take her.”

Legoshi’s ears flattened, but he obeyed. He shuffled over to her, mumbling, “Uh, we need to get the drafts. I can show you where they are.”

She stood without a word, gathering her things before following him.

The walk to the archives was silent. Legoshi felt like he should say something, but every time he glanced at her, she seemed lost in thought, her expression unreadable.

When they reached the dusty shelves of the archives, she finally broke the silence.

“This must be exhausting for you,” she said, her voice low but unexpectedly soft.

Legoshi blinked. “What do you mean?”

“All this social interaction,” she replied, glancing at him sideways. “It seems... draining.”

He hesitated. “It can be,” he admitted, “but I like helping people.”

She gave a small, almost imperceptible nod, as though she understood. They worked in silence for a while, sorting through the papers.

“You’re... different,” she said suddenly, her voice so quiet he almost didn’t hear it.

“Different how?”

She didn’t answer right away, her eyes focused on the script in her hands. Finally, she murmured, “Most people talk too much.”

Legoshi chuckled softly, a genuine smile tugging at his lips. “I guess I’m not most people then.”

For the first time, her lips twitched, almost forming a smile. It was brief, but it was there.

Maybe, Legoshi thought, as they continued to work together, she wasn’t as unreachable as she seemed.

The warm glow of the afternoon sun cast soft streaks across the dusty floorboards of the drama club’s archive room. Legoshi’s ears twitched nervously as he glanced at the black cat beside him. She was leaning against one of the towering shelves, her sleek frame almost melding into the shadows, her sharp green eyes scanning the scripts she had pulled from the stacks.

The air felt heavy. Legoshi shuffled his feet, his large claws scraping lightly against the floor. He wanted to speak, to break the suffocating silence, but her rigid posture and piercing gaze kept him rooted in place.

“Legoshi,” she said suddenly, her voice low and deliberate.

He flinched, startled. “Y-Yes?”

“You’re breathing too loud.” She didn’t look up, her tail swishing once before curling tightly around her.

“Oh. S-Sorry.” He ducked his head, his ears flattening as he tried to stifle the deep, instinctive breaths his body demanded.

For a moment, she said nothing, her expression blank as her eyes flicked between the pages of the script. Then, with a sigh, she set the stack down and turned to him fully, her hands resting loosely in her pockets.

“You’re... not what I expected,” she murmured, her tone unreadable.

Legoshi blinked, his tail curling awkwardly behind him. “What do you mean?”

“Most people are loud. Obnoxious.” She tilted her head slightly, her gaze narrowing as she studied him. “You’re... quiet. And you don’t stare.”

Legoshi rubbed the back of his neck, his claws grazing the fur there. “I-I mean, it’s rude to stare. And I don’t want to make anyone uncomfortable…” His voice trailed off, his body hunching slightly under her scrutiny.

Her lips twitched—a movement so subtle it might have been missed entirely. “Not bad,” she muttered, almost to herself.

“Uh… thanks?” Legoshi offered hesitantly, his hands fidgeting with the hem of his shirt.

She turned back to the scripts, her movements fluid and deliberate. The air between them settled into a tense quiet, though it felt less sharp than before.

Later, back in the drama clubroom, Louis was barking orders at the cast, his voice sharp and commanding as he directed a rehearsal. Legoshi lingered near the edge of the room, holding a box of props. His eyes darted to the black cat, who had returned to her corner with the same detached grace, her pen scratching lightly against the pages of her notebook.

Legoshi couldn’t help but watch her, his large, gray ears twitching slightly. There was something captivating about her—how still she was, like a predator lying in wait. She wrote with an intensity that made the rest of the bustling room feel irrelevant.

A loud clatter jolted him from his thoughts.

“Legoshi!” Louis barked, his sharp amber eyes boring into him. “Stop staring and do something useful.”

“S-Sorry!” Legoshi stammered, his claws fumbling with the box as he scrambled to set it down. His tail curled tightly around his leg as he ducked his head, trying to make himself smaller.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the black cat glance up, her green eyes briefly flicking to Louis before returning to her work.

Later that day, as the club emptied out, Legoshi found himself walking beside her again. She didn’t speak, her footsteps soft and deliberate against the pavement.

“I, uh, hope today wasn’t too stressful,” Legoshi offered, his voice barely above a murmur.

She glanced at him, her expression unreadable. “Why do you care?”

Legoshi hesitated, his shoulders hunching as he struggled to find the right words. “I… I just want to make sure you’re okay. That’s all.”

Her ears flicked back, and she looked away. “I’m used to stress. It’s not a big deal.”

He nodded slowly, his claws tapping lightly against his thighs as they walked. “I guess… but you don’t have to handle everything alone. Sometimes it’s okay to let people help.”

She stopped suddenly, turning to face him. Her gaze was sharp, her tail flicking behind her. “Why? Why does it matter to you?”

Legoshi froze, his ears flattening as he struggled under her intense stare. “B-Because…” He swallowed, his large hands fidgeting nervously. “I know what it’s like to feel like you don’t fit in. And… I think it’s nice to have someone who understands.”

Her eyes widened slightly, the smallest crack in her composed demeanor. But just as quickly, she looked away, her shoulders tensing.

“I don’t need anyone to understand,” she said flatly, though her voice was quieter than before.

Legoshi tilted his head, his tail swishing gently behind him. “Maybe not,” he said softly, “but it’s okay if you do.”

For a moment, neither of them moved. The fading light of the evening painted the campus in warm hues, and the air between them felt heavy with unspoken words.

Finally, she sighed, her shoulders relaxing slightly. “You’re strange, Legoshi.”

He blinked. “I-I am?”

“Yes,” she said simply, her lips twitching again in that almost-smile. “But it’s not the worst thing.”

Legoshi couldn’t stop the small wag of his tail as he followed her back to the dorms, the faintest hint of hope blooming in his chest.

Maybe, he thought, some connections didn’t need words—they just needed time.

So, I know we were all disgusted by the freak South who dated a lizard who was the same species as him(ewww). So I am happy to tell you all that we are going back to some good ol' freaky furry romance.

Better yet, this chapter is about Haru and Legosi!

The main couple of Beastars now practically live together since their universities are pretty close to each other. Haru is doing her third year in college and Legosi, now with a clean criminal record, is doing his first year in college, studying entomology.

Good for you, Legosi :) It is never too late to get back to school!

So, the wolf and the rabbit has been together for three years now and (for the most part) live together. You know what that means...

Oh yeah! They sleep together!

... In separate beds! There is no sex whatsoever!

Haru asks the same question as the rest of us: HOW?!?!?

Well, the first night Haru spent at Legosi's place, the ussual happened:

Like most wolves, Legosi makes small bites when he gets overly exited. Haru didn't get hurt, she got a scratch behind her ear, it's not the end of the world.

But afterwards, their relationship has been... well, casual.

There is no sexy atmosphere between them since the biting incident. They still spend their free time together, but it is almost like they are a middle-aged married couple where they brush their teeth together and everyday stuff like that. It bothers Haru a great deal since she is a college girl and it makes her feel old, makes the two of them feel old. She would like to get wild while she is still young... But to be fair, don't you think you had plenty of fun already, Haru?

I'm not slut-shaming or anything, just saying.

Anyways, Haru contacts Juno. Yep, everyone's favorite queen wolf is back!

Two things I noticed is that Haru now calls her "chan", implying a bit more friendly relationship between the two of them. Second is that even though Juno is here to give Haru input and advise about wolves, we don't get to learn anything about what her life is like right now.

YOU ARE KILLING ME, PARU!!! YOU ARE TORTURING ME SPECIFICALLY BY NOT LETTING US LEARN WHAT HER LIFE POST-LOUIS IS LIKE!

As I was saying, Haru wants Juno to give her advice to kick Legosi's wolf instincts into high gear. Juno is unsure if that's such a great idea(no duh!) but share what would normally make a male wolf... excited.

There is just one problem... Legosi is... well, Legosi.

He is a terrible mix of extremely polite, concerned and dense.

Nothing Haru does triggers Legosi, he misreads the signals completely and Haru starts to wonder if they have simply lost their spark.

Then, one night as Haru goes to bed disappointed that she haven't unleashed the beast so to say, she sees that Legosi is awake.

It's full moon, and Legosi can't help it but to stay up and watch it. Even if it is bogus that the moon should somehow affect wolves, Legosi and his fellow canines are still emotionally attached to it. Haru says she can relate to this to some degree, probably because rabbits have a religious connection to the moon.

This is possibly the first thing their species have in common. So the two of them goes for a late night/early morning stroll, enjoying the beautiful moon.

The two of them just enjoy each other's company, it's nice and quiet. They are not tired from class or trying to study or doing everyday tasks, meaning they can actually connect on a emotional level.

And then we get the twist:

As stated earlier, Legosi accidentally scratched Haru's ear when he got "excited" and Haru assumed it killed the vibe between them. But this seems to imply that he was waiting for the wound to heal completely.

Or maybe it is because they are both relaxed that Legosi feels less anxious.

Either way, they don't spend this night in separate beds.

I'm gonna be honest, it was not the best Haru x Legosi story I read, I would have liked a bit more of the classic Paru insanity. But I very much enjoyed it, and this specific story shouldn't have that much crazy because it is about the lack of insanity in the wolf and rabbit's life. We get to see that Legosi can finally get a real career and even achieve his dream of working with insects and how much they have evolved as an actual couple, not just furry angst and tension between the rabbit and wolf. It also feels like Paru is ending Beast Complex for real this time to focus more on her other projects, and if that's the case then this was a nice way to end it.

So very sweet and cuddly! The first time you got your period with him he immediately went into learning mode.

Understands the mood swings, pain, cravings, everything going on inside of your body, etc. Makes sure you have a heating pad and likes to prepare you baths with nice candle light.

Doesn’t matter what time it is, you have a craving he’ll be right back with it.

Rubs your stomach without really thinking about it. Will rub your chest if you are okay with it.

Babies the hell out of you if you let him. If you feel more independent and like being babied is more of a punishment than anything he’ll back off and let you do your thing.

Louis

Takes care of you but also just kind of treats you like normal. Makes sure you have a heating pad and encourages hot showers.

Has medicine and your favorite craving stacked up to the max.

Listens when you complain and doesn’t make you feel weird or awkwardly about it.

Very nonchalant about all of this. Doesn’t think what he’s doing is anything special, it’s his job to take care of you so why would he make it a big deal?

I love Haru sm, but man, idk how to describe it, but she feels boring in this later arc.

Kidnapping arc? We see why she is the way she is? Great! I'm sure many girls could relate to feeling like they need to be sexual in order to be understood or form connections! We see her and Legoshi's friendship, and eventually relationship, grow and her side of it? Great, love that for her and seeing how the herbivore would view this situation, and that it's not just all from Legoshi'a perspective!

But man, now it just feels like she's a plot device. And as much as I love romance, I feel kind of annoyed with Haru and Legoshi. Not just bcuz of Haru, but the way she's just used. It just feels like she's only here to further Legoshi's character, but she still has developing she needs to do. Imo, she could have a good arc with Juno, but even she was used to further Juno's arc. Another one could be her realizing that she doesn't need Louis or Legoshi, and that she's completely fine on her own.

(Also, like the Panda dude said, I really don't feel like hearing Legoshi talk about his relationship issues when he's trying to overcome his cannibalistic instincts. Yes, ik it's "can a carnivore snd herbivore truly be together?" thing and I love them for that, but the same role is being filled with Louis honestly-)

Idk, just watching basic romance in a world like Beastars? Ik it's the whole "devouring thing" going on, but again, that's furthering Legoshi's arc and not hers :(. I just wish she could be used more, bcuz I love her a lot, and she makes the story brighter.

And, like I've said said above, the same role is being filled with Louis, and in a much more interesting way. No, this isn't me being sad my yaoi ship isn't canon, bcuz I also still kinda like Haru & Legoshi (sunshine x gloomy, cmon). But, we see Louis battle with his instincts (*cough* fetish *cough*), and he becomes leader of a GANG because of them! Louis and Legoshi were already were "friends," and if Tem & Riz is anything to go by, you still feel urges to devour your friends. Even if they're not romantic, it'd still be fun to see their relationship as friends grow but with more ✨️angst✨️ and all that.

Honestly, just give Haru an arc away from Louis and Legoshi. I don't like just associating her character with either of them

Author's note: I writted this one-shot two times bcs the first time I HATE how I did it soooooooo here we go.

I already lost the count of the days, the nights and obviouly the endless hours I spend in this room. Like a circus freak, waiting for an end to all the misery imposed by the pain, praying to the deities hidden among the shadows of the nights and the rays of the sun for an end to this miserable story with me, a predator locked inside a golden jail.

Originality, that phrase was talking about an animal locked in a golden jail always was a weak animal; a bird or a rodent or even an insect, but those trapped predators are twice as miserable as any tiny and weak creature could, if it so desired, dream of.

Someone like me, with the right jaw to tear open meat, and claws always sharpened by the nature of my blood finds that even their most pathetic attempts at fighting are useless before the grip of that herbivore, of that man whose blunt fingers and perfectly and coherently organized teeth seem to manipulate my figure as if it were a puppet. For many days, even Louis had more empathy for me than Oguma would ever feel for any sentient being that is not an equal to his biology.

The soft hands that I once felt proud of were now bruised, damaged and scarred without even a bandage on, all being a tiny bit of the cruelty behind that fucking deer, and in this dark, impenetrable room, even by the most specialized forces could find a house always under surveillance since the day Oguma preferred to start a suffering with a vile and sadistic end that not even the worst murderers could think of giving even to their most suffering victim was just a little playdate in comparation of what he did to me.

I had and will have the misfortune of having been born within these bars decorated with gold, accommodated in a claustrophobic and invasive environment for my nature free of chains. Even with the great misfortunes of others, even the poorest enjoy the freedom to touch the grass with their fingers, unlike me, a creature treated like a wild beast from the first day. Oh, if my ancestors saw this situation, they would be rejoicing in their already graceful graves.

The pain in my chest is present again, feeling like a torture from ancient times, just waking up on the same pillow every day of my life.

The lights were still on; apparently their presence had vanished at the sight of me sleeping so peacefully in such a limited space, and even his damn footsteps seem invisible to my bruised and damaged ears.

—Did you sleep well? —His voice resonated in my ears, echoing in the room without any natural light.

I couldn’t answer; his chair seems too comfortable outside the cage, and my entire backside begs for a soft bed to lie down on after so many nights without a good rest.

—I asked you a question. —he hissed, before one of his hands gripped the metal.

I refused to answer, just kneading the uncomfortable, lumpy pillow in a rough attempt to stretch my muscles, like a jaguar cub learning to use its claws.

—Idiot —he whispered. —, aren’t you going to answer me?

My head fell back against the little space left on the red pillow decorated with gold linen. Even the smell of fresh blood coming from his fine clothes seems to try to be a means of temptation for my hungry stomach, already abandoned by dad’s home-cooked food years ago.

—Damn predators —he panted, angrily —, all of your are the same —he took my tail in his hands —, stubborn, insufferable, and proud of all of your good things, proud of your fucking jaws, your teeth, your claws ready to tear skin like butter.

The pull I received was such that even my head jumped off the small velvet mattress. The sharp pain that runs through my backside to my hips is such that even the mere act of moving made it more and more painful.

—But it's not that hard to keep them flush —He pulled again, gripping his fingers into the fur and flesh of my tail—, is it, little lioness?

Small tears escaped from my eyes and ran down my cheeks at his aggressive tugs. The constancy of the pain was inevitably sharp and extremely unbearable.

—Now, answer me properly —He let go of my tail, returning to his initial position.

For the few seconds I remained clinging to myself, my tail twisted over my body, the marks of his fingers remaining impregnated in my fur like wood marked by varnish.

—So?

I couldn’t even whisper a moan as fear invaded me again, just like the first day I was locked in this hole of pain, just like every day of this miserable life.

My face peeked out between the golden bars, my tail tangling in my changed position; sitting on the edge of the cushion, bringing all my weight to the place where I was in the opposite location to his.

—Are you really going to make me go there?—He whined.

His footsteps echoed in the empty room, silencing my constant gasps from the pain lying in my body, small tears welling up on my face.

—Speak —He said —, now.

The sweet caress on the fur that outlines my ear is such that even my own body forgets that mistreatment foreign to my temperamental behavior, like a sedative whose action is immediate in every sense of the word. His bent posture to take that part so delicate for me was almost glorious and pious in the eyes of any family that has caused me so much pain.

—If you don't, you know it will only end worse.

With the purpose of a whim to be fulfilled, I made him release my ear by moving my body, before my eyes looked at him again. His eyes still show that coldness whose emotional emptiness is almost inexhaustible, as if all the pity that any creature can show for others was taken away from him at a young age as a method of punishment.

His hand is still extended, his posture and even the smell are still the same as the moment I remembered the monster in front of me, whose evilness crossed all the limits imposed in a society in constant internal struggle and inexhaustible passive aggressiveness, and one last time, just like every time, I decided to stop being miserable, quiet and lonely, before approaching his thin fingers, with trimmed nails and his fine palm with the fur in a harmoniously contained order, a reflection of his constant personal hygiene.

—On what day, or what week, or what fucking year, will you stop being so miserable? —I forced myself to ask—. And yeah, I know you will not answer me right now, so, allow me to answer you in the way I always longed for, dear herbivore.

With the same speed with which Mom instilled in me, my hands wrapped around his, my nails trimmed to the veins still containing dried blood, my dried blood, and I, in an attempt to return all the treatment received, surrounded his hand with my extended lips, and finally, my teeth closed, but just as the miseries continued to increase their level of gravity, I find myself with his same cold gaze, with his same cynicism hidden behind the eyes of a wealthy father incapable of conceiving a child into the world.

—Ah, I already guessed that you would do that —He whispered—. I'm surprised that you didn't notice why you only ate minced meat.

! BEASTARS RP REQUEST ! (SPOILERS = GIFS)

IS THE BEASTARS COMMUNITY STILL ALIVE? Heyooo! I hope you are all well~ I am Mi Mi or whatever you want to call me and I am interested in doing a Beastars RP. I have tried using amino in order to find people to RP with but unfortunately no luck so I am testing my luck here.

I am currently looking for someone who has seen the anime or read the manga and has knowledge about the show. Honestly I am just wanting a good detailed RP about Beastars. I want to have someone that can roleplay as either Melon, Legoshi or Louis because my pairing is OC x CC where I am the OC and you're the CC. Though I don't mind being CC where I can be either Haru or Juno.

REQUIREMENTS

Must be 18+.

Comfortable being CC.

Must be at least advance literacy level or lit.

Has seen first season of Beastars or second season of Beastars or final season or read the manga.

As much I love romantic plot with lots of chemistry building I don't mind different plots that isn't romantic but I do enjoy making OC x CC ships. Like I said I don't mind doing non romantic plots if you're wanting for just world building plots. I am okay with that.

Now another serious question ¿is it normal to feel a whole lot of panic when you don't like a ship, but not understanding why you don't like it?

For example, i don't like juno x Louis from beastars... but i don't know why... and that terrifies me 😣 (also i don't know if this is the correct emoji to capture fear so, could you correct me if i used it wrong).

Well, don't be afraid to not like something if you don't know why.

You don't have to know why you don't like something, and that's okay. It's perfectly normal. Sometimes things just don't click or resonate with you, and that's okay. Sometimes you can feel totally 'MEH' about something and not know why, and it's completely normal and okay.

But if you did want to ask yourself why you don't like this ship, maybe it's because you ship these characters with someone else, or maybe you don't like one or both characters, or maybe you don't like how one character treats the other character, or maybe you don't like how they act as a couple, or you feel the ship is bland and it just doesn't do anything for you.

But whatever the outcome is, just don't work yourself up over it because it's not worth beating yourself up over something you don't like.

The emoji you used to express fear and anxiety was well expressed, in my opinion.

And I haven't read the manga or watched season 2, so I wouldn't know how to judge the relationship between Juno and Louis. Sorry, but your feelings are valid for not liking them as a ship.
