I need to remind myself some of y'all are only now getting introduced to ai as a fun thing for ppl to fuck around w and y'all are being introduced thru DRAMA which explains the hostility but that doesn't change how annoying it is. Like i already said my opinion about ai being but a tool but y'all are behaving like clowns sometimes. The computer algorithm ain't the devil bro.

Be me.
Read a list of apparent Red Flags for the TF fandom.
Get to "enforces IDW comics onto everything transformers; enforces IDW ideas/characterization/story onto different continuities"
Remember the bits of IDW ideas/concepts I put in my last Beast Wars fanfic. (mnemosurgery, point one percenters, Functionalism)

For any curious on my aus, here's some basic lore.
Between the Screen Au
Basic info: Rewrite of the Epic Mickey games with darker themes and slight cast changes. I.e. Fanny is temporary leader while Oz guards Mickey Junk Mt, loads of really old designs for most of the toons, etc.
Summary: Mickey sneaks into a closed off studio room within Yen Sid's lair. Intrigued by the mystical looking paint brush, he begins to paint himself only for it to distort and attack him. With a sponge and thinner, he tries to wipe away his creation. He leaves the room believing he erased the creature. He was wrong as little did he know that his action lead to the downfall of an entire world. Years past and Mickey raises to fame. One night he is swept away into a place toons of ages past dwell. Can he fix his mistakes and mend a relationship that could have been? Who knows.
Epic Mickey : Tale of 2 Brothers
Basic Info: Another au that rewrites Epic Mickey, but brings back the old concepts and story where Ozzy is an anti-hero and Mickey can go feral.
Summary: Oswald is the humble king of Wasteland that works hard to give everything he's got to forgotten toons. However, his obsession for admiration and justice lead him to take drastic measures. An alliance between the Mad Doctor and an inky beast called the Blot leads them to seek revenge on the toon responsible for their circumstances. Mickey is dragged into Wasteland and adventures the land in hopes of returning back home. Both brothers will have to make the right decisions for this story to end well.
Rising Star
Basic Info: Somewhat parody of Walt's rise to fame. Toons and humans co-exist. Various old toons appear like Felix, Gerdy, Flip, etc. Look is like Roger rabbit. Follows from like the 1920s to modern day.
Summary: Michael and Oswald love their little rural life, but yearned for bigger dreams. Oswald eventually builds enough income to head out to California to make it big. He gets noticed for his talent and charm by a director and becomes a star. A year passes and Michael later joins in his brother's footstep to be a star. Both learn that making it big isn't all glitz and glam.
Toons & Dungeons
Basic Info: D&D inspired universe. Mainly focuses on the Disney Brothers, but other toons will appear. Story is very rough as this is an old au that changed from an RPG based idea to D&D, which I have little knowledge off.
Summary: Orphans Mick and Ozzy were inseparable as they roamed the streets of Fantasia. A run in with the Blox lead the two to be separated. Oswald was cursed to never be remembered by his loved ones after escaping from the Blox. He takes refuge with people called Gremlins who raise him as one of their own. The only thing he wants is to lift this curse and re-unite with his brother. Mickey is a traveling bard on a quest to find something he's lost. The only clue he's got is someone important to him, a brother? A friend? If only he could remember what his name was or what he looked like.
Ink & Mirrors
Basic Info: An old Bendy and the Ink machine au that's been slightly revamped. Main cast is Epic Mickey, Bendy cast, Cuphead cast, and Felix cast alongside cameos of other toons or ocs. Most lore is based on the first game with little humans in it, basically really early days of Bendy theories. It has a parallel story, but it is mostly the same in how it would go.
Summary: Bendy has been trapped in this crummy studio for years and envies the toons that are more beloved them him. He already dealt with his damn creator, so why not have some good cartoon fun? Toons have been going missing and mysterious letters appear to some that ask them to visit an old studio. Some visit or stumble into it after encounter strange black ink. Little do these toons know that this place was never suppose to be found.
Toon High
Basic Info: An old High school au. Walt High, Universal High, and Warner High. Not much else to go on, it's just school. Various toons can appear, but again this focuses on Disney mainly. Story is never gonna be concrete and barely used. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Summary: Mickey and Oswald have had a rocky relationship ever Mickey came into the family. One was joyous to have an older brother while the other was indifferent. Oswald is transferred to Walt High after Universal High doesn't work out. Mickey is happy be going to high school with his big brother, but his brother would rather be anywhere else. Maybe the two can finally work out their differences.
Magic Island
Basic Info: Animal crossing
Summary: Elias finds out that a new island get-away is being opened by Tom Nook. Him and his brother Clover travel to the island for a change of view and potential new home. New friends and a hard-working leader are what welcomes the brothers to their new home.
Local Toons
Basic Info: Everyone's a kid. Minor angst as this is more like slice of life. Style is black and white.
Summary: The Disney brothers love their rural life and love to help around the town. Various shenanigans ensue and new friends come and go.
P.D. Toons (Public Domain Toons)
Basic Info: Public domain toons that I made my own. Their origins are still there but nothing like the originals. Every toon has a new name. I.e. Willy = Mickey, Oliver = Oswald, etc. These are just for fun so not much lore.
Summary: Slice of life like stories or illustrations. Nothing big.

Dude. Busy days. Timmy is heart and soul in this promo, he loves it so much. Except London. He threw a very loud tussle there. He was a beast. Not a moment too soon. He is tired, spent but happy. We pray it stays like this. It should, but no one trusts the machine anymore.
A is flying home next week. Kids are his life yet island messes him up. He needs to recharge. Both do, together.
Happy Holidays, Charmies.
Dudeeeee thank you 😍❤

Red Fountain Specialist Design Fr this time sksksksk
Tumblr media
sorry if its hard to read I'll write it down under
Right is some facts about onyx and their role in the group
Onyx wears face paint on missions as they were aware that if they got face tattoos they would face problems in school
Onyx comes from the same planet as Tecna however from a smaller city and lower class
Stella's friend and main contact with RF (explanation LATER)
Ranged Fighter (main weapon rifle) and Strategist
Closer to Timmy and Riven
Kinda doesn't like Sky doesn't tell anyone about it (one sided rivalry on Onyx's end)
Had a crush on Flora cried over it
Beefs with Tecna sometimes
RIGHT: Drawing of On Mission Red Fountain Specialist Uniform
Right brace is a regular one and the left is modified to be a communication device for all specialists as well as a way to connect to any RFS gadgets, vehicles, machines etc.
The cape/glider in canon is inspired by research done on fairy combat, the wings serve as a glider when specialists are airborne. They function by metallic fluid that look like veins and those veins move the material, they have censors that will trigger to turn on if specialist is unable to use their screen to activate it manually. Before they can use this cape they have to be trained on how to glide and mimic fairies. also do not ask me about the specifics of how this tech works because i am not smart askakskakkaskaskkaskas I'm thinking about that fluid that moves with magnetism or just insert vague it's advanced technology from an entirely different realm
LEFT: In School Training Uniform
Minimal special features because it's meant to be worn when students are enhancing their natural ability
Light weight
Waterproof, non conductive to electricity and fire resistant
easy to put on in case of emergencies
RED FOUNTAIN SCHOOL FOR SPECIALIST HEADCANONS (for my rewrite)
Used to be an all boys school but was very recently changed to be mixed
Has different departments aka more like a university it has magic and non-magic combatants, a technology dep, a magical beast taming dep, etc.
Has more students than Alfea and Cloud Tower combined because it's not restricted to those who have specific magics anymore (used to be)
Privately owned but often works with government programs hence the reason why students would be in contact with criminals and also catching them
only a small percent of graduates become specialists as others use their degrees to get jobs in magix because there's more variety in the courses offered.
RF is considered neutral ground for fairies and witches
Rival to Paladins (Arcane focused school) but like in a friendly way
Principal can be considered like a multimillionaire at this point since he's owns a school that can produce military vehicles and students that create those designs while still studying. I think he's raking in government cash and also opens avenue to shady shit i can explore :3

So a current passion project of mine is a complete overhaul and rewrite of Beast Machines. Like many Beast Wars fans, I was extremely disappointed by a lot of what Beast Machines had done, especially to the characters themselves. The basic idea of my project is to mostly bring the characters and overall plot back to something more in the spirit of the original Beast Wars while keeping a few of the ideas from Beast Machines that had potential to be good, but were just executed poorly.
For Rattrap, I sort of get what they were trying to go for with his storyline of "overcoming a flawed/weaker body," but honestly... The body he was given had all the potential to be just as effective in combat as any of the others. He wasn't lacking for weapons either -- he still had his explosives, which I would argue were one of the more powerful weapons the Maximals had among them. My reworking of him physically was minimal, except I really fell in love with this idea of giving him like a pseudo-vehicle mode using his existing tires to give him more mobility akin to a motorcycle. Pair this new speed and maneuverability with his explosives and a return to his Beast Wars-era quick-witted cleverness and I don't think you'll be seeing a discussion on him being a liability to the team anytime soon.

Does Golden Butter still have that demotivating aura that steals the Cookie's energy away? Or since it's been changed to Isolation, did you replace it with something else..? Are the dolls still hyperfocused and crazed within the toybox? (I'm just trying to understand the new GB better :'] )
Goldie does not have her demotivation aura anymore, nor are the dolls hyperfocused and crazed..
In the rewrite, they give off a more, uncanny and machine-like vibe in the way they act. Carrying out daily tasks and conversations to give a hollow sense of community within the toy box. Ultimately, they are not sentient.
As for what replaces Goldie's Aura, i haven't really figured that out yet. Though it may not have to do with her corrupted trait but instead just how powerful she is. Since she was never separated from her soul jam, she'd be a lot more powerful than the beasts and ancients.
though this is too, subject to change. mainly cause i'm eepy rn and can't think all that well

alright its HUMAN time baybee, wanna talk about these rapscallions in ultrakill, the biggest pieces in a game continuing without them.
Firstly; the war
Now it's said that the war was most likely the first world war, which doesn't really mean *much* other than the wars origins (if they even are the same)
What I wanna talk about is what they DID
Humans, the humans of ultrakill put EVERYTHING, into this war, even their very souls, powering the machines with the very thing that powered them, blood.
They gave their own blood for this war, a war they chose to fight unmanned, so the choice of blood for fuel is very interesting.
In All honesty I believe we only see a small portion of the war, with alot of it being fought traditionally, and only when it escalated so much was the need for blood fuel introduced.
Because there was nothing left.
This war had gone on so long that the earth was done before the war was. Stripped of resources, or at the very least traditional fuel.
But they weren't done. So they gave up the only thing left to give to create new technology, themselves.
This had a drastic change, rewriting the entire war with the new arms race of guttermen into guttertank. And so forth until we get to the earthmovers. But then the war was over, the earthmovers blotted out the sun, and being such large beasts of war, required solar panels, they had snuffed out their own life sources, and upon falling silent, the great peace began.
Now this will be speculation, so go into this assuming the machines wiped out humanity
With all that blood and violence embedded into the very machines code, the humans programmed them with something I believe they never intended too, will, the ability to think, to feel, to WANT, and that is what doomed them. The machines WANTED to live, and with that desire, turned on the humans who brought them to life In the first place, and did so with the one job they were programmed to do.
Mankind is dead
Blood is fuel
And with the will to live, there was only one place they could go.
The humans they'd slaughtered would reap what they had sown, once again.

Day 3 - Monster
Another writing prompt for Day 3 of Nexocember! Today, I'm gonna delve a little into the future of the rewrite and in the climax of Aaron's story arc as he makes his final stride on the path to meet his end at the hands of the Green Knight.
Firefox mentions below as well! I think that's the ship name for Macy and Aaron? I dunno, I love a good DnD pun so I call them Drakewarden. Y'know, after Drakewarden Ranger- yeah okay I'll shut up.
Enjoy!
————————————————————————
Time Stamp: S7 E7 - Same Mistake
Not once in his life had he ever called a single person, machine, creature, or beast a monster.
It was like how some people refused to say they “hated” someone when “greatly dislike” or “not fond of” worked just fine instead. The word “monster” was more than just a label scholars would throw around when discussing the great trials and tribulations of Knighton’s formation and cementing. It described the actions of a man as so vile and horrid, they couldn’t be deemed human for thinking any of their decisions were sane or morally right. It was one thing to be a bad person, perhaps even troubled or misguided, but to be a monster… To Aaron, there was a threshold to reach before anything could earn that title.
He’d known plenty of bad people growing up. The knights who were stationed in Grindstead? No most of those were bad people, entitled jerks who flaunted their shields like it was the crown of the Halberts and dragged many civilians into poverty, anxiety, and servitude. Only recently did he get the chance to learn of a few knights who broke the modern criteria, his classmates included. None of them were bad people, not even Clay. Especially not Clay.
He wished he could’ve said goodbye to all of them.
Pacing tensely through the lush green domain of trees and life, the Emerald Knight approached an archway naturally crafted of eroded stone and slithering flower vines. He discarded his armor at the camp, now dressed in nothing but a worn down tunic, a pair of grime-stained trousers, and his only pair of shoes that survived long enough to reach this point of the journey. One year ago, a week or so before today, he stupidly made a deal with a fey to partake in a twisted game of fate. He killed the creature with a single swing of an axe. Now it was his turn to die.
Regrets fluttered in his mind like agitated wasps, gnawing at his brain as he drew closer to the unnerving ruins before him. He knew he should’ve said goodbye to his team. He knew he should’ve visited the place where they let Clay’s statue rest. He knew he should’ve been kinder to his parents instead of losing his temper during what he liked to call his Last Supper. He knew he should’ve told his siblings about what would happen to him, now knowing they would spend the next Candle Festival questioning why they didn’t receive a present from him.
He knew he should’ve said goodbye to Macy instead of leaving her at the campsite to wake up without him.
Hazy eyes stinging with exhaustion winced as he drew his gaze to the stone arch. Glimmers of blue danced around the mineral on soft gusts of morning wind. Butterflies. They were butterflies. He’d seen butterflies like those before. They would hover close around…
Yep. This was the right place. The Green Chapel, as the fey put it all that time ago.
A year of rancid dreams slaughtering his sleeping self time and time again in more excruciating ways than the last, now put to rest at the terror of knowing it was moments away from reality. This was it. The moment he stepped through the archway and into the greenery of the ruins, his life would come to an end. It didn’t scare him necessarily, for nothing did. But he wished he had more time to make his life more complete. An apology to Clay for being a thorn in his neck all these years would’ve been wonderful. A hug to Axl would make him worry less about his well being. And oh, what he’d give to see what was really under Dauntless’s mask. He should’ve kissed Macy too.
No. He couldn’t be thinking about those things, about the “what ifs” and “what could’ve beens”. There were a smorgasbord of achievements he collected like limited edition figurines over the years, and this year especially was in mint condition as Macy would say. He became a knight of the realm, something he didn’t think he’d enjoy at that time but grew to appreciate throughout the last few months. His unique talent for sports and parkour grew to astronomical levels, so much so he could scale the entire city of Knightonia without any more than a cut on his arm. While the stress of being the kingdom’s only protectors drained him of his smile from time to time, he got to see more of the realm in a span of five months than a normal coastline civilian would ever see in fifty years. He introduced Axl to the team and helped him become an official knight in training, and he rescued both Pola and Fred from their father’s schemes. The knights had battled lava monsters, stone lycans, vicious techno vampires, ocean spirits, giant kings; all of which wouldn't have been possible without the unintentional family they all had become. With Robin and Ava's intelligence and ingenuity, Merlok's guidance and magic, Axl and Flint's contributions as a sixth knight and a spy against the enemy, and the long, strenuous marathon of growth and teamwork the five of them had developed over almost five years, why, the kingdom would've been in much worse shape.
They were a family now. He couldn't deny it now that he gave it more thought at his final moments. Even though he was forced into a role that gave him more heart ache, stress, anger, and injustice than a woman fisherman working among monster hunters, he wouldn't have changed a single moment of his late adolescence and early adulthood. It humbled him - in an odd way - and made him aware of his fragility and humanity. He found the love of his life, he made some killer friends at the academy, he traveled the realm and witnessed spectacles and horrors beyond the imagination. But if he could wish for anything, he'd want a future with those people. Just one more day would've been great. He'd make it the best day of his life even if it was his last.
"Green Knight?!" bellowed the ginger haired knight into the wind, the breeze catching his words and whisking them into the heart of the empty clearing. When silence answered, he felt a boiling tinge of unease. "I'm here! A little late, but had some detouring to do. You're not exactly good at giving directions, ya know."
More silence. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. For the love of the storm, he hated this. Not even the Fortrex at the dead of night was this quiet; there was always a gentle hum in the RV's walls and enough snoring to keep his mind calm. Where was this fey? It told him to find him at the Green Chapel, did it not? It was like it wanted him to lose his sanity before dealing the final blow, like it found it funny to watch him unravel into broken breaths and trembling limbs. He could already feel the headache from the lack of air pooling his lungs like a shallow low tide.
All of his optimism had been wasted on an idiotic idea that maybe, just maybe, he could weasel his way out of his doom. Maybe if he showed the creature he was worth sparing, or maybe if he showed kindness and courage, he'd be fine. But again, silence answered. It didn't care. Of course it didn't care. It just wanted to shed blood.
Clenching his teeth and stifling a snarl behind a low, guttural exhale, Aaron barked at the wind. "HEY. WHERE ARE YOU?? You made me go all this way for NOTHING OR SOMETHING?? What, chickening out now?? I thought you were SO THRILLED to kill me! Having second thoughts now?? You made me think I was gonna die in some horrible way all year long for NOTHING? WHERE IN GOD'S BLOOD ARE YOU YOU A-"
A creak of wood groaned through the canopy, stealing his breath before he could finish his sentence. His jaw rattled as he inhaled unstably and craned his head to the branches above his head. Not all of the branches were... branches.
It was exactly how his dreams played out. A head crowned in wooden horns twitched like an ant infected by cordyceps. Some of the tree limbs twisted and unraveled from the trunks, revealing a pair of massive fingers made of the same wooden material as buried roots. Growls and moans hoarsely crackled through the bark of the creature hoisting itself from the shadows.
His blood ran cold, feet frozen in the earth despite not processing fear from its presence. It took its time to show itself. No, it waited until he lost his temper to show itself. This was nothing but a game, a fey prank in the most horrendous form, and he was the victim of the emotional turmoil it found so deliciously amusing. He felt so stupid for ever thinking it would ever have the heart to spare him. All the insomnia, the stress, the dread of knowing he wouldn't see the flowers of spring, the loss of appetite and nausea after nightmares made him nothing more than a lunch for the beast, the breakdowns, the apologies to loved ones, and every day he had to wear a fake smile just so nobody would worry when the time came for him to vanish; the fey didn't care. It was all entertainment. It was all part of the game.
Not once in his life had he ever called a single person, machine, creature, or beast a monster.
But in that moment, when the Green Knight lowered itself from the canopy of the woodlands and glared down at him with a skeletal mask for a wooden face, only one thing left Aaron's mouth.
"...oh you monster."

...ok but now I'm actually curious about your issues with TOTK👀
okay so to be per, fectly clear: Tears of the Kingdom is a really fun game. I've been playing a lot of it, aimlessly wandering around, exploring the Depths, finding shrines, doing side quests, and so on. At this point I've cleared the four regional quests, a bonus mainline quest I wasn't supposed to know about yet I found the shrine early and had enough hearts to open the door, what can I say, I'm curious, I have the Master Sword, and I think most of what's left is armor upgrades and wrapping up the main story.
But also I have been spoiled since the game came out about what's in store and boy do I see a lot of similar narrative issues to my gripes with Fire Emblem.
So we might as well start off small with how TotK actively rewrites its history in ways that are even more extreme than Skyward Sword. Skyward Sword introduced Hylia and Demise as concepts, with Hylia inheriting the Triforce from the Golden Goddesses of Din, Nayru, and Farore and tasked with protecting it, while Demise appeared as a demonic entity intent on taking that power for himself. As of Skyward Sword, Zelda was written as the mortal reincarnation of Hylia, thereby retroactively contextualizing her powers. The Triforce has been a power source sought after and fought over through every prior entry in the series, and even though BotW didn't make outright reference to it, the Triforce was clearly present on Zelda's hand when her powers awakened and appeared in full when she sealed Calamity Ganon at the end of the game.
And Tears of the Kingdom does away with it completely.
Hylia is mentioned as the only goddess. The Golden Goddesses aren't referred to at all. There is no Triforce at all, it's instead been replaced by the Zonai 'Secret Stones' even in the ancient past, despite the fact that we saw the Triforce at the end of the last game. It was right there. Zelda is also no longer the reincarnation of the goddess: instead her powers are re-explained as being the product of the historic marriage between the Zonai Sage of Light and the Hylian Sage of Time, giving her command over both (but she's considered only the Sage of Time for some reason?).
Also, BotW pretty heavily implied that Hyrule was a matriarchy: it's the queens and princesses who have the sacred power, so it stands to reason that Zelda's mother was actually the one in charge of Hyrule before her death, and the king only stepped into the leadership role on a temporary basis until Zelda came into her powers (hence that pointed "heir to a throne of nothing but failure" remark in one of the memories). But despite there being a Hylian queen right there in the ancient past, the game firmly establishes that Rauru is the one with the power, and Sonia is just his consort, a priestess who he chose to marry.
And then there's the Shiekah. Throughout all of BotW we were surrounded by these amazing machines, ancient technology crafted by the Shiekah and unearthed in working condition after a myriad in the ground which are still running and wreaking havoc a hundred years after the Calamity. We start the game in a Shiekah Shrine that literally saved Link's life and allowed him to recover from what should have been fatal wounds, though it did take a hundred years to do so.
And all of that is gone in TotK. Not a trace of it remains: the shrines have all been wiped from the face of the earth, the Divine Beasts are nowhere to be found, the Shiekah Towers have evaporated into thin air -- and the shrine that saved our lives is completely gone, replaced by a hot spring. It still bears the name of the Shrine of Awakening, but none of the miraculous technology remains.
Personally, the idea that either Purah or Zelda would consider the Skyview Towers worthy of dismantling that Shrine completely shatters my suspension of disbelief. They're both scientists: they should want to study all of that in detail to understand how it works, not destroy it for glitchy impersonations of the old towers I hate the Skyview Tower miniquests so much.
(Let me tell you, it was absolutely chilling for me to get to Rito Village and see an empty place where I clearly remembered there being a shrine. The Shiekah presence in history has basically been wiped out in TotK outside of Kakariko Village, and I don't like what that says considering that the Shiekah were also victims of a genocide by the ancient king of Hyrule.)
And then there's the imperialism. I have my issues with Three Houses and every ending needing Fodlan to be united under a single banner, though it's most egregious in CF where Edelgard's stated purpose is returning Fodlan to its proper state unified under the Imperial Standard. TotK is worse. There have been some excellent breakdowns of the narrative implications, touching on everything from the loaded imagery and black-and-white narrative purpose of Ganondorf and the Gerudo (dark-skinned evil desert dwellers who oppose the good and glorious worshipers of the goddess...where have I heard that before...) to the game showing outright that the other races of Hyrule were treated as lesser vassals in the ancient past (the Sages being masked and therefore erasing their individual identities, receiving the Secret Stones that Rauru had been hoarding only when Rauru needed help to fight Ganondorf and thereupon swearing their very lives and the lives of their people to him and his empire???). They're great analyses, they've been living in my brain for weeks.
But I think the thing that I'm most mad about is that the narrative bends over backwards to keep anything from changing. At the start of the game, Link's arm is so badly damaged by the Gloom that he nearly dies and he spends the rest of the game with Rauru's arm in place of his own...but then, in the end, he magically gets his original arm back no worse for the wear. Zelda, in an attempt to empower and restore the Master Sword, turns herself into a dragon, a process that we are told outright in the narrative will cause her to lose herself and is therefore irreversible...but then, in the end, she magically returns to her human form thanks to her ghost ancestors somehow reversing this supposedly irreversible process. And on top of all that, Hyrule itself is exactly the same when all is said and done: there's no change to the power structures, no independence for the other races who choose to come together in the spirit of cooperation like we saw at Tarrey Town -- instead, the four Sages once again swear their support and fealty to the Princess of Hyrule.
Personally? I like a narrative where the characters and the world change over the course of it. That's one of the things that I thought was so meaningful about BotW: while most of the gameplay takes place in the present, the true start of the game is 100 years in the past, allowing us to see how the Calamity affected Hyrule, the devastation it wrought and the continued struggles of those who survived through the century that followed. We end the game with Zelda once more free, where she had been locked in combat with the Calamity; with the spirits of the Champions at peace, where they had been trapped by the Blight within the Divine Beasts; and with Hyrule finally at peace and beginning to recover now that the Calamity has been sealed away. I still think it's ridiculous that they don't actually show any of Link's scars in the game (especially since we are at one point forced to strip to prove that we are who we say we are, and they say point blank I would recognize those scars anywhere when there are no fucking scars), but at least things have changed over the course of the narrative!
But nothing changes in TotK. The status quo remains untouched and unquestioned. And it just feels...bad to me. Insincere, maybe. Unrealistic, sterilized, manufactured. It's a narrative that says there's nothing to question, that everything going back to the way it always was is the right and proper way of things, because clearly the Hyrule Empire is the right and proper rule. And I just don't like that.

May as well post my TotK rewrite ideas which I largely was freewheeling while playing with my sister then tried to write while half asleep.
Under the readmore because it does get long and ramble-y due to being written while I was sick.
Rauru is Hylian and explicitly descended from the Link and Zelda in Skyward Sword, Sonia is now Sheikah (who are native to the surface). There are no Zonai.
First parts of the story basically the same. Zelda vanishes. Link gets a new arm. Ganondorf suavamente (sorry my siblings and I have been watching a lot of terminal-montage lately)
Rauru is a little more proactive telling you about the imprisoning war and directing you to find new Sages. He appears more often in the plot to greet the new Sage. Also you keep the master sword and with each stone you reclaim, it heals more.
Lightning is removed—Riju is Sage of Spirit because that's what the Gerudo were originally. Instead of Mineru surviving till the present as a Sage, Paya is the Sage of Shadow. Mineru is still a character though!
The memories shown to you by the Sages as you gather secret stones vary more—they show the struggles their people faced and their interaction as individuals with Rauru and Sonia. Each faced unique hardships, which almost parallel the disasters occurring in modern Hyrule but not exactly, before pledging their people to join Rauru’s nation and them becoming a Sage and using that power to save their people.
Mineru is a researcher studying the Sheikah tech—it’s implied or outright stated she is the nexus of the “new” tech we get in the game. She still put herself into a machine, but she is immobile and acts like Cherry as a source of Ancient Hylian Tech weapons.
The Divine Beasts are crashed around Hyrule, as well as the Sonia-Rauru shrines and temples. This isn’t plot relevant it just bugged me. Also some shrines will have puzzles that are already completed—this is randomized on each playthrough. At least one boss will be missing a chunk of health when the fight starts. There’s no explanation as to why.
The underground is now more populated—there’s at least one proper town down there, with wandering merchants and quests…. But almost every friendly NPC is a ghost. It’s hard to tell till you talk to them though, so Yiga still blend in. It quickly becomes clear the ghosts range in eras (maybe some even resemble NPCs from former titles?) but most are from Rauru’s era. All of Zelda’s memories are in the Depths.
Penn still exists as does his quest (see below). But Kass does too. Because I love him.
Here’s where I actually plot: Back in the imprisoning era, Ganondorf emerged as a threat. The Hylian king, accompanied by his Sheikah wife, had the blood of the goddess needed to seal him, and managed to do so without using the Master Sword. This elevated him to a hero status, and the various leaders swore fealty in exchange for his aid in lingering crises. All was well, and a child was even born, named for her fabled ancestor, Zelda. Unfortunately, the praise began to swell the king’s head. He became more demanding, wanting to build a grander Temple of Time to secure his legacy, raising portions of land to recreate his ancestor's home (Skyloft), exacting larger tributes to build his castle, and eventually letting his suspicion of the Gerudo lead him to declaring them outcasts and trying to slay the Gerudo sage. Sonia stood against him, and in his rage at her “treason” he struck her down. Rauru went mad with grief, revealing the sacred stones to be a method of controlling those whom he gave more power to. Realizing the danger of the king’s madness, the princess’ Sheikah nursemaid spirited baby Zelda away to keep her safe. Enraged at this kidnapping and believing that Sonia’s people would try to avenge her death, he used his Sages to betray the Sheikah and kill many, which is the betrayal that led to them adding the tear to the crest. For years he ruled as a bloody tyrant, leading to the ghosts in the underground, before he was opposed by a mysterious Sheikah warrior, one whom he called “the Sheik”. The Sheikah rebellion grew, stopping the Sages and rallying the people behind Sheik. In a desperate move, Rauru released Ganondorf and tried to control him through his sacred stone, but both were sealed under the king’s castle by Sheik herself, who of course was the now-grown Princess Zelda, Rauru’s daughter. You find all of this out by discovering (your) Zelda’s memories—when she fell into the Depth she was gravely injured and put her body in stasis, but because she was in the Depths her ghost was able to split form her body to roam freely and research this. The shrines that you’ve found finished and bosses that have health missing are her handiwork. The Penn sightings aren’t evil Zelda (or at least the ones that aren’t Yiga…) but people literally seeing her ghost. She didn’t talk to Link because she knew seeing her like that would distress him. You reunite her with her body and the Sages heal her, then go face Ganondorf. The fight is normal at first, except Zelda and the Sages get to help till Ganondorf knocks them all out except Zelda. But instead of the Dark Dragon, Ganon suddenly crumples… and the Sages rise up and attack you instead. You and Zelda fight them off and Rauru appears, wondering how you can be bathed in his power but still keep your wills. Zelda asks what he hopes to accomplish, and he dismisses her, saying he is creating the Hyrule he and Sonia deserved—one where his will is absolute over all, till even death will bend to it. Zelda pleads with him, saying Sonia wouldn’t have wanted this, but he grows delusional and confuses her for Sheik. Saying she’s made a mistake, he seizes control of her through the sacred stone from the beginning of the game and turns her into the Light Dragon, which becomes the final boss. The reason he could not overcome Link was Fi—the sword of evil’s bane rejected his control while absorbing his power the whole game. You fight the Light Dragon, and as you hesitate to land the killing blow, Sonia’s ghost appears and turns Zelda back with her Time power, with the overwhelming power Rauru had forced into her snapping back to him. Rauru reaches for his wife, being consumed by the power coming off Zelda, but she refuses his hand, not for what he did to her, but for what he’s done to everyone. You catch Zelda as in the end of the game. Also you get to keep your house. That was messed up man.

Today's werewolf woes are patron spirits!
The Patrons in my rewrite (still need to finesse the name a bit- Roar of Rebirth is the working title) are a bit more powerful than those in W5. Each one provides a benefit worth about 8-9 exp worth, similar to the benefits of a predator type, in addition to the dice pool bonus and ban. These can be merits, Gifts, rites, or other abilities which are available for as long as the Garou maintains a relationship with their patron.
Whipped this one together today, I like her! She's the last of the six patrons of the Black Furies, with 2 per Renown Type: Pegasus, Gorgon, Dead Angel, Lady Justice, The Huntress, and Panther.
Dead Angel Among the youngest of Pegasus’s brood, Dead Angel is the soul of a wolf too angry to die. Some urban legends say she’s the wraith of a philodox murdered by a police officer, while others claim she’s a spirit of fury sent up from hell itself. Either way, Dead Angel calls those angry, disaffected Furies, mostly ragabash, to take no shit and answer to no god or master. Together, the Dead Angel MC, as outsiders know it, is a potent and vicious gang, often targeted by police who rarely make it out of the encounter alive. She appears to her followers as a handsome, well-built woman dressed in patched biker gear with her black Havana twists held behind her by a loop of barbed wire. Half her face is seared down to the bone, revealing an eye of pure, raging flame as that same hellfire licks up with every blazing breath. She’s never seen far from her ride, a motorcycle of unidentifiable make that looks more beast than machine. She is associated with Honor.
Favor: Dead Angel directs her warriors to run their foes down without mercy, acting as the unrestricted fury of the Wyld. Members of the Dead Angel MC gain the Rider’s Guile Gift, which doesn’t count toward their total Gifts for the purposes of purchasing new Gifts. In addition, they may add a die to any craft, drive, or technology roll related to operating, building, or repairing motor vehicles. Ban: Dead Angel despises those who claim their word is law. True justice is hard fought and soaked in the blood of the Weaver’s uniformed pigs. If the Garou ever capitulates to a human’s authority, such as a cop, politician, soldier, or businessman, they may recover only a single Willpower at the start of the next session, instead of their Composure or Resolve rating.
The associated Gift, of course, is Rider's Guile, a White Howler tribal Gift available to Furies only through Dead Angel.
RIDER’S GUILE They say the ancient Epidii tribe of the old White Howler Kinfolk learned to ride before they could even walk, and could speak with their horses as Garou can speak with their lupine Kin. The new Howlers carry on this tradition, lending grace and wisdom to every motion, whether it be on the back of a horse, or in the saddle of a motorcycle. A horse-spirit teaches this Gift.
Renown: Honor
Cost: 1 Willpower
Action: Minor
System: The Garou automatically passes any test to navigate difficult terrain or conditions while riding a steed or driving a vehicle, or while running in lupus or hispo form; in the case of more severe terrain, or conditions caused by unnatural effects like Gifts, caltrops, or speed traps, the Garou instead adds their Honor as bonus dice to the roll. In addition, they can travel at twice the speed without suffering additional exhaustion or fuel use. This gift can be used in any form.
Duration: One Scene

Mutant Inquiries: In a cyberpunk, near-future dystopia, mutant super-powered teens face a conspiracy involving an authoritarian government, illegal human experimentation by the PHANTOM Industries, and the truth about their own mutant existence. They become vigilantes in order to expose the truth, but find that there is much more at stake than just sticking it to authority and that their own lives are on the line.
Supernova Initiative: The most wanted intergalactic thief must steal a top-secret experiment, that was lost to so-called zealots in a faraway system, to evade being imprisoned after breaking into the Junction's most secure vault. Meanwhile, diplomatic relationships between factions and galaxies grow strained.
Lies Untold: Two brothers must race against time to evade their kingdom's royal "inquisition" after the King makes their little sister a target to be captured. In their attempt to stay alive, being hunted down while their land faces the punishing wrath of a curse that was very much the King's fault, the siblings also must face their family's past and make the right choice.

The guardians of the Pharaoh.
Tumblr media
I wrote this story a few years ago and decided to rewrite it and post it here. Hope you enjoy.
I don't own Yugioh or it's characters.
Long ago in the world of monsters, 3 goddesses ruled over the lands and its inhabitants before they disappeared into the human world, destined to become the guardians of an ancient Pharaoh.
Prologue
Everyone has heard this story or at least knew of the legend of duel monsters; how ancient Egyptian priests had sealed away monsters that plagued the land in giant tablets made of stone and would later use those monsters in shadow games, games that could decide life and death, games that could very well dictate the fate of the world. Only a few had the abilities to summon these beasts from the stone that held them, one of these being a great Pharaoh who’s name and legacy had been lost to the sands of time. But many know of this story or at least it’s well known amongst certain circles. Many have lost their lives uncovering this story; many have been cursed trying to uncover the dark mystery revolving around this ancient Pharaoh. And although a lot has been uncovered, one thing remains unknown, the origins of these so called monsters...where did they come from? How did they get to this world? Well that story starts long ago, before Egypt and the Pharaoh, before civilisation started on this world…
Our story starts in a land unreachable to humans, a land of magic and wonder, of creatures and monsters so fantastical that they could only come from legend. Dragons, warriors, magicians, beasts, witches and fairies. Creatures made of darkness and light, creatures that fly and creatures that swim, creatures of ice and fire, roaring beasts and chirping birds, beings of stone, earth, trees and even machines. And all these beings lived in places that you could only dream of. Spectacular palaces that reside amongst the clouds, fields of flowers and plants that spread for miles and miles, giant mountains that pierce the very sky, lands of obsidian and flowing rivers of lava, frozen valleys where the trees are still green despite the frigid cold. Towering forests where the ancient trees walking along the earth while giving home to many small creatures, a vast endless ocean filled lush plants and vibrant structures and sea life both big and small. And even though the diversity of these beings and places were different, they lived in harmony, living amongst each other in peace. Laughter and song could always be heard on the wind, bringing with it a sense of tranquillity that has existed in this world for many years.
Amongst these creatures live 3 powerful beings that watched over this world and kept the peace. One that watched over the land and skies, one that ruled over the kingdoms of the undead and darkness and the other watched over the ocean and its inhabitants.
Clarity, the goddess of light and the sky was a woman with a pure and caring heart. Her face always wore a smile and her violet eyes shone with love and kindness. Her golden hair flowed like rivers of sunlight, her skin smooth without a flaw insight, her large powerful white feathered wings carried her as she sored through the skies. She would bring life and joy to even the loneliest and saddest soul. Her kindness and gentle spirit were a wonder to behold. She always saw the good in others and would help anyone in need even if they were undeserving. Unlike her sister…
Rozu, the goddess of darkness and the underworld. Not much is known about her as she remained secluded in her fortress made of fire and brimstone, preferring to be alone rather than to interact with others like Clarity. Those who have been brave enough to enter her lands and make it to her home and have gazed upon her face would tell of the sadness that echoed through her golden eyes, an overwhelming sense of heartbreak and loss emitted from her very being though no one knew why. She would spend her days standing in her tower, looking over her kingdoms, a look of longing on her face, her burgundy hair flowing in the ash filled breeze, her leathery black wings curled against her back. Despite her reclusive nature many were wary of her, after all the beings of darkness were known for being…unpredictable. Clarity was the only one brave enough to visit Rozu; after all they were the only family they had. However there was one other that didn’t fear the queen of darkness…
The Siren was a being of mystery. She was the oldest of the three goddesses and her story had been forgotten over time. Some say she just appeared one day out of the blue, a mighty warrior with power over the sea and storms. She never spoke and was rumoured to be a mute. Her eyes were bright blue, her skin a pale white, her violet and blue hair flowed around her like the waves she commanded. A blue jewel hung from her neck, some saying it was the source of her power. When she would swim in the ocean amongst the creatures she watched over, her legs would become a long dark blue tail with a dorsal fin running along the back to the tail fin. Her legs returned when she was on land as she would help hunt for food for the villages that lived along the coast line. Her arms and back were covered in tattoos, strange markings and images of other sea creatures. Most could be identified such as a little orange starfish that was placed on her right shoulder or the legendary fisherman that sat on her upper left arm; however there was one set of markings that nobody recognised. 3 symbols running down the back of her neck, the markings seemed old, much older than the others that decorated her skin. But that wasn’t the only strange thing about her; she would disappear the same time every year for a few days, returning with an expression of grief and sadness on her face. But nobody knew why and nobody dared to ask, not wishing to upset the Siren more.
After centuries of living in peace, a dreadful day came when everything changed forever. A meteor had come down in the human world and spread out many broken pieces of a stone that held a dark power...one piece landed in the ocean, creating a small passage to the world of monsters, slipping through and landing in the oceans of the strange world. Slowly it began to have an effect on the creatures, a sickness of dark magic seeping from it and poisoning the seas, the waves that crashed into the shores infected the land with this sickness. Several creatures either went mad under the influence of this curse and many others would become weak and perish.
Fearing for their people’s safety, the 3 goddess’s took it upon themselves to locate the source of this sickness and find a way to rid their world of it. The Siren was the one to locate the stone that had infected this once peaceful world. She could feel darkness flowing from it, turning the water around it murky and vile. It made her sick to be around it, feeling the essences of it trying to infect her very soul. She wanted to flee from it, to swim away as quickly as she could before the darkness could take hold of her. But she needed to dispose of it in order to save not only her people but every other creature in this world. She took the stone to Clarity and Rozu; the two sisters felt the same effects from the stone as the Siren did. Together they created a seal to bind the stones wicked power, the seal of Oricalcos. It would keep the rocks effect under control and only those that knew how the seal worked would be able to harness the stones power. Together they travelled to the portal the stone had created and slipped through to return the cursed item from whence it came.
However when they arrived, they discovered that some of the creatures from their world had travelled to the human world and was currently engaged in a deadly fight. An army of twisted and dark creatures led by a corrupted man named Darts was trying to take over the world with a creature known as the Great Leviathan leading the fight. Many innocent lives were lost or turned into the dark creatures that fought for Darts. Cities and towns were turned to ash, humans slaughtered; nature itself was burned to the ground and trampled by these wicked beasts.
Seeing all this death and destruction, the goddess’s decided to join forces and fight for this world, to put themselves and their people at risk for the sake of humanity and the world they lived in. Clarity guided her army of light from the sky, casting down lightening and arrows upon the dark creatures below.
Rozu commanded her army of dead soldiers to raise from the earth and storm the enemy relentlessly, an unstoppable force of the undead. When one would fall to battle, two more would rise in its place.
And the Siren fought beside her warriors of the sea. With her trident in hand, she led her warriors in the glorious battle against the Leviathan in the sea.
Each creature fought tooth and nail to avenge those that had fallen and to protect those that remain. Many had fallen and yet the battles raged on. Soon there were only but a dozen left but the goddess’s remained strong. Storming Darts fortress, the city of Atlantis, Rozu entered the palace dead set on devouring the wicked man’s soul, however upon entering he was nowhere to be found. Clarity was elsewhere, taking out the remainder of Darts army, striking down the last beast with her golden sword. This left the Siren, standing against the leviathan.
She had lost many of her warriors, many of her friends, many of the beings that she had known for so many years and the leviathan wasn’t letting up. It still fought ferociously, its mighty claws and tail trying to land a hit on the siren. The goddess fought on however, unleashing a mighty weapon, an ear-piercing wail that echoed through the air and over the vast landscapes, causing cracks in the earth and the very foundation that Atlantis sat upon, bringing devastation to the once great city and more importantly bringing harm to the leviathan. The shock wave of the scream causing the beast great pain and suffering as it tried to disappear into the depths of the sea.
The creatures of the monster world started to retreat, escaping back to their world with the help of the goddess’s, opening a portal to their home. The siren was the last to reach the portal but stopped when she sensed the beast was nearby. Wishing to finish the monster off she dived into the ocean, following the leviathan to its hiding place. Hidden deep within a cave it reached out and grabbed her, dragging her to it to absorb her. She struggled in its strong grasp, unable to escape. She was already exhausted from using her strongest ability. She was out of options…or was she?
In a last attempt to save herself she started to sing a soft melody, the markings on her neck glowing, her song floating in the waters surrounding the two creatures. Slowly the leviathan’s eyes fell shut as it was forced into a deep slumber by the sirens song, curling up deep in the darkness. However it kept its hold on the goddess who was unable to escape. All she could do was sing to keep the beast asleep. And sing she would…
For 5000 years her song carried through the waves of the sea, many sailors would tell legends of the voice that was heard on the wind during cold nights when the sea was calm.
Over the years her voice grew weaker and weaker and so did she, her life fading, and her body becoming weak and frail to the point where she slipped from the beasts grasp. But by then it was too late, she was on deaths door. But she couldn’t give up. She knew that the leviathan would one day rise from its slumber and terrorise the world once again. She took her necklace in hand and stared at the blue jewel that was gifted to her eons ago by the creatures she swore to protect. Using her last breath she spoke a soft spell, breaking her vow of silence to transfer her soul into the gem, her body fading away into the waters surrounding her, the necklace floating away once there was nothing left of her.
Somewhere along the Nile…
A small boy no older than 6 was wondering along the shore line chasing a bird. His hair was a mix of black with red that stood up in 5 points, his bangs the colour of gold that framed his innocent little face and his eyes red. He wore the clothes of royalty, several guards could be seen in the area, a tent set up in the distance where the boy’s father, the pharaoh sat. He giggles as he continues his chase till he stumbles and falls into the sand. He sits up and shakes his head, trying to get rid of the sand covering his face. He glares down at the sand as if it had disrespected him before noticing a golden chain amongst the grains. Slowly he dug through the sand and pulled out a necklace that held a beautiful blue gem that gleamed in the sun light. He stared at it with wonder before running off to show is father.
