Who is the character who's hardest for you to write? And who's the easiest?

weirdly enough carey and killian are hit or misses for me? like i have tried So Many sweet flips fics where it took me so long to get their voices down. like, i like to think i finally got them down omg but there have been Many scrapped fics along the way. taako is also a hit or miss but that’s just bc he’s the character i write the most self-indulgent fics for so it’s a lot of “okay i’m trying to write abt my sad feelings but would taako actually feel/think like this” akjdkjd

barry was a surprisingly easy character for me to get down, but i like to think it’s bc my first barry-centric fic was like 20k words. lup is also fun to write for!!

1. Who makes the first move and how? Dani makes the first move bc, as obvious as Aubrey’s pining was, dani knew nothing would happen unless she did something. so she puts some pressed flowers, a drawing of dr bonkers, and a note asking aubrey to coffee into an envelope and slips it under her door. For Sweet Flips it was neither. they went to the mid-summer solstice festival together, dressed as each other. both of them, unplanned, wore shirts that say “world’s best girlfriend” and didn’t really feel the need to discuss past that.

3. Who is the most romantic? Aubrey (but in the kind of disastrous yet super endearing ‘i tried to make you dinner you dinner and almost burnt down the lodge’ way) and Carey (i’m sorry. the duck puzzle box yall? hello???)

4. Who can’t keep their hands to themselves? Dani. Not even always romantic either. sometimes she just picks up aubrey’s arm and shakes it so aubrey’s wrist will flop around, or just poke her in the sides when she’s carrying something so she can see her jump AND try and hold onto everything. she’ll absently play/fidget with aubrey’s clothes, draw on her arms if she doesn’t have paper. killian also struggles to keep her hands to herself. if she is near carey then she almost definitely has an arm wrapped around her or his holding her hand.

5. Who says ‘I love you’ first? Aubrey tells Dani she loves her the second they meet at the coffee shop. (Dani then has to watch as aubrey burns her mouth on coffee when she tried to drink the entire thing in one sip from embarrassment) Carey tells Killian she loves her first. Killian got drunk and decided to rearrange their room but flipping all of their furniture upside down. Carey kind of let it slip but didn’t regret it at all.

Speaking about Hollis's hair, I personally love them with teal hair but the idea of them with purple so that in their hornet jacket they're the non binary flag is too good to not love

!!!! (Apparently I had a lot to say about this so it got kind of long whoops) !!!!

Taako and Lup painted their nails to match their mood. This is something they had done together since they were little, a silent form of communication between them.

When they got accepted into the IPRE, Lup painted her nails orange and purple - excitement and satisfaction.

When they learned about the Hunger and what it was capable of, Taako painted his nails dark blue and forest green - fear and determination.

When one of the twins died before the other, the rest of the cycle was spent with black, chipping nail polish.

When Barry confessed his love for Lup, she spent the next five cycles with pink and red nails.

And then Lup disappeared, and Taako forgot.

In the ten years leading up to the day of Story and Song, Taako did not paint his nails. In fact, he didn’t care for them at all so that his nails were always broken, either too short or too long. Strange, considering his obsession with the rest of his appearance, but it never felt quite right.

The day after they stopped the apocalypse, the twins showed up with matching nail polish for the first time in over a century. Rainbow nails, except for their pinkies, which they kept intertwined the entire day. They were pure white - Relief

Do you have any HCs about Dani? I recently came up with one where Dani can knit incredibly well and fast because she would make scarves and sweaters and things for her younger siblings so she's had a lot of practice.

I have the headcanon that Dani has two younger sisters and a brother that she would always take care of up until she left. She often wonders how they’re doing but knows that she can’t talk to them.

Her and Jake have become close over the years and gained a type of sibling like bond that one would do anything for the other.

Another is that Dani totally found some hidden spots in the lodge where she goes to hide for “me time”. Often if shes found shes knitting or drawing or even reading/sleeping!

I absolutely adore your Hc Dani making scarves is the best thing 💕
