— special delivery, jumping out of your dreams !
on the morning of october 16, the official dream wave account neglected to message you, a clear sign that your audition to SR MEDIA was not successful in the end. however, another message graces your inbox from an official LIME ENTERTAINMENT source. it reads as follows:
RHEE CLAUDINE,
our reputation as a company is one that prides itself on discovering true talent among the thousands of idol hopefuls knocking on our doors. as you may know, it is no easy feat to earn a spot in our prestigious trainee program. because of this, we are forced to be strategically selective in our audition process.
that being said, our evaluators were highly impressed with the confidence that you displayed throughout the entirety of your performance, as well as your ability to rap with practiced ease and a natural flow. furthermore, we’ve seen your dance challenge video for the waterbomb festival. it’s clear that despite it being a simple social media challenge, you went all out with the few seconds that you had.
knowing all this, we would like to offer you a probationary position in our trainee program.
if you’re able to adjust to our program and show signs of improvement, we’ll be happy to extend a 90-day probationary contract to a full trainee contract. please take your time to carefully read through the terms and conditions of our standard probationary trainee contract before making this decision.
we hope that you make the choice to join lime entertainment’s prestigious trainee program.
regards,
kang heejin, lime entertainment talent acquisition representative.

— DREAM WAVE AUDITIONS END TONIGHT !
hey, everyone!
while getting ready for today's queue, we realized that we made a mistake regarding the dream wave auditions deadline. in the original post, the deadline was set to 8:59pm EST, right before queue, though in the reminder post last week we said it would go on until 11:59pm EST instead.
to avoid anyone potentially missing out on participating, we are officially extending the deadline to tonight, at 11:59pm EST. the second round of auditions will be posted tomorrow, at 9pm EST sharp, so be on the lookout then!
apologies for the confusion, and good luck to all those participating!

DREAMWAVE AUDITION.
yeseul doesn’t knows if this is a good idea. an idol? her? it’s so mismatch. hell, she can’t even dance. but it’s been lingering in her head for a long while, haunting her brain. she’s hesitant, even down to the very second she sets up the camera. her friends are supporting her, so she feels inclined to just… give it a try. it’s okay if she doesn’t passes, as long as she tries it out. she’s been in her comfort zone for a long while now, maybe this is her chance to step out of it.
she freshens her face up and combs her hair, then pretends to talk to herself. there’s no one here but her, there’s nothing to be anxious about. she’ll wing this in one go without looking back. yeseul stutters a little in her introduction, dread painting her face for a moment, but she moves forward regardless.
DREAM COMPANY
“music… i love m-music,” yeseul begins, clasping her hands. “i grew up… composing music with my dad. so… making music… it’s my most favourite thing in the world!” she starts to speak a little faster. even though she just started talking, she could feel her own heartbeats. “so studio.. del.. delta! that’s my dream company! composing, writing lyrics… i think i can do all of that in studio delta. i want to make people happy.. with my music.” she feels her heart sinking a little, that she couldn’t convey what she wanted to exactly. “another company… um, honestly… i’m only thinking about studio delta.”
PREVIOUS MUSICAL EXPERIENCE
“mmh… i uplo-…load covers of my singing on youtube,” the girl nods her head, thinking hard. “i dropped out of school in… high school, but i did joined a singing competition once… and i got third place! uhh… piano, guitar, drums… i know how to play them. almost everything learnt them on my own. it’s important for composing after all!”
SKILLS
“i… have this stu… stuttering condition,” yeseul thinks it’s better to explain after all. “but i realise when i sing… it goes away. like this…” and she quickly demonstrates this by singing the solfège syllables smoothly without a hitch. “or when i start rapping, or fast talking! like exactly what i’m doing right now, it’s a little weird, but i realise that my voice doesn’t gets stuck whenever it turns into ‘music’. i hope i’m not talking too quickly but i did mentioned before that i love composing music! i have a music circle online where i produce songs, i think i released about… four songs last month? i love all genres, so i can create anything as long as i have the inspiration!” yeseul pauses for a moment to catch her breath, but she’s done explaining anyways.
OTHER TALENTS
for this section… yeseul doesn’t has any other hobbies than music, which could sound a bit pathetic. maybe she’ll just list out the things she’s good at! “i… like voice acting! the variety and depths had always been interesting to me…” yeseul lowers the pitch of her voice to sound more like a cool androgynous villain, then contrasts it with a high pitched feminine voice, resembling a cheery high school student, “and i can sound really cute like this ♡” then the embarrassment hits her, and she cringes out on camera. yeseul speaks normally afterwards. “this is… real- related to composing again but! if i’m good at writing lyrics, i’m good at writing poetry! you know.. literature and all that stuff. according to my fan- friends! i have eloquent writing.” she raises her hands, pretending to write on air.
FAVORITE ARTISTS
it’s yeseul’s favourite part now, great! her eyes are sparkling, and a bright smile curls on her lips. “i! have a lot!” and here, she starts talking fast without realising. “i love all kinds of genres but i like the ones that aren’t so…. mainstream in korea? like vocaloids! my favourite is IA. i also enjoy listening to utaites a lot— mafumafu, and 96neko are some of my favourites! recently i’ve been liking mili a lot too, the vocalist sings in english a lot and her voice control is really skilful…! ah, i also really like stella jang! her sound feels very unique… i haven’t talked about osts- oh! wait! i have to stop here, otherwise this would get too long, i’m sorry!” yeseul quickly bows shyly when she realises she started yapping away.
at the very end, she gives an awkward smile. yeseul doesn’t knows what she’s doing at this point, but it got fun towards the end. what can she say? music puts a smile on her face. it may be awkward, but it's genuine.

riha has never auditioned for a company before.
to be fair...is this really an audition? she's auditioning for an audition, right? well...that's kind of what they all are, right? aren't most auditions multiple rounds?
she doesn't really know. all she knows is that if she's serious about accomplishing her mom's dream - her dream, by extension - then she needs to do more than take dance lessons and practice singing and rapping by herself. in the worst case, they'll tell her no, or won't say a thing to her, and she would've taken one important step toward her goals.
so she sits down against the wall in her local dance studio, and turns the camera on.
"hi, i'm hong riha," she greets the camera with a tiny wave and smile, "and i guess i'll just...get into it?" she giggles.
DREAM COMPANY:
"when it comes to companies...i don't really mind? i think they're all nice, and have their charms. i would feel bad picking one over the other." as if the companies themselves have feelings, or anyone working there would take having a preference personally. she almost said i don't think i have enough skill to be picky anyway, but decided that was better left unsaid. "maybe lime? lime's artists are very skilled, and i heard that they don't mind teaching people...i forget where, but i heard it," she laughs lightly again. "yuna sunbaenim was also really nice on next gen. and i like her songs."
PREVIOUS MUSICAL EXPERIENCE:
she smiles, nervous. "truthfully...i don't really have musical experience. i take dance lessons, and i've been in sports my entire life. music has otherwise been a hobby up until this point," she admits. "oh!" she remembers suddenly. "i can play guitar! and i've been practicing both singing and rapping. but that's all."
SKILLS: here
OTHER TALENTS:
"well...like i said, i play sports. i'm really good at volleyball, and football, and swimming, and tennis. running too! my dad is hong minjun, the football player. i'm also a black belt in taekwondo, but i'm a little rusty now. i can also bench press 58 kilos! that's really good for a women of my size," she nods sagely, "and i'm working to do better every day! i'm also a personal trainer. i went to school for kinesiology, so i know a lot about staying in shape." do any of those actually count as talents...? "i'm not sure how well that translates to becoming a kpop idol, but i think i'd beat everyone else at the idol star athletics championships, which is a fun bonus!" she grins. then suddenly, she remembers something very important: "oh! i went to university in california, so," she switches to english, "i'm pretty good at english now!" she gives the camera two thumbs up.
FAVORITE ARTISTS:
she hums. she did think about the question ahead of time, but she already forgets what she wanted to say for this part, and she doesn't really want to retape everything now. she could probably do better in general, sure, but - she doesn't really have time for that, either.
"i really like kehlani and tinashe," she recalls, thankfully. "i've liked tyla a lot these days, too. rina sawayama, conan gray..." she realizes this list of artists is very, what the kids would call, 'queer-coded,' and quickly pivots to kpop, since that's more relevant anyway. "and yuna sunbaenim," she smiles, a little shy once more. "and nana...nana is wonderful. i also really admire a.maze's performances. they're, um...for lack of a better word...amazing?" there was definitely a better word. she should probably re-record this.
instead, she lets out another nervous laugh and shakes her head.
"okay, i think i answered all the questions! this has been hong riha. thank you!"

dream wave audition /
he was going to go for it.
what was the harm right? the worse they could do was not call him back and it wouldn't be the first time it happened.
so, why not give it a chance.
that's how taegeun found himself in a small room, recording this audition? introduction video? either way, it was time to record. "hello, this is kwon taegeun." he gave a bow, paired with a v pose. why not be a little fun? it didn't take long for him to launch into the answers.
"i would say, studio delta would be my first choice of a company, followed by sr media. i think both companies have the sound that i lean towards and the future i want to create for myself." if he was being honest, he would take either company. lime wasn't for him but it wasn't if he'd turn down an opportunity at a contract, he was ready to take whatever they wanted to give out. but if he thought about personal goals as well, studio delta would be best, followed by sr.
hopefully, he didn't come across as too picky on camera.
"for any experience i had, i was a trainee for a few months at an unknown company…i quickly found out it was shady and left. since then, I've been taking vocal lessons for about five years now…and i'm currently on a dance crew, we give street performances and often sign up for festivals and dance competitions. during high school, i attended an arts school as well, it was the main reason i made the move to seoul." there was no formal experience but he had a lot heart, that had to count for something right?
"as for my skills, i would say that i'm fairly well rounded for being self-taught." did it sound like bragging? he wasn't sure but tae also didn't want to downplay himself. if anyone was going to talk him up, he'd have to talk himself up. which rolled right into his next point, "i'm also fluent in English…mainly through tutoring, i think i can translate fairly well and understand pretty easily. i can't say i sound the best but i can communicate myself clearly. and i have a large interest in music, as far as lyric writing and production, that inspired me to pick up the drums and guitar…if i want to create music…it'd be good to know how to play right? that aside, this pretty random and has nothing to do with being an idol but i also love wood-working, there's something calming about it and i love creating, art and everything having to do with that."
it was rambling towards the end, but that would be endearing right? tae didn't stop to think about it. he wanted this to be a real first take and look into him.
"to finish it off, I think I enjoy a variety are artist, some of my favorites are DARL!NG, MFBTY and 2PM."
he gave a final smile and wave, followed by a bow before reaching out to turn off the camera.
that little bit would be cut out.

DREAMWAVE AUDITION.
an opportunity came, and who is yiran if he didn’t tried to take it? he adjusts the camera, going over his lines again and again. all has to be perfect. he ensures that he’s in the middle of the frame, and that the lighting is good. fortunately, he has a ring light. he’s used to filming videos of himself but… he really isn’t confident about his face, it feels… bare. but yiran tries his best, it could change his life after all. at least he did his skincare well enough that his face has a nice glow to it.
yiran clears his throat, gazing into the camera. all he has to do is act like himself.
DREAM COMPANY
“studio delta,” yiran says almost instantly, as if there isn’t any other company to think about. he knows that out of the three, studio delta is the most difficult to get into, which is honestly nerve-wrecking, but he doesn’t lets it show on his face. “i’ve always had a passion for creation, choreography specifically, and i believe studio delta will allow me to explore that creativity with an open mind. all the artists in studio delta are impactful in their own ways, but what i notice is that everyone that debuted isn’t just about talent, but also how much blood and sweat is poured into what they do. i too, would like to break the limits of my potential.”
these words did carry a lot of weight, but yiran means what he said.
SECOND DREAM COMPANY
initially, yiran thought about skipping it, but he went with it anyways. “another choice is sr media,” he continues. he’s dead set on studio delta, but he thinks about how his mother would have pushed him to sr media instead. maybe, he’s just saying this to comfort himself a little. “i have an acting background, so the unique concepts that sr media has are eye-catching. i also admire how multitalented the artists are.”
PREVIOUS MUSICAL EXPERIENCE
“i grew up with traditional chinese dances,” a memory flashes in his mind, thinking of those days where his mother would have relentlessly sent him to such classes. “i have knowledge of quite a few of them, but it’s stronger when it comes to fan dancing — shan zi wu (扇子舞). it incorporates a lot of graceful movements, and for that i had to learn some acrobatics to control my balance and agility.” yiran pauses momentarily. “singing wise… i do have some experience in chinese opera as a result of my mother’s influence, but i did not pursue it professionally.”
SKILLS
“currently, i’m attending k-arts as a modern dance major. it was quite difficult to transition from traditional to modern at first, but i got it down rather quickly. it was more helpful than i thought. i’m also at the dance studio almost everyday, and i take down a lot of notes with choreographing from professionals.” yiran particularly says this with utmost confidence. “i don’t have much experience with vocals, but i find myself taking vocal lessons sometimes whenever my schedule allows me to.”
OTHER TALENTS
this part took quite some thought for yiran. he didn’t know what to actually say in this segment. in fact, he was almost sure this would lose him some points. “i… cosplay. cosplaying is a network of several skills and hobbies: sewing, makeup, and styling. i know how to do all of that roughly, and i’m self taught. i learnt most of it online.” okay, that’s it. he can’t bring himself to go in depth about it. “i’m not sure if this is a talent but… in my gaokao year, i was top 10… in beijing.” suddenly, he feels embarrassed about it, since it could come off as bragging.
“i… mentioned i have an acting background, acting was actually my main priority when i was younger. i’ve appeared in several shows up until i was a teenager, they were mostly side roles, but i did acquired a main role once.” yiran doesn’t expands on the rest of it.
FAVORITE ARTISTS
“some artists i like are s.h.e, tfboys, and wang lihong. i grew up with these artists in china, but korea artists wise… i like darl!ng a lot. i always thought their experimental sound was interesting, and i still listen to them nowadays even if they’re disbanded.”
the recording comes to an end. yiran leans back against his chair for a while. it’s over, for now.

mimi's dream wave audition!
getting the chance to audition was enough for mimi, her thought process being that this was at least some sort of step towards her dream of debuting someday. the moment that she had seen the announcement for the dream wave auditions she was quick to find a quiet place in order to make sure she not only complied with their terms, but also so that she would be alone to focus properly and not screw something up during the whole recording.
mimi made sure to find a plain white long sleeved dress that she had stored away in her closet. it hadn't been something she originally wanted to buy when she had gone shopping a few weeks ago, though she's glad she let one of her friends talk her into it in the end because it was really the only 'plain' article of clothing that she even owned at this point in time. most of her clothes were colorful or just not appropriate for any sort of audition.
setting up the camera and closing her door so that none of her friends that were over could bother her, mimi smiles once the camera begins recording and starts her first steps towards hopefully becoming a trainee.
DREAM COMPANY: "my dream company is lime entertainment~" she happily says, her smile growing as she speaks. "i've always been a fan of the artists under lime, actually i'm pretty sure there isn't a single album that their artists have released that i don't own. i don't know exactly what got me to become a big fan of the company really, though there's just something about them that always seemed to capture my attention." she states, tilting her head slightly towards the side.
"i guess it could partially be because of the artists under the company, though i guess you could also say that i really enjoy how they always seem to really give it their best and a lot of thought when debuting their artists, just like they do when they release new music as well. maybe i was even drawn to the company because of how unique their name is? that's something that also stood out to me when i first discovered lime entertainment and ever since then i've been following each group they debut after."
SECOND DREAM COMPANY: did she even have a second dream company? she wasn't too sure, especially since she had only ever really dreamt of being in lime entertainment, though there is another company she wouldn't mind if she had the chance of entering. "i don't really have a second dream company, but if i had to choose it would probably have to be sr media?" the answer comes out more like a question rather than an actual statement, mostly because she really isn't sure nor had she ever had a backup plan made up for if she weren't ever able to get into lime.
PREVIOUS MUSICAL EXPERIENCE: there honestly wasn't much for her to say for this portion, mostly because she had never gone to some fancy musical schools or done anything majorly 'great' that could be considered as experience when it came to music. aside from her doing a few competitions in school here and there, mimi really didn't have much to go off of sadly and now she was wishing that she did.
"honestly other than a few school competitions i don't really have much musical experience. other than also teaching myself what i know now from youtube videos? i can't really say that i went to a music-based school other than attending SOPA once i arrived in korea and graduating from there." she gives a small pout at her lack of experience before finally continuing on.
SKILLS: [ ♡ ] "i think other than what i learned from attending SOPA, what i've learned from being self-taught and the occasional school competitions i've gone through, that i may not be the best when it comes to rap, dance, or even singing but i still put my all into what i do and work every day on bettering my skills so that i can confidently stand on stage someday without worrying." she smiles softly as she speaks, straightening up a little as she does so.
OTHER TALENTS: humming softly and nodding her head a little, mimi begins to answer the next question. "i'm multi-lingual. i can speak japanese, korean, and i'm probably about an intermediate level when it comes to english? i'm not saying i'm perfect with the language, though i can still get by if i were to ever take a trip somewhere like the states." thankfully one good thing came with having wealthy parents that didn't pay much attention to her. she got to travel a bit with her big brother overseas often and learned english along the way.
"i'm really big on doing little DIY projects that i find online, some that involve furniture and others that involve things like clothes, keychains, phone cases... basically anything that i find interesting and want to try my hand at! though i will admit i'm pretty decent at playing the violin. it's something i was sort of thrown into at a young age and honestly really enjoyed doing. oh! i'm also great when it comes to baking and making sweets."
FAVORITE ARTISTS: squinting a bit, mimi thinks on the last portion of the audition as she tries to pick a favorite artist amongst the list of those she listens to. "some of my favorite artists would have to be YunA, PRIZM, and Starlie from lime entertainment. a few others outside of korea would be... Misamo, XG, Katseye, NiziU, Perfume, NAME, G.E.M, TNT and Sofia Carson."

kaito's dream wave audition!
was he even ready to go through all of this again? probably not, though that wasn't going to stop him from at least trying. he had already failed once before so what was possibly a second time? it's true that he wasn't too messed up about failing previously but at the same time he still wasn't entirely sure if he'd even make it this time either, not like it would matter to him since he had the mindset of pushing forward and not giving up on his dream of becoming an idol someday.
reading through the requirements one last time, kaito takes a deep breath and exhales softly as he sets up the camera on a tripod. it's a bit 'depressing' that he no longer has a roommate, though at this time it's almost a sort of 'blessing' since it gave him the quite space needed to film his audition video.
with the plain white wall behind him, dressed in a simple black t-shirt and jeans, he situates himself before turning the camera on and finally beginning the audition. of course, he's going to answer all of the questions honestly and to the best of his ability, not wanting to hold back anything that could possibly hinder his chances even more.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀•❅──────✧❅✦❅✧──────❅•
DREAM COMPANY: this was a tough one for kaito, especially since he didn't exactly have a dream company that he ever really thought of. usually his answer would be something along the lines of 'it doesn't matter to me' though there were a few issues with that answer. one, it made it seem like he just didn't care about actually being successful or debuting. two? well, it wasn't exactly the ideal answer to give for an audition.
So, prior to turning the camera on, Kaito had gone through each and every company he could before finally coming up with some sort of decision. "I would probably have to say studio delta. Not only do I enjoy listening to some of their groups, but I also like that they take time to mold their debut groups into what we see today. the company itself is one of which i'd love to be a part of if given the chance to do so."
SECOND DREAM COMPANY: "my second dream company would have to be probably sr media. originally this company would have been my first choice, though i've heard that it's really hard to get into the company and even though i do love a good challenge, i'm not sure if even i'd be able to get in with my lack of skills." he answers honestly as usual, nodding his head a couple times at his own answer. even though kaito was more than confident in himself, even he knows when to accept moments of 'defeat' and with sr media he can only show that small part of him that isn't confident that he'd ever make it into the company.
"aside from that, as i stated with my first dream company, there's also some groups there that i often listen to and enjoy. i often would listen to their artists back home and even after coming to korea a few years ago." he gives a small shrug. "i really enjoy the music that the company produces and i've also covered a few of their dances with some friends."
PREVIOUS MUSICAL EXPERIENCE: taking a moment, kaito thinks through everything he's done up until now before speaking. "i've participated in a few dance competitions back in japan, some of which i did win while others i wasn't so lucky. they ranged from school competitions to even competitions they held for prizes at the mall or on the street. i was also in next gen recently, though as you can see i didn't exactly make it." he gives a small chuckle to show that not only isn't he upset about it too much, but also that he's okay with still not having made it yet.
"aside from that, i was also a student at Kyoto University of Arts for a year before i eventually came to korea." he's sure that many others auditioning have more experience than him when it comes to more 'professional' experience, though that won't stop him from at least giving it his all for this. he's even more determined now that he had some time back home after next gen to gather his own thoughts and push forward.
SKILLS: [ ✦ ] "if i had to list a couple things i'm really confident at, it would have to be rapping and dancing. i'm not too bad when it comes to singing, and i have next gen to thank for that, though it's probably not my best skill that's out there." pursing his lips in thought, kaito takes a moment before continuing. "that's not to say i'm not working on my singing still, though if i had to go with what i'm better at it would definitely be rap and dance for sure."
maybe things would have gone differently during next gen if he had focused on singing from the beginning, though to be honest he hadn't ever really had much interest in the skill before. he wanted to be a rapper after all, that's what he loved to do the most, though kaito knows now that idols need to be well versed in what they do in order to really make it out there in the entertainment industry.
OTHER TALENTS: doing this audition was something that was helping him remember things that he often hid from others, or rather just didn't talk about since they were never brought up, though now that he was here and exposing himself more than when he was filming for next gen he didn't really know where to begin. "well, i'm a tutor so i'm pretty good when it comes to different subjects, though i guess you can say i'm really good at doing math. i often like to do some rapid math as a sort of 'game' with those i tutor to see who can answer faster and more correctly."
pausing for a moment, kaito hums softly as he goes down the list. "there's also bass guitar, cooking, photography, piano and even eating spicy foods, though i guess that last one isn't really a 'talent' is it?" at least to him it was, even if they didn't think so. most of his friends back home couldn't eat half of the things that he could, at least not at the same level of spiciness.
FAVORITE ARTISTS: there's not much to think about when this portion comes up, not when it comes to someone like kaito who has a list of artists that he religiously listens to daily. "there's quite a few so i'm just going to start listing the major ones i enjoy. HIT, Jude, B.E.T, Vertex, A.Maze, BxY, Hiraeth, RI5E, and LIGHTSPEED would be some from here. If we're talking about other places as well?" a small smile forms on his lips. "there's ONE OK ROCK, XY, JO1, INI-" realizing that he's rambling on at this point, kaito stops and laughs a little.
"sorry, i'm rambling but yeah i have a lot of favorites, some of which are the reason that i started dreaming of being an idol. RI5E is one of them that really made me realize my dream when i first heard some of their songs back home."

DREAMWAVE AUDITION
this is nerve-wrecking. in truth, changmin has no idea what had possessed him to do this. but he's always wanted to be a rockstar, and this – well would this bring him closer to his dream? he's not too sure about that. he stares at himself in front of the mirror, awkward limbs and demeanour. which company would want him? which?
maybe he should – yeah! changmin is made for this. he isn't made to be an idol. maybe he should give it up, return to france once he's graduated and work with his parents. that sounded better, that sounded more feasible. right? right!
he picks up his phone, ready to lie on the bed when a notification pops up on his screen. his quote of the day. "some days you're gonna get it right and some days you're gonna get it wrong. but no matter what, never stop trying to get it!".
that's right. changmin shouldn't stop, he shouldn't give up. he won't! he nods his head in affirmation, and swipes to the video recording mode. he'll try!
DREAM COMPANY
"my..." he's already stuttering, and he licks his lips. i can do this! "my dream company is studio delta!" changmin says, determined. "i've always admired studio delta artistes, and it would be a dream to be a part of their lineup, and learn from the best!" more, changmin should say more. "my dream... is to be a rockstar! and i think i can be a really accomplished one in studio delta."
SECOND DREAM COMPANY
oh dear. a second dream company? "my second dream company..." he begins, "is sr media! i think all the idols under sr media are very multi-talented. i see them go outside the field of music, and it takes... a lot of talent to be able to do that!"
PREVIOUS MUSICAL EXPERIENCE
musical experience? well changmin's got some of that, thanks to his parents. "i grew up in a theatre group... i never really did much performance on stage," because the lights always felt like they'd shine too brightly. and i'm not quite an actor, "but i served as an accompaniment for a lot of theatre shows, with my piano. i'd compose some songs here and there... and i used to go to an arts school back in france, where i majored in music, focusing on the piano."
which, he thinks probably isn't amazing – he's sure they'll get hundreds of applicants, all with specs that they can't quite pass up.
SKILLS ( x )
"i never quite stood on stage much to perform," he begins, "but i think i'm a pretty talented singer. i really love to sing," he's confident this time in his skill. whilst he had focused on the piano mainly back in school, he'd gotten quite a number of compliments for his voice and the way it sounded – how he somehow knew how to hold a note.
OTHER TALENTS
other talents... changmin doesn't have much, at least he doesn't think so. but there is something that comes to mind. "i can mimic the sound of a trumpet with my mouth!" he beams, "give me a moment please." he takes in a deep breath, before pursing his lips and mimicking the noise of a trumpet, playing jason derulo's talk dirty, before breaking out into a wide, innocent smile.
FAVORITE ARTISTS
"i have a lot of favourite artists! my favourite are definitely n.flying, day6...! and one ok rock! i love their music! i look up to them, and i'd love to make music like them one day!"

he adjusts his phone once, then twice. then yejun adjusts his own position. is he centered in the frame? is it tilted? does he just look weird? he's stared at himself for so long already, procrastinating hitting record, that he's not sure he even recognizes his own face anymore. it's like saying the same word over and over and over again until it loses all meaning he's not sure how to relax his nerves but there's also no putting this off any further. yejun takes a deep breath, and pushes the button.
"hello, my name is hwang yejun," he introduces himself, bowing respectfully to his camera and feeling awkward for it. it's not a person after all, even though he's trying to envision the human being who will be watching back this recording later. "and... i'm submitting for the dreamwave auditions."
DREAM COMPANY & SECOND DREAM COMPANY:
"i think i'd suit studio delta best," yejun admits, perhaps a bit nervously. he knows it's the hardest to get into and he sounds like he's making a huge claim with those words. "i've been writing music for a while now, i play with my friends in a band. i don't know, i just... yeah." his eloquence escapes him even though he knows he can redo as many takes as he needs for this. he just wants to get it over. "if i'm not good enough for their standards... well, i have friends in sr media too. i think i'd be able to suit the company well with their help."
PREVIOUS MUSICAL EXPERIENCE:
"ah, well, if you think i look a little familiar, i did make it through most of next gen season two before i was eliminated in the finale. it was a disappointing result, wasn't it?" he sighs, though it doesn't sting as much as he thought it might. "i've always loved music. i did as many school plays and musicals as i could, even if my parents got mad at me for volunteering. and i think i mentioned the band with my friends... it's the third i've been in since i did my military service, actually. i just... love to make music. it's been my dream since i was a kid." a small smile cracks his lips. he's not very boastful naturally, so it feels weird to almost brag about this.
SKILLS:
"if i had to pick one, i guess i'm mostly a singer. but honestly... i'm sort of greedy to do it all. i'd like to learn to dance better, rap seems like it could be fun. i don't really want to limit myself to one skill even though... one is definitely my strongest right now," yejun acknowledges. "i guess i'm ambitious in that sense."
OTHER TALENTS:
"i... taught myself a lot of instruments. basically everything my parents said no to, i wanted to learn," yejun lets out a short laugh. oh, they'd be so mad at him now knowing that he's still doing auditions, still neglecting his education. but since they kicked him out, there's nothing they can do to stop him anymore. "i played drums in those bands i was in, but i know guitar, bass, a little bit of piano or keyboard... i could be a band by myself if it really fame down to it," he manages a sheepish grin. "and songwriting... we haven't performed anything i've written yet. i haven't even shown the others, honestly. but... i'm decent, i guess. i have a lot to learn."
FAVORITE ARTISTS:
yejun has to pause, suddenly unable to remember any artist ever as soon as he has to answer the question. "uh," he stalls for time, "i always looked up to link from lightspeed... and j-yoon from h.i.t of course. vertex... um, i forgot everyone i have on my playlist, suddenly," he laughs, embarrassed. "and i can't check, since i'm using my phone to record this."
rather than embarrass himself more, yejun figures it's best to wrap it up here. "thank you for your time," he bows again, polite as ever. "please consider me well."

— RIDE THE WAVE TOWARDS YOUR DREAMS !
on the morning of wednesday, august 28, a new audition event was announced through axis labels’ official social media accounts: dream wave auditions!
this event will encompass all companies under the axis labels, with a twist: this time, the companies will choose who they want auditioning for them!
those looking to participate in the first round of events must record themselves answering a few questions that the companies have prepared on their official website. participants must be wearing simple clothing and little to no makeup, and the video must be recorded in a quiet space and preferably against a white background. along with the video, it is required to send in a form with some basic information such as age, height, nationality, etc.
after the first round ends, the three companies under axis labels will deliberate on who they want to call back for a second round of in-person auditions. more details will be revealed at a later time.
good luck, wannabes!
hello and welcome to the first part of the dream wave auditions! this event is for wannabes only and will run until september 18 at 8:59pm EST, right before the weekly activity check. any solos posted after the deadline will not count towards participation. no points will be awarded during this event, so there is no form to submit to the points blog.
please use the hashtag #BE:DREAMWAVEAUDITION for all posts relating to this event.
TO PARTICIPATE IN THE AUDITION PROCESS, please write a 300+ word solo about your character answering the following questions in a recorded video:
DREAM COMPANY:
SECOND DREAM COMPANY: choosing to not include a second option will not increase your chances of being cast in your first option
PREVIOUS MUSICAL EXPERIENCE: any sort of music-related activity your character has participated in, be it school musicals, competitions, college courses, etc. both official roleplay events and muse background info will be considered for this, though with different weights.
SKILLS: please include here the link to your points spreadsheet. make sure it’s updated!
OTHER TALENTS: does your character have any other skills or talents besides what we track for the roleplay? be it knowledge in different languages, mathematical skills, aegyo, etc.
FAVORITE ARTISTS: both senior artists from our three companies and real world acts are accepted.
please feel free to answer the questions directly as if you would be filling out a form, rather than writing out a literate solo about it, similar to what we had for the reflection questions during the next gen event. this is meant to be a quicker first round of auditions than usual!
once you have posted your solo, please submit a link to it to the events blog.
the list of characters called back to audition will be revealed at a later time, along with more instructions for the second part of the event.
good luck!

DREAMWAVE AUDITION !
claudine doesn't know what spurred her to browse through these set of questions and turn on her camera. to be an idol—it's not exactly her dream, but there is a stage for her to conquer. and if there's one thing claudine knows, it's the ability to set the camera's sight on her. she'd always been an actress, reaching for the spotlight with some sort of hunger. here, too, is no different. even though she's using her personal equipment instead of what she's used to.
she flashes the camera a smile, waving a hand. she keeps her posture straight, but open and friendly. her lips spread into a rather excited grin, even though half of it is just for show. "hello! i'm claudine rhee, but you can call me chanmi too. today i'll be trying out my luck!"
one breath. this is just like auditioning for a role, she tells herself.
DREAM COMPANIES
"my dream company.. that would be sr media," claudine answers without missing a beat. "not only are they talented artists on stage, but they're able to forge go on other endeavours! whether it be acting, modelling, hosting... i highly respect that versatility, and i hope to replicate that in my own career moving forward. not to mention all they're amazing concepts!" her excitement is genuine—honestly, sr media is the only company that she's interested in. "if i had to pick another company i'd go for, that would be lime entertainment." she doesn't go into further explanation, really.
PREVIOUS MUSICAL EXPERIENCE
truth be told, claudine's musical experience mostly stem from her time as part of her theatre troupe. "as a child, i was heavily trained in musical theatre. i was in a theatre troupe along with my parents, where we'd weave choreography and gestures into our act on stage. singing, i've always been rather fond of—it's a musical, after all. ah, i've recently gotten into rapping as well." despite her focus being acting, she isn't unfamiliar with music.
SKILLS
"i suppose as of now, if i were to rank my skills, i'd say that rapping is the forefront. i've garnered an interest in it as of late!" claudine hums, wondering what else she should mention to strengthen her application. "i've always focused on singing when it came to musical theatre though." there isn't much she can expand on this front—everything feels self explanatory.
OTHER TALENTS
"since i was born and raised in france, i can speak french." she takes moment to speak—say a greeting, how lovely the day is, a phrase that most people might now. "i've also brushed up on my english, since there are a lot of scripts i loved to read that were in english!"
what else could she mention? "ah, i'm very interested in the art of make-up and costume making. one of my hobbies... involve both of those. i used to do my own stage make-up back in my theatre troupe, and i'm very good! costume making is also something i'm learning more and more day by day. i've always been interested in fashion design itself."
FAVOURITE ARTISTS
"i love a lot of sr media artists! goeun in particular is amazing, i love her music and admire how she's a triple threat! but i'm also a fan of hiraeth, i've seen the concepts they've managed to pull off and i wonder how they do it. i hear that they're also active in the making of their concepts? that's the level i'd love to be at."
with all the questions answered, she ends the recording with a smile. "thank you for your time, i hope to make it to the next round!"

˙ ˖ ✧ — DREAMWAVE AUDITION. eunbin's audition tape for dreamwave.
it feels odd standing in front of a camera like this. the last time eunbin recalls a similar situation was when she was auditioning for the cheer team. she's not sure what was the final push that made her want to submit an audition tape, but this felt like a fun way to get herself more out there. becoming an idol wasn't her number one goal, but it was a dream that continued to linger in the back of her mind. she loved performing on stage and loved the cheers of people watching her even more, so this felt like a natural step to take.
DREAM COMPANY.
"hello, i'm shin eunbin," she started out with an introduction, giving a slight bow toward the camera before moving onto the questions she would have to answer. "i would say my dream company is studio delta and if i had to choose a second, maybe lime entertainment? of course, i'd work hard no matter where i end up going!"
PREVIOUS MUSICAL EXPERIENCE.
"i know how to play the piano!" she exclaimed before pretending to play with her fingers for a moment. eunbin hestiates for a second, wondering if her cheerleading experience would count as musical experience, but this whole tape was meant to introduce herself, and she felt like she couldn't leave that out.
"i've also been on my university cheer squad since my sophomore year, marking this my third year on the team. while it may not be strictly musical, it is stage experience, which i believe is important for an idol to have! this also means that i have basic dancing experience, and i know how to choreograph." she sounds a little boastful, but again, eunbin believes that she needs to appeal to whomever this tape will reach, and this is the best asset she has.
SKILLS.
"as i mentioned before, i do have a lot of dance experience. i've been dancing from a young age and continued to until now. as a cheerleader, i know how to choreograph my own routines. i haven't done a lot of singing outside of singing along to my university's cheer songs and whatever i sing at karaoke, but i've been told i have a pretty tone."
OTHER TALENTS.
"as a broadcasting major, i know how to give good speeches and how to speak in a way that projects," she mentions. while eunbin wasn't sure if that counted as a talent, it seemed like an important skill to have if she were to become a public figure. "i also work part-time at a kid's cafe, so i'm really good at acting out parts in story books and whatnot, so i'm good at voice impersonations!"
FAVORITE ARTISTS.
"i like some older rock band artists, such as buzz and yb band. my father would listen to them a lot, so i think i naturally started listening to them as well. but also, back when i was a student, i loved cherish like every other girl in my grade and jude as well! rock and r&b is my style, but i really love any sort of pop music, too."
with that, she gave another bow toward the camera before hopping over to turn it off. well, there's that. now she'll leave the rest up to destiny.

there's nothing scary about being on camera anymore. yinuo has recordings of herself from her very first dance practice; nothing can be worse than that? but even now she watches back on those old videos with a smile. she knew nothing back then. to be honest, she still doesn't know much now but the improvement is blatant even to an untrained eye. yinuo can't help but be proud of herself for doing something scary... and ultimately coming out on top.
she's no professional, but she manages to set herself up with a decent setup for filming her audition tape for dreamwave. well, if it can even be called that. she's not sure why it's an interview instead of a test of her skills, but maybe personality is all that's really needed to be an idol these days. yinuo isn't concerned; she has plenty of that.
DREAM COMPANY & SECOND DREAM COMPANY:
"hi!" she beams into the camera, greeting whoever will be watching this with a polite bow. "my name is zhou yinuo, and my korean is better than you'd think, right?" she grins, clearly proud of herself. "if i just came in first place on next gen and had the choice of any axis labels company, i honestly think i'd choose studio delta. but in case that doesn't work out, i think i'd be a good fit for lime entertainment. honestly though, i'd work hard to be successful and happy wherever i might end up!"
PREVIOUS MUSICAL EXPERIENCE:
"right, my resume. i bet you're wondering how i learned korean too, right? well, a few years ago, i auditioned and got into a little company called kt entertainment. they brought me over to korea where i started training for a girl group they were going to debut. ah, but, you probably noticed, i didn't make the final cut. i didn't fit their concept at the time, i think," yinuo can only shrug; it was disappointing at the time, but these days she sort of thinks it may have been for the best.
"i trained for over a year with them before they finalized the lineup. i left the company shortly after, since it was obvious that i wasn't going to get another chance to debut for a very long time. since then, i've tried to keep up on the skills i've learned with independent practice! you should check out my tiktok if you want to see how many dance challenges i've done since then." the girl winks at the camera, a little cheeky as if she momentarily forgets that this is supposed to be somewhat professional. oh well; she's showing off her personality.
SKILLS:
"i caught on quickest to dancing when i was training, and i think it's the most fun for me too. i can sing a little bit but i'll be honest and say i could use a lot more practice with that... i haven't kept up on it as much as i've kept dancing in my free time. oh, and i use my voice a lot for my job, i do a lot of talking, so it hasn't been in the best condition... but i'm a quick learner! so don't count me out!" briefly, she wonders if she should get up and show a bit of what she says she can do. but the instructions didn't say to to anything like that, so yinuo makes the choice not to. if they want to see it, they'll have to call her to do it in person.
OTHER TALENTS:
"i was born and raised in china, so of course i speak mandarin." yinuo pauses to demonstrate briefly, repeating exactly what she just said in a second language just to prove a point. "i've learned some english too... but not enough that i feel confident in showing you," she laughs, a bit embarrassed. should she edit that out? nah, they'll only notice the jump cut.
"oh!" the girl exclaims, suddenly remembering something. "i have an incredible sense of balance. i've never dropped a serving tray no matter what was piled up on it, and i can find the balance point of anything on my hand. it might take me a minute but once i've found it i can keep any object balanced for as long as you want me to!"
FAVORITE ARTISTS:
"my favorite artist is myself," the girl boasts, though immediately erupts into a fit of giggles. "no, i do have that sort of confidence, but i know i can't call myself an artist yet. of axis' many impressive acts i have to say i'm the biggest fan of goeun, bltz, starlie and prizm, and nina! i love girl groups and soloists and i grew up listening to a lot of them... i also have been really into billie eilish, chapell roan and charli xcx lately... i think i'm having a brat summer," the girl laughs again, pleased with herself for getting the reference in. "oh, i sound like i only listen to girls... may be i do!"
"i hope you enjoyed getting to know a little bit about me, and i hope more that you want to see me again soon," yinuo closes out her questions and answers, her smile never once fading or losing its genuine charm. "thank you for your time!"

DREAMWAVE AUDITION !
yuwol doesn't know why he's doing this, honestly.
he had his chance—next gen was his first try, and it should probably be his last considering his parents' reaction to the entire matter. he joined, he rebelled against them for once in his life and all it did was brought him failure and embarrassment. he doesn't think he should try again, especially now that he's walking on thin ice every single day. but here he is, sitting in the middle of his room, facing the back camera of his phone and letting out a reluctant breath.
there are people who believe in him though. like chaerin, who encourages him in a way yuwol isn't familiar with; almost like a mother. and there's kou—who believes in him unconditionally, yuwol doesn't know what to do with kou's faith in him. yuwol doesn't want to disappoint them. moreover, he wants to reach out for the light too. maybe a part of him wants to find out how far this foreign road will take him, whether he'll fall back into the abyss his parents set up for him or if he can still break out.
so, back to square one.
DREAM COMPANIES
"my dream company... right now, that would be sr media. my time in next gen had made me realize that the aspect of performing and building a stage presence to carry the music we are delivering is very important." he thinks back to ran's words, how greatly it shaped his view on idols as a whole. "i'm very interested in sr media's approach to concepts, which is why i would love to be a under sr media in particular. if i had to pick a second dream company… then that would be studio delta, as i appreciate their freedom of creativity."
PREVIOUS MUSICAL EXPERIENCE
he reads over the question, and the image of his parents flashes behind his eyes. "my upbringing had always been related to music. i grew up in a household of classical musicians, specifically. i've played the violin since i was eight, performed in recitals and with orchestras for most of my life. next gen was the first time i parted with that instrument when it came to music." it was a refreshing experience—coming to an understanding that the violin isn't his only worth to live. "other than that, i study music too. my major is orchestral music, but i have a minor in music composition as well."
SKILLS
"i've been brushing up on my dance, lately. i know during my first round in this field i wasn't very good at it—but now, i think i've gotten a lot better." he has been practicing back at home, too. "i had vocal lessons before my time during next gen, but ever since then i've improved." he sounds more confident in himself—he knows he isn't the same person he was before, at least. "since i'm studying music, i've also done a lot of music composition... oh, and i've worked on my stage presence." he remembers when ran, once again, praised his acting—he wonders whether that counts too.
OTHER TALENTS
"ah... i don't mean to keep mentioning this, but i've been playing the violin for a very long time. i've dabbled in a few other stringed instruments, like the cello because my mom is a cellist," he explains. it feels strange, including his parents in a process they wouldn't approve of. "what else, what else... ah, i suppose i can write a lot of... poems. i've been writing a lot lately."
FAVOURITE ARTISTS
"a few years ago, someone introduced a band to me called lucy. i really like their music, the themes that they bring up, their instrumentals... but what i am fond of most is the way they write their lyrics. it's beautiful, i hope to be an artist like that too. someone who can bring these thoughts to life through music, or through my performances as an idol on stage."
the recording ends, and yuwol lets out another sigh.
